ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Ellen Pratt-Harris is an urban planner, public servant and Executive Director of the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Presidential Center for Women and Development in Liberia. What was meant to be a one-month holiday in the United States became a sixteen-year absence when war broke out at home. Her next visit to Liberia was for the historic inauguration of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
Ellen later returned to contribute to rebuilding her country, bringing her experience in urban planning and development to government, entrepreneurship and public service. Today, she leads an institution investing in the next generation of African women leaders.
This episode explores how our experiences of home shape our leadership, the work of rebuilding institutions, and the importance of developing a new generation of African women leaders.
