ABOUT THIS EPISODE
What if recovery looked less like a program and more like a personalized journey? In this episode of Creative Healing, we talk with Cassidy Cousens, founder of Arago Integrative Recovery (AIR), about rethinking what treatment and recovery can look like when we step outside the traditional model. After more than 25 years in behavioral health—and two decades owning and operating treatment programs—Cassidy began asking a different question: What happens when we build the healing environment around the person, rather than asking the person to fit into the program? His answer is Arago Integrative Recovery: a one-on-one, nature-integrated approach that brings clinical work into open landscapes, movement, travel, and real-world experiences. AIR offers individualized options including 1:1 residential treatment and Road Trip Rehab, where travel and nature become part of the therapeutic process. In this conversation, Cassidy shares what he has learned from decades in the treatment world—and why he believes some people may find greater clarity and connection outside traditional group settings. We explore the role of nature, movement, human connection, capacity, purpose, and meaning in creating sustainable change. This is a conversation about recovery, but it's also about something bigger: what becomes possible when we stop assuming there is only one way to Heal.
