ABOUT THIS EPISODE

Pixar’s Bizarre Original Plans for Monsters Inc.

The original version of Monsters, Inc. was wildly different from the Pixar movie we know today. Early drafts featured a darker story about a 30-year-old accountant haunted by monsters based on his childhood fears, a 1950s monster reality TV show, alternate designs for Sulley and Mike Wazowski, and Bill Murray nearly voicing Sulley before John Goodman was cast.
