ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Elijah: Passion, Prayer & Power
Who was Elijah, the prophet who burst onto the biblical scene with no family tree and left in a chariot of fire? In this episode, we walk through the life of Elijah in three parts: a man of passion, a man of prayer, and a man of power.
We look at his zeal on Mount Carmel (1 Kings 19:10) and the lesson that passion is good, but God often speaks in a still, small voice. We see how, while Ahab controlled the spiritual climate, Elijah's prayers controlled the weather (James 5:17). And we explore Elijah's place in Jewish tradition, Jesus' words about him and John the Baptist (Matthew 17:13), and the promise of his return as one of the two witnesses (Malachi 4:5, Revelation 11).
Reflect on:
- Pray for rain, and for God's presence to be revealed in the midst of darkness.
- Take time in His presence to hear His still, small voice.
- Be an intercessor for nations, communities, and souls.
