ABOUT THIS EPISODE
This week, we follow the thread of the King, which begins with Adam's God-given call to rule and runs through whispers in Genesis and Numbers, Israel's demand for a king like the nations, and God's promise to David of an everlasting throne. We see how even the best of Israel's kings failed, and why Psalm 89 asks where the promised King could possibly be.
The answer comes through the prophets, Psalm 110, and Daniel 7: the only way to keep an everlasting promise is a King who is himself eternal. Jesus is that King, and we follow Him from Palm Sunday to the cross, the empty tomb, His reign at the Father's right hand, and His promised return. We also look at how that changes everyday life, because obedience to this King is not how we earn His favor but how we respond to it. This is Week 9 of Threads at FBC Boerne.
