ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Your identity as a follower of Jesus is not determined by your job, your past, or what others think of you. In Matthew 5:13-16, Jesus declares that His followers are salt and light. These are not goals to strive toward but statements of who you already are. Salt preserves, flavors, and creates thirst. Light exposes darkness and points others to Christ. The danger is that faith can be watered down, especially when what you consume daily shapes you more than Scripture does. You are an ambassador for Christ, and that identity calls for intentional, Spirit-filled living.

Anger, lust, and divorce are not random struggles. They are targeted attacks on the relationships God designed for our good. Jesus raised the standard in the Sermon on the Mount, making clear that the problem begins in the heart long before it shows up in behavior. Unresolved anger rots us from the…
In Matthew 5, Jesus addresses oaths and vows as part of the Sermon on the Mount, calling His followers to a higher standard of honesty and integrity.
