Speaker 1: Cleveland Browns Daily, brought to you by Bally Bett coming soon to Ohio on eight fifty ESPN Cleveland.
00:00:14
Speaker 2: All right, welcome you to Cleveland Brown's Daily. Let's go right to the podium dependsive coordinator Jim.
00:00:18
Speaker 3: Schwartz, and you know, try to take the fight to him as opposed to sitting back and you know, trying to hem him in.
00:00:29
Speaker 4: What do you make of the turnover number right now?
00:00:33
Speaker 5: Doesn't bother you to care less?
00:00:35
Speaker 3: You guys are really scraping for criticisms. You know, we're trying to win the game. We're trying to keep the points down, trying to set our offense up in good field position. You know, I think it's a little bit like first question. You know, like you know, you can overcorrect on you know, trying to be whatever whatever the word is, and two disciplined isn't a good word. But you can err on the side of caution with a guy like Lamar Jackson and that can get him free. You can overcorrect on turnovers, and you can give up a lot more big plays and toning the big play we've given up the whole year was probably a result of guys that were trying to jump a play, feeling that they need to make play instead of let the defense work.
00:01:23
Speaker 6: We're just gonna let the defense work.
00:01:25
Speaker 3: We're going to try to play physical, We're going to try to play fast, and you know, and then we'll, you know, see what happens after that. But you know, we're going to be around the football, and good things will happen when you're around football.
00:01:38
Speaker 5: What seems to be some of the hallmarks or characteristics of their offense under Todd Monk and what is he bringing to them.
00:01:45
Speaker 3: You know, there's still a lot of carryover from last year, you know, particularly run game and quarterback run game, but you know, probably a little bit more emphasis on some of the drop back game. You know, his completion percent is just way up. They're trying to, you know, get high percentage completions, get the ball out of his hand fairly quickly. But you know that that goes, that goes, you know, both ways. It gets it comes out of his hand a little bit faster. But sometimes he's really dangerous when he's holding the ball a long time, making guys missing and making big plays down the field. So you know, there's there's still a lot of carryover from years past. You know, and I think with coach har Ball there he's not going to let it get too far away from his philosophy. And you know, their effort to be physical and control the game with the run game. So you know there, there's there's a lot of stuff there and you know, well have to be ready for a lot of different personnel packages. They they use different packages within personnel packages and things like that, so you know, we'll match it a lot of different ways, either.
00:02:55
Speaker 7: Going over you know, breaking down the maar. You see shaken off two with three tacklers, looks like he's wrapped up, but he's not wrapped up.
00:03:05
Speaker 8: What are you telling your your your players.
00:03:09
Speaker 7: About those situations and why is he such a difficult player to break down?
00:03:14
Speaker 3: Well, because he's one of the best athletes in the NFL and it just happens to play a quarterback position. So you know, if we saw running backs doing that, we wouldn't you know, we wouldn't bat an eye. You know, we got to tackle him like he's a running back, tackle him like he's a wide receiver. Just because the balls in his hand doesn't mean that he's still not a you know, a threat to run. So you know, I think that that probably that probably has a lot to do with it. And you know, we're gonna try to be physical. You know, if he does run, we're going to try to play our game and you know, put some hits on him and you know those kind of things. But you know, you got to tackle him like he's a running back.
00:03:56
Speaker 6: And you know, if.
00:03:57
Speaker 3: You if you half step, if you play too cautious, or you know, a guy like that, if he pumps you off your feet, you know we're not playing good defense if you see guys leave their feet on the quarterback right, because he's just gonna pull it and he's going to fly past and he's going to make a big play.
00:04:13
Speaker 6: So we get to stay on our feet.
00:04:14
Speaker 3: We had to tackle through his mid section and we got to get him on the ground like he's.
00:04:18
Speaker 6: A running back.
00:04:19
Speaker 9: What can you say about Miles this three and a half sad game and just how dominant he's appeared to be from.
00:04:24
Speaker 3: Start to finish in that game. No, I think there's still meat on the bone, to tell you the truth, I think you know there's still there's still times. You know, we haven't gotten we haven't played a lot of snaps because we've been getting off the field on third down, so that hasn't given the guys, you know, a lot of opportunities to rush. But they're still hitting the quarterback a bunch and you know, things like that. So you know, sacks are great, and we want to get sacks, but you know, you know it, sometimes a great pass rush doesn't equal a sack. Sometimes the ball can be thrown quick and it be an incomplete pass. Sometimes times, you know, sometimes it can.
00:05:02
Speaker 6: Be a you know, a tipped ball.
00:05:04
Speaker 3: You know, there's a lot of different ways, and you know, as long as the defense works, that's what we're looking for. You know, Miles was the beneficiar area a couple times of Zidarius. Zidarius flushed a quarterback and you know, had a chance to maybe get a safety on that one, but Miles was there to clean them up. And you know, we're about the group up front, you know, and and Miles is a great player, but we get a lot of great players up front, and we're trying to produce as a group, and we have an unselfish group. They don't make it about one person. We don't make it about one person. We try to get the job done, whether it's Alex Wright or Miles or Obo or Z or Jordan or you know, whoever's in there. You guys know, we play a lot of guys up front. We have a high standard and you know, they all celebrate each other's success.
00:05:51
Speaker 6: As long as we stay on that track, we'll be fine.
00:05:53
Speaker 3: Not worrying about you know, guys, individual stats and things like that.
00:05:58
Speaker 2: Do you think we're the type to the too tight tech over the two tight.
00:06:01
Speaker 6: Ends and Miles was going back and forth.
00:06:03
Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, I saw that when I was in Detroit as head coach, whole team do that. Calvin Johnson put two guys in vice over him, and you know, sometimes you never you know, it's like wow, first time ever saw that, you know, and and teams follow, you know, but that's you know, we have the ability to be able to give Miles the freedom to you know, move away from some of those situations. And I think you just saw that they were trying to tail them. We were trying to get away from it. They ran out of the clock, you know, so you know, and at that point of the game, taking a time out was pretty critical, you know, because you know, if I was we seventeen up at that point, but.
00:06:42
Speaker 6: Timeouts were critical. It's fourth quarter.
00:06:44
Speaker 3: Timeouts are critical, so you know the effectiveness of that, and then having a good effective pass rush on the other play.
00:06:51
Speaker 6: You know, when it's all said and done, you.
00:06:53
Speaker 3: Know whether Miles was dribbling or they're chasing two tight ends across him, or you know what. Ever, it's what happens after the snap that's the most important. And you know, you know, we gotta cover, we gotta rush, we gotta stop the run, we gotta stay after this quarterback.
00:07:10
Speaker 6: We do those things, we'll be happy.
00:07:13
Speaker 4: Mich Lamarin is equally a depth at running or throwing.
00:07:18
Speaker 6: Do you try to take one away now?
00:07:21
Speaker 3: We just we just try to play our schemes the best we can and play good team defense. And like always, we try to put an effort or an emphasis on relentless effort and speed and physical toughness and some passion for the game. And you know, if we do those things, then that'll be enough to stop a dual threat at quarterback for the first of the games.
00:07:47
Speaker 10: How do you think the guys have responded to some of the in game adjustments you've tried to make to them, and how crucial is that going to be going against a team like the Ravens on Sunday.
00:07:55
Speaker 3: You know, there's always things that you adjust here and there, and you know, generally it's like we just showed this, let's give him something else off of that. Or it might even be the opposite. It might be making no adjustments. It's like, hey, look, let's keep bringing it they until they stop it. So I don't know, you know, I honestly, I half the time, I can't remember what goes on during the game. I'm just sort of in the zone and not really thinking about that stuff. And you know, you're anticipating the next move. You're trying to communicate to your players, You're trying to you know, correct anything that came up. You're trying to get them ready for the next series and things that you're going to call. And you know, I think they've done a good job of responding to those kind of things.
00:08:40
Speaker 2: You mentioned Thearis earlier.
00:08:42
Speaker 5: What is he brought to that room from a not only on.
00:08:46
Speaker 2: The field, but also just a personality standpoint.
00:08:48
Speaker 3: Yeah, he's a veteran player, he's tough, He's had a lot of success in the league, you know, and he's done it in you know, a little bit of a different scheme. This is new for right, you know. I mean we talk a lot of time about defensive lineman. I mean I still remember, you know, way back in Greenbrier. You know, he got up on one of the plays and he was jamming a wide receiver and you know, he was playing three four outside linebackers. I go, yoh yo, that's not us, you know, And you know, and and he's he's taken to it really well. You know, the first play of the season, you know, he just goes and we get that hit on the quarterback, beats the beats the tight end across the ball, and I thought that really set the tone for us. And you know, he's an experienced guy. He helps the younger players out. He's good against the run, end the pass. He's been a great acquisition for us.
00:09:41
Speaker 10: What's the key to this defense continuing to play well consistently weekend and week out, no matter.
00:09:47
Speaker 8: Who the opponent is.
00:09:49
Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, I think I think that's probably the answer is in the question. You know, we just got to take it on a week by week basis, and you know, we got to put our eyes on the next opponent and not what we've done the past and not what we're going to do a month from now or you know, two months from now.
00:10:05
Speaker 6: Let's live in the moment.
00:10:06
Speaker 3: Let's you know, let's practice hard, let's meet well, let's prepare well, and let's go out and perform well on a Sunday and just keep doing that and you know, we can keep stacking nose. Don't worry about what's happened in the past, don't worry about what's happened.
00:10:23
Speaker 6: In the future.
00:10:23
Speaker 3: You know, I think that you can get derailed a little bit in this league sometimes with success. You know, sometimes success is harder to deal with than than failure. You know, a lot of guys can bounce back really quickly from failure.
00:10:37
Speaker 6: You know.
00:10:39
Speaker 3: You know, there's a you know, there's a human nature to your pride and you get beat and you know you want to come back and you want to correct that and things like that. But you know, sometimes it's it's hardest when you are experiencing success to you know, to not get off track.
00:10:58
Speaker 6: And that's my job. My job was to make.
00:11:00
Speaker 3: Sure that you know that we don't you know, that we stay focused on on what we have to do, and you know, and in that moment as opposed to you know, what our stats are and everything else, because when it's all said and done, our stats are two and one, right, I mean, that's what it is. Our stats are two and one, and we're playing a two and one team. Some team is going to be.
00:11:22
Speaker 6: Three and one.
00:11:23
Speaker 3: Let's keep our eyes on that, and let's let's you know, let league rankings and pro football focus and all that stuff. We'll just let that just stay where it is, and you know, we'll concentrate on what we have to do that week. And if we can keep our guys focused on that, and I like our guys that way too. They respond really well and they're not thin skinned. It's hard to play defense for us if you're thin skinned. So there's some course corrections. There was a course correction last week. We were we needed a course correction and get our minds right for a running back that was coming to town, and the players responded well to it. And you know there's going to be those things, but let's keep our eyes on what's happening right now, and let's not worry about, you know, where we rank, or where we're going to rank or all those things. Let's just try to win a football game. Let's keep the score down. Let's try to set our offense up. Let's bring some passion to the game. Let's get our fans excited. Let's get our home field going and make it hard for opponents to play here, let them be part of it.
00:12:23
Speaker 6: And I think if we do those things, then we'll be successful.
00:12:26
Speaker 11: That's what you active last week. But the first two games is what you've seen from him. And Denzel said, you know today, I think he's like the best slot corner in the NFL, and your thoughts sometimes too.
00:12:37
Speaker 6: I guess, yeah, he's in the consideration there.
00:12:39
Speaker 3: You know, he can play outside inside, gives us that, you know, functionality to move him around, you know, and he can match up quicker guys, he can mac up, match up stronger guys. You know, I thought Cam did a good job in his place. Not perfect, but did a good job in his place. You know, we had miscommunication on one where we gave up a completion that was you know, pregame warm up completion, but you know, I mean rookies make mistakes. He corrected it and you know, then came back. But I thought Cam did a good job stepping in and that's what we need. You know, Ronnie Hickman went in the opener on very short notice and did the same thing. So we're going to continue to have guys step up like that. But it is nice to have Greg back on the practice field.
00:13:22
Speaker 6: You know. We'll see where he gets to by Sunday.
00:13:27
Speaker 2: All right, there's your defensive coordinator, Jim Schwartz at the podium. Welcome in. Let me do it live on a Thursday.
00:13:33
Speaker 8: Tremendous coordinator, tremendous orator.
00:13:37
Speaker 2: I like it. I mean I think if you think of like the great orators of our time or of any time. Sure, I mean you think about Kato. I mean you want to go way back Marcus Aurelius. Jim Schwartz, Yeah, I like it. It's right there.
00:13:55
Speaker 8: I like it. Cicero Cicero, sure.
00:13:58
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's he's fun, man, it's fun. I liked direct answers to direct questions sometimes even not a lot to look for boys scraping the barrel on that one.
00:14:11
Speaker 8: Huh.
00:14:12
Speaker 2: That's fun. It's great.
00:14:13
Speaker 8: Only two takeaways were like historically great, we're doing fine, yea. The crazy thing about the season is the one game that where he did get takeaways in Yeah, we got two of them lost and gave up Well defense did not, but no they get okay, so they get thirteen. Right as a defense, they've wven up six in the other two games. Yeah, it was crazy when in getting ready, you know, I do always put the snap counts from the previous week for both teams on my on the board so I can get a look at it. So mj Emerson played m j Emerson and wan Thornhill and delp It played every single defensive snap that we had last game. Okay, there were forty five of them.
00:14:53
Speaker 2: There were only forty five defensive snaps.
00:14:55
Speaker 8: In the game. Yeah, forty five, and we had seventy one on offense.
00:15:01
Speaker 5: It's kinda say, so we're saying they're going to be fresh, Yeah, we're going to be fresh the yeah.
00:15:08
Speaker 8: And then if you flip it around conversely, because the Ravens just went to ot, their defense played eighty four snaps. Yeah a week ago, so our defense played forty just about forty four snaps than their defense.
00:15:22
Speaker 2: Plays have what we played against what they played againt Cincinnati, because there was a lot of three and out in that one too.
00:15:28
Speaker 8: I would on the other one last week I can tell you this is for the Pittsburgh game. We only were on the field for fifty four.
00:15:36
Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's I would think Cincinnati would be even less.
00:15:39
Speaker 8: And we ran eighty seven offensive plays against Pittsburgh.
00:15:43
Speaker 2: Oh god, that one is so plus thirty in plays plus thirty in plays and you live.
00:15:49
Speaker 8: Yeah, ridiculous.
00:15:50
Speaker 3: Sucks.
00:15:50
Speaker 2: We'll make it right with a win Sunday against the Rams. His it's it's the most recent best example that I can come up with, or that I can think of, of a coach's personality meshing and kind of unlocking the personalities of the players he coaches. The best example that I can think about it is probably Urban in twenty twelve at Ohio State, where he got there and all of a sudden it was like, Oh, what those guys were capable of was unearthed. This is what this feels like like. We had a lot. I mean, just think about we had Denzel war I don't know if we have it in the show, but he was talking today and just how confident he is outwardly. And some of those guys had it anyway, like Emerson had it anyway. Knwsome had it anyway. But even the way Miles is going about his business. We've never seen Miles has been so great. He's never been this chesty, this confident, this yea, you know, and that's what you want when you're playing defense. His his confidence in his scheme is pulling that out of them.
00:16:47
Speaker 8: You're exactly right, Miles Garrett has been phenomenal. This defense has been nothing short of sensational. And you know, you talk about the confidence guys playing with. You know, Denzel Ward's given up on the season, you know, just fifty percent completions when targeted coverage. He has five passes defensed already, five passes defense. When you think about that, you say yourself, well, wait a second, five passes defense, that's good, type for third in the NFL. You're right, very very very good. How often are teams even throwing at him? Right like that feels like a reasonable question to ask yourself, how often our team's even throwing at Denzel Warden. The answer is, honestly, not that often. So when you think about five pass breakups in the midst of not getting targeted a ton in coverage, that becomes crazy. So the exact number is they've thrown twenty passes his direction. Basically one of every four passes they've thrown in his direction have been broken up, which is why that they're testing him. Nobody else on the team's been seen more than twelve targets. You know who has it's m j Emerson. How about this. M j Emerson is allowing one reception for every twenty nine snaps in coverage this year, which is the best in the NFL. Second place is one every twenty five snaps. He is giving up a twenty five percent completion when targeted and a thirty nine quarterback rating when targeted.
00:18:08
Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it's all.
00:18:10
Speaker 8: And you can get to the quarterback. You've got Miles, You've got Obo, You've got Zadarius who doesn't have a sack yet. But it's around the quarner there all the time, all the time. All the Mohurst is getting around the quarterback all the time. This team Alex Wright got home as right.
00:18:25
Speaker 2: Yeah, No, it's yeah, it's special. I had a at a submission for a a nickname for the UH and they want to tie in Lake Erie was the hope was like the the the eerie part of it, like the Erie wall.
00:18:41
Speaker 8: I haven't heard one that, I mean Junkyard Dogs, I get it. But yeah, that's that's yeah, all right, what is it?
00:18:46
Speaker 2: It was like Eerie Wall, the Great Wall of Erie or something like that, And I don't know if that's going to get it done. So I mean that there's people are throwing stuff out there. It's gonna have elves.
00:18:55
Speaker 8: I don't know.
00:18:56
Speaker 2: Yeah, that's not gonna work. Yeah, Junkyard Dogs is the easiest. But but it would be something. If you think about the Great Ones, it's usually something that is geographically tied into, So that would be be nice if there was something that we could tie into there too.
00:19:10
Speaker 8: Bad orange Crush is taken because I feel like that's what we kind of are right now. We're an orange crush.
00:19:14
Speaker 2: A little bit, Yeah, a little bit. The Lake Erie Monsters would be pretty good if there wasn't a team named that, a minor league hockey team, because it's pretty that's a good one. Yeah, that's good for sure, like a lock of that s monster. Yeah that is very good.
00:19:27
Speaker 4: All right.
00:19:28
Speaker 2: Coming up next, we'll get you an update from practice and an update onto Shaun Watson's health and the health of his shoulder. Roquan Smith just throwing bombs.
00:19:36
Speaker 8: Can you believe that.
00:19:39
Speaker 2: For all of it. It is a mail big Thursday tweet is your questions at Brown's Underscore Daily, and we will get to those later in the show. It is also a matchup Thursday addition, so we will do our offense versus their defense. Advice versa gets your fantasy tips as well, and we got a Thursday night or This is the best of the primetime games by far, so a lot of fun here on the program. We're oft running Cleveland Brown's Daily eight fifty ESPN Cleveland.
00:20:10
Speaker 1: Coming to you live from the Cross Country Mortgage Campus in Barrio, Ohio. This is Cleveland Browns Daily, brought to you by bally Bet, coming soon to Ohio on eight fifty ESPN Cleveland. Here are your hosts, Bo Bishop and Nathan Zegura.
00:20:31
Speaker 2: All right, welcome to ktting Cleveland Browns Daily, brought you by bally Bet sports betting partner, your Cleveland Browns now live in Ohio on a fifty ESPN Cleveland. How'd you do last night? How was the uh? How was the show? It was big time? Yeah, so much larger than life, so much larger than life.
00:20:45
Speaker 8: It was a good show. You played a lot of his new stuff that I didn't know. But he's got like a pretty I mean you play, yeah, you played the hits, he got Big Time, You got in Your Eyes was the first encore. You got Salisbury Hill, you got Sledgehammer Good, you got Bico with He ended with Pico the whole thing, which was pretty sweet about the guy the activists in South Africa who his murder was kind of the spark that kind of brought down apartheid. So it was good. Obviously, maybe about eight thousand, not a full house, and it.
00:21:16
Speaker 2: Was a queue at the queue. Yeah, probably a different venue would have been more appropriate for that. It was a stadium. I mean that's it was.
00:21:24
Speaker 8: A very homogeneous crowd. It was a very very Kale and I were outside of the classic demographic by a good margin, one of you more than the other, even you have one ten years more, he would say. But it was it was good, and we went down there, had a great meal at Aquaedeluca, great meal, like incredible in honor of the ha. So we got the made which is their big seafood platter. It's in this like kind of like a kind of like a linguini with clam sauce. I would say it's all kind of sitting and you get the King crab, the lobster, scampies, the shrimp, the scallops, the muscles, the clams, the calamari. It was plenty for four and you wanted to dip your bread. That's auso was so good. And then I got an elk shank and honor the hot it was.
00:22:12
Speaker 2: It was unreal, of course it was great.
00:22:14
Speaker 8: It was great.
00:22:15
Speaker 2: Oh that's fantastic.
00:22:16
Speaker 8: Yeah, elks they got and Danny got a They had a wag you asibuco going. That was it was quite so, quite delicious, and uh, miss Kay got a veal chop which was one of the best juiciest veal chops I've ever gotten in my life. So they crushed it. I got our guy, Maurice took care of us. He was he was on it because Danny was very like we got to get to the.
00:22:38
Speaker 2: Danny was in like he was he needed this the for this, this was his big thing. Where does the Gabriel love come from from his youth? Just his youth?
00:22:46
Speaker 8: Yeah, I love Gabriel, Genesis, all of it. He it was so funny. We get into the area and we finally get in and it took a while, much longer, I think than it should have to get in the arena. But that's neither here nor there. And then he's like, if I wasn't tall, we would have lost eyes on him. In three seconds he.
00:23:03
Speaker 2: Was at locked in.
00:23:04
Speaker 8: Oh my goodness, he was moving. It was like a race walking pace. I even did mind.
00:23:07
Speaker 2: Was it festival seating? What was the hurry?
00:23:10
Speaker 8: He wanted to be there when the curtain went up. You did not want to miss there's no opening act. You did not want to miss one second.
00:23:15
Speaker 2: Of You had to be locked in.
00:23:17
Speaker 8: He's a Gabriel light locked in.
00:23:19
Speaker 2: It was not nice.
00:23:20
Speaker 8: Fun, fun, little fun, little first Friday.
00:23:24
Speaker 2: Yeah, that is nice when you get a little event to go with it. Really, you know, all of a sudden, what do you got one day and you're right.
00:23:28
Speaker 8: Back one day. We're right back, baby, right back to it and get and we get football on this day we do.
00:23:33
Speaker 2: Brown's back to practice today. The injury report out yesterday. Watson limited with the shoulder. Ford limited with the shoulder as well, So that's two backs limited. That's Kareem was limited earlier in the week and then Ford limited. Now any concern there, We'll get to Watson in a second.
00:23:48
Speaker 8: I don't believe that there's any concern there. Those guys will be ready to go for the game. No, I don't think there's anything. And DeShawn, I don't have any concern. It was as you heard Alex, well, we will hear or we will hear. But he did say it earlier that it was on a run play, and it was on a run play that was kind of early on in the game. So he went on to have his best game. So I feel pretty good about that and that he'll be ready to go. And I think for the Browns, you know, it is a good thing that you get through this game and then you get your bye week, so if there is anything that needs to be rested, he'll get the opportunity to do that in a week.
00:24:21
Speaker 2: But not ideal bye week is what like nine.
00:24:24
Speaker 8: Yeah, probably, Yeah, really, it just kind of honestly, it kind of just it depends when you need it as a as a team, you know what I mean. Yeah, so I would say later it was what you would want. Yeah, definitely.
00:24:36
Speaker 2: All right, here are some here's some defense nicknames for you, the Land of Lockdown, Lockdown on the Lake. He's really under that. This one's pretty good from Richard Miles Marauders, that's not bad. The rock wall a lot of getting a lot of lockdown on the lakes, getting a lot of lockdown on the lake. I don't know that that's you can't call a defense.
00:24:57
Speaker 8: That that's like the secondary. That'd be like the Legion of Boom.
00:24:59
Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know that you could do that on the That doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the front.
00:25:04
Speaker 4: Look at them.
00:25:05
Speaker 2: Let's take a look at this today.
00:25:06
Speaker 8: Okay, so we've got a nice gene.
00:25:08
Speaker 2: It's a nice it's a shoe that ends no lace. It's a boots. It looks like a boot.
00:25:15
Speaker 8: Lace no lace. Yeah, it's a lace free it's a lace free flip on because it's such supple leather, supple leather that it doesn't even it doesn't ends in an a.
00:25:23
Speaker 2: It doesn't matter. Yeah, he's it's gotta going. He had a little bit of a looked looked like a little bit of a he's grown a little bit of a facial got to a little bit going there.
00:25:31
Speaker 8: He's getting he's getting ready for getting ready for starting a playoff beard, playoff Beard.
00:25:35
Speaker 2: Yeah, I just don't ever shave mine one thing that we're big fans of. Same just pasted it shaved every day.
00:25:42
Speaker 8: For a long time.
00:25:43
Speaker 2: I'm over it. One of the things that I'm a big fan of and you you were a big fan of, is interesting. I like interesting. So I like when when people say things that are interesting. And Rokwan Smith, who's a linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens, had something interesting to say. This was his press conference yesterday in Baltimore.
00:25:57
Speaker 12: You're considered the bad guy because you're going into essentially another man's house and you're trying to take over, like his wife, kids, everyone there to watch them. So you were going over to beat their tails in front of their wife and kids. So when you think about it from that perspective, like any man's gonna you know, fight to the death in that point.
00:26:12
Speaker 2: I know if that's me in that case, I know I would.
00:26:14
Speaker 12: So I think about it from my standpoint and I'm just going in, you know, just like I preper for any other game. Play to the whistle, play physical and hit anything they move.
00:26:24
Speaker 2: Let's go. I like it, same, I like it.
00:26:28
Speaker 8: This is one of those situations where you don't like what they say. You don't want to be beaten in front of your wife and kids.
00:26:34
Speaker 2: Beat them, shut them up, shut them up. Yeah, that's it.
00:26:38
Speaker 8: What is?
00:26:39
Speaker 2: How would you rate your most hated adversaries?
00:26:44
Speaker 8: Like, who are my most hated adversaries? Just in life? No, of this chair right now is pretty high on my list of most hater This chair though.
00:26:51
Speaker 2: This chairs right up there. The chairs are almost untenable.
00:26:55
Speaker 8: It's becoming. They've been a detriment to my health.
00:26:57
Speaker 2: They've been beaten and bruised, like battered.
00:27:01
Speaker 8: Left side of my back.
00:27:02
Speaker 2: There's nothing left to him. They're done.
00:27:04
Speaker 8: Help gibbe.
00:27:05
Speaker 2: That guy knew it. There's no pushback. Well he's he didn't have to sit in him what he brand chairncho. Take this care and you can see him sitting in his brand new chair. Yeah, show them Look at him in there, just lounging. Oh, just give it a little scoot. Look at him. He's perfectly comfortable, comfortable, comfortable, comfortable about just what's wrong with you guys' chairs?
00:27:27
Speaker 8: Mine's great, said, this is my number one adversent, no doubt.
00:27:30
Speaker 2: Any time you have this type of a tilt, you know, I mean there's some this is if I'm going to identify the problem. I'm going to tell you this. I think it's a ball bearing problem. Well, I think that they have been stripped and stripped and there they are malformed. Yes, they have no structure, no structure.
00:27:47
Speaker 8: And somehow it's a integrity. It's affected this because it's not bending the way that it's supposed to. It's like, yeah, so that's my number one adversary right now.
00:27:56
Speaker 2: This maybe Actually I'll give you a stand, I mean to stand if they in fact, you got to raise up. Though we talked about when I was consulted about this.
00:28:07
Speaker 8: We pitched it.
00:28:08
Speaker 2: When I was consulted, I said, I'd prefer to stand. If you stand, stand all morning. I stand. Yeah, I prefer I prefer that. But you'd have to build a stand on a mic, or you can take the mics from the top down and then you'd be good to Kennedy, Yes, hey, that's the way you do it. There you go.
00:28:30
Speaker 5: It's exactly why we're not doing Now.
00:28:32
Speaker 8: I'm back in this chair of pain.
00:28:33
Speaker 2: Back in the pain.
00:28:34
Speaker 5: Adjust it.
00:28:35
Speaker 2: No, no, no, dude, no give it. These are not adjustable anymore. You know the thing that you where you go, you bring it up and down. Nothing nothing back and forth done. It's over I think straight right.
00:28:50
Speaker 5: Well, we're all in agreement on the cause situation, all right.
00:28:57
Speaker 8: So my number one adversary lack of on off cough yep. Number two adversary, now these chairs. Number three adversary playing a regular season game at Heinz Field.
00:29:07
Speaker 2: That's it. That place is a house of horrors.
00:29:11
Speaker 8: Do you have many I don't believe in curses, but texts I got after that game, Oh my god, I believe you may even been one of those. I know my boy Jimmy Bang Bang did Jimmy reems he sent me.
00:29:24
Speaker 2: I don't believe in curses, but that.
00:29:27
Speaker 8: Place is cursed.
00:29:28
Speaker 2: It was like the it's like in uh I think I said that.
00:29:33
Speaker 5: I think you did.
00:29:34
Speaker 2: I can't make sense of it, like I don't ever want to go over there again. But the it's the the line in the original Pirates of the Caribbean. Do you believe in ghost stories? You better start because you're in one.
00:29:44
Speaker 8: You're in one.
00:29:44
Speaker 2: That's what it's like over there. You get It's just it is that.
00:29:47
Speaker 8: By the way, you have a beautiful grace and hoodie on right now that that way, don't have that. It's a beautiful hoo. Yeah, it looks like that wolf sometimes has gang like the little fake eyes. It looks like it's eyes like a little googly.
00:30:02
Speaker 2: It's coming at you.
00:30:03
Speaker 8: Yeah, it's a little disconcerting.
00:30:06
Speaker 2: I like that though, for it. Yeah, here's one for you over the That one's you don't have to worry about that going mainstream.
00:30:14
Speaker 8: There's a big barrier to entry on that one.
00:30:18
Speaker 2: But that's fine, you know. Yeah, you never know, you never know. Let me ask you this next five years. Biggest rival for this team over the next five years.
00:30:31
Speaker 8: I mean it should be it should be the Bengals. Yeah, but it feels like there's just trouble of bruin and it's not just bad chili down in Cincinnati.
00:30:42
Speaker 2: What happened? Did I miss something this morning?
00:30:43
Speaker 8: It just feels that way about that dud. No, it just there's a lot of disquietude.
00:30:48
Speaker 2: Well that I mean, can you imagine around here if what happened Friday happened around here where Mike Brown, driving on a golf cart, tells Joe Burrow to get in. The golf cart drives around in a half circle. Burrow very clearly upset by being asked to get in a golf cart in the middle of practice in front of everybody else, right, and then hops off like while the cart is kind of still moving to continue stretching.
00:31:12
Speaker 5: Yeah.
00:31:13
Speaker 2: Can you imagine if that happened Hereugh, it'd.
00:31:15
Speaker 8: Be people would be going nuts. I just think on Mike Brown's point, like number one, I get what he's saying, I made this big investment in you, and this is that's that's not an investment for Week three of the twenty twenty three NFL season. But I would also venture that Mike Brown has the ability to say, summon him to his office.
00:31:34
Speaker 2: I think that's probably what Joe Burrow would have preferred to do, right, Yeah, instead of making a big show right about it.
00:31:40
Speaker 8: That's right?
00:31:41
Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that that's probably.
00:31:44
Speaker 8: T Higgins can't be happy. Let's just be honest about it. Right now, Te Higgins is not a happy camper, and he's playing for what he and we talked about it. We think his tape's good.
00:31:52
Speaker 6: Nothing.
00:31:52
Speaker 8: There's a long season. But Tiagans has ten catches for one hundred and ten yards through two three games this year. But when you really break that down, he's had two games where he has been a complete non factor because he had I.
00:32:03
Speaker 2: Think nothing against US. He had eight for.
00:32:05
Speaker 8: Now literally nothing against US, and he had against the Ravens eight for eighty nine and two touchdowns. So the other two games are two catches for twenty one yards total combined. Yeah, no, I think that you've heard Jamar Chase complaining all right that I don't know. I don't know. I'm glad they didn't keep Jesse Bates though, but I think it should be that more of the Ravens.
00:32:27
Speaker 2: Dax Hill's playing really well for them. He's not quite Baits, but he's playing really well. Yeah, it should be those should be the two teams.
00:32:34
Speaker 8: Did you know?
00:32:35
Speaker 2: I tell him?
00:32:36
Speaker 8: Did you know that Justice Hill, the running back of the Baltimore Ravens, is Dax Hill's brother.
00:32:41
Speaker 2: I would not have had that me. Neither would not have had that. Where did Justice Hill play college?
00:32:45
Speaker 8: Oklahoma State?
00:32:45
Speaker 2: Oklahoma State and Dax went to Michigan. Yeah, yeah, this one's got This one could be fun Sunday.
00:32:53
Speaker 8: I think it's the Ravens I believe with Lamar are going to be in the mixed question is can Lamar play a full season? Their defense is not what it used to be, but still stout. I mean, you still look at their rankings total defense number ten, rush defense number eight, pass defense number eleven point three, game number eight. So there's still a very, very formidable defense. Now you could say, well, they've played Houston, they played a less than one hundred percent Joe Burrow, and they've played Indianapolis. Yea, and he is Indianapolis with their backup quarterback.
00:33:24
Speaker 2: But I think that's on right now. I think that's okay. I think that's an upgrade for Indy and even their chance of losing Stampede. I think that, you know, like it sounds like Richards is going to play this week that.
00:33:35
Speaker 8: He did step out of the back of the end zone.
00:33:37
Speaker 2: He did, he did. I think I blame that a little bit on the way those end zones are painted, because it's got the big thick white at the back of it, and I think sometimes you don't know where where does the line begin begin? Yeah?
00:33:50
Speaker 8: Sure, sure, that's what that is.
00:33:52
Speaker 2: This from Jade on It is an ass CVD. It's a mail bag Thursday. This is an ass CBD from Ja. She wants to know if you and I would be interested to a Friends of CBD Fantasy league and they would like us to be in it. This is my answer to this. It's too late for this year. For next year, potentially I would be into it. This is what I would say, Jade, and I say this affection here.
00:34:14
Speaker 8: Hear that, Giback.
00:34:15
Speaker 2: We who's to say I'm not a friend of CBD. Next year, Maybe I'll just call in once a week. We'll do scores, let people print money. But I was just make it as easy as possible on me.
00:34:29
Speaker 8: Yes, set it up. That's just the date, time, and let's do it.
00:34:33
Speaker 2: Interns used to come to me and they'd be like, you write me a letter of recommendation. I said, how about you write what you want me to say and I'll sign it.
00:34:42
Speaker 5: Intriguing, Yeah, I would have put together.
00:34:47
Speaker 2: I'll read it and I'll sign it.
00:34:48
Speaker 5: I don't need what like maybe you and I if you and I had a team together, because I tend to lose focus at times trying to do that and everything else from this fantasy football, maybe like a co ownership against the Mighty Z.
00:35:04
Speaker 2: Well, then they want all the friends friends involved. We got tons of friends of the program.
00:35:09
Speaker 5: But I could help you navigate. You can help me get.
00:35:12
Speaker 8: For that movie.
00:35:13
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I can't be doing any more things. I put a list of cap.
00:35:18
Speaker 5: Are you sure, because when you're done, I'm done, You're not done.
00:35:22

Speaker 2: What a Medical Say Caused You injury? Called the Medical Malpractice Attorneys at one hundred elk Ohio ELC Ounce proud partner of your Cleveland Browns. It is a matchup Thursday, presented by bally bt Sports Betty partner your Cleveland Browns now live in Ohio. It is time for the vaunted Browns defense versus this Ravens offense. For the full breakdown, we go to Duck Dizzy.
00:36:38
Speaker 8: All right, let's start off where this Ravens team ranks. Total offense twelve, three hundred and forty eight yards a game, the number five rushing offense that's no surprise, one hundred and fifty eight yards a game. They are the number twenty four pass offense one hundred and ninety yards a game. Fourteenth in points twenty three point seven. They've been great on third downs fifty one percent. Great in the red zone seventy three percent. You got to keep them out of there. They will put the ball on the ground. Now, they've done a good job not allowing a ton of pressure, just twenty six percent. This your third best in the NFL. Now, part of that is because Lamar Jackson is getting the ball out so quickly on these short passes I talked about yesterday. For those who remember, and congrats, congrats if you do he's completing a career high seventy three point three percent of his passes, which is second best in the NFL. But he is averaging seven point one yards per attempt, which is well below his career average of seven point four when he was completing only sixty four percent of his passes. So there is it's a quick it's an underneathing. And in fact, I charted this yesterday, Bo and I think you're gonna find this aniversity very interesting.
00:37:39
Speaker 2: Let's do it.
00:37:42
Speaker 8: I'm just gonna give you. These are the facts that I'm gonna give you. Right, he attempts twenty seven point three passes per game. Twenty seven point three passes per game?
00:37:53
Speaker 5: All right, I wrote it down.
00:37:56
Speaker 8: How many passes per game? Do you believe? Of those, twenty seven go more than ten yards in the air.
00:38:06
Speaker 2: So they were second screen for me two weeks ago, no, no primary because we were Monday night. So I saw him two weeks ago against Cincinnati, their full game, and I saw snippets of their game on Sunday via red Zone, and so I know that it is a lot of dink and dunk. So twenty seven point three pass plays per game, I'm going to say, eleven are over ten yards.
00:38:34
Speaker 8: Seven are more than ten yards per game night.
00:38:37
Speaker 2: That is so Nickeldeme.
00:38:39
Speaker 8: Twenty two of his past attempts have gone more than ten yards in the air. Eighty three so I mean sixty one have gone less than ten yards in the air. This season. Here's are his numbers behind the line of scrimmage through nine yards in front of him. Forty nine of sixty one eighty percent completions ten to nineteen yeards. Done a good job here eleven of fourteen one hundred and eighty yards and a touchdown, but that's only five attempts a game, less than five. It's four point six to seven and then twenty plus in the air. He's only taken eight throws of more than twenty yards in the air two point six attempts per game. So they are not putting it in the air down the field very often, which is why he's been kept clean for the most part. But pressure is important because when he's clean eighty one percent eight yards per attempt to touchdown, one hundred nine rating under pressure this year Lamar Jackson thirty eight percent completions, three point five yards per attempt, an interception and a twenty one point nine rating. Now they have really kind of put the ball into the end zone. On the ground, Jackson himself has just two passing touchdowns this season. He's got two rushing touchdowns, though they have six rushing touchdowns. The Browns, as you all well know, have not allowed a single rushing touchdown this season. Who do you got to look out for? Well, they got four first rounders in their wide briskers.
00:39:55
Speaker 2: Keep trying, baby, they keep trying.
00:39:57
Speaker 8: Zay Flowers twenty one receptions, most three career games in Baltimore Raven's history. That's the guy you gotta watch for. But then you go back and you say, wait a second, all these short passes, say, Flowers is averaging nine yards of catch. He has a long catch of fifty two yards, So if you take that out, it gives you a hop. What one hundred and thirty six on twenty catches, that's six yards, yeah, six and a half yards a catch. So they're going underneath of them. We'll see if they get Odell back this week. Nelson Aglor can fly. Remember back in twenty twenty at eight hundred ninety six yards nineteen yards a catch and eight touchdowns with the Las Vegas Raiders. He has the one wide receiver touchdown this year for them, and he's the only other receiver over one hundred yards other than Zave Flowers Mark Andrews. He's got a touchdown, nine catches eight yards, and a score on the season miss week one. He is a three time Pro Bowler and he has been a Browns killer ten games against the Browns seven touchdowns. That's the most he has against any opponent, but last year in two games three catches thirty one yards. Now he does have in his six games prior to twenty twenty two seven touchdowns and one one hundred yard game. As he was very much the focal point of what they did. So I think it's gonna be our ability to get after them. You want to get him into those third and long situations and then get after Lamar. We've already heard, you know from Jim Schwartz that we're gonna take the fight to Lamar. You want to keep him in the pocket. You got to be aware of the designed runs. Though last week's season high designed runs season Hine Rush attempts fourteen one hundred one yards, two touchdowns, So he's got thirteen career one hundred yard games. Two of them have come against the Browns. They won both of those games when he did that. But Gus Edwards, would you have this? Would you have this? Gus Edwards amongst all running backs in NFL history with five hundred carries, okay, ranks fifth fifth in yards per carry.
00:41:47
Speaker 2: I wouldn't have had that. But you've thought about him for a long time that he's there. In a way, he's kind of like the big version of Swift. It's like, why can't he just eat more?
00:41:59
Speaker 8: Well, he's always been. He's been banged up, and he's always been in a time share. But because he's he's more of a runner, he's not really doesn't give you a whole lot catching it out of the backfield. He doesn't even have a catch this year. So he's at five point two. Nick Chubb, Jamal Charles, I'm blinking on the other one, Barry No, I have al bo Boo Jackson. Thank you very much, bo Jacks? And do you know who number one is? Here's your hint. He was a former Cleveland Brown and he is currently active in the National Football League.
00:42:40
Speaker 2: The earnest no looking right at you. Soon it's got to be from your era. Yes, and he's still.
00:42:49
Speaker 8: At He just scored I want to say, four touchdowns last week mostart Raheem mostert all time in NFL history in two thousand and fourteen with Conle Kyle and then we got rid of no idea.
00:43:03
Speaker 2: He was that old. We got rid of him no idea.
00:43:05
Speaker 8: Much to the consternation of our coach prior to the Coaches Show. And he's less than please I would.
00:43:11
Speaker 2: Say, which coach was less than pleased about that. We'll let the people figure We'll let them figure that out.
00:43:15
Speaker 8: Yeah, uh Raheem most started five point four yards carry all time yards per carry leader in NFL history for any running back with more than five five hundred carries, but Guess Edwards is fifth and Gus Edwards last year if you remember, he missed all of twenty one with an ACL His first game back was against US in Baltimore, and he went sixteen carries, sixty six yards and a touchdown against US last year in two games, twenty three carries. It's not a lot, and he had one hundred and twenty one yards in a touchdown.
00:43:45
Speaker 5: Like he is formidable.
00:43:47
Speaker 8: He's very formidable. So you're gonna have to stop him, get them into third and lungs. Be aggressive after the football. You've got Melvin Gordon who's fumbled it and lost it nine times the last three years. Lamar is not afraid to lose the ball as well. Lost one last week against Indy, almost lost two. So we got to get that ball on the ground. But we'll see. They got Ronnie Sanley back and Linder Bomb back, so those are their two, you know, front line guys. Stanley's a pro bowler first seamal prone twenty nineteen, but crazy it's not played more than twelve games in a season since that twenty nineteen season. Linnar Bomb of course their first round pick last year. But Sam Mustafer fielded very well for them. But I still think that line is gettable. But you got to be ready for the ball to come out quickly, but at the same time, you don't want it going over your head, right. A lot of their routes are kind of sit down, back to the end zone numbers to the quarterback routes, and so we got to be careful be be aware of that because they do a lot of that on first down as kind of those drive stards of six seven yard plays.
00:44:42
Speaker 2: What do you think how would you articulate the biggest difference between what they're doing now offensively with Todd Munkin and what they did previously offensively.
00:44:50
Speaker 8: More straight dropback, more more straight dropback, fewer quarterback design runs, more of just like a spread passing attack.
00:44:58
Speaker 2: Yeah, and they spread them out and.
00:44:59
Speaker 8: Be they'll create space. You know, Ricard I said it yesterday. I think Ricard only played nineteen snaps last week. He was playing you know, fifty percent of snaps last year. Yeah, So just a different it's a much more Lamar's offense. And that's kind of the thing that you know when you listen to the broadcast that they kept talking about Lamar that he's comfortable, he's given you know, freedom, he likes it. It's more spread out, it's more you know, in his hands. But some things to keep an eye on though. By the way, Browns fans, if you want to do Miles Garrett, if he gets a sack, there'll be his eleventh in the last seven home games, and he'll be the second fastest ever to eighty sacks, tying TJ. Watt for that second best ever in eighty eight games. Denzel gets a pass defense ten straight game with a pass the breakup. That is the longest active streak in the NFL right now at nine. Second place is four four.
00:45:48
Speaker 2: Denzel has been and from the start of the season, the best mirror corner in the league.
00:45:54
Speaker 8: Oh yeah, the route that you saw matting Matt Bowen tweeted out about him. Ryan Clark's been talking about it. Just a back pedal and then the break on that deep dig.
00:46:03
Speaker 2: He's got a chance to be All Pro, Like that would be something for him if he could get one of those, get a second team All Pro on the I mean, he's gonna be if he stays healthy. He's got to be a Pro Bowler, but like being fun to get like an All Pro out of him based on where he's at.
00:46:15
Speaker 8: I'll tell you what. That's one area where I think Pro football focus this year is like he's like the thirty ninth corner in the league in their grades, which seems odd. Mj Emerson's nowhere near it. And the guy we just talked about is giving up on the season twenty five percent completion curn end rating and has only allowed one reception for every twenty nine cover snaps. Yeah, that's grazy. Oh By the way just turn twenty three yesterday.
00:46:35
Speaker 2: You like that. I do like that big weekend in the North in terms of how critical this one division game always going to be critical anyway. We're hosting the Ravens. The other two are out of out of the division. The Bengals are at Tennessee, and then the Steelers are at Houston. So Pittsburgh will be favored obviously to go to three and one with that operation. And then the Bengals trying to get it to even steven if they can at Tennessee, Yeah, which I would think to see it have a hard time blocking their line the way theirs isn't as good as ours, but it's in the vicinity, but it's I think it could be. It could be a long, long day for all the rams. Ult Yeah, dead and so the point being that this division is starting to it flexed a little bit. Another chance to flex this weekend.
00:47:18
Speaker 8: Yeah, and we need to win now where you can flex right at top of it.
00:47:20
Speaker 2: Yep, that's what you gotta do, all right. Coming up next, we get your fantasy minute, we go around the league as well, get you set for Thursday night football. Still time for the matchup the other side, as well our offense versus their defense. Lots to get to here. Cleveland Browns Daily, eight fifty ESPN Cleveland.
00:47:51
Speaker 1: Cleveland Browns Daily brought to you by Bally Bet coming soon to Ohio on eight fifty ESPN, Cleveland.
00:48:04
Speaker 2: Does your furry friend have what it takes to beat out the competition? Under the Dog Race Sweepsteak presented by Milkbone for a chance to have your pup compete in the annual halftime dog Races. Me's at Cleveland Browns dot com slash contest to enter. Check out more from Milkbone at your local grocer or pet supply stores. Speaking of dogs, last night, I'm getting ready to go to the youth sports and I'm in the bedroom in the back, and I hear my wife scream at a level that is alarming, yeah, and that I rarely ever hear her scream. I can't run out right away for various reasons. I then start hearing the boys scream okay for me, for anyone, help help dad. So I come running out of the bedroom. My wife is in tears. Now my wife is in tears. Bootsy is running around like Kevin from home alone. She kind of can get it out. She's amidst screaming and crying. Buddy's eating a bird. Buddy's eating a bird.
00:49:12
Speaker 8: So I got gonna be something really great.
00:49:14
Speaker 2: So I go yeah, and he's a dog. Now I go out. She runs to the room, Bootsy kevin ing Beamsy.
00:49:25
Speaker 8: Of course he's he's.
00:49:28
Speaker 2: Upstairs, he's in his room. He's he's not paying attention to it. He's got no interest, stays away from the chaos. NBC is outside trying to like handle Buddy and like get some sense to him. Let that bird go right. Just we're good. So he's outside on the porch. I opened the sliding glass door, and uh, what we had was, first of all, I do not think Buddy is a bird murderer.
00:49:56
Speaker 5: I'm not.
00:49:56
Speaker 2: I don't think he did the act. I think that the act was done. And he said, hey, dad, here's a here's a fun toy. What do you think? Look what I found by the way. So what same again, I'm not going to convict him. It's it's he's a rich job.
00:50:11
Speaker 8: A twelve thirteen pound yeah, Jack Russell chihuahua. We were taking her home from a walk one day. This little bird's going around. She's kind of chasing it, and the kids are like, don't let her chase it? Like what she canna do? Get catch this bird? Boom right out of midair, left as it a line.
00:50:24
Speaker 5: Got it good, by.
00:50:26
Speaker 8: The way, Hey bird fly higher, fly higher, you have wings stopping.
00:50:31
Speaker 2: This thing was mangled like it felt like a bird anatomy class he was trying to There were no feathers a little. It was all just like carcass and like he gets a meat oozing things. It was a gross clean up gross. The yelling was so loud that my neighbor, who's probably a football field away, yells over. She's like, boh, is everything okay? I'm like, yeah, buddy, ate a bird, that's all. We're fine. Nothing to see.
00:51:00
Speaker 8: It feels like you're It's the way that it sounded.
00:51:03
Speaker 2: Was I thought a child had broken a limb.
00:51:07
Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, right, so you're thinking catastrophic. I'm going to the hospital and its ruined for sure, yeah, or Buddy something bad or Buddy tragic. Yes, yeah, it's like what if he gets avian flu.
00:51:17
Speaker 2: I'm like, it's fine.
00:51:18
Speaker 5: If she liked to really be horrified, bring Buddy on over to the homestead Sunday, I uh no, Saturday. It was Saturday. I'm inside and my wife just like Jay said, and she like number one, not a lot of me Jason and like yelling and him. I'm like, what did I do? Yeah? And I come out and uh, roxy's got a groundhog?
00:51:43
Speaker 2: Oh boy, and killed it and did it. It was she was the murderer in essense.
00:51:49
Speaker 5: She's literally shaking it and I'm like that things is about half as big as she is.
00:51:55
Speaker 2: Yeah. No, no, but she wouldn't eat it, right.
00:51:58
Speaker 5: She often dropped it came it looks.
00:52:02
Speaker 2: Look good to dad. Am, I said, it's gonna be a lot more, a lot more. He's gonna go get things and bring it in. That's the way it goes. Got to keep an eye on it. Absolutely, he did. He bring it into the house, brought it to the porch, right to the door. Alright, so did bring it in. It would have been it was a I mean it was a hose clean up. So it's a shovel hose in order to get it. Yeah, shovel. I mean it's fine. Oh my god, she goes, Are you going to bury it? He said, no, we're not having a vigil. No, we're throwing it into the Woods and it's going to feed some other animal. All right, let's set your fantasy minute, presented by Scalec Capital. Scaleco Capital investing locally in the Midwest. Z who you got tonight, buddy? What are they doing with a running back?
00:52:48
Speaker 8: So, yeah, it's it's still unclear. So I've seen reports that said David Montgomery is going to play to Yeah, he said he expects him to suit up. Uh. He had one earlier in the day that Montgomery wore not on track to play, even though he's tagged a limited participants the last two. It looks like he'll be ready to return from his absence. I just don't know, Like I don't know coming back from a thigh brus I don't know. Christian Watson supposedly is making his return to me. You're only playing those guys if you absolutely have to, if you've got reasonable healthy where you get the picture options that that's who you play. So I would not be interested in going with those guys today. When you look at this week in the fantasy world, give me some people to get after here at quarterbacks that I like, maybe better than a little bit than the average or the consensus. I know you're not want to do it. Play justin fields again. It's Denver, Play justin fields again. You gotta do it. I also don't mind at all Russell Wilson in that same game. That should be a good fantasy game. And I think tonight Jordan Love of the two quarterbacks. I like Jordan Love as well tonight.
00:54:02
Speaker 2: He's this year's fields. If you watch him play, if you actually watch the Packers play, oh my god, he's not accurate, but he will score twenty seven Fantasy points a week because they run with him, and they run with him in the red zone.
00:54:13
Speaker 8: Running backs this week, Rahem Mostert is a must start at this point. Ye, Now, Jeff Wilson's gonna come back. They've got a chan who knows what's gonna or a chan?
00:54:23
Speaker 6: Is it a chan?
00:54:24
Speaker 4: A chan?
00:54:25
Speaker 8: It's not Chane anymore.
00:54:26
Speaker 2: He got rid of chan Chan.
00:54:28
Speaker 8: They have Devin a chan. But you still got to play Mostert. Kenneth Walker's blowing up for Seattle. Play him, Zack Moss. This might be his last week. Who knows what happens with Jonvin Taylor. But all Zach mostd was become the only running back to run for one hundred yards on this Baltimore Ravens team. Last week he ran for over one hundred thirty carries one to twenty two and had two catches for twenty three and a touchdown. Bet Patrick Queen on a little wheel route twitch maybe you'll see there. Alvin Kamara, I say go with it. He's back, roll with it. And I think Javonte Williams, the guys have been holding on to him for so long and he's done nothing against the Bears. Come on, said, he's got to be able to get in there. Wide receivers, you're starting both the guys with the rams Nikua and to two at well, you're keeping them in your lineups. Adam Thieling at this point, based on volume, is somebody that you have to play week in and week out the last two weeks. Adam Thielen, I don't know if Gibbe would have this twenty three targets, eighteen catches, one hundred and ninety nine yards and two touchdowns. Yeah he oh, he's you got to play him. So those are some of the guys that I like at wide receiver. If you need some tight ends, and everybody does really unless you have Kelsey and Howkinson Sam Laporta. If he is somehow on your waiver wire, thank Uncle Bo for that one. He gave it to death to us early this year. Get Sam Laporta, get him in your lineups. Hunter. Henry is playing very well as well for the New England Patriots, so you can go with him and there you go defense this week. I like Cincinnati as a pickup.
00:55:55
Speaker 5: Nicholas Lucarelli tweets the show, Nathan, I have a Monra and Higgins. Who do you start a Q be Burrough or.
00:56:00
Speaker 2: Golf gofs at Indie Borough's at Tennessee gofs Green Bay. Right, Oh, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I thought he said for somebody's had Stafford.
00:56:09
Speaker 8: On the Borough.
00:56:10
Speaker 1: Yeah.
00:56:11
Speaker 8: If you want to do a little bit of a hedge in your bet, I guess you would go, I'm on I think you're playing. I'm on Ra because he's just so consistent that he plays. And then you can go with Burrough at quarterback and just hope that they get it going. And that way, if Higgins still has a good game, you're like, okay, all right, he still got that.
00:56:26
Speaker 2: All right. That was your Fantasy Minute, presented by Scaleco Capital, Scaleco Capital investing locally in the Midwest.
00:56:31
Speaker 8: I mean it is wild when you look at these rankings. I mean it is pretty consensus that Burrow is Burrough's currently now not viewed as a top twelve quarterback, which is wild.
00:56:42
Speaker 2: So it's the worst thing that can happen in fantasy sports is you you have somebody who feels like a sure thing, they have an injury and you can't. You feel like, how can I not play him? Eventually he's going to pop out of it. Any will Eventually he'll come out of it, He'll be Yeah, he's a big game. But it's like in the meantime, how long do you tread water waiting for that to happen.
00:57:03
Speaker 8: At some point you have to say remove the name and just look at the facts of the matter and say, would I'd be playing this guy if his name was Joe schmol he would not know he'd be on the bench. By the way, Jade, Jade McCrae, I'll never forget the day my dog came back with a baby kangaroo in its mouth. When I lived back in Australia. She was so proud of herself. She sad little Joey. Look at Joey, A little.
00:57:26
Speaker 5: Joey talking about birds and like groundhogs.
00:57:29
Speaker 2: Well, listen, I in the Columbus Zoo. They've got this place where those things are. They run free, and you walk in there. I'm always leary. I heads on a swivel around those guys. You see those guys looking at you and they stand. I'm all right.
00:57:45
Speaker 5: I have no beef with you.
00:57:46
Speaker 2: I don't know anything about how your operation is. That tail makes me nervous. I'm not familiar with your kind. I keep a good distance. I keep a very good distance. This is a funny one read, among other things in Joey Buddy as his name being Buddy Gary, he said, was it a raven? Foretelling?
00:58:05
Speaker 8: Oh baby, Oh I like oh, I like that. I like that.
00:58:09
Speaker 2: I like that. It was not a raven. It was a cardinal of.
00:58:12
Speaker 8: Some sort sad Yeah, yeah.
00:58:16
Speaker 2: Cardinals have very good agents. If they're red, then it's then they're pretty Like if I would have said Sparrow, you guys would have had any reaction at all. Right, Jared look at the smirk on Bo's face, knowing that his dog led to the miess A small part his Avian counterpart also not a problem.
00:58:30
Speaker 4: He liked it.
00:58:30
Speaker 2: I have no problem with it.
00:58:32
Speaker 8: I just came across something and looking up the fantasy stuff. Yeah, this is from our good friend Andrew Siciliano.
00:58:38
Speaker 2: Yep.
00:58:38
Speaker 8: Did you know I'm going to give you two a tang of ilo as numbers in twenty twenty two and twenty twenty three through three games. You want to write, you write this. You write this down so you can compare that.
00:58:48
Speaker 2: Wait me get a pen. I'm gonna write this down.
00:58:50
Speaker 4: Yep.
00:58:51
Speaker 8: Twenty twenty two three and h record yep, seventy two for one hundred and one passing, eight touchdowns, two interceptions. That's twenty twenty two. Okay, alright, twenty twenty three ready, yep, three and oh record yep, seventy two of one hundred and one passing eight touchdowns, two interceptions.
00:59:11
Speaker 2: Come on, what's the yardage difference? I wonder that's amazing that it's that similar. I wonder what how they hold up? You pull me up, You pull up this year, I'll pull up last year.
00:59:19
Speaker 5: Keep him upright in the world? Is your oyster?
00:59:24
Speaker 8: That isn't that's just outrageous though to be seventy two of one oh one. Both seasons. There we go, sude. This year he's at one thy twenty four.
00:59:35
Speaker 2: All right, I'm gonna need a game log.
00:59:37
Speaker 8: I got you, I got you. I think them last year, Yeah, I think I'm there. I'm here last year first three weeks two seventy plus four sixty nine, seven thirty nine, seven thirty nine plus one eighty six seven thirty nine. That would be twenty five nine twenty five. So about he's ninety nine yards ahead this year.
01:00:01
Speaker 2: Wow, that's pretty that's consistent, buddy.
01:00:05
Speaker 8: That's wild. So you look for in the golf course.
01:00:06
Speaker 2: Maybe the only thing I've ever seen, the most consistent stretch of like professional athlete I've ever seen, was there's a stretch from Albert Pouholtz where he hits three thirty forty eight home runs, one hundred and thirty RBI. It's like five straight years. Oh, I saw a couple of home runs, a couple of RBIs, and a couple of banning average for like five years in a row. He did it with a crazy stretch. Yeah, yeah, he was absolutely remarkable. NFL. This is around the league. The NFL typically doesn't make trades like the one yesterday. The three team blockbuster that we saw, Adam Schefter saying, the closest trade we might have seen was nineteen eighty seven, a three team trade with the Bills, Rams, and Colts.
01:00:43
Speaker 5: So I just sent you guys the tweet with the info this was the big Eric Dickerson trade.
01:00:49
Speaker 2: Yeah, yep.
01:00:50
Speaker 5: So the Rams traded Eric Dickerson. They got running backs Greg Bell and Owen Gill.
01:00:58
Speaker 8: Great.
01:00:59
Speaker 5: They got a number one from Buffalo in eighty eight that turned into Gashton Green.
01:01:05
Speaker 2: That was the one that they thought gaessed because he was a universe in Miami kid. I think the hope was that he could replace Dickerson.
01:01:10
Speaker 5: They got a number one from Indy that turned into Aaron Cox wide receiver. They got a number two from Indy. They got a number one in nineteen eighty nine that turned into Cleveland Gary running back.
01:01:25
Speaker 8: He got three ones, two, three twos and two players for a running back.
01:01:28
Speaker 5: Hold on, they got Frank stan they got it. They got a second round pick. They got three twos, three ones, and two players.
01:01:37
Speaker 2: So then the question becomes, because this is this is not it's not as similar. It's not the Hall that the Vikings gave for the Cowboys. For herschel Walker. Yeah, which is the greatest hall and led to a dynasty being creative. But you say yourself, well, who won this thing? Right? So Dickerson is coming off of at the at the time of this deal. In his nineteen eighty seven season with the UH with the Rams, he gets traded mid season here, but so let's go to eighty six was his last full season with the Rams. He's eighteen hundred and twenty one yards and eleven touchdowns. He's a monster, right, He's two years removed from twenty one hundred his rookie year, Dickerson ran for eighteen oh eight and eighty and eighteen touchdowns as a rookie. So his first season in Indy, he go, he leads the NFL and carries, he rushes for sixteen fifty nine and fourteen touchdowns. The next year in indiant age twenty nine, he's thirteen, eleven and seven and then it falls off a cliff.
01:02:29
Speaker 8: Can I just here's what I don't understand. So the Colts give up Owen Gill a one and two twos and the rights to Cornelius Bennett. So they get Eric Dickerson and that's what they give up the Bills basically gave up Greg Bell a one in eighty eight, a one in eighty nine, and a two and eighty nine for Cornelius Bennett.
01:02:50
Speaker 5: Yeah.
01:02:51
Speaker 2: Yeah, but he was really good, good who was then at two. But I don't know that people view draft picks the way that we did. It wasn't until Jimmy Johnson reset in eighty nine what draft picks were worth.
01:03:03
Speaker 8: So he was a five time pro bowler.
01:03:06
Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean he was notable. He was really good. One on those Bills defenses.
01:03:10
Speaker 8: Never had a double digit sax season, but yeah, it was quite good.
01:03:14
Speaker 5: Did the Philps win this well?
01:03:16
Speaker 2: For the immediate Dickerson ran for sixteen hundred and then next year, But but I don't.
01:03:21
Speaker 5: Know if the Rams won or not, because what good?
01:03:24
Speaker 8: I didn't do anything good, right, you know?
01:03:26
Speaker 2: I just think in those days, like if you if you were if you're Marty McFly or your biff right, and you steal the time machine, you go back, if you had to take like everything you know about the NFL, everything you know about building a roster, and drop into nineteen eighty six and we say, hey, this is how we're going to do it, which is basically what Jimmy Johnson did in eighty nine. Give me all the assets. I'm gonna put a scouting department together, real scouting department. We're gonna have the analytics. We're gonna study these guys. You'd run circles around. Oh yeah, there's like two scouts a team going gut feeling talking to Joe Paterno in state college. You know.
01:04:00
Speaker 8: That's that's what it was like. It was a totally different time Cornelius Bennett. So they may have failed ones a lot, yeah, even more than now.
01:04:10
Speaker 2: So he was and it was probably had the biggest long the longest staying power, most meaningful career post trade of anyone involved.
01:04:17
Speaker 5: Former Browns linebacker Frank Stams was part of that.
01:04:20
Speaker 8: By the way, Eric Dickerson and Bennett both number two overall picks in the draft. Cornelis Mall was the second pick in that draft. I mean who went.
01:04:28
Speaker 2: Ahead of Dickerson. Let's say, coming out of s Ed Toby, a quarterback that had been like.
01:04:33
Speaker 8: Eighty nineteen eighty three, nineteen eighty.
01:04:37
Speaker 2: Three, so that's the all time quarterback. That's Lway.
01:04:39
Speaker 8: NFL Draft, Lway, It's.
01:04:40
Speaker 2: Marino goes in the second round, and this late in the twenties. Ye, Ken O'Brien's in that draft. Todd Blackledge is in that draft. Jim Kelly, Jim Kelly. Jim Kelly refusing to play in Buffalo plays for the Houston Gamblers instead and.
01:04:52
Speaker 8: Then comes back and reunites with Cornelius Bennett. And yeah, they all gets a lot of supers. So they had six Hall of famers drafted in the first four teen picks, Elway, Dickerson, jimbo Covert, Bruce Matthews, actually five, Jim Kelly. Other notables there the running back Kurt Warner of the Seahawks, who actually had a fine career.
01:05:11
Speaker 2: Yep, the Pittsburgh could have. Steelers could have drafted Marino though, and he played it pitt.
01:05:18
Speaker 8: Yeah, the Steelers could have. They took Gabe rivera oh god, nose tackle. So the last two picks of the first round were Dan Marino and Darryl Green. Geez, two Hall of famers.
01:05:31
Speaker 2: Darrel Green doesn't get mentioned enough for his greatness he was. He played that era with Prime and he wasn't as showy or anything, but he was at lights out.
01:05:39
Speaker 5: He was like, I mean, it pains me. Thank god it never happened, but like the Squealers would have been would have been relevant for like four decades.
01:05:49
Speaker 2: Oh my god, Marino from from eighty four Yeah, ninety seven, Yeah in Pittsburgh, good good night. No, we didn't. We needed to have some victories in the eighties there, buddy.
01:06:00
Speaker 5: Yeah. This from Rich Rich Samini. With Taylor Swift reportedly scheduled to attend Jets Chiefs Sunday night, vivid seats saw a one and seventy three percent increase in traffic. The average Taylor Swift concert ticket at MetLife thirteen hundred and thirty two dollars. The average now for chief Said Jets is two hundred and thirty two dollars. Hey, everybody getting here? Second sucks?
01:06:28
Speaker 8: Yes, she is not.
01:06:29
Speaker 2: What do you want to do?
01:06:30
Speaker 5: Just you can turn around and see her by the way, if you're the Jets, Like I feel like it's a little bit of a quandary because you don't want to put her up on the jumbo tron because she's going to be in Chiefs gear. Right.
01:06:44
Speaker 2: Did you see the Kelsey brothers having fun with this?
01:06:46
Speaker 5: Oh? Spectacular? Great, so good, so good? Uh?
01:06:51
Speaker 8: You seeing all the videos of like there's one I can sell you one. You're not on the gram anymore. There's one other guys in the full like military fatigues and it's come back and his wife is telling him how excited she is that, you know how nice Taylor Swift is. She's putting Travis Kelcey on the map, and the guy's like, he's on the map. He's the best time in football, He's won super Bowl. He's on the map. He's like, no, he's not. That's so great. And he's like, I just stop all of this, Like I can't just stop talking. He's like, I can't deal with it. It's hilarious. Same.
01:07:17
Speaker 2: I agree. It's a mail Bike Thursday. Tweet ish your questions. We'll get to those coming up shortly. Joins Z and Gerrod West Park Station Live Chemists Fancy Show tonight at seven conflence of bud Light. Martin Anderson mj Emerson are going to join the program as well. Doctor Z. You have a question.
01:07:31
Speaker 5: Yeah.
01:07:31
Speaker 8: Little quick update from Baltimore courtesy of Jeff's reback Justice Hill, the running back who had missed last week with a tow injury, and then their dominant safety Kyle Hamilton, both were back at practice today, still not practicing, Odell Beckham Junior, Rashad Bateman, Marlon Humphrey, Adafe Oway, and David Ojabo.
01:07:51
Speaker 2: I mean Marrow will be the one to really watch.
01:07:53
Speaker 8: So that means guys Ronnie Stanley and Linnardbaumer back. It looks like Justice Hill could be back. That's not a big deal. Kyle Hamilton, I think was miss The big one that's I can't talked about enough is that Marcus Williams will be back. He's missed the last two games. Marks Williams is a stud free safety for them. That is a big return. But still no Marlin Humphrey. That's big because their secondary I think is those corners are gettable.
01:08:13
Speaker 2: The guy who'll be in charge of getting those corners is our offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt. You'll hear from him coming up next. She listened to Clear the Browns Daily on a fifty ESPN Cleveland.
01:08:44

01:09:14
Speaker 11: Can you give us a little idea if you can, about how DeShawn may have hurt his shoulder and what the outlook is for maybe him practicing today or where that.
01:09:24
Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, I think it came.
01:09:26
Speaker 9: I'm not exactly sure one of the runs that he had took a hit on the safety all right, you know, but we'll see today. You see how it feels when we get out there. But we're confident he'll be able to go Sunday. You know, we'll see how he's feeling today when we get out.
01:09:41
Speaker 12: What was that Tom had run?
01:09:42
Speaker 7: And I think right before the.
01:09:43
Speaker 9: Jerome TD I believe, so, yeah, not exactly sure. To be honest with you, I know, you know he got hit on it.
01:09:52
Speaker 5: And what you've seen of DeShawn so far, I mean, there's no way he's staying out of this.
01:09:56
Speaker 4: Game, right, I wouldn't expect that no.
01:10:00
Speaker 7: DTR putting him in Sunday. It was at a byproduct of Deshaun shoulder. It was at a hey, we had this thing wrapped up in hand, let's get DTR.
01:10:08
Speaker 9: Some burn, trying to get him in there, get him some work in a game that we felt like we were in control of at that point and had nothing to do with that when.
01:10:14
Speaker 2: The trainers had to come up with a sean earlier in the game and he ended up staying in. But do you immediately go to DTR and start coaching him up.
01:10:22
Speaker 4: In that situation?
01:10:23
Speaker 6: Oh?
01:10:23
Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean that's a really uh as a backup, you know, as soon as that guy goes down as wellhit where's my helmet? I gotta get my helmet. You know, your mouth starts to get a little dry. You think you're going in. So it's a good test run for him. But yeah, and as soon as that happens, it's a beauty the backup. You know, you're expected to come in and it really just you don't have time to warm up. You got to go and get hot quick. So it was a good little dry run for him to have that.
01:10:47
Speaker 4: Experience and then to get him in the game later, it was awesome.
01:10:51
Speaker 11: Alex, how much of a work in progress is it's kind of figure out how you want to use Kareem and Jerome and even Pierre, just kind of how you want to divide up those touches.
01:11:00
Speaker 9: Yeah, I think it's it's you know, it's it. It Uh, it'll flow each week to see how we're going. As Cream gets in better shape, I'd assume he'd get more touches moving forward, but you know, I really just want to keep a fresh back in at all times, whether it's for a second or third down.
01:11:14
Speaker 11: It's a nice little route for when he scored the touchdown, but that part of his game, Like how much higher do you think his ceiling is there in the past game? And how excited are you guys to kind of, you know, experiment with that.
01:11:25
Speaker 9: Yeah, No, I mean he's a weapon on the backfield as well, you know in the past game for sure. You know, he's been impressive since he's been here running routes out of the backfield and catching the ball.
01:11:35
Speaker 4: So that's an area where he'll continue to grow.
01:11:38
Speaker 8: What are your thoughts on Deshaun's game from Sunday?
01:11:41
Speaker 9: Why? Why did it go better this time? That's a tough one. I wish I could know that exactly. I'd bottle it to sell it. But yeah, he just played confident. I thought he had a great we had a great plan going in. I thought he had owned the plan across the board, know exactly what we're trying to get done, and was really made eight decisions throughout the whole game to have six and completions and two of those be throwaways. That's a really good day. So you know that's the blueprint moving forward. It's not always going to go that smoothly.
01:12:10
Speaker 4: We know that.
01:12:10
Speaker 9: But that was a really strong day of decision making, accuracy, everything that comes with quarterback play.
01:12:16
Speaker 2: Wellas has had nine targets on suddenly it is kind of how you've seen him handle kind of like bouncing back and forth between more of either received a role or running peck roll.
01:12:26
Speaker 4: How you going there using him?
01:12:27
Speaker 9: Yeah, we ask a lot out of Elijah because we know he can handle it.
01:12:30
Speaker 4: That's the thing.
01:12:31
Speaker 9: So as we keep growing with him, we'll keep finding ways to get the ball in his hands. You know, he's he's a very good runner after the catch, whether it's you know, handing it to him in the backfield, throwing him a short route, bubbles, whatever that is. You know, we're going to try to get him as many touches as we can throughout the course of the of a game.
01:12:48
Speaker 5: After the game, Watson said he felt more composed, he controlled his emotions.
01:12:53
Speaker 4: You know, it was a celebrating good plays and all is a coach.
01:12:57
Speaker 2: Can you change that or is that up to him to.
01:13:01
Speaker 4: I could help. I can definitely help.
01:13:02
Speaker 9: I didn't do a great job in Pittsburgh and that's something I learned from, you know, But moving forward, I think he has that understanding. You know, you can't play the position like a linebacker all the time, so you know, holding your emotions and just really resetting and moving on to the next play the next series. You know, that's something we all learned from in that game.
01:13:22
Speaker 10: Ma talked about the communication that they have on the field and hal a Mario has been able to kind of talk him through some things as a coach. How important is that to have a guy that can kind of read the field for him and help him as the game plays out.
01:13:35
Speaker 9: Veteran receiver like a Mari's awesome came to us very early in that game and said, hey, I.
01:13:40
Speaker 4: Think I can get by these guys outside. And he was right.
01:13:43
Speaker 9: So some of the routes that we had that were shorter, we adjusted and went to the deeper version of the routes and really paid off for us. But you're always going to listen to a guy like Marii. He's got a ton of experience. He's not going to tell you something just to get the ball. He's you know, he he he knows how important is to you know, give us real looks and real thoughts, and he does and and then we obviously have a lot of respect for him, and you know, and if he says it, you know, we'll give it a shot for sure.
01:14:07
Speaker 12: You know, what would you.
01:14:09
Speaker 5: Have done differently in Pittsburgh to keep you know, Deshaun a little bit more centered in me?
01:14:14
Speaker 9: And I could have probably reset him a few more times than as opposed to just letting him be upset and angry, you know at times. So you know, I put that on myself as much as anything. That relationship that we have to have on game day has to be very you know, calm, and just going from play to play after each series and just talking through things and getting them ready for the next series.
01:14:36
Speaker 4: I could have definitely done.
01:14:36
Speaker 5: Better seeing from the Ravens defense dealing with all the injuries, if they had to make a bunch of judgin set.
01:14:44
Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean they're they're beat up with the injury bug. You know, it's just the way it goes in this league. They're they're they're good. They they've been doing what they do for a long time. Within their scheme, They're tough to get ready for. There's just a lot there's a lot of defense they put on the field, fronts, coverages, pressures, everything. So anytime you get ready for Baltimore Defense, you know you're gonna spend the extra hours getting ready because they again, they present you with a lot of different looks and they're very sound in their scheme and they understand what they're doing regardless if the starters are in there or not.
01:15:14
Speaker 11: It seems like you guys were forced feeding Elijah Moore a little bit Sunday.
01:15:18
Speaker 6: Do you guys think it's just a matter of time before he pops home? Thought?
01:15:21
Speaker 8: Is this kicks close to the ability?
01:15:23
Speaker 4: Oh? Yeah, for sure, I do. I mean he is dynamic with the ball in his hand.
01:15:26
Speaker 9: He's gonna make guys miss at times and he's got the speed to run away, so a matter of time before he pops a big one even without Marlin.
01:15:33
Speaker 2: Are those guys in the back end as physical as they usually.
01:15:36
Speaker 9: Are with the receivers they are? You know, twenty one plays really physical on the left side. You know the guys in the right, they're kind of rotating in and out. But it's a physical defense. It's one thing we've talked about. Play a lot of man coverage at times, so we have to be able to beat man when they give us those opportunities outside. But they will definitely get up in your face at the line of scrimmage and make it tough for you to release.
01:15:56
Speaker 5: What are you seeing out of cloudy?
01:15:58
Speaker 6: How does he fit with that scheme?
01:16:00
Speaker 4: Good?
01:16:00
Speaker 9: I mean, he's you know, he's a dynamic guy. He's explosive and quick and long. There's a lot of things that you know that he can be disruptive on. But he looks like the same guy the Hamilton flitzed a lot from the nickel position.
01:16:14
Speaker 2: I know he didn't practice yesterday, but is that something was there one game thing?
01:16:18
Speaker 6: You think for them? He didn't show it. I don't think theycre that.
01:16:21
Speaker 9: Yeah, No, I don't think. I think they're the kind of feeling through their injuries as well. I mean, he was playing safety earlier in the season and with the injuries moved down into the nickel spot, and I think they feel like he's a good blitzer, and he is, so they're probably just playing his strings.
01:16:34
Speaker 2: All right, thatught you're offensive coordinator Alex van Pelt. Now for the matchup, presented by Ballet Bat sports betting partner your Clay, the Browns aut live in Ohio. We go to Duc Dizzy.
01:16:43
Speaker 8: All right, let me talk to you. Browns on offense number ten, total offense number four, rushing attack number twenty one passing. They are eleventh in scoring, twenty second on third downs. Now, the good news is the Ravens are twenty fourth on third down defense. Browns third in the red zone, so that's very good. The Ravens solid D so far, total D ten, rush D eight past the eleven points per game eighth. They will play a lot of man coverage. They're currently playing forty percent man coverage, that is the fifth most in the NFL. They are running cover zero blitzes on nine point five percent of plays, that is third most in the NFL, so they are not afraid to bring the house and try to get atcha So who do they got, Well, not a whole lot of names. You know, only two Pro bowlers on the defense, Rokwan Smith a year ago, Marlon Humphrey as well, but Marlon Humphrey is out. Then you think about guys who've ever been to a Pro Bowl at any point in their career. The only other one is Jadevian Clowney. So that's what they've got. That's who they are. Not a ton of talent, but they have gotten it done. They're very big upfront. Michael Pierce in the nose tackles three fifty five, Broderick Washington's three point fifteen. They got Travis Jones out of yukon of three thirty eight, Justin Madabek three zero five, So they're big upfront three four. They'll love the two stand ups on the outside. Now It'sway and Ojabo or the starters. But Genevian Clowney, imagine, is going to play a lot in this one. And he's got one and a half sacks so far this year, thirteen pressures to lead the team. Now what's interesting is they just signed Kyle van Noy, and you wonder how much he will play because if Ojabo and Oway are out, it's gonna be Clowney and then either Tavius Robinson, their fourth round pick this year out of Ole, Miss was the first player to ever be drafted from the University of gulif In, Ontario. All Right, I don't know if I said that, right, g U L E p H.
01:18:35
Speaker 2: You need the ambassador Coole, I wouldn't have a point of referenced, no idea.
01:18:38
Speaker 8: Or it's gonna be Jeremiah Moon, who sounds like he should be the brother of Jackieman with the Tropics. He is in his first year out of Florida as an undrafted free agent a year ago. Neither of them have a career sack. In fact, Moon made his NFL debut last week, so they are down pass rushers.
01:18:56
Speaker 6: Now.
01:18:56
Speaker 8: Van Ney's a pro. He's had five plus sacks and four straight seasons, but he was just signed this week, So how you know what? There's shape and then there's football shape. As we all well know. In their secondary Kyle Hamilton unbelievable three sacks tied the single game record for a defensive back last time person do was Jamal Adams. He is the youngest ever to do it. He had two sacks versus the Browns last year, one in each game. Those were his only sacks as a rookie. But so far he leads the team with three sacks. He's got a pass defense, he's got a force fumble, two tackles for loss, three quarterback hits. He's all over the place, so he's done very well. Then they get Marcus Williams back. Marcus Williams had four picks and ten games for them a year ago, nineteen interceptions total. He's got two more interceptions every season. That's big corners get able. Get tub Bull. Brandon Stevens last week targeted twelve times, nine catches, ninety three yards. He'll start for Marlin Humphrey. I think the Browns can test him, a third round pick out of SMU. Then you've got Ronald Darby, a veteran who is he's on his fifteen I think you can go after Darby eight career interceptions, Rocky a Scene two career interceptions, he didn't play much. And then they've got Geno Stones the other safety as Baltimore's only interception this season. But this is not a great secondary. Their pass rush without Oway and Ojabo actually that takes a hit. In eight Oway was averaging four pressure is a game, even though he hadn't gotten a sack yet, he was averaging four pressures a game. And Ojabo had in two games a sack, a hit, couple of pressures, many tackles. So those guys were big in what they're doing.
01:20:29
Speaker 2: Now.
01:20:30
Speaker 8: The best part of this defense the linebackers. They have the two best inside linebackers in the NFL YEP. I think maybe you could the Niners Warner and green Law that would be. This is the fcqual that Rokwan Smith Pro Bowler, All Pro last year one hundred and sixty nine tackles. John Harbaugh said he is the best leader that I've coached since ray Lewis Wow, which is a big statement from him. And then Patrick Queen last year one hundred and seventeen tackles, five sacks. He had a sack against the brown So you got to watch out for him. Those guys play every single snap, yep, so they will be out there and so that's that's what you gotta do it for the Browns. You know, your ground game last week wasn't obviously what it had been earlier in the season. The Browns first two weeks with Nick Chub averaging thirty seven and a half carries two hundred two yards five point four yards of cary. Last week thirty one rushes seventy eight yards two point five. But don't forget Tennessee has been a historic run defense. Uh and really what you want to see continue this is the trend to watch from a clean pocket. All quarterbacks struggle from pressure, but from a clean pocket. Deshaun Watson weeks one and two sixty two and a half percent completion six yards for attempt two touchdowns one pick eighty four rating, last week ninety two percent, nine point nine yards for attempt two touchdowns one thirty four point seven rating. You want to look at tequila, I feel like swashbuckling. Was that of fencing? Was that offense?
01:21:46
Speaker 2: Swashbuckling? FeelA?
01:21:47
Speaker 8: My god, you gotta love tequila.
01:21:49
Speaker 2: But how about a Mario Northeast Ohio Zoro?
01:21:51
Speaker 8: He is I like that. He could be my sidekick, my Zoro sidekick.
01:21:55
Speaker 2: You could be Zoro. He could be Bernardo, Yeah, Bernardo Yeah. Get you a couple of t rusty steeds.
01:22:02
Speaker 8: Amari Cooper has now six games with one hundred yards and a touchdown. Yeah, as a member of the Cleveland He's good ninety plus the last two games. You only had one game with ninety yards with Shaun Watson in twenty twenty two. That was a big game, one hundred and five against Washington. All right.

01:23:49
Speaker 5: Get it worked out, all right? Tweet your questions to Brown's Underscore daily for our defense coming me. Claydo says the Northern Fright is in Northern Lights or marauders of the Midwest. I not feel any any.
01:24:08
Speaker 2: Of those sponsors of the Midway feel to it.
01:24:10
Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, how about the orange wave from Steve Fraynia. If we were on like an ocean.
01:24:16
Speaker 2: Maybe where the Browns. That's the only problem with the orange is where the browns. Yeah, so that's why that's tough.
01:24:22
Speaker 8: The brown out. Nobody wants that little brown at us.
01:24:28
Speaker 2: Wasn't there a what about the Guns and Roses song? Mister Brownstone? Yeah, Brownstone Defense, and then you could play that song. I don't even know the lyrics to that song and say, I don't know what he's even the last time I heard no, no, that's guns and Roses. The last time I heard that song was I don't know. I was twelve, so I'm not sure what the lyrics were. I remember thinking it really rocked back then.
01:24:52
Speaker 5: I mean say it confidently.
01:24:56
Speaker 8: Oh doctor, feel good defense. We could play feel good.
01:25:00
Speaker 5: There you go. I asked the Great z this from Joe Ross. What's the number our offense needs to get to for you to feel confident in a win this weekend?
01:25:11
Speaker 2: The point number?
01:25:12
Speaker 5: Yeah, twenty four, that's what I was thinking.
01:25:19
Speaker 8: Four. Oh goodness, gracious, we've only giving up three points at home both games.
01:25:26
Speaker 5: All right, So we can't use in doing a quick Google search someone sent me doing a quick talk about that on.
01:25:33
Speaker 2: A quick Google search, I can tell you we cannot use mister Brownstone as a song out.
01:25:39
Speaker 8: Yeah, twenty four would make it feel really good. I feel like we would beat them with twenty four for sure. Four points though, if we can keep doing we're doing.
01:25:45
Speaker 4: Why not.
01:25:47
Speaker 8: We've outscored our opponents fifty one to six at home. Gentlemen, that's one to six.
01:25:52
Speaker 2: Let's go. This is one Brownstone.
01:25:55
Speaker 5: You don't have this question, but I think slated to talk to the media tomorrow. This is from Dog Pound. Nick Brown's O line assistant coach Scott Peters was mentioned on The Joe Rogan Experience by jiu Jitsu legend Eddie Bravo. Do any players train with him on a consistent basis He's.
01:26:13
Speaker 8: The one who teaches them all the hand fighting and striking.
01:26:16
Speaker 2: Yes, yes, experience.
01:26:25
Speaker 5: I mean, look, don really to describe that on a radio station.
01:26:31
Speaker 2: That requires a dumpee, uh Colton.
01:26:36
Speaker 5: Too early to give up on INJIGBA fantasy wise, Yes.
01:26:40
Speaker 8: Yeah, that's one.
01:26:44
Speaker 2: Going up with him, going up to him and saying I need you like trying to get him, I need you stay locked in like that type of stuff. That's on me. I'll get it right at the game. He was miked up. He was on inside the UNFL this week. Yeah, well, okay, let's hope that it leads to something. I gotta lead to something.
01:27:01
Speaker 5: Man, Let's see a little. Uh, there's some weird ones this week. Let's go Bobby time.
01:27:11
Speaker 2: Bobby, Bobby, where's the worst smelling place you've ever been? Septic tank of a slaughterhouse? Pretty bad, disgusting, you asked, He asked.
01:27:33
Speaker 8: I've been.
01:27:34
Speaker 5: Actually, that's what it smelled like at Akroscher Stadium we walked into. I'm pretty confident we were literally emptying the septic right there.
01:27:41
Speaker 4: We walked.
01:27:42
Speaker 8: I don't know what the heck guy was asking.
01:27:43
Speaker 5: It was welcome to flank Bird.
01:27:45
Speaker 4: You know that.
01:27:46
Speaker 8: It was daytime, it was hot, and I was at a festival or something and I had to go to a port of body.
01:27:54
Speaker 2: And it was just like, yeah, he did. That's I mean, come on next, Bobby, be bad, but we don't want to get Probably gave him one hundred. That's when he chose we can't, we can't. We gotta stay keep us in a good mood. Here on a third, which.
01:28:08
Speaker 5: Part of the roller coaster do you ride in front, middle or back?
01:28:11
Speaker 8: Front? Front? Front? Love the front seat, I do, but I can't. I'd rather be back in the middle.
01:28:16
Speaker 2: I'm not gonna I'll do this. It's not worth the extra line for me. Erroneous you think it isn't I really don't care.
01:28:21
Speaker 5: Like it doesn't happen often, erroneous front front or back back?
01:28:25
Speaker 8: Yeah, vl Raven, you want to be in that front seat like it's a whole different There.
01:28:31
Speaker 2: Are certain specifically where that is, yes for sure, but also like in general, I don't know that to me, it doesn't feel like that make of a difference.
01:28:39
Speaker 5: When does soup season start started? Never stopped us?
01:28:43
Speaker 8: Yeah?
01:28:43
Speaker 5: Downstairs?
01:28:44
Speaker 2: Were what are they got going down there?
01:28:46
Speaker 8: Today was a turkey like Middle Eastern spice soup that was very good.
01:28:51
Speaker 2: Oh I missed those soups.
01:28:52
Speaker 8: Oh yeah. I ended up putting a little turkey burger in there, a little lamb in there.
01:28:55
Speaker 2: Yeah, you do that. You like to like take the beats and put it into the hot sauce.
01:28:59
Speaker 5: Although there's a sacha shortage. That's why we don't have any siracha downstairs. There is a stage.
01:29:05
Speaker 8: Shortage, that's it.
01:29:08
Speaker 5: How could you politely end a conversation with a person who was so annoying? I told that ger he's dumb, and then we move on.
01:29:16
Speaker 2: Just coming from with angles that are Oh yeah, well you're dumb.
01:29:22
Speaker 8: I mean you're like fourth through three insults her brutal. Oh yeah, you know what I do is I pretend that I get a phone call and say I have to go in the middle of an interview. That's what you do. That's what that's good. That's good.
01:29:40
Speaker 5: He's gotten poor things or is someone's gonna think about it.
01:29:43
Speaker 8: Let me get back to get it back.
