Speaker 1: All right, and welcome into the Fantasy Pros NFL Draft Show. We've made it to Draft week, which meets smokescreen season is officially upon us, so we'd got one final NFL mock draft coming your way, pinning us pros against the consensus. I'm hero Seth Wilcock, coming off a night of burning that midnight oil, finishing up my final mock draft article of the season, and back with me is my co host, who is also in the lab late putting those finishing touches on both his NFL Draft tight End primer and the Top one hundred big board. He's down, Tad Derek Brown, Debro Here we are the final sprints upon us. How many energy drinks deep are we as of Monday morning right now?
00:00:40
Speaker 2: Half of one, but you know we'll be into two or three by the end of the day.
00:00:45
Speaker 1: Man.
00:00:45
Speaker 2: Yeah, we were up, both of us. We were texting talking about this show late last night, getting things all lined up for our fantastic guest and putting the finishing touches on a lot of content. So as the recording this the Top one hundred, so all one hundred skill players, quarterback, running back, wide receiver, tight end should be live on Fantasy bros dot Com for myself as well as my tight end prospect primer. So all the primers are live. The top one hundred lat is live. It's Draft week, boys.
00:01:15
Speaker 1: Let's go.
00:01:17
Speaker 3: We made it.
00:01:18
Speaker 1: And also back with us is a man who's only ever hyped up on pre workout and create a team, because that's just what you do when you're a properly jacked individual. Yes, he's the owner and COO of Fantasy Points and the host of First Read and officially a new dog dad as well. He's Brett Whitefield. Brett, thanks for joining us yet again? How are you? Is your organization seemingly back to you into a corner and added a franchise player just ahead of the NFL Draft.
00:01:42
Speaker 3: Yeah, I had the brilliant idea of buying a dog the week before the draft. So now we're training said dog while I have all these shows and right up to do. Yeah, it was a really good decision on my part.
00:01:54
Speaker 1: Hey, well that's what happens. Yeah, that's what happens when you got an owner over there who pulling the strings like your wife probably is Brett, right, Yeah.
00:02:02
Speaker 3: And fortunately.
00:02:05
Speaker 2: Are really they're the ones pulling all the strings, you know, collect the collective Jerry Jones of the house, as it were.
00:02:11
Speaker 1: There you go, And as noted on today's program, we're gonna do a collaborative mock draft. As a team, we're gonna go head to head against mock draft databases, consensus mock And if you enjoy this type of content, don't forget to subscribe to the Fancy Pros Dynasty YouTube channel and give this video a thumbs up as well. And if you're just here for the NFL talk you don't play fantasy, consider subscribing to the brand new audio and YouTube channel for the Tailgate. That's our new spots talk general NFL happenings with our friends. And let's go ahead and get this draft fired up with the Las Vegas Raiders officially on the clock along the shores of the Allegheny River and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania right now. Of course, the consensus has had it the whole way through Fernando Mendoza quarterback from IU going to Las Vegas. Brett any changes here for you, any last minute trade is anything that you think maybe he does a rug pole here for Fernando.
00:03:02
Speaker 3: Let's swap mount for Ty Simpson, I'm kidding on do we have?
00:03:08
Speaker 2: Are you embodying or possessed by the ghost of Dani Rolovski right now? What's going on here?
00:03:13
Speaker 3: No, I'm totally kidding. This one's been written in ink since January, so might as well just keep chucking.
00:03:18
Speaker 1: Okay, So at number two, then it's the New York Jets. A lot of smoke over the last week or so that this could be a David Bailey selection. However, now the odds have actually swung back into RVL Reese, a linebacker and edge rusher for Ohio State's odds. So, Derek, do you think it is Reese? Do you think it's Bailier? Maybe a different wildcard coming up.
00:03:37
Speaker 2: So I want to be also very clear about how we're doing this mock. This is what we would do versus the consensus. This is not predictive what we think the teams are going to do, although those two things will line up. And so Seth, I know you're tossing this to me, but I want to toss this to Brett because he has his finger on the pulse of all things Aaron Glenn since he was with the Lions. I think that we can meet in the middle of the best of both worlds. Like for me, this would be a Ruben Baine or a Sonny Styles for me. But I'm curious how both of those players would line up Brett and who would be the top person on the board if you were in the room sitting next to Aaron Glenn.
00:04:16
Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, this is what's so tricky about the pick, and predictively it's this is impossible for me. I know the betting on say Arvel Reese, but what I know about Aaron Glennis Arvrell Reese is not really an Aaron Glenn guy, Like, he doesn't really play the position Aaron Glenn, you know, the way the way he coaches it up. So I think Arvel Reese is such a heavy projection. It's it's hard in general to slot a guy like that. But then you combine the fact that ag is one of the most stubborn play callers in the league, stubborn head coach who has very specific criteria for what he wants, and a player that said, I don't think David Bailey fits either. So I'm I've been mocking Sonny Styles herein and if I were of the one making the pick, I would say Sonny Styles, but.
00:05:00
Speaker 2: Let's do it, baby, Sonny Styles, because that's it's between him and Bain. For me, because I feel like, why are we getting so cute in a class where we talk about like blue chip and positional need and all like just take Like, if you're the Jets, there's so many different directions you can go. Let this roster that just take the best freaking player on the board. And so Sonny Styles, Yes, come on down, let's go.
00:05:24
Speaker 1: Okay, you're talking about getting cute, and then you want a guy with a little t Rex arms shouting room in Bain's name over there?
00:05:29
Speaker 2: What do you do production in these streets? We like production set?
00:05:33
Speaker 3: All right?
00:05:34
Speaker 1: Well, players are important, so all right, well it is Sony Styles off the board. Then at number two to the Jets, Arizona Cardinals right now on the clock, the consensus pick currently David Bailey Edge ad Texas Tech. However, we woke up to a flurry of Adam Schefter tweets that Arizona not only in deep consideration to move this pick, but if they do stick and pick, it could be Jeremiah love Bratt. I know you've actually been someone kind of above consensus on where Jeremiah Love can go. Is this the landing spot for him here?
00:06:07
Speaker 3: Sure? Yeah, I mean I think it's gonna be tough between him and Bailey, you know, if the board falls this way. But you know, I think Arizona for sure should consider it. I think the problem with me, or the problem for me, is they just signed Taylor lg or they still have James Connor on a rework contract. It's not like the cupboards bear there. But I think if you're if you're a new head coach. I know Manty Austin Ford has been there for a while, but if you're a new head coach, like the goal should just be take the best player you can. And in this class specifically, there's no blue chip prospects at you know, premium positions. So I think that said Sony Sony style is off the board. In this this mock, Jeremiah Love is probably the next best player in the class. I think maybe just go ahead and do it.
00:06:48
Speaker 1: Derek, what do you think? Do you see the Cardinals alt and if you're in that seat, would you go with an offensive player in Love when you have guys like Trey Benson, Algi or James Connor kind of in that room, or does this mean or we grab one of those falling addressers.
00:07:03
Speaker 2: I'll just ask you straight up, man, are any of those running backs needle movers? If you're going to if the Cardinals do and they're the betting favorites to take ty Simpson, so we say that they either do that at the back end of the first round or the top of the second round. However you want to frame that adding a Jeremiah Love level talent to this offense with Trey McBride, Michael Wilson, Marvin Harrison Junior, and then you air drop a quarterback into that situation, dude, And people talk about the right tackles, they could easily just JOHNA. Williams is still hanging out at his house right now. They could resign him. They could address right tackle. Whether it's second, third round, what have you and stuff. Yes, let's just go ahead and take Jeremiah Love here, Like let's add to the cupboard of skill players to air drop possibly Tye Simpson into this situation. Brett, what are your thoughts on that? Like, I mean, like if you're if we kind of the same logic like that people are applying to give Cam ward another weapon like this offensive situation to put a young quarterback into.
00:08:06
Speaker 3: Dude, come on, yeah, it's tough. This is tough because I'm I'm never going to be pro taking a running back in the top ten of any draft, don't care how the running back is. Yeah, but this class is very unique in that it's like, well, you're not you wouldn't be taking him to pass on like some awesome talent at edge or at offensive tack or quarterback. So if there's a class that ever makes sense for it is this one. So I'm totally cool with that. You know, I think the logic that you just, you know, painted just checks out. You know, if Cardinals come back in for a quarterback, well you want to set that guy up for success. So o, line'es in decent shape. They've got pass catchers. Now let's get the run game going.
00:08:41
Speaker 2: Let's go.
00:08:41
Speaker 1: My Love off the board, and at number four here comes to the Tennessee Titans. Of course, the consensus pick here is Jeremiah Love. So, Derek, I ask you, Arvo Reese, David Bailey on the board, Bob Sala wanting to maybe add a big defensive presence to that front. Is that where they go with one of those edge rushers falling, or is this maybe, hey, let's try to give cam Ward than that weapon. It's not Jeremiah Love, but maybe it's someone else.
00:09:07
Speaker 2: I think Brian dave Ball is in the draft room' about to have a corn area because Jeremiah Love just went me, this is add the weapon for cam Ward. Let's give him a guy whether you know over multiple years, whether he's a wide receiver, one wide receiver two in the NFL. For me, the pick is Carninal Tate here. Considering how the board kind of kind of lines up with Tennessee spending a ton of capital this offense and trying to remake their defense adding to the D line, could they go that direction? Yeah, they easily could go that direction. But I want to take the pass catcher. Give me Carneal Tate Brett. What are your thoughts on that? Like where do you stand? Like? Are you with Tate or are you going edge here? Are we going to duke it out?
00:09:50
Speaker 3: I would go David Bailey here. I think for sure, Robert salav being the D line guy. Bailey's exactly how he molds the DNS that speed rush. He's actually very similar to Jamaine Johnson from Florida State, who Robert Sola was with the Jet staff when they drafted him, obviously traded for him this offseason. So I would personally go David Bailey. I love Carnel Tait though I think he's awesome, but I like what I got from elek Au Minor as a rookie last year. We spent big money on Waldell Robinson, and we have Kelvin Ridley still in the fold along with the CHIMERI dka. If you want to add a pass catcher to the room, that's fine. I don't think we have to do it here at pick four. I think I kind of want to see how that unit develops together.
00:10:28
Speaker 2: All right, let's take Bailey here then.
00:10:30
Speaker 1: Okay, we got two Tennessee Titans general managers in the room. You guys fit the bill. Let me tell you what you look at that team photo. I think we could squeeze you and really easy. Maybe we'll get Cali or Ethan to do something like that on the socials. I think it would be a good little something fun we could put out there this week. And let's go to the Giants, which this now sets up for them very very interesting. Of course, they made the move this week that hey, well let's get Dexter Lawrence out of town and let's bring in that tenth overall pick. So two picks in the next six for the Giants. Brett, what do you think the move is here? Is it r Vel Reese all the way down at five, or is it hey, may we do pivot to pass catcher?
00:11:08
Speaker 3: Yeah, they don't really have a spot for Rvel. Reason like, you could play them an off ball linebacker exclusively and that would probably work. However, they did bring in Tremade Edmunds in the offseason. They paid him big money. They have three, you know, really dynamic edge rushers and Brian Burns, Cavon Thibodeau and Abdual Carter, So I think that's probably off the board. I'm tempted to say Carnal Tate. There's rumors that they love Jordan Tyson. Obviously they could probably grab Tasting at ten, So I'm inclined to say best player available here. We're just gonna stick with it. Go Caleb Downs say from Ohio State that de.
00:11:40
Speaker 1: Bro you know, I have a lot of money riding on Downs to be the top defensive back. Pretty much. I had to head with him and Delane. So I'm completely on board with this. Are you as well that John Harball potentially grabs a player that could be his next ed Reed?
00:11:55
Speaker 2: I think so. And the big thing is like need to be an upgrade or to get an asset there where you can upgrade a position like Tyra Nuban's not scaring anybody on the back end, man, Like they can definitely need the help with the secondary. So I think it's where you know value BPA lineup. Let's go Caleb downs here at.
00:12:12
Speaker 1: Five, okay, And here it is Sony Weaver back on the clock. The Cleveland Browns are here. I watched the first a few scenes of Draft night just to like or Draft Day last night, just kind of like start feeling the vibes right, and uh, you know those Cleveland vibes, guys, they're not great. It's a little chilly up here along the shores of Lake Erie today as well. So Derek, with that in mind, what is the move. It's not like they really need another pass rusher, but there's a good one falling.
00:12:40
Speaker 2: Yeah, you can't go pass rush here, I mean, unless you know they do something wild and end up trading Miles Garrett or something like that. So for me, this comes down to it's the same conversation we've been having for most of the off season. It is tackle versus wide receiver. What does that look like? Do you take your tackle one off your board or do you take wide receiver. I'm honestly like, I think you know, and I've said this the entirety of the class that like, I think Carnell Tate is in a tier of his own. So the fact that he's falling to six, I'm wanting to just take Tate here and figure it out later in the first round for tackle, especially with like you know, you got Howard. You could play him at left. He's better at right, but he could play you know, there's versatility there. So I'm not saying that you want to put him in left tackle, but in a pinch, could you squint and maybe do it? Fine? So I mean, for me, I leave Carnell Tit here, But Brett, where are you at?
00:13:31
Speaker 3: I'm fine with Carnel Tate here. I was I was gonna make the case for a left tackle like a Caden Proctor or a Monroe Freeling. But I'm totally fine going Tate here and then and crossing our fingers at twenty four for a tackle.
00:13:42
Speaker 1: Yeah, I completely agree. I originally had them going tackle here in my mock draft one point zero two point zero, I did have them going Tate because, like you look at this pass catching group is led by Harold Fan and Junior Right and he's still ranked forty first in the league in receiving artists was seven thirty one. So whoever that Cleveland future franchise signal caller is, whether Chador Sanders, whether we're gonna take one more ride on that Deshaun Watson experience, or it's someone different. I think they could use a pass catcher. So Carnel Tate is the play there. Let's go ahead and keep things moving with the next pick. We now have the Washington Commanders back on the board. And this is really interesting, right because I think everyone feels that they would love to add a new playmaker for their quarterback there in JD. Honey. However, not really, you know, a great value I think on the you don't like JD. Honey, you don't like the name, you don't like to drink Derek?
00:14:31
Speaker 3: What? What?
00:14:31
Speaker 1: What? What?
00:14:32
Speaker 3: Episode? Glad Derek reacted to that because I was like, what the hell did he say?
00:14:35
Speaker 2: I was looking at my second screen and it just hit the ears different. I was like, what this is?
00:14:42
Speaker 1: I will say the comments also don't enjoy the name JD honey, but nothing's wrong with little Jack Daniel Huney oil once in a while, So I don't.
00:14:49
Speaker 3: Mean the comments is undefeated.
00:14:51
Speaker 2: And actually I don't usually lean with it, but I think they're right here.
00:14:54
Speaker 3: Brett, Yeah, we can't. We can't be calling Jamie Daniels JD honey that you got a better neck name.
00:15:00
Speaker 1: I'll take one and go with Jada Daniels JD. What I mean, please, you're right there, you got the JD, just had the honey, JD honey.
00:15:12
Speaker 2: You can't do it.
00:15:12
Speaker 1: It's so weird. So Bratt, we do have Washington on the board here, What is the move? Because it feels like now RVL Reese has fallen down? Is that the pick? Because they do need a pass rusher.
00:15:25
Speaker 3: I feel like, yeah, this has been my landing spot for Reese for a while now, just because the low hanging fruit of dan Quinn was the guy to turn Micah Parsons into Micah Parsons, right, Michael Parsons was drafted to Dallas as an off ball linebacker. Quinn saw the big picture vision converted him to that hybrid addresser and then eventually, you know, Parsons doesn't play any off ball linebacker anymore. And I think that's the proper pathway for RVL Reese where he starts in that hybrid role. That hybrid role that dan Quinn is implemented everywhere he's gone, whether it's Seattle, Dallas, Atlanta, and now in Washington. So I think this is the low hanging for of the draft if I I want Arvell Reese to succeed, and I'm worried about the projection because this guy has less than twenty pass rush wins on the outside versus offensive tackle in his college career less than twenty, So we are talking massive projection right, So like, but for him to succeed, I think landing with dan Quinn is probably the best range of outcomes for him. And so I love this. I think it's my favorite pick of the mock.
00:16:22
Speaker 1: Derek, do you like that as well? With Caleb Downs the consensus pick off the board? You like them going Reese?
00:16:27
Speaker 2: Yep, totally with Reese for everything that Brett laid out the only other like, if I were to pivot to anything out of left field, it would be Monster de Laane because Dan Quinn, as much as he likes the archetype of Barville Reees, it would be also. I mean, they've been screaming for a top corner, but I think a lot of their moves in the off season, like having Sanders still's there, is still bringing in a Meek like they probably feel better about their cornerback room than me, so and I think it's workable. I'll say that as well. But Arville Reese, like this is the landing spot that you would hope for, Like this is kind of a vver dream thing for me. So I'm with you, I'm with Brett here, Let's go Reese.
00:16:59
Speaker 3: Okay.
00:17:00
Speaker 1: Number eight overall, the consensus pick is Reuben Bain, junior edge out of Miami. I gotta say, boys, like, I think that might be the play here at this point in the draft because I think he can immediately slide in front of whether that's offensive line or outside linebacker Carl Granerson, Chase Young, I think either of those, and I think him and Brian Brees would be a really good combo for a team that just lost an all timer edge like Cam Jordan. So Brett, are you on that mindset of Baine or do they maybe you know, squeak out a pass catcher here.
00:17:28
Speaker 3: Yeah, Bain's got to be either this pick or the next pick. He's my favorite player in this draft. Probably the way he plays is violent. Now I love violent players. I'm not saying he's the best player in the draft. He's just my favorite. M hm. I absolutely love Bane and I think landing in an odd front situation like the Saints where they can't use them in an inside at five technique he kind of put my player come from is Michael Bennett from the Legion of Boom Saints. Okay, it's this hybrid edge slash five tech guy he can kick in play three tech on pass rushdowns like that's Bane to me. Very similar build and body composition. So I think landing in a scheme that's gonna use use that player, I think is ideal for Bain.
00:18:07
Speaker 2: Derek Bret's on point. I mean, as a Saints fan, I would be cheering this pick. I think Bain is it's the production, it's the power, it's everything man like and plus the lines up with the need like the Saints need some pass rust juice, Like are we expecting like Chase Young Like I know they didn't, but Carl Granderson, We've been doing this year after year after year. So give this defense what it truly needs. Let's go Bain.
00:18:30
Speaker 1: Would this be enough to lure you back to Saints fandom, Derek?
00:18:33
Speaker 2: I mean I wouldn't be like grabbing the pitchfork and lighting it on fire like previous years with Mickey Loomis. So I mean, you know that's good.
00:18:40
Speaker 1: Maybe a Saints jersey in your future is what I'm hearing. Tyler Schuff jersey.
00:18:44
Speaker 2: I'm not gonna go that far, especially not on air.
00:18:47
Speaker 1: No, Okay, all right, he'll he'll keep his uh, he'll keep his fandom away from the gum smacker down there. And if if you want to Tyrone Tracy sign New York Giants jersey for free Curtisy of our good friends over Pristine Auction dot Com. Is that something in you're told about at all?
00:19:21
Speaker 2: No?
00:19:22
Speaker 1: No, no, come.
00:19:24
Speaker 2: On, I mean, let's uh. I will not trade down, only up. I mean just quote him in that.
00:19:31
Speaker 3: That was pretty close.
00:19:32
Speaker 2: Yeah, pretty I mean the man is literally quoted in, like, go google it, people, he will not trade down. He will not trade back in an NFL draft. Oh gosh, don't give me on a tangent here.
00:19:44
Speaker 1: All right, let's go ahead, let's break some tension. Let's go to the Kansas City Chiefs consensus. Pick mansword Delane cornerback here coming out of LSU and guys is definitely an interesting position. I think the Chiefs find themselves in because they absolutely could use a cornerback after trading their best one away this offseason. How hover, like, I think Jordan Tyson very much in play here. I'll be honest, like, I'm not buying the smoke that we heard a couple of weeks ago where he was falling. Now we're hearing, hey, he was meeting with the Giants. Down there at his pro day, and like the Chiefs here, like Roshie Rice, his rookie deal's going to end this offseason. He's all got those alleged offield incidents worthy non ex receiver like it's Tayekwon Thornton right now in your ex and he had a great season but only caught fifty one point four percent of his target So, Brett, can I make the case for Tyson? Is that something you would sign off on? Or do you think they have to go cornerback here?
00:20:34
Speaker 3: I don't think they have to do anything. I think the rosters relatively decent shape, and they do have two first round picks, But like, would I be mad if they took Jordan Tyson here or no. I think Tyson's worthy of the pick, but I think Monsieur Delaine is just too perfect for what they got going on. I know they feel, like like Derek said, with Washington, where they probably like their cornerback room better than the public. I think Kings City probably feels the same way. Right they had they drafted Noel Williams last year. They have some guys in with depth that are gonna slide into those starting spots. But I don't think they can afford to pass on a premier talent at cornerback like a Monster Delaine. I think he's awesome and total spags guy as well. Can play press, man, can play off zone, you can leave him on an island. He can blitz, he can tackle. So I really think this is that this has to be the pick if the board falls this way, Derek.
00:21:20
Speaker 2: I emphatically agree, and no, there's I can't make a case for Jordan Tyson here. Look, I understand the upside and stuff like that. The other thing is, you know, I think he has areas that he needs to grow in his game, and trying to put him in that type of role in year one I think could be problematic. And I think Monster Delaine is just too good of a fit. But the other thing and talking about the cornerback room for the Chiefs, like I'm still like puzzled Brett, but like what happened with Christian Fulton last year, Like he wasn't playing, he was in, he was out of the lineup, like what happens with him and stuff like that, So maybe like they don't feel as good. I don't know, man, but Delaine, I just can't pass up man like he gives you a lot of things that, like we're with mcduffy that you lost, like the ability, like if you wanted to ask him to go shadow somebody and take away at number one, Delanne could do that for you, and Spags would be just salivating at that.
00:22:12
Speaker 3: Very similar player to McDuffie. Actually, any if they do draft Delane and they and they like Christian Fulton again, well Delane can plain the nickel Sulkan know Williams. So I think you're kind of getting the best of both worlds there.
00:22:23
Speaker 2: All right, so we are not going Tyson Seth.
00:22:25
Speaker 1: Sorry, okay, okay, hey, well that's okay because at number ten, the consensus pick is Jordan Tyson. He was whined and dined by Joe Shane. I want to I want to bring it up. Is Tyson the move here? Because I also would like to maybe have my guy from Penn State, Vega, Iwana enter the chat because look like Evan Neil that this guy's a bust. Like I know there's two tackles on the on the board, but Evan Neil brought back on a veteran minimum deal, no guaranteed money due they did bring in Daniel Falala, but this is a guy coming from Baltimore on also on a one year deal, so I think they got to protect Jack and Dart one way or the other. I kind of like their tackles. I just don't like their interior of that offensive line. So, Brett, do you have any any issues maybe going guard here, going wide receiver or where'd you opt for one of those tackles? Big fran Or Spencer who's falling?
00:23:13
Speaker 3: I mean, falle was a starter for John Harbaugh for four years, and I think they probably like left guard center combos, so I would say they probably pass. I'm I want to hear even though he is a stud, absolute stud. The name I'm gonna invoke since, by the way, this is a what we would do. Yes, we're battling consensus. Yes, I think wide receivers the play, but I think it's casey conception.
00:23:35
Speaker 2: Don't go baby, yes emphatically, yes, hell, yes, let's go.
00:23:45
Speaker 1: We're so we're saying that the Joe Shane just took Jordan Tyson out just for just to you know, just get some tax right off stairs.
00:23:52
Speaker 2: Say what Joe Shane wants to do. I don't care if he sucks after this year, he might not be the GM of the Giants. Yeah.
00:24:02
Speaker 3: Well, and by the way, everyone's reporting John Harbaugh's the one making the pick, not Joe Shane.
00:24:07
Speaker 2: So hell yes.
00:24:10
Speaker 3: Also and this mock, I'm making the pick, So who cares?
00:24:13
Speaker 2: I am the captain now, baby, let's go.
00:24:16
Speaker 1: But is Casey your wide receiver too? And what do you think the thought process is with the fit with the Giants?
00:24:22
Speaker 3: Yeah, the thought process is that Casey's awesome and can do everything. So you want to talk about unrealized potential on the field, This guy had some of the worst quarterback play I've ever seen, whether that was at North Carolina State or Texas A and M. His twenty four tape at North Carolina State was comical where just quarterback play was awful. But also that system is so archaic. It runs through their tight ends, they're actually their h back, and it's it's just a gross offensive system. So I think Casey's awesome. He can he can route guys up, he's I think he's the best player after the catch in the draft. And you know, separation plus run after catch plus body control, that's like, you're a real high level prospect for me. And in fact, I have it Tate and Casey really close together, and I think there's a massive tear drop after that.
00:25:08
Speaker 1: So okay, all right, well, I mean, if that's the case, like think about maybe Casey Concepcion second wide receiver drafted, because those odds are probably pretty high right now, you could get a pretty nice return on that. Let's go to eleven here with Miami Dolphins, Derek. Very interesting situation here because the consensus pick is a big fran malanoa out of Miami. However, we do have a couple of wide receivers still on the board they might be intrigued by and at the same time, maybe they get old frisky and reach at cornerback because we all know they liked the lane a lot. But he did not fall here. So what do you think the move is for the new general manager head coach combination down there in South Beach.
00:25:46
Speaker 2: For me, if I was running things, it would be addressed to trenches. And so I'm gonna kick this over to Brett, who's the best fit for what Miami wants to do offensively in the run game and pass pro wise, Like, I know, we can make it. Ca Maia, go we make a case for Fano, are you with those guys? Are we going a different direction here where?
00:26:05
Speaker 3: I mean?
00:26:05
Speaker 2: For me, it's O line.
00:26:08
Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's O line for sure. And you know the GM coming over for the Packers. Uh, it's basically Packers south now right and yep. Yeah. Gotta think about the way the Packers have drafted O line. They love versatile pieces that can move around. So I think that immediately puts you on you know, Maui Noa or Fano. I'm gonna go Maui Noah here. I think Austin Jackson's a descending player. I think Larry Borham was better when he started for them last year than Austin Jackson, who's their paid right tackle, and Maui Noah. At worst, he's your starting right guard as a rookie while Austin Jackson continues to play right tackle, and then I think you drafted your right tackle of the future. As you know, eventually they'll depart and let Austin Jackson go. So I'm going, Francis Mawina, let's go.
00:26:51
Speaker 2: Okay, I'm with it.
00:26:53
Speaker 1: Number twelve Dallas Cowboys on the board. This is another interesting one. What does Jerry Jones do I actually think like this another team that like low key, I don't know how they're feeling right now at tackle, Like I think there's some big conversations like is Tyler guiding the real deal? Struggled to miss nine games in his two seasons since being drafted in the first round in the twenty twenty four NFL Draft, So I honestly think Fanu is someone who could come in and protect that Dak Prescott blind side. However, you never know what the Cowboys are gonna do here, Derek, So do you have an early lean on what maybe the play is for Dallas? Do they go Jamal McCoy the consensus pick coming off that torn acl.
00:27:31
Speaker 2: No, I actually want to go deal. Indianam in here with. I think he's a great versatle piece. The athleticism, the ability to play single high, and that skill set. Brett, what do you think I mean?
00:27:43
Speaker 3: I love Dylan Fiana man. I think he's a phenomenal. He's a chess piece on defense, he can play I guess Purdue tape is awesome, playing mostly you know, deep safety, free safety, single high, a lot of two high split safety stuff. And then at Oregon he was a box safety slash Nickel and he's a turnover forcing machine. I mean, I haven't thought about Dylan here at all, but since Derek's got the strong take, let's just go with it.
00:28:07
Speaker 2: Him versus McCoy, Like, do you think McCoy is a good enough like like as far as like turn a run corner, like can he play enough zone in this scheme? Like?
00:28:15
Speaker 3: I mean, I mean, McCoy's awesome. He's probably the most physically gifted corner in the draft. But you know he's best that press man and Dallas doesn't play any press man.
00:28:26
Speaker 1: So yeah, okay, okay. Well, there we have the Oregon cor safety going off the board there at twelve overall, another bit of a surprising pick, the Boys using some of their chops getting these teams the best players available. Next up we have the Los Angeles Rams at thirteen overall. The consensus, of course, and the betting odds leaning towards wide receiver in this particular case mkay Lemon wide receiver out of USC the twenty twenty five ballont to Cop Award winner brat. Is that where you think you want to go for the Rams? Or is this another place that hey, maybe they do address the offensive line.
00:29:00
Speaker 3: I would go offensive line here over mackay Lemon for sure. Let's start with the fact that they have Warren McLendon at right tackle, who was a nice story last year, played really well for them, and maybe he holds onto that right tackle job. But you look at the right guard situation, you know they have a stud in Kevin Dotson. He's a free agent after this year. The Rams are cap strapped. I don't know that they'll be able to retain him anyways, So Fano at least comes in. He probably wins the job at right tackle because I don't trust Warren McLendon to repeat what he did last year. And even if even if that's not true, he plays right guard for you and you're you're fixing the spot either way. The Rams are really savvy about getting after future needs before they become problems. It's it's one of things, one of the things they do really well. So I think, you know, getting a guy that played right tackle right guard here makes a lot of sense.
00:29:48
Speaker 2: Derek, I'm totally with that. I mean, I think, like again, like everybody's like addressing needs before the problems the Rams. How many times have we seen it over the last few years with the offensive line is crumbled, and the last thing want Stafford to do if you really truly have Super Bowl aspirations, is running for his freaking life at this point with I'm not saying like a bad back, but it's it's definitely not amazing. So you don't want to absorbing hits like yeah, let's go Spencer Fano here, dude.
00:30:13
Speaker 1: Okay, Next up we have on the board the Baltimore Ravens at fourteen. Overall, this I actually think is a really active potential trade zone for them. I think if there are some players that go off the board here on that offensive side of the ball, they might want to get out. However, they kind of have the pick of the litter here, right. They have Ione, who is the consensus pick at a Penn State, and they also have their pick of wide receiver if they want to go that way. Derek at any strong lean one way or the other for the new look jesse mentor led Baltimore Ravens.
00:30:45
Speaker 2: So here's my question to Brett, how much man do you think they're gonna play in Baltimore? Brett, do you think McCoy or are we going just with the chalk pick because I don't think the consensus is wrong here, like I think Ione it would be fantastic for Balton more and if it's a need. But I guess, like talking shop here, how much man do we think they run under mentor and stuff like that. I know that it hasn't been a high priority.
00:31:11
Speaker 3: They're gonna play some man, for sure, but I think they're already set up with the room. They got to play man.
00:31:16
Speaker 2: Yeah, that's gery.
00:31:17
Speaker 3: Humphrey's great and man Chudobi a Wuse was at his best in that Bengals defense where they played a ton of man back in the day. So I you know, I feel pretty And they got depth to bilal Coney they drafted last year. The year before that, they took TJ. Tampa in the fourth round, So I feel like they probably liked their top five guys. I can't you know. Maybe they always surprised us, right, so maybe they would go to Jermad McCoy. But I do think the names you gotta talk about here probably like a vega Ion, a, a Jordan Tyson, maybe even a Kenyan Sadik. I think I can make the argument for Kenyan sidek.
00:31:48
Speaker 2: Here Sadig makes a freaking ton of sense too. Man Sadique was also a player. I was kind of rattling around because Mark Andrews, what does he have left in his career at this point? And you're getting ahead of a previous need plus like the tight end depth.
00:32:00
Speaker 3: Chart, have a two on the whole roster.
00:32:04
Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean like the Beretta even bodies. So like Sadik versus Ione's what's that fun here, Brett, Let's go Sidik.
00:32:13
Speaker 3: Okay, Sadik.
00:32:14
Speaker 1: It is all right, Kenyan Sadik off the board. Next up, Tampa Bay Buccaneers fifteen overall. I've said it before, but I really think the hot seat is heating up there down in Tampa Bay. For Todd Bowles is a defensive minded head coach that they've been outside the top fifteen in scoring defense, in UH yards per game defense as well the last two seasons. So, Brett, what is the pivot here? For Tampa Bay? They have their pick of the letter if they want to Mike Evans replacement, but they also have a couple of good edges still on the board.
00:32:46
Speaker 3: This is if the board falls like this. This is one of the hardest picks to make. I feel like we gotta start talking about a key mesitor here. Yes, yes, ye, well, oh yes, actually okay, cool yep.
00:33:00
Speaker 2: I was gonna say, is this a run the card up moment for us Brett if Mezzador is there, because I kind of feel like it is.
00:33:06
Speaker 3: For sure, could be the probably like I don't know that anyone's sprinting the card up for a twenty four year old, but whatever, I.
00:33:12
Speaker 1: Think he's gonna be twenty five by I think he's turned down five maybe this week or something. But either way, I think the good thing about Mezzador brand i'd love to hear, like you're announced. I think he's closer to a finished product like he's to me. He's not like a guy like Keldric Falk, who is really a project. He's someone who you kind of know what you're getting. He's an adult coming into the room.
00:33:30
Speaker 3: Well, he's a he's a play for your day one guy.
00:33:33
Speaker 1: For sure.
00:33:34
Speaker 3: The finished product thing I'm unsure of because of his journey, Like you have to remember, he was a a nose tackle prospect at West Virginia. True, he was over three hundred pounds, dropped a bunch of weight to play three techniques, then gets to Miami. They move him back to nose tackle, then he drops a bunch of weight, then he gets injured, and then he comes back like sub two sixty and an absolute demon off the edge, like totally weird arc here, And so I think there's an argument to be made that he still isn't at his peak because he's only been playing true edge for a year or two and just kind of adjusting to his new body. And I know people laughing me when I say that, but it's a real thing. Like you go from three hundred and ten plus pounds down to two sixty's that's massive difference. So I think he's just scratching the surface athletically of what he can even do. So he is older, but I do think there's still a developmental curve there that's favorable for him, and he's already a really good technician, So I think I think it's a win win.
00:34:26
Speaker 1: Derek. Where are you at?
00:34:27
Speaker 3: Here?
00:34:27
Speaker 1: Are you in line with consensus?
00:34:28
Speaker 2: Mezador? That's where I'm going.
00:34:31
Speaker 1: Okay, mezzador for Derek, and next up on the clock here sixteen. Overall, we have the New York Jets consensus right now for them is Omar Cooper Junior. Does that sound right too, Debro, because it feels I've always been on the mindset. I don't think Cooper's that much better than Elijah Sirat, and I just feel like middle of the First feels a bit rich for him, especially now in this MAK where we do have a couple even maybe higher profile wide receivers falling.
00:34:59
Speaker 2: I love that Bret's act like because he saw the look that I gave except oh Man, so the Jets like this is you can make a lot of different cases for like I think I think they probably feel better about their offensive line as far, especially like the guard positions than I do. Dude, this this feels like, I don't want to say, sprint the card up, but as much like as man like, they need upgrades in the cornerback room. I don't want to see another year of Brandon Stevens if I'm Aaron Glenn and company. Plus the ability to run more man coverage and actually be good at it and get takeaways. For me, this is Jermal McCoy.
00:35:40
Speaker 1: I also like Jermal McCoy aiding Terrell I think also should be in the mix year because four.
00:35:46
Speaker 2: Six, dude, he's not going in round one after a four to six. Okay, especially over McCoy. That's that that I don't see that happening, Brett, uh, I have.
00:35:57
Speaker 3: I have a hard time believing Glenn could could hold back here on Jamald McCoy pressman corner for AG Are you kidding me? Like? Yeah, yeah. Plus the injury discount we know those those former lines and lines love the injury discounts, right, So, and people keep saying he's coming off a torny ACL. It was like eighteen months.
00:36:14
Speaker 2: I was like, are we yeah.
00:36:18
Speaker 3: Right, Like, he's not coming off at ACL anymore. It's he's officially recovered and probably could have played towards end the last season if he wanted to. So anyways, here we go.
00:36:27
Speaker 1: Okay, we have the second half of our mock draft coming your way, But first a quick reminder that you can join us for our Day one NFL Draft live stream on Thursday, April twenty third at seven thirty pm Eastern Time right here on the Fantasy Pros YouTube channel at YouTube dot com slash Fantasy Pros for our coverage throughout all Round one. 00:37:19
Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I wish we could have flipped this. Maybe you were doing the man on the street and stuff with yours or you'd be extremely happy with that. But no, man, it's gonna be a blast ton of fun this week.
00:37:29
Speaker 1: I'll tell you what I think. It's if I were the man on the street in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, my home city, I think things might go south. I might end up in the river by the end of the stream. So you know, I think I was protecting the company type of move, which I.
00:37:43
Speaker 2: Appreciate you in those IPAs. Man, No, not me.
00:37:47
Speaker 1: Never, Let's go ahead. Those seventeen overall Detroit Lions back on the board. The consensus Pitt Cane Proctor, offensive tackle out of Alabama. This is one where like, I'm pretty in agreeance with Derek, Like, it's hard for me unless you want to go Monroe Freeling. I think that's probably just because, like I don't trust Larry Borim at left tackle, specifically after that run game, kind of the efficiency decreased, Chared Goff, his sacks increase. I think it is an offensive tackle across from Sewel. I just think maybe it's Freeling and not Proctor. What do you think here?
00:38:18
Speaker 2: I'm not even weighing in on this right now. I'm turning this to the man in the chair. I'm turning this to Brett. I Am not going to sit here and make a like no, no, no, no. This is the man in the chair. This is Brett Whitefield's pick for the Detroit Lions. This is his team, dude, now not stepping on toes.
00:38:34
Speaker 3: I will say, if the board falls like this with the Lions, Brad Holme's gonna be doing jumping Jackson's office. He's gonna be excited because he's got Monroe Freeling there, He's got Caden Proctor there, he's got vega Ione there. I mean pretty much it could go better for what Detroit needs. I'm gonna throw a wild card out here, though. I'm not gonna go freeling. I'm not gonna go Caden Proctor because I do think that the Lions really like Larry borm at right tackle, and I feel like they think they can tackle depth.
00:39:00
Speaker 2: Oh are you going to draft?
00:39:02
Speaker 3: No, I'm gonna go vega Ione to play.
00:39:05
Speaker 1: Yeah, let's go.
00:39:07
Speaker 3: I think he's the safest offensive lineman in the class. I think he's gonna be a great ceiling. I'mong the offensive lineman in the class. I think he's awesome. And I think you know they're moving Pine Stool to the left tackle. Larry Borne is gonna play red tackle for you, and I think you put together a left side of Pennae vega Cade Mays at center. Lookout NFL. Jamior Gibbs is gonna run for two thousand yards.
00:39:28
Speaker 2: Yeah, And I mean rat Ledge played really good last year in season like yeah, I mean, oh, I'm with this.
00:39:39
Speaker 3: It gets them. It restores them back to their identity of who they want to be. Last year they got away from it. I think Jamior Gibbs average three yards of carry the final six games of the season. That can't ever happen again. And you don't fix that by drafting Monroe Freeling. You fix that by drafting vega Ione.
00:39:54
Speaker 2: I love this, love this so much.
00:39:56
Speaker 1: The Minnesota Vikings koc on the board of eighteen overall consensus pick Dylan Finnemon is gone right now, the safety out of Oregon. So, Derek, what is the often move? Is it, hey, maybe you want someone like McNeil Warren in the board, you know, in the club out of Toledo. Or is it, hey, like, let's just keep restalking this wide receiver covered that's you know, get a little bit more bare. They lost their wide receiver three this year in free agency to the Las Vegas Raiders. Or is this maybe a completely different play that we're not even thinking about.
00:40:27
Speaker 2: Oh man, there's so many different ways I could go with this pick, because I think the Vikings have more needs than a lot of people think. Like, I just look at this roster and I see like there's definitely high end talent in a number of spots. There's also a lot of needs in a lot of spots. You know, I think they again going back to like have we talked about it. I think they feel better about their cornerback room than maybe I do, So I don't want to go corner here, Okay, I can make a case for wide receiver like Jordan Tyson is very intriguing here, like because you know they get two more years Jordan Addison, whatever they want to do with the quarterback situation. I think it puts you in a good spot there, but it feels kind of more like a luxury pick. It does the thing about it that that's still kind of hanging out the wind. Like I don't know if Harrison Smith, like we've all talked about the entirety of this offseason that he's going to retire, I don't know, he might still come back, Like he has not announced anything. He might come back for another year. The glaring need and Brett, I'm curious your thoughts on this, Like I look at this roster and I'm like, bro, like we need edge or we needed to de tackle here, like their defensive line is quietly like in need of some serious help. Am I wrong here?
00:41:37
Speaker 3: No? I'm glad you said it because Ed, No one's mocking them an edge. No, you're rid Of Grenard too, saying, what do you got?
00:41:45
Speaker 2: Nothing? Right?
00:41:46
Speaker 3: They're they're looking at trade, John Grennard. Dallas Turner has not been a thing yet. Andrew Van Gingkle's on an expiring deal. What is the planet Edge long term? We don't have one, guys. So, I mean Dallas Turner might be turned out to be fine, right, but I think we gotta we gotta throw you know, we need some talent there at Edge, and I would look at Keldrick Falk or somebody else, even a Malachi Lawrence type. I'm looking through my board right now. Or Derek, you did mention interior too. What about a Peter Woods type of a three tech that can get after the passer like they're starting Tirian Ingram Dawkins and Levi Drake Rodriguez. I don't even know who that second guy is. And I scout three hundred prospects a year, so like, what are we doing? Okay?
00:42:29
Speaker 1: Well, yeah, I mean, look, I've been a Picker Woods guy. I think Tom Allen and how he deployed him this past year was a criminals ignorant ignorant. Yeah, So if you want to go Peter Woods, I'm cool with that, I think T. J. Parker also makes some sense here too. But if you want to want Peter Woods, what's going fired up here?
00:42:45
Speaker 2: Brett?
00:42:46
Speaker 3: I like Woods for the ceiling play. I think Parker is good, but I don't think he's got a super high ceiling. Let's go Woods for the ceiling, Peter, and I agree with you Woods. Woods usage is here was literally an arrestable offense. So the whole, the whole Clemson team regress and it was because of coaching, not because the players.
00:43:01
Speaker 2: So Clemson was a walking brain fart this year. It was horrible.
00:43:04
Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what happens when you overpay a defensive coordinator from Happy Valley base. Sometimes he gets stuck with the bag down there in Dabbo. So hey, sorry, I mean we also might have overpaid the steel Ohio State's offense or defensive corner that did no not the best stuff for us, So we might be in that, uh that brand as well. Let's go to nineteen here, Carolina Panthers consensus, Pitt Kenyon side tight end out of Oregon off the board. So what is the move, Derek? I mean lots of things. I mean, I think to me, like you got Jordan Tyson. You got makay Lemon sitting on the board. I think it's gonna be very hard to go different direction unless it's an edge like t J. Parker or Keldrick Falk.
00:43:44
Speaker 2: I'm in between a fault like going with Keldrick Falk here like they've addressed their a ton of their defense this offseason. The other shout out that I'll give here too, and really we just talked to the table. Brett is. If you look at the history of players coming back from Pateller tenon injuries, it is a graveyard. So I don't think you can really sew in. You have one year of Rashid Walker, you have Ihyakwanu like who knows what the rest of his career looks like. You could also sell me on tackle here.
00:44:16
Speaker 3: Hmm hmmm. Interesting. I hadn't thought about tackle for them. I'd been kind of with Seth here, right. I think it's this is actually and I'm not a big McKayle lemon guy. I think this actually might be the mkaya Lemon spot should look at. You know the strengths of Tedoroa, McMillan and Jalen Kocher. I think we got to just be done with Xavier Leguet and get that true dedicated slot player who's going to give you plus reps as a run blocker. Two. So I feel like for all the teams in the first round, this makes the most sense for Kayle lemon Sole for this specific situation. Yeah, I think Tyson's a little little teto or redundant, Okay, and not that, not that that's a bad thing that you know, Tetron was awesome, but yeah, two of those guys, that's great. But I think Makai gives them that extra dynamic with, you know, a dedicated slot player who's got that toughness and run after catchability. And I think Canalis He's typically thrived with those types of players, and that's what they wanted to get to be a big, you know, supercharge horse version of that. It just hasn't worked out.
00:45:14
Speaker 2: So so I I just and I don't disagree with anything anything you laid out there. My only worried about it about lemon is do they do they learn from the mistakes of previous years or do they repeat them again? Because drafting Legette and putting him and expecting him to be an ex receiver, it's like did you watch any of us a route runner? Like, did you watch any of his collique tape? Like why didn't they put him as a big slot, let him get crossers and run away from dudes and all these different parts of pieces. It's like, I like, that's where it's like, I'm not saying that Dave Canellis is not a good offensive mine, but some of the things we can also call out where you're like, what the hell are you doing?
00:45:59
Speaker 3: Dude? Yeah? And you know what else is frustrating to that point, Derek, when when they drafted the Get, they asked him about the raw skill set and he said, canal said, he does everything I need him to do already, and he mentioned the run after catch stuff. He mentioned the crossers and the shallows and the goal balls, like that's what my offense favors. Then they never used them. They never did any of it. Yeah, it's like, hey, go run a really precise dig route on a dagger concept, you know, and sink and explode through your break and no, like that's never done that before. So that looked bad. I don't know. So to your point, maybe they don't learn from their mistakes, and maybe for that reason we should go a different direction, But I don't know. I'm opening to feedback from you, guys. I see.
00:46:41
Speaker 2: The only thing I'll push back to is I like, I would really like the fit with Jordan Tyson and Tedorro McMillan. I think you have different skill sets here where you could get the run after Catcheduff as well as the inside outside versatility with Tyson versus with the way that they deployed ted Row and he's more of a ball winner, you can get more birdicality. Like some of the questions that I have about Tyson's game and how that evolves. I actually think he's a better fit here stylistically than even a Makaye Lemon. But again, like I just I worry about mkayle Lemon and what Caroline is gonna do, whether it's condensed formations or putting him in the slot enough, Like I just worry because I mean you and I have talked off here. I worry about like again, like is he a good stylistic fit also with heroic Like sure, I just think you're giving yourself an out for more ceiling here with Jordan Tyson.
00:47:33
Speaker 3: I don't disagree.
00:47:34
Speaker 1: It's as tough as I guess I will break the tie, and and partially because my Pittsburgh Steelers are coming up on the clock, and just another pick. Let's go, lemon here, let's go, let's keep Tyson on the board, Let's keep the slide going. One more pick? How about how about that?
00:47:49
Speaker 2: Well, so now the Cowboys is all I heard?
00:47:52
Speaker 3: Well, I was just gonna say I was gonna do that anyways, So.
00:47:57
Speaker 1: Yes, yes, yes, So the consent consensus pick here at twenty is Keldric falk Edge out of Auburn. You're saying, Brett, hey, they use that top ten or top twelve pick they had on defense already and Theneman grabbing that safety to anchor that secondary. You think it could be Jordan Tyson here to add in the room with George Pickens and Ceed Lamb.
00:48:18
Speaker 3: Yeah, you get those three for a year and then you say goodbye to George Pickens, Electra comp pick and everyone's a great day.
00:48:23
Speaker 2: Yes, you don't have to pay Pickens. You reset the thing. You give yourself more salary cap relief as far as not having to pay both Lamb and Pickens. And do you really want to make Pickens a paid man? Like? Is that really what you want to do tie yourself long termed him and we've already seen the Cowboys kind of did this previously, like Cooper and Lamb and.
00:48:43
Speaker 1: Yeah, I just yes.
00:48:45
Speaker 2: Because the other thing about the edge stuff like could you like bring like I think Jadavian Clowney still like sitting out there in the ether. Could you sign him back in Dallas he was very good for them last year, or bringing you know, anybody else that can help address a pass ra So yes, Jordan Tyson here.
00:49:01
Speaker 1: Okay, all right, slam dunk twenty one. We have the Pittsburgh Steelers in their hometown on the board. Consensus pick Tye Simpson, quarterback Alabama. However, I would like to petition for an offensive tackle, like I've seen Broderick Jones enough. He's a liability on the outside. I think we kick him inside and I think maybe we bring in someone like Caine Proctor or you know, if we want to go him on Roe Freeling, one of them to play that left tackle. You know, that's again if they want to go back to a Georgia tackle. But like for me, like I think, while the tape's pretty inconsistent for Procter, he's the top five overall player nationally in that twenty twenty three recruiting class. I think he's shown brilliance at times. I think if there's anyone who can get the best Adam, it's Big Mike McCarthy specifically where they just need him. So any any thoughts from you? Should it be a tackle, should it be a pass catcher, should it be me something I'm not even thinking about. And if it is tackle, which preference do you have for the Steelers?
00:49:52
Speaker 3: I was leaning receiver as of this morning, but then we got news that Broderick Jones needs to get re evaluated for the for the neck, and that came out this morning. So I think that's enough smoke there for me just to say, you know what, let's just plan to not have him and if Brodrick ends up bouncing back and maybe he can play a guard spot for me or whatever. But I'm going to go, let's go Monroe freeling here.
00:50:15
Speaker 2: Okay, I'm with it, totally with it.
00:50:17
Speaker 3: High pass protection, ceiling and a true left tackle as well, and I think that's important. Yep.
00:50:22
Speaker 1: Okay, twenty two overall the Chargers on the clock right now, consensus picked from them is Peter Woods. The defensive tackle edge auta Clemson. We have woods off the board currently, Derek, I still think they have to add like an edge prospect or something at least to I mean, look, I mean we're at the point like how old can and how long can they keep rolling here? I feel like with what they have currently on that board, right, I mean Dalvin Tomlinson, he's not someone I necessarily want to put all my eggs in their basket. We also Khalil Max what thirty five at this point, maybe the last year of his deal. So to me, like, I think it's either defensive tackle and go with like a K Banks, or or we go edge with them. What what do you think?
00:51:02
Speaker 2: I think they need to edge help? This is either edge. I'd like to make a linebacker conversation here too, but I don't know if like, at this point in the draft, I'm I mean, this feels like Keldric Faalk to me, Brett, what are your thoughts?
00:51:19
Speaker 3: Yeah, I worry Keldrick Falk isn't the right fit for what they do on the They like more stand up rushers, you know. I think I think this is where maybe you start to invoke a Malachi Lawrence type. Yeah, Parker can be more of a stand up guy, but it is just kind of yeah, I don't know, there's something about that I don't like to fit there. We could do.
00:51:41
Speaker 2: We could do Parker, though, I can I interest you in a Zion Young.
00:51:47
Speaker 3: I don't think Zion Young has first round pass rush upside. That's fair, fun, edge, shutter, violent player. You know, he's kind of a technician, but not a great athlete, not a huge pastorals ceiling.
00:51:58
Speaker 1: So we'll go, We'll go down the line. Give me one word Parker or do we want to go with fulk right? Parker Parker, Derek park Okay, TJ. Parker is the pick. Another Clemson Tiger off the board, Philadelphia Eagles. They are up here twenty three overall. There consensus pick my max i ain oor uh here out of Arizona State, a really fun, interesting prospect that started playing football very late into his career. So, Brett, do you think it is hey, we need to address tackle, get ahead of the situation while we still can. Or again, we do have some interesting pass catcher still on the board. Off they're that AJ Brown smoke is real.
00:52:36
Speaker 3: I think they gotta go Caden Proctor here given the way the boar felled. Yeah, it's you know, I've seen a lot of Blake Miller to them too, but Caden Proctor is a different beasts. Proctor honestly shouldn't be here. We met something up so uh, that's all. That's all good. Though.
00:52:50
Speaker 1: I've had Proctor coming in like the early twenties. Where do you have him mocked in your final? I think it was maybe last Friday or Thursday, brought Brett Brett, I saw.
00:52:57
Speaker 3: You drop that. I have another another mock coming this week. Actually, oh, it was not my finalnock, but I think I'll have him six of the Browns more than like.
00:53:05
Speaker 1: Wow, ho, so you're hot. You're high on Caan, on big Cane Procter, right, yeah, and.
00:53:09
Speaker 3: I think the league's high on him too, which is more important for trying to be predictive. But we're not trying to be predicted right now.
00:53:14
Speaker 1: We would do yeah, yeah, Procker, Derek, any issues with Procter.
00:53:19
Speaker 2: No, I think it's offensive line or wide receiver for me here, So I'm totally fine with Procer.
00:53:25
Speaker 3: Yeah.
00:53:25
Speaker 1: I mean this is a guy who you know, we rewind the clock maybe twelve months or so from now, Caan Procter had top five upside right, that's kind of what we were looking at. It hurt himself actually, like before the season even started in the warm ups to that Florida State game. Kind of got you know, blown out of the trenches in that one, but then did recover. Still earned some really good honors that season. So next up here, twenty four overall on the board, Cleveland Brown's back on the clock the consensus pick case. He concepts Yama, we had go him going all the way inside the top ten. So Brett, where where does that leave Cleveland? Do you think they now need to address tak water going with carnel Ty at the top.
00:54:00
Speaker 3: Up Yeah, the board kind of got wonky on them. If they would have landed, you know, Cadaan Proctor here at twenty four, they'd have been jumping for joy because these they're tied down at six. As I just said, So, I think maybe this is the max I NHR spot. I think he's a better prospect than Blake Miller. He's also got more versatility than Blake Miller. And with the Browns going to that complete reshuffle, you're gonna want guys that are flexible, So you can get your best five out there.
00:54:24
Speaker 1: Derek, you're in line with that too, Totally in line with that.
00:54:27
Speaker 2: That's exactly the top of my list.
00:54:29
Speaker 1: Perfect. 00:55:47
Speaker 4: Payble and bonus bets not a cash offer offered by the Seminal Tribe of Florida and Florida offered by the Seminal hard.
00:55:52
Speaker 1: Rock Digital LLC in other states.
00:55:54
Speaker 4: Must be twenty one plus in physically present in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Tennessee, or Virginia. Play terms of conditions apply. Concerned about gambling in Florida, call one eight three to three play wise. In Indiana. If you are someone you know is a gambling problem laws help called one eight hundred and nine with it gambling problem called one eight hundred gambler in Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, and.
00:56:16
Speaker 1: Gentlemen, let's keep this party started with the Chicago Bears. Consensus pick for them Emmanuel McNeil, Warren safety add to Leolo G five representation. Potentially. I don't argue Brett though, Like this is a spot where I think, I mean, with Peter Woods off the board, could it be Caleb Banks? Like I think that defensive tackle position is something they do need to dress specifically in Dennis Allen's four to three scheme, How do you see Chicago playing this one?
00:56:38
Speaker 3: I would say Keldric Fall probably okay. They tried to do the big freaky long athlete in Deo Odebengo last year in free agency. He spent the entire season hurt once again, and I think at this point you can't really trust him to be healthy. And I think they they've really needed a guy opposite Montes Sweat for some time. So I think you got to throw a dart here at Kelderic Fall because very similar player to Dayo, Odiengbo.
00:57:02
Speaker 2: Derek an He pushback, it was, I'm totally find Falk and Emmanuel McNeil Warren with his ball production. I mean, cam Lewis, I don't know if you want him started in safety, but it was I'm between Falk and mc neil Warren. So totally I find mcg going Falk here if it's a need.
00:57:18
Speaker 1: When I think that sets up the Buffalo Bills pretty perfectly here because their consensus pick Kate McDonald defensive tackle out of Ohio State. But I would argue McNeil Warren's like he's the perfect guy because I think like anytime you can get someone who you know, led the country or was top five in the country in forced fumbles as a sophomore, earned All first Team All MAC All America honors as a senior, and you can get someone to replace CJ. Gardner Johnson as a starter, like I think you have to do it. I on't think you can roll in this season with CJ. And that'd give him Christian Brentford, Maxwell Harrison and di Alford out there. So Brett any interest here in McNeil Warren to Buffalo, I'm a little interested.
00:57:55
Speaker 3: I do think they I think they like CJGJ. He's a starter level player. He's just a nutcase. So yeah, I think in small doses, teams like him, you know, come in for a year. And then they also brought in Geno Stone, who's no slouch over from the Sincinnatti formerly of Baltimore. So I feel like they kind of rebuilt that safety room already. I'm not saying they wouldn't do it. I just don't think it would be my pick here.
00:58:15
Speaker 1: What would you go with?
00:58:17
Speaker 3: I think I mean they're they're converting their defensive front to an odd front. They were previously even front under Sean McDermott's I think they need some juice at edge rusher, a more stand up speed rusher type to go with the Gregory Rousseau. I would say either at Cashus Howell or a Malachi Lawrence for sure.
00:58:33
Speaker 1: Hmm okay, I like Cash's how What about you, Derek? Do you have a preference between how Lawrence or maybe they do go a different position.
00:58:40
Speaker 2: I'm fine with Lawrence, man. I think they definitely need Pats Rush for me was I was in between Malachi Lawrence continued to give Josh Allen weapons with Denzel Boston or keipler Banks one of those three guys, so Brett, if you're convicted on Lawrence, I'm fine with that man.
00:58:56
Speaker 3: Let's do it all right.
00:58:58
Speaker 1: You're at twenty seven the sameco forty nine ers on the clock consensus right now for them. Kleb Lumou, offensive tackle out of Utah. I actually like, I don't mind Blake Miller here. I think, like, if there's ever a guy that you think maybe this uh you know, electromagnet, tivid, you know, electrical substation, whatever's going on there in San Francisco, I think if there's one guy doesn't f with, I think it's got to be Blake Miller. I mean, this guy started his first ever game touch Howard's rock as a true freshman, one of the only three true freshmen to ever do that on the offensive line for Clemson, and then he played a record at fifty four starts. So for me, I'm very interested in tackle. I think they need to find that replacement for Big Trent Williams sooner rather than later. Derek, do you agree with that or do you like loumu or is it maybe a different position as a whole for sant France.
00:59:49
Speaker 3: They did extend Trent Williams this morning.
00:59:51
Speaker 2: Say oh they did with william Oh no, I don't think. I oh know, Niners are a lot happier with their offensive line, and I think they're just gonna kick the can down the road. I actually want to give this offense another playmaker like Ricky p has been having like he can't seem to stay on the field. Christian Kirk, what do you get it from him? At this point? I am actually into some Omar Cooper junior here, Brett.
01:00:13
Speaker 3: What are your thoughts? Oh said boom done done? Okay, Oh you know what's funny about that. My comp for Cooper Junior is Brandon Iuk who uh thet night drafted.
01:00:22
Speaker 2: I think you get a go. It's a wonderful skill set man, like you can use him inside outside versatility, you can use him as well as being the underneath guy, like put the ball in his hands and let him just go like beat people up after the catch.
01:00:33
Speaker 3: Like.
01:00:33
Speaker 2: I think it's a good fit man.
01:00:35
Speaker 3: Got some debo qualities.
01:00:36
Speaker 1: Yes, yes, yes, yes, wow yeah that is that is a heartbreaker. I just published the mock draft late last night.
01:00:44
Speaker 2: You're going in back into the editing room after we get off of this.
01:00:49
Speaker 1: You hate to see it, you do, you absolutely do. But with that, it does bring us to the Houston, Texas up on the clock at twenty eight. Overall consensus going with Chase bisontis interior offensive lineman out of Texas A and m Right. I'm still like on board. I think defensive tackle is a bigger need for them than anything like, if you want to go Caleb Banks here, I'm totally cool with that. If you want to go Kate McDonald and cool with that. What do you think the move is for Demiico Ryans and company.
01:01:17
Speaker 3: Yeah, my brain immediately goes to two spots. One, I can think of Blake Miller at right tackle instead of Chase beyond this, and I know they just signed Braden Smith, but if you actually look at the money that gave Smith, they gave him guard money. Yeah, very strange, and I wonder if they actually view him as the right guard not the right tackle. So that's one angle. The other angle though, and Caden McDonald is still there. You mentioned him already. I think they really like Tommy Togia and what he brings to the table, but he's more a rundown only type of nose. I think they want a replacement for Tim Settle. Sheldon Rankins is also on a one year dealer expiring contract. He's also old as dirt, So I think Kate McDonald makes probably the most sense just getting high pedigree player here. It's a really nice ceiling play.
01:01:58
Speaker 1: Do you like McDonald as well, Erk or do you want to pivot to that offensive tackle?
01:02:02
Speaker 2: No, I'm with either McDonald. The other thing that I would throw in here is Aziz al Shayer isn't getting any younger. I think linebackers in play here too, But I like t tackle and I think that's where if I'm Demiko, Ryan's like, I want to continue to have that type of depth and because again like age as well as like you're giving yourself out for next year, McDonald's the pick for me.
01:02:23
Speaker 1: Okay, we have the Kansas City Chiefs on the clock here at twenty nine. Overall consensus has them going Colton Hood cornerback out of Tennessee. However, we did give them Delane at the top of the draft nine overall. So, Brett, what do you think the biggest need is for Kins City?
01:02:37
Speaker 2: Like?
01:02:37
Speaker 1: I still think like X pass catcher Denzel Boston on the board makes a ton of sense for me. Do you have any discrepancy there?
01:02:43
Speaker 2: No, that's it, that's done, done, perfect fit. This is exactly why you didn't need to go Jordan Tyson inside the top ten, you get the cornerback, you get Boston, Baby, let's.
01:02:52
Speaker 3: Boston's my wide receiver three.
01:02:53
Speaker 2: By the way, hell yoh same, we ride together, baby, I love it.
01:02:58
Speaker 3: So they're getting someupre good value here.
01:03:00
Speaker 1: You know, like if if Derek Hadda backwards had on, I would think you guys were brothers and you're you're definitely showing off a little that same uh same mind or there you go, there you go, even got the even got the little bit of gray right in the middle too. Brett, you're there. Yeah, so that's that's true.
01:03:16
Speaker 2: Well I do have it.
01:03:18
Speaker 1: Thank you for now. Uh here we got we got the Miami Dolphins coming on the on the board next thirty overall, their second pick, Chris Johnson, cornerback app San Diego State is the consensus mocked player here. We gave them in the first round earlier on at eleven overall maw and noah. So they did clean up offensive tackle Derek, what do you think the move is for the new regime down there in Miami?
01:03:44
Speaker 2: I think, honestly, I think, like you take the value of Caleb Banks, it's either between Caleb Banks and Manuel McNeil Warren or Brett Bpa. I think if you're the Dolphins, like for me, it's trench work still. But I mean, you know, I could be talking to a number of different directions here. Chris Johnson also makes sense too.
01:04:09
Speaker 1: Yeah, I think Chris John's is not a bad consensus pick too.
01:04:12
Speaker 3: You want my take?
01:04:13
Speaker 2: Yes, yes, please, sir.
01:04:15
Speaker 3: There there is no team in the draft better suited to wait on an injured player. And if I were the Miami Dolphins, I would be drafting Chris Bell right here.
01:04:24
Speaker 1: Oh wow, for the brand, we're doing it, Chris Bell staying there out on the East Coast. Okay, I like it. I like it.
01:04:36
Speaker 2: Okay, let's go.
01:04:38
Speaker 3: I just went full Rogan on me.
01:04:39
Speaker 1: By the way, I'm just gonna say too, if you do believe Chris Bell can be a first round pick, I mean he's out there like sixty to one or something to do that. So definitely a place to maybe get invested with if you do believe in uh you know Brett's analysis here and I do agree. Hey, like no one can sit and wait like the Dolphins can right now. So yeah, there you go. U one overall New England Patriots on the board consensus. Blake Miller off in the tackle Clemson. That doesn't sound too bad. Pass catchers are kind of going off the board too, brat. I think they also need to address that, but it might be a reach anywhere they go at this point.
01:05:14
Speaker 3: No, I think Blake Miller's a good value here. I didn't love him, like he just keeps getting mocked to the lines. At seventeen that's just okay. But down here at thirty one, I mean they you know, Morgan Moses is literally ancient, So yeah, I really like the value. They also need to look at pass rusher here. They lost Caleb On Chase On. They don't have any juice on the edge at all. They got Harold Landry and Draymond Jones, who are both big, more physical edge centers. They're not pass rushers. But considering the value, I think you go Blake Miller. You got to protect your quarterback. And Morgan Moses, as I mentioned, is ancient.
01:05:46
Speaker 2: And Derek Blake would love they can make Will Campbell's center at that point.
01:05:50
Speaker 1: So yeah, okay, alright, number four overall. Pick it into the interier of the offensive line the next year. Got I love that, and we'll get out of here at the Seattle Seahawks consensus pick to daring you Priace running back out of Notre Dame deepro Is that how you see it going here? I think it's a little too rich for my blood. What is the move for Seattle? If they do stay put? And keep in mind, this could be a spot for the Cardinals to me move up get Ty Simpson ahead of the Jets who are on the clock at thirty three overall, or at the same time the Jets want to get that fifth year session and try to make sure the Cardinals don't jump up them. Maybe Ti Simpson trade spot. But if they do stay put, who's the pick for you?
01:06:27
Speaker 2: I continually been mocking him here and I think it feels like such a Seattle pick. Brett, how much would you love Killer Banks here to Seattle?
01:06:35
Speaker 3: That's exactly what I do in every Monk and it's get it getting out in front of Leonard Williams contrapation. Yeah, I love it.
01:06:44
Speaker 1: I love Banks. I actually have a plus two forty five ticket for him to go in the first round. It's gonna be a sweater, right. We might go all the way to the clock here at thirty two overall, but I think it's worth a juice there. So guys, love this exercise today.
