ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Have you ever caught yourself hearing God's Word without truly listening to what He's saying? In a world filled with constant distractions, it's easy to let Scripture, sermons, and even conversations with God become background noise. But Jesus repeatedly challenged His followers to do more than simply hear; He called them to listen with hearts that are ready to receive and respond.
In this episode of eXchanging Eternal Truths, Heather Lancaster and her husband, Greg, explore the biblical difference between hearing and listening. They discuss how preparing our hearts, eliminating distractions, and seeking a deeper understanding of God's Word allow the Holy Spirit to reveal truth that transforms our lives. Whether you're reading your Bible, listening to a sermon, or spending time in prayer, this conversation will encourage you to move beyond passive hearing into active listening.
- Why Jesus repeatedly said, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear."
- The difference between hearing information and listening with spiritual understanding.
- How distractions and familiarity can keep us from receiving fresh revelation from God's Word.
- Practical ways to prepare your heart before reading Scripture, praying, or attending church.
- Why growing believers continually listen, learn, and imitate their Heavenly Father.
God isn't simply looking for people who hear His Word; He's looking for hearts that are ready to receive it. As we intentionally prepare our hearts, remove distractions, and seek Him through Scripture, He faithfully reveals deeper truth that transforms the way we think, live, and respond to the world around us.
