ABOUT THIS EPISODE
This week ties two earlier threads together - the temple and the priesthood - into a wider picture of worship across Scripture. The starting point is simple but important: worship begins with redemption. God rescues first, and every response of worship flows from His grace rather than earning it.
We trace Israel's yearly rhythm of feasts and festivals and see how each one, from Passover to Tabernacles, pointed toward Jesus. Then we follow what happens to worship once Jesus comes - the temple becomes His people, the priesthood becomes every believer, sacrifice becomes a life lived for Him, and the sign of the covenant becomes baptism. What Old Testament believers could only approach from a distance, we now get to live out freely, as a kingdom of priests with full access to God through Christ.
This is Week 7 of Threads at FBC Boerne.
