What happens when doctors know what their patients need, but the healthcare system stands in their way? A new report from Physicians for a National Health Program suggests the consequences can be profound.

Among more than 1,200 physicians surveyed, 68% reported moderate or severe distress over being unable to provide the best possible care. More than one in four had already left a job because of moral distress.
