ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Does everything I make need the same identity just because I'm the same person making it?
For years, Z8phyR became the dominant container for my creative work. That wasn't a mistake — it was the first identity I really developed professionally, and it gave me releases, a catalog, history, an audience, and a lot of skills I still use today.
But eventually I started asking one identity to explain too much.
In this episode of Chillin with the Breeze, I talk through why separating creative identities doesn't necessarily mean fragmenting yourself. Sometimes different kinds of work simply need different rooms.
I get into my old beatmaker name D.M.I.X., why rap and beat production feel like different creative promises, how the skills I learned through Z8phyR transfer into everything else I build, and why I sometimes think of Z8phyR as a Gundam suit I pilot when I want to make melodic progressive house.
The goal isn't to hide behind different names.
It's to make the rooms clear while making sure people can still tell the same person built the house.
Different rooms. Same house.
