00:00:01
Speaker 1: The frames per second podcast all.
00:00:04
Speaker 2: Right welcome to the frames per second podcast where we are reviewing the latest season of i think it's safe to say i'm gonna steal nick's line that this is a hit been seeing a lot of people talk about this show uh it seems like it's gaining a lot of traction snowballed because this is season three yeah And now everyone is talking about this show.
00:00:30
Speaker 3: I am joined by my esteemed cast. What's up, Ms. Naturally Nay? Hey. What's up, Rob?
00:00:40
Speaker 4: What up, bro?
00:00:41
Speaker 5: And what up, Ken? Hola.
00:00:45
Speaker 2: Thank you guys for joining us here. So I'm going to go around the room, see what y'all thought about lioness. Ken, I'm going to start with you since you were later to get into it and just, you got a fresh watching of it. Uh, so tell me what you think about this show.
00:00:59
Speaker 5: Um, I enjoy it. I enjoy it a lot. I love the politics of it.
00:01:05
Speaker 1: Some of my favorite scenes isn't really any of the action is when they're in the, in the big boy room, when they talk a bit, wash it, you know, um, So, yeah, that's what I love hearing, like, the different dialogue there that, you know, has some truth and lies to it. So it's up for us to discern which one's what. But, nah, it's good, man. I get the hype. I thought it was going to move a lot faster than it did in terms of the action. But I was, especially with how many people were talking about the show, So I thought it was a blend of, of like action and, you know, covert government espionage and all the other stuff. So I was surprised a little bit by the pacing, but nevertheless, I think is, is good. And they do a good job of kind of presenting these scenarios. Um, but yeah, I enjoyed and, uh, just all of you guys talking about it, you know, encouraged me to go ahead and just move it up my, my list. So before I hand it off just for additional context for people listening, Um, yeah, last I've just powered through what, uh, a 12 episodes since eight 39 o'clock last night, uh, just to prepare for this, but I was hooked.
00:02:31
Speaker 5: I was hooked.
00:02:31
Speaker 1: So I was curious to see what all the hype were was about. Um, and I was definitely looking forward to talking about it with, with you all and given a lot of discussion around episode season three, I mean, I mean, um, I definitely was looking forward to getting into that to see what, what season three was all about too.
00:02:52
Speaker 5: I love it.
00:02:53
Speaker 3: Miss Nate, what about you?
00:02:55
Speaker 6: Oh yeah, I love this show.
00:02:56
Speaker 7: This is, um, this was, so I've been watching since season two, um, Um, the, the viral clip between Zoe Saldana and the pilot is what got me to watching it when it came out last, when last season came out. So, um, yeah, for all intents and purposes, I should not like this show. None of this is stuff that I like. I'm not a big politics like show fan. I'm not a big army action girl, but I think that they do a really good job of interweaving the dramatic, emotional, the drama between Jo and her family.
00:03:33
Speaker 6: I think they've done a really good job of building.
00:03:35
Speaker 7: Characters that even though I don't know a whole bunch about, I'm invested in. And then you have all of this. That makes the politics and the action interesting to me.
00:03:47
Speaker 6: So no, I'm a really big fan of this show.
00:03:50
Speaker 7: Nice.
00:03:51
Speaker 3: Okay, Ron, what about you?
00:03:54
Speaker 4: Yeah, man, I think this is a good show.
00:03:56
Speaker 8: Like, seriously, it's interesting because, like I said, Nate came on in the second season, and I remember her watching it around the house. I wasn't on it. I mean, I wasn't watching it with her. This is one of those shows that we just weren't watching together. But I used to see it on television sometimes, just passing through the house. And I was like, oh, that looked interesting. I think I actually sat down and watched like a scene or two here and there or whatever. I was like, oh, yeah, this is something I want to get into. But I didn't want to get into a dare where she was, you know, any time or something like that that she's watching.
00:04:31
Speaker 4: I always want to at least go back and start from the beginning.
00:04:33
Speaker 8: So I'll start intently just not looking at it when I see she has it on or something or I'll go to another room. And I can't remember what brought me back around to it. Did you tell me like, yo, no, you really need to watch the show?
00:04:49
Speaker 3: Right.
00:04:50
Speaker 6: When season three kicked off, I was like, I think you need to watch this.
00:04:53
Speaker 3: Right.
00:04:54
Speaker 8: So she was just like, okay, I know you just kind of been avoiding it for all this time, but you know, I think you really need to watch it.
00:04:59
Speaker 4: I was like, all right. Yeah.
00:05:00
Speaker 8: I don't mind. I never had an issue with watching. I just, you know, y'all know how I am. I don't really have time for shows like that. And then, uh, when I heard the season three was coming out, I was like, all right, let me see if I can catch up. So yeah, I basically started binging it or whatever. Um, and getting caught up to, um, season three. And, yeah, it was enjoyable, man. I was like, oh, yeah, this is a really good show. They do this really well. And kind of like what Nate was saying, they do a good job with military slash real-world life stuff. And I think that's where they really, really exceed. And I think the acting is really good in this. There's so many good performers in this show.
00:05:41
Speaker 4: So, yeah, I rock with it a lot.
00:05:45
Speaker 5: Perfect.
00:05:45
Speaker 2: Everybody's on board. I, too, rocked with it. I started at the beginning. I'm Taylor Sheridan is I watch a lot of his shows.
00:05:54
Speaker 5: I'm invested.
00:05:54
Speaker 3: So I knew about it when it started. And, yeah, I mean, it used to be a lot more action.
00:05:59
Speaker 2: I do like that the dialogue picked up this season because I'm totally the opposite of what you were explaining in the sense of I'm here for the politics and the other stuff. But it does make the family stuff and all the other things more interesting to me.
00:06:12
Speaker 3: So it's a complete reverse.
00:06:14
Speaker 2: But I think they do all of the things well in the sense of they don't spend too much time in any of the worlds where you roll in your eyes like, OK, this is enough. Like they give you just enough to where you always interested in the next thing that's happening in this show. So I am definitely here for it as well. There is a similar show to this is damn near the same thing. It's called The Agency. For people that like this show and is looking for something like it, but it's the same exact thing down here with less action, with more dialogue.
00:06:46
Speaker 3: So let's get into it. Season one was titled The Spider and the Fly.
00:06:52
Speaker 2: This starts with the Cold Foreign Operation where Jo and her team go to get Aleski Urimov. They get this from a honeypot who is a CIA agent.
00:07:08
Speaker 3: Well, you guys, so I'm.
00:07:09
Speaker 2: Going to go, we're going to skip around and hit the big points just to make sure we ain't here all night. But the lady that was introduced that gave them the foreign ad said, were y'all skeptical of her at all before it came out that more stuff was going on?
00:07:22
Speaker 3: Where were you with it on her name?
00:07:24
Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, I mean, it's the thing.
00:07:26
Speaker 7: I don't trust nobody in this show except for Joe's crew. So her coming in and kind of offering some intel up, I'm like, who is this girl? I don't believe it. I'm not here for it. Maybe I just got trust issues, but no, I absolutely distrusted her from the gate.
00:07:45
Speaker 6: I never trusted her.
00:07:48
Speaker 3: Ken, what'd you talk about her?
00:07:50
Speaker 5: Oh, yeah, yeah.
00:07:52
Speaker 1: This is where they're normally so buttoned up, bro. And then they even told her.
00:07:59
Speaker 5: She was a double agent. So that made it even more skeptical.
00:08:02
Speaker 1: So I was really surprised that they kind of went along with it, but also kind of wonder if it was a little bit of arrogance in there as well. It's like, they think that they could be and are better than the opposition, but yeah, all that stuff.
00:08:18
Speaker 5: Look, look shady. She don't look like she can be trusted at all.
00:08:23
Speaker 3: Right. Well, you still have to go a little too.
00:08:25
Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
00:08:25
Speaker 8: I think they definitely showed that on the show. Like, you know, Just like Ken said, I mean, they start off saying she was a double agent. I mean, at some points, they were just like, you know, it made you kind of like, all right, maybe she is on up and up or whatever. But just from the jump, it just did not. Just from the accent alone.
00:08:44
Speaker 2: It was something in the eyes, Chico.
00:08:48
Speaker 3: It was always something. I was like, I don't know. The eyes, the.
00:08:52
Speaker 4: Accent, everything. It was just like, nah, I don't know about that. The music, when she was on screen.
00:08:58
Speaker 3: Yeah.
00:09:00
Speaker 5: All of it.
00:09:01
Speaker 2: So what about Joe's kidnapping, right? In this episode, that's the biggest and the major thing that happens. We see Joe get kidnapped. I know I had questions. Who did it? Where's she going? Where's this leading? When she got kidnapped, what did that do for you in the sense of you and the show?
00:09:18
Speaker 4: I really couldn't believe that that was happening.
00:09:22
Speaker 8: I do like the way they told the story in this one because this is different from how they told it. in the first two seasons so I was like alright cool they're switching it up on us you know what I'm saying going back in time and you know sometimes it takes you a little minute to kind of catch up to where they are in the story but I like that you eventually know where you are in the story so it almost like felt like a like a serious finale you know I was like man is this it I mean you kidnapping the main character like what what is going on so so yeah for me I I really it really felt like a um.
00:09:58
Speaker 4: But uh but yeah man it was it was super impactful.
00:10:02
Speaker 8: Um of of them and it just kind of went along to the to the point where you know you see it in the first two seasons how you know.
00:10:14
Speaker 4: How she said, like, you'll be tortured. You know what I'm saying? So I was just like, oh, man, this is about to happen to her.
00:10:19
Speaker 8: So, yeah, I was really interested to see how this whole kidnapping played out.
00:10:25
Speaker 4: Hey, I think they did it right in front of her house. Like, I was like, yo, what?
00:10:30
Speaker 2: That was the strange thing to me that they did it right in front of the house. Ken, what did you think about the kidnapping? What did you think they were taking you this season? Because you had just watched all of them back to back.
00:10:41
Speaker 1: Well, they opened season two with the kidnapping, so it was interesting. They were kind of playing that same note again, except with a member from the Lioness.
00:10:51
Speaker 5: Team, actually the main person.
00:10:55
Speaker 1: For me, it was like, how the hell is she this damn sloppy to get caught like that? You should have been more aware. You should have more situational awareness than that. You see this car swerving and all the other stuff. You should have been on high alert And I was surprised that she got caught like that.
00:11:15
Speaker 2: Are you saying that because they had just tried to break in there and get her?
00:11:19
Speaker 3: Or are you just saying in general?
00:11:22
Speaker 5: Both. Both, yes, in general.
00:11:24
Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah.
00:11:27
Speaker 2: Nate, what do you think they was doing with Joe when the kidnapping came up?
00:11:30
Speaker 6: So, Cam brought up.
00:11:31
Speaker 3: A good point.
00:11:32
Speaker 7: Like, technically, each season has opened up with a kidnapping. The first season, they kidnapped that operative that they ended up having to blow up. Then they kidnapped the governor, whatever, the Senate officer or the congresswoman, whoever, and now they're kidnapping Joe.
00:11:47
Speaker 6: But, yeah, they've done such a good job of making.
00:11:51
Speaker 7: Joe seem so badass and untouchable that I didn't even think it was real. I was like, oh, this must be one of their training operations like they did with Cruz in season one.
00:12:00
Speaker 6: Like, what's going on? I did not think it was real.
00:12:03
Speaker 7: And I certainly didn't think it was going to go on for as long as it did.
00:12:07
Speaker 6: I was like, oh, they finna get her in a minute.
00:12:11
Speaker 2: I thought that that was going to be a one, two episode thing, just like they was going to get her. It was going to get back into them doing some other operative overseas with Joe there. But I liked it, though. I liked where they stayed with it. It was playing a new note. You mentioned the two timeline thing, Rod. I saw people complaining about it, but I liked that, too. I liked it was discombobulating a little bit, but it also made you way more interested.
00:12:36
Speaker 3: In what was going on. Like, okay, this is before... or after.
00:12:40
Speaker 2: And they did a special thing of framing the conversations to where you really couldn't tell where they were either.
00:12:46
Speaker 3: So I really like that part of it.
00:12:49
Speaker 7: Y'all don't feel like this is us going to fuck up the whole industry and make everybody do these back-in-time shows?
00:12:55
Speaker 4: This is us, yeah.
00:12:57
Speaker 5: Are you sure?
00:12:58
Speaker 6: Who was the first one to do that?
00:13:01
Speaker 4: No.
00:13:02
Speaker 3: Lost started telling the story like that. In my opinion. I think Lost made it like But this is us it did take off at the end.
00:13:09
Speaker 6: Yeah, sure. This is us changed the game. I'm sorry.
00:13:17
Speaker 7: It made the story a little bit more interesting, but it did make it feel a little cliche for me because I feel like so many series do it.
00:13:25
Speaker 3: That makes sense.
00:13:26
Speaker 1: And that's normally not how they tell stories. So it was different from the first two. The first two was a little bit more linear than than this one that we got.
00:13:39
Speaker 3: Yeah, that is true.
00:13:40
Speaker 2: All right, so episode two is called No Sorrow Like the Survivor. Here is where we see Joe with the captors. We're going back and forth. Actually, before we get there, I do want to talk about the conversation that Nicole Kidman's character had with the chief of staff guy when she was telling him, like, we got to get her out or everybody's going to flip at some point. Did y'all worry that Joe might get turned against When she said that?
00:14:08
Speaker 3: Well, did y'all feel pretty safe about what she was saying?
00:14:11
Speaker 7: How much of her kidnapping had we seen? Because there was a point in the kidnapping where I was like, bitch, spill it.
00:14:16
Speaker 6: Just tell all the secrets.
00:14:19
Speaker 2: Right now, episode two, we just at the point where they didn't cut her toe off because the trackers in her toe. But Nicole Kidman said as soon as she got kidnapped, she was like, look, this can only go so long because somebody, they going to break her. They all flip. Everybody flip. I thought that was a really good line. And it just added some intrigue to the series. Like, is they going to kill Joe?
00:14:45
Speaker 8: Did y'all think she didn't have it on her? Because she convinced me. I was like, she ain't got that shit on her, y'all.
00:14:50
Speaker 6: It's like the airports. It makes sense. They don't keep trackers on them. The airports, the security.
00:14:58
Speaker 4: She had me convinced.
00:15:01
Speaker 5: She was really convincing. She was really convincing.
00:15:04
Speaker 6: Then I was going to go up in her ass.
00:15:06
Speaker 4: Wait, wait, wait.
00:15:06
Speaker 5: Big toe, big toe, big toe.
00:15:07
Speaker 3: Oh, man.
00:15:14
Speaker 2: I like that because I was convinced just like y'all, but it goes further to show that dude was a professional.
00:15:20
Speaker 3: He knew like it ain't no way that you don't have a track. I know who you are. I know who I'm dealing with. It's impossible. So come on with it. But I did like that part.
00:15:29
Speaker 2: And then the team got there as soon as her toe gets cut off.
00:15:33
Speaker 3: What y'all think about Kyle? I don't think this is a cut off toe moment.
00:15:38
Speaker 5: When she got kidnapped, they're going.
00:15:40
Speaker 3: Into action, the team hitting the road, but Kyle is taking this personally.
00:15:44
Speaker 6: Kyle is my boy from the, I guess he's CLA too.
00:15:59
Speaker 2: I want y'all to think about him shooting the person in the hangar and getting the tail number.
00:16:03
Speaker 3: I love Ken Dahl.
00:16:05
Speaker 6: I love Ken Dahl since season one.
00:16:07
Speaker 7: He's like my second favorite character, third favorite character behind Joe and Cruz. It's the entitlement that Ken Dahl has that he just, he don't be playing around.
00:16:17
Speaker 5: He ain't got time.
00:16:18
Speaker 6: He's like, don't you know I'm a white man? I will kill all of y'all.
00:16:20
Speaker 3: And he does, and I love it.
00:16:22
Speaker 2: And they won't do shit to me. I'm the not fucking around person. I love his attitude.
00:16:27
Speaker 4: You like him, kid?
00:16:30
Speaker 5: Oh, Rod was going to say something.
00:16:31
Speaker 3: I'm a bad Rod.
00:16:33
Speaker 8: I kind of forgot, but yeah, like, but I do like that character. I think his arc is good.
00:16:38
Speaker 4: Yeah, I didn't always like, I didn't like him at first.
00:16:42
Speaker 8: It was just like, oh, okay. Another white man with power, whatever. But then he started making them very, very likable. I think what they've been doing with his character has been really cool.
00:16:53
Speaker 4: And it starts to make you think, like, do they have something else going on?
00:16:56
Speaker 8: You know what I'm saying? Do they have some sort of encounter. I don't know if y'all felt that, but it's like, man, he's really going hard for her. Like, you know what I'm saying? It's like this unspoken thing that's going on. So yeah, I, I like what he contributes to the show.
00:17:11
Speaker 1: It is like he said, I think in the first season, we were introduced to him is like, and, and, uh, Joe kind of, uh, reinforced. He's like, I'm a good looking white man. And she was like, yeah, that makes it fucking worse.
00:17:25
Speaker 5: You know?
00:17:26
Speaker 1: So not only am I white, uh, I'm a good-looking white man, and I'm really fucking good at my job, and I got all the power and privilege in the world, and.
00:17:37
Speaker 5: Nobody can fucking touch me.
00:17:38
Speaker 1: They can yell at me all they want, and they can do all this other stuff, and maybe they'll reprimand me, but they don't have anybody behind me that's even close to as good as I am.
00:17:50
Speaker 5: And he is good.
00:17:52
Speaker 1: He is really good at his job, and he will bend the rules to get things done, because he understands the game, He knows how this shit is done.
00:18:00
Speaker 5: He knows how dirty this game can get because he plays dirty.
00:18:04
Speaker 1: So, and he plays dirty within, like, the rules, so-called rules that we have in America. So imagine, he already know how to get down in Russia, Ukraine, Iran, and all those other places. So, shit, if we do what we do here, what they're going to do to her is going to be crazy. And then later on in the season, they even told her what they were going to do to her. I do like him a lot. I think he fits into the arrogance of the whole fucking team.
00:18:36
Speaker 3: He does.
00:18:37
Speaker 6: He's the epitome of a white man playing a white man's game.
00:18:40
Speaker 3: Facts.
00:18:41
Speaker 2: I think that's what makes his role or his character so good.
00:18:45
Speaker 3: And dangerous on the show. I'm getting away with murder, dog.
00:18:49
Speaker 5: Literally.
00:18:49
Speaker 3: It don't matter. I can do whatever I want.
00:18:52
Speaker 2: At this point in time, he's on a blazing trail for Joe, the whole team. Did y'all like the chase and the question of who done it?
00:19:02
Speaker 3: Was it the Chinese? Was it the Russians? Was it Iran?
00:19:06
Speaker 2: And did y'all have a guess what a lean and showing a hand as to who did it? What'd y'all think about this whole scenario as to who took up, who kidnapped Joe?
00:19:16
Speaker 8: That part I'm still working through, honestly. Um, because at some point I'm like, all that shit sounds the same to me. You know what I'm saying? Like Ukraine, Iran, like, I'm just like, yo, like, I mean, you know, like who took her? Like, I just want to know who took it. I don't really care about the politics behind it and why they may have, have like, you know.
00:19:41
Speaker 4: Why they might want her or whatever.
00:19:43
Speaker 8: And I know that's like the basis of it all, but I just wanted to just kind of get to the nitty, gritty of it all. So for that, for the whodunit part, didn't really intrigue me because I kind of felt it a little early on who might have done it when they kept saying, oh, it's personal. So I was just like, ugh, I don't know. That kind of revealed it for me, honestly. So at that point, I'm not that interested in that part.
00:20:09
Speaker 4: I'm just ready to see it all play out.
00:20:12
Speaker 3: So you knew who it was?
00:20:14
Speaker 4: I had an idea. You had an idea?
00:20:17
Speaker 3: I had an idea.
00:20:18
Speaker 4: You did?
00:20:19
Speaker 3: I did.
00:20:19
Speaker 4: At what point?
00:20:20
Speaker 5: Wow.
00:20:20
Speaker 4: Very early on, because when they said it was personal, I was like, ugh, it ain't too late.
00:20:24
Speaker 6: Nigga, they got me to the end.
00:20:26
Speaker 5: Oh, no.
00:20:27
Speaker 2: Until the last scene. I didn't know until they showed it. I was like, oh, it makes sense.
00:20:32
Speaker 3: You're right. It is her.
00:20:34
Speaker 8: Maybe because I binged it.
00:20:36
Speaker 4: Maybe that's why.
00:20:37
Speaker 3: I ain't seen the other ones in a while. I had to be. I don't even remember who that was, but we'll talk about that.
00:20:44
Speaker 2: I'm going to throw it to you, Nate and Ken, but I do want to speak to something that Rod was saying. You said you didn't like the China-Russia thing. See, I think that's why this show is so good, because I love that. I love the reason. They were explaining the bear, the wolf, and the lion, and they were explaining why China would have did it this way and why Russia would have did it this way. All of that stuff, I was like, I was on the edge of my seat when they were doing that. What did you think when they were trying to cipher through it?
00:21:10
Speaker 3: My bad, bro. No, no, no.
00:21:12
Speaker 8: I was just reiterating what I was going to say. Yeah, that part, it just doesn't. It's just like how the politics are with me now in the world. You know what I'm saying? That stuff don't treat me the way it treats y'all. I like to be abreast on it and know what's going on, but all the details and all that, just let me know once we get to a place of danger, and then I can start preparing for something.
00:21:32
Speaker 4: So that's how I am with it in the show as well.
00:21:37
Speaker 3: Nakeen, what y'all think?
00:21:40
Speaker 7: Um, I'm kind of with, with Ron. I didn't really care until I needed to care.
00:21:45
Speaker 6: Like, sure.
00:21:46
Speaker 7: I get, we need to figure out who got her so that we can get her.
00:21:50
Speaker 6: But the rest of it, it was.
00:21:52
Speaker 4: Like, I.
00:21:55
Speaker 6: Don't care who got it. Just get a bag.
00:21:56
Speaker 7: Just, just, just, just find Joe. And I don't like, I don't care who's who rented the vehicle. Just find a vehicle. Yeah, but I mean, I get that in the long, in the grand scheme of things, it matters. But I think that they do, like you said, Spike, they do a really good job of, even if that's not your bag, at some point in time.
00:22:18
Speaker 6: It matters to the story.
00:22:19
Speaker 4: Yeah, for sure.
00:22:20
Speaker 7: So, yeah, I like the way that they did it. But in the, like in the earlier seasons, like episode one and two, I don't care if it's China, Russia, Ukraine, Iran, Syria, I don't care who it is.
00:22:31
Speaker 6: Just get jumpin'..
00:22:34
Speaker 5: Yeah, this was right up my alley.
00:22:39
Speaker 1: And this season, I love how they kind of blended it all in together, showing the different personalities of the countries. And every one of them have a tale, but it was like a mixture of all of them. And I think they even described chess, or mentioned chess in the series, and that's what it was. And this was very, very, you know, interwoven. And you couldn't figure out who was doing what. You have the Russians here. You have the Ukrainians. They're like, why would the Ukrainians do anything when we're supplying them to help them fight the Russians?
00:23:14
Speaker 5: We get why the Russians may be involved. We get Iran.
00:23:17
Speaker 1: Iran just hates us, period. So they made that very clear, and we already know that. You know, with everybody else, there's a political reason to it. It's rooted in something. Iran just hates us just in general. everybody else will be willing to work with us because it's a quid pro quo sort of thing, you know? So, and, and we, we see a lot of that, um, even in like the first couple of seasons and, you know, all of this stuff is we we've seen played out historically throughout time anyway, with all the shit that happened in Cuba and, you know, the CIA and all the shit that they're doing. So it really is like as much insight as Taylor Sheridan can, can give into.
00:24:01
Speaker 5: Uh, all the.
00:24:04
Speaker 1: Political machinations of the world, you know, and, and honestly, most of this stuff was already in a lot of the stuff that he's using is already in books anyway.
00:24:12
Speaker 3: She talking about your SAT word, maculation.

00:24:55
Speaker 9: That's patreon.com forward slash frames per second.
00:25:03
Speaker 2: Um speaking of like just the different types of conversations on this show i wanted to hit on before we got deep in episode three and then on the trail of joe caitlin and her husband this was probably my favorite part of the show they they conversations and how they indirect but they very direct it's subtle but it ain't subtle i think they do a really good job of playing off of each other anybody else enjoy their relationship It's odd.
00:25:33
Speaker 7: It's very odd, but it works in the weirdest way. And I would like to say I think this role was made for Nicole Kidman. It's not too many other roles that I've seen where I like Nicole Kidman's performance as much as this. She just fits this role perfectly.
00:25:48
Speaker 6: Yeah, they're two dry ass.
00:25:50
Speaker 7: quiet ass, sneaky ass white people who I don't even think they even fully know.
00:25:56
Speaker 6: They don't fully know what each other does, but.
00:25:58
Speaker 7: Somehow they're married, raising children and making a life work.
00:26:02
Speaker 6: And I think it's just the money.
00:26:04
Speaker 7: And I don't, yeah, it's very odd.
00:26:07
Speaker 6: It's very odd to me.
00:26:09
Speaker 4: It's like that commonality that keeps them together, right? It's like this one thing.
00:26:20
Speaker 8: That they have going on, like this mystique or whatever, and it just keeps their marriage alive at this point. And it really, like they said in the show, it's like, look, I mean, what did she say on that last episode about territorial or something like that?
00:26:36
Speaker 3: Oh, she ain't seen territory.
00:26:39
Speaker 4: So, no, man, it is a really interesting relationship.
00:26:44
Speaker 8: Almost, it's almost similar to like two ships passing in the night type of situation, but They pass and then they talk for a little bit and then they, you know, they keep going on about their way.
00:26:53
Speaker 4: So, yeah, I like the dynamic.
00:26:55
Speaker 7: It even seems like they need each other, like the ships need each other to get to their route because it's like the way their jobs intertwine without them even like acknowledging how they enter.
00:27:06
Speaker 6: It's very weird.
00:27:08
Speaker 4: Yeah.
00:27:09
Speaker 8: Yeah, that's what I mean by, like, they pass, but then they don't ask the pass. They're like, yo, what's going on with you? Yeah, you know what I'm saying?
00:27:15
Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like they'll pass a little note when they pass by each other. I love the way that it plays out on screen. I just think that the two characters playing it do a brilliant job of it.
00:27:27
Speaker 5: The husband, I like.
00:27:28
Speaker 6: Do we know what he does? That's what I was going to say. Ron says this all the time.
00:27:31
Speaker 5: Like, who is this nigga?
00:27:32
Speaker 3: Who is this nigga? Like, what does he do? Is he oil?
00:27:35
Speaker 6: Like, is he money? Like, what is he?
00:27:38
Speaker 2: From what I understand, he's a political consultant. So he takes all of the information. They'll hire him to figure out shit within the government. And then he consults them through crises. That's what I understand. What do you think, Ken?
00:27:54
Speaker 1: I think they have some of the best conversations on the show. And I think it's definitely a mix of different sort of conspiracy theories. We've got to remember also that there's a writing team behind it. So they're throwing in a lot of different stuff and it's for you to kind of pick and choose what, what was what, but yeah, when they sit here, when he's talking about COVID and China's 50 year plan and all of this stuff about oil and all this stuff, he's kind of throwing these things in here, which is already out there, but he's kind of making it like, seem like these things are happening behind the scene as well. And, Um, and I really, I really love it because China does have a long plan of with how they do stuff. Their, uh, AI plan started in 2017. There's a whole document out there about it. And that should go from 2007, 2017, uh, all the way to fucking two 2030, you know? Um, so all of this shit is out there, but there's also some fiction in it as well. So he's taken all of these different things that's happening and and just throwing some other stuff in there to kind of make the beef outlaw. Um, there is a sort of danger to that because some people can walk away believing a lot of this stuff, but either way I go out, you, if you just, you know, realize that it's just, well, yeah, anyway, but no, I really love their, their conversation and how they just talk without talking.
00:29:26
Speaker 3: It's really, what, what did you, uh, what you think he do for a living?
00:29:30
Speaker 5: I thought they said it. They said it.
00:29:32
Speaker 3: They did kind of in the last.
00:29:34
Speaker 2: Episode that he was consulting with the government.
00:29:38
Speaker 3: He said consulting with.
00:29:40
Speaker 2: He said some agency hired him to figure out something because he was able to help Joe figure out.
00:29:46
Speaker 3: Well, excuse me, not Joe, but Caitlin.
00:29:48
Speaker 2: He was able to help her figure out what was going on through the research that he was doing for another government agency.
00:29:56
Speaker 3: So he said he was consulting.
00:29:58
Speaker 5: Yeah.
00:29:59
Speaker 1: Well, that's when she was asking him about how I think it was around the honeypot thing.
00:30:04
Speaker 5: Like, how would they infiltrate?
00:30:06
Speaker 4: Yeah.
00:30:07
Speaker 3: And that's when she realized the Ukraine did it.
00:30:10
Speaker 5: Well, excuse me.
00:30:11
Speaker 3: Well, she thought the Ukraine done it. The lady was.
00:30:14
Speaker 8: Yeah.
00:30:15
Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah. So and he just he just knows stuff, you know.
00:30:20
Speaker 1: And but I thought because he was in one of those rooms in one of the other seasons, I thought.
00:30:28
Speaker 5: But they never really say. I have to look it up and see.
00:30:31
Speaker 4: And they're always on the.
00:30:34
Speaker 1: Porch with a paper.
00:30:39
Speaker 5: Always saying something about oil. Oil, oil, oil. There's something about oil every damn time. Thanks. I like him.
00:30:47
Speaker 2: So Joe's team, they hot on the trail. And this is where they go over to Kaviv. They in the mole ladies.
00:30:55
Speaker 5: A la Kaviv.
00:30:56
Speaker 3: Old Cassandra.
00:30:57
Speaker 2: They in her house with her mom and her sister, making her watch it on video. Cal is trying to see if she's telling the truth and lying about being a double agent. And she convinces Cal after he calls her a Russian. She ain't like that shit. I'm calling me no Russian. Uh, did she convince y'all here that she was on the up and up or did y'all think she was still had.
00:31:18
Speaker 4: Some, she didn't convince me. He convinced me.
00:31:21
Speaker 3: Cal did.
00:31:22
Speaker 5: Yeah.
00:31:22
Speaker 4: It wasn't her. I'm still, I was still like, I don't know. I don't know.
00:31:26
Speaker 8: But what Kyle was like, bro, I didn't, I didn't ran every test that I could possibly run on her. She passes all of them. Once he, once he wasn't feel like he wasn't fooled.
00:31:37
Speaker 4: I'm like, okay.
00:31:38
Speaker 8: Cause we just saw him like talk, you know what I'm saying? Try, you know, try to get somebody else.
00:31:43
Speaker 4: To, to break.
00:31:45
Speaker 8: So the fact that you didn't break her, I was like, all right, maybe, maybe she ain't, you know what I'm saying? And so, yeah, yeah. I, I, um, I, I, I believed him, not her.
00:31:55
Speaker 3: Okay.
00:31:57
Speaker 4: Nope.
00:31:58
Speaker 5: Yeah, I think so, too.
00:32:01
Speaker 1: But Caitlin's husband is in some finance.
00:32:05
Speaker 5: When I Googled it, nobody really even knows either. But either way I go.
00:32:13
Speaker 1: She's a double agent, so she's really good at the game. Because I'm with you, Rob. When he was convinced, I was like, damn, maybe she wasn't really about this shit. What made me also kind of not believe her When she was like, you think that's her first time being raped?
00:32:30
Speaker 5: And that wasn't even with America.
00:32:31
Speaker 1: So I'm like, okay, so her family's also kind of used to this sort of thing happening as well. So they've been there, done that. Even though it's rough and tough for them, but they've been there, done that. So she's also willing to kind of live through that as well. So when you threaten to cover her finger off, yeah, I'll play like I care.
00:32:56
Speaker 5: I'll show you that I'm Ukrainian, not fucking Russian.
00:32:59
Speaker 1: So I'm going to use my ability as a double agent, as a spy, to convince you that this is some real shit.
00:33:08
Speaker 8: I was going to say, when you were looking up the person, the guy that we like or whatever, I think they do a good job with that, too, making everybody's role kind of ambiguous.
00:33:19
Speaker 4: They don't really tell you exact titles sometimes.
00:33:22
Speaker 8: Even Morgan Freeman's character, we don't know exactly who he is at We just know he's close to the president. We don't know his title. I think they do a really good job with that. The only person we really know is the lioness.
00:33:36
Speaker 7: I thought Morgan Freeman was the president for the first few episodes of.
00:33:42
Speaker 3: The first season.
00:33:45
Speaker 2: It's an aura chart floating around online so you can tell who answers to who. I'll send it to y'all if I find it again.
00:33:55
Speaker 3: What y'all think about Morgan Freeman, though?
00:33:57
Speaker 5: That's my dude, bro.
00:34:00
Speaker 1: He flaunt his power.
00:34:04
Speaker 5: And he speaks.
00:34:08
Speaker 1: It's very simple and direct, but it's so much behind it. And it's not all of these words. Later on, he was like, man, that's a lot to process. And they were like, yeah, so it is. But it's just stuff like that. And one conversation was like, man, do you think I give a fuck about what was it? Justice or something like that? Something he said. And then the guy came in and he started breaking his other shit down. See, that's why I don't give a fuck about that shit. The first season, he was absolutely great because just like the white man, like He's an old black man with a high role and everybody in there answers to him and he just sit back and he let them talk. And when they're done talking or when he feels like he needs to guide them to get to a point where he got to go talk to the president, he'll ask a question. He'll ask for feedback and then he'll say his part. And then, you know, the decision is made. And man, he's that guy.
00:35:15
Speaker 3: I mean, he is, but I could.
00:35:16
Speaker 4: Give a damn.
00:35:18
Speaker 6: And I think this is why, because the political part.
00:35:21
Speaker 7: Doesn't really intrigue me. I agree with everything Ken just said about him. And to a certain extent, I can see the similarities between him and Kyle's kind of like, all right.
00:35:30
Speaker 5: Yeah.
00:35:30
Speaker 7: Especially when like them other two political, the dude and the lady who just be complaining and bitching about everything that they do. And I'm like, y'all don't, y'all sit behind a desk. Like y'all are not in the field like them. And he just let them go. And then he's like, all right. At the end of the day, this is what it is and he gets up and he goes to his office and goes home. He gets off that phone and calls the president when he needs to.
00:35:51
Speaker 4: They're super unnecessary. They're irrelevant. They are so irrelevant.
00:35:56
Speaker 3: No one ever listens to them. No.
00:35:59
Speaker 2: Somebody might answer the question and then everybody's talking straight through them.
00:36:05
Speaker 3: It's so hilarious.
00:36:06
Speaker 5: I love him.
00:36:11
Speaker 1: Listen byron byron maybe i haven't ranked him yet but byron is very very high on my list as one of my favorite characters on the show if you see the white guy byron is a little white dude that's the white guy right.
00:36:24
Speaker 7: Yeah okay yeah yeah man if if you see byron.
00:36:26
Speaker 5: Show up you in fucking trouble bro And in any show, he is that guy.
00:36:40
Speaker 1: It's just like in season two, when they showed up at the gate, it was like, hey, I know you're such and such. Hey, you better get on the phone and ask about me because he's going to tell you.
00:36:50
Speaker 3: Byron don't fuck around.
00:36:52
Speaker 4: You're right.
00:36:52
Speaker 3: Every role that dude right there played, he played his first.
00:36:56
Speaker 5: You in fucking trouble, bro. Byron, show up. Just listen to him. Do what he asked you to do.
00:37:03
Speaker 2: So also at the end of this, we saw that Joe was confused. At the end of this episode, they do the thing back to the timeline and we see that Joey is actually still captured and she's being waterboarded.
00:37:14
Speaker 3: Any surprises there when y'all seen that scene?
00:37:17
Speaker 1: Hey, look, let me tell you something. That bird dripping that water on her face. My God, that's fucking brilliant, bro. I think I was going to do it.
00:37:29
Speaker 5: I was wondering the same thing, too. I think I could, but to.
00:37:32
Speaker 6: The point where I borderline wanted to try it and see.
00:37:34
Speaker 4: You can't sleep through that.
00:37:35
Speaker 7: Like if I took like a water, like squeeze some water out of a washcloth.
00:37:39
Speaker 4: On my head real close. You can't sleep through that.
00:37:42
Speaker 3: I think I could. It's not going out of the nose. It's just going on the eyes.
00:37:45
Speaker 4: I could do it.
00:37:46
Speaker 2: I had to look it up after that. It make that spot right there on your head tender. So it's going to eventually start.
00:37:53
Speaker 1: Yeah.
00:37:53
Speaker 3: Like it do it so much. I looked up.
00:37:55
Speaker 2: I was like, I got to know what the purpose is. So the water, it keep hitting right there. And just like water, a motor rocket school, make that spot in your head tender. And then eventually it's going to feel like every drop is a hammer.
00:38:07
Speaker 3: Hitting your head. You sure? If they leave you, that's what they say. That's what they say when I read it.
00:38:11
Speaker 2: I sleep with it every month.
00:38:15
Speaker 3: I think I can do it. That's what A.I.C. A.I.C.
00:38:18
Speaker 2: Is a tested, proven method in that it'll fuck you. It actually can kill you. Like if they leave you there long enough to where the water go through your head.
00:38:27
Speaker 4: So.
00:38:28
Speaker 3: Just think.
00:38:30
Speaker 4: About it now.
00:38:31
Speaker 8: You don't have the ability to wipe it off. It just hit you. That's what you've got to realize.
00:38:39
Speaker 3: It just constantly.
00:38:40
Speaker 7: You have never been a middle-aged woman with night sweats.
00:38:44
Speaker 8: Night sweats is just.
00:38:45
Speaker 4: That's your internal body.
00:38:48
Speaker 6: No, that's puddles of water on your body.
00:38:50
Speaker 4: Huh?
00:38:51
Speaker 6: It's puddles of water on your body.
00:38:53
Speaker 8: Right, but that's coming from internal things happening.
00:38:56
Speaker 4: You're sweating.
00:38:58
Speaker 6: I think I could do that. If y'all think y'all.
00:39:01
Speaker 7: Can outrun possums or whatever the hell y'all said y'all could do, I think I could get water for you.
00:39:05
Speaker 4: I think you can outrun a possum. I think you can outrun a possum.
00:39:10
Speaker 1: I was also thinking that I was wondering if I could, over time, until Spike gave me that information.
00:39:20
Speaker 5: Get used to it and sleep through it.
00:39:21
Speaker 3: Having a drop of water.
00:39:27
Speaker 1: But the one thing I thought about is a drop of water in your head is so fucking frustrating and annoying that it's going to drive you fucking insane.
00:39:36
Speaker 5: Think about it.
00:39:37
Speaker 1: Has anybody ever spilled some water on you or you just sleep and there's some water dripped off the ceiling?
00:39:42
Speaker 5: Man, bro, that shit was brilliant. Chinese water torture.
00:39:46
Speaker 3: Yes, it's an old Chinese method.
00:39:48
Speaker 2: And they said the tactic causes little to no direct physical injury. OK, but the targets the mind through sensory deprivation, powerlessness and sleep disruption. So prolonged exposure can total restrain, induce severe distress, anxiety or perceived hallucinations or psychosis.
00:40:09
Speaker 3: OK, they might be right now.
00:40:13
Speaker 2: Yeah, from what I read, they might be right. Because I thought it was a physical thing eventually. But if it's just you telling me it's a mind thing the whole way through, I think I agree with Ken and Nadine.
00:40:29
Speaker 3: It's just a drop of water, bro.
00:40:30
Speaker 4: Nah.
00:40:31
Speaker 5: Y'all are crazy.
00:40:32
Speaker 4: Y'all are crazy.
00:40:36
Speaker 5: That's fake.
00:40:42
Speaker 2: All right so uh after that episode joe and her team were doing the two timeline things still and joe and her team run this honeypot mission where they go out and try to get the uh that op did y'all like this part when they were dancing in the club they take the dude back to the room oh.
00:41:03
Speaker 8: Yeah this is cool anytime the team gets together to coordinate something that that'd be the best shit for me like i'm really they really execute that well on this show when they um When they have this plan and they try to execute it.
00:41:15
Speaker 4: But no, it was fine. It ran a little longer than I needed it to. But I did like the overall concept. But yeah, it did run a little long for me.
00:41:26
Speaker 7: I like Two Cups and the strip club with the stripper better than this one.
00:41:31
Speaker 3: I don't know why.
00:41:32
Speaker 6: Maybe because Two Cups is just entertaining to me.
00:41:35
Speaker 3: The one he actually slept with.
00:41:38
Speaker 5: Yeah.
00:41:38
Speaker 8: That's crazy.
00:41:40
Speaker 4: He actually slept with him. That was wild. They keep coming for real.
00:41:47
Speaker 3: He was like, who's going to do something? Who's going to do anything about it? I fucked with him for that. Any other thoughts on it? The abduction scene?
00:41:58
Speaker 2: Because now I want to ask y'all about Another topic that's been heavy, and that's Joel's husband. We're at episode four when Caitlyn's character goes. You tell him, look, dog, he ain't. I don't know if she's coming home. We got about two, three days. They almost found her. She on a plane. I'm going to be real with you. I'm not sure if she's coming home. What do y'all think? One, about this conversation, and two, just about Joel's husband. Does he have two legs to stand on, or is he just being a bitch?
00:42:30
Speaker 6: I'm going to let y'all talk because I have a theory.
00:42:32
Speaker 4: You're the biggest simp on TV to me.
00:42:36
Speaker 3: You're the biggest simp?
00:42:38
Speaker 4: Yeah, he is. Biggest simp on TV. Biggest simp on TV.
00:42:45
Speaker 3: His nigga told her. He a hater, too. His nigga told her boss. Hey, man, she can't work in the field no more. Nigga, who is you?
00:42:52
Speaker 2: You can't be telling my boss that.
00:42:54
Speaker 3: You crazy?
00:42:55
Speaker 4: He's a wrong guy. I'll say this.
00:43:00
Speaker 8: He's a really, really good guy. Really, really stand-up husband. You know, like, he is an amazing human being.
00:43:10
Speaker 4: Amazing human being.
00:43:11
Speaker 8: But he's a bitch, though. I'm just like, bro, golly. It's a little annoying for me. Like, it's like, you know.
00:43:22
Speaker 4: Like, you ain't got no money?
00:43:24
Speaker 5: Like, what.
00:43:28
Speaker 8: Is that?
00:43:29
Speaker 5: He didn't want the fucking.
00:43:32
Speaker 7: Gun.
00:43:33
Speaker 5: He was like, I don't do that.
00:43:34
Speaker 3: I don't shoot people.
00:43:37
Speaker 5: That's your job.
00:43:39
Speaker 3: Man, if you don't set up, brother.
00:43:44
Speaker 5: She be chomping his ass. Oh, bro. She be tearing his ass.
00:43:49
Speaker 3: Man.
00:43:49
Speaker 4: He might as well just hold his legs up when he has sex.
00:43:53
Speaker 8: He might as well hold his legs up when he has sex, bro.
00:44:01
Speaker 5: Golly.
00:44:01
Speaker 3: My biggest problem, I had to get off the screen.
00:44:03
Speaker 2: My biggest problem with him is he act like it's Joe's fault, though.
00:44:09
Speaker 3: Like, you know this is what your wife do, bro.
00:44:12
Speaker 5: Like, how are you offended?
00:44:14
Speaker 3: It's like, you offended.
00:44:16
Speaker 2: It's like, this is coming to my home. Like, yes, I'm never off work. I work all the time. It's 24-7 what I do.
00:44:24
Speaker 4: He definitely signed up for it.
00:44:26
Speaker 3: Yes.
00:44:26
Speaker 2: I just hate that he's so offended that like, how could this happen?
00:44:30
Speaker 5: Like, shut up, dude.
00:44:31
Speaker 3: Get the fuck out of here.
00:44:32
Speaker 5: His own daughters be cussing him out.
00:44:34
Speaker 1: In the first episode, she was like, I can't have this conversation with a white man.
00:44:37
Speaker 3: White man?
00:44:38
Speaker 4: What the hell?
00:44:39
Speaker 5: He's trying to get mad.
00:44:41
Speaker 3: He's trying to get mad.
00:44:43
Speaker 4: It was so funny.
00:44:44
Speaker 3: He was like, how dare you?
00:44:46
Speaker 1: What the hell?
00:44:55
Speaker 4: Shit. Yo, he's dirty on this show.
00:44:59
Speaker 8: He's like the dirtiest person on this show.
00:45:02
Speaker 2: He is the butt of all the jokes. No one respects him. It took a minute for me because I'm with you.
00:45:09
Speaker 7: I'm like, why?
00:45:10
Speaker 5: If this guy was a black man, we would be up.
00:45:23
Speaker 1: In arms about how they have emasculated him and made him weak and all this other stuff. And I'm like, I'm surprised white men and white people are not pissed off about this shit.
00:45:36
Speaker 5: It's an embarrassment.
00:45:44
Speaker 4: He's taking care of black babies by himself, man.
00:45:48
Speaker 5: Oh, man, he is. He's cleaning.
00:45:51
Speaker 4: I mean, he's doing everything. Like, golly.
00:45:55
Speaker 1: She done dropped two bodies. She got two bodies outside of the house. He running on the porch looking around like, what the hell just happened? Like, get your ass in the house.
00:46:08
Speaker 2: Oh, man, could you imagine your wife telling you, get back in the house, it's dangerous.
00:46:23
Speaker 7: Yo, this Papoose and Clippers and Shields.
00:46:28
Speaker 6: Can we come outside now?
00:46:32
Speaker 4: Yo, this how Papoose and Clippers and Shields going to.
00:46:35
Speaker 3: End up being right here, bro.
00:46:36
Speaker 5: She on the lawn, Spike. She don't put two down and ran out the house.
00:46:56
Speaker 1: She's standing in her yard.
00:46:58
Speaker 3: This man would have hit her in the steps. He's like, I'm a doctor.
00:47:04
Speaker 4: I save lives. I don't take lives.
00:47:06
Speaker 5: What you gonna do about them in the floor?
00:47:08
Speaker 3: Go see them motherfuckers outside there. He did see some.
00:47:12
Speaker 1: Motherfuckers on the ground. He didn't run to try to help a damn one.
00:47:19
Speaker 3: Nay, what's your theory?
00:47:21
Speaker 5: I don't know.
00:47:22
Speaker 7: Y'all, I don't even know a little bit. So help me out. Y'all call him a bitch in one hand.
00:47:30
Speaker 3: Right.
00:47:30
Speaker 6: But then he is. What do y'all want from him? What is it?
00:47:36
Speaker 7: And what does man up in this situation? When you're married to a soldier, what does man up look like?
00:47:42
Speaker 2: Quit bitching about what she does and quit talking to her peers about how difficult this is for you because you signed up for this. Quit coming to her with conversations about when I'm going to quit my job, when I'm going to do this. We talked about you being safe because you signed up for this. Like, you know what she does, who she is. And she doesn't.
00:48:02
Speaker 6: He doesn't know the extent.
00:48:03
Speaker 3: To an extent.
00:48:04
Speaker 5: You're right. You're right.
00:48:05
Speaker 2: Not all the way. He don't know how dangerous it is. He's learning that you're right. And he knows something different.
00:48:09
Speaker 7: Does he even know that she has that closet of guns? I don't even think he realizes that. Like, I don't think he knows the extent to which. her, she like, she is really that bitch. Like, I don't think he understands that. And so I think it is fair for him to be like, especially two kids now, a high schooler and like a middle, like with the kids and daughters, the age that they're at, I can absolutely understand him saying, this is too much for me.
00:48:36
Speaker 4: Right.
00:48:37
Speaker 7: Especially with like, with you on the news. And I have to explain this to our kids. You getting kidnapped outside our house. I knew you was a soldier, but I don't think I signed up for that.
00:48:48
Speaker 4: So what's your theory?
00:48:52
Speaker 6: I don't have a theory no more. Y'all kind of blew it out the water.
00:48:55
Speaker 7: But I think to me, I was really curious to see what y'all are going to say, especially with the way the season ends. Because it kind of reminds me of the Hugh the Hammer scene. In House of the Dragon, right? We were saying, allow him to go off and protect and provide for the house.
00:49:15
Speaker 6: And that's essentially what Joe is doing. She's protecting.
00:49:20
Speaker 7: And providing for this house but y'all skewed that because i was curious to see especially with the way that ended how y'all are gonna feel about it y'all are pretty consistent kudos to y'all um but yeah this is my faith like the the complexities of what Nate and these kids are dealing with while Zoe is doing what traditionally a man would do.
00:49:44
Speaker 6: I think it's a really interesting way to.
00:49:46
Speaker 7: Kind of show like what, because generally this is the, Nate's in the woman's position.
00:49:50
Speaker 6: A woman is dealing with the kids and dealing with whatever career she has and.
00:49:55
Speaker 7: Trying to balance it while the husband is out and being a soldier's wife, right? So I think that's an interesting twist on it. But my heart goes out to him because I don't think he really realized what he was signing up.
00:50:11
Speaker 1: For.
00:50:11
Speaker 2: Would you call him naive in any sense of the word then? Because I'm sure it wasn't as dangerous as it is right now. This may be an extreme time, which is, of course, that's what TV shows do. They examine the extreme time in the timeline. But isn't it kind of naive for him to pretend that these aren't possibilities when you're dating a soldier.
00:50:32
Speaker 5: Like you said?
00:50:33
Speaker 8: Absolutely, because he knows she's not just a regular-ass soldier. She's not leaving out there with fucking... What do they call them? The fatigue shit?
00:50:40
Speaker 4: Call?
00:50:41
Speaker 7: He knows she's CIA, but I don't think he knows what that entails.
00:50:46
Speaker 5: Because she's CIA, so it.
00:50:48
Speaker 8: Entails a lot. And the thing about it, I think you're throwing him a bone, and that's fine. But he knows because... You remember he was talking to her higher up. He was just like, man, look, can you get her to not.
00:50:58
Speaker 1: He knows.
00:51:00
Speaker 7: The fact that he feels like he can talk to her higher up lets me know he really don't know who he dealing with.
00:51:07
Speaker 5: How?
00:51:08
Speaker 8: If he's able to talk to her higher up. He knows her by first name. It seems like they have some sort of relationship. It's time.
00:51:17
Speaker 7: The fact that you think that you can say that to her and her actually be like, you know what, okay, I'll have that conversation with her.
00:51:25
Speaker 4: Yes, he's naive.
00:51:27
Speaker 6: Yes, he's naive. I think he's very naive. Yeah.
00:51:34
Speaker 1: Caitlyn's... She got a lot of power, too. And she don't fuck around. Because remember, when he ran out there, it was like, hey, we know blah, blah, blah. She was like, man, if you don't shut the fuck up, all the neighbors and shit talking, shut the fuck up.
00:51:49
Speaker 3: Right. And see, the thing too, Nate, it was like.
00:51:53
Speaker 8: I think she told him at one point, like, you know I can't say that. You know I can't give you that information. So it's just like, he knows something. He knows the seriousness of his wife's job.
00:52:05
Speaker 4: He does.
00:52:05
Speaker 7: Yeah.
00:52:06
Speaker 2: Because she, and at one point came and asked him, she was like, ain't y'all been over this, right? Like, you know what's going on right now. So, I do think that he knows the seriousness of it. I will shoot him a little bell in saying that maybe it's gotten more extreme in this moment. He realizing that he can't take it, but I still don't like the way that he handled it and just up and leave.
00:52:27
Speaker 3: Like you can't do like just going to leave with my kids.
00:52:29
Speaker 5: You serious?
00:52:31
Speaker 2: Like at least have the conversation with Joe. And I know she drove off and we'll talk about that. So that dad wasn't cool either. But for him just to do what he did at the end, I didn't like it at all. So that's Joe and her husband Now they keep coming close to getting Joe back They had her in their room there They put her on the train Anything about the process of them almost getting Joe back That y'all thought was interesting And wanted to go over.
00:52:58
Speaker 6: I just didn't understand how they was always like One step.
00:53:02
Speaker 2: Behind their ass It almost made me think that Somebody on the team was Like a mole They felt like that's what they was trying to do Like that somebody on the team was like doing something crazy but it didn't happen that way so y'all got the same thing no.
00:53:18
Speaker 8: For sure for sure did that like i it was a little annoying that they always was one step behind that started to get a little annoying i was like oh man because they're supposed to be like be that team you know what i'm saying they're supposed to they're supposed to be the ones bro but that also shows too that they don't have they they person in charge so they're gonna be one step behind I like how that played into this or whatever, because I think if she was still there, they wouldn't be one step on.
00:53:47
Speaker 3: That's a good point.
00:53:49
Speaker 2: Another part that I really enjoyed throughout the series, and if there's one conversation that stuck out to y'all, if y'all didn't enjoy it, we can move on past it. But with Morgan Freeman, our boy that we was just talking about and the Russian dude would talk over dinner and have these indirect negotiations with about uh at the end when they told him they had the uh target but even just throughout when they were going through trying to figure out who it was did y'all like morgan freeman and uh the other two dudes in this moment y'all know what i'm talking about.
00:54:23
Speaker 7: Um he had there was the dinner that he had with the congressman who ended up in traffic and then the breakfast that he had with the russian dude and i did think it was interesting the russian was like all right so it's bad news we have dinner And when you want to negotiate, we have breakfast. But I will say that in these scenes that Morgan Freeman was very composed.
00:54:46
Speaker 6: He handled himself like, I have all.
00:54:49
Speaker 3: Of the cards. And I like that.
00:54:51
Speaker 5: I do, too.
00:54:54
Speaker 3: Did you like your boy in these moments, Ken?
00:54:57
Speaker 1: Yeah, I think, you know, he was asking him something. He was like, you never answer my question. He was like, I answered as much as a kid or I told you what I did tell you. I told you as much as I tell you.
00:55:06
Speaker 4: Right.
00:55:07
Speaker 5: Yeah. So I did like it.
00:55:10
Speaker 1: And I think, honestly, it kind of really showed to them that, you know, don't get this shit twisted about how we move. You know, like he was like, yeah, y'all got y'all got shit.
00:55:23
Speaker 5: From us.
00:55:23
Speaker 1: Like, what are you talking about? He was like, actually, we kind of do. We kind of want to give them back to you. But we made sure you're alright, bro.
00:55:33
Speaker 5: And he was like, what? How the fuck?
00:55:35
Speaker 3: The way his face drives.
00:55:38
Speaker 5: He was like, he died.
00:55:42
Speaker 3: Fake news.
00:55:43
Speaker 4: Fake news.
00:55:43
Speaker 5: Yeah, it was like, bro, we the US, man.
00:55:47
Speaker 1: All I was thinking about, man, if Pete Hepsep was in this show, all this shit would have been fucked up.
00:55:53
Speaker 5: Oh, my God.
00:55:54
Speaker 3: Who was that? Yeah, you don't even need... He's none. So, we get to this point where.
00:56:05
Speaker 5: Hold on.
00:56:07
Speaker 3: Let me get back to my notes here.
00:56:09
Speaker 4: Yeah, we kind of skipped ahead a little bit.
00:56:12
Speaker 3: Okay. Is there something you wanted to hit on?
00:56:14
Speaker 1: No, no, no.
00:56:14
Speaker 4: I was just saying I thought you might have got lost.
00:56:16
Speaker 3: Yeah, we skipped. So, I was going to.
00:56:21
Speaker 2: Where the honeypot produced the 37 arrests, so now they're talking about senators and diplomats and all these people that are working with the Russians.
00:56:27
Speaker 3: Did that part of the story, did y'all care about that at all? Did y'all like it? Mm-mm.
00:56:33
Speaker 5: I didn't care.
00:56:33
Speaker 3: I don't care about.
00:56:35
Speaker 7: These school teachers. I don't care about these Congress people. I don't care about none of that. I mean, I get the fallout because they're trying to figure out, like, shake shit and see what falls, but I didn't care.
00:56:45
Speaker 4: Yeah, that's kidding, but.
00:56:47
Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah. I, I, I loved it all.
00:56:49
Speaker 1: Um, there was, there was definitely some interesting nuggets, uh, throughout the three season they dropped when they were talking about the, uh, China funding universities. And that's why they think the way they do and all this other kind of stuff. And you can see how easily these guys can be, uh.
00:57:10
Speaker 5: Flipped and manipulated.
00:57:12
Speaker 1: And, You know, it also explains, I mean, it's not, these aren't things that we don't know, right?
00:57:18
Speaker 5: We see politicians, we know they're corrupt.
00:57:20
Speaker 1: You know, we know about APOC or whatever it's called that's funding with Israel. And that's why we have the stance, you know, towards that and not, you know, with the gods. We know all that shit, like all this shit is funded. We know all the politicians are bought and paid for. I just saw that. you know, in, in Texas, they threw up data centers without even talking to the people and the people mad about it, but the data center already like all of this shit, every single thing is, is, is coordinated. It's all a coordinated event, you know? So, um, and they were just kind of really like saying like, all of this shit is to quote be from, from dead in sports, uh, all this shit is fake. And that was one of the things that like, they dropped these like one liners, you know, and, and like when, um, going back to the conversation, when he's sitting up there watching news, she was like, never believe the news, honey.
00:58:11
Speaker 5: Like, don't believe anything you see on there. Like, all this shit's a plan.
00:58:15
Speaker 1: And she had to tell his stupid ass twice, because he only watched it again. I'm like, I told your ass not to be believing the shit you read on the news. I work for the CIA. I'm telling you, that shit ain't real. That motherfucker right there, that motherfucker ain't real. All this shit is fucking coordinated. Which kind of goes into what we were talking about is the mice along. So you have to approach this stuff with uh like you just with the with the like it's not believable who's the benefit from it and when you see this and you see they can place assets and all these other people places and these politicians are making decisions to line their pockets they're telling you this is how this shit happens and um and the other thing i like that that she told him was that when he was saying, man, the world is kind of fucked up right now. And she went all the way back and was like, yeah, whatever. the first person that was killed was such and such, Tito or whatever. All the assassination. She said the world has always been this fucking way. And everybody thinks their world they're living in is worse than the world it was, but it's always been this way. And I've said this multiple times on some of the other shows we've talked about, like in grad school, That was one of the things that my professor said. She was like, the only thing that changed with humans and societies is technology.
00:59:36
Speaker 5: But we all function and act the same fucking way. And that's it.
00:59:39
Speaker 1: So I love like that was kind of in there for people to hear whether they take it or do anything with it or whatever. But I just like to do this place there. And hopefully when they see stuff happening, they'll have an understanding of why that person might be paid for. You can't believe anything he says. That's why none of this shit that we vote for or that people vote for ever gets fucking done. Because the corporations and shit have paid for. And now, I mean, you have to look at the universities in a certain kind of way, too. Because I looked that shit up. Them motherfuckers are funding some shit.
01:00:14
Speaker 2: A couple more things I want to get to before we leave out. Maybe three more things, which is going to be the recapture and the Joe, the reveal at the end of who was behind everything and what y'all think is going to play out for the next season. They find Joe. They own the case. They pull her over. He tells Joe not to say anything. Joe, about their life as we know she is, I was so glad that they did this too. If they had made her just like sit there and not say nothing, I would have lost a lot of credibility with this show. what y'all think when they finally found joe uh the whole action scene with the guns all of it what y'all think about this.
01:00:56
Speaker 8: Even before we get here i like the leading up to it like like i said this is when i feel like they were really hot on her trail when they got to that uh to that hangar where the plane was and they and the pilot he was convincing as hell too at first but then he yeah he ain't no yeah yeah so that the pilot the shootout on the on the Oh.
01:01:16
Speaker 3: I forgot about that. I love that scene, too. I forgot about that. The cow went in there and they pulled their ass off their plane.
01:01:21
Speaker 5: All of that was great.
01:01:22
Speaker 8: That was great. That was so great. So that was the first part. And I think that's leading up to that part. I think that's when they finally had chopped off her toe and shit or whatever with that. So that's when we was introduced to the other guy. And we thought the other guy, we thought the first guy was bad. But then this other nigga was even worse.
01:01:39
Speaker 7: Yeah.
01:01:41
Speaker 3: I was like, damn.
01:01:42
Speaker 5: Yeah. The sound my daughter made when she took her first shit.
01:01:46
Speaker 4: Right. Right. Right. So he was very convincing. He was very convincing. Like, Oh, this nigga might kill Joe. Like for real, for real. Um, and so, yeah.
01:01:56
Speaker 8: So then we got to the, you know, when they, uh, uh, with, with the girl from the first season, when she's like, just give me a chance.
01:02:03
Speaker 4: I like, I like her, how she started.
01:02:06
Speaker 8: Just being just really, really more involved, wanting to get, get, get the, uh, get Joe back. Yeah, man, all of that was good. Just them wanting to take the fucking pills so they could stay up and everything.
01:02:20
Speaker 4: All of that shit was good, man.
01:02:22
Speaker 8: And when they finally got on the trail of where the van was.
01:02:26
Speaker 4: I'm with you to a certain extent. I honestly didn't think she was going to say anything.
01:02:31
Speaker 8: I was really surprised that she immediately said something as soon as the cops came or whatnot.
01:02:37
Speaker 4: But no, it was good.
01:02:39
Speaker 8: This whole part was amazing because it was so satisfying, right?
01:02:46
Speaker 4: They built up into this moment. And it worked. Yeah, man. It built up to this moment and the payoff was amazing.
01:02:57
Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm with you guys. What was good about it is that we've seen it happen in movies so many times, right?
01:03:03
Speaker 5: Or TV shows.
01:03:04
Speaker 1: Like the cops right there, but you don't say anything, I'm going to kill you. And they typically don't. And you're like, man, you could have got away. But she I mean, she's about that life. She's been tortured. She understands what's on the other end of this thing.
01:03:16
Speaker 5: You know, even when she went robot or whatever was torturing.
01:03:19
Speaker 1: Her, like, you know, you can see her kind of break down and toughen up all in the same time. So when he had that knife and he was, you know, just moving that knife down and she started to kind of break down and then she kind of hardened back up. And and until he chopped that fucking shit off. but everybody, I was screaming for her. But yeah, I like that she was like, nah, I need to get out of here. Now it shows the police department ain't shit, but that makes sense because they ain't really shit. Because they got taken out quick. But all of this was dope. Yeah, man, it was ASAP.
01:03:58
Speaker 2: Yeah, they were no match for the mercenaries that was in their car.
01:04:03
Speaker 1: But when I tell y'all something like, look, All of the shit that be on the ground and the boots on the ground shit we saw in season two, all that shit is fine. But when them motherfucking birds and them motherfuckers come from the goddamn sky, bro, them motherfuckers are the equalizer, bro. When you hear that noise.
01:04:27
Speaker 5: It's over.
01:04:28
Speaker 1: When they came in, I was like, where the fucking bird at? When them motherfuckers came in, that bird, gone. Because remember, they were running. He was like, it's an open field. They running, they shooting them and shit like that. This is the worst I've ever seen them shoot.
01:04:41
Speaker 2: Yeah, they usually take their ass out. That's one thing about this series and Joe team. When they shoot, they hit their ass. It don't be that movie TV shit.
01:04:51
Speaker 5: Nah.
01:04:52
Speaker 3: Yeah, no, I did.
01:04:55
Speaker 7: I like this scene. This whole sequence was super tense. Do we know that there's a mole at this point?
01:05:04
Speaker 2: They keep alluding to it, and I think that they're... I'm going to ask that at the end.
01:05:08
Speaker 6: Okay, I don't think... I think this is.
01:05:10
Speaker 7: Once they get hurt, I think that's when they identify in the Oval Office, Secretary of State room, wherever, that there's a mole. But watching... I was on the edge of my seat like y'all. Is she going to actually make a break for it or not? And if she does, is she going to get away? What's going to happen?
01:05:30
Speaker 6: It was really tense.
01:05:31
Speaker 7: And at this point, I didn't know if it was a situation where Joe was going to make it out, which is odd because it's the main character. But I actually felt like this show could have potentially... taking her out, which was weird to me. So, yeah, no, I thought it was really good. I really liked, like Roz said, Cruz being super gung-ho about getting her back. Bobby kind of being like, you know, cooler heads will prevail, calm down. Seeing Kyle being so gung-ho about getting her back, I think that they did a really good job of kind of showing everybody each of the characters' drives. And then once you realize there's a mole, it makes you question all of that. So I feel like they did a really good job. Because by the time we end this episode, going into the final episode, I'm like, who the fuck is the mole? Like, who's the mole? Like, at this point, I don't trust nobody. Like, not even nobody on Jyoti. Because I'm like, what's really going on? So, no, this was really good.
01:06:34
Speaker 6: And I really liked it. I know there was a lot of conversation there.
01:06:38
Speaker 7: Around when Bobby and Cruz got Joe, her saying she didn't want the guys.
01:06:43
Speaker 6: To see her like that.
01:06:45
Speaker 7: And so it was like kind of a moment of the women rallying around the women, which I thought was cool too.
01:06:52
Speaker 3: That's interesting. I didn't even think about that.
01:06:54
Speaker 2: So when you say the mole, are you speaking beyond the lady from Ukraine?
01:07:02
Speaker 3: You said it's somebody in her crew. Right.
01:07:04
Speaker 7: They're saying, so they said it in the, um, like with the double, I think Kyle and somebody said it in Kyle and Nicole Kidman's character, I think said, you know, so is there a mole? And then in the final episode, the two Russians said there's a mole.
01:07:19
Speaker 6: And they're like, yeah, we know.
01:07:20
Speaker 4: Okay.
01:07:22
Speaker 2: So yeah, I think it's a U S cause I picked up on it too.
01:07:25
Speaker 3: So yeah, I think there's a whole crew tour. I'll ask y'all about it at the end.
01:07:28
Speaker 4: So, okay.
01:07:29
Speaker 2: I was wondering what you're thinking about two different things. We was on the same page. Uh, They recover Joe. She does not want to go home. She wants to figure out who it was that took her. What y'all think about this decision? Does it line up with who Joe character is?
01:07:48
Speaker 6: Absolutely.
01:07:52
Speaker 5: Why you laughing here?
01:07:54
Speaker 1: Because she didn't want to hear that shit.
01:07:57
Speaker 3: We as men know how Joe feel. We can relate. I don't want to hear this shit tonight, man. As soon as I.
01:08:02
Speaker 1: Walk in this door, hear this motherfucker go.
01:08:06
Speaker 5: My fucking toe is gone.
01:08:07
Speaker 3: I'm limping when I walk in.
01:08:09
Speaker 1: She didn't want to hear that shit, bro.
01:08:11
Speaker 3: Even when she got shot.
01:08:16
Speaker 1: Even when she got shot on the phone, he was like, I'm going to just go upstairs and take a shower. He's like, no, I got you a bed down here. She's like, fuck all that. I need you to go get me a fucking shower. She was like, you're not my doctor. Leave me alone.
01:08:29
Speaker 5: Let me do what I do.
01:08:31
Speaker 1: So if he acted like that off of that shit when she had the mesh, man, this dude, he'll probably.
01:08:40
Speaker 5: Kidnap her, too. Just make sure she ain't going anywhere. He didn't even know she was coming home. And then she walked through the door. Oh, man. She was like, uh-uh. Get me out of here. Just go. Didn't he walk outside? Saw the car take off.
01:08:58
Speaker 3: Pull off on him, dude. like a little puppy. He was like a little dog.
01:09:03
Speaker 6: I felt so bad for him.
01:09:05
Speaker 5: I felt so bad for him.
01:09:09
Speaker 4: Oh, man.
01:09:10
Speaker 5: Why? Because once he.
01:09:14
Speaker 1: Get past the husband, then she got to deal with the daughters. That's a whole other different set of emotions. Especially that teenager who out there sleeping with all kind of folks who know what the hell she into right now.
01:09:28
Speaker 6: She straightened up after she got pregnant. After she lost that baby, she straightened up.
01:09:33
Speaker 5: Yeah, she did.
01:09:34
Speaker 3: When was she pregnant?
01:09:36
Speaker 5: First season.
01:09:37
Speaker 6: When she got in that car accident and they was like, yeah, by the way.
01:09:41
Speaker 4: That's right.
01:09:42
Speaker 5: Joe tried to blame that on her.
01:09:44
Speaker 3: Oh shit, I forgot all about that.
01:09:47
Speaker 5: I did too.
01:09:48
Speaker 4: And I just did. That came and went.
01:09:52
Speaker 5: You did. I would love to.
01:09:56
Speaker 3: To you to pull it off too, Kim. What was you about to say, Nate? I'm going to let you shoot him some bail. No, I'm not.
01:10:01
Speaker 6: Yes, I'm going to shoot him some bail.
01:10:03
Speaker 7: Because, like, y'all, your wife just got kidnapped outside your front door. And you done have to spend however long she's been gone, not knowing if she's going to come back or not. and you know she's all right, and her bitch ass can't even come say, I'm okay, but I got to go figure something out. You can't even give me the respect to say that. I think I'd have left her ass, too. I think I'd have left her ass, too. Because you got me in the house with these kids.
01:10:33
Speaker 6: They know something wrong. I'm having to keep this shit from.
01:10:36
Speaker 7: All this shit that I'm dealing with, and you can't even knock on the door and say hi and bye?
01:10:41
Speaker 1: No. No.
01:10:44
Speaker 2: No, because you were trying to talk me out of it.
01:10:47
Speaker 3: No.
01:10:48
Speaker 5: I need a minute. I've been tortured.
01:10:52
Speaker 3: Nigga, I need a minute, too.
01:10:53
Speaker 6: I need a minute, too, to make sure your ass is all right.
01:10:58
Speaker 3: You had a lot of minutes.
01:10:59
Speaker 5: You had a lot of minutes when I wasn't there.
01:11:01
Speaker 3: Just one more day. It ain't going to matter. One more day.
01:11:05
Speaker 2: That's so funny how the role dynamics have changed with this. I understand Joe 1 million percent in this and being like, nah, bro, I just go sleep at the office.
01:11:15
Speaker 6: And y'all think it's okay?
01:11:17
Speaker 2: I do.
01:11:17
Speaker 3: There's some jobs where that's required.
01:11:20
Speaker 2: I feel like I'm going to give Joe a lot of grace for the job that she does and the stress levels that come with it. And I'm not going to give her husband a lot of grace because you got to be acclimated to that, bro. Like, Or be man enough to have a conversation with her and tell her you're leaving, but don't just be bitching.
01:11:37
Speaker 3: That's why she always scared to come home.
01:11:39
Speaker 6: She's like, he's going to leave. She say that every.
01:11:42
Speaker 3: Time she comes to New York. It's going to be the last time.
01:11:47
Speaker 1: She said, I ain't going to have somebody to come home to.
01:11:51
Speaker 7: You got two cops driving his kids across interstates trying to keep them away from Terrence Lake.
01:11:57
Speaker 3: This nigga is going to a lot too.
01:12:00
Speaker 5: They look like they were having fun in that car, though.
01:12:02
Speaker 6: Thank you, Lord.
01:12:04
Speaker 3: They told me.
01:12:07
Speaker 1: This is PTSD. She deal with a lot of trauma. She, you know, she has to unwound. And the last thing you need to unwind.
01:12:17
Speaker 7: I can't bring this to y'all right now. Like you could have not. You could have called me from the car and been.
01:12:22
Speaker 6: Like, I can't. I can't come home right now.
01:12:25
Speaker 4: She did call him from the car. She did call him from the car.
01:12:29
Speaker 5: No, she didn't.
01:12:30
Speaker 6: Oh, she did. Yes, she did. And he hung up on her, didn't he?
01:12:34
Speaker 3: Yeah.
01:12:35
Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
01:12:36
Speaker 4: He sure did. I'm telling you, man.
01:12:41
Speaker 5: Hey, man.
01:12:42
Speaker 3: Dude is a woman scorned. That's exactly what he is.
01:12:46
Speaker 5: And that's not the first time.
01:12:48
Speaker 1: The last time he threw the phone, she threw it with the phone being thrown across the room.
01:12:53
Speaker 6: Y'all don't think y'all would act the same way?
01:12:57
Speaker 4: No.
01:12:59
Speaker 2: No, it's just it don't even make sense to me that he's acting like that.
01:13:04
Speaker 4: I don't even want to put myself in that situation is all I'm saying.
01:13:08
Speaker 1: The only way, the only reason why I'm going to give him just a little bit of bail on why the way he acts fits his personality because he's a doctor.
01:13:16
Speaker 5: Yeah.
01:13:17
Speaker 1: And they're wired a little bit different. You know, they're healers by nature.
01:13:24
Speaker 5: That's right.
01:13:25
Speaker 1: You know, and she's the complete opposite. So he wants to heal everything in this relationship, her mind, the family.
01:13:32
Speaker 5: All this other shit. So that's what makes them soft and weak.
01:13:37
Speaker 1: But I know some tough-ass motherfucking doctors, too. They ain't like this motherfucker.
01:13:44
Speaker 2: It's like their ideals are so different. I don't even understand how they got married. So that's why I think I'm giving him less grace. Because to what Ken is saying about him being a doctor, the way that he thinks don't even register to Joe. And that's what makes me like, man, how did y'all even get married?
01:14:05
Speaker 3: Why is this even still a thing? Because you like him.
01:14:10
Speaker 1: But Spike, she also was quick to remind us, she was like, you knew this shit before we even got married.
01:14:17
Speaker 5: And now you're trying to switch up on me.
01:14:18
Speaker 8: That's what I'm saying. He's not that naive. He knows who he's married.
01:14:25
Speaker 1: I'm laying up in the hospital. I got some mesh wire around my artery. You see him talking this shit, bro.
01:14:31
Speaker 5: You already knew.
01:14:34
Speaker 1: I can't even check out and you sit here whining.
01:14:42
Speaker 8: I know he talks about him, but that does make me think about.
01:14:50
Speaker 4: Joe's character.
01:14:51
Speaker 8: I think they're doing a really good job at depicting her as a lioness. A lioness that protects her to a different level. Not just in the home, but just for the world, Craig. I want you to take me off for the world. It ain't even just my household. I want to protect my household and everything around it. It's an interesting dynamic because they're both protecting that she's just protecting the country that includes her family you know what i'm saying like like she she's like on the on the on the on the border of everything protecting while he's just protecting the home to a certain degree so i do like how they how they're depicting her as a true lioness that protects her cubs in the house but just in a different way so yeah I will say that it's just unfortunately he's being looked like a like a simp into it all but.
01:15:51
Speaker 5: Yeah Yeah, you're right, Rod.
01:15:54
Speaker 1: I think she even gave her story why I think something about her father came here and stuff like that. So she gave a little bit of the bad story because the little girl laughed and she was like, that shit ain't funny.
01:16:06
Speaker 5: But yeah, that is a good point because every time they have the conversation, she was like, you know I'm not doing that shit. Like, I can't. It's not going to happen. You know, so yeah. Right, you know what?
01:16:16
Speaker 4: Because she finally revealed it to the children. So they're not naive. They understand what's going on. Because she had the conversation with her girls.
01:16:24
Speaker 5: She's like, look, I feel like I'm holding her. Yeah, she finally told the.
01:16:31
Speaker 3: Girls, yeah. Yeah.
01:16:32
Speaker 2: She has the last mission where they catch the guy. They go in the restaurant. They do the whole thing. They let you see the technology, Ken, wherever. But they watching you all the time. I don't care what you think you signed up for or didn't sign up for.
01:16:48
Speaker 3: They showing us right here on this show.
01:16:50
Speaker 2: They can find you and they're watching you and they're recording it whenever they need to. They use all the technologies to find Buddy to kidnap Joe. They engage when they realize that it's him. And that's Joe's call. This causes deaths in the restaurants among civilians. This shakes Joe up. But they did get their man. Do y'all think She should be shaken up by this. Is this just part of the job? What do y'all think about her making the call in the restaurant and how it affected y'all?
01:17:24
Speaker 4: It was a bad call. You know what I'm saying?
01:17:27
Speaker 8: And it was a bad call because of, you know, the trauma that she's been through. So this isn't like, I don't think this is a normal. She was acting like she was on the field, like, but she doing that on U.S.
01:17:37
Speaker 5: Soil.
01:17:38
Speaker 4: Like, you know what I'm saying?
01:17:38
Speaker 8: Like that, that's something that you do. Like, it's like an operative thing. This wasn't that, which is why a lot of people got killed. Like, a lot of important people got killed. So, yeah, it was a horrible decision.
01:17:50
Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying? They should have just detained them instead of engaged.
01:17:55
Speaker 8: So, like, when it was happening, I was like, oh, man, this ain't about to go well. Especially when they said, like, well, Kyle will figure it out once we get up in there.
01:18:03
Speaker 4: And I was like, oh, man.
01:18:07
Speaker 3: He won't.
01:18:08
Speaker 5: Yeah, my man's dirty.
01:18:10
Speaker 3: What'd you think about the call, man?
01:18:16
Speaker 4: She got something going on.
01:18:18
Speaker 3: Kim, what'd you think about the call?
01:18:21
Speaker 5: Um, man, right.
01:18:23
Speaker 1: I'm so glad you actually said that. I think that's another sort of message in the show.
01:18:30
Speaker 5: Um, it, it, Taylor has his politics.
01:18:34
Speaker 1: This felt, you know, you, you, and you see some of it play out in here, but, um, but yeah, man, I think spike, you, you, you were talking about like, if, if, If anyone is naive to not think that they're not surveilling us at all times, then.
01:18:49
Speaker 5: people are absolutely fucking crazy.
01:18:52
Speaker 1: And one of the things that even earlier, I don't know if it was this season or the other season, where they were talking to one of the characters, they were like, the thing about Americans is that they think they have this freedom.
01:19:05
Speaker 5: And they really don't have this freedom. They've been sold this lie, this illusion.
01:19:10
Speaker 1: It's one of the things that we've talked about on the show.
01:19:12
Speaker 5: All this, again, going back to B, all this shit is fake.
01:19:15
Speaker 1: They tell you all this shit, but what we've learned, if you're listening to the show and all the shit that they have, like, when they walk up in the room, you're like, you haven't read Miranda Rice.
01:19:25
Speaker 5: You're like, I don't have to. All I have to do is... Yeah, I could just call up.
01:19:30
Speaker 3: I ain't that kind of cop. I ain't that kind of cop, buddy.
01:19:35
Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm going to just read off these numbers from the Dewey Decimal System and then none of that shit exists.
01:19:41
Speaker 5: You know, so this whole.
01:19:44
Speaker 1: Thing, man, bro, they in there watching Spike, you might not get it, but they're watching us like Lucius Fox is in Batman.
01:19:51
Speaker 5: All this shit. And now they got the fucking flock cameras that's everywhere.
01:19:55
Speaker 1: That white people are mad about And I don't know if you've seen the one over there by us, but white people are mad and up in arms about, but they're not going to add drones. So we've always been constantly surveilled. 9-11 had, I love the conversation I had about that with the president when Morgan Freeman was telling that story.
01:20:11
Speaker 5: That was good, too, to buy. It was. And we've been surveilled for the longest.
01:20:16
Speaker 1: Shit, we can go back to King and all this.
01:20:19
Speaker 5: This shit ain't new, especially for us.
01:20:22
Speaker 1: So, yeah, like you're you're if they want you, they can find you and they can put you in jail and lock you up for anything. And you will not be seen at all. And they can make up any kind of shit about it and national security. And then it's a wrap and you're done for. So that's what I really loved about this scene. And everybody can kind of see for themselves that, yeah, all this shit is a lie.
01:20:44
Speaker 4: That's the other thing I like about Byrne. He be knowing all them damn codes and shit. That shit is so gangster.
01:20:50
Speaker 8: He be like, oh, that's code six times.
01:20:55
Speaker 3: Me, we gonna get away with it, bitch. That's what it mean. Yo, when you.
01:21:02
Speaker 8: Talking that talk, man, I do like that shit when you be talking that talk, man.
01:21:08
Speaker 1: Because, Ron, I think he cussed out that white woman one time. And she was like, you know, do you know what the fuck I have? He didn't give a fuck.
01:21:15
Speaker 3: Right.
01:21:16
Speaker 5: Like, shut your fucking stupid ass up.
01:21:18
Speaker 2: Nate, what did you think about the restaurant scene and the call that Joe made?
01:21:24
Speaker 6: Yeah, I think, Matt, it was another call she made before.
01:21:27
Speaker 7: I think it was when she pulled the, even though it worked in her favor when she got the other dude out of Guantanamo Bay. But I think that she's, because she is traumatized, I think it was the one who said it, because she's traumatized, she's.
01:21:39
Speaker 6: Acting out of that, like, revenge, vengeance. She's not giving things as much thought as she used to.
01:21:46
Speaker 7: And she's also, I don't know if y'all picked, like, she's becoming way more affected by the deaths. Like, the fact that she killed additional people in the restaurant, the fact that they did get rid of that double agent. Like, they seem to be impacting her more, which is why I think Nicole Kidman essentially is like, yeah, we got to talk about your future because bitch, you fucking up.
01:22:07
Speaker 4: Because she got empathy now.
01:22:09
Speaker 3: Yeah, she does.
01:22:10
Speaker 6: She does.
01:22:11
Speaker 7: So, yeah, I think all in all, this really psychologically impacted Joe in a way that's affecting.
01:22:22
Speaker 6: her career.
01:22:28
Speaker 1: When they found out about the double agent, they were like, wait, what? I wish we would have known that shit.
01:22:33
Speaker 8: I was like, that would have been good news to have yesterday. Nicole Kim is like, I mean, it is what it is.
01:22:45
Speaker 4: It's like so cold with it.
01:22:51
Speaker 1: And that's what I like, and I know we're close to wrapping up, when Morgan Freeman, because Byron tried to pull that shit with Morgan Freeman, because he was the one that sanctioned it, but not sanctioned it. And he was like, yeah, he was like, now I got to figure out how the hell I'm going to deal with this fucking murder.
01:23:06
Speaker 5: He was like, it ain't murder, it's war. He was like, nah. Personal murder.
01:23:10
Speaker 3: Personal murder.
01:23:12
Speaker 4: Personal murder.
01:23:15
Speaker 8: But even with that part, though, Ken, like, again, that just shows you just how good Kyle is because he essentially was right. She wasn't a part of it. And he read her right. At the end of the day, he was correct. Yo, she is not who y'all think she is. Like, so even though they may, even us, the viewer, think that it was her, like, he still stayed true to not, to be like, no, I took her through extensive testing. extensive testing. I just don't see it. I don't see it. So I thought that was really dope.
01:23:54
Speaker 4: Yeah.
01:23:54
Speaker 3: What about....
01:23:57
Speaker 7: Because we still got this mold. And I have my hunch between two people and Kyle is one of.
01:24:11
Speaker 4: Them.
01:24:13
Speaker 1: Really?
01:24:13
Speaker 5: Ain't no way.
01:24:15
Speaker 2: That's the last person on my list.
01:24:17
Speaker 5: Really?
01:24:18
Speaker 3: Let's get into it then. So with the end of it and everything that happens.
01:24:22
Speaker 2: Of course, Joe was told she got to be put on a desk job. We get to reveal that it's not the Ukraine that they killed that lady for nothing. That was they thought was the mole. And it actually is a mole within the crew. And then they do the cut scene to the lady from season one who brought to your point. If it is personal, Joe had her dad killed. I think her uncle. Joe took her family down. They took her lover, her husband. They took her down through there. So as soon as they saw her, I think you said this too, it was like, oh, yep, yes, okay. The reveal, I didn't guess it until then. I know you said you knew beforehand, Rob, but when they showed her, I was like, yep, that makes sense. Ken, I would want to know what you thought when you saw her since you just watched them. Did you think it may be her at any point in time?
01:25:14
Speaker 1: No, when they kept talking about Iranians, I was trying to recall one of the previous misses and who they fucked over in Iran.
01:25:21
Speaker 3: Yeah, can't get too wrapped up in that part.
01:25:24
Speaker 2: I don't.
01:25:24
Speaker 1: Yeah, so I was like, yeah, I was stuck on the politics.
01:25:30
Speaker 5: It's a different type of P, Rod.
01:25:32
Speaker 7: Yeah.
01:25:32
Speaker 5: Yeah. It's a different type of P that got them in this mess. Right.
01:25:40
Speaker 7: Yeah.
01:25:41
Speaker 8: So, yeah, and I think because I'm so detached from that The politics part, Iran, China, all the rest.
01:25:47
Speaker 4: I'm like, nah, it's something else. It's something else or whatever.
01:25:51
Speaker 8: And I always thought that that was going to come back around at some point.
01:25:57
Speaker 4: For that first season to go through all of that, and I'm like, yo, she's going to want revenge.
01:26:04
Speaker 3: How do you not?
01:26:05
Speaker 8: And they just kind of just deaded that whole thing. I'm like, well, wait, that don't make any sense. That's going to come back around at some point.
01:26:12
Speaker 3: It got to.
01:26:14
Speaker 8: Because I, like, yeah, like, she took, they were a couple.
01:26:19
Speaker 6: They were.
01:26:20
Speaker 3: They were a couple.
01:26:22
Speaker 8: And just to just dead it like that, I was like, nah, nah, something else gonna happen with her.
01:26:29
Speaker 4: She gonna come back around. And yeah, when I saw it, I was like, yep.
01:26:33
Speaker 3: Is that the chick that she was fighting?
01:26:35
Speaker 5: Huh?
01:26:36
Speaker 3: Is that the chick that she was fighting, that Joe was fighting? It was the other girl.
01:26:39
Speaker 5: Okay, got it. Yeah, Cruella.
01:26:40
Speaker 6: Yeah, no, no. It's Cruz, who is, like, Behind y'all, she my favorite. I love some Cruz.
01:26:47
Speaker 4: Yeah.
01:26:48
Speaker 8: So, yeah, this is going to be really interesting to see how this whole thing plays out. Because she seems relentless. She seems relentless and she got a lot of power.
01:27:01
Speaker 6: She got all that power that her daddy had.
01:27:03
Speaker 4: Yep.
01:27:04
Speaker 7: And her daddy was relentless. And she didn't see anything wrong with his relentlessness whatsoever.
01:27:12
Speaker 6: Even before.
01:27:12
Speaker 7: She was like, y'all call it what you want. He's not doing anything no other countries do. She's always kind of had it in her. They just gave her a reason. Which is why I think it is not Kyle. I think the mole is my second guess.
01:27:34
Speaker 3: Who do you think the mole is?
01:27:36
Speaker 6: I think the mole is the pilot.
01:27:38
Speaker 4: Gorilla?
01:27:40
Speaker 7: I think she is pointless. She's stupid as hell and there's no reason for her to be there. She's like the bus driver for the crew. And she's now in a relationship with Cruz. They got rid of her daddy. They shipped her parents off. So essentially they've kind of done to her what they did to Aaliyah, the first girl. And now she's in a relationship with Cruz. I think she's being used to get at Cruz romantically. And to get at all of them.
01:28:12
Speaker 4: That's a good theory. That's a good ass theory.
01:28:16
Speaker 7: I never thought that they were going to bring that first storyline back around because they went to this whole other storyline with the pilot. So I thought the basis of this show was just going to be each season was a different target.
01:28:30
Speaker 4: Right.
01:28:31
Speaker 7: But if we're looping them back around, that's a way to bring that second story back into the.
01:28:35
Speaker 4: Fold, too.
01:28:36
Speaker 7: Yeah.
01:28:37
Speaker 8: Yeah.
01:28:37
Speaker 4: Because I don't see how you talk to Kyle. Kyle just seems too.
01:28:41
Speaker 7: He was just too gung-ho about getting Joe, and I didn't understand why.
01:28:45
Speaker 4: But he put his career on the line by killing that person. You know what I'm saying?
01:28:49
Speaker 6: Again, why?
01:28:50
Speaker 3: Trying to hide something.
01:28:52
Speaker 5: Right.
01:28:52
Speaker 3: But I think he just... I think Kyle is overzealous.
01:28:56
Speaker 2: I do like the theory for the second one because I thought it was Cruz. I'm thinking Cruz because of her relationship with the girl, but that is a bit too obvious.
01:29:05
Speaker 3: So if you go with Cruz.
01:29:07
Speaker 2: And then the girl are dating now to your theory, then yeah, I like that a lot better because that's who I think it is.
01:29:13
Speaker 3: Excuse me. If I had to pick a second person after Cruz, I would have picked her. But I do think either one of those are going to be your mold. Ken, you got a guess?
01:29:26
Speaker 1: I do think Kyle's just a G.I. Joe, so I'm going to rule him out. Cruz could be close because she never wanted to come back, and she was forced to come back, so she could probably have a vendetta against.
01:29:44
Speaker 5: Joe as well because she quit.
01:29:45
Speaker 4: Because she was mad about it. She was mad about it.
01:29:49
Speaker 1: She never wanted to join the team, and she was reassigned to the team without permission. I'm in agreement with you, Nate, with Carrillo. She, yeah, she did that little joke and it didn't work when she was trying to do liftoff and shit. And that shit was stupid. She's not battle tested. She's crying or screaming when they were about to get killed in season two. And, you know, her whole record was damn near inflated anyway with all those kills. So she ain't that guy. that they made her out to be. She's just kind of there. I like the bus driver analogy. But I don't know how I attach Carrillo in Mexico to Iran. Even though her dad was a piece of work, bro.
01:30:41
Speaker 5: Her dad was ruthless in season two. And he's not dead.
01:30:49
Speaker 3: Damn, he isn't dead.
01:30:51
Speaker 5: You are fucking right.
01:30:54
Speaker 3: He killed his brother. Yeah.
01:30:56
Speaker 5: He killed his brother and took over.
01:31:00
Speaker 7: And they moved him to witness protection. They moved him to Colorado and she said her mama hate the cold.
01:31:06
Speaker 6: So they up there miserable in the cold.
01:31:10
Speaker 4: And yeah, she's already attached to crime. She's already attached to crime. So she'll be easy to get.
01:31:19
Speaker 6: A whole Mexican cartel.
01:31:21
Speaker 3: Yeah, they just go through her day.
01:31:27
Speaker 2: And it makes sense, too, when they were talking about the different nations and how them not having... It didn't look like either one of those nations did it because they wasn't spending enough money.
01:31:38
Speaker 3: They was like, this is too cheap.
01:31:40
Speaker 2: But if you got the cartel who got money, but they ain't got money like a nation would, but they still know how to get these things done, then it probably would look like.
01:31:49
Speaker 2: Job a hatchet job like they said okay yeah that definitely makes sense all right so that was our review of lioness man for season three i really enjoyed the ride it was a lot of good tv on this year man but i think this gonna make my list um season three lioness we appreciate you guys joining us go make sure you do all the things that make these things successful like rate subscribe like comment join All the good stuff, man.

01:32:21
Speaker 5: Peace.
