ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Sometimes, the idea of rest feels like an indulgence, especially when work is piled high. Yet, the Sabbath is given to us not as a reward for finished tasks, but as an essential practice for spiritual grounding and reconnection. Just as Eric Liddell chose to honor his faith, even at the cost of an Olympic race, we too are called to prioritize rest as a pathway to deeper relationship with God. This intentional time is for recharging and rejuvenating our bodies and minds, but it is also specifically set aside to reconnect with God and the Holy Spirit. It prepares us, centers us, and strengthens us for whatever challenges lie ahead. It is a holy act that reminds us of God's presence, even when the world feels overwhelming. As you prepare for the weekend, identify one specific way you can intentionally use a part of your Sabbath to reconnect with God, perhaps through prayer, nature, or quiet reflection. Living Word, guide us into spaces of intentional rest, that we may draw closer to you, recharge our spirits, and be made whole for the journey ahead.
