ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Modern LaVeyan Satanists love to claim that theistic Satanists are not “real” Satanists. But that position creates a contradiction they rarely want to confront.Anton LaVey did not teach theistic Satanism. His understanding of Satan was symbolic, naturalistic, and rooted in the individual. But in The Satanic Bible, LaVey also made it clear that the Satanist accepts the definition of God that suits them best—whether that God is called by a name, no name at all, or ultimately recognized within the self.So where did modern Satanists get the authority to decide what every other Satanist is allowed to believe? In this episode of Satan & Coffee, Atius Dade examines the difference between LaVeyan Satanism and Satanism as a broader path, the hypocrisy of turning an anti-dogmatic philosophy into rigid doctrine, and why LaVeyan gatekeepers increasingly resemble old-school Catholics claiming that anyone outside their institution is not a real Christian.A LaVeyan can say a theistic Satanist is not LaVeyan. They cannot declare that LaVey owns the word Satanism. When Satanists begin enforcing orthodoxy, protecting doctrine, declaring heresy, and treating one man’s writings as permanently infallible, they have not escaped the church. They have rebuilt it.🜏 LaVey did not teach theism.🜁 He did place spiritual authority in the individual.🜂 Theistic Satanists do not need institutional permission to exist.🜄 Individual sovereignty means nothing if your beliefs must be approved by someone else.🜃 The Devil does not need a pope.☿ Hail Thyself.#SatanAndCoffee #TheisticSatanism #AntonLaVey #LaVeyanSatanism #Satanism #TheSatanicBible #LeftHandPath #Luciferianism #ReligiousGatekeeping #AtiusDade
