What happens when a child who has known pain and abandonment discovers a place where he is finally seen, heard, and loved? That is at the heart of FarEye, a visually stunning and deeply spiritual short film from British-Jamaican filmmaker Hayden Mclean.

Through the journey of Khalil, a young boy who escapes an abusive home and finds refuge within a Rastafarian community in rural Jamaica, Hayden Mclean explores healing, identity, faith, belonging, and the transformative power of human connection.

But FarEye is also something larger—a beautiful and authentic portrait of Jamaica, created with a predominantly Jamaican cast and crew, and part of Mclean’s mission to bring more Caribbean stories to the screen.
