32
00:02:34.360 --> 00:02:38.199
So why take less when Pepsi's best? Whenever you reach
33
00:02:38.280 --> 00:02:40.120
for refreshments, remember.
34
00:02:40.479 --> 00:02:43.080
Why take less when Petsy's best?
35
00:02:43.680 --> 00:02:54.159
And now to counter spy out in the desert mountains
36
00:02:54.199 --> 00:02:57.639
of Mexico, they heat his long since destroyed all lives
37
00:02:58.560 --> 00:03:01.439
except high in the air the omorate circling of great
38
00:03:01.599 --> 00:03:06.000
bloodthirsty birds and pray, and I'm a hard sun cracked.
39
00:03:06.639 --> 00:03:10.240
A small group of men with one woman moving slowly
40
00:03:10.360 --> 00:03:11.360
to the base of a cliff.
41
00:03:14.960 --> 00:03:27.479
Very well, wi up here, Genora, Senora, listen to me, Senora,
42
00:03:28.960 --> 00:03:29.479
new men.
43
00:03:29.520 --> 00:03:33.439
You will listen to you have all worked for me
44
00:03:33.560 --> 00:03:36.199
for some years. I pay you well.
45
00:03:37.319 --> 00:03:41.120
No one in Mexico can deny that. But you know too,
46
00:03:41.280 --> 00:03:44.759
I will not allow anyone to betray me and live.
47
00:03:45.840 --> 00:03:48.840
This woman, this miserable wrection or.
48
00:03:48.960 --> 00:03:53.000
Husband, one of my most successful operators in narcotics, try
49
00:03:53.080 --> 00:03:58.360
to sell me out. Her husband he is already there,
50
00:03:59.400 --> 00:04:02.759
and I'll this woman shall die here never.
51
00:04:03.479 --> 00:04:06.000
Death will be a lesson to all of you. Never
52
00:04:06.159 --> 00:04:10.360
to talk, Senora.
53
00:04:11.039 --> 00:04:16.199
Yes, above you in the sky, you see the birds,
54
00:04:17.519 --> 00:04:18.399
the birds of death.
55
00:04:20.519 --> 00:04:27.959
The rest of you understands I see you do now, Senora.
56
00:04:28.120 --> 00:04:36.240
Now, gentlemen, we shall leave.
57
00:04:53.000 --> 00:04:56.040
Some weeks later, at midnight, in a cafe in the
58
00:04:56.120 --> 00:04:59.839
Mexican city of Cordebai, a trim alert eyed girls that
59
00:05:00.079 --> 00:05:04.240
drinking alone. As a young roughly dressed Mexican entered at
60
00:05:04.279 --> 00:05:07.720
the front door and approached her. He glanced down into
61
00:05:07.759 --> 00:05:11.000
her open purse and drew confidence from the twenty five
62
00:05:11.120 --> 00:05:21.319
caliber revolver in nestling there, old.
63
00:05:23.240 --> 00:05:23.920
Keep it clean.
64
00:05:25.720 --> 00:05:29.600
In Mexico, Whapa means terrippy city, what pretty nifty?
65
00:05:30.480 --> 00:05:33.800
I know American flag too. No, No, for the new
66
00:05:34.879 --> 00:05:37.399
teach is not in the mood. You have a little temple,
67
00:05:37.519 --> 00:05:39.319
but I sit down in healthy moves.
68
00:05:42.160 --> 00:05:45.240
You know it's as beautiful as the dons of my
69
00:05:45.319 --> 00:05:45.959
native village.
70
00:05:46.079 --> 00:05:49.759
Take an easy busy away yourself out all more so,
71
00:05:49.800 --> 00:05:50.480
those are lizards.
72
00:05:53.759 --> 00:05:54.920
Good to see you again, Patty.
73
00:05:55.120 --> 00:05:58.319
You have news and he's taken a ranch house twenty
74
00:05:58.360 --> 00:05:59.399
miles outside the city.
75
00:06:01.920 --> 00:06:05.480
You'll call me Ala Tanas and the boss.
76
00:06:06.839 --> 00:06:08.839
Jones. I'm ready to work with you.
77
00:06:09.920 --> 00:06:12.519
And then we're after Manuel Rodrige.
78
00:06:13.040 --> 00:06:20.639
The Manuel Rodrici has for the way. The yes, I
79
00:06:20.720 --> 00:06:21.040
guess that.
80
00:06:28.199 --> 00:06:30.079
Now, Pappy, tell me what you know about Rodrigi.
81
00:06:30.959 --> 00:06:34.199
He is one of the richest, most fantastic, most powerful
82
00:06:34.279 --> 00:06:38.879
man in Mexico and one of the cruelists. An international
83
00:06:38.959 --> 00:06:42.639
book of secret information on his enormous range not far
84
00:06:42.720 --> 00:06:43.040
from here.
85
00:06:43.079 --> 00:06:44.279
It is big yester.
86
00:06:45.319 --> 00:06:49.279
When American dancing shows come here, you invite everybody, make
87
00:06:49.360 --> 00:06:52.279
you guess for a week, people from all over the world.
88
00:06:52.759 --> 00:06:57.120
And when a medic on his ranch are said to
89
00:06:57.199 --> 00:07:00.759
be large puppy field for opium, a.
90
00:07:00.800 --> 00:07:05.759
Big dope smuggler, that's star boys, most of his enemies disappear,
91
00:07:06.720 --> 00:07:09.759
he said, these takes me into the desert and murders them.
92
00:07:10.959 --> 00:07:12.920
Others remained silent of the fear.
93
00:07:12.879 --> 00:07:15.480
You will be a great thrill to at smart and tape.
94
00:07:16.959 --> 00:07:17.680
You'll have a plan.
95
00:07:19.319 --> 00:07:23.639
First, you are to get an ordinary peonce job on
96
00:07:23.759 --> 00:07:24.879
the Rodriga's branch.
97
00:07:25.600 --> 00:07:28.079
That ought to be easier at this time of the year.
98
00:07:28.199 --> 00:07:34.240
Yes, in my hand under the table, in small packages.
99
00:07:35.279 --> 00:07:42.879
Taking I sell them. The drug in the blue paper
100
00:07:43.040 --> 00:07:46.920
will cause large blosses on your skin your meal. Now
101
00:07:47.000 --> 00:07:51.480
they're harmless. The drug and pink taper will make the
102
00:07:51.560 --> 00:07:54.839
pieces with your eyes dilated. Uh, and the one in
103
00:07:55.000 --> 00:07:59.839
white paper you'll run a quick high fever without any damage.
104
00:08:01.040 --> 00:08:04.560
And then in two weeks history.
105
00:08:04.720 --> 00:08:07.360
Jon Denial, we'll visit Manuel.
106
00:08:06.959 --> 00:08:11.439
Rodriguez and his rants. We will explain that we are
107
00:08:11.560 --> 00:08:16.600
agents of the United States government. Countess fine, why not,
108
00:08:18.240 --> 00:08:20.199
and that we have come to arrest you.
109
00:08:20.839 --> 00:08:25.560
Oh very good, now another drinking.
110
00:08:35.759 --> 00:08:39.440
Yes, well, now, what did you say your business was,
111
00:08:39.759 --> 00:08:45.480
mister John No, I didn't say, but I will mister Rodrigus,
112
00:08:46.360 --> 00:08:49.080
Miss Thomas and I are agents of the United States.
113
00:08:48.879 --> 00:08:53.639
Government, count on Mexican soil. We've just went into place
114
00:08:53.799 --> 00:08:56.679
nine miles from your ranch. Here you'll go mis place.
115
00:08:57.360 --> 00:09:00.039
All is right, and the reason.
116
00:09:00.159 --> 00:09:03.879
Mexico to recover a quantity of a new uranium compound
117
00:09:05.080 --> 00:09:08.480
was over a million dollars was stolen from one of
118
00:09:08.519 --> 00:09:14.320
our atomic plants. And you think I have it, mister Jones,
119
00:09:15.080 --> 00:09:19.000
We think it's here on your rent. I do not
120
00:09:19.240 --> 00:09:20.679
enjoy jokes of this kind.
121
00:09:20.799 --> 00:09:23.720
We'd already recovered the stuff and hit the criminals back
122
00:09:23.759 --> 00:09:25.000
to the stakes for punishment.
123
00:09:25.080 --> 00:09:27.559
And before a week it leaves to the uranium compound
124
00:09:27.679 --> 00:09:28.440
was stolen again.
125
00:09:29.200 --> 00:09:32.720
And again I asked, do you think I have it?
126
00:09:32.960 --> 00:09:36.679
Well, you know how to handle it. Oh, let me
127
00:09:36.720 --> 00:09:37.679
finish at seventh.
128
00:09:37.440 --> 00:09:42.720
Once in a while, mister Rodriguezuz MSS Thomas says, you
129
00:09:42.879 --> 00:09:45.919
would know how to handle uranium. But the thief we're
130
00:09:45.960 --> 00:09:49.840
afraid is not incredible. See he was swept up along
131
00:09:49.919 --> 00:09:52.879
with the money. What new papers out of a safe
132
00:09:52.960 --> 00:09:56.279
in my room? How did you learn that, mister j
133
00:09:57.360 --> 00:09:59.440
One of our pins confessed that two weeks ago he
134
00:09:59.519 --> 00:10:01.559
and another man I got drunken ransacked in my room.
135
00:10:02.279 --> 00:10:05.639
The paon was a guilty conference to Jones used a whip.
136
00:10:06.919 --> 00:10:11.480
That's how we found out about Peppy ramierris p Ah.
137
00:10:11.639 --> 00:10:16.240
Then he is working here, follow me to exactly for question.
138
00:10:17.879 --> 00:10:20.200
I'm got tell you. Whileever, he is very ill. My
139
00:10:20.399 --> 00:10:21.399
ranch doctor is back.
140
00:10:21.559 --> 00:10:22.480
Have you seen himself?
141
00:10:23.200 --> 00:10:25.639
Is his skin badly blunt? Pupil from the eyes on
142
00:10:25.759 --> 00:10:26.000
it him?
143
00:10:26.039 --> 00:10:26.919
You running a high fever?
144
00:10:28.720 --> 00:10:31.279
Oh? Did you know it's symptoms? Those are the early
145
00:10:31.360 --> 00:10:40.039
symptoms of uranium poisonen quince is, peppiness, Jones, rubs, doll plead, mister.
146
00:10:39.879 --> 00:10:42.679
John, do you mean that this miserable paon is hiding
147
00:10:42.759 --> 00:10:44.960
a million dollars worth of a new uranium?
148
00:10:45.039 --> 00:10:45.519
Come out?
149
00:10:45.919 --> 00:10:48.039
Or else? Would he get uranium plans?
150
00:10:48.679 --> 00:10:48.840
Right?
151
00:10:49.120 --> 00:10:54.399
Peer and my very noble and track it down this way.
152
00:11:05.039 --> 00:11:08.080
That the people want?
153
00:11:08.159 --> 00:11:11.399
The two better talk to. I'll make you sick of
154
00:11:12.879 --> 00:11:16.519
where to drive you one more chance, maybe.
155
00:11:16.360 --> 00:11:19.000
We'll meet it out of your good while I think
156
00:11:19.000 --> 00:11:19.799
he's cracking down.
157
00:11:19.919 --> 00:11:25.799
He did not know then that better pull him out
158
00:11:25.840 --> 00:11:30.639
of there. About the mattress, But are you glad for
159
00:11:30.679 --> 00:11:34.679
a love? That's special love? The only safe way to
160
00:11:34.759 --> 00:11:35.399
have this stuff?
161
00:11:36.080 --> 00:11:36.159
Now?
162
00:11:36.320 --> 00:11:41.639
The mattress, that's.
163
00:11:42.039 --> 00:11:42.639
Try the board?
164
00:11:43.080 --> 00:11:43.279
Yeah?
165
00:11:48.120 --> 00:11:50.440
Is there anything here?
166
00:11:50.519 --> 00:11:50.759
We are?
167
00:11:52.559 --> 00:11:59.600
See that little bottle worth a million dollars maybe more
168
00:12:00.360 --> 00:12:05.039
if some government abroad, Yes, I can imagine.
169
00:12:07.240 --> 00:12:10.720
Now May I offer you both some refreshments back.
170
00:12:10.600 --> 00:12:13.399
Of the house. No, thank you, We've got work to
171
00:12:13.440 --> 00:12:14.399
do with our own safe.
172
00:12:16.120 --> 00:12:19.000
I may call it do the next few days. Isness
173
00:12:19.200 --> 00:12:23.720
that purely social if you don't mind Ms. Thomers, not
174
00:12:23.879 --> 00:12:38.960
at all right, m d.
175
00:12:39.200 --> 00:12:42.639
He fell for two thousand and ten a perfect trick.
176
00:12:42.919 --> 00:12:45.279
They saw that little violet hung hung out like a
177
00:12:45.320 --> 00:12:45.840
hound dog.
178
00:12:46.240 --> 00:12:49.080
A million bucks, he thought, right under his nose, and
179
00:12:49.200 --> 00:12:49.919
he hadn't known it.
180
00:12:51.559 --> 00:12:56.840
Jones behind it on the road car following.
181
00:12:57.679 --> 00:12:59.360
Then the one is rod Riggers.
182
00:13:00.360 --> 00:13:03.039
Following to see where we go with a bottle.
183
00:13:03.360 --> 00:13:06.039
Maybe find out if we really are counted five or not?
184
00:13:08.000 --> 00:13:10.600
You think he was putting on an at that he's
185
00:13:10.639 --> 00:13:11.320
clever enough.
186
00:13:11.200 --> 00:13:13.679
To oh swear he thought that he was really sick.
187
00:13:14.480 --> 00:13:16.720
Lucky those drugs you gave petty full of the doctor.
188
00:13:19.519 --> 00:13:21.240
I thing to do now, but get back to the
189
00:13:21.279 --> 00:13:23.639
guns placing to see what's happened.
190
00:13:23.960 --> 00:13:27.720
With guns handy and back to the wall I caught
191
00:13:27.759 --> 00:13:32.600
to following. Maybe Rodriguez will pay that social call of
192
00:13:32.679 --> 00:13:38.000
his right away. He felt for you, odd he noticed
193
00:13:38.080 --> 00:13:41.759
you and I don't get along. I'm betting he makes
194
00:13:41.799 --> 00:13:45.240
a try for this little while. He won't stop at anything,
195
00:13:45.279 --> 00:13:46.360
and he things can get away with it.
196
00:13:47.679 --> 00:14:05.480
He may start several times.
197
00:14:06.759 --> 00:14:08.879
If you neither go away or come in. I don't
198
00:14:08.919 --> 00:14:09.679
like to suspense.
199
00:14:09.919 --> 00:14:11.360
He may shoot. Stay away from the windows.
200
00:14:12.519 --> 00:14:13.759
Can't we pull something on them?
201
00:14:14.480 --> 00:14:19.080
You might? Yeah, let's try what Yeah, no suitcase is
202
00:14:19.399 --> 00:14:21.639
not packing as if we're leaving. Maybe that'll have the
203
00:14:21.679 --> 00:14:22.360
limited actions.
204
00:14:22.679 --> 00:14:26.639
I'm trying my bags in the closet, Hella.
205
00:14:26.720 --> 00:14:28.559
I think if we drive the rest of the night,
206
00:14:28.600 --> 00:14:30.080
we can make our pasta by daylight.
207
00:14:30.440 --> 00:14:30.919
We can.
208
00:14:33.039 --> 00:14:36.279
Set to the bos and we get there. He's a
209
00:14:36.320 --> 00:14:40.720
beef peace. You know, it's the dawn game. We got
210
00:14:40.759 --> 00:14:43.240
that call to leave so soon. I like to surprise.
211
00:14:45.519 --> 00:14:47.519
M Now we find out the worst.
212
00:14:48.480 --> 00:14:59.799
I'll go, Oh, hello, mister Redriguez, come in for go?
213
00:15:00.080 --> 00:15:02.759
Do you forgive this an effected visit sooner than I
214
00:15:02.919 --> 00:15:06.879
plan without arming you?
215
00:15:07.000 --> 00:15:09.840
Look, he hasn't haven't I changed in the last two hours.
216
00:15:12.120 --> 00:15:12.440
Packing?
217
00:15:12.600 --> 00:15:16.799
Mister Jones, I understood you were saying some days more. Well,
218
00:15:18.039 --> 00:15:18.960
we got a hurry call.
219
00:15:20.200 --> 00:15:23.600
Always gives me no time to cultivate the acquaintance of missus.
220
00:15:24.080 --> 00:15:25.360
I'll come back someday. Mister.
221
00:15:26.879 --> 00:15:31.120
Perhaps you are not even leaving, either of you one.
222
00:15:32.200 --> 00:15:37.240
You are not United States counters fires. You yourselves are
223
00:15:37.279 --> 00:15:39.240
the thieves. Of that urania material.
224
00:15:39.480 --> 00:15:43.360
Mister, you're all wrong. Further, you yourselves intensive selling.
225
00:15:43.519 --> 00:15:47.240
We don't know anybody with a million dollars. Never let
226
00:15:47.360 --> 00:15:48.159
me talk, miss.
227
00:15:50.360 --> 00:15:53.159
Suppose you did know someone with a million dollars. We're
228
00:15:53.200 --> 00:15:57.320
American agents, Rodriguez. You are not. You're a pair of crooks.
229
00:15:58.960 --> 00:16:03.039
Now suppose that vile contains the uranium compound and you
230
00:16:03.159 --> 00:16:07.399
knew someone with a million and a hump.
231
00:16:10.360 --> 00:16:10.759
Dollars.
232
00:16:11.919 --> 00:16:18.519
Wow, that strength up, fella. Go ahead, Arigus. Can you
233
00:16:18.720 --> 00:16:22.919
prove it as the rear uranium compound. Let's say we couldn't.
234
00:16:24.159 --> 00:16:26.600
Then in three days I can raise a million and
235
00:16:26.679 --> 00:16:30.879
a half cash American dollars.
236
00:16:32.320 --> 00:16:35.279
And then you'll resell the material abroad for ten million.
237
00:16:35.759 --> 00:16:36.879
That would be my risk.
238
00:16:37.720 --> 00:16:43.600
Take the deal, chanty, Okay, Redrigus, we'll prove it's the
239
00:16:43.720 --> 00:16:47.240
uranium compound. Six drops plus certain other ingredients can be
240
00:16:47.320 --> 00:16:49.000
set off by a capitat fuse.
241
00:16:50.639 --> 00:16:51.440
Uranium is not.
242
00:16:51.559 --> 00:16:54.200
Set off that way. I told you this is a
243
00:16:54.320 --> 00:16:57.919
new secret development. It can be used dozens of ways.
244
00:16:58.840 --> 00:17:01.840
It will show me. Now if I let you know
245
00:17:01.879 --> 00:17:03.679
where the stuff is in our lives when they were
246
00:17:03.759 --> 00:17:11.480
the nickel cautious, aren't you very well, where and when
247
00:17:12.000 --> 00:17:14.480
we'll they give up tomorrow afternoon at two thirty and
248
00:17:14.599 --> 00:17:16.759
lead you to some deserted spot in these mountains around
249
00:17:16.799 --> 00:17:19.200
here wood until tomorrow.
250
00:17:18.960 --> 00:17:21.519
It's oh, you won't see me there.
251
00:17:22.359 --> 00:17:24.039
I'm going over to Gulf City and wait for a
252
00:17:24.079 --> 00:17:25.640
phone call from Jilnsey and.
253
00:17:25.759 --> 00:17:28.359
You it shall come from me, missus.
254
00:17:28.119 --> 00:17:32.720
Chalmers, one had better come from Jilnsey too, Mister Rodriges, Well,
255
00:17:32.759 --> 00:17:34.799
I tell the Mexican police that you left him in
256
00:17:34.880 --> 00:17:38.960
the mountains with those man eating goods you've got around here.
257
00:17:42.920 --> 00:17:46.720
You are both very clever. Good night.
258
00:18:00.400 --> 00:18:03.960
Back to Counterspy and just a moment, but first test.
259
00:18:04.000 --> 00:18:06.839
Collars take the spots, two four glasses, that's the.
260
00:18:06.960 --> 00:18:10.240
Lost lots more value, that's more debt. Why take less
261
00:18:10.279 --> 00:18:11.480
when Pepsi's that's.
262
00:18:11.440 --> 00:18:12.000
More and more?
263
00:18:12.039 --> 00:18:14.759
Among fellows and girls, among mothers and dads. You hear
264
00:18:14.880 --> 00:18:19.200
that scene and sensible question, Why take less when Pepsi's best,
265
00:18:19.880 --> 00:18:22.720
no budgets, no allowance ever had a better friend than
266
00:18:22.880 --> 00:18:26.960
tangy sparkling pets Cola. Because one big twelve out Pepsi
267
00:18:27.039 --> 00:18:30.480
bottle gives you two delicious drinks that's twice as much
268
00:18:30.559 --> 00:18:34.119
tangy taste twice as much delicious, Pepsi to go just
269
00:18:34.279 --> 00:18:37.720
twice as far. That's why more and more families say,
270
00:18:38.279 --> 00:18:42.319
why take less when Pepsi's best. Yes, family is like
271
00:18:42.440 --> 00:18:46.480
yours and mine. Families all over America they're all saying,
272
00:18:47.039 --> 00:18:51.599
why take less? When Pepsi's best testiclas.
273
00:18:50.759 --> 00:18:53.519
So delicious and his bottle makes two drinks? It is
274
00:18:53.599 --> 00:18:55.559
certainly the cola for the purchase.
275
00:18:55.799 --> 00:18:59.720
Who thinks everybody's thinking Testy does compare us with the rest.
276
00:19:00.039 --> 00:19:01.160
Small Thomas Spiner?
277
00:19:01.240 --> 00:19:01.920
Why take last?
278
00:19:01.960 --> 00:19:02.079
One?
279
00:19:02.160 --> 00:19:07.000
Petty debt today tomorrow? Always get America's biggest call about you?
280
00:19:07.480 --> 00:19:11.039
Take Holm of carton of six big big Petsi bottles,
281
00:19:11.640 --> 00:19:15.799
Insist on Petsi at the store and say Pepsi Apple fountain,
282
00:19:16.240 --> 00:19:21.039
Stay Petsi app of sand, Say Pepsi whenever you reach
283
00:19:21.079 --> 00:19:21.920
for refreshments.
284
00:19:22.119 --> 00:19:27.519
Remember why take last? When Petsi's debt? And now back
285
00:19:27.559 --> 00:19:28.359
to Counterspy.
286
00:19:29.000 --> 00:19:39.440
It is hot blazing noon in the desert mountains of Mexico, Nriguez.
287
00:19:39.799 --> 00:19:43.920
We're forty miles from any other human beings. Here's where
288
00:19:43.960 --> 00:19:49.440
I've set up the experiment. It'll be fairly said, how you.
289
00:19:49.559 --> 00:19:52.680
Dropped the uranium compound plus the other ingredients in the fuse.
290
00:19:53.920 --> 00:19:57.680
Have you ready, mister Johnes, look at the birds of
291
00:19:57.839 --> 00:19:59.279
prey such in above.
292
00:19:59.160 --> 00:20:02.519
In the atis g. I guess we look like a
293
00:20:02.680 --> 00:20:05.400
meal to them, and we call them birds of death.
294
00:20:06.359 --> 00:20:09.079
They're cruel, powerful, bloodthirsty.
295
00:20:10.680 --> 00:20:14.119
If you try to cheat me, mister Jones, I will
296
00:20:14.200 --> 00:20:16.359
break both your legs with bullets and.
297
00:20:16.559 --> 00:20:19.720
Leave you here alive. For those.
298
00:20:21.920 --> 00:20:32.519
Cute ideas. You have something light the fuse? Now run,
299
00:20:32.559 --> 00:20:33.279
we have eight seconds.
300
00:20:35.759 --> 00:20:59.759
Wait, mister Dawns, thyself help here helping you. I apologize
301
00:20:59.759 --> 00:21:02.519
them of patience. I will have the money for you
302
00:21:02.640 --> 00:21:05.759
in forty eight hours. Where your ranch.
303
00:21:05.519 --> 00:21:08.359
House fine, and I'll be ready to show you where
304
00:21:08.359 --> 00:21:30.759
the material is. Until then, there's the Jones. I'm driving away, Come.
305
00:21:30.640 --> 00:21:37.359
On out, I thought to he saw that wire unto
306
00:21:37.400 --> 00:21:40.279
the battery as he luckily for us and agree making
307
00:21:40.359 --> 00:21:40.839
him blind.
308
00:21:41.400 --> 00:21:43.480
What if he followed us out here last night when
309
00:21:43.519 --> 00:21:45.559
we set up this take your rain and.
310
00:21:45.640 --> 00:21:48.799
Explosion When he fell down, he was really scared. He
311
00:21:48.960 --> 00:21:50.440
never suspected to take.
312
00:21:50.440 --> 00:21:55.039
But off of this please sence worth of harmless powder,
313
00:21:55.200 --> 00:21:56.079
posing the grain.
314
00:21:56.880 --> 00:21:58.640
It's charges of ordinary t n T.
315
00:21:59.000 --> 00:22:02.200
Stop worrying law. We've got rad Rigguez hooked. Come on,
316
00:22:02.319 --> 00:22:03.119
let's get to our ranch.
317
00:22:12.680 --> 00:22:15.039
Fans twice may be great, jells you, but I don't.
318
00:22:14.920 --> 00:22:16.519
Like cooked another day to wait.
319
00:22:16.839 --> 00:22:20.039
Well, that's all you want Mexican beans, Mexican beans.
320
00:22:20.119 --> 00:22:21.440
I'd rather have Mexican bean.
321
00:22:21.839 --> 00:22:22.519
That's all we got.
322
00:22:24.319 --> 00:22:30.799
Put out the line out the back window. That's how
323
00:22:30.839 --> 00:22:33.039
somebody coming as ahead of time.
324
00:22:33.680 --> 00:22:36.839
Get me on the doorway to the dining room. I'll
325
00:22:36.880 --> 00:22:59.920
stay here. You couple me with your gun, mister Joe.
326
00:23:01.960 --> 00:23:05.759
Yeah, I'm David Harding, and I to say counters five.
327
00:23:07.079 --> 00:23:09.759
Yeah, I come in. Can't stop you can I?
328
00:23:14.200 --> 00:23:14.440
Hello?
329
00:23:15.160 --> 00:23:17.720
Yes, okay, I like to come on him.
330
00:23:20.720 --> 00:23:22.039
A glad Hello.
331
00:23:22.240 --> 00:23:24.839
I'm sorry to put you to through this rigamarole David
332
00:23:24.960 --> 00:23:27.079
Rodriguez around fifty versus the best motto.
333
00:23:27.200 --> 00:23:30.599
I here, I'm mister Jones. Can we use the short
334
00:23:30.680 --> 00:23:31.279
wave radio?
335
00:23:31.359 --> 00:23:31.720
All right?
336
00:23:31.839 --> 00:23:31.960
Them?
337
00:23:32.160 --> 00:23:33.440
Harding hid in the color.
338
00:23:38.160 --> 00:23:39.960
I want the Mexican Secret Police from court of a.
339
00:23:40.079 --> 00:23:46.400
What's the frequency? Tennelly teams herding to f X channel eighteen.
340
00:23:47.160 --> 00:23:59.240
Come in channel eighteen. Hello, Ladriguez has fallen by cock
341
00:23:59.279 --> 00:23:59.519
and bull.
342
00:23:59.559 --> 00:24:02.960
Story. But that's stole an uranium. All we need is
343
00:24:03.039 --> 00:24:03.720
one break so.
344
00:24:03.759 --> 00:24:06.079
We can get other people to talk to us about Rodriguez.
345
00:24:06.720 --> 00:24:10.880
You better stand by and take thy need help now,

00:24:23.480 --> 00:24:25.400
go ahead Edward from.
348
00:24:25.319 --> 00:24:27.720
Now on Pieter's channel open twenty four hours a day.
349
00:24:27.880 --> 00:24:31.960
I may want instantaneous check on fingerprints. I'm with Peters
350
00:24:32.000 --> 00:24:34.599
in La in Mexico and their ranch house. I blew
351
00:24:34.640 --> 00:24:37.319
in this morning when things got hot. We're getting the
352
00:24:37.359 --> 00:24:41.160
best line yet on our old friend Rodriguez, the espionized brooker.
353
00:24:43.519 --> 00:24:45.440
He's got a baited hook out for him. But with
354
00:24:45.519 --> 00:24:47.400
that man, I'm not going to wait for him to bike.
355
00:24:47.720 --> 00:24:49.359
I'm going to time up down his stroke.
356
00:25:08.839 --> 00:25:18.640
Kenyan, tell so lady's night.
357
00:25:18.799 --> 00:25:19.680
How do you think you talk?
358
00:25:20.240 --> 00:25:23.519
What happened? I had a fight with John, You know,
359
00:25:23.640 --> 00:25:24.000
my god?
360
00:25:24.480 --> 00:25:26.799
I want him with a paper. Did I tell him
361
00:25:26.839 --> 00:25:27.440
please help me?
362
00:25:27.920 --> 00:25:30.839
Of the cordailer? Where did you leave him?
363
00:25:30.960 --> 00:25:31.119
Back?
364
00:25:31.160 --> 00:25:31.319
And all?
365
00:25:31.799 --> 00:25:33.319
He's gonna bloody?
366
00:25:34.119 --> 00:25:34.920
He said, because I.
367
00:25:34.880 --> 00:25:35.759
Don't know what I'm going to do.
368
00:25:36.680 --> 00:25:39.319
My dear Ella, I look after you, look.
369
00:25:39.200 --> 00:25:40.319
At police and may discover the.
370
00:25:40.359 --> 00:25:41.119
Murder and look for me.
371
00:25:41.720 --> 00:25:45.920
It need be. I can hide you forever of Firse,
372
00:25:46.039 --> 00:25:49.079
don't by. I don't want to go back to you.
373
00:25:50.359 --> 00:25:50.720
My dear.
374
00:25:50.880 --> 00:25:55.119
I was planning to buy that ring and confound Nah
375
00:25:55.319 --> 00:25:56.799
can't you and I get it?
376
00:25:56.920 --> 00:26:12.240
For nothing comes dark in there?
377
00:26:12.480 --> 00:26:12.680
I know.
378
00:26:12.839 --> 00:26:14.880
I cut the light and telephone right when I left
379
00:26:15.160 --> 00:26:18.920
the candle. Yes, yes, there's one beside. You're on a piano.
380
00:26:20.079 --> 00:26:20.279
Ah.
381
00:26:27.119 --> 00:26:31.480
Yes, our friends mister will live, don't you lie? But
382
00:26:31.680 --> 00:26:36.200
not very much alive now the Uranium Company. I know
383
00:26:36.279 --> 00:26:37.279
where I couldn't get it.
384
00:26:37.599 --> 00:26:38.480
It's the moment.
385
00:26:41.519 --> 00:26:45.920
Hidden behind a picture on the wall. What an obvious place.
386
00:26:45.759 --> 00:26:48.440
It would say. You're the only one that even knew
387
00:26:48.480 --> 00:26:51.880
we had nothing. I have it here. That's how you
388
00:26:51.960 --> 00:26:52.359
handle it.
389
00:26:54.240 --> 00:26:57.920
Now to arrange matters for you, you.
390
00:26:57.920 --> 00:27:00.920
Will leave all your clothes here except what you actually need.
391
00:27:02.279 --> 00:27:04.599
From the shallow grave of a woman I had to
392
00:27:06.279 --> 00:27:09.599
dispose of not far from here, I won't do.
393
00:27:11.559 --> 00:27:11.599
It.
394
00:27:11.839 --> 00:27:15.200
Was enough mind being impersonated by the bones of a
395
00:27:15.359 --> 00:27:15.880
dead woman.
396
00:27:16.839 --> 00:27:21.279
I don't see it, and we will Manster split up
397
00:27:21.359 --> 00:27:26.799
the booking the middle, for instance, what are you doing
398
00:27:27.440 --> 00:27:28.279
planning your desk?
399
00:27:28.319 --> 00:27:28.759
Miss come?
400
00:27:29.240 --> 00:27:33.519
I got it gone Madrid it your parents in this
401
00:27:33.720 --> 00:27:37.519
house burnt out by an accidental fire, always you had
402
00:27:37.599 --> 00:27:39.359
on my vans until we go to Europe.
403
00:27:39.599 --> 00:27:42.680
Secretly, that's out the finnicopment for John.
404
00:27:43.079 --> 00:27:45.640
Kill him before you set the fire, of course without
405
00:27:45.680 --> 00:27:48.079
a bookings.
406
00:27:51.240 --> 00:27:55.759
For the United States, Mexican national pendulous one card, violating
407
00:27:55.799 --> 00:27:58.759
of the International Agreement covering the Safety of Atomic Material
408
00:27:58.799 --> 00:27:59.440
and Information.
409
00:27:59.640 --> 00:28:01.839
I was not and this alone, this woman.
410
00:28:01.880 --> 00:28:04.119
This man John right away, juntie, okay.
411
00:28:04.359 --> 00:28:06.559
Fine, only tired and lying on the floor.
412
00:28:07.279 --> 00:28:10.680
Meet mister Jones. Oh let's call him Harry Peters, my assistant.
413
00:28:11.039 --> 00:28:13.240
But you'll have no evidence. No one will have to
414
00:28:13.240 --> 00:28:15.119
speak again. You're a murderer.
415
00:28:15.400 --> 00:28:18.240
You kept people silent by peer. The guvernment and narcotics
416
00:28:18.279 --> 00:28:21.119
runners who worked for you were afraid to talk. Now
417
00:28:21.200 --> 00:28:22.799
that you're on to a rusbe will be free to
418
00:28:22.880 --> 00:28:23.880
tell everything they know.
419
00:28:24.079 --> 00:28:26.720
By the way, mister hard and here's the uranium that
420
00:28:27.480 --> 00:28:29.640
talk he earned that la let him keeep it.
421
00:28:29.839 --> 00:28:32.759
It's only a few cents full of harmless powder. I'm sorry,
422
00:28:33.599 --> 00:28:36.839
but illegal possession of uranium is the one charge.
423
00:28:36.640 --> 00:28:37.640
We can't hang on you.

sure to listen.

Case of a bouncing bank robber on Counterspy. The night's
443
00:30:17.039 --> 00:30:20.839
Counterspy program, originated in New York, was directed by William M.
444

Sweet and featured Don McLaughlin and Mandelle Kramer with music

447
00:31:15.119 --> 00:31:19.480
Welcome Back. I love the counter Spy gives us these
448
00:31:19.759 --> 00:31:25.759
good sting stories where they are laying traps for criminals.
449
00:31:25.880 --> 00:31:28.559
And it's also nice to get a story that is
450
00:31:28.839 --> 00:31:34.839
much more Peter's driven and Peters centered, because that does
451
00:31:35.039 --> 00:31:40.240
feel more like how a real life agency like Counterspo
452
00:31:40.359 --> 00:31:43.039
should work. You know, you didn't have j Edgar Hoover,
453
00:31:44.440 --> 00:31:48.000
you know, running all of the FBI's cases during this time,
454
00:31:48.279 --> 00:31:50.400
which is kind of the equivalent of what we have
455
00:31:50.559 --> 00:31:54.799
in so many episodes of Counterspy. And even then, David
456
00:31:54.920 --> 00:31:57.759
Harding still is probably taking a bit of a bigger
457
00:31:57.880 --> 00:32:02.759
role than Hoover or even some higher ranking like special
458
00:32:02.839 --> 00:32:07.519
agents in charge Wood. But Harding remains such a solid
459
00:32:07.640 --> 00:32:13.599
planner that you can understand why he essentially had counterstoff
460
00:32:13.839 --> 00:32:18.240
by agents pretend to be criminals pretending to be Counterspy agents.
461
00:32:18.519 --> 00:32:22.319
Kramer definitely is able to carry the material, and you
462
00:32:22.440 --> 00:32:26.119
do see the makings of how he became such an
463
00:32:26.160 --> 00:32:31.079
important leading man in the closing days of the Golden
464

bloodthirsty birds and pray, and I'm a hard sun cracked.
39
00:03:06.639 --> 00:03:10.240
A small group of men with one woman moving slowly
40
00:03:10.360 --> 00:03:11.360
to the base of a cliff.
41
00:03:14.960 --> 00:03:27.479
Very well, wi up here, Genora, Senora, listen to me, Senora,
42
00:03:28.960 --> 00:03:29.479
new men.
43
00:03:29.520 --> 00:03:33.439
You will listen to you have all worked for me
44
00:03:33.560 --> 00:03:36.199
for some years. I pay you well.
45
00:03:37.319 --> 00:03:41.120
No one in Mexico can deny that. But you know too,
46
00:03:41.280 --> 00:03:44.759
I will not allow anyone to betray me and live.
47
00:03:45.840 --> 00:03:48.840
This woman, this miserable wrection or.
48
00:03:48.960 --> 00:03:53.000
Husband, one of my most successful operators in narcotics, try
49
00:03:53.080 --> 00:03:58.360
to sell me out. Her husband he is already there,
50
00:03:59.400 --> 00:04:02.759
and I'll this woman shall die here never.
51
00:04:03.479 --> 00:04:06.000
Death will be a lesson to all of you. Never
52
00:04:06.159 --> 00:04:10.360
to talk, Senora.
53
00:04:11.039 --> 00:04:16.199
Yes, above you in the sky, you see the birds,
54
00:04:17.519 --> 00:04:18.399
the birds of death.
55
00:04:20.519 --> 00:04:27.959
The rest of you understands I see you do now, Senora.
56
00:04:28.120 --> 00:04:36.240
Now, gentlemen, we shall leave.
57
00:04:53.000 --> 00:04:56.040
Some weeks later, at midnight, in a cafe in the
58
00:04:56.120 --> 00:04:59.839
Mexican city of Cordebai, a trim alert eyed girls that
59
00:05:00.079 --> 00:05:04.240
drinking alone. As a young roughly dressed Mexican entered at
60
00:05:04.279 --> 00:05:07.720
the front door and approached her. He glanced down into
61
00:05:07.759 --> 00:05:11.000
her open purse and drew confidence from the twenty five
62
00:05:11.120 --> 00:05:21.319
caliber revolver in nestling there, old.
63
00:05:23.240 --> 00:05:23.920
Keep it clean.
64
00:05:25.720 --> 00:05:29.600
In Mexico, Whapa means terrippy city, what pretty nifty?
65
00:05:30.480 --> 00:05:33.800
I know American flag too. No, No, for the new
66
00:05:34.879 --> 00:05:37.399
teach is not in the mood. You have a little temple,
67
00:05:37.519 --> 00:05:39.319
but I sit down in healthy moves.
68
00:05:42.160 --> 00:05:45.240
You know it's as beautiful as the dons of my
69
00:05:45.319 --> 00:05:45.959
native village.
70
00:05:46.079 --> 00:05:49.759
Take an easy busy away yourself out all more so,
71
00:05:49.800 --> 00:05:50.480
those are lizards.
72
00:05:53.759 --> 00:05:54.920
Good to see you again, Patty.
73
00:05:55.120 --> 00:05:58.319
You have news and he's taken a ranch house twenty
74
00:05:58.360 --> 00:05:59.399
miles outside the city.
75
00:06:01.920 --> 00:06:05.480
You'll call me Ala Tanas and the boss.
76
00:06:06.839 --> 00:06:08.839
Jones. I'm ready to work with you.
77
00:06:09.920 --> 00:06:12.519
And then we're after Manuel Rodrige.
78
00:06:13.040 --> 00:06:20.639
The Manuel Rodrici has for the way. The yes, I
79
00:06:20.720 --> 00:06:21.040
guess that.
80
00:06:28.199 --> 00:06:30.079
Now, Pappy, tell me what you know about Rodrigi.
81
00:06:30.959 --> 00:06:34.199
He is one of the richest, most fantastic, most powerful
82
00:06:34.279 --> 00:06:38.879
man in Mexico and one of the cruelists. An international
83
00:06:38.959 --> 00:06:42.639
book of secret information on his enormous range not far
84
00:06:42.720 --> 00:06:43.040
from here.
85
00:06:43.079 --> 00:06:44.279
It is big yester.
86
00:06:45.319 --> 00:06:49.279
When American dancing shows come here, you invite everybody, make
87
00:06:49.360 --> 00:06:52.279
you guess for a week, people from all over the world.
88
00:06:52.759 --> 00:06:57.120
And when a medic on his ranch are said to
89
00:06:57.199 --> 00:07:00.759
be large puppy field for opium, a.
90
00:07:00.800 --> 00:07:05.759
Big dope smuggler, that's star boys, most of his enemies disappear,
91
00:07:06.720 --> 00:07:09.759
he said, these takes me into the desert and murders them.
92
00:07:10.959 --> 00:07:12.920
Others remained silent of the fear.
93
00:07:12.879 --> 00:07:15.480
You will be a great thrill to at smart and tape.
94
00:07:16.959 --> 00:07:17.680
You'll have a plan.
95
00:07:19.319 --> 00:07:23.639
First, you are to get an ordinary peonce job on
96
00:07:23.759 --> 00:07:24.879
the Rodriga's branch.
97
00:07:25.600 --> 00:07:28.079
That ought to be easier at this time of the year.
98
00:07:28.199 --> 00:07:34.240
Yes, in my hand under the table, in small packages.
99
00:07:35.279 --> 00:07:42.879
Taking I sell them. The drug in the blue paper
100
00:07:43.040 --> 00:07:46.920
will cause large blosses on your skin your meal. Now
101
00:07:47.000 --> 00:07:51.480
they're harmless. The drug and pink taper will make the
102
00:07:51.560 --> 00:07:54.839
pieces with your eyes dilated. Uh, and the one in
103
00:07:55.000 --> 00:07:59.839
white paper you'll run a quick high fever without any damage.
104
00:08:01.040 --> 00:08:04.560
And then in two weeks history.
105
00:08:04.720 --> 00:08:07.360
Jon Denial, we'll visit Manuel.
106
00:08:06.959 --> 00:08:11.439
Rodriguez and his rants. We will explain that we are
107
00:08:11.560 --> 00:08:16.600
agents of the United States government. Countess fine, why not,
108
00:08:18.240 --> 00:08:20.199
and that we have come to arrest you.
109
00:08:20.839 --> 00:08:25.560
Oh very good, now another drinking.
110
00:08:35.759 --> 00:08:39.440
Yes, well, now, what did you say your business was,
111
00:08:39.759 --> 00:08:45.480
mister John No, I didn't say, but I will mister Rodrigus,
112
00:08:46.360 --> 00:08:49.080
Miss Thomas and I are agents of the United States.
113
00:08:48.879 --> 00:08:53.639
Government, count on Mexican soil. We've just went into place
114
00:08:53.799 --> 00:08:56.679
nine miles from your ranch. Here you'll go mis place.
115
00:08:57.360 --> 00:09:00.039
All is right, and the reason.
116
00:09:00.159 --> 00:09:03.879
Mexico to recover a quantity of a new uranium compound
117
00:09:05.080 --> 00:09:08.480
was over a million dollars was stolen from one of
118
00:09:08.519 --> 00:09:14.320
our atomic plants. And you think I have it, mister Jones,
119
00:09:15.080 --> 00:09:19.000
We think it's here on your rent. I do not
120
00:09:19.240 --> 00:09:20.679
enjoy jokes of this kind.
121
00:09:20.799 --> 00:09:23.720
We'd already recovered the stuff and hit the criminals back
122
00:09:23.759 --> 00:09:25.000
to the stakes for punishment.
123
00:09:25.080 --> 00:09:27.559
And before a week it leaves to the uranium compound
124
00:09:27.679 --> 00:09:28.440
was stolen again.
125
00:09:29.200 --> 00:09:32.720
And again I asked, do you think I have it?
126
00:09:32.960 --> 00:09:36.679
Well, you know how to handle it. Oh, let me
127
00:09:36.720 --> 00:09:37.679
finish at seventh.
128
00:09:37.440 --> 00:09:42.720
Once in a while, mister Rodriguezuz MSS Thomas says, you
129
00:09:42.879 --> 00:09:45.919
would know how to handle uranium. But the thief we're
130
00:09:45.960 --> 00:09:49.840
afraid is not incredible. See he was swept up along
131
00:09:49.919 --> 00:09:52.879
with the money. What new papers out of a safe
132
00:09:52.960 --> 00:09:56.279
in my room? How did you learn that, mister j
133
00:09:57.360 --> 00:09:59.440
One of our pins confessed that two weeks ago he
134
00:09:59.519 --> 00:10:01.559
and another man I got drunken ransacked in my room.
135
00:10:02.279 --> 00:10:05.639
The paon was a guilty conference to Jones used a whip.
136
00:10:06.919 --> 00:10:11.480
That's how we found out about Peppy ramierris p Ah.
137
00:10:11.639 --> 00:10:16.240
Then he is working here, follow me to exactly for question.
138
00:10:17.879 --> 00:10:20.200
I'm got tell you. Whileever, he is very ill. My
139
00:10:20.399 --> 00:10:21.399
ranch doctor is back.
140
00:10:21.559 --> 00:10:22.480
Have you seen himself?
141
00:10:23.200 --> 00:10:25.639
Is his skin badly blunt? Pupil from the eyes on
142
00:10:25.759 --> 00:10:26.000
it him?
143
00:10:26.039 --> 00:10:26.919
You running a high fever?
144
00:10:28.720 --> 00:10:31.279
Oh? Did you know it's symptoms? Those are the early
145
00:10:31.360 --> 00:10:40.039
symptoms of uranium poisonen quince is, peppiness, Jones, rubs, doll plead, mister.
146
00:10:39.879 --> 00:10:42.679
John, do you mean that this miserable paon is hiding
147
00:10:42.759 --> 00:10:44.960
a million dollars worth of a new uranium?
148
00:10:45.039 --> 00:10:45.519
Come out?
149
00:10:45.919 --> 00:10:48.039
Or else? Would he get uranium plans?
150
00:10:48.679 --> 00:10:48.840
Right?
151
00:10:49.120 --> 00:10:54.399
Peer and my very noble and track it down this way.
152
00:11:05.039 --> 00:11:08.080
That the people want?
153
00:11:08.159 --> 00:11:11.399
The two better talk to. I'll make you sick of
154
00:11:12.879 --> 00:11:16.519
where to drive you one more chance, maybe.
155
00:11:16.360 --> 00:11:19.000
We'll meet it out of your good while I think
156
00:11:19.000 --> 00:11:19.799
he's cracking down.
157
00:11:19.919 --> 00:11:25.799
He did not know then that better pull him out
158
00:11:25.840 --> 00:11:30.639
of there. About the mattress, But are you glad for
159
00:11:30.679 --> 00:11:34.679
a love? That's special love? The only safe way to
160
00:11:34.759 --> 00:11:35.399
have this stuff?
161
00:11:36.080 --> 00:11:36.159
Now?
162
00:11:36.320 --> 00:11:41.639
The mattress, that's.
163
00:11:42.039 --> 00:11:42.639
Try the board?
164
00:11:43.080 --> 00:11:43.279
Yeah?
165
00:11:48.120 --> 00:11:50.440
Is there anything here?
166
00:11:50.519 --> 00:11:50.759
We are?
167
00:11:52.559 --> 00:11:59.600
See that little bottle worth a million dollars maybe more
168
00:12:00.360 --> 00:12:05.039
if some government abroad, Yes, I can imagine.
169
00:12:07.240 --> 00:12:10.720
Now May I offer you both some refreshments back.
170
00:12:10.600 --> 00:12:13.399
Of the house. No, thank you, We've got work to
171
00:12:13.440 --> 00:12:14.399
do with our own safe.
172
00:12:16.120 --> 00:12:19.000
I may call it do the next few days. Isness
173
00:12:19.200 --> 00:12:23.720
that purely social if you don't mind Ms. Thomers, not
174
00:12:23.879 --> 00:12:38.960
at all right, m d.
175
00:12:39.200 --> 00:12:42.639
He fell for two thousand and ten a perfect trick.
176
00:12:42.919 --> 00:12:45.279
They saw that little violet hung hung out like a
177
00:12:45.320 --> 00:12:45.840
hound dog.
178
00:12:46.240 --> 00:12:49.080
A million bucks, he thought, right under his nose, and
179
00:12:49.200 --> 00:12:49.919
he hadn't known it.
180
00:12:51.559 --> 00:12:56.840
Jones behind it on the road car following.
181
00:12:57.679 --> 00:12:59.360
Then the one is rod Riggers.
182
00:13:00.360 --> 00:13:03.039
Following to see where we go with a bottle.
183
00:13:03.360 --> 00:13:06.039
Maybe find out if we really are counted five or not?
184
00:13:08.000 --> 00:13:10.600
You think he was putting on an at that he's
185
00:13:10.639 --> 00:13:11.320
clever enough.
186
00:13:11.200 --> 00:13:13.679
To oh swear he thought that he was really sick.
187
00:13:14.480 --> 00:13:16.720
Lucky those drugs you gave petty full of the doctor.
188
00:13:19.519 --> 00:13:21.240
I thing to do now, but get back to the
189
00:13:21.279 --> 00:13:23.639
guns placing to see what's happened.
190
00:13:23.960 --> 00:13:27.720
With guns handy and back to the wall I caught
191
00:13:27.759 --> 00:13:32.600
to following. Maybe Rodriguez will pay that social call of
192
00:13:32.679 --> 00:13:38.000
his right away. He felt for you, odd he noticed
193
00:13:38.080 --> 00:13:41.759
you and I don't get along. I'm betting he makes
194
00:13:41.799 --> 00:13:45.240
a try for this little while. He won't stop at anything,
195
00:13:45.279 --> 00:13:46.360
and he things can get away with it.
196
00:13:47.679 --> 00:14:05.480
He may start several times.
197
00:14:06.759 --> 00:14:08.879
If you neither go away or come in. I don't
198
00:14:08.919 --> 00:14:09.679
like to suspense.
199
00:14:09.919 --> 00:14:11.360
He may shoot. Stay away from the windows.
200
00:14:12.519 --> 00:14:13.759
Can't we pull something on them?
201
00:14:14.480 --> 00:14:19.080
You might? Yeah, let's try what Yeah, no suitcase is
202
00:14:19.399 --> 00:14:21.639
not packing as if we're leaving. Maybe that'll have the
203
00:14:21.679 --> 00:14:22.360
limited actions.
204
00:14:22.679 --> 00:14:26.639
I'm trying my bags in the closet, Hella.
205
00:14:26.720 --> 00:14:28.559
I think if we drive the rest of the night,
206
00:14:28.600 --> 00:14:30.080
we can make our pasta by daylight.
207
00:14:30.440 --> 00:14:30.919
We can.
208
00:14:33.039 --> 00:14:36.279
Set to the bos and we get there. He's a
209
00:14:36.320 --> 00:14:40.720
beef peace. You know, it's the dawn game. We got
210
00:14:40.759 --> 00:14:43.240
that call to leave so soon. I like to surprise.
211
00:14:45.519 --> 00:14:47.519
M Now we find out the worst.
212
00:14:48.480 --> 00:14:59.799
I'll go, Oh, hello, mister Redriguez, come in for go?
213
00:15:00.080 --> 00:15:02.759
Do you forgive this an effected visit sooner than I
214
00:15:02.919 --> 00:15:06.879
plan without arming you?
215
00:15:07.000 --> 00:15:09.840
Look, he hasn't haven't I changed in the last two hours.
216
00:15:12.120 --> 00:15:12.440
Packing?
217
00:15:12.600 --> 00:15:16.799
Mister Jones, I understood you were saying some days more. Well,
218
00:15:18.039 --> 00:15:18.960
we got a hurry call.
219
00:15:20.200 --> 00:15:23.600
Always gives me no time to cultivate the acquaintance of missus.
220
00:15:24.080 --> 00:15:25.360
I'll come back someday. Mister.
221
00:15:26.879 --> 00:15:31.120
Perhaps you are not even leaving, either of you one.
222
00:15:32.200 --> 00:15:37.240
You are not United States counters fires. You yourselves are
223
00:15:37.279 --> 00:15:39.240
the thieves. Of that urania material.
224
00:15:39.480 --> 00:15:43.360
Mister, you're all wrong. Further, you yourselves intensive selling.
225
00:15:43.519 --> 00:15:47.240
We don't know anybody with a million dollars. Never let
226
00:15:47.360 --> 00:15:48.159
me talk, miss.
227
00:15:50.360 --> 00:15:53.159
Suppose you did know someone with a million dollars. We're
228
00:15:53.200 --> 00:15:57.320
American agents, Rodriguez. You are not. You're a pair of crooks.
229
00:15:58.960 --> 00:16:03.039
Now suppose that vile contains the uranium compound and you
230
00:16:03.159 --> 00:16:07.399
knew someone with a million and a hump.
231
00:16:10.360 --> 00:16:10.759
Dollars.
232
00:16:11.919 --> 00:16:18.519
Wow, that strength up, fella. Go ahead, Arigus. Can you
233
00:16:18.720 --> 00:16:22.919
prove it as the rear uranium compound. Let's say we couldn't.
234
00:16:24.159 --> 00:16:26.600
Then in three days I can raise a million and
235
00:16:26.679 --> 00:16:30.879
a half cash American dollars.
236
00:16:32.320 --> 00:16:35.279
And then you'll resell the material abroad for ten million.
237
00:16:35.759 --> 00:16:36.879
That would be my risk.
238
00:16:37.720 --> 00:16:43.600
Take the deal, chanty, Okay, Redrigus, we'll prove it's the
239
00:16:43.720 --> 00:16:47.240
uranium compound. Six drops plus certain other ingredients can be
240
00:16:47.320 --> 00:16:49.000
set off by a capitat fuse.
241
00:16:50.639 --> 00:16:51.440
Uranium is not.
242
00:16:51.559 --> 00:16:54.200
Set off that way. I told you this is a
243
00:16:54.320 --> 00:16:57.919
new secret development. It can be used dozens of ways.
244
00:16:58.840 --> 00:17:01.840
It will show me. Now if I let you know
245
00:17:01.879 --> 00:17:03.679
where the stuff is in our lives when they were
246
00:17:03.759 --> 00:17:11.480
the nickel cautious, aren't you very well, where and when
247
00:17:12.000 --> 00:17:14.480
we'll they give up tomorrow afternoon at two thirty and
248
00:17:14.599 --> 00:17:16.759
lead you to some deserted spot in these mountains around
249
00:17:16.799 --> 00:17:19.200
here wood until tomorrow.
250
00:17:18.960 --> 00:17:21.519
It's oh, you won't see me there.
251
00:17:22.359 --> 00:17:24.039
I'm going over to Gulf City and wait for a
252
00:17:24.079 --> 00:17:25.640
phone call from Jilnsey and.
253
00:17:25.759 --> 00:17:28.359
You it shall come from me, missus.
254
00:17:28.119 --> 00:17:32.720
Chalmers, one had better come from Jilnsey too, Mister Rodriges, Well,
255
00:17:32.759 --> 00:17:34.799
I tell the Mexican police that you left him in
256
00:17:34.880 --> 00:17:38.960
the mountains with those man eating goods you've got around here.
257
00:17:42.920 --> 00:17:46.720
You are both very clever. Good night.
258
00:18:00.400 --> 00:18:03.960
Back to Counterspy and just a moment, but first test.
259
00:18:04.000 --> 00:18:06.839
Collars take the spots, two four glasses, that's the.
260
00:18:06.960 --> 00:18:10.240
Lost lots more value, that's more debt. Why take less
261
00:18:10.279 --> 00:18:11.480
when Pepsi's that's.
262
00:18:11.440 --> 00:18:12.000
More and more?
263
00:18:12.039 --> 00:18:14.759
Among fellows and girls, among mothers and dads. You hear
264
00:18:14.880 --> 00:18:19.200
that scene and sensible question, Why take less when Pepsi's best,
265
00:18:19.880 --> 00:18:22.720
no budgets, no allowance ever had a better friend than
266
00:18:22.880 --> 00:18:26.960
tangy sparkling pets Cola. Because one big twelve out Pepsi
267
00:18:27.039 --> 00:18:30.480
bottle gives you two delicious drinks that's twice as much
268
00:18:30.559 --> 00:18:34.119
tangy taste twice as much delicious, Pepsi to go just
269
00:18:34.279 --> 00:18:37.720
twice as far. That's why more and more families say,
270
00:18:38.279 --> 00:18:42.319
why take less when Pepsi's best. Yes, family is like
271
00:18:42.440 --> 00:18:46.480
yours and mine. Families all over America they're all saying,
272
00:18:47.039 --> 00:18:51.599
why take less? When Pepsi's best testiclas.
273
00:18:50.759 --> 00:18:53.519
So delicious and his bottle makes two drinks? It is
274
00:18:53.599 --> 00:18:55.559
certainly the cola for the purchase.
275
00:18:55.799 --> 00:18:59.720
Who thinks everybody's thinking Testy does compare us with the rest.
276
00:19:00.039 --> 00:19:01.160
Small Thomas Spiner?
277
00:19:01.240 --> 00:19:01.920
Why take last?
278
00:19:01.960 --> 00:19:02.079
One?
279
00:19:02.160 --> 00:19:07.000
Petty debt today tomorrow? Always get America's biggest call about you?
280
00:19:07.480 --> 00:19:11.039
Take Holm of carton of six big big Petsi bottles,
281
00:19:11.640 --> 00:19:15.799
Insist on Petsi at the store and say Pepsi Apple fountain,
282
00:19:16.240 --> 00:19:21.039
Stay Petsi app of sand, Say Pepsi whenever you reach
283
00:19:21.079 --> 00:19:21.920
for refreshments.
284
00:19:22.119 --> 00:19:27.519
Remember why take last? When Petsi's debt? And now back
285
00:19:27.559 --> 00:19:28.359
to Counterspy.
286
00:19:29.000 --> 00:19:39.440
It is hot blazing noon in the desert mountains of Mexico, Nriguez.
287
00:19:39.799 --> 00:19:43.920
We're forty miles from any other human beings. Here's where
288
00:19:43.960 --> 00:19:49.440
I've set up the experiment. It'll be fairly said, how you.
289
00:19:49.559 --> 00:19:52.680
Dropped the uranium compound plus the other ingredients in the fuse.
290
00:19:53.920 --> 00:19:57.680
Have you ready, mister Johnes, look at the birds of
291
00:19:57.839 --> 00:19:59.279
prey such in above.
292
00:19:59.160 --> 00:20:02.519
In the atis g. I guess we look like a
293
00:20:02.680 --> 00:20:05.400
meal to them, and we call them birds of death.
294
00:20:06.359 --> 00:20:09.079
They're cruel, powerful, bloodthirsty.
295
00:20:10.680 --> 00:20:14.119
If you try to cheat me, mister Jones, I will
296
00:20:14.200 --> 00:20:16.359
break both your legs with bullets and.
297
00:20:16.559 --> 00:20:19.720
Leave you here alive. For those.
298
00:20:21.920 --> 00:20:32.519
Cute ideas. You have something light the fuse? Now run,
299
00:20:32.559 --> 00:20:33.279
we have eight seconds.
300
00:20:35.759 --> 00:20:59.759
Wait, mister Dawns, thyself help here helping you. I apologize
301
00:20:59.759 --> 00:21:02.519
them of patience. I will have the money for you
302
00:21:02.640 --> 00:21:05.759
in forty eight hours. Where your ranch.
303
00:21:05.519 --> 00:21:08.359
House fine, and I'll be ready to show you where
304
00:21:08.359 --> 00:21:30.759
the material is. Until then, there's the Jones. I'm driving away, Come.
305
00:21:30.640 --> 00:21:37.359
On out, I thought to he saw that wire unto
306
00:21:37.400 --> 00:21:40.279
the battery as he luckily for us and agree making
307
00:21:40.359 --> 00:21:40.839
him blind.
308
00:21:41.400 --> 00:21:43.480
What if he followed us out here last night when
309
00:21:43.519 --> 00:21:45.559
we set up this take your rain and.
310
00:21:45.640 --> 00:21:48.799
Explosion When he fell down, he was really scared. He
311
00:21:48.960 --> 00:21:50.440
never suspected to take.
312
00:21:50.440 --> 00:21:55.039
But off of this please sence worth of harmless powder,
313
00:21:55.200 --> 00:21:56.079
posing the grain.
314
00:21:56.880 --> 00:21:58.640
It's charges of ordinary t n T.
315
00:21:59.000 --> 00:22:02.200
Stop worrying law. We've got rad Rigguez hooked. Come on,
316
00:22:02.319 --> 00:22:03.119
let's get to our ranch.
317
00:22:12.680 --> 00:22:15.039
Fans twice may be great, jells you, but I don't.
318
00:22:14.920 --> 00:22:16.519
Like cooked another day to wait.
319
00:22:16.839 --> 00:22:20.039
Well, that's all you want Mexican beans, Mexican beans.
320
00:22:20.119 --> 00:22:21.440
I'd rather have Mexican bean.
321
00:22:21.839 --> 00:22:22.519
That's all we got.
322
00:22:24.319 --> 00:22:30.799
Put out the line out the back window. That's how
323
00:22:30.839 --> 00:22:33.039
somebody coming as ahead of time.
324
00:22:33.680 --> 00:22:36.839
Get me on the doorway to the dining room. I'll
325
00:22:36.880 --> 00:22:59.920
stay here. You couple me with your gun, mister Joe.
326
00:23:01.960 --> 00:23:05.759
Yeah, I'm David Harding, and I to say counters five.
327
00:23:07.079 --> 00:23:09.759
Yeah, I come in. Can't stop you can I?
328
00:23:14.200 --> 00:23:14.440
Hello?
329
00:23:15.160 --> 00:23:17.720
Yes, okay, I like to come on him.
330
00:23:20.720 --> 00:23:22.039
A glad Hello.
331
00:23:22.240 --> 00:23:24.839
I'm sorry to put you to through this rigamarole David
332
00:23:24.960 --> 00:23:27.079
Rodriguez around fifty versus the best motto.
333
00:23:27.200 --> 00:23:30.599
I here, I'm mister Jones. Can we use the short
334
00:23:30.680 --> 00:23:31.279
wave radio?
335
00:23:31.359 --> 00:23:31.720
All right?
336
00:23:31.839 --> 00:23:31.960
Them?
337
00:23:32.160 --> 00:23:33.440
Harding hid in the color.
338
00:23:38.160 --> 00:23:39.960
I want the Mexican Secret Police from court of a.
339
00:23:40.079 --> 00:23:46.400
What's the frequency? Tennelly teams herding to f X channel eighteen.
340
00:23:47.160 --> 00:23:59.240
Come in channel eighteen. Hello, Ladriguez has fallen by cock
341
00:23:59.279 --> 00:23:59.519
and bull.
342
00:23:59.559 --> 00:24:02.960
Story. But that's stole an uranium. All we need is
343
00:24:03.039 --> 00:24:03.720
one break so.
344
00:24:03.759 --> 00:24:06.079
We can get other people to talk to us about Rodriguez.
345
00:24:06.720 --> 00:24:10.880
You better stand by and take thy need help now,
346
00:24:11.359 --> 00:24:22.599
Washington hunting the channel one, Come in channel one. Channel
347
00:24:23.480 --> 00:24:25.400
go ahead Edward from.
348
00:24:25.319 --> 00:24:27.720
Now on Pieter's channel open twenty four hours a day.
349
00:24:27.880 --> 00:24:31.960
I may want instantaneous check on fingerprints. I'm with Peters
350
00:24:32.000 --> 00:24:34.599
in La in Mexico and their ranch house. I blew
351
00:24:34.640 --> 00:24:37.319
in this morning when things got hot. We're getting the
352
00:24:37.359 --> 00:24:41.160
best line yet on our old friend Rodriguez, the espionized brooker.
353
00:24:43.519 --> 00:24:45.440
He's got a baited hook out for him. But with
354
00:24:45.519 --> 00:24:47.400
that man, I'm not going to wait for him to bike.
355
00:24:47.720 --> 00:24:49.359
I'm going to time up down his stroke.
356
00:25:08.839 --> 00:25:18.640
Kenyan, tell so lady's night.
357
00:25:18.799 --> 00:25:19.680
How do you think you talk?
358
00:25:20.240 --> 00:25:23.519
What happened? I had a fight with John, You know,
359
00:25:23.640 --> 00:25:24.000
my god?
360
00:25:24.480 --> 00:25:26.799
I want him with a paper. Did I tell him
361
00:25:26.839 --> 00:25:27.440
please help me?
362
00:25:27.920 --> 00:25:30.839
Of the cordailer? Where did you leave him?
363
00:25:30.960 --> 00:25:31.119
Back?
364
00:25:31.160 --> 00:25:31.319
And all?
365
00:25:31.799 --> 00:25:33.319
He's gonna bloody?
366
00:25:34.119 --> 00:25:34.920
He said, because I.
367
00:25:34.880 --> 00:25:35.759
Don't know what I'm going to do.
368
00:25:36.680 --> 00:25:39.319
My dear Ella, I look after you, look.
369
00:25:39.200 --> 00:25:40.319
At police and may discover the.
370
00:25:40.359 --> 00:25:41.119
Murder and look for me.
371
00:25:41.720 --> 00:25:45.920
It need be. I can hide you forever of Firse,
372
00:25:46.039 --> 00:25:49.079
don't by. I don't want to go back to you.
373
00:25:50.359 --> 00:25:50.720
My dear.
374
00:25:50.880 --> 00:25:55.119
I was planning to buy that ring and confound Nah
375
00:25:55.319 --> 00:25:56.799
can't you and I get it?
376
00:25:56.920 --> 00:26:12.240
For nothing comes dark in there?
377
00:26:12.480 --> 00:26:12.680
I know.
378
00:26:12.839 --> 00:26:14.880
I cut the light and telephone right when I left
379
00:26:15.160 --> 00:26:18.920
the candle. Yes, yes, there's one beside. You're on a piano.
380
00:26:20.079 --> 00:26:20.279
Ah.
381
00:26:27.119 --> 00:26:31.480
Yes, our friends mister will live, don't you lie? But
382
00:26:31.680 --> 00:26:36.200
not very much alive now the Uranium Company. I know
383
00:26:36.279 --> 00:26:37.279
where I couldn't get it.
384
00:26:37.599 --> 00:26:38.480
It's the moment.
385
00:26:41.519 --> 00:26:45.920
Hidden behind a picture on the wall. What an obvious place.
386
00:26:45.759 --> 00:26:48.440
It would say. You're the only one that even knew
387
00:26:48.480 --> 00:26:51.880
we had nothing. I have it here. That's how you
388
00:26:51.960 --> 00:26:52.359
handle it.
389
00:26:54.240 --> 00:26:57.920
Now to arrange matters for you, you.
390
00:26:57.920 --> 00:27:00.920
Will leave all your clothes here except what you actually need.
391
00:27:02.279 --> 00:27:04.599
From the shallow grave of a woman I had to
392
00:27:06.279 --> 00:27:09.599
dispose of not far from here, I won't do.
393
00:27:11.559 --> 00:27:11.599
It.
394
00:27:11.839 --> 00:27:15.200
Was enough mind being impersonated by the bones of a
395
00:27:15.359 --> 00:27:15.880
dead woman.
396
00:27:16.839 --> 00:27:21.279
I don't see it, and we will Manster split up
397
00:27:21.359 --> 00:27:26.799
the booking the middle, for instance, what are you doing
398
00:27:27.440 --> 00:27:28.279
planning your desk?
399
00:27:28.319 --> 00:27:28.759
Miss come?
400
00:27:29.240 --> 00:27:33.519
I got it gone Madrid it your parents in this
401
00:27:33.720 --> 00:27:37.519
house burnt out by an accidental fire, always you had
402
00:27:37.599 --> 00:27:39.359
on my vans until we go to Europe.
403
00:27:39.599 --> 00:27:42.680
Secretly, that's out the finnicopment for John.
404
00:27:43.079 --> 00:27:45.640
Kill him before you set the fire, of course without
405
00:27:45.680 --> 00:27:48.079
a bookings.
406
00:27:51.240 --> 00:27:55.759
For the United States, Mexican national pendulous one card, violating
407
00:27:55.799 --> 00:27:58.759
of the International Agreement covering the Safety of Atomic Material
408
00:27:58.799 --> 00:27:59.440
and Information.
409
00:27:59.640 --> 00:28:01.839
I was not and this alone, this woman.
410
00:28:01.880 --> 00:28:04.119
This man John right away, juntie, okay.
411
00:28:04.359 --> 00:28:06.559
Fine, only tired and lying on the floor.
412
00:28:07.279 --> 00:28:10.680
Meet mister Jones. Oh let's call him Harry Peters, my assistant.
413
00:28:11.039 --> 00:28:13.240
But you'll have no evidence. No one will have to
414
00:28:13.240 --> 00:28:15.119
speak again. You're a murderer.
415
00:28:15.400 --> 00:28:18.240
You kept people silent by peer. The guvernment and narcotics
416
00:28:18.279 --> 00:28:21.119
runners who worked for you were afraid to talk. Now
417
00:28:21.200 --> 00:28:22.799
that you're on to a rusbe will be free to
418
00:28:22.880 --> 00:28:23.880
tell everything they know.
419
00:28:24.079 --> 00:28:26.720
By the way, mister hard and here's the uranium that
420
00:28:27.480 --> 00:28:29.640
talk he earned that la let him keeep it.
421
00:28:29.839 --> 00:28:32.759
It's only a few cents full of harmless powder. I'm sorry,
422
00:28:33.599 --> 00:28:36.839
but illegal possession of uranium is the one charge.
423
00:28:36.640 --> 00:28:37.640
We can't hang on you.
424
00:28:50.200 --> 00:28:53.480

00:29:35.960 --> 00:29:39.200
counter spy case of a bouncing bank robber.
436
00:29:39.960 --> 00:29:43.960
The quick shooting intruder who power plants through a place
437
00:29:44.119 --> 00:29:48.839
glass window, the ferry boat that swistled a sling message
438
00:29:49.359 --> 00:29:53.400
about the passenger who had jumped overboard, and the roller
439
00:29:53.480 --> 00:29:57.799
coaster in reverse that carry the killer who was beyond
440
00:29:57.960 --> 00:30:02.799
the electric care next to these counterpy gmes, so'll be
441
00:30:02.880 --> 00:30:03.720
sure to listen.
442
00:30:03.799 --> 00:30:17.000
Case of a bouncing bank robber on Counterspy. The night's
443
00:30:17.039 --> 00:30:20.839
Counterspy program, originated in New York, was directed by William M.
444
00:30:20.960 --> 00:30:24.880
Sweet and featured Don McLaughlin and Mandelle Kramer with music
445
00:30:24.960 --> 00:30:28.880
by Testy Crawford. Counterspy is a Phillip States Lord production
446
00:30:29.039 --> 00:30:33.519
for Pets Coola. Enjoy Some Pepsy, Ice, Cold Tonight.
447
00:31:15.119 --> 00:31:19.480
Welcome Back. I love the counter Spy gives us these
448
00:31:19.759 --> 00:31:25.759
good sting stories where they are laying traps for criminals.
449
00:31:25.880 --> 00:31:28.559
And it's also nice to get a story that is
450
00:31:28.839 --> 00:31:34.839
much more Peter's driven and Peters centered, because that does
451
00:31:35.039 --> 00:31:40.240
feel more like how a real life agency like Counterspo
452
00:31:40.359 --> 00:31:43.039
should work. You know, you didn't have j Edgar Hoover,
453
00:31:44.440 --> 00:31:48.000
you know, running all of the FBI's cases during this time,
454
00:31:48.279 --> 00:31:50.400
which is kind of the equivalent of what we have
455
00:31:50.559 --> 00:31:54.799
in so many episodes of Counterspy. And even then, David
456
00:31:54.920 --> 00:31:57.759
Harding still is probably taking a bit of a bigger
457
00:31:57.880 --> 00:32:02.759
role than Hoover or even some higher ranking like special
458
00:32:02.839 --> 00:32:07.519
agents in charge Wood. But Harding remains such a solid
459
00:32:07.640 --> 00:32:13.599
planner that you can understand why he essentially had counterstoff
460
00:32:13.839 --> 00:32:18.240
by agents pretend to be criminals pretending to be Counterspy agents.
461
00:32:18.519 --> 00:32:22.319
Kramer definitely is able to carry the material, and you
462
00:32:22.440 --> 00:32:26.119
do see the makings of how he became such an
463
00:32:26.160 --> 00:32:31.079
important leading man in the closing days of the Golden
464
00:32:31.119 --> 00:32:34.440
