ABOUT THIS EPISODE
@WordiGirl-LexiCon sits down to talk about being genuinely who you are in all you do. Even if that is doing new things and doing them online. In this uplifting episode of The Church Digital podcast, host Flat Cap Dapper Pastor sits down with variety streamer Wordy Girl for a deep, encouraging conversation about authentic faith in digital spaces. Wordy Girl opens up about her unconventional journey into streaming—starting from judging a world-building article contest on World Anvil and reading community articles live to facing sudden job layoffs and discerning God's calling for her life. Rather than letting professional uncertainty stop her, she used her platform to build an intentional, loving community through co-working writing streams, custom scripture fortune cookies, and prayer card redeems. "I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ and that is part of me," Wordy Girl explains while reflecting on her decision to stream under the Christian tag. "I pray that God speaks through me and works through me while I'm live on stream just as would happen in real life." Throughout their chat, the two discuss the practical realities of online ministry, from surviving technical hiccups and bot attacks to fostering safe environments for viewers who feel alienated from traditional churches. Flat Cap Dapper Pastor also shares fascinating personal reflections on tapping maple trees, making dandelion wine, and constructing a flower prayer labyrinth in his backyard. As Wordy Girl shares regarding life's unpredictable moments: "It's not an actual plan with a map, but God is holding the map." The episode finishes with lighthearted fun as they play Scrabble-style Discord word games like Letter League and Spellcast together with the chat, demonstrating how creative media and play can spark genuine spiritual fellowship.
