Dan Shulda: Gonna try it out. Gonna try it out. But we'll see how it goes. We'll see we'll see if we get increase in fan base or if they start you know, disliking us. So we'll have this.
THE CHUNK: Yeah. I I I I I like being the villain. I'm I'm I'm on board. What do you think, Bagger? Why not? Why not? Hey,
Dan Shulda: Yeah. Why not? Why not? We can do that. We can do that. Sure. We can be bad ones for a while.
THE CHUNK: that's right, that's right. Hey, we got a we got a pretty good show for you guys lined up today. No guests. Bagger and I are just kinda going through the series of just talking for the off season stuff. And when we get around a little more s shooters, we'll get more guests back on the show, go back to our original format which was Which was really fun. I enjoyed that 'cause we got to interview a lot of guys, so but yeah. We're gonna just
Dan Shulda: Yeah. Get some good content.
THE CHUNK: th this the Vegas shoot ended last week or ended Monday. Was it? Yeah. Sunday it ended. So the the Vegas shoot ended. I heard there was
Dan Shulda: Yeah. Sunday or Sunday, I think. Yeah. I should
THE CHUNK: I heard there was a lot of people there. the lot My God, that that's great to hear. That's great to hear.
Dan Shulda: Six over six hundred people at that event. Now I I don't know if that was totally unique. Yeah. Yeah.
THE CHUNK: Old Steve Carmichael over there, he's doing a hell of a job putting on a hell of a show. So I hope
Dan Shulda: Yeah.
THE CHUNK: hope that keeps up. And then this week or this coming week, you got Arizona. So that's Tucson, that's gonna
Dan Shulda: Yep. Down a two something a fall grand.
THE CHUNK: be a hell of a hell of a shoot too. So if you guys get out there, you can go check that out. I I've never been, but Bagger and I are next year. We're making a we're gonna make our we're gonna do our world tour. We're gonna hit Vegas and
Dan Shulda: Word. Yeah.
THE CHUNK: Tucson, but Yeah, so we had we had those shoots going on. We got coming up, we got Toys for the Toys for Tots at Newman Swamp Rats. It's Saturday Sunday deal. Esther's
Dan Shulda: Yep. Saturday, Sunday deal. Yep.
THE CHUNK: throwing a hell of a hell of a program with three hundred target Saturday bagger.
Dan Shulda: Yeah, three hundred Saturday, two hundred on Sunday, singles and handicapped, but then she has an optional targets only doubles. So I know
THE CHUNK: Ooh Hey
Dan Shulda: I know a few people are planning to camp out and if if we get this out in time, we know Friday they're actually having a handicapped marathon or sorry, a doubles marathon on Friday. So eleven
THE CHUNK: Hey, alright. There you there you go.
Dan Shulda: six.
THE CHUNK: There you go. Alright, so if you guys get a chance, get head on down there to to Newman, the Toys Retots. I I'm not unfortunately won't be able to make it. But back are you gonna be there? Good.
Dan Shulda: Yeah, yeah, I'm gonna head over there. Saturday. I don't know if I shoot decent. Maybe I'll try and get back over Sunday, but
THE CHUNK: Go get the pull over the side of the road, sleep, then go back the next day.
Dan Shulda: That's right. Yeah, I've I've I've looked at hotels in that area and they they leave a lot to be desired, but
THE CHUNK: Yeah, you know, you always you're gonna have a friend in those hotels. It's gonna be the it's gonna be the Roach Motel. But yeah, hey That's it. Well good.
Dan Shulda: I think the the true meaning of a a roach motel, but Yeah, so
THE CHUNK: So th those are the only really shoots coming up. of course everybody's got every every club's got their winter league in full force and effect. We do. We started it la yesterday, Wednesday. So that was fun.
Dan Shulda: Yep. Yeah.
THE CHUNK: This is our first ever Iron Man league. And what that means is
Dan Shulda: Ha ha.
THE CHUNK: It just it's all individual. No team, nothing. So I hope guys are enjoying it. And
Dan Shulda: No teams, no nothing. Go shoot in the dark.
THE CHUNK: in the dark, in we actually our club has been gracious enough, our parking lot is filled with portable lights. it's the sun just coming from behind us, which is pretty cool and we kinda were trying to convince management to put it out so we could see the targets in the field. But
Dan Shulda: These are targets. Yeah. Yeah.
THE CHUNK: Yeah, it was fun. It's it's different shooting at night, I'll tell ya. You can be really good or you can be really bad.
Dan Shulda: Yeah, yeah, that's what guys were saying last night. A lot of guys were tried shooting it at when the sun was just setting and and they had the
THE CHUNK: Yeah.
Dan Shulda: there wasn't very many good scores that come through last night.
THE CHUNK: No, I waited I I shot right when the sun set. No bueno. Then I waited when it got darker I said, Okay, this is better. The less I the
Dan Shulda: Yeah.
THE CHUNK: the less light I had around me, the better I saw the target. So that was that that was interesting. Yeah.
Dan Shulda: Yeah, no, I th I I think that's I think that I think it's you either you and I I experienced the same thing at Sunnyvale when we were doing those practice rounds up there the last month. That
THE CHUNK: yeah.
Dan Shulda: when that sun is going down, you're better just let it get dark. you know,
THE CHUNK: Yeah, let it get dark.
Dan Shulda: it just your eyes adjust better to let the light do their thing and but yeah, it was it it was fun. You know, I always like to hear guys come off the line and complain and whatever Will Woodford had the best excuse of the night last night though. He
THE CHUNK: Smoky.
Dan Shulda: Smokey he he said he had a rock in his shoe and so we so we gotta add that to our list of excuses.
THE CHUNK: Yeah could have had that. We We gotta get our our quarterback playbook so we have it on our wrist and then we'll we'll put our list of excuses there so when anybody asks
Dan Shulda: Let's have it on our wrist so we can call that up at any moment. Yeah.
THE CHUNK: we can just flip. I like twenty seven today, rockin' shoe. But that's awesome, that's awesome. So yeah, Bagger
Dan Shulda: There you go. There you go. That's what we need. That's pretty good, but
THE CHUNK: so the to everybody out there bagger and I are gonna there's a couple issues that we kinda been experiencing. I guess. And we just wanna talk about and let you guys aware what's going on and and maybe if you know a solution you can help us out. So what do you think, Bagger? Should we we lay it on You we have to. Yeah.
Dan Shulda: we have to. I think it it's on everybody's mind and and like you said, both of us talked to the same guy today and had the same issue. So let's dive
THE CHUNK: Yep. So
Dan Shulda: in.
THE CHUNK: all right, if if you listeners don't know by now, that any part now that you order has got to be has got to be shipped to an FFL. So the bag and I were talking to my my good buddy, Jim the Wiz White, who's you know, where we get almost all our Pirazzi parts from. And he he now could not ship to California, he's gotta ship it to an FFL. And it's gotta be a registered part, no matter what it is. It could be your trigger spring, it could be the little selector switch, it can be anything, any part of any gun has got to be registered.
Dan Shulda: Any any yeah, any gun part, right?
THE CHUNK: Yeah.
Dan Shulda: So I I found the the this is how far it went today. I had to check. I bought some threaded wood inserts and he said no. He said I'm that that's okay. He goes, 'cause that could
THE CHUNK: Yeah, it's okay.
Dan Shulda: be purchased and used at any wood store. But a few other things I ordered
THE CHUNK: Right. But
Dan Shulda: I ordered some comb spacers, metal rings, and
THE CHUNK: Baces.
Dan Shulda: they're considered gun parts, spacers.
THE CHUNK: That we can make out of a piece of pipe.
Dan Shulda: I can I can go buy some pipe. I can go buy the spacers at at Ace Hardware and trim down, whatever, machine down
THE CHUNK: Yeah.
Dan Shulda: to what I need. and but
THE CHUNK: No
Dan Shulda: yeah, their gun parts have to have sent to an FFL.
THE CHUNK: So this happened to me a couple of months ago. I was helping a guy fix his beretta. The the top lever. There's a little like like a cam in there that broke and I went to order the part and I think I went to some beretta part dealer online and I called they said, Hey, you need to F F L this I said, Why? It's just a camera, it's not an action or a barrel or anything. I mean, w you know, what are you talking about? They said no, all parts going into California now have to be F F L so and it took me three weeks to get the part. They it got here, but then I had to wait for my F F L 'cause they didn't know quite what was going on. And then they had to register the part and I had to go and and get it. Now, I didn't have to wait the ten days or anything like that. You just
Dan Shulda: Right.
THE CHUNK: have to register it and it has to be shipped to an F F L and they give it to you right there. So, but this is a problem, bagger. This is a big problem. I th you know
Dan Shulda: It's huge. It's huge. it's
THE CHUNK: What are we
Dan Shulda: it
THE CHUNK: gonna do? most of our stuff for sportsmen, every year, a at the beginning of every year I from my pirates I ordered, I get brand new trigger springs and then a couple other like a s new spring kit and I so I can they know the gun's gonna be great for the year. But we got guys that are shooting much more than us, you know, they're shooting over fifty thousand rounds, I mean w you know, the guns need to be serviced, they How how are we supposed to service them if we can't get parts?
Dan Shulda: Yeah. it it and and we kinda joked about this off off offline is it it's creating a criminal, right? Because so what do you do, right? think of it, you just talked
THE CHUNK: Yeah Mua?
Dan Shulda: about the shoot down in Tucson, right? If
THE CHUNK: Yeah.
Dan Shulda: if if I was going down there and assuming that there's somebody a gunsmith down there that can work on a parazi, I'll just have do it there, right? Or I'll
THE CHUNK: Yeah.
Dan Shulda: pick up the parts that I need there and bring back. And and it it's just yeah.
THE CHUNK: It's just I don't understand it. It's it's it's I understand we have a problem w in California is targeting the three D printing guns and and things of that nature. 'Cause these
Dan Shulda: Yeah.
THE CHUNK: guys will three D print like a whole Glock and then they'll just go purchase springs and stuff and then th they'll make it a a working gun. I I don't know if I would shoot it because God knows I I wouldn't trust a three D printed gun. But you know
Dan Shulda: I don't think I would.
THE CHUNK: it's It's just insane for sportsmen like us, honest guys, what are we gonna w is like if something happens, we don't have a part to our gun, we're gonna we're not gonna be able to shoot 'cause we're gonna have to ship it to somebody to fix. And then hopefully they have the part. Or if they don't have the part, then they're gonna have to order the part, F F L so that's you know, you're looking at weeks, months, maybe a year to get your gun fixed and how how are we supposed to how are you supposed to shoot?
Dan Shulda: Yeah, it's it's we know many guys and I I don't know about you, it's probably I I got I I have I have a a second Pirazi, but I don't ever I don't ever think of it as a backup gun, right?
THE CHUNK: No.
Dan Shulda: it it's there and and in fact I I put a T S K stock on it and I had to the wood handle, the wooden pistol grip, right, had to go through an FFL. It's a chunk of wood with a bolt in it.
THE CHUNK: Didn't that that yeah, that's just a grip. It i
Dan Shulda: Yeah.
THE CHUNK: it's not e and you you ask your question, all right, well where's this stop? Where are are are we gonna have to register Kiki's pads now? and that's
Dan Shulda: it it
THE CHUNK: just the that's just a piece of rubber. And
Dan Shulda: Yeah.
THE CHUNK: I'm not sure what we need to do. I don't know if there's anything we can do, but I I I I'm really shocked because throughout the year I I'm ordering parts all the time. And I I'm not gonna be we're gonna be able to order the part but on the other end of this is some guys don't even wanna deal with it and they won't even ship us the part now because that that's the the
Dan Shulda: Well that yeah, that that's
THE CHUNK: that's another issue all altogether.
Dan Shulda: Yeah, that's the that's the other half of the equation is that they're just getting tired of dealing with it, right? I I know I I bought a a gun from a lady in in Nevada, Alarino, and
THE CHUNK: Yeah. Yeah.
Dan Shulda: she completely forgot about the whole entire registration for her in on her end to ship it to California.
THE CHUNK: Y Yeah, that's right, yeah.
Dan Shulda: And it it I mean I didn't need the gun at the time. It wasn't like I needed it that weekend to go shoot, but it was about a four week delay. She had to go back and find her registration
THE CHUNK: Yeah.
Dan Shulda: numbers and her login and and I I understand why these guys don't want to deal with us in in California,
THE CHUNK: Yeah, I do too. if you're gonna if you're gonna do something like this, at least have a set way of doing this and make it easy. Okay, it's a spring. w I mean, you're gonna FFL a spring? I I can take the spring out of a pen. Is that a f is that a gun part now? I mean w I I just I
Dan Shulda: Yeah. It's it's
THE CHUNK: d I I it really it's it's really terrible for us shooters who who are competing throughout the year and knowing that Alright, well there's par parazi guys, trigger springs, you always need those with you. And now, we either gotta A stock up or make sure we find somebody that will ship to California to an F F L then we need to go get so we gotta plan a whole probably a month ahead of time so we can get this so we can have our our parts.
Dan Shulda: So do we know, have you ever tried to order anything directly from Parazi USA and just have it shipped here to
THE CHUNK: Yeah.
Dan Shulda: here locally?
THE CHUNK: They used to but n they won't now. No.
Dan Shulda: Okay. 'Cause it's still consid so it still has to go through even though in state it it has to go through an FFL.
THE CHUNK: That's an interesting point. If it's in the state already, yeah, one if they sell it, they have to FFL it. So if
Dan Shulda: Cool.
THE CHUNK: they sell the part to me, even though we're in California, then that part has to go to an FFL dealer, then it has to get transferred to me. So it's like
Dan Shulda: Yeah.
THE CHUNK: it's almost like a transfer. even
Dan Shulda: Okay.
THE CHUNK: if somebody in your family wants to transfer you a firearm or something like that, you have
Dan Shulda: Yep, yep.
THE CHUNK: to go down that it's the same principle behind it. And it's just
Dan Shulda: Yeah.
THE CHUNK: it's insane. I don't know what we're gonna do.
Dan Shulda: I mean you're but what you're looking at is, you know, like you said, you're stocking up. It'd be interesting
THE CHUNK: Yeah.
Dan Shulda: to call Parazi USA down there, Azusa, next to our old buddy Lucio and
THE CHUNK: Yeah. Yeah.
Dan Shulda: I'm just wondering if you go down there and you buy a spring kit, right?
THE CHUNK: you he'll just he just has to F F L it to you. It's it's one thing if the F F L dealer that the guy you're dealing with is a F F L and has the parts. That's fine. But it's the guys from like 'cause most of our parts are are coming from out of state You know, for Pirati guys, we can go down to Azusa, Pacific Sporting Arms or Parazzi USA or Lucio down there and we can go buy our parts and they can just they can do it right there if they have So
Dan Shulda: Yeah.
THE CHUNK: that that's the thing. But what does a Kragoff guy do? What does what's a Browning guy do? I mean I know Brownies are just you know can pull parts off a bicycle and put in there. But you know, what what's
Dan Shulda: Yeah.
THE CHUNK: what what's the Kohler guy do? What I mean, Beretta, what do you
Dan Shulda: you're
THE CHUNK: do?
Dan Shulda: you're you're you're forced to ship it back.
THE CHUNK: Yeah.
Dan Shulda: you know, the from here, the the the closest Craig off gunsmith that I know is in Colorado Springs.
THE CHUNK: Yeah.
Dan Shulda: then you can go to Craighoff, USA in the Midwest, or you can go to in Florida, right? Craig. And but again now okay now you're shipping it, right? And I think I think they finally just acknowledged that I think you can now ship a gun again through the United States Postal Service, right?
THE CHUNK: Do you want to?
Dan Shulda: Well, we can we can put in a plug for trophies and more, right? They it sh yeah. I mean,
THE CHUNK: Trophies and more
Dan Shulda: I you know, did. I signed up with those guys. I just I looked at what I looked at what I have. I don't
THE CHUNK: Yeah.
Dan Shulda: travel with every gun that I have, but man man, if if if something if somebody or someone happened to find my stash
THE CHUNK: There
Dan Shulda: it it's it's thousand easily thousand you know, tens of thousands of dollars, easily.
THE CHUNK: So th they're th those guy trophies and more as an insurance agency. Okay, so you charge your
Dan Shulda: Yes, yeah, yeah.
THE CHUNK: for there's a bunch of there's a couple of I've been noticing more and more actually in the we get the program books for the big shoots. In the back there
Dan Shulda: Yep. Yeah.
THE CHUNK: there's some there's some advertisements for specific insurance for sportsmen like us with the with guns and stuff like that. Yeah. It's a thing. It's a thing.
Dan Shulda: Yeah, 'cause just just for the for those of you at home, if you don't realize this, check your home policy because
THE CHUNK: That too.
Dan Shulda: I thought that the I thought your home policy would cover some amount of you know, guns and they don't. I mean you if y no firearms.
THE CHUNK: They don't count no, no farm. Especially state farm.
Dan Shulda: Yeah. The so yeah, I mean if you you know and and I I just under the hopes of traveling a little bit more. I mean we had two buddies of ours that we we know their the back of their car got broke into and took three guns and springs and I mean bags and
THE CHUNK: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Everything.
Dan Shulda: all kinds of stuff.
THE CHUNK: Yeah, it's yeah. So I I don't know.
Dan Shulda: So
THE CHUNK: It it just i i the sport I I I'm gonna k shoot till the day I die, no matter what. And they're not gonna take this sport
Dan Shulda: Yeah.
THE CHUNK: I if I have to sit out there and just throw a claybird with a BB gun, I will. But it just they're making it so tough on us.
Dan Shulda: Yeah.
THE CHUNK: It it's insane. I I I just I I wish you know what I I th what I hate the most is these guys making these laws are are guys that have never shot in a tournament or never been around an ATA or or a South Bay, a North Bay, never even stepped foot in a gun club because they have this stigma against it. But
Dan Shulda: Yeah.
THE CHUNK: if they made these rules and were and actively went to see a gun club and to a tournament, all right, well then fine. But these guys They don't see the other side of the sport. No.
Dan Shulda: They don't see the side. look at take a great example. Two two shoots that we we both love, right? Golden West Grand. How many families do you see out there? Right?
THE CHUNK: Yeah. Yeah, baby.
Dan Shulda: And and they're not just there. I mean, yes, some people come for the day, but you know, look at look when that place lights up at the end of the day, right? All those R Vers out there that you get a
THE CHUNK: A majority? They're there for the week. Yeah. Yeah.
Dan Shulda: you know, get a little campfire going and, you know,
THE CHUNK: Yeah.
Dan Shulda: sitting around and sharing stories and it and preserving the past. And, the young kids are coming in, they want to shoot. you see the smiles on their faces, kids breaking their first twenty-five, right? kid
THE CHUNK: yeah.
Dan Shulda: getting a new new gun, Kim Hughes, right? When we interviewed her, getting the shotgun back from her father after how many years, a as a child. And and those it it's I get it, right? There's there's always gonna be Accidents, gun safety, I want that. I want gun safety, right? But I don't want
THE CHUNK: So yeah.
Dan Shulda: it so pinched down that I I I can't go and do something.
THE CHUNK: No, you pretty soon you can't even look at a gun. You everything I mean it's like that now. We I mean you can't go anywhere and look at a Krigoff or a Pirozi. You gotta go to the specialty guys.
Dan Shulda: No. you said, you can we can still get guns. It is it is hard to do, but
THE CHUNK: Yeah. Yeah.
Dan Shulda: it man, it it's just you know, the the guns I I don't even have a problem with a ten day wait for a gun. I if I buy a gun, I mean, yeah, I'm excited. Don't get me wrong. I I love, you know, hey, I'm there, I'm on there, you know, day ten, you know.
THE CHUNK: Me neither. Don't matter. Yeah. The the ten day wait the ten day wait's kinda
Dan Shulda: One hour.
THE CHUNK: good 'cause you get to prepare and and plan a little bit. When you once you
Dan Shulda: Ha ha ha ha.
THE CHUNK: get it you can where you're gonna go shoot, where you're gonna that
Dan Shulda: Yeah.
THE CHUNK: that that don't that doesn't bother me. It just y you know, it's just y you have to I think the problem is the days of going in and just buying a g a gun that you like that made you s made you smile are over. You've got
Dan Shulda: Yep.
THE CHUNK: You gotta research and you gotta know where to go and you gotta wa it it's gonna take you for a newer guy in the sport, let's say hey, he's been shooting his his f his Browning field gun and he wants to get his true trap gun. All right, well the only place you can really go try it are either you gotta go out of state or you ask the guys at the club around you. And then now you gotta figure out where to go buy it. There's a bunch of dealers online, good Jim Schultz target guns, they're they're all over. Coles,
Dan Shulda: Coals. Yeah, there's all over the place.
THE CHUNK: for us, we would the closest place, like if you wanted a Pirazzi, you gotta go down you gotta go down LA, go down south, take a look, pick up the gun, you don't get to shoot it, and or order it, whatever you want. Then you go home, you wait how many you wait for it to get here, that's another thing.
Dan Shulda: Yeah.
THE CHUNK: And then once it gets here you gotta wait I've heard guys it takes about a year to two years to get the gun they want. And it's just like Jesus
Dan Shulda: Yeah.
THE CHUNK: Christ, what are you y you're insane?
Dan Shulda: Yeah. it it's the good example right now is I got my eye out for a for a new Browning eight twenty five Trap Pro.
THE CHUNK: Yeah, good luck.
Dan Shulda: yeah, it it's I mean I keep an eye online and and I don't even know where you go. I mean I don't know I know maybe the the place out of Guns Unlimited out of Nebraska, right? But
THE CHUNK: Yeah.
Dan Shulda: and even then,
THE CHUNK: You can't.
Dan Shulda: yeah, you can't pick it up. It's like, okay, you don't get to see it. You don't get a the pictures pictures don't do guns justice, right? I mean you the it's the feel of it's like a vehicle, right? I'll look
THE CHUNK: No, it you gotta feel You gotta feel Yeah.
Dan Shulda: at cars all day long, you put me in a brand new one and good chance I'm gonna drive it home. So
THE CHUNK: Yeah, that's right. That's right. That's right, Bagger. But it's just I don't know I don't know if I d I just it's just it's getting it's getting too tough on us and everybody they
Dan Shulda: Yeah. Well.
THE CHUNK: all the clubs, everybody's jacking up the price of targets, rightfully so because the clays have gone up and not doing as many yeah,
Dan Shulda: There just aren't as many shooters and yeah.
THE CHUNK: honest yeah, d I mean, it w it's you know terrible to say. We're a dying breed. Especially here in California. I mean th
Dan Shulda: Yeah. Especially yeah.
THE CHUNK: why I I know other states probably not, but here Putinelli. We're we're we're we're getting hit hard. Whew.
Dan Shulda: Yeah, it's gonna it's gonna we're gonna have to see what'll happen here. you know, I I I don't know if you know, expect maybe gun prices to go down, people just can't afford to shoot anymore, people
THE CHUNK: Yeah.
Dan Shulda: just get frustrated with the whole thing. I mean, you know, and that was i if we if we look back a year ago when we started this show, right, it
THE CHUNK: Yeah.
Dan Shulda: went to encourage people to get back into it. And
THE CHUNK: Yeah.
Dan Shulda: that's what I still wanna do. I mean I you know,
THE CHUNK: So do what?
Dan Shulda: and if if I, you know, The little the the little rod, right, that shoots with us on a Wednesday night. That kid is
THE CHUNK: Two bucks.
Dan Shulda: so excited about everything, and he's shooting
THE CHUNK: yeah.
Dan Shulda: well and he's had a couple of different guns in his hands and it's like, Man, you just I I mean, I love to see him there. His mom brought him out last night, his dad couldn't make it, so his mom brought him out.
THE CHUNK: the kid I I li I love the kid. And I love seeing that 'cause he he's really this is a kid that is just really enjoying every minute of shooting he does. I mean, he'll go out there and shoot he'll shoot a whole case on Wednesday nights. He does his league
Dan Shulda: Yeah.
THE CHUNK: and then it's on like like Donkey Kong. He that kid is out there until they shut down. He's out there until they shut down with us. And and
Dan Shulda: Yeah, yeah.
THE CHUNK: he's shooting with us and I I love I love every minute and that's people are missing that. And yeah.
Dan Shulda: Yep.
THE CHUNK: You're right. We started the show a year ago to get guys to cu either come back or get involved. And slowly s but surely we're growing back to what we were. And we saw those numbers in South Bay. And
Dan Shulda: Yeah, yeah.
THE CHUNK: and I think we're getting more and more people interested and I mean have people never shot a gun before in their in their life and they listen to the show for a little bit, they're like, Well well, what's this all about? And okay. And then they love it. They they they absolutely
Dan Shulda: Yeah. Well.
THE CHUNK: love it.
Dan Shulda: And the the funny thing or another addition to that, is I have a good friend who is deeply involved with the Boy Scouts. I
THE CHUNK: Yeah.
Dan Shulda: still haven't talked to him in you know who it is. I still haven't talked him into coming online yet.
THE CHUNK: Yeah. We gotta get on the show.
Dan Shulda: Gotta get him on the show. But you know, he is he's the same way. I mean he they go out here to to Scotts Valley, they have, I don't know, five or six traps or whatever, and then they got kind of a five stand deal set up, but he brings about their 20 gauge, it has these 20 gauge semi-automatic Benellies, and he says that, when he when a kid puts a gun in the kid's hands, calls the target and the kid breaks the target, it it is it it's better than Christmas. And you know, and then if they hit two and then they hit three, and then all of a sudden the parents see, you know, parents get jealous, right? They they're like, Wait a minute.
THE CHUNK: Yeah. And the parents wanna have yeah, wait a minute.
Dan Shulda: They're like, what are we missing out on, right? So then they ask, can I take a few? shots and they step up there. And I think the problem is that there's still that gap of okay, so they go out, they find a weekend, those guns are all, you know, owned by the Boy Scouts. They have they have strict rules around the number
THE CHUNK: Right.
Dan Shulda: of supervisors and and what's being done. And
THE CHUNK: Right.
Dan Shulda: I think that those people though are at a loss of like, well what do I do? You know, I'm interested in this. What do I do next? And
THE CHUNK: Yeah.
Dan Shulda: I don't know how we fill that gap. You know, they can
THE CHUNK: Well
Dan Shulda: they can go back and and go back again but it doesn't take it to the next level.
THE CHUNK: No, i it they stop there. It it stops there. And and the the the best part about the next level is the competition. And i you know, to me it's the that part when you start getting when you start competing and shoot it's like the last purest form of sportsmanship there's left. None of us are out there doing this for money. I mean we're
Dan Shulda: Ha ha ha ha.
THE CHUNK: doing it for a thirty five dollar buckle if we're lucky. And
Dan Shulda: Yeah, if we're lucky. Yeah.
THE CHUNK: th it's just it's the last pierce form of sportsmanship. And you get to really find out, who you are personally because you sit there and you you gotta it's a challenging. This is not easy. And you gotta find out who you are when you do lose a bird or when you when you lose that last one out of two hundred when the handicap when it gets tough, what are you made of? And that that's the best part of this sport. And kids they're They they don't see that and I I think other people don't see that either. They just see it all just sh you just throw your gun in the air and shoot. No. There's a lot to this. And it it you know, it keeps me sane. I mean
Dan Shulda: No, it's it's yeah. It yeah.
THE CHUNK: I'm I'm Jones right now. There's no tournaments and I I I don't God. I I'm going I
Dan Shulda: I know. It's
THE CHUNK: I'm gonna have to learn how to start bowling, but Perazzi doesn't make a bowling ball, so I don't know what the hell to do with that. But
Dan Shulda: Well we'll we'll get we'll get you a red one, buddy. That's I I I I can have Verazzi engraved in it, but yeah, that's we actually you know, I I think
THE CHUNK: Hey well you you like I like nachos.
Dan Shulda: we got we actually got a couple of things. I mean keep an eye out for your club shoots. I know Sunnyvale has something on the fourteenth or fifteenth of November, whatever that Saturday is, that's coming up. they
THE CHUNK: yeah.
Dan Shulda: they have Sunnyvale has a fun little shoot, ATA December fifth, right? So that's coming up.
THE CHUNK: Yeah. Good.
Dan Shulda: we're around Thanksgiving time. So there's there's got to be some, you know, they used to call the turkey chute.
THE CHUNK: But Thanksgiving giving time looks really popular. I think O Fish is doing it.
Dan Shulda: Yeah.
THE CHUNK: And I'm not sure if Livermore's doing it or not, but I think one time they did a turkey shoot. And the turkey shoots are fun. You go out there and you shoot and you win a turkey or meat shoot or whatever. Pot
Dan Shulda: Yeah, yeah.
THE CHUNK: shoot. So th those are usually typical, you know, kind of fun around the holidays. The holidays are tough even for us. That that's why our winter league gets condensed down to what it is. I mean, we got what? twenty people. If that's
Dan Shulda: I don't know my my my Google Sheet didn't have the right count on it today, so I don't I don't know. Somebody was not on the list. I I don't know. I I you know it's funny. There's this there's this new thing called AI, buddy, that it'll write that program for you, trust me.
THE CHUNK: no. Th was there somebody missing? Jesus that God. I I can't imagine I can't imagine what happened. I I I just can't. Uhhuh. Yeah. It did well, you know, I don't trust that AI.
Dan Shulda: Yeah, I know. It's gonna take over the world. We're just gonna have to watch robots shoot. That's what it's gonna turn into.
THE CHUNK: Yeah. Yeah, we're gonna ha you well that's what it'll come down to. We'll we'll be controlling robots with the remote control, shooting lasers at targets. What the hell fun is that? I wanna shoot the robot. What Yeah. But well anyway,
Dan Shulda: That's right. No. Yeah, exactly. Take off running. yeah. No.
THE CHUNK: I mean, you know, so that's kinda what's going on, so we encourage you guys to do a little research on that. And hell, if you got any ideas, maybe we take we go all the way, baby. We take this to the big house.
Dan Shulda: Yeah. Let's Well, let's yeah, let's get the get some solutions, man. I'd I'd love to hear what people are your thoughts, and just
THE CHUNK: California trap shooting's gonna show up. But Yeah. I would too. Yeah.
Dan Shulda: if there's something else you think we can do, you know, hell hell even come on the show and we'll talk about it, right? What what
THE CHUNK: I'd love to I'd love to talk to anybody on the show that's got any ideas, but the bagger and I we're gonna get our our guest list, we're gonna get it lined up this year, 'cause there's some guys out there we've been hunting to get on this show. And and we're gonna w yeah. And
Dan Shulda: Yeah, we got some good names, we got some good people coming that we wanna have on the show.
THE CHUNK: now that we're kinda doing the video thing, we hope you all like it. So I don't know, this is a kinda this is a big step for for the bagger and I. So we figured
Dan Shulda: Yeah.
THE CHUNK: why not? We'll just jump both feet in.
Dan Shulda: Sure. What's it what's it gonna hurt?
THE CHUNK: make a splash. What's it gonna hurt? I'm already low. But
Dan Shulda: Yeah.
THE CHUNK: yeah, so let's see back so we talked about the parts, we talked about upcoming shoots. you know la the last episode we did we talked about maintenance in your gun, making sure everything was
Dan Shulda: Yep.
THE CHUNK: good. I'd love to hear maybe next week we can get we'll contact somebody from the the Tucson shoot. Maybe we could talk to do a little satellite. G yeah, g get on the grounds over there. So Yeah.
Dan Shulda: maybe get some live updates. Yeah. Yeah. I know a few folks going down there. Y you know who might go down there? we might have to reach out to Big Daddy from Livermore. He might be going down there. He would love to come on the show.
THE CHUNK: W b Big Daddy Bryan, I have not talked to him. I'm gonna call him tomorrow. I saw a picture
Dan Shulda: I haven't either. I yeah, I I
THE CHUNK: of him at the Vegas shoot.
Dan Shulda: Yeah, he th there was, some guys I was up at went up to the Zach Nanini training
THE CHUNK: Zackie was here yesterday, huh?
Dan Shulda: the other day and you know and talked to quite a few of the Sunnyvale members. There was there was quite a f there was five or six that went down to the shoot and
THE CHUNK: Yeah.
Dan Shulda: they they they said it was fun, said there was a lot of fun. Said the targets they they said the targets were a little tougher than they expected. So
THE CHUNK: Well I I gotta tell you the truth, I was looking at some of the scores and you could tell, I was watching some and not not saying that these guys couldn't shoot, but the th those targets must have been a a mother because that's some guys just scores no. But
Dan Shulda: really? yeah, I didn't I didn't find the scores. That's that's that's another future episode. We gotta talk about how do you how do you how do you follow, how do you track these guys, right? When when you know there's a
THE CHUNK: Yeah.
Dan Shulda: shoe when you're home and you're pouting because you didn't get a go, how do you find out what these scores are? Yeah, exactly. As you're tearing out your kitchen.
THE CHUNK: Yeah. Sitting by the fireplace with a hot cup of cocoa. I could be trap shooting right now. That's my whole life. I'm at work and I said, God, I could be trap shooting right now. What am I doing? But yeah, so yeah,
Dan Shulda: What am I doing? yeah, well you go through them.
THE CHUNK: we I I think so SOS Clays 'cause I I got the that yearly membership, I paid for the year or whatever, the annual subscription.
Dan Shulda: Okay, okay.
THE CHUNK: So you can kinda look through there. And then
Dan Shulda: Okay.
THE CHUNK: You Scores R is always good. The Scores R
Dan Shulda: Yeah.
THE CHUNK: Scores R they they're pretty good about getting the scores out there for you to to for everybody to look at. But as far as telling you who the the champions are and stuff like that, it's a little it's a little hard to read, but you if you t if you you take your time
Dan Shulda: It's tough. It it's hard to get into it, yeah.
THE CHUNK: you take your time you'll get there. And
Dan Shulda: Okay.
THE CHUNK: but yeah, people call me or send me a text, Hey I shot this well I'm gonna go eat lunch now. You have fun with that. I I'm not yeah, I
Dan Shulda: Yeah, that's
THE CHUNK: I'm not there to help commiserate. But yeah.
Dan Shulda: Yeah.
THE CHUNK: So I think that's about it, but that's all we got on our radar right now. So we'll we'll do something ne we'll do our show next week. W we're we're getting back in the groove of things and we got you know, the this past c this past week we didn't do a show because we got some we're getting into some technology. We're we're getting up there now.
Dan Shulda: Yeah, we got some.
THE CHUNK: We're trying a the bagger and I are trying a lot of new stuff out and hopefully we get it's for you for your guys' enjoyment and we know we can't do this without you, so if you got got a minute, click subscribe, like, comment. I I wanna see comments. So let us let it
Dan Shulda: Yeah, let's see what's out there. See what your thoughts are.
THE CHUNK: let it roll, baby. I wanna get some fire in this.
Dan Shulda: With that.
THE CHUNK: So hopefully we can get that going and we're getting ready. I I I'm already getting excited for the Golden West Grand. I I can't help it. It it just in my blood. I I can't
Dan Shulda: I got
THE CHUNK: you know, May May can't come come round here fast enough.
Dan Shulda: Yeah, I got I got the wife convinced that this year I I don't know if I'm gonna stay there. Would still love to, but she knows she
THE CHUNK: We're gonna get a trailer.
Dan Shulda: knows the the affection for it, so I I think it's good. Yeah.
THE CHUNK: We're getting the trailer, baby. We're getting the trailer. We'll do I'm gonna park that thing right behind the traps and I'm gonna sit there all night pulling the birds. I'm I'm gonna be ready. I'm gonna be ready for the Yeah. Yeah, I'm gonna cuddle
Dan Shulda: That's right. We'll just we'll just roll right out of there right out the door onto Trapfield One. too far.
THE CHUNK: up right next to old Big Daddy and
Dan Shulda: Ha ha ha.
THE CHUNK: we're gonna we're gonna have some fun. I I'm re I'm really excited 'cause I I'm wanna that Golden West Grand, for me I I gotta I wanna win that handicap. So bad.
Dan Shulda: Ha ha ha.
THE CHUNK: That one in the in the state chute. And and then but it's I I'm ready. I I I can't wait. The the month th this help helps me get through the days. When the days get tough, it's Golden West Grand's coming. Golden West Grand's coming. Goldenwest Grand So we got that in the
Dan Shulda: Yeah.
THE CHUNK: state chute this year. I'm I'm looking forward to again 'cause we had a great time last year and I
Dan Shulda: Yep. That was fun last year. Yeah, we had met a lot of good people down there and just kinda tooled around. Yeah, we did. we did. We gotta
THE CHUNK: yeah, we gr lot of great interviews. Lot of great interviews. I in
Dan Shulda: get we gotta get back in that office and we might even throw in a few of those mixes that they had there in the office. Those were pretty tasty at the end of the day. They were good.
THE CHUNK: Telling you man, them slurpees look pretty good. They were vegan, but they were good. I'll tell you, I I think this year maybe we plan the whole thing. We do the prelim and everything.
Dan Shulda: We could one yeah, we might be one we could squeeze that in. I think that's that's doable. Yeah.
THE CHUNK: Think so. Yeah, I'll cl I'll I'll quit work for a week or two, then I'll get rehired again and we'll be fine. Yeah, I I can I think I can talk. I don't know. Maybe there's podcasting,
Dan Shulda: Yeah. What the heck. there's always there's always other jobs out there. So, I'll find something. I don't know.
THE CHUNK: maybe we can just
Dan Shulda: Yeah.
THE CHUNK: All right, ladies and gentlemen. Well I'm your host the Chunk along with your beloved co host the Sandbagger. And remember, just shoot, baby.
Dan Shulda: Hello, Chunk, how you doing?
THE CHUNK: I'm doing good. So for all you listeners out there, of course I'm your host the chunk. You can finally see me now. And
Dan Shulda: Yeah.
THE CHUNK: along with your beloved co host the sandbagger over there. So
Dan Shulda: Hello, all hope you're doing well.
THE CHUNK: yeah, we hope we don't break your cameras. You know, we've
Dan Shulda: Yeah.
THE CHUNK: been told we've only had the face for radio, but here we are. We're we're giving this a shot, so mama Here we go See Yeah
