ABOUT THIS EPISODE
18+ LISTENERS ONLY
Beyond Vanilla is an adults-only podcast discussing relationships, sex, ethical non-monogamy and the swinging lifestyle.
So… you’re curious about the lifestyle. Now what?
Amy C and Emily Spice go right back to the beginning and talk about what actually happens when you decide you might want to explore the swinging lifestyle.
From having those first conversations with your partner and navigating all the emotions that can come with them, to choosing apps, setting boundaries and figuring out what you’re actually comfortable with — we’re sharing what we’ve learned from our own experiences, including some of the communication mishaps we made along the way.
We also tackle single guys in the lifestyle.
From our perspective as women in couples, what makes a single guy stand out for the right reasons? How should you approach couples? What behaviours immediately put people off? And why respecting both partners, their relationship and their boundaries matters.
We discuss apps and profiles, first conversations, jealousy and unexpected emotions, communication, boundaries, respecting a “no”, mistakes beginners commonly make, and why you absolutely do not need to rush into anything.
Because getting started in the lifestyle isn't really about learning a secret set of swinging rules.
It's about learning how to communicate, knowing your own boundaries, respecting other people's — and finding a way of exploring what works for you.
