Speaker 1: Morning. J Mex from Mount Hart morning, How are you doing? How good's the weather been?
00:00:07
Speaker 2: Oh? Look, I guess you can look at it a number of ways, but yeah, we're pretty pleased. We've had a lot of snow over the last twenty.
00:00:15
Speaker 1: Fourth How much showers.
00:00:18
Speaker 2: I'm just looking at our snowsteak now it looks like seventy one centimeters.
00:00:22
Speaker 1: Oh brilliant. How good is that?
00:00:24
Speaker 2: Yeah, it's pretty amazing. Oh sorry, no, no, no, no, I'm reading it the wrong way. Up it's a little bit early in the morning for me at sixty six set of its Oh you he is?
00:00:34
Speaker 1: I mean it's still.
00:00:35
Speaker 2: Seventy I reckon, But it's still snowing up there. It's just turned southeasterly for us. It's a pretty good wind direction for attracting a bit more snow as the storm sort of tracks through its sort of final stages.
00:00:46
Speaker 3: So the frustrating part is that you closed today to get things into shape.
00:00:51
Speaker 1: What sort of effort is required after an event like this? What needs to be done?
00:00:55
Speaker 2: Well, it's during the event's pretty care as well. We've got a team up on the hill now, about twenty of our staff up there packing down the snow with a snow groom. As we've got patrollers doing avalanche control work with explosives, we've got people start to get out decks. Yeah, lots of action. Yeah. Yeah.
00:01:11
Speaker 1: Do they live up there, Well, they.
00:01:13
Speaker 2: Are up there for the duration they can't get down. The road is actually not open at the moment. And yeah, there's a bit of snow clearing that needs to go on as well on the road. So we have a contractor that comes up and works through that. So good old grant Hood Contracting have been doing that job for probably fifty three years, I would say, so they've they've been working on that road and keeping it clear for us for all that time.
00:01:36
Speaker 3: Got the neck of it. So we need to open as soon as we can because of course it's school a holidays and also crosses over with the Aussie school holidays. So are you expecting things to be busy?
00:01:45
Speaker 2: Look, we're hoping to get open tomorrow and so yeah, when we reopen, it might be a little bit slow getting things going because there'll be a lot of lifty icing and things like that. But we know that the Norst Express will will be starting straight off the bat because that's been running through the through the course of the storm. We've got a maintenance tand up on the hill we're keeping that spinning. We put the chairs on obviously once once things are cleared up, but at the moment the cable's turning and the sheaves are spinning. So that's all good. Summit Sex will take a little bit more to get going. And actually the good news is our triple chair I off should open for the season as well after this, so yeah, it's all happening.
00:02:18
Speaker 3: Hey, super quick, there's changes to their priority car pulling.
00:02:22
Speaker 1: Tell us about this.
00:02:24
Speaker 2: I'll look, not really substantively, we're just doing our checks a little bit higher up on the mountain this year. So the sort of the whole premise of that is just to make sure that we feel cars on those busy days, which look like they're coming pretty soon, especially as we head into the Martariqi in the weekend. So yeah, look, if you are coming up and you want to get up high on the mountain, definitely need to sell your vehicle full of people and then you'll get through and then yeah, there's a possibility that this weekend will be pretty busy, so yeah, start making those plans now.
