ChristCentered Coaches: Everybody loves a good story. And that's why we are going to do a whole series for you that it's all about some of the best stories that we have heard here on our Christ centered coaches channel. We love talking about Christ, testifying about Christ, and meeting other people who are doing the same online. So sometimes we're going to have some episodes where you get the whole thing, but this that we're bringing to you here is some of our favorite stories from our last year of recordings. I hope you enjoy learning a bit from these stories about Jesus Christ.
Coach Tera: There were many, many years of sadness and grieving and. Let's be honest, a little wallowing, maybe a lot of wallowing in my sadness and grief at the loss of what I thought my life should be. Very depressed at, there were two different times in my life where I was very, very depressed And through lots of help, Sometimes help I sought, sometimes help I didn't seek, but came my way anyways. I remember one of the other moments that I remember where I feel like my Heavenly Father was talking to me. I think it was Elder Worthlin giving a talk that says, again, I'm not going to quote it perfectly, come what may and love it. And at the same time, I remember reading in church history, I'm so bad at referencing. whatever. Someone somewhere said something like, if I didn't go to this church, where would I go? if I didn't believe this, what else is there? And even though I was very, very depressed and really struggling, I was very clear that there was nowhere else for me to go, that Christ, and the restoration of his gospel, the latter day access to priesthood power and covenants and especially to the temple was something I was really clear. I didn't want anything else. I didn't really want that. either at this, you know, at that really low point, I wasn't like going to the temple or, or, know, anything I was, it was, but I didn't, there wasn't anything else. And so there comes a moment, I think everybody who has experienced depression or anxiety or grief, there comes a moment where I believe that the spirit knows that it's time to kind of nudge you into a rising. starting to get up. And sometimes that starting to get up is legitimately just getting out of bed and taking a shower and getting back into bed. And that at that moment, that one step up, that one rise can start the momentum. And that's what I experienced was a choice that one day it was a choice to get up and to not. go back to nothing. And it was very small steps. It was a long time. It was a lot of help. My family, I don't, there are not words to express or describe the gratitude I have for my family support. And then just choosing joy. I get to choose. I get to control what I choose to do and what I choose to think. everything else is out of my control. And so until there's a better option, I'm going to choose whenever I can to assume the best and to choose joy and to say it's going to work out. Now, is that naivety? Is that looking at everything through rose colored glasses? Maybe. I'm okay with that. If I end this life and someone says, wow, you really wasted your life looking at it through rose colored glasses, I'm going to be like, Okay. So I did.
