ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Ontario’s energy future is one of the province’s biggest challenges (and opportunities).
In this episode of Commerce Talks, we explore how Ontario can build an energy system that supports economic growth, growing communities, and climate goals at the same time.
As electrification accelerates across advanced manufacturing, transportation, AI, data centres, mining, and population growth, Ontario faces rising electricity demand and mounting pressure on its energy infrastructure.
With one of the cleanest electricity grids in the world, the province has a major advantage — but keeping that advantage will require timely investment in generation, transmission, distribution, regulatory coordination, and long-term planning.
Host Daniel Tisch, President & CEO, Ontario Chamber of Commerce, and a group of panellists discuss what it will take to power Ontario’s next chapter, including the choices, trade-offs, and opportunities ahead for business, government, utilities, Indigenous partners, and communities.
Panellists:
- Jessica Linthorne, President & CEO, Nuclear Innovation Institute
- Priya Tandon, President, Ontario Mining Association
- Karey Anne Large, CEO, Whitby Chamber of Commerce
