Dr. Joe: I appreciate it, y'all. Y'all was in DC. Yeah, I was in DC, man. My my girl and I s you know, celebrated our one year anniversary, man. So I'm I'm excited. Yeah, we've been Yeah, man. Yeah. Yeah.
Oak Villa: One year? It's been one year already. Damn.
Rico_Bambino: That's fantastic, brother.
Stickman: Alright, bro.
Dr. Joe: Yeah, man. I I've been ring shopping, y'all. I've been ring shopping. So yeah. I
Rico_Bambino: Thank you.
Oak Villa: Stop playing, bro.
Stickman: Mm-hmm.
Dr. Joe: promise, man. This is the real deal, bro. Yeah, Jess and I, man, she the one, bro. She the one.
Oak Villa: it's game over for you then. You ain't doing dad's game no more.
Dr. Joe: No, no, no, I'm on this, bro. I told her, I'm I'm like you. I told her, I sat her down in a chair and I said, listen, I said, Daza Gamer is we'll we're we're running. So you either you with me or she says, I'm with you. And that's all I needed
Rico_Bambino: Agree, but...
Dr. Joe: to hear. That's all I needed to hear, bro. She told me to tell y'all what's up, man.
Oak Villa: And you popped the question right then, so she said that,
Rico_Bambino: Mmm.
Dr. Joe: I did, bro. I got on I got on my knees, bro. With no ring. I got in I got on my knees with no ring. That's that's how you know it's
Oak Villa: Come on now.
Dr. Joe: real. Yeah, man.
Oak Villa: Alright everybody, what? What we got some topics to get into. We got Xbox is not for sale. Yeah, your girl Asha,
Dr. Joe: yeah. Yeah.
Oak Villa: that's what she done proclaimed it. We got a
Dr. Joe: I love it. I love it.
Stickman: that be.
Oak Villa: Gils avoid E-Day. They broke a record with players on Steam, but also on the back end. Some
Dr. Joe: Yeah, that's all crazy. Yeah.
Oak Villa: of the, some of the, devs are kind of worried and about layoffs now that the game is out. And also, damn, already, you
Dr. Joe: yeah, that's gonna happen. Yeah, that's gonna happen. Yeah. Well we'll get into that.
Oak Villa: already calling it?
Dr. Joe: Yeah. Unless
Rico_Bambino: Ahem.
Dr. Joe: they got something else in production.
Oak Villa: That's tough, bro.
Dr. Joe: Yeah, they're gonna let some folk go.
Oak Villa: as tough.
Rico_Bambino: I'm with you on that Joe. And you know what sucks about that? Is
Dr. Joe: Yeah.
Rico_Bambino: that bonuses are coming out this month and they weren't like, they're not going to get
Dr. Joe: Facts.
Rico_Bambino: it if they get laid off before the payout,
Dr. Joe: Facts.
Rico_Bambino: which is like a spit in the face, not even a slap.
Dr. Joe: Yeah.
Stickman: you.
Oak Villa: Damn. All right. And last but not least, we got some steam discounts are becoming more dynamic for each user.
Rico_Bambino: Yeah.
Dr. Joe: Okay.
Oak Villa: So before we get into everything, we just want to say thank y'all for joining us. Make sure to hit that like, share and subscribe button and tell fellow dad about us. We in this for the long run. So
Dr. Joe: Right.
Oak Villa: before we get into it, boys, how we feeling? How y'all doing?
Dr. Joe: Yeah.
Rico_Bambino: Great, excellent.
Stickman: You're doing good, man.
Dr. Joe: Man, feeling great, bruh. I ran Rick blood pressure up last night. You know what I mean? But it was my fault, but it won't my fault, if you understand what I mean by that. It
Stickman: you
Oak Villa: You
Dr. Joe: was my fault, but my men my brother didn't hear me when I when I made the call out 'cause the audio went out. So but yeah, but he
Oak Villa: Mm. Okay.
Dr. Joe: clutched it. All I wanna say was he w he was he was the Rico of old last night, bro. He but he dug deep in them pockets last night.
Oak Villa: I'm
Dr. Joe: To to pull out to pull out the the the the day one division one Rick. You know what I'm saying? It was dark dark zone Rick last night. He was fresh, man. He ready.
Stickman: But he was fresh.
Oak Villa: God, that's back in the day playing with Doobie
Rico_Bambino: Bro.
Oak Villa: when he ran Joe's pockets.
Dr. Joe: Yeah, man. Hey, look, shout out to Doobie, man. Hey, Doobie, we was talking about you. Rick and I was just talking about you, bro. Man, add and tell your mama we said hello, bro. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, tell us.
Stickman: Yeah, definitely.
Rico_Bambino: Yeah. Hey, it ain't how it sounds, Doobie, all right? We ain't trying to be funny about it, but...
Dr. Joe: It ain't y'all, it ain't, it ain't see.
Oak Villa: It's exactly how it sounds. Rico lay on that mama bae.
Dr. Joe: Ha ha
Rico_Bambino: Hey, easy,
Dr. Joe: ha.
Rico_Bambino: easy, easy, easy.
Dr. Joe: Yeah. Yeah, man.
Oak Villa: So we had two guys playing division last night. We had another man rolling a shoot of soul glow. That's what we got.
Stickman: I'm that too.
Dr. Joe: Just let your soul glow.
Oak Villa: Alright.
Dr. Joe: Yeah, man.
Oak Villa: First things first, Xbox is not for sale.
Dr. Joe: Hey, let's do it. Let's do it. Yeah, man.
Oak Villa: Dr. Joe, how we feeling man? What you gotta say about your girl Asha when she said this?
Dr. Joe: Listen, listen, it goes back to when we were all were having a conversation. And y'all remember we were talking about, you know, what was gonna be the life of Xbox and they got to double down if they're gonna do this. And Rick, shout out to Rick then. Rick was like, they have to, they have to stay the course. And Asha came out and she said, Hey, we are doubling down on it. We are gonna do what we have to do. We're gonna work with Microsoft. We're gonna make the decision that we have to do. We're invested for the long haul. Bro, I'm I'm so grateful that she said it because the community has been kind of iffy. I know I was. And
Rico_Bambino: .
Dr. Joe: I I'm I'm excited, man. I like I like the fact that she's doubling down on, hey, this is what we're gonna do. And I think it was needed. And again, I said this a couple weeks ago. I'm gonna say it again. I like the fact that she is engaging. That she's stepped that she's stepping out and she's you know doubling down on everything that they're doing. I love that, man. So, man, hey, Asha, shout out to
Rico_Bambino: If it wasn't for that comment...
Dr. Joe: you. We would love to have you on the channel, you know, to
Rico_Bambino: Yeah.
Dr. Joe: to sit with us. If you would, I we would love that. So just, you know, think about us as you are making your rounds.
Oak Villa: Mm-hmm. Okay, stick man. How you feeling about that? You think the word salad
Stickman: I mean.
Oak Villa: you think it was it was meant to be or needed to be said
Stickman: But.
Oak Villa: like Joe's Joseph saying
Stickman: She said what needed to be said. And as far as I'm concerned, she said what really had to be said. I mean, if you want us to invest in this new console you got coming up, right? I don't need to hear about changing the course right now, you know, because then we're going to see more undecided or unsure of the product that we're putting out. So she said the right thing, man. I'm all for it, you know? There's more people rallying for Xbox now than I've seen in years, You know what mean? I
Dr. Joe: Facts.
Rico_Bambino: Yeah.
Stickman: mean, I didn't even know it was that many of us left, to be completely honest. I mean, seeing it seeing the comments, you know, A lot of reviews for the new Gears of War game, of course, put out by Microsoft. I mean, a lot of that is just, it's a breath of fresh air, bro. That's what Xbox needed, man. So, yeah.
Oak Villa: Okay, Rico?
Rico_Bambino: If it wasn't for that comment, I was about to be a PC head here shortly. I'm just saying, I mean, there was nothing else that was coming out that was like, okay, it's a one off from everything else that's being put out from every other console or gaming device. We have everything that everybody else has, but nothing more. Other consoles have a little bit more, you know, game titles than we have that's specifically for that device. We're running out. I mean, we was getting to a dead end here shortly. Now that comment, do I believe it? I want to believe it. But who knows? It's a 50-50, that's up in the air. I done been lied
Oak Villa: you
Rico_Bambino: to by human
Dr. Joe: A lot.
Rico_Bambino: beings in my lifetime, Yeah.
Oak Villa: your whole life.
Rico_Bambino: Pretty much. know, so. And look, going back to Stickman and Joe's point, I want to say it was a couple of podcasts ago, you got to show me better than you can just with the word salad, how O'Villa is saying. I mean, I'm for it. I think I believe her, to be honest. She hasn't shown me anything too different yet besides all of these layoffs, which is not really just her alone that's needing to make this thing happen. But Those layoffs concern me too. Because this is the future that we're setting up. Let's just say the Gears of War guys, the devs and everything, other games that's seeing what's happening to Gears of War creators. Are they really going to put that all into something like their blood, sweat and tears, knowing that that same thing can happen to them on their side? Or even people coming straight out of college, they hearing these horror stories. Are you really going to devote your life then to giving us with what we actually need and want at the same time? I mean, that's a question there.
Oak Villa: Okay. I got a question for y'all then with all this whole restructuring. What are the metrics that y'all think need to be hit or, or math, let me rephrase it. What are the metrics needed to be shown that a studio is successful so people don't have to sit there and worry that I might be let go after this game is, is released. Joe, you, you, you, the main brain when it comes to your metrics with your people. Cause I know you done fired a few people in your lifetime. You know what saying? But you engage some successful stories as well. So like, what are the metrics
Rico_Bambino: Hmm.
Oak Villa: when they talk about long term, they're in this for the long term to make sure that they make this, make Xbox successful. What are the metrics
Dr. Joe: I think
Oak Villa: needed?
Dr. Joe: right, yeah. I so to answer that question, it it goes back to a conversation that Stickman and Rico and I had when we were playing Marathon like we how we're always, you know, just chatting. But it's it's a matter of When you have staff, man, sta the camaraderie needs to be very high. In in any building that you're in. And I always say this, man, the leadership starts at the top. Like however whoever's driving
Rico_Bambino: Mm-hmm.
Dr. Joe: the bus needs to drive the bus and you need to emulate exactly what you're looking for from your team. So if if you want to be a person that leads with your people walking beside you, that's in my opinion, that's the type of leadership that we need now. We don't need somebody to sit at the top and say and make a decision without being on the ground floor with their people. I mean, that's just this, that's just where it starts as the foundation. I mean, I think from there you create a culture of the harder you work and produce, we reward you for your creativity. We war you, we reward you for your loyalty. That's what I would want around me. I don't want nobody working with me that's not gonna work as hard as I am, and that's not gonna be invested away.
Rico_Bambino: You're right.
Dr. Joe: Because, you know, for me, if you're not gonna give your all, then why are you even here? But and on the flip side of everything, too, when you're hiring these people, you need to be having those conversations then. What are your likes? What are your dislikes? What motivates you? How do you
Rico_Bambino: Mm.
Dr. Joe: like leadership? What type of leadership do you prefer? Can you handle tough criticism? And can you take it, eat it,
Rico_Bambino: Mm-hmm.
Dr. Joe: and come back to the drawing board and bring a better quality product? Like, you know, these are the conversations you gotta have before you hire anybody. This is what it is.
Oak Villa: All right, well, before anybody go, I'm gonna, I gotta nail you back down again though,
Dr. Joe: Okay.
Oak Villa: This is great to hear for your staff, what you need from them to have. But again,
Dr. Joe: Right.
Oak Villa: for your staff to feel comfortable in their job, what are the metrics that their games that they're creating needs to hit in order to be successful?
Dr. Joe: I mean, when it comes to innovation and creativity, man, I mean, and this is where Rick Rick and I have had conversations. AI just can't be the end all be all, man. It it just it can't be. I think as humans, our lived experiences allow us to tell a better story and to think outside of the box. Now, if you want a qu if you want a quality product, man, it takes time. And you've and you need a a real good team. a the real good development team to do that. Now, granted, in some cases, yeah, you you can utilize AI to expedite, but the metric that I'm looking for, I'm looking for people, man, that are bringing fresh ideas and not regurgitated content. If if we're gonna use regurgitated content, why do I need you at the table?
Rico_Bambino: you
Dr. Joe: And that's that and that's where Destiny, and for all y'all that that talked all that sh that shit to me, I ain't forgot. Just I'm just letting y'all know right now. I I I'm I'm I'm gonna address all of y'all now that I'm back. And yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. But
Oak Villa: We're going to give you some time to edit this thing before we log off.
Rico_Bambino: Thank
Dr. Joe: but but but to the point, Steve, you gotta have people on the development team, man, that are pushing creativity. And the metrics for success is determined by how many people play your game.
Oak Villa: That's where I'm initially going, like
Dr. Joe: Yeah.
Oak Villa: for Sticky Man Rico. Is it going to be determined by the amount of sales you have is going to be determined by the amount of downloads for game pass. If the game is going on game pass, like what, what are the specific metrics? Cause a lot of people want to know if I hit these certain metrics that you need, then I'm safe. But if the metrics are arbitrary, how do I know? Do I need to keep looking for another job? So I'm like
Rico_Bambino: Hmm.
Oak Villa: in that vein, cause we don't even know what they're going to change with, with game pass now. Cause that's up in the air.
Rico_Bambino: What?
Oak Villa: So I see you thinking about something Rico, go ahead.
Rico_Bambino: Yeah, so I mean, Marathon is a great example. When you don't have reoccurring players, then that means that the game have failed. know, re-occurring players is like the main thing that you're going to need because then your sales are going to come behind it. You can actually sell in-game stuff to keep the game afloat to create new ideas. So you're not running out of funds to be able to pay people and be like, okay, I got to lay some of my better guys off because their salary is almost capped out, they didn't hit a glass ceiling. You know, there's a lot of things that go into it when it do come to businesses. And when somebody is capped out, but then you don't need them at like a certain period of time, let's just say they don't need them for like the next six months, it's hard to pay somebody top dollar to sit around and do you know, to do nothing. So when they say layoffs, it's not like they're getting fired, they can always come back. or they can go to another studio and create some different ideas that they might've seen on games that they play because you can't sit here and tell me that these developers that are playing or that are developing their own game are not playing other video games. Don't you think that they may have ideas for those too? You know, so
Oak Villa: For sure.
Rico_Bambino: just because you got laid off here, that don't mean that you can't go over there with some fresh ideas. So you have a lot of talent out here, especially if you laid them off. Somebody is willing to pick that up.
Oak Villa: I'm gonna push back. I'm
Rico_Bambino: I think.
Oak Villa: gonna challenge you a little bit Rico and then this is for Stickman, Dr. Joe, you as well. Cause I know y'all gonna push back on me with this.
Rico_Bambino: Mm.
Oak Villa: But ever since COVID, like we saw that a lot of people during that time were bringing on a lot of staff cause everybody was home playing games. But now that everybody is back outside, they've been slowly letting people go. Cause like, you know, we over staffed. So I get your point Rico, when you say you can go somewhere else, but. There are a lot of studios and companies, like even PlayStation World, they're letting a lot of people go. So it's not necessarily a guarantee that when you get let go with a layoff that you can find another job. So that's my biggest thing where I guess we can jump straight into it with a Gears of War. E-Day, now that came out, that's hit a lot of records, even with Open Critic, Metacritic, they've been getting a lot
Dr. Joe: Okay.
Oak Villa: of good, a lot of high scores that it could be nominated for a game of the year. And even still, some of their staff are thinking about, might get let go. So stick, man, what are you thinking? Like, what, what kind of metrics would you want to see? Like if you were in their predicament to know that you would be safe.
Stickman: I mean. In order to know that I'm feeling safe, I want you to be completely transparent with me, right? I feel like that is literally the key to, you know, a lot of workplaces being successful and being, you know, complete epic failures. If I know exactly what I need to meet. So for example, right, she's like, I'm talking about Oshia here, but she's already going around, quote unquote, trimming the fat, if you will. I hate to use that because I know we talk about people losing their jobs, but in some cases, some studios have become so bloated with so many positions that sometimes too many positions or too many hands in the kitchen slows you down. you know, so if that's
Rico_Bambino: Hmm.
Stickman: the case and I understand, well, I guess I get it. guess I understand it. Do I like it? No, but here we are. Right. But I feel like let's just say, for example, if we're talking transparency, which is I feel like is exactly what they need. Let's just say if my studio, my studio, my budget, let's just say my budget is 200 million, right? It cost me 100 million to get this game out. And then you got to account for salaries, of course, because you want everybody in the studio to get paid. Let me know off gate, like, hey, we have enough to pay everyone's salaries for the next 12 months or for the next 36 months or however long, depending on the game, right? But put stipulations into it to say like, hey, but if your game sells XXX by this date, then of course we'll keep on extending that timeline. You know what mean? Like make people feel comfortable knowing exactly when and where they can account for their next paycheck because it's the uncertainty that creates like anxiety and you know, I don't know, irritability, you know, it creates people giving up on it. You know, it's like if you
Rico_Bambino: Yeah.
Stickman: tell me straight up, hey, we'll give you into this date to make this much money. If that's how we want to do it, right? Because I know know corporations speaking dollars, then good. Let me know up front. But don't leave me wondering when my next paycheck is going to come after this date, you know? And then let's just say if I meet that sales goal, that means I'm guaranteed another paycheck for six more months or eight more months. You know, I let my game success speak for my paycheck. Don't let we only allotted for for you guys to the game out and then the game is out,
Dr. Joe: Yeah.
Stickman: y'all are gone. Like make me feel safe and I feel like that will improve company morale of course because people know that hey like. If I really want to keep, if I want to stay here, I'm going to put out a good game that people love and I'm going to give my all. But at the end of the day, if I feel like I'm going to be fired next week, if I can send a few emails now to get that software up there, that patch out before the game releases. All right. I'm going to be here 12 more months. I want my game to sell. I'm going to be here another two, three years. I want my game to sell. But if I know I'm going be fired next week, I'm going to hit delete on that email. I'm going to delete that patch. You know what mean? And then the game will receive. You feel
Rico_Bambino: Okay.
Stickman: me? The game is received is going to be in a much worse state. because the people involved with it didn't care, you know?
Rico_Bambino: Yeah.
Stickman: Like give them some certainty, man. Say like, hey, if you make a good game and it sells, we're gonna keep you around. Tell me that update so that I'll be like, you know, more motivated to keep it going or kind of, you know, to work, I don't know, work more efficiently to kind of make sure I get things done on time and have everything in place. Because if not, I ain't gonna care, man.
Rico_Bambino: Yeah, can I?
Oak Villa: All right. To that point, Rico and Joe, we know that they're going to restructure game pass. And we know when, when Phil Spencer was there, when they, when they were asked him, how do you judge the success of games on game pass? They didn't have an answer. So to stick man's point, knowing if your game sale this much, this much, what about the games that's on game pass?
Rico_Bambino: All right. Well, Steve, hold on real quick. So I would like to go back to the comment that you made about when COVID hit, everybody's indoors, then it's kind of over with and everybody's back outside. There was like a YouTube short or maybe like a statistic or something that where did they have pictures? So they had your black and white pictures from like 1950 or 1960. And then they went each and every decade and show the same neighborhood and how many kids are now playing outside. The neighborhoods used to be flooded outside with kids back up in the day, right? Nowadays, you don't see a kid riding a bicycle or nothing. So where is everybody at? They're in the house. Guess what they're probably doing? Playing a game. That's the reason why I don't see why each platform is not taking the gaming industry a lot more seriously because this is their time to be able to tackle everybody's, let's just say money or get everybody's engagement into gaming. Cause I don't know. what else kids will be doing besides being on a tablet playing a game, having their own system playing a game, because nobody's outside like that. You know what I mean? I kind of like to think differently and outside of the box instead of, okay, you know, this is just what we're talking about. Let's just, you know, throw something out there. So.
Oak Villa: Right. No, no, that's a good point. guess I'll
Dr. Joe: Okay.
Oak Villa: I'm just going to say this then then Joe, you can go and give your your thoughts in between. There are a lot of kids not going outside playing games for for sure. I guess my thing is. What is being greenlit in terms of the studios to produce what games? Because we do know there are games that Xbox has canceled. They were they were being made the same thing with PlayStation. Nintendo, like they all do it. But at some point, even the kids, they're not the ones paying for the games. It's their parents, you know. So you only have a certain amount of revenue you can anticipate coming in. So I guess that's why they're not hiring as many people. So a lot of people can be playing games, but they're not going to hire that many people if they don't have that revenue coming in. That's that would be my pushback to you, Rico Joe. What do you think?
Dr. Joe: I think I think if you're looking at business right, and and I'm just speaking to this, you know, from from my role and what I do, I think if you're not standing firm on your strategic plan of how you're trying to see this laid out and not providing great fiscal management and forecasting where that budget is gonna go and looking at your projections and see what you're bringing in, then I think ultimately Is it it falls on top leadership? And that's why I say like the CEO and the CFO have to be the tightest people in that room. And what I mean by tight is they have to communicate daily. They need to be talking through what success looks like. And we can run all of the trends, we can do all of the research. I agree with Rico. There are not a lot of kids outside that are playing unless they're playing a sport, right? Or they got practice. But outside of that, I mean, even here in the neighborhood that I live in, man, it's not a lot of kids outside running around. So that that's just one portion of the pot, right? But I've got to put it, I've got to put it back on leadership, bro. Because let's say you see that you have seen all of this growth, right? Budget-wise. Now you want to start handing out bonuses and you want to start at the top and work your way down, right? Instead of taking a hard look and say, okay, this is where we are in terms of our projections. Before we do this and say, hey, we're gonna let this money go, we need to take a moment and look at what is the next level of success and metric that we need to hit so that we don't have to let people go. But people are making
Rico_Bambino: But dude.
Dr. Joe: those decisions, those decisions right now in the moment. And that's not good. That's not good fiscal management. So for me, my metric is we've got to look at fiscal management first. We've got to get that under control. And Be on, and I love the way Stickman said this. You have to be very transparent with your people. You've got
Rico_Bambino: Mm-hmm.
Dr. Joe: to say, hey, this is currently where we are. The survivability for our game looks really great right now. These are our projections. So this is how we're going to move. But if we anticipate a fall-off, there are tell them up front: hey, positions will have to be cut. Can we tell you which positions as of right now? No, we can't. But we just want you to keep in mind. We're doing really great right now. But what success looks like in the future, we can't predict that. But this is what we have to go off of right now. So when I look at, so another metric I would look at in terms of Game Pass, I will look at how many downloads you have per game that's on Game Pass. And I would be clear about this. If if this game has minimal downloads, it's gotta go. It can't stay in a catalog just for nostalgia. Maybe you can keep it in the a database of games that you have. But I think you have to look at that as well. You got to look at player engagement and downloads from progression of everything that's going in Game Pass. Because for me, what is the point of having a cloud if you're not monitoring what games are being downloaded the most? What games are being utilized?
Rico_Bambino: Yeah.
Dr. Joe: You know, you know, for him to say back in the day, we don't know, why don't you know? You should know. I would know what I would want to look at. Like you just created this without any vision? What was the vision? we just want people to play games in here, to have access to games. It has to be more, more strategically thought through than that. Because because you just don't want to waste space in my mind. Like in my mind, my goal for Game Pass would be would be this. We're gonna put the best games that we can afford to put up there that we know for a fact that our community wants to see. And then we measure that based on downloads. And if somebody got a problem with that, we can show the data. We can put a little email together and just say, hey, listen, these are the minimal downloads. It doesn't read our threshold. We've got to pull it off. We've got to throw another game in there because it's not meeting our
Rico_Bambino: Thank
Dr. Joe: needs and our metrics.
Oak Villa: But, but just, just want to ask a quick question just to clarify, cause I know people might have come for you when you said we got to put our best games. You're not talking about like, like the AAA titles that are going to generate a lot of money. Okay.
Dr. Joe: No, no, that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the nostalgia games that the community request and want to play. Because, like how Stickman eloquently put it a couple weeks ago, man, if you've no, I if if I know I have access to a game that I have not played in ages, but if you put it on Game Pass, like, for example, like when they put 007 up there, man, I quickly went and down re-downloaded
Rico_Bambino: Mmm.
Dr. Joe: that, bro. That was just a nostalgia. I went and played it. Man, I remember y'all remember beating the time frames of the getting the cheats. Like that for me, that was just so fun. And then, man, bro, listen, great game. Great game.
Rico_Bambino: Yeah.
Stickman: Yeah. Gold and not level 07. Yeah. Yeah.
Dr. Joe: My favorite game ever than my our brother Nick gave us, D favorite game. So that's what I'm saying. Like titles like that, man, listen. And and what you could do, you could do a feature every month. Like a game that was real hot, a hot ticket selling item back in the day. You can bring that in ha and s and release it back on Game Pass and say, hey, listen, just for the nostalgia, we're gonna release like a hot tick high like every month, just a different game. Or every three months. I don't know. Yeah, see where it goes from there.
Rico_Bambino: And see where it goes and whether it's going to stay there or not. I agree.
Dr. Joe: But that's that's that's my thought. But no, I'm not saying put the triple A games up there, Steve, because those are our moneymakers. We have to have those. Yeah. Yeah.
Stickman: We got to survive, bro. We got to eat.
Oak Villa: All right, Rico, I want you to think about it in this perspective, because you're over, you supervised three different groups of people, right? If your guys came to ask you like, what are the things that I can do to make sure that I'm not going to be let go? Cause we don't know when our next job is coming, but you know, I'm a hard worker. Like let's transition that to the gaming side, right?
Rico_Bambino: Mm.
Oak Villa: What kind of metrics would you want to put up? Like if you're in leadership for them to know, like I'm good. Things might be a little rough right now, but I do my work. I know I'm not being let go.
Rico_Bambino: I know I'm gonna probably catch a little flack if my job is watching this.
Dr. Joe: Be careful. Be careful. Be politically correct when yeah, yeah.
Rico_Bambino: I, yeah, I know I need to, I need to kind of thread it lightly. Yeah.
Oak Villa: Just game aside, don't mention them at work, your job.
Rico_Bambino: Yeah, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, but I'm just saying how I operate. So I'm not trying
Oak Villa: Yeah, yeah.
Rico_Bambino: to mix both of them, but how I operate is I'm very transparent with my guys. So if I find something out, I'll let the guys know. don't, I don't like to be the one that's in the know. And then my guys be like, well, how did he not know? And he's our leader, but then we got to hear from over here. So that kind
Dr. Joe: Agreed. Agreed.
Rico_Bambino: of puts me in a sticky situation because sometimes that think like when things are being talked about, especially layoffs, they don't want you to tell your guys that businesses want to give the workers a two day notice, but they want the workers to put in a two weeks notice, which is not fair at all. You know, but that's just the way the businesses
Dr. Joe: I like how he said that.
Rico_Bambino: have, you know, been operating for the past couple of decades. And it used to not be like that. So you have to be careful when you are talking about layoffs and when you are talking about the decisions that the company is going to the people that's actually making it happen. They are always the last to know whether we feel like it is a good time to tell them or not as a business standpoint, I can kind of get where they're coming from, but I do think it's wrong. You know, I think that everybody should be treated fairly. And you know what? Uphold management is usually the first to get the boot. I've been there, you know. Once they feel like that, they want to, you know, shave the fat as stick man was saying, yeah, they start with the top because they're going to still need the little guys at the bottom. So, so to say, I mean, everybody's important, but they're going to be like, well, you know, we got to keep the little guys around because they're the ones that's making this business, you know, revolve and upper management. They're making all of this money and we got to see a way that we can kind of shave that fat and still operate, you know? So. man, I mean, that's a tough one Steve as far as gaming goes, brother. I don't think that they're gonna let anybody know. Everybody's gonna be walking on thin ice around here and stuff just not gonna get done. Because everybody gonna be like, well, I'm next.
Dr. Joe: And and Steve, listen, real quick to to Rico's point, and Sean, I know you probably seen this. Oracle sent an email out, bro, at six thirty AM in the morning to let their employees know that they would be in
Oak Villa: Damn!
Rico_Bambino: Yep. So why I said it, it's a day notice.
Dr. Joe: 6 30, not 8 a.m., 6 30 a.m., Steve. So that's what I'm saying, man. Like, it's and and that's a software company. So, you know, for me, I'm just like, man, at the end of the day, I mean, respectfully, your loyalty, you know, to an organization can sometimes be tainted when people do stuff like that.
Rico_Bambino: you
Dr. Joe: You know what I mean? Like that, that that's where, but again, had you had the conversation. Right. And and think about it, this is what I do know. Upper management, and we all in supervisor roles, so we know this, upper management makes decisions weeks out, trust me, because they see it coming.
Oak Villa: yeah, for sure.
Dr. Joe: You know, and listen, man, I there was a a decision that I had to make that was very unpopular with my team, bro. But I told them, I said the decision had to be made because fiscally I was thinking about where we were gonna be in the next six months. I made the decision, I don't regret it. Did it impact some people? Yes, it did. But let me just tell you this, I told them up front what I was doing and why I was doing it. Fast forward to where we are now, it was the best decision we could have ever made because it reset the books to allow us to do things that we needed to do now without letting people go. So I think to I think we're all speaking the same language here, man. Transparency is the number one metric that we would be looking for.
Stickman: Mm-hmm.
Dr. Joe: What about you, Steve? Let me ask you, what what metric are you looking for? Since you sitting over there all smug and stuff with your glasses on?
Oak Villa: Honestly, my whole thing about it is... However, they're going to restructure game pass. They need to let people know upfront as soon as what, as soon as what that change is, because they Xbox one thing that I don't like, they did tell people they want you to, they wanted some studios to create games just to go on a game pass and knowing that, that they didn't have a way to check if it's successful or not for the, for the studios. Like is, am I, my opinion is just wrong. Like, cause people don't
Dr. Joe: Praising.
Oak Villa: know if they're successful. They don't know if they've done a good job. They just know they created a game and it was designed specifically to go to game paths, knowing that it's not going to be going. It's not going to have a, like a AAA effect where people just go out and buy the game. It's just up there for people to play. And if you don't know if you've done a good job by the metrics or the standards that the upper management has set, then how do you know? So I guess my thing is. They, whatever those metrics is, they can look into a game pass. They need to look at every single one of those and determine which ones make a game successful. Like you said, Joe, if the game doesn't hit these markers, then there's no more updates for the game. Did you just let it sit on game pass? And it is what it is. Whereas if a game has hit these markers, what can we do to build upon that game to give these people that are playing a game more, more content, because obviously they, they want their planet. They like it. Give them more content to make some extra revenue. Now for the AAA games, my thing is just all about sales. If you hit
Dr. Joe: yeah. One hundred percent.
Oak Villa: this number of sales, if people is playing it on, I know a lot of people like to go to steam and look at the numbers. to me, I mean, it's a good way of looking at how healthy a game is, but also you're not looking at the numbers of the consoles either.
Rico_Bambino: Right.
Oak Villa: so my thing is if, if a lot of people are playing the game and you're making revenue, find ways to make extra content. If you can, if a game is really successful, be strategic, but you know, bring more people on, hire more people to devote their attention to certain content and distribute people out that way. That's my thing. I love what y'all said. cause that's how I am with my team. I'm, I tell them a lot of things is going on, but a lot of times I get a lot of flat because I don't tell other teams when I know things are going on when they're not getting told. I'm like, I'm not I'm not your boss. I can't tell you things is going on. So it
Rico_Bambino: Mm-hmm.
Oak Villa: makes things uncomfortable. But in my opinion, that's what I would say.
Rico_Bambino: I mean, but how do we put a time frame on this? Like, how do we put a time frame on if a game is successful or not? And I can get it like within the first week, you might be like, yo, GTA six is blowing everything out the water. I mean, of course the game has been laying in production for the past decade and everybody known about this. So it's the hype. It's the build up to it, you know, but what if you got another game that we never heard of that's coming out, but then you'd be like, that looks really interesting. But then it might not hit those numbers in the first week or whatever. But later on it may.
Dr. Joe: Rick, that is a great, great question, bro.
Oak Villa: That's a good question.
Dr. Joe: That is. And so let me let me answer that real quick. I think triple A titles, Rick, I'm just you, and and we were talking about this last night, you and I, about Modern Warfare 4, right?
Rico_Bambino: Mm-hmm.
Dr. Joe: I think you look at what Modern Warfare 3 did, and that's your that's your ben that's your benchmark. We we we have to increase at least by 5%. Like or or or or 3%. Whatever however you want to do with that, right? But I think for your newly created games, right? I think you I think in the testing phase, you test it with a bunch of gamers, right? First to see what kind of feedback that you get. And then once that, I mean, then you make an educated guess of where you think you're laying. Now, if you're under, okay, right? Go back to the board. Can you do a little bit more marketing and get the push? But if you if you if you're way over, man, you you know you really got something. So now
Rico_Bambino: Wow.
Dr. Joe: equally the marketing is important in that space. But I think that's where like when when a as business analyst you have to take a very hard look at like a cr a first created game versus the next version of the game that you're playing. Like cause those are two different titles. Call of Duty gonna sell itself, whether it's black ops or modern modern warfare. But me personally, like ri I love modern warfare. I I'm not a big fan of black ops and that's okay. It is what it is. Teach your own. And and I'm not You know, shooting it down or whatever. I just I've always loved dub, bro. I've always loved that. Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
Rico_Bambino: It's a preference, know, everybody has that.
Dr. Joe: But Stickman, what you think? Yeah.
Oak Villa: If I could just add on and stick me, I want to get your opinion as well. If I could add on to what you just said, Joe, this, would say it also needs to lead into what Rico said a few weeks back is they think they need to change the market around game passing and games they put on.
Dr. Joe: facts. One hundred percent. Yeah.
Oak Villa: Like if, if you want to give them a metric as well that they take hit to know if they can be successful, like prop them up so they can have as much positivity about this game coming out. So people actually have a chance. to know if they, if they did something good with a game or not. Like
Dr. Joe: Right.
Oak Villa: they have to change the marketing.
Rico_Bambino: Hey, and Steve, listen, my wife don't even game. And as Joe, she came up here when we were playing, I think it was division. She said, hey, babe, you seen a new Call of Duty coming out? I said, what Call of Duty? I'm thinking that
Dr. Joe: Facts. She did.
Rico_Bambino: she's just talking, right?
Oak Villa: Right.
Rico_Bambino: What Call of Duty? She said, the new one that's coming out. I said, and then I whispered to Joe, said, Joe, is there a new one coming out? Brother, I don't know nothing about it. And he said, yeah, man, you know, the new Modern Warfare. I said, I didn't even know. You know what I'm saying? Because it ain't been nowhere on my feed and I have a gaming feed. As soon as I pull up Google, it shows me a lot of stuff that's happening with the game industry, stock market in the world. You know, I have like the recommendations of tabs and stuff that just pop up on Google, but I've never seen the new Call of Duty coming out. The marketing, guess. I don't know if it's there and I don't know if I just haven't seen it, but go back to your point. Yeah. The marketing need to be a little bit more stronger with these AAA games and all that good stuff.
Oak Villa: Before we move on to next time, just want to get stick man. What do you think? Is there anything that we've missed or what are you thinking?
Stickman: I ain't gonna say that we missed anything. think, you you took the words out of my mouth with your last statement there about kind of comparing this situation to just the awareness of what's currently on Game Pass. You know, it's like there's, there are more ways than ever right now to reach out to your customers or your potential customers or to advertise or to have a stream or to get on Twitch or YouTube or TikTok or whatever. You know what I mean? Like there's so many ways to get engagement from your community. You can have open betas, you can have test servers. You know what saying? There are so many things you can do prior to your game arriving just to gauge the hype around it. Let's just say for example, mean if collectively if I'm on four different, you know different social media platforms And I got 300,000 engagements, whether it's likes, comments, people subscribing, following the game, whatever. You got a rough idea. Okay, maybe a third, maybe a fourth, maybe a fifth. You might have an idea on how many sales you can expect. You know what I mean? So I mean, there are so many metrics you can use and so many different test beds you have to get engagement from your community. People just need to reach out and use them. You know, because I can guarantee you, there are probably hundreds of games on Game Pass and I might even be undershooting it, right? But if you're gonna ask me would I rather have 100 games that I'd never played, or 50 games that I might play, I'll take the 50, you know what I'm saying? So,
Rico_Bambino: Yeah.
Stickman: I mean, I think we've all said the same thing just in different ways, you know what saying? And it's just, yeah, I'm right there with y'all. I think there's so much untapped potential. Like, reach out to me, let me know. When I log onto my Xbox, what if I want to opt me in? Let me do that so I can get updates on what's being added to Game Pass. And also, just like Netflix, right? There's a certain tab you go to that says recently leaving or leaving Netflix soon, leaving soon. Let me know what games are about to be taken away from Game Pass. So if I want to play them real quick. I can play them. And if I like them, cool. I might even buy it once it leaves Game Pass. Like, help me help the developers and help you make more money. You know? Just let me know. Keep me in the loop. I feel like there's so much going on behind the scenes that I'm not even aware of. Like, there are a lot of good games I'm sure we have missed out on, probably on Game Pass and may now not ever hear of because they weren't deemed successful enough. by whatever metric Xbox is using, if they're using it at all. yeah, just tap into your community base, man. Let us know, keep us
Oak Villa: Yeah.
Stickman: informed, keep us in the loop. And I mean, and we'll be happy to spend our money. Because if something
Rico_Bambino: Yeah.
Stickman: catches on and we like it, a lot of people fall for the hype,
Rico_Bambino: We in a-
Stickman: right? Like even if a game gives me 100 hours of hype, I mean, 100 hours of play time, but I only play it for two months, that's fine. I mean, I got $200 or $100 of play time out of it, bro. I spent more than that, like price per dollar. That's better than going to the movies. Two people going to the movies now for two hours is what, $50 if you want to get snacks, $60, $70?
Dr. Joe: the at the bare minimum fifty dollars.
Stickman: Yeah, you know, but I got a hundred or two hundred hours out of it for that 40 that was for any games We're talking 30 40 50 60 70 dollars whatever for the triple a but yeah If I get a hundred hours of playtime 200 hours, I mean I'm not complaining price for dollar That's all right for me if I had a good time with the boys made some good memories out of it And guess what? I'm gonna take that and I'm gonna use what I've learned and how we played in the phone We had I'm gonna apply that to the next game to come. That's how you keep gamers engaged Right now they're just making decisions and not talking to us about it. So we never know what's going on. So we just feel more disconnected than ever from the console that we've been playing on for the last 20 years, know, 25 years.
Rico_Bambino: Yeah, that was real.
Stickman: So, but yeah, but personally, I feel like we all kind of spilled a different piece, but I mean, we all in the same vein, man. We want to see Xbox win. I want to see gaming as a whole win. So, I mean, them making it more accessible is awesome, but just reach out, man. Talk to me, you know, just let me know. Let me know that you're still thinking about me sometimes, you know what I'm saying?
Oak Villa: Hahaha
Rico_Bambino: Mm-hmm.
Stickman: Yeah, that's all,
Oak Villa: Matter of fact,
Stickman: though.
Oak Villa: I do got one last thing to add. Y'all let me know what y'all think about this. When you were speaking, Stick Man,
Stickman: Yeah.
Oak Villa: I just thought a lot of times games is coming out. They'll reach out to like the higher tiered influencers that I guess per se that you would say, like on Twitch and YouTube to get them to stream the game, to get more people to want to buy it. They could also for game paths, like reach out to like the mid tier streamers. I mean, maybe have like a hundred people watching them or something that could help as well. Instead
Rico_Bambino: Yeah.
Oak Villa: of just cause a lot of the, in my opinion, I don't know if this is true. This is just how I feel that a lot of the higher tier gamers, quote unquote, just have like thousands of people watching them. may not waste their time on a, a regular game pass game compared to they can play like the triple, the triple A title games.
Rico_Bambino: That's real.
Stickman: Yeah, it's like, it's like if you don't have confidence in your own product, why should I, you know, and that's just what
Rico_Bambino: you
Stickman: it sounds like. If you're going to give your code out to 20 people, if you're giving it out to 40 people instead of 20, ain't gonna make a break whether your studio closes their doors or not, you know? So yeah, I'm with you. I like that.
Oak Villa: All right. Well, if y'all agree, or if you disagree with anything that was said, let us know in the comments. Can I know Dr Joe gonna let you know.
Rico_Bambino: hey, and did you want him to say anything or you want to? okay.
Oak Villa: no, we ain't done yet, but we won't let that just see some of the end. But for our last topic though, is I wanted to bring this up because I thought this was pretty interesting and just wanting like, if something like this could be implemented and bring to Xbox or all the other places as well. But Steam is doing, their discount system is changing. to boost like discoverability for more games. So basically it said that the Steam development team has been experimenting with discounts over the past few months to match the right games with the right buyers. They've experimented, involved replacing some curated sections with dynamic and personalized recommendations. As a result, the team discovered that they could show 10 times more games to buyers in a single day, which then could change also contributed to an increase in pages visit, wishlist, and items added to carts.
Dr. Joe: Can't let me I gotta tell let
Oak Villa: M.I.P.
Dr. Joe: me yeah, yeah.
Oak Villa: Go ahead, I think you already know where I was going. Go ahead, Joe.
Dr. Joe: Man, listen, man, listen. What is so beautiful about this, in my opinion, was all four of us were just talking about this. And we just said that people need that that game, we and we were specifically talking about Xbox, but but it was amazing to see that Steam is actually doing it. We said, man, bro, bring the discounts. Cause I'm telling you, and look, I guarantee you, by them doing those discounts, bro, they have seen a Pethera of people by some games. I know. You
Oak Villa: I'm one of them.
Dr. Joe: and Sean both. Y'all jumped on some stuff, man. so I mean, and Steve, listen, bro. This is what it takes. When you really believe in what you're doing, this is what it takes. You gotta do this. You you have to put yourself out there. It may be a little uncomfortable, but man, listen, you talking about a discount to get you where you need to be fiscally. I'm all, I'm all for it.
Rico_Bambino: Mm-hmm.
Dr. Joe: 'Cause you're making the investment.
Stickman: I mean, I don't know.
Rico_Bambino: And sometimes you go, it's pretty sick, man.
Stickman: I was just gonna say bro like and Steam does this so many times and it's guiding me I'm ashamed to say I'm not even gonna say how many games I got in my Steam library right now
Rico_Bambino: you.
Stickman: but at the same time though bro I look at it like this you don't know how many times I bought like let's just say if it's like a you know a continuation or a trilogy right like the first two games might be on sale $1.3 $1.5 and then the third game might be $25 or $30 or full price might even be $50 or $60 right you don't know how many times I played I'll buy the first one the first two for like $8 total right I played through the first two and I'm like I ain't gonna lie bro like I kind of want to finish it off now you know what mean and then guess what you know I'm gonna do
Oak Villa: Right?
Rico_Bambino: Yeah.
Stickman: I'm gonna drop that 59.99 6999 and get that third one right to complete the trilogy I'm gonna play through all three of them so yeah I mean giving me that discount is like it's like saying like you know hey taste this bro give you a little taste test let me see how you like it how you feel and then if I love it bro I'm gonna spend that money you know and that's way more money than you ever would have got out of me by not discounting your game in the first place
Oak Villa: Is that?
Stickman: So I mean, some developers, you know. I think they're scared to take their leap too, but at the same time, mean, you if you're already on number three, just, just allow me to get a piece of the pie first. You got to get a whole thing away for free. Just let me get in there and steam. think it's very good about that. one thing I also like about steam as well too, is that they hold like quarterly sales. So there's like three, maybe four huge sales every year. and I mean, I, you you can almost, you know, time the dates with the change of the seasons. You know I mean? Like now we're going into the fall, we're going into October of course, and they're going to have that sale. Well, that's box. I mean, I had to. console all my life pretty much, bro. I couldn't tell you when they sales off, you know what I'm saying? It seems random
Rico_Bambino: Thank
Stickman: for me where Steam is it's imprinted like I know because that's just the way they do it. So, I mean, there's a lot that Steam is doing right there, not just Xbox, but I feel like any other gaming company can learn from. But I love it though. I like it.
Oak Villa: Rico?
Rico_Bambino: I mean, agree, like if so, me personally, which I want to start getting into, cause I feel like I have a little bit more time now since I'm not as stressed with my job for getting into this newer position that I'm in now, that I have a little bit more time to actually indulge in the different games that I never heard of before. And so if you're telling me that games are going to be discounted or anything is discounted. As we speak at this moment, mean, look, gas is $4 a gallon for regular. So you can just imagine I got to put 93 in my joint and that
Dr. Joe: Ninety three. That's what he pissed it.
Stickman: you
Rico_Bambino: that's going to make me want to stay home and actually not rip and run the streets if I don't have to. You know what I'm saying? So I can take that $5 that I would have spent in a gallon of gas is going to take me nowhere and actually indulge in some of these discounted games and enjoy myself. You know, so.
Oak Villa: Mm-hmm.
Rico_Bambino: I mean, to me it works. And then two, if they felt that something was about to derail with steam or they didn't see the revenue sales that they thought that it was going to hit, then yeah, you have to do something different. You know? So I like it, to be honest.
Stickman: And I think to correct me if I'm wrong here, Steve, I know you probably want to ask them as well, Joe, but from what I was reading through that article as well, I think it was from Inside Game. But I think it kind of like it curtails what you see based on what you play or what it feels like you might be interested in. So for example, let's just say if you log into, I don't know, your Steam homepage, right? And right at the top, you'll see one certain or one highly popular game that's always right there at the top. And you can kind of scroll through and see a few different others. I think what it's saying is based on maybe the time of day, the type of games you play, know, X, Y, it kind of looks at different statistics based on your Steam profile, and it will update and automate and curate what you see based on what you like to get you more engaged with games that you maybe have never even heard of. And I feel like, I mean, that's just a win for the developers, right? I mean, the publishers, everybody, it's like, I trust you because you're promoting my product from within, whereas I don't see that with Xbox or Xbox GamePay.
Rico_Bambino: Thank
Stickman: And I'm not, you know, I don't want to turn this into like a, you know, a shoot Xbox and get there or whatever. But I mean, I just don't, I don't see the same thing. When I log into my Xbox, I see that same little icon. It says Xbox store, Microsoft store that I click on it. And every time I click on it, even though I update it every time it asks me to update. I don't know why, but every single time asked me to update it. I go to the store. I might see one or two new different games or whatever, but other than that, it's just kind of like run them to meal stuff, you know? It don't say recommended for you. We think you might like. I think right now at the very top, if you log in, you can probably see Call of Duty and then you'll probably see Grand Theft Auto. outside of that, I mean, I don't really feel like I'm getting anything kind of curtailed to me. So the way that Steam is going about it, man, I think is dope.
Dr. Joe: Yo, Sean, that's a great point, man. And and I think the fact how they have created that algorithm to do that, it does I'm Xbox, I mean, any platform could do that right now. They they they have the capabilities and the functionality, but do they want to? Because that's gonna take time to invest. But if you really care about the gamers the way you say you do, Asher, I would just tell y'all to put that on y'all radar to create if y'all don't already have that. Because I think that's the what that is the way. I there's nothing more satisfying than for me to turn on my Xbox. Hey, we've been watching what you plan. Here's some recommendation titles that we see based on what you've downloaded. That right there
Oak Villa: That'd be great.
Dr. Joe: tells me everything that I need to know. You actually care about what I got going on.
Rico_Bambino: Mm-hmm.
Stickman: Hey, and look, if I get that, you know what we're going to do, right? We're going say, hey, yo, hey, say, hey, Rico, hey, Joe, hey, y'all seen this? Y'all want to try this?
Oak Villa: Exactly, yep.
Stickman: And then instead of you getting one sale, you're going to mess around and get four, five, six, whatever, you know? I mean, that's per person. I mean, on a per group basis.
Oak Villa: Word of mouth, that's the best way.
Stickman: Yeah.
Rico_Bambino: That's
Oak Villa: All right. Well, hopefully some things that are said, our girls watching with Joe's girl rather hope she's watching.
Rico_Bambino: I'll job with him.
Oak Villa: But again,
Stickman: you
Oak Villa: if you agree with anything that we said or disagree, let us know in the comments. before we leave here today,
Rico_Bambino: You
Oak Villa: go, got Joe got to give some words of wisdom to some people that were. leave us some comments for them regarding to Destiny coming back or not coming back. So Joe, the floor is yours.
Dr. Joe: So I want to start off by saying this. For all of y'all that got in the comments coming at me, I want to be very, very clear when I say this. I'm not backing down from anything that I said. I stand full on it. And for those of y'all that just looked at a clip and then look at the whole clip, shame on you. Because you would know I am a full D1 player, day one. I'm not somebody that just played marathon just for the sake of playing it. I played Marathon because there was nothing else to do on Destiny 2. So I want to be clear when I say that. And for those of you all that listen to these fake promises from above about Destiny 2, right? They're already trying to walk back what they said. If y'all haven't been looking at it.
Rico_Bambino: You
Dr. Joe: They're already trying to walk it back. So again, like y'all coming to me for speaking not my truth, but what is the truth, because all we have to go off on is what has been presented in the past. False promises being taken advantage of and not giving y'all what y'all wanted. And that and that includes me. Because I can guarantee y'all I got more hours on the game than y'all. That is a fact. I I've
Rico_Bambino: yeah. Fact.
Dr. Joe: been heavy on Destiny 2 and D1.
Rico_Bambino: Hey, I think that some dude up there said you just mad because you suck at the game or something like that. I think I've seen a comment
Stickman: .
Rico_Bambino: and I was like, hold on there. You must not know this guy.
Dr. Joe: Yeah. Yeah, bro. And trust me,
Oak Villa: You
Dr. Joe: man. I I am a great Destiny 2 player. I
Rico_Bambino: Yeah you are.
Dr. Joe: am a great teammate. And I will also
Rico_Bambino: Thanks.
Dr. Joe: say this: I was not good at trials at first. I was not. But Oak Villa told me to go play Call of Duty, get my skills up, and Rico can attest. When I came back, I was a very different player. I
Rico_Bambino: Yeah, he was.
Dr. Joe: took time to learn the game. And you know, and and look, listen, man. Everybody ain't a great PvP player. They're just not. You win some, you lose some. It's just what it is. But for all of y'all that got all this to say, guess what y'all are still not doing? Y'all don't have Destiny 3. And guess what? Y'all probably aren't
Rico_Bambino: Is that?
Dr. Joe: playing Destiny 2. So what y'all
Rico_Bambino: Facts.
Dr. Joe: complaining about, though? I'ma sit over here on my throne and enjoy what I got going on right now. Because y'all just mad because they ain't gave y'all what y'all want. And why are y'all so happy about content that you paid for that they're giving back to you all? That is the dumbest thing
Rico_Bambino: I'm very excited.
Dr. Joe: I've ever heard of in my life. You are happy that they're unvaulting not everything, by the way, because they walked that back too. They're not unvaulting everything. It's only some things that they're unvaulting. But we've already paid for. And I'm gonna be real with you. I'm a little pissed off that you're giving me something that I've already paid for. And on top of that, the people now that have never played it get it for free. I don't think that's fair in my
Rico_Bambino: Mm. Mm-mm.
Dr. Joe: eyes. I think if you have paid for it, you should it should be gifted back. And if you haven't paid for it, you should pay for it. Cause where's the, I mean, where is the fairness in that?
Oak Villa: Thank
Dr. Joe: But y'all too stupid to think through any of that. That that's what that is. And y'all can come for me all you want. I got I I got time. I got time. Y'all just talking
Oak Villa: You
Dr. Joe: to be talking, bro. Y'all make no sense whatsoever. And I was not saying that Marathon in any way is a better game than Destiny 2. It's all we have to play right now because ain't nobody really playing Destiny 2 like that. It's just what it is. But I digress. Hey, look, man, at the end of the day, I'm a D1 head for Destiny. And that ain't gonna change. And I love the game. But what I let me tell you what I don't love, being taken advantage of. I don't think any of us love that. And we've all been taken advantage of. So instead of getting your panties in a bunch, maybe you should come on this side of the table, be a grown-up and say, hey, we're not accepting this anymore. But until then, y'all keep living in y'all misery and all your bullshit.
Rico_Bambino: The same regurgitated material too, like season after season. That's why I got off. I used to play it a lot too.
Dr. Joe: Like, who's happy about that? Like, for real. You're happy about stuff that you've already played and paid for that they're giving it back to you.
Rico_Bambino: You
Dr. Joe: What kind of sense does that make? God knows, y'all are stupid. I mean, it's just what it is.
Rico_Bambino: What?
Dr. Joe: Yo, Laura. Ain't no other way to say
Oak Villa: you
Dr. Joe: it, bro. Y'all are stupid. It's just what it is. I ain't gonna
Rico_Bambino: Hey,
Dr. Joe: get happy about something I've already paid for.
Rico_Bambino: Hey, I can just picture like some dude with a coffee mug with his feet kicked up on a desk in his office and he copied and pasted. He said, yeah, I'm gonna kill him with this on this next season watch. Bro, that's how I feel.
Dr. Joe: Yeah.
Stickman: you
Dr. Joe: Bro, man, but Bungie ought to be ashamed of themselves, bro. I stand on that. They ought to be ashamed of themselves, bro. For real. It is what it is. I ain't never seen people get happy about stuff they've already paid for that they're being gifted back to them. Like, what? That's like saying,
Oak Villa: You
Dr. Joe: bro, I bought groceries, right? And after I bought the groceries, they took them away from me and then they gave them back to me. And I'm happy again. What you happy about?
Oak Villa: Years later. Years
Rico_Bambino: Even happier than
Oak Villa: later to get it back.
Rico_Bambino: when you first bought them.
Dr. Joe: Man, y'all better miss me with all of that nonsense y'all talking.
Rico_Bambino: snow.
Oak Villa: All right, with that said, make sure you like, share, subscribe, and leave a comment.
Dr. Joe: That's right. And we won't respond. I'm gonna respond to it too.
Rico_Bambino: Witness smoke.
Oak Villa: And we out.
Stickman: Yeah.
