Danny Sellers: feel how do I feel how do I say how real how do I say you so sexy I real how do I say I wanna be a boyfriend I strew how do I how do I please you know what's crazy this past week I've seen at least Two shortties sing And it wasn't bad. It wasn't good. ⁓ please. I mean On the internet. ⁓ or this internet people just bad. Like, baby girl, you gotta stop that. People be having the audacity. People that and they can't sing, but then again, what I say always is if you do decide to sing and you cannot sing. Don't do it around me. I don't number one, don't do it around me, but I also don't trust you. ⁓ yeah, it's yes. I don't I don't trust anything you got. I trust nothing you have. At that point you're not like you're not tuning into selling you don't know your right right right and now I don't trust anything you say or do yeah politically like like anything like no emotionally everything you got is not a void ⁓ anyways this is dated a show that investigates love and singing ability yes I'm your host Danny one of the greatest black men of all time and I'm here to talk to you about your love life you're doing bad you're doing a bad job you're doing bad job everybody's talking about you Everybody's saying, Your choices are bad. Why is she with that person? Why is he with her? ⁓ again, not this time. Yeah. And they're talking to you behind your back. And this show is really meant to help you understand how bad you're actually doing. Yeah. In your love life. Reflection. Yeah, yeah, more or less. This is a mirror into your your body count, I guess. Actually, no, it's not. Anyways, ⁓ but I when I do these things, this ⁓ inventory of love, I have to do this with another person because once again, my perspective is cooked. I'm divorced. ⁓ I'm I'm ⁓ I'm in a bad space. I'm in a really I'm in a really bad space. You know, and I'm but I'm fair. I'm honest. And I said I need I need an unbiased opinion to help. And so I I I'll call one of the most foremost experts of love and ⁓ devotion, yearning. Hey. And even deceit. Torrance water makes some noise. The deceit part. But yes. Hey y'all. How y'all doing? ⁓ it's a great day. It's a great it's a it's a hot day. Hot as hell still. LA this feels very New Yorkish. It's very musty, dusty. I I went to try to go thrifty yesterday. I it was r I'm like, this is hot. It's nasty. LA is LA is bougie in the sense that if it's ever too hot or rains, people just shut down. Yeah. Infrastructure's not prepared for any kind of weather outside of like sixty to seventy eight. You know what I'm saying? Business is close. Yeah, like people just aren't outside this weekend. It was weird. I did a I had a show in San Diego last night and it was like not a great show. Yeah. And I drove back. I'm like, did I need to do this today? Like it just wasn't. It was like bad. It was but it was so hot. I think people okay. So people were like, I'm not going outside. So I think San Diego's even probably just as a more bougie. 'Cause their weather is like also really, really nice too. And it's like you know, people are San Diego's is like nice. That's like a that's like a r like a actual nice place. LA is cool, but San Diego's like kinda. And I think those people are like they they appreciate outdoors a little bit more. Yeah, for sure. So when it's not ideal. Like you move to San Diego for the weather. Like San Diego's like not a cool city off just like industry wise. You know, like people come here for their dreams and some some some of them like are East Coast style people. But you go to San Diego because you wanted to be seventy nine and eighty four. Start a f have a family. You like retiring in San Diego. You ain't going there like I'm about to be the new kid. And so it just wasn't it was kinda shitty. The weather was it's hot and musty. But ⁓ speaking of shows, your boy is headlining ⁓ here in Los Angeles. Nine eleven. Woo! September eleventh, nine thirty. Pull up on me. It's gonna be a great, a great lineup of my homies. Danny Daniel and friends bring it here. ⁓ sold out in New York. Haven't sold out yet, not anywhere close. So I need you guys to fucking not maybe look like an idiot. We're gonna make sure you sell out. We gonna make sure that shit. Buy some tickets, pull up, bring your bring your exes. We can sit you guys on opposite sides of the the theater. You know ⁓ But yeah, I mean honestly I'm I'm getting ready. Like I I was I've had a couple phone calls and like meetings this past week. I think if I don't get a taping soon, I think I'm gonna shoot another special next year. That'd be fire. I've lived the last special was Yeah, that was a lot. Yeah. But I've lived a little bit too much life to not tell people everything. You gotta say something. Yeah. I I moved across country, I had some good, good, good, good relationships, experiences. Yeah. And I think I just have to say some of this shit. You some shit you see. You just got some shit you got to say. You saw me live a couple weeks ago or like a month or so ago. Yeah. Uhhuh. I feel like I have a lot of new shit that I've been doing too. And ew you know, anytime you have a change of scenery too, like I I've had probably Another five to ten minutes since I've moved the past six weeks of just like my surroundings changing, you know. Yeah and just having like commentary on that. So I d I think in general. If I don't get something like big like from a network or something, I think I'm ⁓ probably Q2 drop something on these niggas. That'd be kinda tight for the streets. You know. So it w in saying that, you're gonna hear some of these these jokes ⁓ exclusively ⁓ early if you come to Daniel and Friends at Lyric Hyperion here in Los Angeles, pull up on me. It's gonna be a great time. Yeah. And I and I will say that going to comedy shows can be hit or miss. You know what I'm saying? But Every time I w I will say that every time you've had people slash ⁓ yeah when you've hosted and done things it's great it's good people that show up. So it will be funny through and through. Yeah yeah yeah yeah. Versus like the mm, I only laughed at two people out of seven. You know what I mean? Yes, all black lineup too. I like I like having all black lineups. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Or majority black, might be one token. I had to get I had to throw that in there so people could be like, ⁓ yeah, yeah, you know. No, for sure. There's a lot of bad comedy, but I I I I take pride in ⁓ Yeah, Aaron Monte, my homie, ⁓ Rachel Pregum, she's a writer on SNL, ⁓ Chi K Robinson, another hilarious ⁓ multimedia comedian. So yeah, so you know, literally ⁓ all black lineup this time around and really, really funny. One of my favorite venues in LA, lyric Hyperion, pull up on me. ⁓ but look, hey man, gets into some current events that aren't about me. The NFL preseason is over, so baby girl, if if he has no pictures, whether it be game. Pictures, practice pictures beyond today when this podcast drops, August 31st. Baby girl, he works at Enterprise. He's me. Yeah, we're the same. He we're the same. Yeah, we're the same kind of nigga. He might have another you know ten thousand dollars in his pocket from training camp. Yeah, but we're the same nigga. Yeah. Yeah. Don't be deceived. Yeah. And that and that and that's not even like in malicious intent. That's just off the IG. ⁓ he ⁓ he has a a Packers jersey on. He played in some games. Maybe that was preseason. You know what I'm saying? He's now he's back. He's a he's gonna be a P teacher in six months, which is great. Which is you gotta teach the teacher. He's gonna be at Verizon selling iPhones, which is a great job. He might be he might he might have a go off to have a great career or as a regular nigga career. He might go sell insurance. He might be a county executive. But he don't play for the Chargers anymore. It was a great summer. He got he got way closer than I did as a former athlete. But I just want you to understand that. And that's and that's just without malicious intent. Now, let's get into the malicious intent. Yeah. The malice. The true ⁓ This nigga Dijon Love. Alright, this is a guy ⁓ of of ⁓ I was I was about to say a 49er. A guy that impersonated being a San Francisco 49er on the internet. Swindled multiple of women's. Running routes like me. Yeah, like that's the unfortunate part. I've never played football. Running routes like I play like I do. He we we built the same. Yeah. We got the same build. Yeah, that was I might be heavy than that nigga. ⁓ That was actually that was the funniest part was that part of like Hold on, he don't even really look like I could I could even see if he was a former college player and then finesse that because then it's like, okay, whatever. This nigga looked like he was a JV player at best in high school. Yeah. And then got like one fake chain and then start wearing his helmet in the car. Like w having your helmet in the car everywhere you go is hilarious. In your hand at every opportunity. I've never, let me tell you something. After high school, Torrance, my helmet has never left the locker room. It never your helmet doesn't leave the facility. Like, you know. But that's what I'm talking about. I think as a singer, I'm getting in the car with a microphone in my hand, like, you All the time. Just constantly. Like, motherfuckers, like. So anyways, yeah, I'm putting the I find it. That don't make sense. And again, I never bl I don't like to blame victims. I'm not a victim blamer. Well, it's time. I don't It's time to do that right now. I am not a victim blamer. Let's get the blaming. Damn, lady, stand up. I just Twenty-six women out of one point three million strong dollars. I'm curious why they were giving a rich nigga money. Maybe he was like, ⁓ I'm you I need an advance. Yeah, that's what I'm gonna get you back. You what I'm saying? It's investment. It's an investment into this and doing if you put money in, it's gonna be into this, that, and whatever. He wasn't trying to fuck him, he was just trying to like do business. This is amazing. This is it's really on some Annie ⁓ Anna Delvey type shit. Yeah. ⁓ it it r it really is ⁓ he's awful. Let me be very clear. We blame the man who did this and you swindled the but but we gotta think you know what it is, Torrance though, but also there's so many women that pride themselves on being investigator journalists and like, ⁓ you know, you I've the amount of hinge dates that I've had that they she's already known what I do before the date off of just like a couple pictures in my first name is kind of crazy. So I'm kind of shocked for women to mostly pride themselves on their investigative skills and to not and and I'll say that because he was so convincing and now again, so convincing not like ⁓ actually, but on his socials, on all things he posted, AI, if you looked at if you Googled who is like his name, AI pulled up and like said, ⁓ he is a player for the Forty Niner. ⁓ he did. ⁓ 'cause ⁓ AI. Not like an actual ro like not like a actual roster or anything. What? But AI, because y'all live on AI, y'all never fact check anything thing. ⁓ it's and it's like it literally you type in his name. I did not know that. And it popped up. It would pop up that he was a forty niner. 'Cause it's just it's I went I went on a deep dive on this nigga because this is crazy. This is like scamming like This is elite status scaming. Well, you play for the Houston Rockets. I you know I play for the Houston Rockets tournament. I'm a shooting guard for the User Rangers. Are you a shooting you're a shooting guard? Type shit, type shit, type shit. Yeah, well Yeah, I just got I was undrafted. ⁓ okay. That's what it was. And you just came back from I was ⁓ so I was playing overseas in Turkey. And and they was like, yo, you wanna you know, you play, get your hairline fixed. I was like, nah, I'm good. And you gotta stop, people gonna believe your shit. What you mean stop believing? I'm telling my story. People gonna people gonna stop. Hold on, hold on. I'm telling my fucking story. Don't over don't overtop me, I'm telling my story. Anyway, so I so I'm in high in college. I played football in college, but I was like, you what? I wanna play basketball instead. So when they when I was going through the process, it was me. I think it was me. Who was in my draft class? It was like LaMelo Balls, Alonzo Morning. Alonso Morning is great. He was ⁓ he was over there too. What's up? He call him Z I him Zo. Yeah, that's it. He was like and it was me and then ⁓ Gilbert Arenas. And then I was just playing them. I was like, yeah, I got out there I'm gonna play. Cause I was we was just hooping. We just hooping. And they was yo, you could probably play. I You I could play? It's you still got us all right, bets. And then I went I walked to the facility at Houston. Yeah. But you 'cause you always had R I got connections a little bit just for my s my adventures and always had your jersey on. You never left your jersey. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And they was like, Yo, I heard about you. You you were hooping? So you're 'cause I see your jersey, so I Right. Fast forward, so I play. So if you wanna, you know Be with me and invest in invest, you know, or start some kind of family unit. We could do that 'cause I I would play for the rocket so I got I have resources. ⁓ also the big fake chain was hilarious too. The big fake chain. Like the to work out in the big fake chain as if like it's just there's no obstruction. It's it's more of a it is as evil as the nigga is, as scammin, you scamming as nigga is. Yeah. It's a it's a reflection of society now that like we glorify some of the most basic shit. Absolutely. And I don't feel that sorry for people. I'm sorry. I wanna I wanna feel I feel sorry for I don't feel sorry. I wanna feel sorry for them getting scammed out of that money because it's also innocent people who just are like, ⁓ I'm I want love so bad. Baby stand up, go to therapy, what talk somebody. Whether it be whether it be love or business. Or business. I think you're fucking stupid though. Sorry. Yeah. Because if you if you got ten, twenty bands to give somebody because for Be ⁓ one point three million, that had to be somebody gave some significant money. They were taking out loans. So you They were taking out loans and giving us thinking money. I I just I don't know. I just I do feel I I d I feel insanely Yeah, like I'm like I'm like this shit is crazy. Like this is the funniest shit ever. And then there's the other the other lady, she was on Temptation Island. She was posing ⁓ in ⁓ like a a fake capping gown or like a fake like she used to do like get ready with me videos on She's a physician assistant at Duke. Yeah, that's what it was. And she said that she had graduated as a physician assistant at Duke. ⁓ meanwhile, she was on Temptation Island like last season. It's time to scam. Look. I think scammers are and everything. Everyone gotta be because I mean AI already got y'all, you know. A lot of people are scamming in in and you go to these live shows and y'all are mid. I've seen so many mid the amount of bad comedians I've been around the past seven years as I've been doing this, is is one that we should it's kind of crazy. I know. It's it's bad. The scamming, the scamming ass niggas that, you know, she wasn't, I don't think that she did say spin that shit. And I just Yeah. Everyone, please be careful out there because y'all are dumb as fuck. Yeah. And y'all are giving your money away and y'all listening to people who ain't had no credentials. And I'm gonna make fun of you. Every time. Yeah. It's not good. It's really embarrassing. ⁓ RP, one of the best white ladies of all time, Dolly Partner. ⁓ my God, I was I was bereaved. I didn't realize how cool she was until after the fact. I forgot I didn't realize she was I mean her w her Tina Marie, best white ladies of all time. I think me is Rosie cool. We fucking Rosie. O'Donnell. I like Rosie O'Donnell. Ricky, I feel like Ricky Lake is really one of the best white ladies too. Ricky Lake? I don't I don't know enough to say that we I just feel like for us to not know enough it means that she was one of the good ones. Maybe. You know what I'm saying? Like damn Ricky. Or or she was down. I think Ricky held us down. She was any white lady that was thick and then skinny at one point, and like I feel like She probably held us down a little bit. That's a good one too. Yeah, Martha was holding it down too. She I mean, she's still doing her thing too. She'd be on the stuff. Yeah, I saw I was on the same fight as Martha a couple months ago. ⁓ really? You didn't say hi? I did. ⁓ You said Martha. You were sitting next to each other? Martha, yeah. Yeah. Hey mom. I mean you can start a situation. That's I was like, that's crazy. But no, yeah. R.I.P. Dolly P that was real sad. I was bereaved for a minute. RIP Tim Curry. I didn't also didn't know that Dolly Parton ⁓ ri sang the I Always Love You. I didn't know Whitney's song was a cover of Dolly. Yes. And my You didn't know shit about Dolly, is what I'm hearing. Sorry, bro. I'm obsessed with white women like you are, nigga. Yo, they had this show cut the they had she had like so you know middle t medieval times. Yeah. All right. So Dolly Parton had her own thing. It was called the it's called the Dixie Stampede. And when I was younger, we would go. There was one in Florida, there was one on like Branson Resort. Then my sister had like a basketball tournament or something. And we went and we went to the Dixie fucking Stampede and it was sensational. ⁓ shout out to Dolly for always being a a longtime husband too. Shout out to the niggas that be In the back. Bruh, in the back. You got a baddie. She's just like, man, look, do your thing. You on tour, baby? All right, baby girl. He said he wanna be on it. She said he said don't ever take me to no fucking war shows. Don't I don't wanna be in none of that shit. I just want to love on you. That's a good man right there, Bubba. And that shit cute. A great man. I'm a great. Yeah, you cracking, you cracking dolly. You on some just a chill nobody really knows you. You crack a dollar. You you rich as fuck. Yeah. You on some chill shit. You need your toes rubbed, baby. Yeah. I gotcha. But I mean Damn, baby. Is that your country voice? Yeah, yeah. That's what they sound like. You did your toes rub, baby. I got you, baby. Don't worry about it. They're the critics. Don't worry about none of them damn critics. If that's my only job, yeah. I'm home just like you don't worry about the critics, baby. Don't worry. Rubbing rubbing the feet for a while. ⁓ yeah. I'm doing laundry. ⁓ you want me to just do your laundry? I'll do your draw. I'll do your draw. My bare hands. I you like these hand walls. ⁓ baby, come on home. Let me rub on your body. No, yeah. You've been at the crib all day picking out fucking grills. You buying a new grill every three months. I'm gonna get this new gas grill, baby. It's intertwined. I mean, again, she was already a very, very successful, you know, like artist in general, but she was talking about how much money she was making from Whitney's I Will Always Love You cover. ⁓ Yeah, I mean she got all of the ⁓ the publishing for it. That's tough. So she would get like millions and millions of dollars. Millions and millions of dollars. Good, a good white. All let's get into the body of today's podcast. Yeah. Some real topics we can dive deep into. I've had this thought dating. ⁓ I think a lot of rhetoric around courting, courtship. Yep. In dating is talked about in men not courting enough. And what that means, you know, like there's the heterosexual, you know, part of it, you know, there's the queer part of it that is I'm sure maybe a little bit different. And like more complex, but I think like specifically talking about like heterosexual. The whole idea of like courting versus chasing and what that can mean or even look like. As a guy, I you know, I'm a little bit more traditional in a sense, I don't mind courting a woman and putting that effort, right? Like, ⁓ I'm paying for this no dates. ⁓ I'm setting the plan, I'm making a plan. I'm Creating most of the inertia for us to be with each other and see each other. But at a certain point as a nigga, there is a fine line between courting and chasing to me that I feel like if I have to chase you, then the momentum's gonna die relatively fast. Because the I was thinking sometimes as a man, there is a vulnerability to like courting, and there's also an investment that you have to make in courting. Your time time and money. Which at times for me are equally as important. How much money I'm spending on you, how much time I'm spending on you. 'Cause since you were someone with two full time jobs, now you could even say three with podcasting, comedy, and my day job. Yeah. Yeah. I like I can't really waste an evening or two a week. Like I you know, it's just not feasible. I'm always cutting something up, I'm always at a show, I'm always or doing my fucking day job, which is also pretty hard. Mm-hmm. So, So I think I like examples like, you know, all right, I'm I'm I'm not on the I've deleted the apps, I'm not on Henry anymore and I've canceled my ride. I think I've like another day on rye or something. But I'm like it's I'm not even responsible. Get somebody like I've had a couple when I f first moved back, a couple numbers that I got, whether it be on apps, whether it be online, whatever, like let's make a plan, boom, boom, boom. So maybe like I am like trying to make a plan or like I'm super busy, but I would love to link in a week. And if I don't feel like you're excited about meeting me and or like responding properly, I'm gonna probably debt it. ⁓ one thousand Like I had a I had a a ⁓ I don't know if I say this or not on here, but I was when I first moved back, I had someone that I knew on Instagram for a minute. Cute, cute girl. And ⁓ when I came back, I was like, ⁓ I'm back in town, I love to, you know, get dinner or whatever. Made reservations. Say I say I made reservations on like Friday. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. ⁓ I think I made the reservation, then she didn't reply back. I made a reservation and solidified them, then I asked her another question. I'm not a big texter, but I did ask another question to kind of move the conversation along, whatever, whatever. Didn't hear back again. I think we might have made the plans might have been for Monday, let's say. Okay. I didn't hear anything until like Monday, like almost Jaminar afternoonish. ⁓ no, I've already made new plans. I'm taking somebody else on that date. Well th well that that day I actually just went to the movie. That's how I'm not I know. ⁓ okay. Well but this was a Monday night. Like I wasn't whatever. But to me it was like, you know, she was like I mean she wasn't and she honestly wasn't even like rude in my in the response. I just was like, look, let's just take a beat. Like this is not that serious. I'm not about to take anybody on a date that like effectively leaves me on red for like two days. And because if you 'cause go ahead. No, you go ahead. I've been talking too long. Go ahead. No, I I will say in that scen scenario, I will I unfortunately and maybe it's just the you know ⁓ the queer I want somebody to love me, I I got like a little bit of grace for that kind of shit of just like 'cause like extending it to be like motherfuckers get busy, shit happens. And so I'll give a little bit of grace in that scenario. Because again, I don't know what you got going on. I know what I got going on, but I don't know what you got going on. So for example For example, another situation happened where I was like, ⁓ hit hit this dude up and I was like, ⁓ we were messaging back and forth and I'm saying, ⁓ let's meet up. Like let's, you know, hang out, whatever. He's like, ⁓ I'm I'm free on Tuesdays. And I was like, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. And I said, all right, cool. Let's do Tuesday evening. And then he was like, All right, yeah, ⁓ I'll let you know because that depends on how tired I am after Monday. I'll let you know. And this was on a Saturday, Friday, Saturday. I said, Okay, cool, keep me posted. Never said anything, didn't say, ⁓ hey, I'm tired, never said any of those words to me. And so my first instinct is to unmatch with you. Cause this is on hinge. My first instinct is to unmatch with you. But I was like, let me go ahead and ask. Like, hey, I guess you were busy? Yeah. And he was like, Yeah, this shit happened. That thing happened. It was so crazy. It was a lot of stuff. And I said, Okay, I can give you that. But again, you have to make the next plans. Right. You know what I'm saying? Like you have to you have to show some type of like you want this thing to be happen. Or else I'm good. And I'm no longer. I will say I think that's a little bit different because not not that me and this girl had like a crazy relationship, mm-hmm, but we had followed each other for like over a year. And like, you know, ⁓ back and forth little messages, he he ha ha, flirt here, flirt there, you know, or just like earnest conversation, whatever. So there was at least some context to be like, we follow each other for you know, you have these parasocial relationships where of course you this person's of course, of course. ⁓ you might have one mutual and All this is to say I'm not it wasn't like I was like actually mad at this person. Yeah. But for me as a guy, and this and I think this is for a lot of people. Y you know, you're a young person, attractive person in the city. Once you don't feel that gravitational pull towards somebody, it's like not worth it. 'Cause I'm not lonely. I have shit to do that I could be doing or I could be resting right now. So so for me to like want to make a plan. And then feel like there's a lack of like reciprocation. Even just interest. If I'm gonna spend that time, whatever, because I was once again, I'm not planning on texting you all fucking weekend. I might just ask, like, ⁓ how was that thing that you just mentioned? To like butter up the conversation. We hadn't talked been talking in a minute. So it was like I I hit you to make plans. Other than that, we've been like kind of cold, say, you know, for the past whatever, few or even a few weeks. Like we just kind of we follow each other, but we're not like Dating, we're just like whatever. So I'm I live in the city now, so look, you what you what you getting into? What's what's the vibes? Whatever, whatever. I'm trying to like at least relatively butter up the conversation. I don't want to talk to you all day. Now that's that that's that's chase. That gives chase You know what I mean? When someone isn't right. Because exactly so any type of injury. So if I said the the date and then I then you leave me on red and then I'm like, all right. I don't hear at all from you 'cause I'm not also not about to text you again on money like, are we still on after you didn't respond to my shit. ⁓ one thousand percent. I understand what you're saying. Like And that's just one example. So I think there's like a there's a fine line of like, all right, I think as a shorty, I think there is also responsibility for someone who's yearning you or chasing you or I'm sorry, courting you to like reciprocate a level of interest so that person feels confident in the courting. I think that makes a significant that makes a real difference. I got a question. ⁓ How and and again it has been a minute for me ⁓ dating women, but like do women not make plans at all? ⁓ but and so this goes to the next thing. I think the mo the best relationships that I've had that have been long lasting, whether you know situationships or just relationships rooted in care and like trust, is after those first like two or three dates, it levels out. It should to me level out in the in the place of like planning. And things. We've been on two, three dates. We've been on say three dates. Maybe we've made out at least once. Maybe we even hooked up. At that point, I feel like the communication we spent ten plush hours with each other, probably at least off of three days, twelve days, you know, whatever. Getting know each each other. Still new, but we're getting to know each other. We've talked about all the favorite things. We probably maybe had one or two deep conversations, hopefully by date three, right? Like three dates, that's that kind of level of like I understand where you're at a little bit as a person. Yeah. I think after that third day, there's nothing wrong with a shorty being like, ⁓ I know we talked about this spot on date two. Would you wanna go? Or like, you know, you know, actually my friend is playing a set here. Would you wanna go with me? And so and so that's why I'm in this space of like in ⁓ 'cause what you're saying is it sounds like the courting part is solely or in the the on the onset, the initial courting part is on the man to be like, Hey, I wanna see you. Hey, let's go. And that's totally fine. Right. But at some point, when I'm doing the courting or I'm, you know, reaching out and doing these things and I'm the only one that's putting in that effort. I'm the only one that's setting any plans. I'm the only one that has any fucking idea of what we're gonna do. And it's not like you being like, hey, like you said, like, ⁓ there's this exhibit I really want to check out. Do you want to go with me? Like it's like moments and and things like that where I'm like It it has to be that. We're building towards partnership. Yeah. And I think partnership, you know, there's different roles in the partnership. But if I feel like the only w reason or way that we s I see you is if I make a plan, after a while that's gonna become like kind of exhausting. One thousand percent. Because because you know, ⁓ ultimate committed relationship, that shouldn't be the case. I shouldn't feel like if I don't see you, you know. If I don't make plans to see you then I won't see then I won't see you. Then I just won't see. That's crazy. So if we're gonna work towards being together, whatever that looks like, I think there has to be a mutual desire to be like, all right, you know, I've Danny's playing a couple dates, he's paid for at least most of them shits. Okay, like, you know, I w I did want to see this movie that I brought up. Do you wanna get, you know, I'll get his tickets, let's go. Or yeah, once again, my friend is is has a birthday here and want to get drinks next door. It's a cool spot that I know. Or like you know, most more times not, you don't live in the same neighborhood as someone you're dating, so it's like, ⁓ that this spot d in my neighborhood I love, let me put you on. You know what I'm saying? Like it doesn't have to be some crazy, extravagant we're going on a trip. But I think as a guy It's that gives me more confidence to be like, damn, all right, let me send this motherfucker some flowers. Let me plan another date. Cause you might have like you might get in that group of like, you know, outside date, outside date, outside date, then boom, maybe we do a couple of dates where you're just coming over to my crib, third, fourth date, fifth date. Let me hook s let me cook for you. Let me let's get a movie night. Let's relax and cuddle. But that shit gets expensive. Right. Or in the in just even fucking exhaustion of like, do I really need to be at a loud bar right now. ⁓ I see which is a intimacy of just like your level of like actually connecting and actually having a conversation and seeing how that goes. Yeah, you know what I'm saying? ⁓ I will say chasing, ⁓ you know, back in the back in the day I didn't I didn't you know You chased a lot? I wouldn't say I chased a lot. But I didn't necessarily ⁓ again I was a young queer boy. So it was very like you I had to like I didn't know where to get, I didn't know how to do it. I didn't know I literally because again, my relationships, it wasn't they weren't this my relationships aren't the same as they used to be, right? Like talking to another dude is really fucking stupid. Honestly, I curse the skies all the time. But like having to reach out and and again, I if I'm saying if I respond to your fucking story, this goes out to you. If I respond to your story, Leroy. If I go if I respond to your fucking story and You thumbs up my response, and that's all you say? Bitch fuck you. Yeah, that's a lie. Yeah. Bitch fuck you. Yeah. I'm trying to, I'm trying to flirt. I see. I'm trying to flirt. I'm like, I put the hard eyes on your shit. Boom. And then I said some shit. Fine shit. And it was like a question too. Can I beat? And you give me the thumbs up? No, it wasn't the question. I could crack. That wasn't the question. Let me crack. And then the thumbs up is crazy. Which is insane, right? I'm like, okay, cool, I'm done. Like, or I'm like, ⁓ wow, that looks good. Somebody, ⁓ you cook it? ⁓ that shit look delicious. I signed your shit, be yo, that shit look fire. Like Don't think so. Where my plate. Good looking out, big bro. That's what he told me. That's actually my actually my least favorite thing that niggas do. When I'm about to like they be like, you hate without me. ⁓ yeah you took a shower without me. What the fuck? You nasty freaky frog bitch. That's me though. That's you? Ew. If we had a certain point, yeah, ⁓ that's crazy. If you've been in my city and you didn't tell me. No no no, I'm talking about strangers. ⁓ no, that's a scary. I'm talking I'm talking like somebody like you just met and you y'all just exchanged, ⁓ what you about to do? ⁓ I just left the gym about to hop in the shower. ⁓ damn, without me? What? You nasty freaky fro I actually don't really like Yeah, for me to take a shower with you, it's gotta be like ⁓ we washing off just Us. Yeah. It can't be We washing us off. We took a shower and then we just taking another, you what I'm saying? But it's not this not my real shower. This is like a performative like we just not gonna be musty shower. But I'm not like I'm not getting clean in here. I'm just getting pr I'm presentable again. You know what I'm saying? I'm good enough to like walk around and be Yeah, yeah. This ain't like, you know, I'm going to dinner and this is like my thing. Unless we stagger. Yeah, exactly. You get two minutes to get your shit off, and then I get you what I'm saying. Boom, but we just come in, we walk in hands held hold together at the same time. And you'll likely get out before I do. Because I got to stay in it just a little bit longer. I got to get myself. I like I like my pants. I can't be bending over cleaning my ass with a shorty in the shut. That's the worst part. That's the hardest part, actually. Is it really? Taking a shower with a shorty, and I'm I gotta fucking bend over and get my ass clean because I'm gonna get my ass clean. But you can't see me like this. Not in front of you. I'm gonna do but you gotta turn around. I'm gonna be fucking ⁓ please sit your ass down. I'ma look at you'll be looking at me, I'm gonna be like Stop! Hell no. Yeah, look at you. You look so you look so good, girl. Anyways, she probably shoulder too, so you right in her face. Yeah. Yeah. No, nigga. That's crazy. I can't be out here. Nah. Yeah. You gotta leave for a second. Yeah. I gotta be You can't be on the other side. Other side's even worse. I want you to see my ass like that. Yeah. Turn around real quick. So I can clean my foot so I can properly get everything ⁓ Yeah, that's crazy. Yeah, without me. Yeah. Yes, please. Every time, preferably showers of intimate. yeah, fuck y'all for not responding to people who are nice. But yeah, but the the chasing thing ⁓ the I guess to put it capital on that, I feel like this the chasing part of it all is it's such a I I think as a guy, I wanna feel comfortable in courting, in going after you. Yes. So I think one the moment that I feel safe security in that, and not say we're gonna be together, but like the security in courting you, yeah. I feel like I can be so much better more confident in doing it. Yeah. And how I should. But like trying to like, you know, coy. I mean, I one girl, she like canceled once and and after the fact she said she made it up. The reason why she canceled, I'm like, I don't fuck you think I ⁓ shit. You think that I like, I don't this sounds this is gonna sound really bad. I don't fucking need this. Yeah. And I and and it's not healthy, but it's the this is how I may be vulnerable with y'all. This is how I I don't need this. If I wanna be with you, I wanna be with you and you wanna be with wanna be with me. We're gonna figure it out and like if it becomes something more, great. Beautiful. But we we went on, you know, a couple of dates. You think that I need like I I don't ha I don't care about you yet, to be honest. There was this one dude who I he and I were messaging back and forth and maybe I said this on the last I don't remember, but we were messaging back and forth and ⁓ he was like, ⁓ what you what you doing tonight, like less like tonight. And I was like, ⁓ I have an event tonight, ⁓ but what are you doing the rest of the weekend? Uh-huh. And he was like, ⁓ he just said, shaking my head. Like SMH. And I was like, ⁓ Okay. Like is I was like, Okay, like, what are you doing this week? And he said, ⁓ I'm busy too. I'ma say I'm busy too, just so that ⁓ you like Yeah, so so next time you wanna hang out, I'm busy too. And I was just like, What? That that you bitch, I don't even first of all, I don't know you. Second of all, I'm telling you I have some plans and now you're upset because you feel like you got rejected. So now when I say, ⁓ like like I'm trying I'm trying to troubleshoot that. I'm trying to find a solve for it to be like, Hey, you know, when are you free? I'm free on this day. When are you available so that we can align up on the schedule? One of my biggest pet peeves. Some fucking strength. With me right now, but even just in general. I'm in like a really sensitive part of my life right now. Like My job is insane a little bit. Stand-up is insane a little bit. I just moved across country. I've had some health shit with my family. You what I'm saying? I've just been a a lot has gone on and I've like been I'm really good at just like powering through shit, right? But like I can't really afford a lot more like chaos. ⁓ yeah. When it comes to dating. No. And I think I get really bothered sometimes when like I'm I'm playing it well, I'm wearing it well, but then when a shorty's like almost Blaming me for like not putting in a certain amount of effort or like saying a thing or like not planning a thing two weeks in advance. It's like baby girl. I just just because I'm like not in a mental, you know, ⁓ fucking hospital doesn't mean that I'm just like perfect. Like 'cause let's be very clear. We are one we are one iota away from like fucking snapping. Like that's what that's what life is given for so many of us. We are this we are all this fucking close to the And I think as a as men, like, you know, we just we're always supposed to be like super hard and you know not hard, but like You you you brush it off. You you carry you putting your book back. I will say that not being straight is that's like the best thing that I don't gotta always be. Sure. Yeah, sure. I I think I think that's like the And for what it's worth and for what it's worth, I I am. Like I if I am like I can take a lot of shit and I and I'm I don't I don't shy away from that. Of course. But at the same time when I feel like you're not taking into account taking that into account, I'm gonna be annoyed. Like this isn't like it it it can't always be about you. when I'm also going through some shit. Yeah. And I'm happy to be that rock, that foundation. I'm happy to plan a thing. I'm happy to see you. I'm happy to pick you up from the thing. I'm happy to do the things. But whenever I feel like you're taking inventory of me like falling short is when I get annoyed really, really fast. Cause it's weird. You're playing this you're playing the game, you're playing this game. This game that I don't want to play. I do not like the games. I don't want to play the fucking games. If I say that I'm busy, it has nothing to do with you. It has everything to do with my schedule, what I have going on. And and it was a work event too. Right. Like it wasn't even you know what I mean? It wasn't even like I was a blown, like no, it was a work event. Did I say work event in my response? No, because it shouldn't fucking matter. I'm busy. Your response to me is, ⁓ well, I'm gonna be busy too, so that we can da da da. And then and then after I call you out on it, ⁓ the ⁓ I was I was just playing. You weren't. You weren't just playing. And I don't know you enough to take you as sarcasm. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? Cause even when I asked you, ⁓ when are you free? You never answer the question. You still avoided that person. You know what I really you what's crazy? I think more people need To go back and read their text messages to see how they come off. Absolutely. Like in the moment you like you think one thing, you say one thing, but like a week later, go back and see what you typed. And I think oftentimes you'd be ⁓ I actually how it's not clear in my communication. And and also just like, how is somebody supposed to respond to me if I say this thing? Yes. Because oftentimes ⁓ shorty will text something, I'm like, what am I supposed to say to this? That's not either rude or or showing how annoyed I am. You know what I'm saying? No one. It's like at a certain point, I'm just like, I'm just gonna not reply or or really take a beat before I reply because I'm I'm actually pretty annoyed by what you just told me or what you just ignored, I said. Yeah. Or you're trying to like s scoff at Yeah, like you're you're doing this whole like I'ma get you back. Get me back for get I didn't get you. Or or or like it's weird. It's not even it's a get back. It's like sometimes it's like ⁓ But that's how people sometimes it's like a lack of awareness. Mm-hmm. ⁓ And and w and we all kind of go through things. I think that's like what's the the beauty of like a proper relationship is like being each other's peace. So most people are going through shit. There's very few people that aren't like, whether it be family, other love life shit, other emotional shit, whatever, whatever. So I feel like as in this phase of life, as like I've also gone back to like I'm I'm downshifting dating a lot. And I'm like kind of like, you know, whatever, just like chilling. You have to be someone's peace. I think there's so much like funny commentary about like not, you know, being somebody's piece like pissing some nigga off, whatever. ⁓ yeah, like sometimes it's funny. It's funny, it's funny when it's funny. It's not funny when you're being But like how can you be going back to that soft place of land for somebody's like, They've had a hard day, you had a hard day. How do we mutually ⁓ decompress that hardness and be like a cool place for each other? And I think that's like a really lost art because so many people go on shit with like either a chip on the shoulder or nigga thinks a girl wants to take everything from ⁓ Yeah. you know, a girl's scorned by the last three niggas she dated that she thought was another fucking forty niners, whatever the fuck it is. You what I'm saying? So now we both aren't even trying to be either we're trauma dumping and we're not giving someone else a space to express themselves or vice versa. And now it's like we not even really coming together to be a soft place for each other. Yeah. And y'all never really created that intimacy. And I just think there's so much so much of that shit. And yeah, I don't know. I just I to put a cap on it, I think As shorties, as women who date men, I think we you need to be really cognizant about making someone comfortable to court you and chase you. 'Cause I feel like as a guy, if I am courting or chasing somebody, if I feel like confidence, I like you a lot, I fuck with you, you make me feel at peace when I'm with you. I'm gonna try to do everything I can to see you. Yeah. Make a plan or g or or change my plans or sacrifice. I can be vulnerable around you. I can be safe around you. I can let down my like this crazy shield that I have to have on every time I go out into the fucking world. And that's not to I feel like you have to be like, ⁓ I'm I'm not dating any other people or whatever whatever, but it is there's a certain feeling that as a dude you can feel of like, all right, I'm down to entertain this as much as I need to. Yeah. To see what happens because because she's coming back to me with like, ⁓ yeah, I wanna see you or like boom boom boom boom boom. And I think there's so many it's also there's so many generous shorties out here too that like the whole rhetoric that niggas have about like women want your money is kind of crazy to me. I think a lot of that is self selection. You dating a certain kind of shorty that like probably has a private jet on her hinge profile is probably not the most down to earth chick, I'm sorry. You know, yeah. Like you know, you're shooting That's you, they got you. That's you going after somebody who you you know shouldn't unless you got the ⁓ if you got the money, then do but like even if you have the money, I've dated s really successful women or no other successful niggas that could probably afford to ⁓ fly private or have flown private. That's not all over their fucking unless you're like a a really rich rapper where this is part of your persona, most people who are affluent aren't Flexing it in that kind of way. Capacity. And if they are, that's a brand of person. Exactly. Who's dating that type of that's what I'm saying. Like you're dating a type of like either dating or values of things. That's the way they're gonna do it. so the another topic that I wanted to discuss that came up in conversation last week that I just thought was really interesting. ⁓ there's this there's this rule that this person I was talking to brought up. Three month rule. But the three month rule is not for like hooking fucking. Okay. The three month rule is if you meet someone, you like them a lot. Mm-hmm. You have to give them three months to ⁓ essentially get rid of their roster. Off to off ramp their roster. Especially as a guy. As a shorty Especially as a guy. So you sh a young lady's dating a guy. Y'all like each other. Y'all y'all hitting it off. You're seeing each other multiple times a week. You're kicking it. Maybe you start fucking around, whatever, whatever. You're going towards an actual healthy, committed, legitimate relationship. Mm-hmm. This person said that you gotta give that nigga, decently motioned nigga, attractive person with a little bit of a roster, some you know, whatever, some juice, three months to offload. Everybody else in the situation. What do you think about that? I have thoughts, but I w I want to hear your honest thoughts without me saying anything. Would it would it be reciprocal if she had a roster? Sure. I'm just asking. ⁓ here's the thing. it I am very much ⁓ it does take a while to get to know somebody. Yeah. It takes a while to actually know if we're gonna like Do this thing and we're gonna like move shit forward. So three months I actually feel is kinda nice. That's a nice that's a nice little window. Huh? I think it's short. I I yeah well yeah, a little bit. I mean, I at three months, if we're dating like like and we're locked in and we're doing these things, is it like we're going we're like exclusively dating? Like when you meet like when you meet someone where it's like, ⁓ like you know, 'cause when you meet somebody After like the third date, it's like this person is somebody I really want to date. Yes. Okay. As a as a as a ⁓ mature adult that's been in serious relationships, whether you've been married or not, you know, after about three dates, I've seen you maybe different scenarios, different lighting. We've, you know, we've maybe We've done different activities. We've probably at least at least kissed at that point, if not maybe even done a little bit more. Cuddled even. Maybe we didn't fuck we'd be like slept over type shit. You know, like, ⁓ this is someone I really, really want to get to know and like fuck with. Okay. So then that and those three dates could happen in like legitimately two and a half weeks. Okay. Three weeks. Okay, okay. So so from that point where like, ⁓ I'm I'm about to entertain this earnestly, I think three months is like plenty of time to be like, all right. That's but like, all right, but damn nearby six weeks is like, yo, I gotta I can't really start I I gotta like chill on the hose. ⁓ one thou. But even when I say hose, I mean like other situations. Yeah, no, I know what she's saying. Cause you you might even have something planned. I might have a fucking trip planned. Exactly. With somebody. You make you meet somebody on the first. You plan say you meet somebody on July first. You made plans with somebody else, you know, June second. Yeah. Yeah. For August first. ⁓ huh. You know what I'm saying? August fifteenth. You're going on a trip. You coming to visit me, whatever, whatever. The July first situation. You like this could be the love of my life. I fuck with you. By two weeks in, ⁓ I fuck with you heavy. Yeah. Yeah. But a month but ⁓ but a a month from now, I got a fucking trip to whatever blah blah blah Italy with other shorty. I mean, you gotta take the trip to Italy, I guess. Yeah, probably. Or whatever the thing. I'm going to I'm going on a fucking wedding, I'm going to whatever. I'm going with short Because it was life before Yeah. We started this and Yeah, I mean I think three three months is is 'cause you're not planish most y you usually not planish shit out more than three months. I I cause that's what I'm saying. That's why I'm not all right, like especially with somebody unless somebody unless we are just even if you got a wedding to go to or something, sure. But you're not like you and I are going somewhere four months from now. No, no, no, no, no, no. If we if If I'm taking a trip with somebody to Italy, we fucking we might as well be together forever. ⁓ if we join that shit. But but I but I I do understand the scenario. That makes a lot more sense. Now I think three months is that's ⁓ You know what I'm saying? That's viable. That makes sense. 'Cause if you like somebody you really, really like somebody or an adult with free will, you live the same city. Mm-hmm. It's like, yo, this is my motherfucking I fuck with you. This heads, yeah, this this is my bitch. I like that. I just gotta we just gotta like double check all everything. You know, cause I after that, like Thirty days, forty five days of dating that we've seen each other multiple times a week. Now, the before we really lock this in, let the lotion settle in, we just gotta put ourselves in sit certain scenarios to make sure. A couple stress ⁓ tests. Are we going on a maybe we do do a trip out of town? You know what I'm saying? Maybe you meet one of my homeboys. Maybe we I have a housewarming, you come over, you know what I'm saying? Boom boom boom. I gotta it's your birthday. Okay, I'll come and be a fly on the wall for your birthday or for one of your shows or whatever the fuck the thing. Like you kind of have to you have to yeah, those stress tests. We gotta go shop for some furniture. We gotta put ourselves in situations that aren't date night. Just to see. Just to just to double check the shit. Hey, are we we doing the thing and we like this? And then you and then you do boom. All right, you know, look, nigga, we didn't we did we cut we had a couple tests. Yeah. We we fucking good. We look good. I pass the test, you pass the test. We both passing. So Will you go out with me? Will you will you? Will you go to the dance with me? No, I like that. Three month to get Three months. You need that you need that three months, dog. You need you know what I'm saying? Yeah, because that yeah. Life when it's when it's a real vibe. When it's not a vibe, it's not a vibe. And it's like, all maybe we can just draw this out for four, five, six months. When you like, ⁓ I fuck with you heavy. I'm serious about you. Then it's like, all right, let me let me get everybody out the way, out of the paint fast. I I did get a DM of the week. ⁓ let me see something. Yeah. So somebody sent me To you or is it? No, no, no, no, no. Somebody them my f my friend sent it. ⁓ somebody said ⁓ to them this morning. Good morning. Can I s can I suck? I'll give you $60. What? $60? Paying me to suck my dick is actually cool as hell. That's it sounds cooler than you think. If you it look, Danny, I'm I need to- No no no, I'm trying to tell you. It sounds cooler than you think. Like it does. It sounds great. You're gonna pay me to suck my dick? That sounds amazing. Yeah. Who is paying you? ⁓ sure, sure, sure, sure, sure. That's what I'm saying. Who is giving you? Who is down there? Remember back in the day, niggas was like, I her give me head. That was the thing. It's like, ⁓ nigga. I'll let her give me head though. What you mean? And that's what that's the sk that's like worse. And that's what I mean. Like more intimate. I'd let her give me I her you some head though. And then for $60, motherfucker, get out my face. That's dinner though. That's a single that's a good single person dinner though. Off the 60? Sixty dollars? If you if you're gonna pay me, you must really want to, and sixty dollars is not enough. I'm asking for more. Hold on what you mean. I want more. More money. If you're gonna pay me, you must really want it. Pay me more. But you you're gonna suck essentially you're saying, look, I'm gonna I'll suck your dick and take you to Applebee's. That's fire. I'll suck your dick and you get a play that Magianos on. Who's down there is what I'm saying though. Yeah, that's nasty. That's nasty as shit. Yeah, dick is I you what I've said this a lot on this podcast. Dick is closed, I think. We gotta close it up. We're closing up this dick. It is. It is indeed. ⁓ it's while it's hot right now, that weather gonna start dropping soon. So in LA? Does it get cold? Ish. I forgot how like sept like like end of September she'll probably be like she'll probably get there. End of September, October, I feel like she gonna start like getting a little bit of a little chill on there, which means you gotta chill and lay up. ⁓ I mean, yeah, I mean it gets a little chilly over here. I'll be having my heater on. You better be you think it'll be cuffed this cuffing season? I might actually. I think I might too. I might actually I gotta get out the game for at least a little bit. Mm-hmm. I got need to fucking I need to be cuddled, nigga. Yeah. You know, even going through life, I need a I need a I need someone I trust to fucking rub my scalp, nigga. Yeah. Just the street the streets. Yeah, it's horrible out here. God damn it. It so sucks. The thing is I'm so good at the streets, but I gotta get out of the st I gotta get out of them. That's that's the that's the biggest problem, is people, I don't think the streets are that bad. I just have to get out of them. ⁓ and I think that our s experiences are very different because the streets are that like I think I'm like a drug dealer in the seventies. Like before the before like technology. Where you could get where the drugs was really like Like I'm selling opium from like off you know what I'm saying? Like I'm like seventy like sixty eight, sixty nine, like ⁓ like after you know I'm saying Vietnam. I'm just I'm just Okay. I'm Frank Lucas bef like right before. You know what I'm saying? Shit. Cause the streets are good. It's like, y'all, we just chillin'. It's the police, we just move. ⁓ I I see what you're saying. Okay. Like, you know, the eighties, nineties and streets got tough. They really violent. They got really bad. And the police got better. The wire. Like, ⁓ we get we get we got technology to get these niggas. Yeah. Back then it's like I'm I'm kind of like a bootlegger in the fucking And you mind your business and Yeah. I got speaking. Yeah, you move different. You move in. It's kind of chill. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I just I just like I need I need to get out of it. Yeah, I think so too. I at least for me, it's been a while and I think I've been in that place where I'm just like, you know how you think you You little two therapized. Like I went to therapy for a little too long. I was like, nobody's fucking good. Like it was very much like Really? If well, I would say this. I don't think that people again, I think maybe I've said this on the pod too. Like, people don't understand what a relationship actually is, or like what it takes to have one. And so everyone has this everyone watch too many fucking movies. Y'all be watching too many movies. Sure. And so they have this idea of what they want a relationship to look like versus being like, hey, we're together. We can make this look exactly how we want. Have you asked that question? Like, would you want a relationship to? be versus like yeah it has to if you know if it doesn't have this then it's not then it's not a relationship if it's not like right right this thing false it's false benchmarks yeah like ⁓ this thing then ⁓ it's horrible it's wrong and I kind of like unlearn that shit in therapy and so dating people or whatever I'm just like you know we can make this how we want it don't gotta it don't gotta be like this Yeah. And and people don't get that. So I've been single for a while. That's actually that's actually ⁓ I can I can only imagine it in a in a queer situation too where like there's gender rules and ⁓ and and there's like a more even or more openness I mean this might be this is just a modern dating thing of like the sexual ⁓ you know the ⁓ E and ⁓ stuff and not like you can have a very structured looking family unit, but like Be open. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, y'all happy, y'all good, but y'all open. Or yeah, you know, you got a third or you got a fourth. Like, you know, like y'all have and y'all are fine. Like y'all are living y'all lives. And yes, everyone will have their thoughts and their feelings because everyone always has thoughts and feelings when they're miserable as well. Right. But like You could just do whatever you want to do. I saw a lot of that shit when I was on the apps heavy. Mm-hmm. It'd be these shorties it'd be E and ⁓ but they just had a kid and shit. I'm like, what the fuck is going on? Yeah. I just you know, me, I I like simple. We fuck I'm fucking you, you fucking me, and we do all everything in-house. You know a bakery has ⁓ we make the dough in house. We make the the coffee shop, yeah. We make everything. We coffee we grind or we Yeah, I don't need I don't need another nigga shipping fucking donuts. Big old black donuts into my house. ⁓ shit. I fucking love you. Anyways. All right. We got a couple listeners submitted questions. This is our segment, So I Dated. ⁓ y'all send us some some comments, concerns, some thought provoking scenarios that Torrance and I dissect. Yes. ⁓ we got t we got two actually. Maybe maybe maybe we'll get to I don't know if we'll get to both, but let's do the first quick one. This is good. How do you know the difference between love and infatuation? Mm. Mm mm. I mean I know. Is it is infatuation bad though? I mean, 'cause me when I hear infatuation, I think of like love bombing. Yes. Like I I'm I'm obsessed with you, but I'm not necessarily committed to your well-being. Cause love to me is like foundational. Love is holistic. Love is unconditional. Infatuation feels like you are convenient to me because you look really good, you make me feel good, you have a certain status. And I want that. Yeah. I need that. Very tangible things versus like I l love who you are on your good and your bad days. And if I'm infatuated by you and you're going through some shit and you're having bad days in plural, right, I can't handle that 'cause I'm just infatuated by the the good parts of you. Yeah. Love is the also the bad parts of you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And so That's how I would, that's how I know the difference between love and infatuation. If I'm from my own self, right, from my own self, right? Like I like this version of you that you are presenting and I'm infatuated by that. Love is like, ⁓ I know you deeply. I know you enough to say no matter what I got you, you're gonna piss me off, you're gonna do these things, but I'm here. God damn it, I'm here. You know? Yeah, I think love is that like those moments where you want to uplift somebody when they are down. Like you get we have the motivation to help someone when they are less than a hundred percent. I think that's love. You are injured. You're mentally injured. You had a h tough day. You had a great day. And you need someone to fucking tell you you had a great day. You know, there's all a lot of us are sprinting hard, white knuckling life, hustling, like I said earlier. So it's great to have someone that like, damn, you really killed that thing. Good job. You hear this from all these people, but like you wanna hear that sometimes from the person you're fucking or the person that you're cuddling up with. Like, damn, you really are talented. You're cold as fuck. You're good at what you do. And same thing if you're having bad day. I had a rough day at work. This sucks. having someone there to be like, you know, fuck them, we'll figure it out or whatever, whatever, whatever. I think that's like in action. And I'll also say that love is inconvenient. At times, yeah. It can be very inconvenient because of what love requires. versus infatuation, right? Like infatuation really doesn't require much of you. Right, right. You know, love does. It requires so much more. Like it it requires you to drop everything and go. You know what's funny? I mean, as I like ⁓ I I've talked about this a little bit of just like trying to slow down and dick his clothes, all this kind of stuff. Being funny, but I I do think that like I take relationships serious. There's some people that, you know, you probably know that I know that like They'll hide they'll date somebody and and they just wanna be in a relationship. So even if there's like major red flags I was I was looking at this fucking TikTok, this girl ⁓ got pregnant by this nigga, was dating this nigga. She was she was young. But he had a he had a bunch of bread and he and like they knew all these red flags about him. He had like four kids about four chicks and was like a sketchy guy, met him in the club. But she's like still kind of went with it 'cause he like breaded up or whatever. ⁓ But I think that ⁓ what point was I trying to make? I don't know what I was making by that. I just think in general, I t ⁓ yeah I take relationships serious. The fact that she just went to the relationship 'cause like he was sh he had motion to me is like so anybody that's infatuation, right? I'm infatuated by this lifestyle, this this person you can give me. Yes. Your attractiveness, your status is cool. Versus I don't love I don't know you to love ⁓ whether you are breaded up or broke, I need to how do you make me feel as a nigga, as a person? When I'm either when I'm fresh as hell or when I'm crusty in the morning. When I have a great day or have a bad day, how do you make me feel consistently? We might have a bad we might have an argument, maybe have a disagreement, maybe have an annoyed hour or two with each other. But holistically, how do make me feel? That is what I take into consideration if I'm gonna be in a committed relationship with somebody. And I think so often people are just like, circumstantially, this person looks good. They have they make enough money that I is ⁓ it's either acceptable or exceptional. They cross at least most of my moral, you know, rules. Fuck it, let's send it and see what happens. Yeah. And me not even most, some. Yeah, right. Yeah, like the compromise of like s I I'm gonna I'm gonna just look the other way because I want I want to be with somebody so bad and I will take it I need I need a lot more than that because I I'm unfortunately really comfortable in the streets. So I need to feel like I need to feel whole with you. No, no, I get it. So I'm not gonna cheat on you. I'm not gonna cheat. I'm not gonna cheat. I'm not gonna be in the streets. So for me to be with I need to feel like, damn, I fuck with you heavy. Yeah. And that's not like a threat. It's just like I know it when I know it. I'm like, all right, this is I wanna entertain this and be with you. And all everything else stops in time. This is you and I. But if I don't feel that, then I'm just not going to stop. I'm just not gonna stop. I'm not gonna put in the fucking effort. Yeah. ⁓ What time do we have? Maybe we can do this one more. Ooh, actually we don't need to do that one. I can maybe wait until let's do it. We got time. We do it quick. Yeah, we read that. All right. You want to read it or you want me? ⁓ yeah. Okay. All right. Recently got laid off and been looking for work for several months. My girlfriends have been encouraging me to date since I have more free time. But I feel like shit trying to date while not having my shit together, not feeling confident, being broke while dating. Am I bugging? Or should I get out there and start dating? I thought this maybe it's come up before, but I d I do feel like if this is a ⁓ this is a girl, I'm assuming. See my girlfriends, yeah. Mm-hmm. I think so. I mean as a shorty, I think you can kind of you can date. I think as a shorty, there's less pressure for you to provide and have the money up front to date somebody. So I think that life should still go on beside I outside of your like career. Yeah. Like I think s too often everything is attached to our career and that if our career is not perfect, we stop living other parts of our life. And I think that's like a really unhealthy connection to have life connected to your nine to five job, which you may or may not fuck with. Shout out to capitalism. You know what I mean? Like yeah, you know. Yeah. So I I just I just think that like maybe you slow down, maybe you, you know, shift it down or whatever and like spend more time focused on LinkedIn or focus on your cover letter no, focus on networking and connecting 'cause looking for a job is a full time job. But I feel like if you meet s a cool man at the gym or at work or on the bus or whatever the fuck, you know, at your at a house party, I think you should entertain it. And even as a guy, I think even too. Hey, like I'm I'm between jobs, but I'll fuck with you. Cause I think the right person is gonna be like, ⁓ this person's cool. They're in between shit, but I see the vision. So maybe we we can Do a park date. Or maybe I got you for this one. You know what I'm saying? Whatever, we scale it down or figure it out or adjust it. Cause I think I've I've dated girls where I've been between jobs earlier this year. And it was a cool, cool vibe. Like, you know, I was still, I had a little bit of bread and I was doing okay, but like we were able, she fucked with me and I fucked her to the point where we still could like make our connection work. And it wasn't like a total like stop. Mm-hmm. Just because I didn't have like a full time job necessarily still. Yeah, I mean, I agree. I think having you gotta live. Like you still have you still gotta live, mama. You still got to go outside. And you gotta get cracked too. You gotta yeah, like please. Like please don't get cracked gonna help you it's gonna help you get a job out of you. Don't don't let don't let this that don't let that bitch ass job keep you from living your yeah, amazing, fantastical life. Like you are a person outside of it, you know You will get another one. That's kind of how it goes. Like shit happens and it may take long, but you're going to get another one. It it's it's just a part of the cycle of shit. And it sucks right now. The job market is awful and you probably feel bad or whatever. Like I wouldn't like you said, not overindulging and like losing your mind and going crazy on dates and just jumping from, you know, whatever. That may make you feel a little uncomfortable. But like, yes, go outside, say hello. Meet some people. It also depends on where you live too, 'cause like if you New York, if you know a nigga's paying for you, I mean look, you n should never leave the house and not be able to pay for your food and get home, right? But beyond that, I think there is a there is a freedom in not working of just like r flushing your brain of the stress of a job sometimes. And yes, there's other stress that comes in and takes over. But I think there's a way that you can say, All right, look, I don't have a job right now, I'm gonna spend there's only so many hours a day you can spend looking for job. So I'm gonna wake up, go to the gym, eat, have a slow morning, then from Ten till two, I'ma do job stuff. I'm look I'ma look for jobs, I'm gonna change my I'm gonna do cover letters, I'ma ⁓ email people. Baby you do that shit you do that shit every day, baby. You're looking at the same jobs all the time. Yeah, like you know, three three, four hours of work a day. Yeah, you know, and then and then you you stop. Yeah. Maybe you you go lunch, maybe you check again, see you know, if you may have replied or whatever, you might start getting interviews in that time, that little four or five hours of work to like find your job. Maybe you're doing a certificate or something to like up up level your skills or whatever. ⁓ But after that, you gotta fucking live life. Take care of yourself, man. And and whether that's a fucking hobby that's cheap or free or whatever, or having fun being in the streets. When I've not had jobs, personally, they've been some of the best times of my life. Outside of the stress of financial shit, mentally, I've been the best ⁓ mentally health wise I've ever been when I don't have a job. Yeah. That's kind of me because I'm a creative and like you know, a nine to five isn't ideal. It's an ideal situation for me, but I forgot most people don't necessarily s thrive in like an office setting, especially if you're of color. So I don't know, I think you should be in the streets still. Yeah. I think I think you should be getting cracked. You should absolutely be in the street. Consensu I it's consensual, of course, but I think don't don't Go on dates. Don't like spend a block on the niggas. Not feeling confident. Shut so what? You should spend a block on niggas too. If you if you're unemployed, spend a block on them, you that is actually you know, that is actually a great advice. I usually don't like the spinning the block kind of scenario situation thing. Like I'm kind of like, you know fifty fifty on that if I'm being honest. But in this situation, I do think that you probably need y it would be fun to do it. If you know, obviously if they're decent enough people. It's also that time of year too where you if you was talking to somebody in March, go back. You had a couple good text messages. Hey man, you know and they feel flat, send you know what I'm saying follow up. Send a voice notes. How you been? Text. How you been? Dude, the random voice note after three, four months is good money for it's healthy for you. What you been up to? Yeah, I was thinking about you. Could have really been something, but life kinda got in between. Where you been? Yeah. 'Cause sometimes com sometimes those little petty things in a moment are feel big and then you come back like Yeah. I had I ate a cherry and that made me think of you remember when we had them cherries? Yeah. And we had that cherry in your drink and I and I and I and you handed it to me 'cause I like cherries. I I thought about you. How you been? What you been up to? I had a peach. Yeah. And I was thinking like, remember that one time we was fucking and I Grab your ass? Is that what I thought y'all was ⁓ d ⁓ bringing beaches to the bedroom? I wasn't joking. I was just putting lotion on my body and I remember you love lotion. You love you always lotioned up. You was always up. You was never you was never ashy. Anyways. Yeah. How'd your Q three going? Yeah. Ash and showed it how her Q three going is disgusting. How's Q three treating you? Yeah. ⁓ You gotta ask the questions. This is my last last thing I need to say is a toxic take. Now toxic takes Aren't necessarily toxic. They're just things that I don't want to say in the beginning of the podcast. Toxic taking this is really barely toxic, but I put up a suburban Applebee's against any American restaurant experience. Like you that's that's pr that's pretty that's pretty awful. If I go to a a well ran suburban Applebee's, my life is complete. I went to Applebee's yesterday before my show. I had a burger. That's right, San Diego. I had a burger and a corona. They got them down there. That's beautiful. And I was at the bar. TV's on every game you can ever, baseball, football, literally world whatever, boom, on on the screen. Everything is relatively cheaper. The bartender. The bartender is like some lady who maybe just got a rehab, but she makes really good pina coladas. And she's flirting with me. And I'm like, you know what, hey, sure. I'm in San Diego. If you're gonna give me a little bit more beer, ⁓ four more fries, I'll take it. I like that. I like that. But the and and the food came out in twelve minutes, cause it was microwaved. It was microwave. The the food came out so fast. It food came out in a way where I'm like, it felt so fast where like it felt like it was already made, but they just had to wait two more minutes. Just like the math for the like the the burger couldn't have been cooked. From when I ordered and it came that was nine minutes. Like schooling from when it had all the that you just pick out and pluck one on there This shit was already on the plate, but you just had to like make it seem like you just made it. Yeah. Cause it was so fast. Yeah. My I had maybe three sips of my beer before that ship was I'm like, this is crazy. But a suburban Applebee's is so fire. Okay. I mean I wouldn't put it up against any wrestler, but I do understand your experience because also nostalgia. And living in Los Angeles too, the chain there aren't many chain restaurants. No, you can't you can't go to chain restaurants in big cities. There aren't in big cities. In big cities, yes. New York no say New York, LA, Chicago. Yeah. You do not go to chain restaurants. It's disgusting. It's not a good idea. And they're few and far between in LA. Like you're like there's like one red lobster In South like South LA. Like only places I will I will go fast food in LA, Chick fil A, really Chick-fil-A, McDonald's breakfast, depending on the situation I'm in, emotionally, financially. maybe a Chipotle. And that's maybe yeah. And that's about it. And that's about it. Yeah, 'cause most of the restaurants that I do go to and most of the restaurants that are like in my like my thing, they aren't really changed. They have like three locations only in Los Angeles. So you know what I You're going to Burger King, LA, you're gonna you're disgusting. You're getting burgers at McDonald's in any LA, like you what's wrong with you, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, I do miss I do miss the like there there's a Olive Garden not too far. I did go to that day like one time and it was great. I spent like fifty dollars and got like two like Big containers of leftovers that I was taking home. Like, I will say that I do miss a chain restaurant. I I won't go I won't I won't say put Applebee's up against in them bitches, but like a good chili. A suburban. A Longhorn. When you walk into Applebee's, you there's at least two people here that voted for Trump. It's gonna the food's gonna be delicious. Don't talk to nobody. I don't wanna talk to you. That's how I feel about Cracker Burrow. Yeah. That's not filming about cracker barrel. Crackle barrel, baby, you going in the cracker barrel, baby. You finna get They put all the niggas in the back of the room, but the pancakes don't still sit ⁓ my God. Them biscuits, shit. Them fried apples? Fuck. Shout out to Cracker. And I and I'll walk around the gift shop out like I'm gonna buy something. I always play the big check again. Y'all know the big checkers. I'm always playing with the big checkers. Cracker barrel. Yeah, cracker barrel. I cannot fucking wait to come hosting the step show. And you I'm gonna ⁓ you did say that. That's right. That's gonna be funny as fuck. Yeah. It'll be a good time. Either either it's gonna be the a continuous thing or the last time. They're gonna they're gonna kick your ass out of there. Get that boy. Get that boy off that stage. I don't know what I'm gonna say. I I I I've had ideas of what I'm gonna say. You gotta fucking figure that out, cause you you riffin? Yeah! No. No. ⁓ my God. You gotta actually write. You gotta write some stuff. You have to have like a set list. No, what if what if I say no though? What if or what I d what if I do that? That's on you. You're a grown man making choices. But what I say is, you riff it, I don't think that's a good idea. I know, I'm gonna have I'ma have a plan, but I'm saying Torrance, what if in the moment I kinda wanna come out like in the crowd and just like roast people a little bit. See, and that's what I'm saying. You, you, you, you refer What is it? What is it is that? See, and that's what I'm saying. Like, just I don't think we should do this. Let's just because that's gonna be fucking whatever you're gonna say. What are rose at? What a rose at in this bitch, man. That's right, we got rose. Do we have rose? They got rose. They don't. Yes, they do. What? They got rose! No, hold on, legitimately. They got rolls! I'm about to rose the fuck out these guys. See, and that's what I'm saying. Like, that's what I mean. Like, you gotta be please don't It's Thursday too, because the rest of the weekend I'll be in a fight. You gonna set you gonna set it off and they're gonna be like, okay, hey, ⁓ Danny, we can't Danny, you we have to Nah fuck that nigga. They gotta get these. They gotta get this. If I'm gonna be if I'm going to North Carolina, if I'm leaving my beautiful, I'm leaving the beautiful at Los Angeles, go to North Carolina, somebody's getting made fun of a lot. That's true. In the middle of nowhere, North Carolina. I'm not making I'm not making enough money to be like politically correct on this thing. This is true. Anyways. This has been a great episode of Dated. I love y'all so much. ⁓ come see me live, April eleventh, if you still listen to this. September eleventh. Why'd I say April? I don't know what the hell you say April for. That's why I I think I saw I saw Applebee's. ⁓ okay, okay. But that still does not as mean April's. No. That was actually crazy. September 11th. You what's funny? I really do think I have dyslexia in a way that is like undiagnosed. It could very well be. At this point, I don't even think it's a could be. I think it's like it y you think it's a yes? At least 35% dyslexia. Well, I don't know how you type. So I type. Yeah. I'll look back at shit. I'm like, what the fuck? Why did I what is this? Why would I be saying that? So viral. It could have been. But you you know what you good though. It's too late. It's too late to be like. No, I think it's too late to be like, ⁓ I'm let me go get diagnosed now. I don't know. If you don't have to if you don't need to fill out worksheets anymore, we don't need to be getting diagnosed. Yeah, you could do anything on YouTube. You can know YouTube look at some shit and be like, how do I how do I I don't like that? If you're not if you're not filling out worksheets no more, you can't just get new stuff. Cause what else what are we doing? Cause I had cause I as someone who's probably got something, I had to go I had to hustle through it when when we was when worksheets was still out. Mm-hmm. We was popcorn reading. Mm-hmm. That popcorn read whooped Joe ass. Yeah. Damn. So so now we ⁓ we you on LinkedIn, you got a degree and shit. Now now you wanna get some nah, fuck that, nigga. You gotta just raw you gotta just go raw. Damn, man. I had to really get it out of them hood. Yeah. Cheat. Yeah. Deceit. I mean popcorn reno always made me nervous, but like I think it was damn nervous. D nervous is different. You gotta really tactically think about this. Yeah. Okay. Who's going? Danny, Danny, ⁓ I picked Danny, huh? What you mean? So ⁓ anyways, yeah. You thought I wasn't paying attention. I'm pr I was over here praying. Yeah, yeah, because ⁓ they're praying that nobody said my fucking name. That's what it was. Hand on the fucking words. So so so anyways, ⁓ you read the least amount of possible. So the dog went downstairs. Popcorn, I pick ⁓ Yeah, exactly. Damn, ⁓ you gotta go at Yeah. I'll tell you when you can pass. I'll tell you when it'll snap. Why you put me through this? ⁓ Now you 'cause now now I'm offended. Yeah. Mrs. Crawford, now you plan on my name. Yeah, yeah. I wanna embarrass you a little bit. Anyways, this has been great. Love y'all so much. Peace.
