ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Most people treat flow like weather. Something that arrives if you're lucky and leaves without explanation.
It has four parts, though, and all four can be measured. How long it takes you to get in. How long you can hold it. What the exit feels like. What it costs to come back.
Once you know those four numbers for yourself, the question changes. You stop asking whether you're motivated, which never has a useful answer, and you start asking where you are in the arc, which does.
Inside this episode:
- The approach, and why quitting on day two makes you think you can't do the work
- Your window, at both scales, and what it costs to book against one you don't have
- The drop, and why you feel worst about seventy-two hours after you finish something good
- The reset, which is the first thing you cut when you get busy and the reason your second run of the year is harder
Your homework: one project, four dates. When you started circling it, when the real work began, when the working stretch ended, when you felt like yourself again. Subtract, and you have your arc.

What looks like a behavior problem is almost always a sovereignty problem. In this episode, I take you three layers down, past the surface chop, beneath the current, all the way to the tide that was set before you ever entered the water.
