ABOUT THIS EPISODE
My guest today is Donna Cravotta. Donna Cravotta is a Chief Storyteller + Positioning Architect, Founder and CEO of Cravotta Media Group, and creator of The Real 50 Over 50: The Wisdom Revolution, featuring 175+ interviews with women over 50 redefining success in their Third Act.
She works with accomplished entrepreneurial women—authors, speakers, and consultants—helping them gather their wisdom, clarify their positioning, and build intentional visibility that feels natural, not performative. Her proprietary methodology, Tried & New, is based on a simple premise: Don’t reinvent yourself. Remember who you already are. In this episode we discuss remembering vs reinvention, the real 50 over 50, storytelling, gender bias and ageism.

In this episode you will learn:
1. Why "reinvention" is actually just imposter syndrome wearing a new outfit, and what women over 50 actually need instead of a brand new identity — The world tells women that everything they did before a certain age no longer matters and that moving forward means becoming someone else. Donna rejects that completely. Through her Tried and New methodology, women start remembering the things they forgot, dismissed, or didn't think anyone would care about, and discover they already have decades of evidence proving exactly who they are. No imposter syndrome gremlin can stand against that.
2. Why women over 50 are not winding down — they are just getting started, and what 175 plus interviews with women redefining success in their third act actually revealed — Donna built The Real 50 Over 50 because brilliant, impactful women were completely invisible while Forbes required a $10 million income minimum just to be considered. What she discovered interview after interview was the same thread every single time: they weren't ready to stop, they wanted to make a difference, and the moment they started remembering who they were, they hit the HOV lane and never looked back.
3. Why remembering is harder than reinventing, and the one tangible first step anyone can take right now to pull the thread that unravels everything — Reinvention is just another task list. Remembering is soul level work. It means connecting dots you didn't know were connected and giving yourself permission to see failures as redirections. Donna's first step is simple: think of one moment when you created real change for someone and genuinely felt good doing it. Start there. Pull that thread. The rest will follow.
“The real recognizable moment was about three years ago. I was at the tail end of a health issue that had lasted a while." - 00:02:48
"Re-invention is just another task list. It's things to do. Remembering, it's hard work. That is, that's soul level work." - 00:21:24
"Trust yourself. Just trust yourself because I think that's where all the problems stem from.” - 01:05:11
