ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Technology is not the problem...it's the gap between how ma uses it and how everybody else does. Pamela and Rachel break down the hilariously relatable ways “Ma” handles digital life, from the family calendar to phone calls, social media, online shopping, and medical portals, and why some tasks still feel impossible no matter how often you do them. The girls turn everyday tech frustrations into a funny, a affectionate look at what happens when paper habits collide with a paperless world. From Pamela's sacred Philofax to the mystery of calendar color-coding, from “What’s-a-matta?” phone calls to Instagram posts that read like letters, they unpack the very specific places where Ma’s instincts are charming, even if a bit chaotic.
- why a paper calendar felt safer than a phone calendar for years
- the difference between answering a call and immediately assuming “something is the matter”
- how Facebook, Instagram, and story replies become their own language
- why Jill’s Steals and Deals is the rare online shop Ma actually enjoys
- the comedy of Amazon returns, medical portals, parent portals, and camp forms that refuse to cooperate
Pamela also shares what changed when she finally moved to a digital calendar after years of relying on Philofax refills, plus the small victories that come from figuring out tech one frustrating step at a time. If you have ever missed an appointment, forgotten a password, or needed help with a portal that should have been simple, this episode will feel uncomfortably accurate in the best way. Perfect for listeners who love family banter, generational chaos, and the kind of comedy that comes from real life.
