ABOUT THIS EPISODE
"My temper's too short and I break down like its a hobby, and the thought of being that responsible for any other living thing, that much of the time, just turned me to... I don't know. Flame."
Australia, 2019. Alice reflects on school bus bullying, a life-altering decision, and the one person who just might change everything. Part one of Minola Theatre's BEGOTTEN.
A sceptic. A paranoiac. A criminal. A migrant. A hostage.
Minola Theatre presents BEGOTTEN, a five-part audio drama by award-winning playwright Bianca Butler Reynolds. Join us each week as we meet five generations of women: Alice, Eileen, Clea, Hazel and Laoise. Hear a century of their stories, encompassing grief, war, sanity, loss and revenge. Listen as they grapple with powerful questions about heredity, and what is passed down family lines. Are we doomed to make the same mistakes our parents did? Can we heal a wound that is generations old? How much do the secrets of the past haunt us in the present?
