00:00:02.879 --> 00:00:05.360
Well, hello, hello, hello, everybody.
00:00:05.599 --> 00:00:10.720
This is Reverend Karen, welcoming you to Fearlessly Fair a Living.
00:00:10.960 --> 00:00:23.120
I am broadcasting as usual from the Woogie Ranch in the back 40 of northwestern Nevada, where I'm a good half an hour away from the nearest gas station and the nearest grocery store.
00:00:23.359 --> 00:00:29.519
And wide open space is both a lifestyle and a spiritual teacher.
00:00:30.320 --> 00:00:47.520
This podcast explores real practical ways to apply new thought spiritual principles and practices so that you can create a deeply successful, meaningful life and live creatively, courage, and successfully.
00:00:48.159 --> 00:01:02.479
Fearlessly Feral Living is a focus ministry of Centers for Spiritual Living devoted to cultivating a world where every person lives wild, awake, free, and unapologetically alive.
00:01:04.319 --> 00:01:06.560
So I gave a talk this morning.
00:01:06.799 --> 00:01:14.159
I gave this talk to the uh to CSL Grader Pittsburgh.
00:01:14.400 --> 00:01:17.040
It's a teaching chapter in Pittsburgh, of course.
00:01:17.280 --> 00:01:21.760
So when I say this morning, I mean this morning at O Dark 30.
00:01:21.920 --> 00:01:25.760
It was 7:30 my time because I'm Pacific time in there, Eastern time.
00:01:26.640 --> 00:01:36.799
And I spent quite a bit of time working on this talk because it took a while for me to download what really needed to be said in this talk.
00:01:37.120 --> 00:01:50.000
And when it finally downloaded, I realized that not only was I going to deliver this talk this morning to CSL Pittsburgh, but I was going to put it in a podcast because I'm being nudged.
00:01:50.079 --> 00:01:53.280
I, you know, those intuitive little intuitive nudges we get.
00:01:53.439 --> 00:01:54.879
I don't know why I'm being nudged.
00:01:54.959 --> 00:01:55.680
I just know I am.
00:01:55.760 --> 00:01:57.920
I'm being nudged to share it with you.
00:01:58.400 --> 00:02:00.000
So here we go.
00:02:00.239 --> 00:02:04.400
The title of this talk is called Being a Possibilitarian.
00:02:04.879 --> 00:02:16.479
And this talk is um the title and the topic comes from our own global vision themes, our global themes through CSL.
00:02:16.960 --> 00:02:25.199
And uh I want to commend the person who created the talk topic and the title and the word possibilitarian.
00:02:25.360 --> 00:02:28.000
It's such a fun word, a little bit of a tongue twister.
00:02:28.240 --> 00:02:30.719
Don't try to say it fast, but we're gonna go.
00:02:30.800 --> 00:02:33.599
And hopefully I won't twist it up when I'm going through here.
00:02:33.919 --> 00:02:36.479
So I'll be real honest with you.
00:02:36.719 --> 00:02:39.120
Limitation frustrates me.
00:02:39.280 --> 00:02:43.919
Now, if you've listened to me before, you know limitation frustrates me.
00:02:44.080 --> 00:02:48.960
I don't like it in my life, and I don't like it in anyone else's.
00:02:49.360 --> 00:02:58.240
And so, yeah, when I saw the title of today's talk, Being a Possibilitarian, I knew this was something I could sink my teeth into.
00:02:58.879 --> 00:03:03.840
Because when we open up to possibilities, we eliminate limitation from our lives.
00:03:04.080 --> 00:03:09.919
And when we eliminate limitation from our lives, life is perfect.
00:03:10.960 --> 00:03:29.919
So later on, at the end of this podcast, I'm going to give you a definition of perfection and see if all of this stuff doesn't tie up together in a nice, neat little ball that's really pretty and shiny and sparkly and full of light.
00:03:30.479 --> 00:03:41.919
So today I want to talk about becoming a possibilitarian through the principle and the practice of oneness and the practice of what if.
00:03:44.080 --> 00:03:48.560
Notice I said oneness is both principle and practice.
00:03:48.639 --> 00:03:49.840
And that's your first hint.
00:03:49.919 --> 00:03:52.080
We're going to talk about oneness a lot.
00:03:52.400 --> 00:03:54.159
Notice I said, what if?
00:03:54.240 --> 00:03:58.159
Um, I'm sorry, did I just say what if is a principle and a practice?
00:03:58.400 --> 00:04:02.000
Okay, what if is just a principle?
00:04:02.240 --> 00:04:08.560
What if is listed in my new book, How to Live Fearlessly Feral, as a spiritual practice?
00:04:08.879 --> 00:04:11.919
Oneness is both principle and practice.
00:04:12.080 --> 00:04:14.080
I want to make that pretty clear.
00:04:14.400 --> 00:04:24.000
Because there's so much more to oneness than the standard brand definition we always use, which of course is there's one God.
00:04:24.800 --> 00:04:25.680
One God.
00:04:25.839 --> 00:04:27.519
That's the definition of oneness.
00:04:27.680 --> 00:04:29.439
Well, there's more.
00:04:30.240 --> 00:04:31.920
There's so much more.
00:04:33.120 --> 00:04:41.759
Oneness, when we live in it as principle, does really cool things like eliminate loneliness from our lives.
00:04:42.240 --> 00:04:45.120
And it opens us up to possibilities.
00:04:45.439 --> 00:04:50.079
Oneness, when used as a spiritual practice, empowers us.
00:04:50.959 --> 00:04:52.079
So how does this work?
00:04:52.160 --> 00:04:54.000
Why can't I say these things?
00:04:54.319 --> 00:04:59.040
Oneness is about more than acknowledging that there is just one, that there is one God.
00:04:59.360 --> 00:05:00.959
That's not all it is.
00:05:01.680 --> 00:05:03.519
That's part of it for sure.
00:05:03.759 --> 00:05:09.279
But in acknowledging that there is one God, we also acknowledge that God is everywhere present.
00:05:09.519 --> 00:05:11.680
There's no place where God is not.
00:05:12.240 --> 00:05:16.000
Thus, God is a part of us and we are a part of it.
00:05:16.240 --> 00:05:18.319
Now think about that for a minute.
00:05:18.560 --> 00:05:23.600
If God is a part of me and God is a part of you, then it is also a part of everyone else.
00:05:23.759 --> 00:05:28.480
Yes, even those people, which makes us all connected.
00:05:28.800 --> 00:05:32.160
Which means there's no separation between me and you.
00:05:33.839 --> 00:05:40.480
When we have this realization that we are connected with God and one with it, how on earth could we ever be lonely?
00:05:41.439 --> 00:05:52.240
I will tell you that if I ever find myself feeling lonely, which I haven't in a very long time, my solution would not be to go out and find a friend.
00:05:52.800 --> 00:05:56.879
My solution would be to reestablish my connection with God.
00:05:57.920 --> 00:06:05.680
Oneness in our connectedness means that what I think and feel affects you, and vice versa.
00:06:05.839 --> 00:06:10.240
This is another aspect of oneness that I don't hear a lot of people talk about.
00:06:10.399 --> 00:06:12.319
I don't hear people speak to this.
00:06:12.560 --> 00:06:21.120
But if God is in me and God is in you, then we are connected on very, very deep levels, quantum levels, if you will.
00:06:21.439 --> 00:06:31.600
And yes, quantum physics has proven to us what I think and feel affects you, and what you think and feel affects me.
00:06:32.480 --> 00:06:36.959
This is where the consciousness of the human race comes in.
00:06:37.759 --> 00:06:41.120
We are one giant ball of consciousness.
00:06:41.439 --> 00:06:57.199
Think about that when you think about what is happening in this country right now, and think about the fact that because of oneness, we have a personal responsibility to watch our thoughts and change them if they are limiting.
00:06:57.439 --> 00:07:08.720
You know, those thoughts that are negative and hateful and you, you, you, and them, them, them, those things are limiting, very, very limiting.
00:07:10.079 --> 00:07:14.879
We need to change those kinds of thinking and moving to solution rather than problem.
00:07:15.439 --> 00:07:18.480
That's how oneness is principle works in our life.
00:07:20.560 --> 00:07:31.759
I also believe that, and this I get this from studying Ernest Holmes extensively, that oneness, as I mentioned earlier, is a spiritual practice.
00:07:32.000 --> 00:07:43.600
Every day is a day in which I consciously reaffirm my oneness, reminding myself that I am one with that force we sometimes call God, and it is one with me.
00:07:44.160 --> 00:07:52.720
On days when I'm feeling particularly separate, in other words, not feeling the oneness, I turn to Ernest Holmes for help with my reminders.
00:07:52.959 --> 00:07:58.720
Because let's face it, without oneness as a beginning, everything else just kind of falls short.
00:07:59.600 --> 00:08:11.839
Plus, there's a tiny little fact that every time we do a treatment or affirmative prayer, the first thing we do is acknowledge the oneness of God, and then we acknowledge our connection with it.
00:08:12.240 --> 00:08:16.639
This oneness thing is scattered throughout our teachings.
00:08:17.360 --> 00:08:18.959
But there's even more.
00:08:25.839 --> 00:08:33.120
Take oneness even further and consider that our power and our empowerment comes from oneness.
00:08:33.679 --> 00:08:40.720
Because if God is everywhere present and manifested in all forms, then it is also manifested as us.
00:08:41.519 --> 00:08:56.720
And if it is manifested as us, then we would not by extension have all, then I'm sorry, if God is manifested as us, then would we not, by extension, have all the power that God has?
00:08:57.440 --> 00:08:59.120
That's oneness, guys.
00:08:59.360 --> 00:09:03.279
We've got the power that God has because God is us and we are it.
00:09:03.519 --> 00:09:05.200
It's we're all one.
00:09:06.799 --> 00:09:08.639
So I'm not just spouting off here.
00:09:08.720 --> 00:09:10.639
I get this from Ernest Holmes.
00:09:10.879 --> 00:09:16.320
And for this talk, I did a lot of deep diving into a book called Love and Law.
00:09:16.480 --> 00:09:23.039
And Love and Law is this really cool little book that's basically a transcription of a lot of the talks that he gave.
00:09:24.240 --> 00:09:30.639
And in this book, he says we need to consider ourselves as the infinite creative power.
00:09:31.360 --> 00:09:37.440
Quote, tonight I want you to consider yourselves as the infinite or creative power.
00:09:38.320 --> 00:09:41.360
There's nothing ambiguous about that, guys.
00:09:42.080 --> 00:09:44.320
If that isn't oneness, I don't know what is.
00:09:44.399 --> 00:09:46.480
And yet we balk about that.
00:09:47.279 --> 00:09:52.240
Tell someone, I'm the infinite and creative power, and they're like, no, go away.
00:09:52.320 --> 00:09:53.200
I don't want to hear it.
00:09:53.279 --> 00:09:54.159
I don't believe that.
00:09:54.320 --> 00:09:55.679
That's sacrilegious.
00:09:55.919 --> 00:09:57.360
Well, I'm sorry.
00:09:57.679 --> 00:10:03.039
I believe it when Ernest Holmes says we are the infinite and creative power.
00:10:03.360 --> 00:10:09.279
And I often wonder why we limit ourselves by discounting suggestions like that.
00:10:11.200 --> 00:10:11.679
Why?
00:10:11.919 --> 00:10:14.320
Why would we limit ourselves that way?
00:10:15.519 --> 00:10:27.840
And I get it, up to a certain point, it's really scary to take responsibility for ourselves by declaring we are one with God, that we are the limited and unlimited and creative and infinite power.
00:10:28.240 --> 00:10:34.399
I remember the first time I got that concept, the first time I felt it deep down within me.
00:10:34.559 --> 00:10:38.799
It was like a punch to the gut, only it didn't hurt.
00:10:39.039 --> 00:10:41.840
It was like it took my breath away.
00:10:42.320 --> 00:10:47.679
And I had to sit there and breathe consciously for a little bit to get my breath back.
00:10:47.840 --> 00:10:49.440
It was that big.
00:10:49.919 --> 00:10:55.919
And the ramifications of feeling that and realizing it and getting that were that big.
00:10:59.279 --> 00:11:02.720
And it was life-changing for me.
00:11:02.799 --> 00:11:08.480
And it's not the first time I've had life-changing spiritual awakenings like that.
00:11:09.039 --> 00:11:10.799
That's just one of many.
00:11:11.440 --> 00:11:14.720
But that particular one changed me.
00:11:14.960 --> 00:11:22.399
It changed me from being what I called a professional victim to an empowered human being.
00:11:24.720 --> 00:11:32.799
I became no longer willing to allow myself to be victimized by anyone or anyone out anything else.
00:11:33.120 --> 00:11:36.559
All of a sudden, I was able to set boundaries and keep them.
00:11:36.960 --> 00:11:41.440
All of a sudden, I was able to tell people you can't treat me like that anymore.
00:11:42.320 --> 00:11:55.120
And all of a sudden, I was able to begin to take responsibility for myself so that there was no need to set boundaries because I was a boundary.
00:11:55.519 --> 00:11:57.279
It's weird when I say that.
00:12:32.480 --> 00:12:42.960
From that point onward, I began thinking of myself as, in Ernest Holmes' words, a unique and individualized manifestation of God.
00:12:43.519 --> 00:12:50.240
I began to know and feel that I was here on earth so that God could experience the physical.
00:12:51.679 --> 00:12:53.759
Talk about being a possibilitarian.
00:12:53.919 --> 00:12:55.039
Oh my God, really?
00:12:55.200 --> 00:12:55.519
Okay.
00:12:56.159 --> 00:13:06.399
Living in oneness like this, having oneness be both the principle upon which I base my life as well as a practice that I indulge in daily.
00:13:06.559 --> 00:13:08.799
There are no limits in my life.
00:13:10.559 --> 00:13:12.240
Well, there are sometimes.
00:13:12.399 --> 00:13:14.080
There are when I forget.
00:13:14.480 --> 00:13:20.480
There are when I forget to practice, to remind myself of my own oneness on a daily basis.
00:13:22.080 --> 00:13:26.240
They are when I forget to live in oneness.
00:13:28.320 --> 00:13:31.279
It's why I keep reading books.
00:13:31.360 --> 00:13:32.879
It's why I keep studying.
00:13:32.960 --> 00:13:34.799
It's why I keep showing up.
00:13:35.200 --> 00:13:36.799
It's because we forget.
00:13:38.720 --> 00:13:40.320
Oh excuse me.
00:13:40.720 --> 00:13:53.120
So when we remember, and we have so many tools to allow us to remember, we can be possibilitarians all the time.
00:13:54.399 --> 00:13:55.919
And I want this for you.
00:13:56.000 --> 00:13:57.919
And Ernest Holmes wants it too.
00:13:58.159 --> 00:13:59.440
He wants it for you.
00:13:59.679 --> 00:14:01.759
I can speak for Ernest Holmes.
00:14:03.519 --> 00:14:09.200
He said in Love and Law, I want to endeavor to show you how you can become less limited.
00:14:09.840 --> 00:14:18.480
And then he says, and he said this in other places too, if you do not believe it works, it will not work because everything is belief.
00:14:21.200 --> 00:14:27.360
What he's saying is that if we are experiencing limitation in our life, it's because we believe in it.
00:14:30.639 --> 00:14:36.960
If we are not living at possibility as possibilitarians, we need to look at our beliefs.
00:14:37.200 --> 00:14:42.159
We need to take a good hard look at them and see what beliefs are limiting us.
00:14:42.320 --> 00:14:48.960
And you know, the thing about beliefs is they got put in place either by ourselves or by others.
00:14:49.200 --> 00:14:52.080
And they served us really well for a really long time.
00:14:52.960 --> 00:14:59.120
But when we change, when we have psychic changes, like we become empowered because we realize we're one with God.
00:14:59.279 --> 00:15:04.960
For example, when we have those aha moments, those old beliefs don't work so well anymore.
00:15:05.279 --> 00:15:08.320
So we get to look at those and change those.
00:15:09.600 --> 00:15:13.840
Well, that's a lot easier said than done.
00:15:14.159 --> 00:15:19.360
Right here in my work with people, I come up against a major source of limitation.
00:15:20.399 --> 00:15:27.679
In spite of the fact that a fundamental element of our teaching is that we change our beliefs to change our lives.
00:15:28.240 --> 00:15:33.919
Many of us do not believe or do not want to change our beliefs.
00:15:34.480 --> 00:15:40.159
I had a practitioner tell me once she was unwilling to change her belief.
00:15:40.720 --> 00:15:47.679
And when we discussed it first further, she used an excuse that said she didn't know how to change it.
00:15:47.840 --> 00:15:50.000
And to me, that was just like an excuse.
00:15:50.159 --> 00:15:51.200
She knew how to change it.
00:15:51.360 --> 00:15:53.360
She's a practitioner for crying out loud.
00:15:53.440 --> 00:15:54.639
We know this stuff.
00:15:54.879 --> 00:16:04.159
She didn't want to change the belief because she was more afraid of who and what she would become when she changed the belief than not.
00:16:06.159 --> 00:16:08.159
So, oneness.
00:16:08.720 --> 00:16:11.519
God is all everywhere present.
00:16:11.919 --> 00:16:13.039
We are part of God.
00:16:13.200 --> 00:16:14.639
God is a part of us.
00:16:14.879 --> 00:16:17.039
Through this, we are empowered.
00:16:17.200 --> 00:16:23.279
Through this, we are through oneness, we are unique and individualized manifestation of spirit.
00:16:23.519 --> 00:16:30.159
Through oneness, what I believe and think and feel and do and say affects you, and vice versa.
00:16:31.120 --> 00:16:36.960
Through oneness, we get to take responsibility for our lives because we are we are that.
00:16:38.000 --> 00:16:42.080
Now, let's introduce what if into this scenario.
00:16:49.360 --> 00:16:54.159
It's why I included what if as a spiritual practice in my latest book.
00:16:54.320 --> 00:17:06.000
By the way, you can buy my latest book, get it in digital version from Amazon.com or from Book Baby if you're boycotting Amazon, bookbaby.com.
00:17:06.319 --> 00:17:08.720
Print version, contact me.
00:17:08.960 --> 00:17:10.720
I'm having distribution issues.
00:17:10.880 --> 00:17:11.839
Well, I'm not having them.
00:17:12.000 --> 00:17:14.640
The book is having them, the publisher is having them.
00:17:14.880 --> 00:17:16.319
I've got books for sale.
00:17:16.480 --> 00:17:27.039
Not only that, but if you're going to the spiritual living convention in Reno on April the 7th, which is a little over a week away, I'll be selling my books there.
00:17:27.200 --> 00:17:29.839
I'll be having I've got a table there and I'm selling my books.
00:17:29.920 --> 00:17:30.640
So come see me.
00:17:30.720 --> 00:17:31.279
Get the book.
00:17:31.599 --> 00:17:32.640
Gotta get the book.
00:17:32.960 --> 00:17:35.039
So what if?
00:17:35.279 --> 00:17:40.000
Let's just play what if and pretend that we're open to changing our beliefs.
00:17:40.319 --> 00:17:46.880
What if we were willing to explore ourselves enough to discover any limiting beliefs we might have?
00:17:47.200 --> 00:17:52.480
And what if we were then willing to enter that beautiful creative process?
00:17:52.799 --> 00:18:02.160
That you know, that thing, that thing right there, that teaching symbol, that that arc of creativity from thought to manifestation?
00:18:02.400 --> 00:18:08.720
What if we were willing to enter that beautiful creative process by changing our beliefs?
00:18:11.039 --> 00:18:15.519
What if we were willing to enter that by creating a new belief in its place?
00:18:19.119 --> 00:18:27.119
What if you believed that you were a unique and individualized manifestation of spirit?
00:18:27.519 --> 00:18:32.880
Put here on earth so that God could experience the physical through you.
00:18:33.039 --> 00:18:34.400
I mean, look around you.
00:18:34.559 --> 00:18:38.720
If God is everywhere present, it is truly everywhere present.
00:18:40.160 --> 00:18:42.799
It's in me, it's in you.
00:18:42.960 --> 00:18:51.039
I'm looking outside my windows, I've got clouds and mountains and a breeze and little quail running across the yard, and nope, there goes a bunny.
00:18:51.599 --> 00:18:54.000
It's in all of that.
00:18:56.640 --> 00:19:02.480
So God experiences the physical through all of its creations.
00:19:03.519 --> 00:19:05.599
Why do you think we're here?
00:19:06.319 --> 00:19:10.000
That's because God needs to experience the physical.
00:19:10.160 --> 00:19:11.759
It's how God works.
00:19:13.200 --> 00:19:18.799
So these kinds of what-if questions are just about the deepest questions we can ask ourselves.
00:19:22.640 --> 00:19:28.000
When we ask what if, we can then move into contemplation about what if indeed.
00:19:32.799 --> 00:19:34.400
What if I were enough?
00:19:35.039 --> 00:19:36.720
Ask yourself that one.
00:19:37.599 --> 00:19:40.240
What if I had healthy self-esteem?
00:19:41.519 --> 00:19:45.920
What if this world was really a world that worked for everyone?
00:19:46.319 --> 00:19:49.519
I know lots of people in this movement who scoff at that statement.
00:19:49.680 --> 00:19:51.039
It's not possible.
00:19:51.519 --> 00:19:53.759
Well, I believe it is possible.
00:19:54.640 --> 00:19:56.400
What if my life were perfect?
00:19:56.640 --> 00:19:58.720
There's that word again, perfect.
00:19:59.680 --> 00:20:02.480
Do you think such things are possible or not?
00:20:02.799 --> 00:20:06.319
We can sit in the quiet and daydream about what these things would really look like.
00:20:06.480 --> 00:20:13.039
We can visualize them, we can feel what it would feel like if they were really true.
00:20:13.599 --> 00:20:16.640
This is called setting a mental equivalent.
00:20:17.039 --> 00:20:24.559
In Love and Law, Holmes says there must be something inside of us which equals the thing that we want to do.
00:20:26.079 --> 00:20:29.680
And the very next sentence he says, water will reach its own weight.
00:20:33.200 --> 00:20:35.599
We're 90% water, guys.
00:20:36.000 --> 00:20:37.599
We attract our own weight.
00:20:37.680 --> 00:20:44.799
So if you're attracting stuff into your life that isn't too much to your liking, look at yourself.
00:20:45.680 --> 00:20:48.559
Change that, and you will attract something different.
00:20:48.880 --> 00:20:51.599
This is what mental equivalence is all about.
00:20:52.000 --> 00:20:57.440
When we change what we're thinking and feeling, and we get a new mental equivalent.
00:20:58.319 --> 00:21:02.160
Now, here's a big mouthful that Ernest Holmes has.
00:21:05.440 --> 00:21:08.640
When he's telling us how to get a mental equivalent.
00:21:09.279 --> 00:21:10.400
Deep breath.
00:21:10.640 --> 00:21:17.039
By practice, meditation, thought, study, intelligence, concentration, inspiration, hope, faith, love, prayer, desire, and work.
00:21:17.200 --> 00:21:18.559
There is no other way.
00:21:19.119 --> 00:21:20.720
That's what he says.
00:21:22.400 --> 00:21:23.599
I'll say it again.
00:21:23.759 --> 00:21:27.039
Ernest Holmes says we get a mental equivalent.
00:21:27.279 --> 00:21:35.039
By practice, meditation, thought, study, intelligence, concentration, inspiration, hope, faith, love, prayer, desire, and work.
00:21:35.119 --> 00:21:36.559
There is no other way.
00:21:38.559 --> 00:21:42.400
So do all of that to get a mental equivalent.
00:21:42.640 --> 00:21:49.359
Or you could go to the Science of My Textbook, in which there is a chapter called Mental Equivalence.
00:21:50.079 --> 00:21:51.920
It's 15 pages long.
00:21:52.160 --> 00:21:53.680
Read that chapter.
00:21:54.079 --> 00:21:59.039
Then contact me and tell me how you plan to create mental equ equivalence in your life.
00:21:59.200 --> 00:21:59.599
I really.
00:22:00.160 --> 00:22:01.279
Really mean that.
00:22:02.880 --> 00:22:09.839
He takes us on a nice little journey through faith and the law of attraction and treatment in that chapter.
00:22:10.559 --> 00:22:22.000
So obviously, when we do the spiritual practice of asking ourselves what if, there's a lot more to it than just asking ourselves what if.
00:22:22.319 --> 00:22:27.039
Asking ourselves what if activates the creative process.
00:22:28.319 --> 00:22:46.960
A process which begins with oneness and moves through contemplation, in which we formulate that mental equivalent and we activate the law of attraction and we move into faith and treatment and we pray, changing our own minds in the process.
00:22:47.119 --> 00:22:52.559
Because remember, Ernest Holmes says prayer changes the mind of the one doing the praying.
00:22:54.319 --> 00:22:58.000
And then we move into the work, you know, the moving of our feet.
00:22:58.160 --> 00:23:02.000
We treat and move our feet, we take action.
00:23:02.559 --> 00:23:17.440
And through it all, we realize our oneness with the one, which is where we get the power to be and do everything necessary to replace anything in our lives, any limitation in our lives, with complete success.
00:23:18.240 --> 00:23:21.279
This is where we become possibilitarians.
00:23:23.119 --> 00:23:32.480
So I want to wrap up this little talk today, this podcast, with what I promised you in the beginning with a definition of perfection.
00:23:34.240 --> 00:23:38.880
I just heard about this a few weeks ago, and I've been thinking about it ever since.
00:23:39.200 --> 00:23:40.480
It goes pretty deep.
00:23:40.720 --> 00:23:41.839
Are you surprised?
00:23:42.160 --> 00:23:43.440
It goes deep.
00:23:43.759 --> 00:23:48.000
Consider that perfection means inclusive of everything.
00:23:50.400 --> 00:23:53.680
In terms of oneness, God is everywhere present and in everything.
00:23:53.839 --> 00:23:56.559
We are a part of God and it is a part of us.
00:23:56.720 --> 00:24:03.440
Oneness is both cause and result of our personal inclusivity.
00:24:03.680 --> 00:24:16.319
So if we practice oneness, if we embody it, if we be it, if we make oneness real in our lives on all levels, then our lives are perfect because everything is included in that.
00:24:19.039 --> 00:24:20.000
Oh my goodness.
00:24:20.160 --> 00:24:21.039
So there you have it.
00:24:21.119 --> 00:24:25.920
There's my take on oneness and be it a possibilitarian.
00:24:26.319 --> 00:24:29.359
And it's not the only place I talk about oneness, by the way.
00:24:29.519 --> 00:24:31.279
I talk about oneness a lot.
00:24:31.440 --> 00:24:38.160
I talk about it in my book as in both the spiritual practice section and the spiritual principle section.
00:24:38.400 --> 00:24:40.319
It's a big deal, oneness.
00:24:40.880 --> 00:24:44.079
So I hope I will see you at the convention.
00:24:44.319 --> 00:24:58.160
If not, I hope we get to communicate via email or send me, you know, a comment on one of my posts or a comment to this podcast and uh reach out to me.
00:24:58.240 --> 00:25:01.440
I'd love to talk to you with you about this stuff.
00:25:01.759 --> 00:25:08.559
So until next time, remember, you don't have to live without fear to lead a powerful life.
00:25:08.880 --> 00:25:14.480
You simply have to stop letting fear be the one holding the reins.
00:25:15.279 --> 00:25:29.119
And if fearlessly feral speaks to your wild and authentic spirit, you can support this ministry through a donation, through membership, or by subscribing to my Substack.
00:25:29.839 --> 00:25:37.519
Supporting what Feeds Your Soul helps it grow stronger in your life and keeps this message moving forward.
00:25:37.759 --> 00:25:44.960
So stay wild, stay awake, stay free, and keep living fearlessly feral.
00:25:45.759 --> 00:25:47.680
Thank you so much.
00:00:02.879 --> 00:00:05.360
Well, hello, hello, hello, everybody.
00:00:05.599 --> 00:00:10.720
This is Reverend Karen, welcoming you to Fearlessly Fair a Living.
00:00:10.960 --> 00:00:23.120
I am broadcasting as usual from the Woogie Ranch in the back 40 of northwestern Nevada, where I'm a good half an hour away from the nearest gas station and the nearest grocery store.
00:00:23.359 --> 00:00:29.519
And wide open space is both a lifestyle and a spiritual teacher.
00:00:30.320 --> 00:00:47.520
This podcast explores real practical ways to apply new thought spiritual principles and practices so that you can create a deeply successful, meaningful life and live creatively, courage, and successfully.
00:00:48.159 --> 00:01:02.479
Fearlessly Feral Living is a focus ministry of Centers for Spiritual Living devoted to cultivating a world where every person lives wild, awake, free, and unapologetically alive.
00:01:04.319 --> 00:01:06.560
So I gave a talk this morning.
00:01:06.799 --> 00:01:14.159
I gave this talk to the uh to CSL Grader Pittsburgh.
00:01:14.400 --> 00:01:17.040
It's a teaching chapter in Pittsburgh, of course.
00:01:17.280 --> 00:01:21.760
So when I say this morning, I mean this morning at O Dark 30.
00:01:21.920 --> 00:01:25.760
It was 7:30 my time because I'm Pacific time in there, Eastern time.
00:01:26.640 --> 00:01:36.799
And I spent quite a bit of time working on this talk because it took a while for me to download what really needed to be said in this talk.
00:01:37.120 --> 00:01:50.000
And when it finally downloaded, I realized that not only was I going to deliver this talk this morning to CSL Pittsburgh, but I was going to put it in a podcast because I'm being nudged.
00:01:50.079 --> 00:01:53.280
I, you know, those intuitive little intuitive nudges we get.
00:01:53.439 --> 00:01:54.879
I don't know why I'm being nudged.
00:01:54.959 --> 00:01:55.680
I just know I am.
00:01:55.760 --> 00:01:57.920
I'm being nudged to share it with you.
00:01:58.400 --> 00:02:00.000
So here we go.
00:02:00.239 --> 00:02:04.400
The title of this talk is called Being a Possibilitarian.
00:02:04.879 --> 00:02:16.479
And this talk is um the title and the topic comes from our own global vision themes, our global themes through CSL.
00:02:16.960 --> 00:02:25.199
And uh I want to commend the person who created the talk topic and the title and the word possibilitarian.
00:02:25.360 --> 00:02:28.000
It's such a fun word, a little bit of a tongue twister.
00:02:28.240 --> 00:02:30.719
Don't try to say it fast, but we're gonna go.
00:02:30.800 --> 00:02:33.599
And hopefully I won't twist it up when I'm going through here.
00:02:33.919 --> 00:02:36.479
So I'll be real honest with you.
00:02:36.719 --> 00:02:39.120
Limitation frustrates me.
00:02:39.280 --> 00:02:43.919
Now, if you've listened to me before, you know limitation frustrates me.
00:02:44.080 --> 00:02:48.960
I don't like it in my life, and I don't like it in anyone else's.
00:02:49.360 --> 00:02:58.240
And so, yeah, when I saw the title of today's talk, Being a Possibilitarian, I knew this was something I could sink my teeth into.
00:02:58.879 --> 00:03:03.840
Because when we open up to possibilities, we eliminate limitation from our lives.
00:03:04.080 --> 00:03:09.919
And when we eliminate limitation from our lives, life is perfect.
00:03:10.960 --> 00:03:29.919
So later on, at the end of this podcast, I'm going to give you a definition of perfection and see if all of this stuff doesn't tie up together in a nice, neat little ball that's really pretty and shiny and sparkly and full of light.
00:03:30.479 --> 00:03:41.919
So today I want to talk about becoming a possibilitarian through the principle and the practice of oneness and the practice of what if.
00:03:44.080 --> 00:03:48.560
Notice I said oneness is both principle and practice.
00:03:48.639 --> 00:03:49.840
And that's your first hint.
00:03:49.919 --> 00:03:52.080
We're going to talk about oneness a lot.
00:03:52.400 --> 00:03:54.159
Notice I said, what if?
00:03:54.240 --> 00:03:58.159
Um, I'm sorry, did I just say what if is a principle and a practice?
00:03:58.400 --> 00:04:02.000
Okay, what if is just a principle?
00:04:02.240 --> 00:04:08.560
What if is listed in my new book, How to Live Fearlessly Feral, as a spiritual practice?
00:04:08.879 --> 00:04:11.919
Oneness is both principle and practice.
00:04:12.080 --> 00:04:14.080
I want to make that pretty clear.
00:04:14.400 --> 00:04:24.000
Because there's so much more to oneness than the standard brand definition we always use, which of course is there's one God.
00:04:24.800 --> 00:04:25.680
One God.
00:04:25.839 --> 00:04:27.519
That's the definition of oneness.
00:04:27.680 --> 00:04:29.439
Well, there's more.
00:04:30.240 --> 00:04:31.920
There's so much more.
00:04:33.120 --> 00:04:41.759
Oneness, when we live in it as principle, does really cool things like eliminate loneliness from our lives.
00:04:42.240 --> 00:04:45.120
And it opens us up to possibilities.
00:04:45.439 --> 00:04:50.079
Oneness, when used as a spiritual practice, empowers us.
00:04:50.959 --> 00:04:52.079
So how does this work?
00:04:52.160 --> 00:04:54.000
Why can't I say these things?
00:04:54.319 --> 00:04:59.040
Oneness is about more than acknowledging that there is just one, that there is one God.
00:04:59.360 --> 00:05:00.959
That's not all it is.
00:05:01.680 --> 00:05:03.519
That's part of it for sure.
00:05:03.759 --> 00:05:09.279
But in acknowledging that there is one God, we also acknowledge that God is everywhere present.
00:05:09.519 --> 00:05:11.680
There's no place where God is not.
00:05:12.240 --> 00:05:16.000
Thus, God is a part of us and we are a part of it.
00:05:16.240 --> 00:05:18.319
Now think about that for a minute.
00:05:18.560 --> 00:05:23.600
If God is a part of me and God is a part of you, then it is also a part of everyone else.
00:05:23.759 --> 00:05:28.480
Yes, even those people, which makes us all connected.
00:05:28.800 --> 00:05:32.160
Which means there's no separation between me and you.
00:05:33.839 --> 00:05:40.480
When we have this realization that we are connected with God and one with it, how on earth could we ever be lonely?
00:05:41.439 --> 00:05:52.240
I will tell you that if I ever find myself feeling lonely, which I haven't in a very long time, my solution would not be to go out and find a friend.
00:05:52.800 --> 00:05:56.879
My solution would be to reestablish my connection with God.
00:05:57.920 --> 00:06:05.680
Oneness in our connectedness means that what I think and feel affects you, and vice versa.
00:06:05.839 --> 00:06:10.240
This is another aspect of oneness that I don't hear a lot of people talk about.
00:06:10.399 --> 00:06:12.319
I don't hear people speak to this.
00:06:12.560 --> 00:06:21.120
But if God is in me and God is in you, then we are connected on very, very deep levels, quantum levels, if you will.
00:06:21.439 --> 00:06:31.600
And yes, quantum physics has proven to us what I think and feel affects you, and what you think and feel affects me.
00:06:32.480 --> 00:06:36.959
This is where the consciousness of the human race comes in.
00:06:37.759 --> 00:06:41.120
We are one giant ball of consciousness.
00:06:41.439 --> 00:06:57.199
Think about that when you think about what is happening in this country right now, and think about the fact that because of oneness, we have a personal responsibility to watch our thoughts and change them if they are limiting.
00:06:57.439 --> 00:07:08.720
You know, those thoughts that are negative and hateful and you, you, you, and them, them, them, those things are limiting, very, very limiting.
00:07:10.079 --> 00:07:14.879
We need to change those kinds of thinking and moving to solution rather than problem.
00:07:15.439 --> 00:07:18.480
That's how oneness is principle works in our life.
00:07:20.560 --> 00:07:31.759
I also believe that, and this I get this from studying Ernest Holmes extensively, that oneness, as I mentioned earlier, is a spiritual practice.
00:07:32.000 --> 00:07:43.600
Every day is a day in which I consciously reaffirm my oneness, reminding myself that I am one with that force we sometimes call God, and it is one with me.
00:07:44.160 --> 00:07:52.720
On days when I'm feeling particularly separate, in other words, not feeling the oneness, I turn to Ernest Holmes for help with my reminders.
00:07:52.959 --> 00:07:58.720
Because let's face it, without oneness as a beginning, everything else just kind of falls short.
00:07:59.600 --> 00:08:11.839
Plus, there's a tiny little fact that every time we do a treatment or affirmative prayer, the first thing we do is acknowledge the oneness of God, and then we acknowledge our connection with it.
00:08:12.240 --> 00:08:16.639
This oneness thing is scattered throughout our teachings.
00:08:17.360 --> 00:08:18.959
But there's even more.
00:08:25.839 --> 00:08:33.120
Take oneness even further and consider that our power and our empowerment comes from oneness.
00:08:33.679 --> 00:08:40.720
Because if God is everywhere present and manifested in all forms, then it is also manifested as us.
00:08:41.519 --> 00:08:56.720
And if it is manifested as us, then we would not by extension have all, then I'm sorry, if God is manifested as us, then would we not, by extension, have all the power that God has?
00:08:57.440 --> 00:08:59.120
That's oneness, guys.
00:08:59.360 --> 00:09:03.279
We've got the power that God has because God is us and we are it.
00:09:03.519 --> 00:09:05.200
It's we're all one.
00:09:06.799 --> 00:09:08.639
So I'm not just spouting off here.
00:09:08.720 --> 00:09:10.639
I get this from Ernest Holmes.
00:09:10.879 --> 00:09:16.320
And for this talk, I did a lot of deep diving into a book called Love and Law.
00:09:16.480 --> 00:09:23.039
And Love and Law is this really cool little book that's basically a transcription of a lot of the talks that he gave.
00:09:24.240 --> 00:09:30.639
And in this book, he says we need to consider ourselves as the infinite creative power.
00:09:31.360 --> 00:09:37.440
Quote, tonight I want you to consider yourselves as the infinite or creative power.
00:09:38.320 --> 00:09:41.360
There's nothing ambiguous about that, guys.
00:09:42.080 --> 00:09:44.320
If that isn't oneness, I don't know what is.
00:09:44.399 --> 00:09:46.480
And yet we balk about that.
00:09:47.279 --> 00:09:52.240
Tell someone, I'm the infinite and creative power, and they're like, no, go away.
00:09:52.320 --> 00:09:53.200
I don't want to hear it.
00:09:53.279 --> 00:09:54.159
I don't believe that.
00:09:54.320 --> 00:09:55.679
That's sacrilegious.
00:09:55.919 --> 00:09:57.360
Well, I'm sorry.
00:09:57.679 --> 00:10:03.039
I believe it when Ernest Holmes says we are the infinite and creative power.
00:10:03.360 --> 00:10:09.279
And I often wonder why we limit ourselves by discounting suggestions like that.
00:10:11.200 --> 00:10:11.679
Why?
00:10:11.919 --> 00:10:14.320
Why would we limit ourselves that way?
00:10:15.519 --> 00:10:27.840
And I get it, up to a certain point, it's really scary to take responsibility for ourselves by declaring we are one with God, that we are the limited and unlimited and creative and infinite power.
00:10:28.240 --> 00:10:34.399
I remember the first time I got that concept, the first time I felt it deep down within me.
00:10:34.559 --> 00:10:38.799
It was like a punch to the gut, only it didn't hurt.
00:10:39.039 --> 00:10:41.840
It was like it took my breath away.
00:10:42.320 --> 00:10:47.679
And I had to sit there and breathe consciously for a little bit to get my breath back.
00:10:47.840 --> 00:10:49.440
It was that big.
00:10:49.919 --> 00:10:55.919
And the ramifications of feeling that and realizing it and getting that were that big.
00:10:59.279 --> 00:11:02.720
And it was life-changing for me.
00:11:02.799 --> 00:11:08.480
And it's not the first time I've had life-changing spiritual awakenings like that.
00:11:09.039 --> 00:11:10.799
That's just one of many.
00:11:11.440 --> 00:11:14.720
But that particular one changed me.
00:11:14.960 --> 00:11:22.399
It changed me from being what I called a professional victim to an empowered human being.
00:11:24.720 --> 00:11:32.799
I became no longer willing to allow myself to be victimized by anyone or anyone out anything else.
00:11:33.120 --> 00:11:36.559
All of a sudden, I was able to set boundaries and keep them.
00:11:36.960 --> 00:11:41.440
All of a sudden, I was able to tell people you can't treat me like that anymore.
00:11:42.320 --> 00:11:55.120
And all of a sudden, I was able to begin to take responsibility for myself so that there was no need to set boundaries because I was a boundary.
00:11:55.519 --> 00:11:57.279
It's weird when I say that.
00:12:32.480 --> 00:12:42.960
From that point onward, I began thinking of myself as, in Ernest Holmes' words, a unique and individualized manifestation of God.
00:12:43.519 --> 00:12:50.240
I began to know and feel that I was here on earth so that God could experience the physical.
00:12:51.679 --> 00:12:53.759
Talk about being a possibilitarian.
00:12:53.919 --> 00:12:55.039
Oh my God, really?
00:12:55.200 --> 00:12:55.519
Okay.
00:12:56.159 --> 00:13:06.399
Living in oneness like this, having oneness be both the principle upon which I base my life as well as a practice that I indulge in daily.
00:13:06.559 --> 00:13:08.799
There are no limits in my life.
00:13:10.559 --> 00:13:12.240
Well, there are sometimes.
00:13:12.399 --> 00:13:14.080
There are when I forget.
00:13:14.480 --> 00:13:20.480
There are when I forget to practice, to remind myself of my own oneness on a daily basis.
00:13:22.080 --> 00:13:26.240
They are when I forget to live in oneness.
00:13:28.320 --> 00:13:31.279
It's why I keep reading books.
00:13:31.360 --> 00:13:32.879
It's why I keep studying.
00:13:32.960 --> 00:13:34.799
It's why I keep showing up.
00:13:35.200 --> 00:13:36.799
It's because we forget.
00:13:38.720 --> 00:13:40.320
Oh excuse me.
00:13:40.720 --> 00:13:53.120
So when we remember, and we have so many tools to allow us to remember, we can be possibilitarians all the time.
00:13:54.399 --> 00:13:55.919
And I want this for you.
00:13:56.000 --> 00:13:57.919
And Ernest Holmes wants it too.
00:13:58.159 --> 00:13:59.440
He wants it for you.
00:13:59.679 --> 00:14:01.759
I can speak for Ernest Holmes.
00:14:03.519 --> 00:14:09.200
He said in Love and Law, I want to endeavor to show you how you can become less limited.
00:14:09.840 --> 00:14:18.480
And then he says, and he said this in other places too, if you do not believe it works, it will not work because everything is belief.
00:14:21.200 --> 00:14:27.360
What he's saying is that if we are experiencing limitation in our life, it's because we believe in it.
00:14:30.639 --> 00:14:36.960
If we are not living at possibility as possibilitarians, we need to look at our beliefs.
00:14:37.200 --> 00:14:42.159
We need to take a good hard look at them and see what beliefs are limiting us.
00:14:42.320 --> 00:14:48.960
And you know, the thing about beliefs is they got put in place either by ourselves or by others.
00:14:49.200 --> 00:14:52.080
And they served us really well for a really long time.
00:14:52.960 --> 00:14:59.120
But when we change, when we have psychic changes, like we become empowered because we realize we're one with God.
00:14:59.279 --> 00:15:04.960
For example, when we have those aha moments, those old beliefs don't work so well anymore.
00:15:05.279 --> 00:15:08.320
So we get to look at those and change those.
00:15:09.600 --> 00:15:13.840
Well, that's a lot easier said than done.
00:15:14.159 --> 00:15:19.360
Right here in my work with people, I come up against a major source of limitation.
00:15:20.399 --> 00:15:27.679
In spite of the fact that a fundamental element of our teaching is that we change our beliefs to change our lives.
00:15:28.240 --> 00:15:33.919
Many of us do not believe or do not want to change our beliefs.
00:15:34.480 --> 00:15:40.159
I had a practitioner tell me once she was unwilling to change her belief.
00:15:40.720 --> 00:15:47.679
And when we discussed it first further, she used an excuse that said she didn't know how to change it.
00:15:47.840 --> 00:15:50.000
And to me, that was just like an excuse.
00:15:50.159 --> 00:15:51.200
She knew how to change it.
00:15:51.360 --> 00:15:53.360
She's a practitioner for crying out loud.
00:15:53.440 --> 00:15:54.639
We know this stuff.
00:15:54.879 --> 00:16:04.159
She didn't want to change the belief because she was more afraid of who and what she would become when she changed the belief than not.
00:16:06.159 --> 00:16:08.159
So, oneness.
00:16:08.720 --> 00:16:11.519
God is all everywhere present.
00:16:11.919 --> 00:16:13.039
We are part of God.
00:16:13.200 --> 00:16:14.639
God is a part of us.
00:16:14.879 --> 00:16:17.039
Through this, we are empowered.
00:16:17.200 --> 00:16:23.279
Through this, we are through oneness, we are unique and individualized manifestation of spirit.
00:16:23.519 --> 00:16:30.159
Through oneness, what I believe and think and feel and do and say affects you, and vice versa.
00:16:31.120 --> 00:16:36.960
Through oneness, we get to take responsibility for our lives because we are we are that.
00:16:38.000 --> 00:16:42.080
Now, let's introduce what if into this scenario.
00:16:49.360 --> 00:16:54.159
It's why I included what if as a spiritual practice in my latest book.
00:16:54.320 --> 00:17:06.000
By the way, you can buy my latest book, get it in digital version from Amazon.com or from Book Baby if you're boycotting Amazon, bookbaby.com.
00:17:06.319 --> 00:17:08.720
Print version, contact me.
00:17:08.960 --> 00:17:10.720
I'm having distribution issues.
00:17:10.880 --> 00:17:11.839
Well, I'm not having them.
00:17:12.000 --> 00:17:14.640
The book is having them, the publisher is having them.
00:17:14.880 --> 00:17:16.319
I've got books for sale.
00:17:16.480 --> 00:17:27.039
Not only that, but if you're going to the spiritual living convention in Reno on April the 7th, which is a little over a week away, I'll be selling my books there.
00:17:27.200 --> 00:17:29.839
I'll be having I've got a table there and I'm selling my books.
00:17:29.920 --> 00:17:30.640
So come see me.
00:17:30.720 --> 00:17:31.279
Get the book.
00:17:31.599 --> 00:17:32.640
Gotta get the book.
00:17:32.960 --> 00:17:35.039
So what if?
00:17:35.279 --> 00:17:40.000
Let's just play what if and pretend that we're open to changing our beliefs.
00:17:40.319 --> 00:17:46.880
What if we were willing to explore ourselves enough to discover any limiting beliefs we might have?
00:17:47.200 --> 00:17:52.480
And what if we were then willing to enter that beautiful creative process?
00:17:52.799 --> 00:18:02.160
That you know, that thing, that thing right there, that teaching symbol, that that arc of creativity from thought to manifestation?
00:18:02.400 --> 00:18:08.720
What if we were willing to enter that beautiful creative process by changing our beliefs?
00:18:11.039 --> 00:18:15.519
What if we were willing to enter that by creating a new belief in its place?
00:18:19.119 --> 00:18:27.119
What if you believed that you were a unique and individualized manifestation of spirit?
00:18:27.519 --> 00:18:32.880
Put here on earth so that God could experience the physical through you.
00:18:33.039 --> 00:18:34.400
I mean, look around you.
00:18:34.559 --> 00:18:38.720
If God is everywhere present, it is truly everywhere present.
00:18:40.160 --> 00:18:42.799
It's in me, it's in you.
00:18:42.960 --> 00:18:51.039
I'm looking outside my windows, I've got clouds and mountains and a breeze and little quail running across the yard, and nope, there goes a bunny.
00:18:51.599 --> 00:18:54.000
It's in all of that.
00:18:56.640 --> 00:19:02.480
So God experiences the physical through all of its creations.
00:19:03.519 --> 00:19:05.599
Why do you think we're here?
00:19:06.319 --> 00:19:10.000
That's because God needs to experience the physical.
00:19:10.160 --> 00:19:11.759
It's how God works.
00:19:13.200 --> 00:19:18.799
So these kinds of what-if questions are just about the deepest questions we can ask ourselves.
00:19:22.640 --> 00:19:28.000
When we ask what if, we can then move into contemplation about what if indeed.
00:19:32.799 --> 00:19:34.400
What if I were enough?
00:19:35.039 --> 00:19:36.720
Ask yourself that one.
00:19:37.599 --> 00:19:40.240
What if I had healthy self-esteem?
00:19:41.519 --> 00:19:45.920
What if this world was really a world that worked for everyone?
00:19:46.319 --> 00:19:49.519
I know lots of people in this movement who scoff at that statement.
00:19:49.680 --> 00:19:51.039
It's not possible.
00:19:51.519 --> 00:19:53.759
Well, I believe it is possible.
00:19:54.640 --> 00:19:56.400
What if my life were perfect?
00:19:56.640 --> 00:19:58.720
There's that word again, perfect.
00:19:59.680 --> 00:20:02.480
Do you think such things are possible or not?
00:20:02.799 --> 00:20:06.319
We can sit in the quiet and daydream about what these things would really look like.
00:20:06.480 --> 00:20:13.039
We can visualize them, we can feel what it would feel like if they were really true.
00:20:13.599 --> 00:20:16.640
This is called setting a mental equivalent.
00:20:17.039 --> 00:20:24.559
In Love and Law, Holmes says there must be something inside of us which equals the thing that we want to do.
00:20:26.079 --> 00:20:29.680
And the very next sentence he says, water will reach its own weight.
00:20:33.200 --> 00:20:35.599
We're 90% water, guys.
00:20:36.000 --> 00:20:37.599
We attract our own weight.
00:20:37.680 --> 00:20:44.799
So if you're attracting stuff into your life that isn't too much to your liking, look at yourself.
00:20:45.680 --> 00:20:48.559
Change that, and you will attract something different.
00:20:48.880 --> 00:20:51.599
This is what mental equivalence is all about.
00:20:52.000 --> 00:20:57.440
When we change what we're thinking and feeling, and we get a new mental equivalent.
00:20:58.319 --> 00:21:02.160
Now, here's a big mouthful that Ernest Holmes has.
00:21:05.440 --> 00:21:08.640
When he's telling us how to get a mental equivalent.
00:21:09.279 --> 00:21:10.400
Deep breath.
00:21:10.640 --> 00:21:17.039
By practice, meditation, thought, study, intelligence, concentration, inspiration, hope, faith, love, prayer, desire, and work.
00:21:17.200 --> 00:21:18.559
There is no other way.
00:21:19.119 --> 00:21:20.720
That's what he says.
00:21:22.400 --> 00:21:23.599
I'll say it again.
00:21:23.759 --> 00:21:27.039
Ernest Holmes says we get a mental equivalent.
00:21:27.279 --> 00:21:35.039
By practice, meditation, thought, study, intelligence, concentration, inspiration, hope, faith, love, prayer, desire, and work.
00:21:35.119 --> 00:21:36.559
There is no other way.
00:21:38.559 --> 00:21:42.400
So do all of that to get a mental equivalent.
00:21:42.640 --> 00:21:49.359
Or you could go to the Science of My Textbook, in which there is a chapter called Mental Equivalence.
00:21:50.079 --> 00:21:51.920
It's 15 pages long.
00:21:52.160 --> 00:21:53.680
Read that chapter.
00:21:54.079 --> 00:21:59.039
Then contact me and tell me how you plan to create mental equ equivalence in your life.
00:21:59.200 --> 00:21:59.599
I really.
00:22:00.160 --> 00:22:01.279
Really mean that.
00:22:02.880 --> 00:22:09.839
He takes us on a nice little journey through faith and the law of attraction and treatment in that chapter.
00:22:10.559 --> 00:22:22.000
So obviously, when we do the spiritual practice of asking ourselves what if, there's a lot more to it than just asking ourselves what if.
00:22:22.319 --> 00:22:27.039
Asking ourselves what if activates the creative process.
00:22:28.319 --> 00:22:46.960
A process which begins with oneness and moves through contemplation, in which we formulate that mental equivalent and we activate the law of attraction and we move into faith and treatment and we pray, changing our own minds in the process.
00:22:47.119 --> 00:22:52.559
Because remember, Ernest Holmes says prayer changes the mind of the one doing the praying.
00:22:54.319 --> 00:22:58.000
And then we move into the work, you know, the moving of our feet.
00:22:58.160 --> 00:23:02.000
We treat and move our feet, we take action.
00:23:02.559 --> 00:23:17.440
And through it all, we realize our oneness with the one, which is where we get the power to be and do everything necessary to replace anything in our lives, any limitation in our lives, with complete success.
00:23:18.240 --> 00:23:21.279
This is where we become possibilitarians.
00:23:23.119 --> 00:23:32.480
So I want to wrap up this little talk today, this podcast, with what I promised you in the beginning with a definition of perfection.
00:23:34.240 --> 00:23:38.880
I just heard about this a few weeks ago, and I've been thinking about it ever since.
00:23:39.200 --> 00:23:40.480
It goes pretty deep.
00:23:40.720 --> 00:23:41.839
Are you surprised?
00:23:42.160 --> 00:23:43.440
It goes deep.
00:23:43.759 --> 00:23:48.000
Consider that perfection means inclusive of everything.
00:23:50.400 --> 00:23:53.680
In terms of oneness, God is everywhere present and in everything.
00:23:53.839 --> 00:23:56.559
We are a part of God and it is a part of us.
00:23:56.720 --> 00:24:03.440
Oneness is both cause and result of our personal inclusivity.
00:24:03.680 --> 00:24:16.319
So if we practice oneness, if we embody it, if we be it, if we make oneness real in our lives on all levels, then our lives are perfect because everything is included in that.
00:24:19.039 --> 00:24:20.000
Oh my goodness.
00:24:20.160 --> 00:24:21.039
So there you have it.
00:24:21.119 --> 00:24:25.920
There's my take on oneness and be it a possibilitarian.
00:24:26.319 --> 00:24:29.359
And it's not the only place I talk about oneness, by the way.
00:24:29.519 --> 00:24:31.279
I talk about oneness a lot.
00:24:31.440 --> 00:24:38.160
I talk about it in my book as in both the spiritual practice section and the spiritual principle section.
00:24:38.400 --> 00:24:40.319
It's a big deal, oneness.
00:24:40.880 --> 00:24:44.079
So I hope I will see you at the convention.
00:24:44.319 --> 00:24:58.160
If not, I hope we get to communicate via email or send me, you know, a comment on one of my posts or a comment to this podcast and uh reach out to me.
00:24:58.240 --> 00:25:01.440
I'd love to talk to you with you about this stuff.
00:25:01.759 --> 00:25:08.559
So until next time, remember, you don't have to live without fear to lead a powerful life.
00:25:08.880 --> 00:25:14.480
You simply have to stop letting fear be the one holding the reins.
00:25:15.279 --> 00:25:29.119
And if fearlessly feral speaks to your wild and authentic spirit, you can support this ministry through a donation, through membership, or by subscribing to my Substack.
00:25:29.839 --> 00:25:37.519
Supporting what Feeds Your Soul helps it grow stronger in your life and keeps this message moving forward.
00:25:37.759 --> 00:25:44.960
So stay wild, stay awake, stay free, and keep living fearlessly feral.
00:25:45.759 --> 00:25:47.680
Thank you so much.
