ABOUT THIS EPISODE
From Jeremy O. Harris calling out Vanity Fair for bending to tech billionaires, to Mia Goth filing for divorce from Shia LaBeouf, this mini episode packs in the kind of sharp, unfiltered commentary that makes you feel a little more sane about the chaos online.
Van is joined by Kelli Williams, co-host of Beyond the Blinds and Nostalgia and Now, for a fast-moving roundup of the week’s best and worst in entertainment, media, and celebrity culture. Together they unpack why Jeremy O. Harris’s criticism of Vanity Fair matters, why Shia LaBeouf keeps finding himself at the center of public fallout, and why calling out bad behavior in pop culture still feels risky for artists with something to lose. You’ll discover:
- Why Jeremy O. Harris’s Vanity Fair takedown struck such a nerve
- What Mia Goth’s divorce filing says about the long-running Shia LaBeouf saga
- Why Kelli is cheering on Bailey from Summer House in her fight with Dave Portnoy
- How Barstool, content theft, and celebrity influence keep colliding in modern pop culture
- Why Van thinks the 2003 music charts were packed with all-time club anthems
Then the episode shifts into full nostalgia mode, with a throwback to 2003’s biggest songs, TV, and movie moments. Van and Kelli revisit everything from “Where Is the Love?” and “Crazy in Love” to One Tree Hill, Gilmore Girls, Smallville, Freaky Friday, and American Wedding, while also debating whether the Black Eyed Peas could still dominate today and why the early 2000s feel like a totally different cultural universe. This episode is for anyone who loves celebrity chaos, early-2000s nostalgia, and smart, funny pop culture commentary with actual teeth. If you miss when music, TV, and tabloid drama felt bigger, louder, and somehow more fun, this one will hit exactly right.Kelli Williams is the co-host of Beyond the Blinds, the celebrity blind-items podcast, and Nostalgia Now, where she brings sharp pop-culture memory and no-nonsense takes to the mic.
