ABOUT THIS EPISODE
When we think of all the truly fantastic female fighters we have seen in the sport over the years - names such as Deirdre Gogarty, Chrissy Martin, Lucia Rijker & Holly Holme all fought with distinction in the US yet in the UK, Ireland and many parts of Europe blocked females from participating and in some cases went out of their way to prevent it ever becoming a possibility. One lady took on the establishment, one lady went to court and one lady won the right to fight & made it possible for the Katie Taylor's, Terri Harper's, Savanah Marshall and countless others to follow their dreams in a boxing ring. That lady is Jane Couch and she joins the episode to talk about some of her experiences.
And joining us from the Deep South of Togher boxing club Co. Cork is the precautious talented Leanne Murphy to speak about her passion and drive for the toughest sport around.
