ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Bread Bin & Cartridge Ep.33 r1 — Turrican — 22 October 1990.
Manfred Trenz's huge German blaster was in Gallup's all formats top ten as autumn set in. The Beautiful South went to number one with A Little Time, Unchained Melody came roaring back, Noel Edmonds had Telly Addicts on BBC One, Bob Holness was lighting up hexagons on Blockbusters, and the Game Boy and Mega Drive had both just landed in British shops.
Lee and Mark set the scene with the chart, telly, toys and shop prices, then get into Zzap's 97% Gold Medal, Sinclair User's 79% dissent, Amstrad Action's double Mastergame issue, the lightning whip and gyroscope, the Giana Sisters and R-Type backstory, a title tune borrowed from The Transformers Movie, a Manowar album cover, and a sound desk and overall verdict across the C64, Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST and Amiga.
Hosts: Lee & Mark Webb.
