PitKid: There's a whole bunch of stuff coming up. I am starting my own interview series where called Welcome to the Pit Crew, where I interview bands.

PitKid: not about, you know, that big cool show they just did or that big collab they just did. No, it's just about moss pits. We want to know when was their first time they ever saw a moss pit, when was the first time they were ever in a moss pit, when was the first time.

Alyssa Moreno: I was gonna say I saw your shirt and up there too.
PitKid: So it was just the 50th anniversary of the Ramones. And they had a special concert at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, like where all the famous people are buried in Hollywood.
Jessika: Yeah, yeah.
PitKid: And the band was called Cretan Family. And the band was Billy Joe Armstrong, Travis Barker, Tim
Alyssa Moreno: Shut up.
PitKid: Armstrong, and CJ Ramon. Also making
Jessika: my god.
PitKid: appearances Billy Idle, Fred Armiston, and my friends the Linda Lindas.
Alyssa Moreno: Wow. That's so fucking cool.

Alyssa Moreno: As soon as you said Billy, I'm like,
PitKid: might be the most special set I've ever seen in my life. Billy Joe and Travis on the stage together, never thought it would happen.
Jessika: Did you get to meet him?

PitKid: wasn't like that big. Like and most of the people were like behind like on like picnic blankets and stuff. Like there was a movie after there was some there was a couple of movies after it was a whole big thing, but like the concert.
Alyssa Moreno: It's a once in a lifetime thing that nobody else but you and the small amount of people that were there got to experience. Like that's so fucking cool.

PitKid: Not a secret because he did post on Matt posted on his Instagram a couple of weeks ago that they are in Dallas, Texas, where I live currently, and they're filming a Emo's Not Dead series that we don't have a

PitKid: ton of information about. And, you know, they were looking for, you know, real actors to play like a police officer and normal character roles and then there was a call for the monsters they needed some moshers so obviously I'm like
Alyssa Moreno: And who's better than the leader?
PitKid: excuse me like I live here like do I even need to audition for this? Come on Gavin

PitKid: Gavin was like yeah go go email the casting people so So West out

PitKid: of Yes. Not so not only am I in this new show as a monster, but no, I'm actually making a cameo as myself pit kid because I will have my flag and it's gonna be really cool. Canting

Jessika: How was working with Matt?
PitKid: Amazing. You know, it was
Alyssa Moreno: He's a nice guy. He's a lot shyer than I ever thought he would be when I've met him like a couple times. But I guess that's like usually how the people are.

PitKid: but I was mossing in Jenko's in a hundred and two degree weather, like that was hard.

Like the smaller versions of them, like not the like zippy ones and whatnot, but with like my spice girls fucking like platform boots I got off Canal Street in New York. I loved it. when is it supposed to like air, do you know?

PitKid: w made my movie debut in the Green Day Nimrods movie. there's a new movie out called Nimrods. probably not gonna be out for much longer, but we'll be up streaming probably pretty soon.
Alyssa Moreno: You said Green Day?
PitKid: It's so it's called Nimrods, and it's about a band who gets tricked into thinking that they're opening up for Green Day on New Year's Eve and their like road trip to Hollywood to the show mimics a lot of like early Green Bay stories. and
Alyssa Moreno: Okay.
PitKid: they did a concert scene where they did, you know, like a year ago, they were like, hey, who wants to be in this concert scene? And I was like, I want to be in this concert scene. So we
Alyssa Moreno: Mm-hmm.
PitKid: watched them film like a couple of songs five times each. Like it was a little it was a little tedious, a little grueling, but then we got to hear then they like did a special surprise concert for us, played like a couple of extra songs. And
Alyssa Moreno: That's so cool.
PitKid: yeah, and some of those might be in credits.
Jessika: I love that.
Alyssa Moreno: When I grow up I wanna be a pit kid.
Jessika: Right.
PitKid: Yeah.
Alyssa Moreno: that actually reminds me have you ever seen the movie Detroit Rock City?
PitKid: Very similar to Detroit Rock City, yep.
Alyssa Moreno: That's like the plot line. I mean, a little different, obviously, because they're like opening, not just trying to like get there, but I love that.
PitKid: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Alyssa Moreno: And it kind of like r reminds me of Grind, but like a skateboarder version of that. Like I I love those plot lines. Grind is like one of my favorite movies. So I can pretty much

Alyssa Moreno: I loved not another teen movie. I used to watch it on pay-per-view for free.

PitKid: Yeah, so all right, well so last year, you know, Warp Tor Insomniac kind of like tracked me down. They were like, We love what you're doing, we want you back next year. And that like just stayed in my head all year. I want you we want you back next year, we want you back next year. What does that mean?

PitKid: Like what does that mean? Like you wanna make

I had already

PitKid: Right. I had already purchased tickets for the first two dates. And you know, I reached out after, I was like, Hey, you know, thank you so much, like all that. And she didn't reply to my text. Like she reposted on Instagram, like when I posted a photo of us. She

PitKid: throughout the year we would sometimes like reply to each other's stories, maybe go back and forth once or twice. You know, I felt like the connection was alive, but like I still wasn't it, you know, comfortable being like, so like about that ticket, you know.
Alyssa Moreno: Yeah, no, I'm like o I hate asking people for things.
Jessika: So about those perks, yeah.
PitKid: Yeah, but like I always feel comfortable having that conversation in person, you know. and I just always figured like well I have a jar. I have a jar.

PitKid: But but yeah, so I wanted to I didn't I didn't wanna like, you know, come in too strong. I wanted to I I figured, you know, I'll run into her, I'll see about you know maybe maybe getting these these Mexico Canada ones for free because those are the you know expensive ones

PitKid: or the expensive trips at least the tickets are mostly

PitKid: affordable across the board. so I closer to DC I I reached out and she just did an answer and you know I had another friend who was egging me on being like just just ask just ask and I was No, just let me let me play my let me play it how I want to play it. I I know what I'm doing. I know what I'm doing. So so Washington DC, again, like I don't really get in touch with her beforehand. I try to. but I had a big debacle. my luggage didn't show like I I I had connecting flight issues, I had delays, and my luggage didn't show up.

PitKid: So yeah, I I flew in the day before, I get there and my luggage isn't there and I am not happy. Luckily I have my flag. I had my flag with me. No, I had the flag with me, but no polar.

Jessika: He's like, that goes in the carry on.
PitKid: Right. Now the poll also goes in the carry-on because I had my pole in the bag, in the in the luggage, and

PitKid: it didn't get there. I had to show up to day one in my clothes from the day before. Like I showered, put my same clothes on, put the word

PitKid: out, Does anybody have a selfie stick or something I could use as a flagpole? thankfully, like my buddy did have a selfie stick, like I was able to get it. but he was already inside. I I run in kind of holding it above my head for the first set. second day, I get my you know, I after day one, I go to the airport, I pick up my luggage, have everything. Day two, walk in confidently holding it on the pole. And security like stops me. Like I don't even try to sneak in because I'm you know, I know

PitKid: that I'm allowed, right? So
Alyssa Moreno: Yeah.
PitKid: I I come w walking confidently and security goes, sorry. no flags today. no flags, no totems. We're we're not doing that today. And I said, I've been cleared by the festival, like I promised, like I'm I'm good. I name dropped though, we don't know that person. you could you know, you can take it back to your car. So I exit, they they scan me out, I exit, and now all beating around the bush is out the window. Okay.

PitKid: I call I call her directly and she yes,

PitKid: I call her directly, she doesn't answer, I leave a message, Hey, it's pitkid, like they're not letting me in. Please, please, please help me. Thirty seconds later she calls me back. I'm so sorry I didn't have your number saved. I do now give me a few minutes. I will take care of this. We got you.

Alyssa Moreno: I would have walked by that security guard, like bitch. Nope.

PitKid: Brings me right in. my God. So so now here I am. I'm in, I'm good, I'm doing my thing all Sunday. Washington D Cill It. So before I exit, at the end of the day I text her, Hey, thank you so much for helping me out. bummed I didn't get to see you, you know, hopefully in Long Beach. And she replies like, yeah, we'll you know, we'll get you back in the barbecue in Long Beach. Then I'm just like, Hey, I'm still here now, you know, I am OG. and she's just like,
Alyssa Moreno: Okay.
PitKid: great, you know, meet me by the stage. So she took me back there. I got to go to do the after party again.
Alyssa Moreno: Yeah.
PitKid: but no plans for Long Beach on the you know, so now we're getting closer to Long Beach, send her messages, hey, you know, looking forward to seeing you again. and then I'm just like, Hey, you know, can you maybe is there another pass like maybe like a vendor pass or an employee pass so I don't have to go through security and deal with that again and

PitKid: again, no answer, but like again, like I'm not as worried this time. that's like a week out. So then in day out I kinda text her again, like, Hey, you know, just got to LA, excited to see you this weekend, and then she replies to that, like, sorry I missed your last one. I got a password. PitKid: the artist lounge in Long Beach was amazing. Like there was an inside, there was air conditioning, there was an outside, there was the warp t the warp tribute band was playing, there was a 30 piece steel drum band playing like no effects and left the J covers. Like it was a vibe.
Alyssa Moreno: Whoa.
PitKid: I was running it s like I couldn't
Alyssa Moreno: to get back there. I to be a barbecue buddy.
Jessika: Me too, I wanna be a barbecue buddy.
PitKid: I came there just to, you know, like relax and everything, but like I ran in circles when that steel drum band was playing, like the tribute
Alyssa Moreno: love it.
PitKid: band plays the after party and I go for another two hours. by the way, speaking of day two Long Beach, now I have this barbecue pass which allows me inside like restricted areas. So you know how before they unveil the inflatable, they have like barricades up in certain areas.
Alyssa Moreno: Mm-hmm.
PitKid: All that by any chance, maybe, maybe not. Well
Jessika: Yeah.
PitKid: so I'm allowed like in front of those barricades. So everyone's kind of back there and I'm in front, like right before the inflatable is being unveiled. And I'm kinda walking around hyping up the crowd, throwing out wristbands. Everybody wants my wristbands. Like and
Alyssa Moreno: Duh. I love my Rose Band.
PitKid: In the midst of all this somebody yells Put down the flag

PitKid: Mr. Mr. Kevin Lyman himself up on the podium says nope, he doesn't have to. That's the pit flag guy, and he comes to every single warp tour, and he is always he's in the pit all day, and he even was at the after party dancing until

Like it's you know, and Kevin's like Kevin told him it's like, Yeah, he's kind of become part of Warp Tour and it's, you know, he

He takes a picture of me and Kevin. with my flag and he, you know, to send to security. next day Eliza tells me, like, yeah, like everybody talked about it, like you're gonna be good. so she walk she walks me in just in case and first band the paradox like my boys obviously I gotta be there, gotta have my flag going for them. And As I'm walking up to their set, two security guards approach me. And because we're in Montreal, they say, But French or English? English. I'm sorry, sir, but you you can't have that flag here and I say, No, I I actually can't English.

So, you know, couple minutes. then they come back over and they're just like, All right, we let everybody know no one is gonna bother you the rest of the weekend.
