ABOUT THIS EPISODE

The Silmarillion: Chapter Seven: Of the Silmarils and the Unrest of the Noldor

Another Silly Silmarillion Solo venture- but this time, it's Lane battling the dimming light of his very own eyesight and the unrest of his mind (undiagnosed ADHD), as we all wait to see- can he actually navigate us through a chapter without the guidance of the Flannel Wizard? Only you will decide!

Creation. Contrivance. Corruption. Chapter Seven has it all, as Fëanor, son of Finwë, greatest Elven Smith of all time creates the Silmarils to honour the height of elvendom only to proceed in falling victim to the machinations of Melkor. At least he's not alone, right? For unrest and discord now indeed sours all Valinor.

WEBVTT
00:00.875 --> 00:21.955
[UNKNOWN]: Thank you very much.
00:29.967 --> 00:43.282
[SPEAKER_01]: Hello friends, and welcome to an unexpected podcast.
00:48.648 --> 00:55.215
[SPEAKER_04]: And you've got to be the worst podcast I've ever heard of, but you have heard of me.
00:56.782 --> 00:57.242
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm Wayne.
00:57.903 --> 01:00.165
[SPEAKER_01]: And we're talking Tolkien.
01:00.265 --> 01:05.770
[SPEAKER_01]: We're coming to you from the Shire America, the beautiful state of Ohio, and a little village of Amanda.
01:05.790 --> 01:11.515
[SPEAKER_01]: I bet I've had a little, uh, pides of the Caribbean reference wasn't on your bingo card for this episode.
01:12.015 --> 01:26.788
[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be a master class in ADHD guys, functional ADHD, uh, but I'm excited to be digging into chapter seven of the
01:26.768 --> 01:28.953
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, kind of daunting.
01:28.973 --> 01:30.437
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to, I'm not going to lie.
01:30.718 --> 01:32.121
[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, this, this, this chapter.
01:33.043 --> 01:35.730
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, just after reading the chapter name, I got a little nervous.
01:35.830 --> 01:41.163
[SPEAKER_01]: I, I might have done a little bit of a puky and a little bit of a poopy, but, um, I regained my composure.
01:41.203 --> 01:44.912
[SPEAKER_01]: I thought to myself, you know, I, as recirc is all about this.
01:47.221 --> 02:07.002
[SPEAKER_01]: manifestation, dude, he guys, he has become, I mean, he has become even more of a, of a guide by the side, even more of a sage, a wizard, the flannel wizard, baby, and he's the flannel wizard because he keeps you warm, and he makes you feel good, and he stokes those things inside of you.
02:07.522 --> 02:11.090
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, maybe he keeps the warmth alive inside of you.
02:12.253 --> 02:12.995
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, I love it.
02:13.476 --> 02:15.421
[SPEAKER_01]: It's one of those things, but it's true, regardless.
02:16.243 --> 02:19.190
[SPEAKER_01]: And I took a page on his book.
02:19.210 --> 02:23.620
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, you know what, no, don't let this chapter overcome you, you overcome this chapter, brother.
02:23.640 --> 02:25.665
[SPEAKER_01]: Remember who you are, you're a Smith.
02:25.645 --> 02:27.067
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay?
02:27.087 --> 02:45.373
[SPEAKER_01]: And who better to lead us into this chapter, literally opening up with a description of and the creation of some of the great, probably the greatest creation, at least to this subcreation, to this point by someone who isn't a Vala, right?
02:45.433 --> 02:46.034
[SPEAKER_01]: The Silmaril.
02:46.495 --> 02:47.095
[SPEAKER_01]: The Silmarils.
02:47.156 --> 02:47.556
[SPEAKER_01]: There's three.
02:48.057 --> 02:49.058
[SPEAKER_01]: Not just one.
02:49.319 --> 02:50.320
[SPEAKER_01]: There's three of them.
02:51.008 --> 03:02.569
[SPEAKER_01]: and who better to lead us into this part of Tolkien's story or re-acquaint those who've been here before with this part of Tolkien's legendarium, then a Smith, who better than a Smith?
03:03.170 --> 03:05.234
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, where do I fall on the Smith scale?
03:05.755 --> 03:10.924
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm probably closer to a Poop Smith from HomeStar Runner, but a Smith nonetheless.
03:10.904 --> 03:16.813
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and I guess even the poops myth from home star runners is one who takes care of the crap.
03:16.833 --> 03:17.674
[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying?
03:17.714 --> 03:23.023
[SPEAKER_01]: They clean it up and they make things understandable and beautiful and clean.
03:23.523 --> 03:28.110
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not really sure what I think there's a bigger point there that I'm missing, but that's fine.
03:28.171 --> 03:29.132
[SPEAKER_01]: This week.
03:29.112 --> 03:36.648
[SPEAKER_01]: We're getting into chapter seven of the Silver Hills and the unrest of the of the Noldore You know Melcourt does a lot of damage this chapter man.
03:36.849 --> 03:44.305
[SPEAKER_01]: It's uh Wow, it's crazy I do want to say you did hear as at the at the beginning of the episode there that was not me.
03:44.365 --> 03:46.530
[SPEAKER_01]: I was not saying and I
03:46.510 --> 03:47.432
[SPEAKER_01]: that wasn't me.
03:48.314 --> 03:49.216
[SPEAKER_01]: I would never do that.
03:49.897 --> 03:51.781
[SPEAKER_01]: It's been kind of a weird day.
03:51.801 --> 03:53.926
[SPEAKER_01]: It's been kind of a weird recording session actually.
03:54.166 --> 03:58.796
[SPEAKER_01]: I've had some unexplainable events transpire.
03:58.976 --> 04:03.085
[SPEAKER_01]: I've been having these phantom toe touches, which normally happens when we're together and like
04:03.065 --> 04:20.888
[SPEAKER_01]: there's like a missed opportunity to touch you guys know the touch is it's part of the legendary of of the podcast not to tutor own horn but you know again taking a page out of Ezra Kirk's I don't know what would you call it mythological scope.
04:20.868 --> 04:22.050
[SPEAKER_01]: self-help guide.
04:22.090 --> 04:29.199
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, usually those toe touches happen when we're in near proximity.
04:29.519 --> 04:30.380
[SPEAKER_01]: He's not here today.
04:30.621 --> 04:31.862
[SPEAKER_01]: This is a solo episode.
04:31.962 --> 04:33.725
[SPEAKER_01]: God, I wish I had a solo stove right now.
04:34.245 --> 04:35.447
[SPEAKER_01]: One of those fire pits.
04:36.008 --> 04:40.614
[SPEAKER_01]: I love my ring of fire, but that would just be a great missed opportunity there for a pun.
04:41.675 --> 04:42.957
[SPEAKER_01]: I am outside by the fire.
04:43.838 --> 04:45.660
[SPEAKER_01]: As was
04:45.640 --> 05:14.466
[SPEAKER_01]: as is perfect for him and a solo episode to go driving to be in his white Volkswagen shadow facts that beautiful mayor and his shadow facts not a mayor anyway just as he took that opportunity to showcase his own personality and and and be on the road and he was on the road guys I I clocked him at Panda Express I knew what he was getting the Mongolian beef he really
05:15.948 --> 05:23.441
[SPEAKER_01]: Just as he took that opportunity to hit the road, I thought to myself, what would, what would Lane do?
05:24.343 --> 05:30.013
[SPEAKER_01]: I can't believe I just referred myself of a third person, wow, I'm cutting that out.
05:30.494 --> 05:31.055
[SPEAKER_01]: What would I do?
05:32.157 --> 05:33.940
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, what do I love?
05:33.920 --> 05:58.273
[SPEAKER_01]: More than anything, what's my nice quiet place and it's the backyard around the fire When the family's all put to bed and everyone's resting Sarah might be watching something but she's relaxing the kids are all asleep Amanda is as hopping as it possibly can't be on a Saturday Now you're going to get some good Amanda Foley in the background This episode should be cool random dogs barking big, you know
05:58.253 --> 06:02.847
[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, uh, tuned up, pick up, trucker rolling, bye, baby.
06:02.967 --> 06:03.649
[SPEAKER_01]: That kind of noise.
06:03.670 --> 06:04.833
[SPEAKER_01]: You'll probably get ace barking.
06:05.114 --> 06:06.358
[SPEAKER_01]: The bat hound is out here with me.
06:06.418 --> 06:09.748
[SPEAKER_01]: My, my loyal companion guy such a good dog.
06:10.252 --> 06:17.020
[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, I'm sitting around the fire by myself, guys, and I'm feeling toe touches, and that's kind of freaking me out a little bit.
06:17.040 --> 06:21.265
[SPEAKER_01]: Then also, woke up this morning, my lower back ponytail was braided.
06:21.786 --> 06:28.354
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, that's something that only Sarah does, and it's a grooming kind of ritual that we have.
06:28.974 --> 06:31.758
[SPEAKER_01]: And I know she didn't do that because she was a sleep when I woke up this morning.
06:31.778 --> 06:33.660
[SPEAKER_01]: I got it first actually, rare occasion.
06:33.640 --> 06:43.672
[SPEAKER_01]: It was braided, fully braided, there were even some ornamental beads on the LBPT, which was, again, out of the ordinary.
06:44.113 --> 06:56.948
[SPEAKER_01]: And then, yeah, just really weird things happening, like hearing my name being called, I was tripping over stuff, like I swore I put some firewood around the fire pit, I turned around and I fell over, more wood.
06:56.928 --> 07:06.327
[SPEAKER_01]: Like that was not there and then like weird stuff like I felt my my but she get tickled like five times today and that's not again Not a normal thing.
07:06.347 --> 07:08.111
[SPEAKER_01]: I thought for a second I've been I've been lifting again.
07:08.151 --> 07:13.722
[SPEAKER_01]: I thought maybe post like days like a little you know Twitch or something the muscles are getting activated again.
07:13.762 --> 07:15.325
[SPEAKER_01]: It was not
07:15.305 --> 07:21.350
[SPEAKER_01]: And so I'm starting to think maybe I'm driving to a point here, hold with me, hang with me, whatever it is, be with me.
07:21.911 --> 07:28.076
[SPEAKER_01]: I think maybe that strawberries with cream from last episode, maybe as even manifested that.
07:28.737 --> 07:36.724
[SPEAKER_01]: I think maybe somehow he conjured a ring, it doesn't have to be the one ring, it's just some magical ring that gives him abilities beyond my comprehension anyway.
07:36.844 --> 07:39.626
[SPEAKER_01]: And I think he's been here and of course he would do that, right?
07:39.706 --> 07:44.130
[SPEAKER_01]: Of course he would follow me around like a little voyeur, a little ignorant pig.
07:44.110 --> 07:50.866
[SPEAKER_01]: and watch me on a day where I'm recording a solo episode, my first solo episode for an unexpected podcast.
07:52.751 --> 07:54.334
[SPEAKER_01]: Talking about some heavy stuff, right?
07:54.435 --> 07:57.021
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, of course, that's how it would go down.
07:57.562 --> 07:58.885
[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's kind of what's happened.
07:58.905 --> 08:00.870
[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, here we are.
08:01.019 --> 08:01.860
[SPEAKER_01]: What can we say?
08:01.960 --> 08:04.524
[SPEAKER_01]: That's kind of kind of into quick counsel already, I guess.
08:04.604 --> 08:07.749
[SPEAKER_01]: It's rambling with butter, bur, babblings with butter, bur.
08:08.470 --> 08:15.580
[SPEAKER_01]: Here we are, I do want to give some shout outs in quick counsel because there's some really cool things happening.
08:16.361 --> 08:19.045
[SPEAKER_01]: I want to give a huge shout out to Josh and Tina Dalkey.
08:19.025 --> 08:31.697
[SPEAKER_01]: who had their very first baby, a little baby girl, Nancy, hopefully they don't mind me saying her name on the podcast, but just so cool, I remember when Josh said, hey, Tina's pregnant, wow, that's amazing.
08:32.318 --> 08:48.694
[SPEAKER_01]: And then just to kind of, it's their first baby, so he's, you know, they're becoming parents, Josh has become an a dad and I just got, I got flashed back to when I was in that same situation when we were awaiting for, you know, awaiting Winnie to be born.
08:48.674 --> 08:55.102
[SPEAKER_01]: It was really cool to just have conversations and text them back and forth and hey, when you're due date, I mean, I I love that.
08:55.202 --> 08:57.885
[SPEAKER_01]: I love when babies are are on the way.
08:58.025 --> 09:03.752
[SPEAKER_01]: I love when people become parents and if that's something that you choose not to do that's okay, too.
09:04.092 --> 09:07.496
[SPEAKER_01]: If it's something you're you're I don't know that it's been a struggle.
09:07.616 --> 09:14.985
[SPEAKER_01]: I like I I I I I just I think that all the power to you like so many ways to be a parent
09:14.965 --> 09:44.567
[SPEAKER_01]: But it just gives me so many good vibes, so many good fields to, I don't know, just connect with people who are in that phase of life because it is the greatest thing, man, I mean, it's for me anyway, in my life, it has been the greatest thing to have children, like to be lucky enough to be a dad, it's what I always dreamed of, I always dreamed of being a dad some day, and here I am, and so, and here's Josh, you know, and here's Tina, their parents, and you know, like I loved,
09:44.547 --> 09:49.619
[SPEAKER_01]: And the same way, like when as in Lottie, we're awaiting Lucas Tacom, and I'm like, Dude, how's he pointing at you?
09:49.639 --> 09:50.701
[SPEAKER_01]: How many appointments do you guys?
09:50.721 --> 09:51.583
[SPEAKER_01]: Everything going okay?
09:51.643 --> 09:52.846
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, what try master she in?
09:52.886 --> 09:54.169
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you know, what's going on?
09:54.209 --> 09:54.870
[SPEAKER_01]: What's a due date?
09:54.890 --> 09:55.512
[SPEAKER_01]: And all this stuff.
09:55.532 --> 09:59.621
[SPEAKER_01]: And so I was doing the same thing with Josh, I'm like, hey man, due dates coming gone.
09:59.641 --> 10:00.102
[SPEAKER_01]: What's going on?
10:00.182 --> 10:00.924
[SPEAKER_01]: How's Tina doing?
10:00.944 --> 10:01.746
[SPEAKER_01]: What's up?
10:01.726 --> 10:26.620
[SPEAKER_01]: and sure enough, a little baby Nancy is born and so cool, I mean, I got beautiful pictures and little short videos that he sent me and one of them, he's been talking about their cats, they have three cats, fish and chips and Oreo and the cats have become like, like, surrogate parents,
10:26.600 --> 10:29.876
[SPEAKER_01]: For for Nancy and I just think that's a beautiful thing too.
10:29.916 --> 10:35.040
[SPEAKER_01]: I showed a video to to Vigo and Sarah The Josh it sent me and Vigo goes
10:35.257 --> 11:01.045
[SPEAKER_01]: Dye is so cute, well, the key is touching a baby, I'm like, yeah, I know, it's so sweet, it was a key's name, so yeah, anyway, huge congrats to them, you know, the the upper family grows and she is a lucky kid to have them as parents and and they're lucky parents to have her as their daughter so congrats to them.
11:01.025 --> 11:10.098
[SPEAKER_01]: I also want to give a huge shout out to Mark and Carson, Red Nour, got some pictures this week of Carson.
11:10.178 --> 11:13.243
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll get to that in a minute, but Mark is a good friend of mine.
11:14.344 --> 11:15.065
[SPEAKER_01]: We go way back.
11:15.105 --> 11:17.549
[SPEAKER_01]: We go way back because our wives go even further back.
11:18.730 --> 11:23.978
[SPEAKER_01]: Mark's wife, Mary and my wife Sarah were roommates way back in college.
11:23.958 --> 11:33.372
[SPEAKER_01]: And we, we're all, you know, dating at the same time in college and that's kind of how I, I got to, to know Mark, I got to know Mary obviously as well.
11:34.334 --> 11:36.597
[SPEAKER_01]: But Mark's an amazing human being.
11:36.958 --> 11:43.608
[SPEAKER_01]: He actually does listen to the podcast, so I hope that eventually, and I think Carson does too is what Mary has said, which is crazy.
11:44.369 --> 11:46.633
[SPEAKER_01]: So hopefully they get to listen to this at some point.
11:46.993 --> 11:49.577
[SPEAKER_01]: And Mark's an amazing guy dude.
11:49.617 --> 11:51.160
[SPEAKER_01]: He's so intelligent.
11:51.200 --> 11:52.682
[SPEAKER_01]: He's such a smart guy.
11:52.662 --> 11:58.689
[SPEAKER_01]: Like he's the kind of guy who could have a conversation 10 leagues above my head and I'm just like I don't know what he's talking about.
11:58.810 --> 12:00.912
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but he doesn't make your feel stupid.
12:00.932 --> 12:04.937
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I'm saying like he's a very kind and loving and generous human being.
12:06.018 --> 12:08.622
[SPEAKER_01]: And he's into all the geeky stuff as well.
12:08.722 --> 12:14.189
[SPEAKER_01]: We, you know, Lord of the Rings is a huge love of his certain music that he loves.
12:14.289 --> 12:16.692
[SPEAKER_01]: I've also like enjoyed as well.
12:16.952 --> 12:20.256
[SPEAKER_01]: And Cleveland Fanship, like he's a Browns fan.
12:20.236 --> 12:23.442
[SPEAKER_01]: Indians, Guardians fan, he's a Cavs fan, and so that's really cool.
12:23.482 --> 12:29.835
[SPEAKER_01]: He's actually from the greater Cleveland metro area, and so we were able to connect over that kind of stuff.
12:29.875 --> 12:33.321
[SPEAKER_01]: And he's, how do I describe Mark?
12:33.341 --> 12:35.806
[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, I developed this term.
12:35.826 --> 12:39.333
[SPEAKER_01]: I can't remember what it was, but like one of the greatest comedians of our time, unawares.
12:39.614 --> 12:41.417
[SPEAKER_01]: Like he is such a funny,
12:41.397 --> 13:06.595
[SPEAKER_01]: human being he's so funny and like he's like you know some people just have a natural pension for comedy they're just funny like they they don't even have to try like they just they they have one liners they're timing is impeccable versus like someone like me who is like corny and over the top and it's like dude could you take your meds or something like what is why are you like this like this is not funny time like
13:06.575 --> 13:34.506
[SPEAKER_01]: uh but um marks not like that marks one of those guys like he might lay down a little I don't know little piece of gold and you might just be so caught up in conversation in the moment you don't even catch it until driving home that night you're like oh my gosh he said that deep that is just next level cultivation of humor so but anyway they're actually living in England right now which is really really cool and
13:34.486 --> 13:37.774
[SPEAKER_01]: What brings us up is Carson just dressed up.
13:38.396 --> 13:46.155
[SPEAKER_01]: I believe was for a school event dressed up as his favorite Habit character, Bilbo Baggins, and he looked so cool.
13:46.175 --> 13:50.305
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he always looks cool, but he looked like a legit Habit.
13:50.345 --> 13:52.410
[SPEAKER_01]: He's walking around talking to Treebeard.
13:52.390 --> 14:15.782
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sitting in these beautiful English true Shire trees and Mary sent us these messages and it was so cool to see and I think I think I need to see if they want to play some roles in concerning Hobbits because that would be really special to have them in the radio drama they're able to and but anyway.
14:15.762 --> 14:24.628
[SPEAKER_01]: It was just so cool to see that love of Tolkien because I love when I see it in my own kids, right?
14:24.648 --> 14:27.296
[SPEAKER_01]: And I see it in other people's kids who are fans.
14:27.697 --> 14:28.860
[SPEAKER_01]: It feels...
14:29.633 --> 14:30.975
[SPEAKER_01]: excuse me.
14:31.215 --> 14:39.849
[SPEAKER_01]: It always kind of feels to me like some fandoms are kind of not forced, but it's like, hey, you're going to be like for instance in a lot of families.
14:39.869 --> 14:42.273
[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to be a Browns fan because Daddy's a Browns fan.
14:42.834 --> 14:44.076
[SPEAKER_01]: We're not going to cheer for them.
14:44.156 --> 14:45.498
[SPEAKER_01]: Bangle's like Uncle Les.
14:46.039 --> 14:48.623
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, because they're actually called a Cincinnati Bungles.
14:48.983 --> 14:50.406
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, we're not cheering for Liam.
14:51.207 --> 14:57.717
[SPEAKER_01]: As with Paul Brown went and did after he couldn't get over the fact that Cleveland loved
14:57.697 --> 15:01.731
[SPEAKER_01]: you know, art mode, they'll fire them, go to hell, art mode, whatever.
15:01.911 --> 15:02.895
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what they say.
15:02.935 --> 15:04.340
[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't invent that term.
15:04.360 --> 15:07.952
[SPEAKER_01]: That is, I can bleep myself out, but I don't think I should, that's history.
15:08.976 --> 15:09.698
[SPEAKER_01]: But, um,
15:10.792 --> 15:14.736
[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like a lot of times with Lord of the Rings, it's such a natural thing.
15:14.796 --> 15:32.372
[SPEAKER_01]: Because maybe it's because it connects so deeply to us and our character and who we are as people, that it's more than a fandom, I think, for most of us, it digs its way into your soul and you're being, and then it just, like if you love daddy, you're probably gonna love Lord of the Rings.
15:32.412 --> 15:38.217
[SPEAKER_01]: If you love mommy, you're probably gonna enjoy the Lord of the Rings or the Hobbiters or Tolkien's mythology.
15:38.257 --> 15:38.858
[SPEAKER_01]: And so,
15:38.838 --> 15:40.660
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, I just I love seeing that.
15:40.760 --> 15:41.361
[SPEAKER_01]: I love seeing it.
15:41.541 --> 15:53.454
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and uh, uh, a really good memory of Carson that I that came to mind when I was thinking about how I wanted to talk about them on this episode is They have two boys.
15:53.474 --> 15:56.016
[SPEAKER_01]: They have Carson and Bennett and it was Bennett's birthday.
15:56.036 --> 16:00.081
[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, we were having they were having a party at Ariel Foundation Park.
16:00.101 --> 16:03.985
[SPEAKER_01]: So if you've been to last year's LEP three, you know exactly the the location
16:03.965 --> 16:12.706
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, like one of the pavilions there, they haven't a birthday party and, uh, um, they were getting ready to, to move, I believe.
16:12.727 --> 16:16.556
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, military family, so they've moved all over the place, but they were back him out for an and for a minute.
16:17.639 --> 16:19.122
[SPEAKER_01]: And, uh, invited us.
16:19.202 --> 16:19.864
[SPEAKER_01]: We went.
16:19.844 --> 16:23.690
[SPEAKER_01]: And I remember, I can't remember how old Vega was.
16:23.710 --> 16:28.839
[SPEAKER_01]: I want to say like he might have been maybe just two or something.
16:28.899 --> 16:31.523
[SPEAKER_01]: So a lot of stuff was was was new.
16:31.564 --> 16:32.906
[SPEAKER_01]: We were processing a lot of stuff.
16:32.946 --> 16:36.672
[SPEAKER_01]: Traveling was was kind of like we weren't.
16:36.652 --> 16:39.475
[SPEAKER_01]: weren't as practiced and polished as we are now.
16:40.376 --> 16:42.478
[SPEAKER_01]: We're traveling as no big deal.
16:42.518 --> 16:44.080
[SPEAKER_01]: As long as Vigo's feeling good, we're good.
16:44.661 --> 16:46.022
[SPEAKER_01]: At that time, it was still kind of tricky.
16:46.963 --> 16:49.426
[SPEAKER_01]: But we were like, we want to go, this is a big deal.
16:49.466 --> 16:50.567
[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, absolutely, let's go.
16:50.587 --> 16:52.469
[SPEAKER_01]: So we went, anyway, I'm rambling.
16:52.509 --> 17:06.304
[SPEAKER_01]: But the really cool thing was, we were a Vigo wanted to get out and lay down, so we lay down a blanket just beyond the pavilion and we were laying there and Carson came over and was just, I just wanted to spend time with Vigo.
17:06.284 --> 17:16.157
[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of times, unfortunately, when people are different, right, certain percentage of the population just doesn't know how to interact.
17:16.217 --> 17:16.958
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I don't know.
17:16.978 --> 17:17.719
[SPEAKER_01]: They just don't.
17:17.759 --> 17:22.245
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not, most of the time, it's nothing like 99% of the time it's not malicious at all.
17:22.285 --> 17:25.410
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just sort of like an unfamiliarity, right?
17:25.790 --> 17:30.216
[SPEAKER_01]: Or just, I don't even know what it is, honestly.
17:30.196 --> 17:45.589
[SPEAKER_01]: But Carson came right over and was like laying next to Vigo and talking to him and he had questions about like You know his his trick and his vent and stuff and and I love when kids ask questions about Vigo's like medical equipment because
17:45.569 --> 17:53.101
[SPEAKER_01]: It's so beautiful because I think when it's sort of like people like kind of try to not see it or in order or something, I'm like, it's part of his body.
17:53.562 --> 17:55.806
[SPEAKER_01]: Like that vent is part of his lungs, right?
17:55.826 --> 17:58.170
[SPEAKER_01]: That trait is part of his, his airway.
17:59.351 --> 18:02.957
[SPEAKER_01]: His pulse ox is like a lifeline to know how he's doing.
18:02.977 --> 18:08.927
[SPEAKER_01]: Those, I think, God for those things, like those things are not something to look at as like,
18:08.907 --> 18:36.045
[SPEAKER_01]: hinders is now sometimes when the when the sensor goes off in the sun it's beeping you're like gosh dang this stupid thing like shut up you know there are moments like that I'm not saying it's always like oh yes but anyway I love how kids are always just the best because they're like well what does that do what does that what does that mean is a hurt or you know like what why is this and and I don't even remember him asking that many questions he just he laid there with Vigo and talked to him and looked at him
18:36.025 --> 18:52.448
[SPEAKER_01]: and there were other kids there, there was party stuff going on and he came over on his own volition, his parents weren't around that time, they were off, you know, doing party stuff, and then, you know, he came over and hung out with Vika when I thought, what a beautiful kind,
18:52.428 --> 19:07.838
[SPEAKER_01]: thoughtful human being carcenas and his whole family is that way so it's it's no surprise but he was such a a touching moment and so anyway huge shout out to the red nowers over in England I really need to get a
19:07.818 --> 19:12.205
[SPEAKER_01]: I need to get Jake and Mark together somehow because I think they'd have a blast.
19:13.287 --> 19:20.259
[SPEAKER_01]: Whether Mark went down to London and saw Jake or Jake went up and saw Mark, I think they really, they'd hit it off.
19:20.319 --> 19:23.244
[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, that's a little bit of quick counsel.
19:24.687 --> 19:28.493
[SPEAKER_01]: How am I doing, I guess, I should try to touch on that, I'm okay, you know.
19:29.570 --> 19:29.890
[SPEAKER_01]: man.
19:30.692 --> 19:35.498
[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry guys, my throat is dried out dehydrated, brother.
19:35.999 --> 19:41.506
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I, you know, gutter balls and strikes ups and downs, such as life.
19:42.067 --> 19:50.278
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I feel like right now personally, I kind of feel like I'm just treading water.
19:50.298 --> 19:53.282
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, my head is just above water and there's waves crashing down.
19:53.262 --> 19:54.123
[SPEAKER_01]: and I can't swim.
19:54.904 --> 19:59.510
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's a terrifying analogy to use, but I think it's even more fitting that way.
19:59.811 --> 20:17.034
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just kind of how I feel, uh, last time we recorded or I recorded with EAS, uh, you know, I talked a little bit about some of the scary emergency moments that we've had and, and like, just a, a really tough couple weeks of, like, frequency of those events with Vico, that involve the whole family.
20:17.354 --> 20:20.839
[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, that's, that's something that you,
20:22.287 --> 20:28.895
[SPEAKER_01]: At least for me I've been able to process pretty quickly and easily in the past I guess maybe maybe I've suppressed it.
20:28.935 --> 20:29.296
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
20:29.516 --> 20:31.719
[SPEAKER_01]: But it hasn't been like that this time.
20:32.319 --> 20:36.685
[SPEAKER_01]: It's been kind of difficult for me and I mean there's lots of going on to work right now.
20:37.466 --> 20:42.051
[SPEAKER_01]: To be honest there's a lot of stuff just going on in life.
20:42.472 --> 20:44.855
[SPEAKER_01]: And so yeah in general that's how I feel.
20:47.218 --> 20:47.818
[SPEAKER_01]: Is that okay?
20:47.918 --> 20:48.379
[SPEAKER_01]: It is okay.
20:49.895 --> 21:07.650
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it is okay, you know, being in the present, living in each moment, like fully experiencing it, not thinking about vacation six months from now, not thinking about the good old days and seventh grade chemistry, whatever.
21:10.010 --> 21:14.160
[SPEAKER_01]: being fully present in in each moment is it is exhausting, right?
21:15.203 --> 21:25.588
[SPEAKER_01]: I think because there is no escape from what is your current situation and circumstance, but it is the most rewarding thing.
21:25.568 --> 21:37.784
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and what sometimes that means you've got to kind of sit with discomfort and you have to Realize like okay, I might not have fun for a little bit.
21:38.465 --> 21:47.777
[SPEAKER_01]: This might be hard for a while I don't know even then you're kind of moving out of the present and so really it's just to feel it all I mean to feel things is is a huge part of humanity.
21:47.857 --> 21:53.044
[SPEAKER_01]: It like being a person and being alive and So anyway, yeah
21:53.024 --> 22:22.558
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so I've just been reminding myself that like these feelings I'm having this this this wait you know I always go back to to Frodo and Sam I think about Serenai as being Frodo and Sam a lot I'm not worried that it'd be Frodo or Sam she's kind of like Frodo and Sam and I'm gollum sort of on the way I guess that's maybe a better analogy up never thought of Sarah is Frodo and Sam and I'm gollum I mean I got the hair for it and the body honestly but um
22:22.538 --> 22:28.105
[SPEAKER_01]: I just thought of a pair of underwear that would probably be perfect for his loincloth.
22:28.226 --> 22:45.829
[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, I ramble a digress and I think about that a lot, and it gives me comfort and I think they weren't comfortable, ironic that it gives me comfort, knowing that they weren't comfortable, but we have each other.
22:45.809 --> 22:48.193
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, well, we talked about the other day.
22:48.414 --> 22:54.565
[SPEAKER_01]: The girls were talking about something and they're like, well, we're not rich, you know, and they didn't mean it in a bad way.
22:54.585 --> 22:58.572
[SPEAKER_01]: They meant it genuinely because we've been talking about it like in a hey, we need to kind of save some money.
22:58.613 --> 23:00.676
[SPEAKER_01]: We need to sort of be careful about this or that or whatever.
23:01.418 --> 23:03.421
[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of that's most families are going through that right now.
23:04.143 --> 23:04.864
[SPEAKER_01]: And, um,
23:04.844 --> 23:10.152
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, it was Charlotte and she was like, well, dad, we're not, you know, we're not rich.
23:10.933 --> 23:12.795
[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, I said, yeah, but you know what though?
23:13.016 --> 23:13.236
[SPEAKER_01]: What?
23:13.937 --> 23:15.739
[SPEAKER_01]: I guess I said, but we are though.
23:16.460 --> 23:16.961
[SPEAKER_01]: We are rich.
23:17.522 --> 23:19.865
[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, what, what, uh, you know, we have each other.
23:20.746 --> 23:22.549
[SPEAKER_01]: And we have a home that we love.
23:22.529 --> 23:32.433
[SPEAKER_01]: and we have life right now and you know we have love like an all-consuming love.
23:33.015 --> 23:39.711
[SPEAKER_01]: I should have died you're right, you know, and so anyway yeah.
23:41.075 --> 23:47.781
[SPEAKER_01]: To be in the moment, to be present, and to realize what you have, it's a special thing.
23:48.162 --> 23:55.809
[SPEAKER_01]: And I feel lucky to have the people around me and to remind me of that, my children, my wife, my friends, all of you.
23:55.849 --> 24:07.960
[SPEAKER_01]: So, so thank you to all of you for reminding me that this life is beautiful, and that struggles are part of it, and that hard times are...
24:07.940 --> 24:13.529
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know do that's when those shoots break out of the ground.
24:13.569 --> 24:14.790
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's happening right now.
24:14.871 --> 24:17.555
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not an easy part of being a plant.
24:17.575 --> 24:20.099
[SPEAKER_01]: I do it every year, man.
24:20.639 --> 24:22.482
[SPEAKER_01]: Those perennials that come out.
24:22.843 --> 24:23.664
[SPEAKER_01]: I hope that's right.
24:23.684 --> 24:24.465
[SPEAKER_01]: Gosh, I should know this.
24:24.485 --> 24:27.770
[SPEAKER_01]: I've been studying botany for concerning Hobbit season two.
24:28.151 --> 24:28.952
[SPEAKER_01]: Perennials.
24:29.759 --> 24:31.001
[SPEAKER_04]: It's a perennials or annuals.
24:31.101 --> 24:32.904
[SPEAKER_01]: God, my mom would be so disappointed in me.
24:33.245 --> 24:34.006
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry, mom.
24:34.687 --> 24:37.773
[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever plants come back year after year after year, you gotta do it.
24:37.793 --> 24:40.157
[SPEAKER_01]: They gotta do it again and again and again and again every year.
24:40.758 --> 24:46.007
[SPEAKER_01]: The burst through that ground and a void being clipped and a void being stepped on and a void being eaten.
24:46.047 --> 24:49.933
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so anyway, that's a beautiful reminder.
24:52.057 --> 24:55.142
[SPEAKER_01]: One of the things I wanted to bring up, traders.
24:56.911 --> 25:11.933
[SPEAKER_01]: Traders with Alan coming my gosh you the first time I saw an ad for that show I was like that looks like the cornea's dumbest thing I've ever seen I'm never gonna watch that show And it is corny and it is goofy, but it's beautiful
25:11.913 --> 25:13.296
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh, dude.
25:13.477 --> 25:17.266
[SPEAKER_01]: As you need to go watch this show is so good.
25:17.286 --> 25:19.933
[SPEAKER_01]: I know a reference that in a voice memo to you the other day.
25:20.253 --> 25:20.654
[SPEAKER_01]: Good boy.
25:20.714 --> 25:22.258
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, good boy.
25:22.278 --> 25:25.045
[SPEAKER_01]: He's just sitting down Just like reminds me just of Armin.
25:25.266 --> 25:25.626
[SPEAKER_01]: Good boy.
25:25.807 --> 25:26.488
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm talking about you.
25:27.551 --> 25:28.774
[SPEAKER_01]: That's a good boy
25:28.754 --> 25:35.442
[SPEAKER_01]: Sarah has this knack of like introducing me to things that I wouldn't otherwise do.
25:35.502 --> 25:52.360
[SPEAKER_01]: I think if you're lucky enough to have a beautiful partner in your life that, you know, exactly what I'm talking about, and she's done it again with the reality TV game show series traders.
25:53.462 --> 25:54.403
[SPEAKER_01]: She's like, you want to watch this to me?
25:54.423 --> 25:54.863
[SPEAKER_01]: It's pretty good.
25:54.883 --> 25:58.187
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like,
25:58.167 --> 25:58.728
[SPEAKER_01]: Incredible.
25:58.748 --> 25:59.610
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I've never seen it either.
25:59.630 --> 26:00.733
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, oh, could whatever.
26:00.933 --> 26:02.136
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, check and check it out.
26:02.156 --> 26:04.621
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll come in here and I'll just kind of silly.
26:04.641 --> 26:06.666
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think I'm going to like 20 minutes later.
26:06.706 --> 26:08.490
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, oh my, did, did they do they know each other?
26:09.171 --> 26:14.202
[SPEAKER_01]: Wait, wait, do they know that they're, so the traders and the faithful are like they, they do.
26:14.182 --> 26:15.884
[SPEAKER_01]: Gosh, this is a round table.
26:16.525 --> 26:16.805
[SPEAKER_01]: What is it?
26:16.825 --> 26:17.726
[SPEAKER_01]: What are they?
26:17.746 --> 26:18.928
[SPEAKER_01]: And then you're fully hooked, right?
26:19.388 --> 26:24.274
[SPEAKER_01]: So the last like week we've been blitzing through the most recent season, which is I believe over.
26:24.334 --> 26:27.458
[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm gonna try to avoid spoilers, but if I do spoil.
26:27.518 --> 26:28.018
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry.
26:28.178 --> 26:28.759
[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's done.
26:28.959 --> 26:39.852
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, um, long story short, a trader decides to turn on
26:40.979 --> 27:08.100
[SPEAKER_01]: It messed me up, dude, not really messed me up, but I was, it happened twice by Lisa by by Candace and I I was like what the heck I was like what is he doing I'd like this guy to I'd like to rob I was like what is going on Sarah like what is he doing she's like laying it's a game I'm like I know but like what?
27:08.755 --> 27:34.729
[SPEAKER_01]: no honor amongst thieves like what is this man like a treacherous trader like what is happening and i i was like sitting outside i'm gonna smoke sorry kids don't smoke um... i don't know yeah no don't but sit outside and i was thinking about like why does that bother me like it doesn't bother me to keep me up at night but don't sit well with me right i'm just like she's like what would you do lane i was like you know i do
27:34.709 --> 27:40.377
[SPEAKER_01]: I'd go to that round table, and if one of my traders was about to get gone out, I would reveal myself.
27:40.798 --> 27:47.747
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'd say, I'm a trader, vote me out, just to draw attention off of them, so that they could continue on.
27:47.768 --> 27:49.610
[SPEAKER_01]: She's like, wow, okay.
27:51.413 --> 27:52.574
[SPEAKER_01]: That's a dumb way to play the game.
27:52.594 --> 27:55.759
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, but if you do this in a game, you're going to do it in life.
27:55.799 --> 27:56.920
[SPEAKER_01]: She's like, no, that's not true.
27:56.981 --> 27:57.521
[SPEAKER_01]: And she's right.
27:57.882 --> 27:58.262
[SPEAKER_01]: She's right.
27:58.643 --> 28:00.325
[SPEAKER_01]: I think I'm putting way too much stock into it.
28:00.506 --> 28:01.527
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway,
28:01.507 --> 28:03.669
[SPEAKER_01]: I started thinking about, there's a lot of treachery this chapter.
28:04.110 --> 28:10.097
[SPEAKER_01]: So it does have kind of an applicability, but I thought to myself, I'm like, what is that bother me?
28:10.117 --> 28:11.158
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, what is the core of that?
28:11.258 --> 28:13.100
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, why does that bother me so much?
28:13.120 --> 28:28.057
[SPEAKER_01]: I think one of my biggest things in life is when people are betrayed, whether it's a small thing, like, you know, I don't know, gossip or, or, you know, someone not coming through when you really need it or something big.
28:28.237 --> 28:30.720
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I don't know.
28:30.700 --> 28:33.464
[SPEAKER_01]: a severance of a friendship for no matter what I whatever it is.
28:33.565 --> 28:38.292
[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's always like bothered me and I've always thought like I just I don't want to be like that.
28:38.312 --> 28:39.273
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to be a trader.
28:39.774 --> 28:48.328
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want someone to have to question my intentions or my where my heart is or anything like that or even where my head is necessarily.
28:49.189 --> 28:51.713
[SPEAKER_01]: So
28:51.693 --> 28:53.396
[SPEAKER_01]: It does bother me, but I'm like, why?
28:53.636 --> 28:54.478
[SPEAKER_01]: Why does it bother me?
28:54.578 --> 28:56.301
[SPEAKER_01]: And I started thinking about Lord of the Rings.
28:57.683 --> 28:59.206
[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, because that's my lens.
28:59.947 --> 29:01.931
[SPEAKER_01]: And, um, and I thought about this chapter.
29:01.951 --> 29:03.073
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there's a lot of treachery dude.
29:03.093 --> 29:05.937
[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of, a lot of just the unrest of the Noldore, right?
29:05.957 --> 29:07.440
[SPEAKER_01]: And then Melcore getting in there and
29:07.420 --> 29:10.284
[SPEAKER_01]: and weaving to seed and being a trader, right?
29:10.384 --> 29:11.126
[SPEAKER_01]: The ultimate trader.
29:11.386 --> 29:24.345
[SPEAKER_01]: And then trying to sort of twist things and like plant seeds of truth with a little grain of the truth, just to see if it'll take root.
29:24.385 --> 29:32.417
[SPEAKER_01]: And trying to turn the Noldore against each other, really, brother against brother and specific cases.
29:33.219 --> 29:34.120
[SPEAKER_01]: And,
29:34.100 --> 29:41.248
[SPEAKER_01]: I thought about this this moment came to a mind where I was like, dude, it just just burst in my mind and like what is the opposite of treachery?
29:41.948 --> 29:45.232
[SPEAKER_01]: And I thought about the fellowship at the end of the fellowship of the ring.
29:46.513 --> 29:49.496
[SPEAKER_01]: And Gimli, you know, Lamancy says, and it's all been in vain.
29:50.237 --> 29:52.360
[SPEAKER_01]: The fellowship is failed.
29:52.380 --> 29:53.841
[SPEAKER_01]: And everyone takes a beat.
29:55.323 --> 29:57.085
[SPEAKER_01]: Takes a moment.
29:57.105 --> 30:03.111
[SPEAKER_01]: Walks up to legolas and Gimli puts his hand on each one of their shoulders and he says,
30:05.825 --> 30:12.292
[SPEAKER_01]: not if we hold true to each other and I might do that is it, man, that is it.
30:12.352 --> 30:19.239
[SPEAKER_01]: That is the opposite of treachery holding true to each other and I thought about the fellowship.
30:19.339 --> 30:31.012
[SPEAKER_01]: Like even when they got splintered, even when they were in different places, even when they had no idea of the fate of their friends, of their fellowship members.
30:31.953 --> 30:34.195
[SPEAKER_01]: They still held true to each other.
30:35.963 --> 30:37.205
[SPEAKER_01]: And it just really blew my mind.
30:37.245 --> 30:39.348
[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, dude, that's it.
30:39.849 --> 31:04.907
[SPEAKER_01]: I thought to myself, if I got nothing else in this life, if that's all that I have, the resolve to hold true to my family, my kids, my wife, my friends, my colleagues, I work, the students, I teach uppers, keepers from concerning Hobbits,
31:05.545 --> 31:16.181
[SPEAKER_01]: Strangers even holding true to each other if if that's all I got I think it just supersedes everything I think that's it man.
31:16.221 --> 31:21.048
[SPEAKER_01]: I was looking up at the stars of course, and it was just like Hitting me in ways where I was like man.
31:21.068 --> 31:22.631
[SPEAKER_01]: This is just I think this is it.
31:22.711 --> 31:31.384
[SPEAKER_01]: I think this is almost kind of Maybe sir, maybe surpasses WWE AD whole true to each other and
31:32.275 --> 31:32.596
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
31:32.817 --> 31:33.198
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
31:33.739 --> 31:35.003
[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's what we got to do.
31:35.043 --> 31:41.421
[SPEAKER_01]: I think I think even more importantly than like what you believe I'm people are going to get upset about this, but I'm just going to say it for me personally right now.
31:41.802 --> 31:47.297
[SPEAKER_01]: I think even more importantly than than what you believe or if you have spirituality or religion or
31:47.277 --> 32:10.990
[SPEAKER_01]: or whatever, whatever your station is in life, whatever your beliefs are that holding true to each other is how we fight the darkness, like there is evil in the world, like there are bad things that happen and there are people that give into that and succumb to that evil I thought about the fellowship they never succumbed, succumbed, succumbed, succumbed.
32:12.995 --> 32:39.660
[SPEAKER_01]: sucked I mean they never they never like gave into that and they could have they could have easily been like yeah well you know what this is screwed um I mean so I'm on did so I'm on did you know heavy had man if he hadn't succlaimed succumbed if he hadn't sucked like it would have been a different story and so anyway I just thought that was really really interesting and uh
32:40.754 --> 32:52.160
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so even when times are hard, I think that's how we fight the darkness even when you can't see anything else even when you feel like you're just barely you're just you've got one nostril above the the the water, you know.
32:52.201 --> 32:59.337
[SPEAKER_01]: Holding true to each other is how you can you can carry on and how you can do it in a way that.
33:00.667 --> 33:16.785
[SPEAKER_01]: then not just fights the darkness but fights for the for the light for goodness and hope and love and uh yeah so anyway that's a little quick council not very quick I apologize for that um if you don't want to give a huge shout out to the house of the golden flower
33:16.765 --> 33:18.729
[SPEAKER_01]: They're amazing.
33:18.749 --> 33:19.812
[SPEAKER_01]: They're top to your patrons.
33:20.172 --> 33:21.134
[SPEAKER_01]: We love all our patrons.
33:21.155 --> 33:30.735
[SPEAKER_01]: We love all our supporters, whether you, you know, patronize financially or just through your love and your support and your, your friendship.
33:32.058 --> 33:33.281
[SPEAKER_01]: It's all, it's all the same.
33:33.562 --> 33:34.864
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's all invaluable.
33:35.065 --> 33:36.107
[SPEAKER_01]: It's all.
33:36.087 --> 33:49.703
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, greater than than all the riches of Arab war, and it was so cool to hear Aaron and Steve and John join as last Chapter last episode and have that kind of Shared quick counsel.
33:49.803 --> 33:53.408
[SPEAKER_01]: I loved hearing and they're they're they're underrated characters.
33:53.708 --> 33:56.391
[SPEAKER_01]: We're amazing to me Steve.
33:56.451 --> 34:00.576
[SPEAKER_01]: I see you had my jaw on the on the floor hearing his take on Frodo
34:00.556 --> 34:07.647
[SPEAKER_01]: And I started thinking I'm like how many people do I know that Frodo is their favorite character or that they're obsessed with, I'm like not enough.
34:09.247 --> 34:13.253
[SPEAKER_01]: Not enough people, you know, it made me feel kind of silly.
34:13.273 --> 34:21.123
[SPEAKER_01]: Honestly, honestly, what it made me do is I was like, I got to find ways to incorporate, you know, Frodo, Mr. Frodo, into concerning Hobbit's more.
34:21.264 --> 34:22.305
[SPEAKER_01]: Moving into seasons two and three.
34:22.325 --> 34:23.186
[SPEAKER_01]: I need to have some nuggets.
34:23.206 --> 34:25.550
[SPEAKER_01]: I need to have some stories told about him.
34:25.590 --> 34:31.738
[SPEAKER_01]: There is one specifically, but I think his importance seems to be kind of acknowledged within the shy or something.
34:31.758 --> 34:32.079
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
34:32.439 --> 34:33.060
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, anyway.
34:35.605 --> 34:45.429
[SPEAKER_01]: I know it's not necessarily canon because the hobbits didn't really know what happened and it was kind of like this thing that He's still seem kind of crazy like his uncle even though you save the world.
34:45.770 --> 34:46.712
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, but uh
34:47.924 --> 34:51.008
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, um, that was a fantastic point.
34:51.028 --> 34:55.795
[SPEAKER_01]: Really got me thinking really made me feel kind of bad for not for not loving a photo more, especially photo of the books.
34:55.815 --> 34:59.020
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, photo from the films is I know a lot of people will sort of split on.
34:59.781 --> 35:02.224
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I still love Elijah Woods portrayal.
35:02.265 --> 35:06.070
[SPEAKER_01]: I still love, you know, shade of photo, if you will.
35:06.090 --> 35:08.293
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and then John talking about Sauron.
35:08.333 --> 35:09.275
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, yeah dog.
35:09.315 --> 35:10.516
[SPEAKER_01]: That's that's true.
35:12.018 --> 35:12.880
[SPEAKER_01]: Without Sauron.
35:13.501 --> 35:14.522
[SPEAKER_01]: What we got, bro?
35:15.970 --> 35:21.498
[SPEAKER_01]: Without dark, they're cannot be light, man, or at least, I shouldn't say that.
35:21.818 --> 35:25.083
[SPEAKER_01]: Without dark, you quickly forget where the light comes from.
35:25.664 --> 35:26.064
[SPEAKER_01]: I will say.
35:26.565 --> 35:27.566
[SPEAKER_01]: And we see it with fanor.
35:28.868 --> 35:29.369
[SPEAKER_01]: She's too cute.
35:30.550 --> 35:33.094
[SPEAKER_01]: Starts to think that that light came from him, brother.
35:33.755 --> 35:36.058
[SPEAKER_01]: She's, man, here I was thinking of John your right.
35:36.198 --> 35:39.823
[SPEAKER_01]: Here I was thinking the elves were these special creatures.
35:40.885 --> 35:42.467
[SPEAKER_01]: And they are, I guess.
35:42.987 --> 35:47.297
[SPEAKER_01]: a man they're screwed up to it's almost like they can be even more screwed up than mankind.
35:48.480 --> 35:50.926
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's pretty wild.
35:51.286 --> 35:57.040
[SPEAKER_01]: So I thought that was a great take and then Aaron bringing up farmer maggot and Mrs. maggot.
35:58.143 --> 35:59.205
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're bravery.
35:59.305 --> 35:59.646
[SPEAKER_01]: They're
36:01.617 --> 36:08.685
[SPEAKER_01]: reluctance to, to ride out Frodo and Pippin and Sam.
36:09.927 --> 36:14.432
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that rider, that black rider riding up, they had no idea that it was Mary.
36:15.012 --> 36:16.214
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I was, I was fooled.
36:16.915 --> 36:18.997
[SPEAKER_01]: I remember reading out the first time thinking, oh, they're done.
36:19.918 --> 36:20.839
[SPEAKER_01]: That's that one that was down.
36:21.380 --> 36:23.983
[SPEAKER_01]: Backshot road talking to Gaffer Gamjee.
36:24.283 --> 36:25.304
[SPEAKER_01]: He's finally caught up to him.
36:25.564 --> 36:28.688
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I guess, I don't know what the rest of these pages are about, but
36:28.668 --> 36:32.011
[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, I thought it was a fantastic take.
36:32.211 --> 36:37.496
[SPEAKER_01]: These characters that are underrated that we don't really think about, or we don't, you know, within Sauron's case.
36:37.516 --> 36:42.101
[SPEAKER_01]: We don't think about kind of their character and from a different point of view, right?
36:42.401 --> 36:43.282
[SPEAKER_01]: From a certain point of view.
36:44.743 --> 36:45.604
[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I love that.
36:46.305 --> 36:48.987
[SPEAKER_01]: OK, we did to hear more of that.
36:49.308 --> 36:50.949
[SPEAKER_01]: I wish I had the technology, guys.
36:51.069 --> 36:51.890
[SPEAKER_01]: I just don't have that.
36:51.910 --> 36:53.031
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not the flannel wizard.
36:53.051 --> 36:53.952
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not the tech wizard.
36:54.753 --> 36:58.236
[SPEAKER_01]: I am at, um,
36:58.216 --> 36:58.977
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm inadequate.
36:59.157 --> 36:59.918
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what I am.
37:00.198 --> 37:09.908
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just a dude with synapses firing and everyone wants to know why they connect and it probably feels like a bigger deal than it actually is.
37:10.949 --> 37:13.412
[SPEAKER_01]: But that's that's who I am.
37:14.573 --> 37:18.217
[SPEAKER_01]: What can you do to share the load?
37:19.117 --> 37:23.242
[SPEAKER_01]: We've been starting to put this up for on a little bit too and I'm going to concur with my brother as a clerk.
37:24.343 --> 37:26.485
[SPEAKER_01]: Old as he may or might be.
37:26.465 --> 37:29.629
[SPEAKER_01]: That would be a product line, sort of a teddy bear and as he bear.
37:30.550 --> 37:33.794
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, that might get kind of weird, um, middle-earth mingle.
37:34.835 --> 37:36.337
[SPEAKER_01]: You received five as he bears.
37:37.058 --> 37:39.822
[SPEAKER_01]: You're a match across five as he bear categories.
37:41.303 --> 37:47.451
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I think what you can do to support an unexpected podcast is literally tele-friendly.
37:47.551 --> 37:51.116
[SPEAKER_01]: Tele-friendly, um, maybe not even like about us.
37:51.716 --> 37:53.739
[SPEAKER_01]: I, I, not to, not to do their own horns.
37:53.859 --> 37:54.700
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what that would be.
37:56.384 --> 38:03.980
[SPEAKER_01]: What would not tuting your own horn be the opposite of tuting your own horn would be Just plow it into some I would it be like running a red?
38:04.000 --> 38:06.466
[SPEAKER_01]: No, I know what it is.
38:06.486 --> 38:07.187
[SPEAKER_01]: I know what it is.
38:08.750 --> 38:09.312
[SPEAKER_01]: I know what it is.
38:10.274 --> 38:17.008
[SPEAKER_01]: That person in front of you they're on their phone and they didn't see that it went from red to green the light changed and you're behind them.
38:17.731 --> 38:19.393
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a Midwest thing in New York.
38:19.413 --> 38:23.698
[SPEAKER_01]: They're just like, ah, come on, bro, move our big cities whatever.
38:23.738 --> 38:24.920
[SPEAKER_01]: They might even just go around you.
38:25.420 --> 38:28.524
[SPEAKER_01]: Here in the Midwest, we have like a, what's it called?
38:28.564 --> 38:34.751
[SPEAKER_01]: Kind of like a, like a, like a courtesy time or something.
38:34.771 --> 38:35.753
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even know what you call it.
38:35.773 --> 38:44.363
[SPEAKER_01]: There's like a, there's like a, a leniency where we're kind of like, okay, 1,000, 2,000.
38:44.343 --> 38:45.124
[SPEAKER_01]: 31,000.
38:45.184 --> 38:47.388
[SPEAKER_01]: It's sort of like five horse rush.
38:47.649 --> 38:49.732
[SPEAKER_01]: When you're playing on the playground, it's like you can't rush right away.
38:49.752 --> 38:50.433
[SPEAKER_01]: There's no Lyman.
38:50.974 --> 38:52.236
[SPEAKER_01]: You got to count to five.
38:52.277 --> 38:53.238
[SPEAKER_01]: You got to do it out loud.
38:53.318 --> 38:54.000
[SPEAKER_01]: It's one of those things.
38:54.020 --> 38:55.322
[SPEAKER_01]: You're like, okay.
38:55.342 --> 38:55.943
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
38:56.083 --> 38:57.526
[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's the opposite of tuning around horn.
38:58.427 --> 38:59.168
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's what this is.
38:59.890 --> 39:01.913
[SPEAKER_01]: Just go like.
39:01.893 --> 39:05.858
[SPEAKER_01]: connect with someone who loves Lord of the Rings that you know.
39:05.899 --> 39:07.200
[SPEAKER_01]: I think about Rachel Ritchie a lot.
39:07.240 --> 39:24.704
[SPEAKER_01]: Like she, you know, talks about how we were her only Lord of the Rings friends or her only, um, you know, what I'm just, yeah, I mean, yeah, the only people that she could listen to and and talk back to, because that you talk back to podcast, I do it all the time, um, that sometimes you scream.
39:24.724 --> 39:26.026
[SPEAKER_01]: You're like, dude, you missed that point.
39:26.126 --> 39:27.088
[SPEAKER_01]: What is wrong with you, Lane?
39:27.108 --> 39:27.608
[SPEAKER_01]: You're an idiot.
39:28.850 --> 39:29.571
[SPEAKER_01]: But um,
39:31.103 --> 39:43.902
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that we were like the only people in her circle that shared this obsession with this fandom and yeah, we got to put it into that.
39:43.963 --> 39:50.913
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, sometimes unavoidable right just happens and that's okay, but yeah, so just just just take a chance for talking.
39:51.073 --> 39:55.440
[SPEAKER_01]: I guess what I'm just going to go out and say, hey, have you heard of
39:55.420 --> 40:11.151
[SPEAKER_01]: J.R. Tolkien, and because I think a lot of people, like, love it, either it's like a part of their life in the past or it's something they, I don't know, they love enough, but they're not fully obsessed with or something they're kind of maybe they got made fun of when they were younger.
40:11.384 --> 40:29.275
[SPEAKER_01]: talking nerd dungeons and dorgons you little geeker something they got a wedgie and then they wrote Tolkien on your waistband or I don't know or like 10 can I mean they missed belt it I don't know Tolkien something like that but it's
40:29.255 --> 40:30.336
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna come back to it.
40:31.117 --> 40:45.974
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe there's pain there, you know, associated with this fandom and not want to like shout out from the rooftop So go find somebody who you think might love Tolkien and yeah, I don't know go on an adventure with them go on a hike or something read a book Could even talk about other other things you're interested in too.
40:46.034 --> 40:51.060
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean there's all kinds of stuff in life that I don't know Tolkien was had wide interests
40:52.070 --> 41:01.310
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, okay, we're gonna do some drop-in-a-s, drop-in-a-s, as I want to let you know I haven't edited a single second yet, and I don't have a dock in front of me, boy.
41:01.751 --> 41:03.094
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going dockless.
41:04.357 --> 41:10.230
[SPEAKER_01]: Wasn't that like a, I want to say like when we were coming up in the 90s, there was like a dockers?
41:10.210 --> 41:12.113
[SPEAKER_01]: Like the docker, I don't think they even make them anymore.
41:12.133 --> 41:14.176
[SPEAKER_01]: They make dockers, khaki's anymore.
41:14.256 --> 41:15.178
[SPEAKER_01]: They're like dress pants.
41:15.899 --> 41:23.651
[SPEAKER_01]: And it was like, like, if you had money when you went into colds or JCPenny, you got dockers, they weren't cool per se.
41:24.131 --> 41:29.079
[SPEAKER_01]: But it was like, if you were wearing boat shoes, you were wearing dockers, kind of a deal.
41:32.003 --> 41:33.045
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, anyway.
41:35.000 --> 41:36.662
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so glad I hit record for a second.
41:36.682 --> 41:40.567
[SPEAKER_01]: I thought I wasn't recording it in this Dockers.
41:41.247 --> 41:46.594
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I kind of wonder I think there was like a commercial world's like he's he's going Docker lists.
41:46.694 --> 41:49.737
[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't maybe not that'd be like an underwear commercial anyway.
41:49.798 --> 41:52.841
[SPEAKER_01]: I am going dockless And I have not forgotten the name of any segments.
41:52.881 --> 42:00.450
[SPEAKER_01]: I have not you know even hesitated brother, but I know that's because I am the docking True.
42:00.691 --> 42:01.532
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if I yeah.
42:01.672 --> 42:02.813
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, pressure
42:02.793 --> 42:08.682
[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, the, I'm, I, I, I love the doc, I rely on the doc, I love sharing it.
42:08.762 --> 42:12.528
[SPEAKER_01]: I love, I love, you know, putting little bits in there that maybe as we'll see, maybe he won't.
42:13.089 --> 42:17.095
[SPEAKER_01]: I love writing that little chapter intro and thinking, oh, I use never.
42:17.115 --> 42:18.978
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, it's like setting up an obstacle course.
42:19.018 --> 42:20.760
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, he's never going to get through this.
42:21.141 --> 42:23.525
[SPEAKER_01]: And then when he does, it's like, holy crap, dude.
42:23.545 --> 42:31.737
[SPEAKER_01]: He has
42:33.387 --> 42:35.633
[SPEAKER_01]: the old panda king.
42:36.435 --> 42:39.904
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, anyway, drop an eaves.
42:40.345 --> 42:42.551
[SPEAKER_01]: We actually have some crazy stuff to talk about.
42:44.055 --> 42:44.376
[SPEAKER_01]: Not.
42:45.520 --> 42:46.341
[SPEAKER_01]: not rings a power.
42:46.541 --> 42:47.022
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry.
42:47.122 --> 42:48.344
[SPEAKER_01]: I know that's what you guys thought.
42:48.905 --> 42:53.291
[SPEAKER_01]: This was going to be there are rumors though, actually on a release date now, Ezra Kirk.
42:54.293 --> 42:56.556
[SPEAKER_01]: He is an insider for rings of power.
42:57.597 --> 43:01.804
[SPEAKER_01]: Goes by the flannel wizard at tag.
43:01.824 --> 43:05.148
[SPEAKER_01]: By the way, guys, 100,000 subscribers on YouTube.
43:07.812 --> 43:09.715
[SPEAKER_01]: Give it up for my boy, dude.
43:09.735 --> 43:11.798
[SPEAKER_01]: And that humble son of a gun.
43:13.364 --> 43:22.806
[SPEAKER_01]: That hungle, that hungle, whoops, that humble young man has that plaque off camera.
43:22.826 --> 43:24.891
[SPEAKER_01]: And I went over last week to see him.
43:24.911 --> 43:28.740
[SPEAKER_01]: I was able to pop in real quick on on, uh,
43:29.902 --> 43:42.640
[SPEAKER_01]: Drop an E is which is no quick council which was awesome and see the see John and Aaron and Steve My brink list out there for a minute.
43:42.660 --> 43:55.217
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what that was names But saw that thing just sitting there I'm like my gosh As you didn't even tell me him about I'm so proud of you so anyway huge again another
43:55.197 --> 43:56.959
[SPEAKER_01]: Danny Govasion for the final wizard.
43:57.320 --> 43:58.041
[SPEAKER_01]: Well deserved.
43:58.421 --> 44:00.764
[SPEAKER_01]: Go subscribe to him on YouTube.
44:00.904 --> 44:01.825
[SPEAKER_01]: He does everything.
44:01.866 --> 44:04.489
[SPEAKER_01]: He covers all of his fandoms and it's incredible.
44:04.669 --> 44:06.191
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean the way he's able to.
44:06.251 --> 44:10.156
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like what he does every episode in the chapter, how he navigates us through.
44:11.097 --> 44:13.260
[SPEAKER_01]: Crunch into like a minute, 30 second.
44:13.921 --> 44:16.384
[SPEAKER_01]: Real that dives.
44:17.466 --> 44:20.209
[SPEAKER_01]: Ask great questions and then answers.
44:20.189 --> 44:22.753
[SPEAKER_01]: answers great questions.
44:22.913 --> 44:26.498
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, really well, but it's been done.
44:28.421 --> 44:38.957
[SPEAKER_01]: But he, I think he's pretty convinced that season three of Rings of Power isn't coming, isn't going to be coming out until 2027.
44:38.937 --> 44:42.322
[SPEAKER_01]: I've still kind of held fast at this like one in his reasoning is good.
44:42.342 --> 44:49.733
[SPEAKER_01]: We talked about this last episode his reason is good There hasn't been any we haven't heard any buzz like there's been nothing about there's been no Press there's been no teasers has been no trailers.
44:49.953 --> 44:50.794
[SPEAKER_01]: Nothing nothing.
44:50.854 --> 44:59.747
[SPEAKER_01]: No one's even talking about we get this picture of Jamie Campbell bower saying oh, I guess we shouldn't take a pick we broke that rule pictures
44:59.727 --> 45:02.895
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, OK, you're going to have to do more for us guys.
45:02.915 --> 45:07.546
[SPEAKER_01]: We're used to Peter Jackson, OK, and the professor himself.
45:07.687 --> 45:09.952
[SPEAKER_01]: So let's do something here.
45:10.714 --> 45:17.010
[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, what was I going to say?
45:18.391 --> 45:21.174
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I still think it's going to be coming out this year.
45:21.194 --> 45:33.269
[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's going to be coming out in the fall, maybe Q4, maybe N to Q3, there is a rumored release date though for season three, November 11th, 2020, 2006.
45:33.369 --> 45:35.652
[SPEAKER_01]: That's just been kind of dangled out there again.
45:35.692 --> 45:37.755
[SPEAKER_01]: It's rumored it's not for sure, it's not setting stone.
45:37.795 --> 45:40.298
[SPEAKER_01]: That would be a whole different, you know, kind of.
45:40.278 --> 45:45.851
[SPEAKER_01]: time of the year that'd be like pre Thanksgiving and work us right up probably close to Christmas time.
45:46.092 --> 45:48.858
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm imagining if there's going to be six episodes depending on how they dropped them.
45:48.878 --> 45:56.616
[SPEAKER_01]: I think last time it was like a five week kind of when all things were said and done it was a five week sort of experience.
45:56.596 --> 46:04.347
[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, so November 11th, 2026 is the tentative release date now, rumored release date.
46:04.367 --> 46:05.569
[SPEAKER_01]: I should say it's not even tentative.
46:05.589 --> 46:06.750
[SPEAKER_01]: It hasn't been confirmed anywhere.
46:07.171 --> 46:08.733
[SPEAKER_01]: But that's pretty much the only news brings a power.
46:10.115 --> 46:11.377
[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be interesting, I think.
46:11.778 --> 46:16.624
[SPEAKER_01]: Again, it'll be fun to just talk and we'll open the Hobbit hotline and we'll cover it.
46:17.546 --> 46:22.252
[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, it'll probably be in a different way than we ever had before, but that's what we like doing that.
46:22.332 --> 46:25.557
[SPEAKER_01]: We like mixing it up, just like we're doing now with these,
46:25.537 --> 46:42.803
[SPEAKER_01]: solo episodes to to make sure that we get through the similar really in it's it's uh yeah what we'll do the same for forings of power now the big news is in the hunt for gallum this just Steven Matthew huge shout-out man he's always keeping us up dude he is our own personal like
46:42.783 --> 46:44.827
[SPEAKER_01]: spy, informant.
46:45.688 --> 46:47.692
[SPEAKER_01]: He's our own personal informant.
46:47.772 --> 46:56.187
[SPEAKER_01]: Anytime something drops concerning Lord of the Rings, he out get a text, I'll get an Instagram message, Steven Matthew, amazing man.
46:57.669 --> 47:01.396
[SPEAKER_01]: Going check out his podcast, what inspired me today, he's doing amazing work.
47:01.556 --> 47:07.727
[SPEAKER_01]: It's very uplifting and encouraging and applicable for you know, whoever you are really.
47:07.707 --> 47:11.312
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, anyway, he texted me literally this evening.
47:12.114 --> 47:15.359
[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, I was like, okay, I got a reserved my energy and recording tonight.
47:15.419 --> 47:16.801
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, what am I going to talk about?
47:16.821 --> 47:18.263
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh, we're going to talk about the show.
47:18.323 --> 47:20.406
[SPEAKER_01]: I can't believe I have even the thought about what am I doing?
47:20.446 --> 47:23.271
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh, you got to talk about how for Gollum, what am I doing?
47:23.291 --> 47:24.272
[SPEAKER_01]: I can't even thought about it.
47:25.254 --> 47:25.855
[SPEAKER_01]: Guess what, guys?
47:26.676 --> 47:30.402
[SPEAKER_01]: We have a rumored confirmed actor.
47:31.463 --> 47:32.385
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's a lie.
47:32.405 --> 47:32.845
[SPEAKER_00]: She would.
47:33.005 --> 47:33.246
[SPEAKER_01]: Nope.
47:34.107 --> 47:35.449
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's Iron McKellen.
47:35.770 --> 47:36.010
[SPEAKER_01]: Nope.
47:37.829 --> 47:40.074
[SPEAKER_01]: Young Aragon Strider, okay?
47:41.016 --> 47:53.762
[SPEAKER_01]: We have a rumored and at this point when you hear it, this is gonna be a couple of days for now You're gonna be like Wayne, we know this is old news, but in the moment right now I'm relishing this because it's it's never It's never right before we record one time it happened
47:53.742 --> 48:06.775
[SPEAKER_01]: with Kurt Jones when they released the map and we saw, you know, the first teaser for the rings of power way back when that's the the only time we've ever had like a prior to or during the recording of an episode, something big drop.
48:07.356 --> 48:09.277
[SPEAKER_01]: So Leo Woodall.
48:10.318 --> 48:13.241
[SPEAKER_01]: All right, this guy is a young actor.
48:14.563 --> 48:19.167
[SPEAKER_01]: I know him for all I recognize his, I didn't recognize his name, sorry, no fence.
48:19.327 --> 48:21.910
[SPEAKER_01]: I recognize
48:23.257 --> 48:24.121
[SPEAKER_01]: of the White Lotus.
48:27.104 --> 48:28.946
[SPEAKER_01]: He plays a character in that show.
48:29.927 --> 48:39.536
[SPEAKER_01]: Kind of sort of tries to seduce Jennifer Coolidge's characters, personal assistant, and kind of like steal her away and you think it's nefarious.
48:39.556 --> 48:40.778
[SPEAKER_01]: And I can't even remember if it really is.
48:40.798 --> 48:42.900
[SPEAKER_01]: It probably is because it's the white lotus.
48:42.960 --> 48:45.322
[SPEAKER_01]: But kind of recognize him.
48:45.342 --> 48:47.224
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, yeah, okay, I know this guy.
48:47.565 --> 48:50.688
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, wait a minute, does he even remotely?
48:50.868 --> 48:51.969
[SPEAKER_01]: And this is going to surprise people.
48:52.610 --> 48:55.052
[SPEAKER_01]: I should have put this up front, but this is going to surprise people.
48:56.652 --> 48:58.515
[SPEAKER_01]: I let me preface it by this.
48:59.477 --> 49:05.566
[SPEAKER_01]: I realized a while ago that I'm not going to love anything for the hunt for gone I'm not going to love anything.
49:05.586 --> 49:07.710
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to love all your new air going on going on.
49:07.730 --> 49:08.671
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to love the plot.
49:09.673 --> 49:13.860
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to love your your Nods to nostalgia.
49:14.581 --> 49:15.943
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to love any of it
49:15.923 --> 49:20.810
[SPEAKER_01]: And once you realize that, once you kind of come to terms with that, you're free to like stuff.
49:21.331 --> 49:30.063
[SPEAKER_01]: If that makes any sense, that might be the dumbest thing I've ever said, hold me to it, hold me to an Andrew Hill will, I know he will, but it might be the dumbest thing I've ever said.
49:30.684 --> 49:35.711
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but knowing that I'm not going to love any of it, I'm able to like some of it.
49:36.011 --> 49:37.113
[SPEAKER_01]: I like this casting.
49:37.333 --> 49:39.636
[SPEAKER_04]: I can't believe I just said that.
49:41.692 --> 49:43.194
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I shouldn't say it, and that's too strong.
49:43.294 --> 49:43.955
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't hate it.
49:45.317 --> 49:46.859
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't hate it.
49:46.919 --> 49:50.645
[SPEAKER_01]: I think he looks, he looks enough like Vigo Mortensen.
49:51.486 --> 49:59.297
[SPEAKER_01]: But even more than that, I was kind of thinking about that character from the character from the White Lotus that he played.
49:59.617 --> 50:00.679
[SPEAKER_01]: And how I hated that guy.
50:00.699 --> 50:03.523
[SPEAKER_01]: And my initial reaction was like, that dude that I hated.
50:04.063 --> 50:05.806
[SPEAKER_01]: And then I was like, Lane, that's not him.
50:06.947 --> 50:08.470
[SPEAKER_01]: That's, that's not so stupid.
50:08.630 --> 50:09.471
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so dumb.
50:09.451 --> 50:12.035
[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's a character he plays.
50:12.335 --> 50:15.760
[SPEAKER_01]: He's not actually that guy, buddy, and I was like, yeah, right.
50:15.840 --> 50:16.842
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm having this conversation.
50:16.862 --> 50:20.647
[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lane in a smith in my head, like a gaulman a smego going back and forth.
50:21.369 --> 50:22.030
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, you're right.
50:22.050 --> 50:22.410
[SPEAKER_01]: That's not it.
50:22.450 --> 50:22.991
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not him.
50:23.372 --> 50:25.855
[SPEAKER_01]: That doesn't mean that like he can't play a good guy.
50:25.875 --> 50:30.242
[SPEAKER_01]: And I, in that moment, I was taken back to some of Eagle Morton's' roles.
50:30.722 --> 50:33.727
[SPEAKER_01]: Like before Erragorn, he played a lot of bad boys, dude.
50:35.009 --> 50:37.973
[SPEAKER_01]: So bad,
50:38.594 --> 50:44.588
[SPEAKER_01]: So he plays Satan, so our King of Gondor, in his younger days, played the Dag on Devil.
50:44.929 --> 50:45.250
[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
50:45.771 --> 50:48.317
[SPEAKER_01]: So it ain't that bad, Leo.
50:49.660 --> 50:50.422
[SPEAKER_01]: It ain't that bad.
50:51.504 --> 50:52.587
[SPEAKER_01]: You're not the Devil, bro.
50:53.258 --> 50:57.302
[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm sure a lot of people would have the same reaction when Ovega Morton's in wait a minute.
50:57.322 --> 51:01.986
[SPEAKER_01]: I saw him in a movie where he played the devil.
51:02.086 --> 51:04.128
[SPEAKER_01]: Indian runner, he's a pretty broken character.
51:04.148 --> 51:06.631
[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't always make the best choices.
51:07.371 --> 51:10.674
[SPEAKER_01]: There's another perfect murder, which is what I've never seen on TBS.
51:11.495 --> 51:13.377
[SPEAKER_01]: Kirk Douglas and Guinnath Palcho.
51:13.397 --> 51:17.821
[SPEAKER_01]: And he's like kind of like a sleazy artist who's like trying to, he likes to do this.
51:17.841 --> 51:21.865
[SPEAKER_01]: He's having an affair with, he's not Kirk Douglas, Michael Douglas.
51:21.845 --> 51:23.849
[SPEAKER_01]: Gosh, I would've been a way different story.
51:24.250 --> 51:33.227
[SPEAKER_01]: Michael Douglas is why if he like who's going to palatro, he like seduces her and they're having enough fare and then they're like, well, what if we murder him for his money and all this stuff?
51:33.268 --> 51:35.131
[SPEAKER_01]: And I think I'm getting it right.
51:35.292 --> 51:37.857
[SPEAKER_01]: I watched that right after Lord of the Rings so I'm like, I want to see other vegan stuff.
51:37.877 --> 51:38.358
[SPEAKER_01]: What's he been in?
51:38.478 --> 51:39.600
[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't play a good guy.
51:39.580 --> 52:07.528
[SPEAKER_01]: Not I look at Eastern promises not a night so he's he's before he likes cop he likes Vigomorts in the actor loves complex roles and a lot of times the darker they are the more complex they are and you can play with kind of Two faces of January my gosh, there's so many roles that he plays where they're they're tormented and yeah That's as an actor that's a lot of fun Or so I would think anyway, you know, um, and So anyway, I'm thinking of Leo and that was my gut reaction on my catholic
52:07.610 --> 52:30.124
[SPEAKER_01]: guy a hate from the white love with white I could think too fat and then I'm just kind of like you know what dude maybe I don't know maybe maybe I like this maybe I don't hate this I'm never gonna love this and that's okay but maybe this will work somehow maybe it will so anyway
52:30.577 --> 52:30.998
[SPEAKER_01]: There it is.
52:31.058 --> 52:33.080
[SPEAKER_01]: We have a rumored young Aragorn Strider.
52:33.561 --> 52:52.944
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how they're going to put the the gaps in his teeth because his teeth are nice and tight He had braces for sure, and I'm going to miss seeing Vigo's beautiful gapy unique teeth and smile Always maybe wish I had a wider mouth Seriously, I used to be like, why's my mouth so skinny teeth are all crammed in there?
52:53.925 --> 52:55.707
[SPEAKER_04]: Well, like Vigo
52:55.687 --> 53:02.505
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm talking way too much as help me out, please see I just I'd have felt a toe touch I'm not even joking.
53:03.448 --> 53:07.659
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that was my own foot Regardless, I bet it was probably I don't know.
53:07.980 --> 53:08.802
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, it's probably him
53:11.566 --> 53:13.209
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's a little hump for Gallum Update.
53:13.289 --> 53:14.531
[SPEAKER_01]: Pretty cool, pretty exciting.
53:14.952 --> 53:16.916
[SPEAKER_01]: We have a, yeah, a young era going.
53:16.936 --> 53:17.437
[SPEAKER_01]: Pretty amazing.
53:18.479 --> 53:22.266
[SPEAKER_01]: In another coat, let me try that one again.
53:22.366 --> 53:32.063
[SPEAKER_01]: In other corners of Middle Earth, go support all of our friends that you've heard about before that we've talked about, you know, in all of our episodes, especially coming into the Silmarillion.
53:33.185 --> 53:34.047
[SPEAKER_01]: Huge one is,
53:34.027 --> 53:38.714
[SPEAKER_01]: Travis Siggler and weird leather and me, they're they're moving to a castle in Portland.
53:38.774 --> 53:44.802
[SPEAKER_01]: They've got a spot funder, got funder, it's not go fund me, but it's kind of like that.
53:44.822 --> 53:56.599
[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's a better setup, a more updated kind of way to crowd source and crowd fund, crowd fund, not crowd, crowd fund, not crowd fund, not crowd fund, not crowd source, I honestly don't know the difference.
53:56.619 --> 53:57.701
[SPEAKER_01]: I know one has to do with money.
53:57.721 --> 53:58.883
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what the source is.
54:00.886 --> 54:01.907
[SPEAKER_01]: Something from the Matrix.
54:02.444 --> 54:05.988
[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I'm going to put that link in the description.
54:06.048 --> 54:08.430
[SPEAKER_01]: If not, you'll see it on social media will share it again.
54:08.490 --> 54:10.633
[SPEAKER_01]: But they're about halfway to their goal, which is great.
54:10.713 --> 54:19.783
[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot that entails having a business like that, that Travis and his business partners have with the meat haul.
54:19.843 --> 54:22.265
[SPEAKER_01]: There's all kinds of stuff that goes into it.
54:22.285 --> 54:24.488
[SPEAKER_01]: And then moving and kind of transporting everything.
54:24.528 --> 54:26.730
[SPEAKER_01]: And updating the new space to look.
54:27.284 --> 54:32.292
[SPEAKER_01]: to carry the same aesthetic as the weird hall and even doing new things with it.
54:32.332 --> 54:46.313
[SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah, if you're able to support them, he's a fantastic human being and that whole group that he's cultivated and spearheaded and keeps alive is worth every penny.
54:46.493 --> 54:50.639
[SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah, with that, guys, I cannot believe it.
54:50.880 --> 54:52.482
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I did have a poll.
54:52.462 --> 55:16.538
[SPEAKER_01]: You know what, I'm gonna read the poll, where we do the Tolkien story Because the Bywater Post I forgot to pick up and I kind of want to record this in one take without any big gaps So I was terrible, but like I didn't get my mail today either So it's kind of like that.
55:16.579 --> 55:20.865
[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of like I just didn't go to the post office and open the PO box and get the mail out
55:20.845 --> 55:27.733
[SPEAKER_01]: I will make up for it next time I record a solo episode, I'll read to Tolkien letters.
55:27.913 --> 55:34.661
[SPEAKER_01]: I promise that, but I'll read our poll for the by-water post this episode because it's pretty cool.
55:34.981 --> 55:36.503
[SPEAKER_01]: And I want to shout out everyone's names.
55:36.864 --> 55:44.032
[SPEAKER_01]: I think I can do it this time without stumbling over my own tongue or whatever, I can't reach my book.
55:44.052 --> 55:50.059
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sort of like sandwiched into my chair here, can you say?
55:51.288 --> 55:52.509
[SPEAKER_01]: We're into the chapter, folks.
55:54.631 --> 55:54.931
[SPEAKER_00]: Ha ha ha.
55:56.233 --> 55:59.716
[SPEAKER_01]: Wow, it almost exactly an hour in, and there was some talking before that.
55:59.796 --> 56:00.777
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's not even an hour.
56:01.618 --> 56:04.460
[SPEAKER_01]: And we're into, see, that's the, I guess that's the problem, eh?
56:05.401 --> 56:08.364
[SPEAKER_01]: Just you put me in as together and you double the conversation.
56:08.504 --> 56:12.007
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's pretty obvious thing to say, but you know what I'm saying?
56:12.287 --> 56:14.449
[SPEAKER_01]: We just, we have two good of a time, I think.
56:14.850 --> 56:17.492
[SPEAKER_01]: Although this has been enjoyable, I feel his presence again.
56:18.773 --> 56:20.535
[SPEAKER_01]: Yep, pretty sure.
56:23.688 --> 56:24.129
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
56:24.149 --> 56:25.031
[SPEAKER_01]: He's got a smell to.
56:25.051 --> 56:27.377
[SPEAKER_01]: He's got a scent as has a very specific scent.
56:27.397 --> 56:28.580
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a beautiful smell.
56:28.601 --> 56:28.921
[SPEAKER_01]: I said it.
56:29.222 --> 56:30.345
[SPEAKER_01]: That sounded bad initially.
56:30.726 --> 56:34.616
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a his what do they call it?
56:35.057 --> 56:37.022
[SPEAKER_01]: You're, um, gosh, what is the word?
56:39.820 --> 56:41.202
[SPEAKER_01]: his mask.
56:41.222 --> 56:41.582
[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
56:42.183 --> 56:45.248
[SPEAKER_01]: He's had another, had to have another sip of red bull to get the mask on.
56:45.528 --> 56:47.611
[SPEAKER_01]: His mask is, it's electric.
56:47.731 --> 56:48.332
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what to say.
56:49.173 --> 56:50.174
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just absolutely electric.
56:50.194 --> 56:52.297
[SPEAKER_01]: I got to put on my silver real quick.
56:53.800 --> 57:01.030
[SPEAKER_01]: If you are on social media, you will have seen that I'm rocking it on me, brow, and that's actually what the, the polls about, so that's fitting.
57:01.711 --> 57:04.174
[SPEAKER_01]: But I got to get this head lamp on.
57:04.154 --> 57:08.820
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I used to think, Sarah, I've been thinking this because I've been reading it to the girls before bed.
57:08.840 --> 57:23.677
[SPEAKER_01]: I've been reading to Charlotte and Winnie, we're on Chamber of Secrets Harry Potter and I've been reading for a longer because I really want them to remember that and I enjoy it too and it's fun and I don't want to be like, for a few weeks there, I wasn't reading anything.
57:23.697 --> 57:24.819
[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, guys, let's just go to bed.
57:24.839 --> 57:25.960
[SPEAKER_01]: We're on time.
57:25.940 --> 57:28.883
[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm trying to make up for it, real talk.
57:28.963 --> 57:31.565
[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, it's amazing.
57:31.605 --> 57:34.227
[SPEAKER_01]: I've been like, oh my gosh, dude, I can't see.
57:34.288 --> 57:37.370
[SPEAKER_01]: I can't see the freaking word.
57:37.450 --> 57:41.114
[SPEAKER_01]: I know it's not that dark out, but I can't read the words.
57:41.134 --> 57:42.295
[SPEAKER_01]: And then they ain't fine print.
57:42.435 --> 57:43.095
[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying?
57:43.135 --> 57:47.059
[SPEAKER_01]: And I remember, I used to think my dad was making it up.
57:47.479 --> 57:51.783
[SPEAKER_01]: My dad used to say the same thing when he'd read to me before bed, he's like, buddy, I can't see.
57:52.164 --> 57:53.685
[SPEAKER_01]: We got to turn the light on, we got to go back.
57:53.705 --> 57:55.947
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, what?
57:55.927 --> 57:58.631
[SPEAKER_01]: it's like illuminated in here.
57:58.691 --> 58:02.357
[SPEAKER_01]: How do you not see, you know, he's like, I got old eyes.
58:02.517 --> 58:05.703
[SPEAKER_01]: And like, that's just something adult, say to kids, I think.
58:07.185 --> 58:08.086
[SPEAKER_01]: Kids, it's not.
58:08.347 --> 58:09.108
[SPEAKER_01]: It's so true.
58:10.210 --> 58:11.932
[SPEAKER_01]: And it must just happen.
58:11.972 --> 58:13.735
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you, you, you go pack.
58:13.775 --> 58:15.899
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't remember this five, six years ago.
58:16.239 --> 58:18.944
[SPEAKER_01]: You go past 35 and the eyes just start to dim dog.
58:19.945 --> 58:21.748
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like after,
58:23.146 --> 58:23.526
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't know.
58:23.546 --> 58:27.450
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like the lengthening of the shadows and in, uh, in Amon, you know, in Valinore.
58:27.470 --> 58:28.331
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like geez, dude.
58:28.371 --> 58:30.613
[SPEAKER_01]: The, uh, the eyes just start to go.
58:30.693 --> 58:32.355
[SPEAKER_01]: So, um, and it's so funny.
58:32.435 --> 58:34.096
[SPEAKER_01]: Sarah brought it up to me this week as well.
58:34.417 --> 58:36.078
[SPEAKER_01]: She's like, I just can't read the dark anymore.
58:36.258 --> 58:37.139
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, are you kidding me?
58:37.159 --> 58:38.661
[SPEAKER_01]: So I've had that same realization.
58:38.701 --> 58:39.782
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just hit me like lately.
58:40.202 --> 58:41.343
[SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like it's getting worse.
58:42.204 --> 58:45.207
[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, I got a headlamp on so I can see out here even even with the fire.
58:45.267 --> 58:47.829
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's kind of backlit from the fire.
58:47.849 --> 58:48.890
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's stupid.
58:48.910 --> 58:52.714
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like what the fire is going to help me read my book in my
58:52.694 --> 58:54.978
[SPEAKER_00]: It's on the other side of the book, but it'll help me.
58:55.038 --> 59:06.759
[SPEAKER_01]: I promise it is windy out here and so this is going to be interesting in the wind of course Just picked up which is fantastic because I've got my book and I've got a note page here I didn't want to and I just ripped my page.
59:06.779 --> 59:07.180
[SPEAKER_01]: That's cool.
59:07.660 --> 59:09.724
[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks a lot sticky note
59:09.974 --> 59:11.376
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not the notes, but it's my fault.
59:11.476 --> 59:12.498
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not the sticky notes fault.
59:12.718 --> 59:13.960
[SPEAKER_01]: Don't blame the sticky note lane.
59:14.541 --> 59:15.182
[SPEAKER_01]: It's your own fault.
59:16.945 --> 59:23.474
[SPEAKER_01]: I've got the book, of course, but I knew that if I didn't take notes, I would get sucked in and I'd get lost.
59:24.075 --> 59:26.219
[SPEAKER_01]: So I went through and I even kind of marked on my notes.
59:26.259 --> 59:27.961
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna do, I got a mark down.
59:28.061 --> 59:35.232
[SPEAKER_01]: Paragraphs, I got a, you know, take note of what's where and where's what and all this stuff because the uppers are counting on me.
59:35.713 --> 59:36.454
[SPEAKER_01]: As is counting on me.
59:37.295 --> 59:42.902
[SPEAKER_01]: And I can't let anyone down or if I do, I have to have a really good reason for letting them down.
59:43.984 --> 59:46.727
[SPEAKER_01]: And sometimes those things go hand in hand.
59:47.308 --> 59:51.693
[SPEAKER_01]: So chapter 7 of the Silver Hills and the unrest of the Noldore.
59:51.713 --> 59:56.940
[SPEAKER_01]: Now if you would have asked me even six months ago, what that meant, I'd have been like no idea.
59:56.920 --> 01:00:00.985
[SPEAKER_01]: And for real, going into this chapter, I want to remind everyone, I have not read the film, really.
01:00:01.506 --> 01:00:02.667
[SPEAKER_01]: This is not a reread for me.
01:00:03.208 --> 01:00:14.423
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even necessarily know other than like the great tales, and even those are kind of foggy, although there's some stuff that comes up here where I'm like, okay, that makes sense for Baron and Lothian, I get it, especially specifically Baron, with the film rails.
01:00:15.224 --> 01:00:20.751
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even know like where this is going, like I don't know what happens with fan or in thin golfing.
01:00:21.389 --> 01:00:26.095
[SPEAKER_01]: I sense there's some tragic, I don't know, someone's gonna come to an end.
01:00:26.335 --> 01:00:29.159
[SPEAKER_01]: I know that, but I don't know how it's gonna go down.
01:00:29.199 --> 01:00:30.661
[SPEAKER_01]: So this is all kind of like new for me.
01:00:31.282 --> 01:00:33.484
[SPEAKER_01]: So with that being said, I don't have a context forward.
01:00:34.225 --> 01:00:38.170
[SPEAKER_01]: I've got a context backward, but I don't know where we're going necessarily.
01:00:38.291 --> 01:00:43.918
[SPEAKER_01]: So keep that in mind as I'm going through this.
01:00:43.998 --> 01:00:47.262
[SPEAKER_01]: And if I say something where you're like, Lane, next chapter,
01:00:48.862 --> 01:00:50.265
[SPEAKER_01]: two chapters from my brother.
01:00:50.846 --> 01:00:52.929
[SPEAKER_01]: What is, what's your problem?
01:00:52.949 --> 01:00:53.390
[SPEAKER_01]: Just remember.
01:00:54.252 --> 01:00:54.993
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a new baby.
01:00:55.774 --> 01:00:56.676
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a new ba.
01:00:57.357 --> 01:01:00.022
[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, we've got of the simile rails.
01:01:01.144 --> 01:01:01.585
[UNKNOWN]: Man, dude.
01:01:03.729 --> 01:01:04.510
[SPEAKER_01]: Man, the silver rails.
01:01:04.530 --> 01:01:05.672
[SPEAKER_02]: I just, I think about them.
01:01:07.441 --> 01:01:19.948
[SPEAKER_02]: Get in silly with a fair, ah, ah, no, fair, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
01:01:20.485 --> 01:01:24.893
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, before we get into chapter seven, gosh, man, I'm trying to hold it together here.
01:01:24.913 --> 01:01:27.477
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, just, do you get to the chapter?
01:01:27.517 --> 01:01:32.546
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, my Lord, there's so much here, calm down, calm down, calm down.
01:01:32.986 --> 01:01:34.729
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I did do all this without any AI.
01:01:34.769 --> 01:01:41.681
[SPEAKER_01]: I know people are going to get to the end of this chapter and think, Lane just AI, myself, or he asked chat, GPT for cliff notes.
01:01:41.761 --> 01:01:42.763
[SPEAKER_01]: I did not.
01:01:42.743 --> 01:01:43.384
[SPEAKER_01]: How dare you?
01:01:43.424 --> 01:01:44.966
[SPEAKER_01]: I listen to the chapter four times.
01:01:45.566 --> 01:01:47.108
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe even five throughout this week.
01:01:47.949 --> 01:01:50.332
[SPEAKER_01]: And then I went back and I read it to see it in print.
01:01:51.373 --> 01:01:52.874
[SPEAKER_01]: And then yeah, I wrote some notes.
01:01:52.895 --> 01:01:55.257
[SPEAKER_01]: So I got receipts dog.
01:01:56.038 --> 01:02:00.263
[SPEAKER_01]: The reflection on chapter six, I loved cash guys isn't as just so good what he does.
01:02:00.904 --> 01:02:01.684
[SPEAKER_01]: That's another reason.
01:02:01.725 --> 01:02:02.886
[SPEAKER_01]: So freaking terrifying.
01:02:03.066 --> 01:02:04.227
[SPEAKER_01]: I can pick out details.
01:02:04.348 --> 01:02:05.489
[SPEAKER_01]: I can be along for the ride.
01:02:05.909 --> 01:02:07.771
[SPEAKER_01]: But he just steer such a good ship.
01:02:08.512 --> 01:02:11.856
[SPEAKER_01]: He's like that captain and jaws.
01:02:14.485 --> 01:02:15.469
[SPEAKER_01]: What's his face?
01:02:16.372 --> 01:02:17.577
[SPEAKER_01]: The marine biologist.
01:02:17.597 --> 01:02:18.460
[SPEAKER_01]: Can't remember his name.
01:02:18.500 --> 01:02:20.628
[SPEAKER_01]: Richard Dreyfus.
01:02:21.531 --> 01:02:24.141
[SPEAKER_01]: That's not his character's name, but that you know who I'm talking about.
01:02:25.437 --> 01:02:31.143
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm there and I can tell you, you know, what a shark's nose has made out of, but I can't ride the waves.
01:02:31.424 --> 01:02:32.265
[SPEAKER_01]: I can't navigate.
01:02:32.305 --> 01:02:33.106
[SPEAKER_01]: I can't get us there.
01:02:33.926 --> 01:02:34.767
[SPEAKER_01]: I need my captain.
01:02:36.669 --> 01:02:38.051
[SPEAKER_01]: Captain A-hab, I think, is name is.
01:02:38.131 --> 01:02:43.677
[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, huge shout out to Ez for, again, laying out chapter six in such a beautiful way.
01:02:44.078 --> 01:02:44.999
[SPEAKER_01]: I loved listening to it.
01:02:45.619 --> 01:02:47.281
[SPEAKER_01]: It made so much sense.
01:02:47.562 --> 01:02:52.908
[SPEAKER_01]: He's able to summarize things without neglecting things and he's just so dang good at it.
01:02:52.928 --> 01:02:54.229
[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm going to take a step.
01:02:54.209 --> 01:02:57.194
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but I do want to reflect on chapter 6 real quick.
01:02:57.675 --> 01:03:06.409
[SPEAKER_01]: My biggest takeaway was just the, uh, sort of the similarities or parallels between melcore and fanor.
01:03:07.631 --> 01:03:13.180
[SPEAKER_01]: And I said to as I'm like, dude, fanor is pretty much the melcore of the elder.
01:03:14.560 --> 01:03:17.428
[SPEAKER_01]: Right, and I don't know if that's that's probably not a hot take.
01:03:17.468 --> 01:03:20.056
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure people are like that comparison has been made a million times.
01:03:20.377 --> 01:03:29.683
[SPEAKER_01]: It just hit me I was like they're they're kind of almost cut from the same cloth is what it feels like they have similar personalities similar
01:03:29.663 --> 01:03:34.333
[SPEAKER_01]: weaknesses and their weaknesses are actually strength, just like Michael Scott, which is kind of wild.
01:03:35.335 --> 01:03:38.762
[SPEAKER_01]: So, um, they're ultra powerful, right?
01:03:39.363 --> 01:03:44.434
[SPEAKER_01]: They're ultra prideful, uh, they're spiteful, and they're tumultuous.
01:03:45.817 --> 01:03:46.879
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and
01:03:48.091 --> 01:03:51.516
[SPEAKER_01]: The interesting to have the rift is similar, right?
01:03:51.897 --> 01:03:59.249
[SPEAKER_01]: The rift of each feels so similar because it's like between them and their siblings.
01:03:59.910 --> 01:04:03.395
[SPEAKER_01]: Like the rift between fan or is between him and his brothers.
01:04:04.517 --> 01:04:08.884
[SPEAKER_01]: And then the rift between melcords between him and his brothers and sisters.
01:04:11.243 --> 01:04:20.075
[SPEAKER_01]: And Daddy, I would say that's probably the main difference, obviously, is that melcore kind of disrespect's daddy pretty bad.
01:04:20.837 --> 01:04:23.040
[SPEAKER_01]: And fan-nore has Daddy's love no matter what.
01:04:23.080 --> 01:04:24.542
[SPEAKER_01]: I find that kind of shocking this chapter.
01:04:25.243 --> 01:04:41.065
[SPEAKER_01]: Not to jump too far ahead, circle back around, but, you know, like Finnway goes to the north with, in their new home with fan-nore.
01:04:41.045 --> 01:04:41.466
[SPEAKER_01]: really.
01:04:42.850 --> 01:04:43.171
[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever.
01:04:43.351 --> 01:04:46.560
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, no wonder there was all kinds of drama.
01:04:46.580 --> 01:04:49.126
[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, I digress again.
01:04:49.206 --> 01:04:50.530
[SPEAKER_01]: But I just thought that was really interesting.
01:04:50.570 --> 01:04:52.455
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, man, they're not that dissimilar.
01:04:53.498 --> 01:04:57.622
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, Fanor is kind of like the melcore of the Eldar.
01:04:57.782 --> 01:05:01.586
[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, so anyway, it opens.
01:05:01.606 --> 01:05:03.788
[SPEAKER_01]: This chapter opens pretty much with the Silmerals.
01:05:05.109 --> 01:05:12.957
[SPEAKER_01]: It kind of talks about all the things that the elves are making and Fanor being come to his full might.
01:05:13.618 --> 01:05:15.099
[SPEAKER_01]: He's filled with new thoughts.
01:05:15.119 --> 01:05:23.067
[SPEAKER_01]: Because remember, we learned last chapter that he had learned the craft
01:05:23.047 --> 01:05:33.886
[SPEAKER_01]: father-in-law, and his father-in-law had been like, he'd learned it from our way, right, Matan, and kind of taught him everything.
01:05:33.906 --> 01:05:42.241
[SPEAKER_01]: So his father-in-law raised him up, gave him all these, or really kind of sharpened, probably talents he already had and turned them into skills.
01:05:43.644 --> 01:05:45.527
[SPEAKER_01]: And
01:05:46.570 --> 01:05:47.471
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this was interesting.
01:05:47.511 --> 01:05:55.302
[SPEAKER_01]: I thought like he was either filled with a new thought, or it may be that some shadow of four knowledge came to him of the doom that drew near.
01:05:55.802 --> 01:05:59.988
[SPEAKER_01]: But he wanted to capture the height of Elvendom.
01:06:00.028 --> 01:06:03.753
[SPEAKER_01]: I think they kind of realized like this was a golden age.
01:06:03.773 --> 01:06:10.602
[SPEAKER_01]: This was a time that probably, you know, sometimes you don't know the good times when you're in them and sometimes you do.
01:06:11.664 --> 01:06:16.290
[SPEAKER_01]: And he kind of had this moment of clarity where
01:06:16.270 --> 01:06:18.013
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're in the new tide.
01:06:18.053 --> 01:06:22.118
[SPEAKER_01]: There's the swelling and swooning of of the L.D.R.
01:06:22.940 --> 01:06:26.385
[SPEAKER_01]: and he's he's maxed out.
01:06:26.445 --> 01:06:27.707
[SPEAKER_01]: He's got all of this talent.
01:06:27.727 --> 01:06:31.652
[SPEAKER_01]: He's got all of this ability and he wants to preserve the moment.
01:06:32.634 --> 01:06:34.937
[SPEAKER_01]: He wants to
01:06:36.436 --> 01:06:44.143
[SPEAKER_01]: capture the light of the trees, the glory of the blessed realm, so that it could never die, essentially.
01:06:45.084 --> 01:06:47.346
[SPEAKER_01]: And you look at that face value, you're like, that's beautiful.
01:06:47.566 --> 01:07:06.223
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's like monuments that we have, or I don't know, great works of fiction or even non-fiction or whatever, we're preserving things that are beautiful, not nothing quite like this because this is just
01:07:06.203 --> 01:07:29.281
[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, and I thought it was interesting, too, at just how it's like, we don't really know if it's, if it is like a moment of clarity, or if it's like this for, like a new thought, as what Tolkien said, whether he was filled with a new thought, or he had some kind of prophetic premonition of what was going to happen, and that this wasn't going to last forever.
01:07:30.362 --> 01:07:32.025
[SPEAKER_01]: But whatever it was,
01:07:32.005 --> 01:07:32.746
[SPEAKER_01]: he got to work.
01:07:33.387 --> 01:07:36.571
[SPEAKER_01]: And he crafted in secret, which I thought was really interesting too.
01:07:36.591 --> 01:07:37.893
[SPEAKER_01]: There's something poetic about that.
01:07:37.913 --> 01:07:40.597
[SPEAKER_01]: There's this is for something very Tolkienian about that.
01:07:41.197 --> 01:07:44.642
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it kind of makes you think of Killa Brimboer, right?
01:07:44.902 --> 01:07:47.947
[SPEAKER_01]: Who is a descendant of fanor?
01:07:48.688 --> 01:07:51.972
[SPEAKER_01]: And who is second only two fanor?
01:07:51.952 --> 01:08:00.319
[SPEAKER_01]: in these great smithing feats, but that was really interesting too, you know, that he did this in secret.
01:08:00.339 --> 01:08:07.325
[SPEAKER_01]: And I think about that a lot of like, I feel like a lot of creative people, they have to be kind of off on their own to create these great works.
01:08:07.406 --> 01:08:20.457
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, obviously collaboration can breed the most beautifully complex sort of,
01:08:21.584 --> 01:08:25.890
[SPEAKER_01]: things from lack of birds or create these beautiful things.
01:08:28.418 --> 01:08:56.890
[SPEAKER_01]: as well, but I almost feel like when inspiration strikes some of these mighty talents just have to kind of go off on their own, they locked themselves in a room and they write 13 songs for an album in a day, you know, CS Lewis goes and writes, writes, I can't remember which, which Narnia story he wrote in like a week or something, but he was in a white heat of of creativity, the muse found him and the muse has kind of, I think,
01:08:56.870 --> 01:09:00.378
[SPEAKER_01]: taken fan or here as well.
01:09:02.323 --> 01:09:07.033
[SPEAKER_01]: So, they were formed as three great jewels, all right?
01:09:07.053 --> 01:09:07.835
[SPEAKER_01]: Tom on the Silmerals.
01:09:08.376 --> 01:09:11.905
[SPEAKER_01]: Silmerals are three great jewels.
01:09:12.686 --> 01:09:15.132
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I had always,
01:09:15.770 --> 01:09:43.077
[SPEAKER_01]: it always kind of just like not really understood the big deal with the silverals and we're gonna talk about it a second here but Tolkien as he always does when something is a big deal he irrefutibly lays it out and explains almost always succinctly why it's a big deal and you go uh okay that's why he's Tolkien and I'm me that that
01:09:44.339 --> 01:09:44.981
[SPEAKER_01]: Say no more.
01:09:45.542 --> 01:09:45.983
[SPEAKER_01]: Say no more.
01:09:46.023 --> 01:09:53.724
[SPEAKER_01]: He does the same thing in this chapter, and it's just a beautiful, it just clicked.
01:09:54.025 --> 01:09:54.907
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, okay, I get it.
01:09:56.211 --> 01:09:56.571
[SPEAKER_01]: I get it.
01:09:56.772 --> 01:09:58.015
[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously them being three.
01:09:58.075 --> 01:09:59.800
[SPEAKER_01]: I thought of the three kindred of elves.
01:09:59.780 --> 01:10:00.301
[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
01:10:00.782 --> 01:10:04.508
[SPEAKER_01]: We've got the Vañar, the Noldore, and the Teleri, and I'm like that's interesting.
01:10:04.588 --> 01:10:07.073
[SPEAKER_01]: Three is also beginning middle and end.
01:10:07.233 --> 01:10:08.696
[SPEAKER_01]: First act, second act, third act.
01:10:09.858 --> 01:10:11.801
[SPEAKER_01]: You think about middle or third, even with the ages.
01:10:11.881 --> 01:10:15.848
[SPEAKER_01]: There's three main ages before evil is defeated.
01:10:16.722 --> 01:10:17.623
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the power of three.
01:10:17.804 --> 01:10:18.605
[SPEAKER_01]: I see it everywhere.
01:10:18.625 --> 01:10:23.793
[SPEAKER_01]: I can't help it, you know, a chord of three strands is not easily broken.
01:10:23.853 --> 01:10:27.940
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just, it's a, it's a, it's a perfect number.
01:10:28.781 --> 01:10:31.926
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, yeah, it's, it's, it's absolutely perfect.
01:10:31.966 --> 01:10:32.327
[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
01:10:32.367 --> 01:10:32.948
[SPEAKER_01]: The silverals.
01:10:32.988 --> 01:10:34.410
[SPEAKER_01]: There's, there's three of them.
01:10:34.390 --> 01:10:35.552
[SPEAKER_01]: As well, that makes sense.
01:10:35.572 --> 01:10:37.675
[SPEAKER_01]: So no explanation for why there is three.
01:10:37.775 --> 01:10:40.258
[SPEAKER_01]: You almost kind of think like, well, it's the light of the trees.
01:10:40.338 --> 01:10:50.372
[SPEAKER_01]: Why isn't it just two, you know, we don't know exactly necessarily explicitly told to us why there are three silverals, but three, there are.
01:10:50.412 --> 01:10:52.776
[SPEAKER_01]: This was incredible, right?
01:10:52.796 --> 01:10:55.520
[SPEAKER_01]: Because it talks about how he sort of, gosh, what did it say?
01:10:55.580 --> 01:10:57.242
[SPEAKER_01]: He like, woe the light.
01:10:58.758 --> 01:11:02.665
[SPEAKER_01]: of the trees into them.
01:11:04.028 --> 01:11:05.250
[SPEAKER_01]: Let me just read some this real quick.
01:11:07.835 --> 01:11:08.777
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, here's nothing to do.
01:11:08.797 --> 01:11:11.121
[SPEAKER_01]: This is, sorry, I'm just reading this as pop into my mind.
01:11:11.622 --> 01:11:17.914
[SPEAKER_01]: It's so interesting that we don't really even know like necessarily
01:11:19.683 --> 01:11:46.804
[SPEAKER_01]: What I'm just gonna read it, but not until the end when fan or shall return who perished air the sun was made and sits now on the halls of a waiting and comes no more among his kin Not until the sun passes and the moon falls shall it be known of what substance they were made so some kind of like jewel crystal Whatever, but we don't know and we're not gonna know that that's another crazy thing too is we don't even know what they're made out of
01:11:46.784 --> 01:11:50.751
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and that's really, really cool, but the most important thing to me with the summerals.
01:11:51.352 --> 01:11:53.956
[SPEAKER_01]: All right, because I could again, I'm going to get lost in the weeds here, and I don't want to do it.
01:11:54.857 --> 01:11:58.504
[SPEAKER_01]: Is that their, it's not necessarily what they're made out of.
01:11:58.544 --> 01:12:02.210
[SPEAKER_01]: Even though we don't know what that is, and it's like this great mystery, and it'll be revealed someday to us.
01:12:02.250 --> 01:12:02.590
[SPEAKER_01]: We'll know.
01:12:03.051 --> 01:12:03.612
[SPEAKER_01]: We'll know.
01:12:03.592 --> 01:12:31.759
[SPEAKER_01]: Kind of is an amazing thing about talking to I'm saying about this the other day like how he can write this stuff and I have to remind myself It's not historical like he just has such a mastery of like writing Mythology that makes you understand why mythology is so powerful and why it's been so powerful for since the beginning of time I'm like yeah, I thought I was looking at the stars the other day I'm like
01:12:31.739 --> 01:12:41.107
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, those are put there by the vallar, you know, yeah, that's that's Varda up there You know, planting those stars in the sky and I'm like no dude.
01:12:41.247 --> 01:12:51.135
[SPEAKER_01]: What but anyway It really I like I I'm like, yeah, someday we're gonna know we're gonna know fanor's gonna come back and tell us what the Silmerals remain out of no, maybe though.
01:12:51.636 --> 01:12:52.597
[SPEAKER_01]: I who knows, man.
01:12:52.617 --> 01:13:01.324
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's the the the magic of it all But anyway, we don't know what they're made out of But the cool thing is that's not even really the thing
01:13:02.587 --> 01:13:06.150
[SPEAKER_01]: That's not even the most impressive part of the cilmerals, is what they're made out of.
01:13:06.751 --> 01:13:09.493
[SPEAKER_01]: It's what they contain, right?
01:13:09.834 --> 01:13:16.900
[SPEAKER_01]: They have the light of the trees, woven into them.
01:13:21.264 --> 01:13:22.105
[SPEAKER_01]: Let me just read some of this.
01:13:22.205 --> 01:13:30.433
[SPEAKER_01]: The crystal was the cilmerals, but this is the part right here that just blows me away, comparing the crystal or the jewel part of the cilmerals to our bodies.
01:13:31.713 --> 01:13:34.197
[SPEAKER_01]: and the light within to our souls.
01:13:34.597 --> 01:13:35.959
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what made it make sense to me.
01:13:36.400 --> 01:13:38.443
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, okay, got it.
01:13:38.823 --> 01:13:46.694
[SPEAKER_01]: Now I understand why this, I've never looked at a diamond and been like, oh my gosh, but it's what's inside that I connect with so much.
01:13:46.714 --> 01:13:53.504
[SPEAKER_01]: I've never looked at any kind of stone or jewelry or anything and thought that this is different.
01:13:53.564 --> 01:13:56.228
[SPEAKER_01]: He kind of not humanizes it.
01:13:56.248 --> 01:13:58.952
[SPEAKER_01]: It goes beyond that, like he spiritualizes.
01:13:58.932 --> 01:14:07.982
[SPEAKER_01]: these items, and you can see why it's such a mastery in such a feat.
01:14:09.443 --> 01:14:23.218
[SPEAKER_01]: The inner fire of the Silmeril's fan or maid of the blended light of the trees of Valenor, which lives in them, so Lorelyn and Tuparion, which lives in them, though the trees have long withered, like a little foreshadowing there.
01:14:23.198 --> 01:14:36.364
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but yeah, yet the crystal was the silverals, but as is the body of the children of a Louis Vuitton, the house of its inner fire that is within it and yet in all parts of it and is its life.
01:14:38.774 --> 01:14:41.519
[SPEAKER_01]: like what dude?
01:14:41.920 --> 01:14:42.160
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
01:14:43.122 --> 01:14:43.944
[SPEAKER_01]: So they're a big deal.
01:14:44.444 --> 01:14:45.647
[SPEAKER_01]: And they're unique in middle earth.
01:14:46.588 --> 01:14:53.982
[SPEAKER_01]: And there's something to there's something that truly preserve this
01:14:53.962 --> 01:14:58.747
[SPEAKER_01]: height, the noon tide that that as read about last chapter, right?
01:14:59.308 --> 01:15:00.790
[SPEAKER_01]: The height of the light.
01:15:02.592 --> 01:15:15.987
[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's it's definitely something to marvel at, something that we're in right now and and again, like he has this this sort of understanding that this is the time that they're in.
01:15:15.967 --> 01:15:19.296
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, everyone is blown away by these.
01:15:19.576 --> 01:15:22.785
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, even the Valar, they're kind of like holy crap.
01:15:22.805 --> 01:15:24.589
[SPEAKER_01]: This is, this is amazing.
01:15:24.650 --> 01:15:29.402
[SPEAKER_01]: Varta even says like, hey, no mortal hands, no flesh of mortals.
01:15:30.766 --> 01:15:35.974
[SPEAKER_01]: or unclean hands, but no, definitely anything evil will be able to touch them.
01:15:36.955 --> 01:15:38.838
[SPEAKER_01]: They'll be scorched and with it again.
01:15:38.878 --> 01:15:42.463
[SPEAKER_01]: This is the part that, you know, you flash ahead to barren and you're like, oh, okay, I get it.
01:15:42.603 --> 01:15:43.485
[SPEAKER_01]: It's right here.
01:15:43.525 --> 01:15:49.213
[SPEAKER_01]: This sort of like protection that she puts on it or this power, she gives that.
01:15:49.193 --> 01:15:56.263
[SPEAKER_01]: And then Mondos says that the fates of Arda earth sea and air lay locked within them.
01:15:56.323 --> 01:15:56.764
[SPEAKER_01]: So there you go.
01:15:56.804 --> 01:15:57.605
[SPEAKER_01]: Earth sea and air.
01:15:57.645 --> 01:15:59.648
[SPEAKER_01]: There's three likeening to that.
01:15:59.728 --> 01:16:00.929
[SPEAKER_01]: Lay locked with him.
01:16:01.290 --> 01:16:06.097
[SPEAKER_01]: The heart of fan or was fast bound to these things that he himself had made.
01:16:06.157 --> 01:16:06.738
[SPEAKER_01]: He loves them.
01:16:07.438 --> 01:16:11.644
[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to see in a little bit that he at first wears them around proudly.
01:16:11.684 --> 01:16:15.690
[SPEAKER_01]: But then loves them so much that he keeps them locked up.
01:16:16.835 --> 01:16:46.723
[SPEAKER_01]: like straight dwarf mode right like straight drag and sickness kind of deal where he's like yeah you know what they're so special that not even everyone can see him I don't even care if you're an elf bro it's just from my kin and for me and if you get to see him count yourself lucky buddy because not everyone does and that's just sort of a wild thing to think that he literally created them with this intention of preserving the height of of of this of this period of time that
01:16:49.319 --> 01:16:57.496
[SPEAKER_01]: this harmony and this great inspiration and beauty and purity so that so that it could be witness, right?
01:16:57.556 --> 01:17:04.932
[SPEAKER_03]: And he ends up just being like nah, it's for me.
01:17:06.160 --> 01:17:17.729
[SPEAKER_01]: So this is something that comes up here, the vialar love it, melcore straights up, straights up, melcore straight up lusts for these.
01:17:19.333 --> 01:17:23.022
[SPEAKER_01]: And the very memory of their radiance was a annoying fire.
01:17:23.002 --> 01:17:23.763
[SPEAKER_01]: in his heart.
01:17:23.803 --> 01:17:26.127
[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of wondered, I don't think it says specifically here.
01:17:26.207 --> 01:17:35.681
[SPEAKER_01]: If I missed it, just forgive me, but I kind of wonder if it made him remind to him of the flame imperishable, right?
01:17:36.002 --> 01:17:39.627
[SPEAKER_01]: Remembering way back to the beginnings of the similar alien.
01:17:40.855 --> 01:17:50.209
[SPEAKER_01]: and just like his desire to try and go understand that and capture that and like be master of that.
01:17:50.790 --> 01:18:03.690
[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder if the silverals kind of reminded him of that, you know, he, he lost
01:18:05.020 --> 01:18:18.821
[SPEAKER_01]: And this is kind of where it's planted that he wants to destroy not only fan or but he wants to end his friendship with the Valar and the elves he wants to isolate him he wants to bring him down because he made these beautiful things.
01:18:20.263 --> 01:18:24.750
[SPEAKER_01]: But he's not going to come out and just like do open warfare we last chapter as.
01:18:24.730 --> 01:18:37.502
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, talked about how he Melchlor was unchained, and he was set before the Valar, and he was forgiven.
01:18:38.343 --> 01:18:44.428
[SPEAKER_01]: And again, a sort of a parallel of what we see with Fengalfin and Fan or later this chapter.
01:18:44.869 --> 01:18:47.031
[SPEAKER_01]: Monway was like, yeah, you know what?
01:18:47.151 --> 01:18:52.476
[SPEAKER_01]: I can't even imagine why you would turn back to evil at this point.
01:18:52.456 --> 01:18:59.145
[SPEAKER_01]: you are contrite, you are your pure form, and you've learned your lesson.
01:18:59.385 --> 01:19:01.268
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I can't believe you did it this first time.
01:19:01.308 --> 01:19:03.150
[SPEAKER_01]: There's no way you're going to do it the second time.
01:19:03.451 --> 01:19:11.001
[SPEAKER_01]: And I think the explanation was that like, monway didn't even have the ability to think in terms of that evil.
01:19:11.121 --> 01:19:12.843
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, he doesn't, he doesn't have the capabilities.
01:19:13.765 --> 01:19:16.668
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not even something that he can imagine.
01:19:16.769 --> 01:19:17.890
[SPEAKER_01]: He can't even fathom it.
01:19:17.870 --> 01:19:27.707
[SPEAKER_01]: because he's so pure, and he's so close, and so akin to a rule of a tar of the same kind of mind and strand and goodness.
01:19:28.128 --> 01:19:29.931
[SPEAKER_01]: Ace, can you guys hear him?
01:19:29.951 --> 01:19:34.098
[SPEAKER_01]: I think you can, because I'm pretty sure I picked up such a watchdog.
01:19:34.299 --> 01:19:35.080
[SPEAKER_01]: He's barking at a cat.
01:19:35.300 --> 01:19:35.942
[SPEAKER_01]: Let him go, buddy.
01:19:37.464 --> 01:19:37.765
[SPEAKER_01]: Come here.
01:19:38.807 --> 01:19:39.047
[SPEAKER_01]: Come here.
01:19:39.708 --> 01:19:40.249
[SPEAKER_01]: You're okay.
01:19:42.372 --> 01:19:43.714
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, he's so alert.
01:19:43.754 --> 01:19:44.214
[SPEAKER_01]: It's crazy.
01:19:45.195 --> 01:19:45.395
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
01:19:45.616 --> 01:19:47.478
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, he would have served.
01:19:48.139 --> 01:19:50.261
[SPEAKER_01]: He would have served the blessed realm very well.
01:19:50.682 --> 01:19:52.744
[SPEAKER_01]: He would have been able to sniff out Melcourt's bullcrap.
01:19:53.164 --> 01:19:57.009
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, he doesn't go about this, what I was trying to get at.
01:19:57.049 --> 01:20:00.132
[SPEAKER_01]: He's not going out this boldly, right?
01:20:00.473 --> 01:20:01.654
[SPEAKER_01]: Or at least not in the open.
01:20:02.335 --> 01:20:04.137
[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, yeah, you know what I'm going to do.
01:20:04.177 --> 01:20:05.899
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to start to like just so dissension.
01:20:07.060 --> 01:20:08.882
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to lie to these elves.
01:20:09.722 --> 01:20:12.265
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to tell them half truths.
01:20:12.925 --> 01:20:20.212
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to use my words and my wit and my cunning to turn them against each other.
01:20:21.553 --> 01:20:26.017
[SPEAKER_01]: And he does a really, really, really good job.
01:20:26.117 --> 01:20:27.278
[SPEAKER_01]: But what does it say?
01:20:27.338 --> 01:20:30.441
[SPEAKER_01]: This is the way this is put as perfectly.
01:20:30.461 --> 01:20:32.103
[SPEAKER_01]: It's almost like it's a guarantee.
01:20:32.263 --> 01:20:37.067
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a guarantee that Melcore will find people
01:20:37.047 --> 01:20:43.417
[SPEAKER_01]: Ever Melcore found some ears that would heed him, and some tongues that would enlarge what they had heard.
01:20:44.378 --> 01:20:49.846
[SPEAKER_01]: And his lies pass from friend to friend as secrets of which the knowledge proves the teller wise.
01:20:50.768 --> 01:20:52.450
[SPEAKER_01]: Man, that's kind of wild, isn't it, too?
01:20:52.631 --> 01:20:58.560
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like repeating something that Melcore told you, makes you sound like a sage.
01:21:00.182 --> 01:21:02.025
[SPEAKER_01]: And just full of wisdom.
01:21:02.005 --> 01:21:24.149
[SPEAKER_01]: bitterly did the nodal or a tone for the folly of their open ears in the days that followed right so cash man as well as crazy things where it's like you got to protect yourself and guard yourself again some things right you really do like if they would have been a little more vigilant and would have been a little less open to hearing this could have gone very differently.
01:21:24.169 --> 01:21:26.612
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean at the end of this chapter we see how fanor kind of
01:21:27.908 --> 01:21:29.910
[SPEAKER_01]: It's falling into that same trap himself.
01:21:30.791 --> 01:21:33.915
[SPEAKER_01]: Melchor coming to him and trying to seduce him straight up one on one.
01:21:33.975 --> 01:21:37.438
[SPEAKER_01]: And then he goes, oh, I see what's going on here.
01:21:37.559 --> 01:21:43.645
[SPEAKER_01]: You spoke about the silverills a little too many times, or a little too directly, that's what you want.
01:21:43.906 --> 01:21:48.070
[SPEAKER_01]: I perceive you, the jail crow of Mondos.
01:21:48.731 --> 01:21:50.693
[SPEAKER_01]: What a line dude, what a line.
01:21:52.242 --> 01:22:02.056
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, yeah, so he walks among them at this point and, uh, conjures visions of their hearts of mighty realms.
01:22:02.297 --> 01:22:19.161
[SPEAKER_01]: He also kind of brings up this idea of, um, men and uses this against to drive a rift between, um, the L-d-r.
01:22:19.141 --> 01:22:31.459
[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, specifically the Noldore, sorry, and the Vala and pretty much saying like, Oh, they didn't tell you that men are coming to and you know, they know that, right?
01:22:31.519 --> 01:22:34.083
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, they know that men are going to come, but they haven't told you.
01:22:34.324 --> 01:22:35.185
[SPEAKER_01]: Ooh, that's interesting.
01:22:35.285 --> 01:22:38.189
[SPEAKER_01]: Huh, I wonder why why wouldn't they tell you that?
01:22:39.151 --> 01:22:40.052
[SPEAKER_01]: Do they not trust you?
01:22:41.753 --> 01:22:44.739
[SPEAKER_01]: do they not value you, do they not want what's best for you?
01:22:45.059 --> 01:22:48.125
[SPEAKER_01]: That's kind of, I thought, I've been chained up.
01:22:48.205 --> 01:22:49.528
[SPEAKER_01]: I thought they would have told you guys that.
01:22:53.255 --> 01:22:55.639
[SPEAKER_01]: No, you're sure you didn't just like not hear it or something.
01:22:55.659 --> 01:22:57.443
[SPEAKER_01]: You forgot, we've been here a while.
01:22:59.447 --> 01:23:01.971
[SPEAKER_01]: Wow, that's kind of, that's weird.
01:23:02.152 --> 01:23:02.833
[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder why?
01:23:04.147 --> 01:23:05.248
[SPEAKER_01]: wonder why they wouldn't have done that.
01:23:05.929 --> 01:23:15.461
[SPEAKER_01]: And so this kind of plays them and it's like, one of the things too that he uses here is he's like, what does he say?
01:23:15.561 --> 01:23:18.284
[SPEAKER_01]: I think he says that like men let me just find it read it.
01:23:19.065 --> 01:23:33.343
[SPEAKER_01]: But Mel, who we're spoke to them in secret of mortal men seeing how the silence of the Valar might be twisted to evil, literally he knew, yeah concerning men for engrossed with his own thought in the music he had paid small heat to the third theme of
01:23:33.323 --> 01:23:34.004
[SPEAKER_01]: They're coming.
01:23:34.344 --> 01:23:57.238
[SPEAKER_01]: But now the whisper went among the elves that Monway held them captive so that men might come and supplant them in the kingdoms of Middle-earth of the Valar saw that they might more easily sway the short-lived and weaker race defrauding the elves of the inheritance of a
01:23:57.218 --> 01:24:21.574
[SPEAKER_01]: This wasn't an invitation to come over here, and because we care about you and because you're special And this is gonna be you're gonna be protected from melcore and evil and all that Actually what melcore saying is you're being held here captive so that the men can inherit the greatness of Middle-earth Yep, yep, I mean it's just it's just again.
01:24:21.614 --> 01:24:25.740
[SPEAKER_01]: It's planting a lie with a little you need a spec
01:24:25.906 --> 01:24:26.527
[SPEAKER_01]: of truth.
01:24:27.988 --> 01:24:31.953
[SPEAKER_01]: And it can just twist into the nastiest of weeds, bro.
01:24:33.074 --> 01:24:33.675
[SPEAKER_01]: That just.
01:24:36.297 --> 01:24:38.320
[SPEAKER_01]: Chokes and kills.
01:24:39.401 --> 01:24:41.844
[SPEAKER_01]: So these are the thoughts that are playing into his mind.
01:24:42.364 --> 01:24:45.007
[SPEAKER_01]: He's playing into the minds of the Noldore.
01:24:47.149 --> 01:24:50.093
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's, it's, it's, it's pretty wild.
01:24:50.113 --> 01:24:52.335
[SPEAKER_01]: And pretty tragic to
01:24:53.783 --> 01:25:15.032
[SPEAKER_01]: So, this is when the, at this point, the piece of a valonore is poisoned, so, and, and the Noldore start kind of whispering against the valar, all right, not, not, not, not, I kind of see it almost like, instead of talking to the valar as they were prior, now they're talking to each other about the valar, right?
01:25:15.012 --> 01:25:31.300
[SPEAKER_01]: They're spread in rumors of all our walk Excuse me, it's like in traders, you know, or like when you're in the sometimes when your boss walks in, you were talking about your boss, and you're like, oh So What you were talking about
01:25:31.280 --> 01:25:33.464
[SPEAKER_01]: the game this weekend.
01:25:33.484 --> 01:25:33.804
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, right.
01:25:33.844 --> 01:25:35.487
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I liked it.
01:25:35.687 --> 01:25:37.590
[SPEAKER_01]: Like the good, they played, which game?
01:25:38.352 --> 01:25:38.732
[SPEAKER_01]: Any of them.
01:25:39.533 --> 01:25:41.477
[SPEAKER_01]: It's that kind of thing.
01:25:41.877 --> 01:25:45.643
[SPEAKER_01]: They're no longer communicating with the Valar or not as much as they were.
01:25:45.683 --> 01:25:46.725
[SPEAKER_01]: They're suspicious.
01:25:47.927 --> 01:25:50.091
[SPEAKER_01]: They suspect that they're being used.
01:25:50.752 --> 01:25:55.279
[SPEAKER_01]: And when you feel that way, you'll do really stupid.
01:25:55.259 --> 01:25:56.321
[SPEAKER_01]: stuff.
01:25:57.603 --> 01:25:58.004
[SPEAKER_01]: You will.
01:25:58.164 --> 01:26:05.135
[SPEAKER_01]: You'll start to act scared and you'll start to get defensive and you'll start to accuse, make false accusations essentially.
01:26:06.237 --> 01:26:14.010
[SPEAKER_01]: So, fear just burn the new flame of desire for freedom and wider realms in the eager heart of fanor.
01:26:13.990 --> 01:26:25.933
[SPEAKER_01]: so fan or someone who's just like, yeah, man, uh, I don't know if I, uh, I buy this either and, um, I don't want to be constrained to volunteer.
01:26:26.735 --> 01:26:33.147
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to be constrained to almond, you know, I want to, I want to see the rest of this great world.
01:26:33.127 --> 01:26:34.949
[SPEAKER_01]: and melcore laughs in his secrecy.
01:26:35.930 --> 01:26:42.256
[SPEAKER_01]: For to that mark his lies had been addressed hating fanor above all and lusting ever for the silmmorles.
01:26:42.677 --> 01:26:54.389
[SPEAKER_01]: But these he was not suffered to approach for though at great feasts fanor would wear them blazing on his brow at other times they were guarded close locked in the deep chambers of his torturing.
01:26:54.409 --> 01:26:55.610
[SPEAKER_01]: That's right, so this kind of talks about how.
01:26:56.511 --> 01:26:57.933
[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes he wear him on the neck, baby.
01:26:59.074 --> 01:27:00.596
[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes he'd keep him in the neck.
01:27:01.296 --> 01:27:02.998
[SPEAKER_01]: Wouldn't even seem.
01:27:02.978 --> 01:27:27.872
[SPEAKER_01]: And, and this is interesting too because what started as this great gesture, and almost kind of like, homage or, or, um, what's the, like, I'm going to say monument again, but like, a testament to the Valar becomes this thing that he starts to love greedily.
01:27:29.978 --> 01:27:33.732
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he starts to kind of be like, nah, this is this was I'm not earlier.
01:27:33.752 --> 01:27:38.892
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just for us just for me, just for my daddy, just for my seven sons.
01:27:40.188 --> 01:27:42.732
[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully he's let his wife see like what what's going on there.
01:27:42.752 --> 01:28:01.302
[SPEAKER_01]: That's kind of nuts he would think that he would but Nerdonel who was a huge nerd by the way But yeah, so anyway, that's there that that sort of greedy love is there very very what we assume and think of
01:28:01.282 --> 01:28:22.345
[SPEAKER_01]: Historically anyway, it's very dwarven, right, but here we got the the highest Elven Smith of all time, and he has greed and selfishness in his heart for his creations, which is kind of crazy So at this we get some some new lies
01:28:24.569 --> 01:28:43.759
[SPEAKER_01]: we get some new new lies and and these start to work against this already like these cracks that are between fanor and fin golfing right and fanor is the first born and only son of finway and his first wife
01:28:45.072 --> 01:28:47.234
[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was in this, gotta can't remember.
01:28:47.614 --> 01:28:50.097
[SPEAKER_01]: I should just go look it up, but it'll give you guys something to yell at.
01:28:51.538 --> 01:28:54.721
[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, no, I think that's actually right.
01:28:54.781 --> 01:28:56.662
[SPEAKER_01]: My gosh, these names are sticking!
01:28:59.405 --> 01:29:01.987
[SPEAKER_01]: But Fengalfin, and Fén Arfin.
01:29:03.388 --> 01:29:15.079
[SPEAKER_01]: So the second born and third born of Fén Wei were from his second marriage to his wife, Maryel.
01:29:15.059 --> 01:29:23.188
[SPEAKER_01]: So, this is kind of interesting because I was thinking about this later on about how Finn golfing's the man, right?
01:29:23.308 --> 01:29:27.993
[SPEAKER_01]: He's as his favorite, high elf.
01:29:28.013 --> 01:29:29.535
[SPEAKER_01]: And you can see why the dudes awesome.
01:29:30.936 --> 01:29:32.978
[SPEAKER_01]: I fell in love with him this chapter too, like just his.
01:29:35.421 --> 01:29:42.889
[SPEAKER_01]: His maybe not love for, but respect for his brother, even though he doesn't really deserve it, fan or no, fan or fan.
01:29:44.354 --> 01:29:48.963
[SPEAKER_01]: You really see this character come through where it's like, do this guy is wow, he's amazing.
01:29:50.185 --> 01:29:55.135
[SPEAKER_01]: He is unbelievable, he's a good dude, I would want to follow this guy.
01:29:56.357 --> 01:30:02.329
[SPEAKER_01]: But I was thinking about how he's technically the middle son, right, and kind of later on, you see him sort of try to
01:30:03.777 --> 01:30:30.325
[SPEAKER_01]: appeal to his father to try and help fanor he's trying to mend things and I always think of like the middle child as like being one who tries to mend things and bring everyone together and and keep the family keep the peace of the family I think a lot of middle-borns are like that for sure middle children they just have a knack for it probably because they're so used to you know bridging the gap between their older siblings and their younger siblings that's probably just like something that they've had to do so they're naturally good at it
01:30:30.305 --> 01:30:40.834
[SPEAKER_01]: birth order stuff is I'm like I'm a huge believer in it there's so many cases of it and you just see tendencies over and over again that repeat.
01:30:41.935 --> 01:31:00.312
[SPEAKER_01]: But I was also kind of thinking I'm like he's he's almost kind of like a firstborn of his own really I mean he's not the firstborn of his father but he's the firstborn of his mother because there are things that he does that I'm like that's a that's just a brave firstborn it's almost kind of like you've got a really
01:31:00.292 --> 01:31:07.381
[SPEAKER_01]: And prideful firstborn and a very humble firstborn, except the humble firstborn is actually your secondborn.
01:31:08.142 --> 01:31:10.485
[SPEAKER_01]: And maybe that's why it's so contentious.
01:31:11.687 --> 01:31:16.853
[SPEAKER_01]: I know that it's also just because like fan or doesn't like that his father also loves his brothers.
01:31:18.035 --> 01:31:22.901
[SPEAKER_01]: Even though he talks about how he loves fan or the most, but that's not enough for him.
01:31:23.382 --> 01:31:27.207
[SPEAKER_01]: Like he doesn't even want him to acknowledge his brothers, like do go to therapy bro.
01:31:27.287 --> 01:31:28.088
[SPEAKER_01]: Calm down.
01:31:28.338 --> 01:31:30.283
[SPEAKER_01]: Get some help for yourself, for real.
01:31:30.745 --> 01:31:37.143
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying that in a joking way, like get some help for yourself, fan, or it's not all about you, dude.
01:31:37.805 --> 01:31:40.492
[SPEAKER_01]: But he, it's what he's, what he's making.
01:31:41.134 --> 01:31:43.360
[SPEAKER_01]: So there's new lies at Melcore.
01:31:43.340 --> 01:31:59.442
[SPEAKER_01]: kind of sets and whispers here, and he comes to Fannor and Fengalphin and his sons and saying that they were plotting to usurp the leadership of Fenway and of the elder line of Fannor and to supplant them by the leave of the Valar.
01:31:59.422 --> 01:32:06.991
[SPEAKER_01]: for the Valar, we'll, we'll, we'll pleased that the Silmarils, William Tyrion, and we're not committed to their keeping.
01:32:08.472 --> 01:32:09.313
[SPEAKER_01]: Hmm, interesting, right?
01:32:10.094 --> 01:32:16.762
[SPEAKER_01]: So again, another lie, the fan or can hear and others can hear and be like, yeah, you know what, I can, I buy that.
01:32:17.903 --> 01:32:18.604
[SPEAKER_01]: That seems right.
01:32:19.745 --> 01:32:21.287
[SPEAKER_01]: The anor is kind of ticked off the Valar.
01:32:22.088 --> 01:32:23.910
[SPEAKER_01]: He's sort of,
01:32:23.890 --> 01:32:25.952
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, gotten this greedy love and it's hard.
01:32:25.972 --> 01:32:30.037
[SPEAKER_01]: And again, it's kind of like it's so interesting how Melchor is going, he's going to feel guilty about this.
01:32:30.137 --> 01:32:34.442
[SPEAKER_01]: Like this is going to cause guilt in his heart, which will cause him to react instead of respond.
01:32:35.443 --> 01:32:36.324
[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to do something stupid.
01:32:37.465 --> 01:32:43.592
[SPEAKER_01]: And just impitting his, him against his brothers and being like, you know, you don't have the same mom.
01:32:43.672 --> 01:32:45.874
[SPEAKER_01]: You're not from the same line, technically, really.
01:32:47.056 --> 01:32:52.682
[SPEAKER_01]: So he probably loves your younger brothers more
01:32:53.185 --> 01:33:01.035
[SPEAKER_01]: And actually beyond that, they're going to try and just take, take your, it might I even matter if he loves them or not, they don't give it crap.
01:33:01.095 --> 01:33:03.639
[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to take his, his throne.
01:33:05.281 --> 01:33:14.193
[SPEAKER_01]: So crazy, crazy, uh, Finn golfing and Finn, Finn, Finn, Arfin, uh, this is what we said to them, beware.
01:33:14.253 --> 01:33:19.159
[SPEAKER_01]: Small love has the proud sort of marial ever had for the children of indis.
01:33:20.624 --> 01:33:22.266
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so I flipped it around, my bad.
01:33:23.948 --> 01:33:29.514
[SPEAKER_01]: Fanor's mom is marial, and Fingolf and Finn Arphins mom is in Disapologies there.
01:33:29.674 --> 01:33:30.795
[SPEAKER_01]: You didn't have to yell me earlier.
01:33:30.815 --> 01:33:33.599
[SPEAKER_01]: I remembered or read it.
01:33:34.940 --> 01:33:38.624
[SPEAKER_01]: Now he has become great, and he has his father in his hand.
01:33:38.664 --> 01:33:43.209
[SPEAKER_01]: It will not be long before he drives you forth from tuna.
01:33:43.390 --> 01:33:45.552
[SPEAKER_01]: So, again, sort of the opposite fears.
01:33:45.532 --> 01:33:59.450
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a fan or he says your brothers are going to serve the throne and because they hate you and the Valar bless this, by the way, just so you know, because of your hoarding your silverals, so you're screwed that way.
01:34:00.391 --> 01:34:03.796
[SPEAKER_01]: And to Fengulfon and Fenarfin, he's saying like, dude, he doesn't get a crap about you.
01:34:03.876 --> 01:34:05.298
[SPEAKER_01]: As soon as he gets power, he's driving you out.
01:34:06.139 --> 01:34:10.965
[SPEAKER_01]: You guys are going to be like bastards, essentially, which is crazy.
01:34:12.447 --> 01:34:20.359
[SPEAKER_01]: So Mel Courses that these lies, they're smoldering, they're gaining some steam in that pride and anger.
01:34:20.440 --> 01:34:23.584
[SPEAKER_01]: We're awakening in the Noldore.
01:34:23.605 --> 01:34:25.187
[SPEAKER_01]: And so everything's going to plan for him, man.
01:34:25.808 --> 01:34:26.349
[SPEAKER_01]: He's pumped.
01:34:26.649 --> 01:34:30.195
[SPEAKER_01]: And this is where he starts saying, hey, guys, do you know about weapons?
01:34:31.196 --> 01:34:32.038
[SPEAKER_01]: And they're like weapons.
01:34:33.440 --> 01:34:35.383
[SPEAKER_01]: What do you talk?
01:34:36.612 --> 01:34:49.193
[SPEAKER_01]: Like tools, I'd like to hammer jewels and stuff, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, swords and axes and spears.
01:34:49.253 --> 01:34:50.535
[SPEAKER_01]: I, you don't know about these?
01:34:51.015 --> 01:34:52.778
[SPEAKER_03]: Did the Valar and I tell you about these, too?
01:34:53.520 --> 01:34:54.281
[SPEAKER_03]: The other Valar?
01:34:54.882 --> 01:34:56.665
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm your guy.
01:34:57.246 --> 01:35:01.793
[SPEAKER_03]: Melkor, make a happy and brother.
01:35:02.954 --> 01:35:19.574
[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, you know, he's essentially just saying like, I can show you how to make these, um, you're going to need these, you know, if all these things are happening that we're hearing about that's not just me saying, you guys are saying them too, you're going to need to protect yourself, man.
01:35:19.775 --> 01:35:20.976
[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to have to be ready guys.
01:35:21.116 --> 01:35:22.017
[SPEAKER_01]: It's fear mongering.
01:35:22.077 --> 01:35:26.062
[SPEAKER_01]: It's fear mongering at its highest, and it's just tragic to see it take root.
01:35:26.563 --> 01:35:28.285
[SPEAKER_01]: You can understand it because it happens in real life.
01:35:28.625 --> 01:35:29.907
[SPEAKER_01]: We all been there, bro.
01:35:29.887 --> 01:35:34.274
[SPEAKER_01]: hopefully not both sides, I mean some of us both sides, you know, whatever I don't know.
01:35:35.036 --> 01:35:35.416
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
01:35:35.817 --> 01:35:37.700
[SPEAKER_01]: There's there's hope for all of us, but, you know.
01:35:40.825 --> 01:35:41.346
[SPEAKER_01]: We've been there.
01:35:41.787 --> 01:35:42.488
[SPEAKER_01]: We know what it's like.
01:35:42.508 --> 01:35:43.770
[SPEAKER_01]: We've seen this kind of stuff happen.
01:35:44.972 --> 01:35:46.495
[SPEAKER_01]: Believing lies and then.
01:35:47.251 --> 01:35:48.373
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
01:35:48.633 --> 01:35:52.099
[SPEAKER_01]: So he starts to teach them how to make these and then shields as well.
01:35:52.980 --> 01:36:02.795
[SPEAKER_01]: So not only, you know, weapons to, to assault, but shields to protect, displaying the tokens and many houses and kids that vied one with another.
01:36:02.835 --> 01:36:07.943
[SPEAKER_01]: So they're not only just like divided literally, they're starting to be like, well, this is our schedule.
01:36:08.108 --> 01:36:17.303
[SPEAKER_01]: what's your sigil, okay, they're they're almost kind of tribalizing within their own group of people, which before was not there, right?
01:36:18.485 --> 01:36:19.266
[SPEAKER_01]: It was not there.
01:36:20.709 --> 01:36:31.867
[SPEAKER_01]: Each one of them, by the way, thinks that they're doing this on their own, like they think they're the only one, only ones, creating these weapons and with this knowledge.
01:36:32.768 --> 01:36:35.112
[SPEAKER_01]: And so they're doing it in
01:36:35.412 --> 01:36:36.734
[SPEAKER_01]: And they're like, we're gonna be ready.
01:36:36.895 --> 01:36:39.759
[SPEAKER_01]: They're not gonna be that house over there of the Noldore.
01:36:39.920 --> 01:36:41.803
[UNKNOWN]: They're not gonna be ready, but we are.
01:36:42.905 --> 01:36:47.493
[SPEAKER_01]: We got the secret knowledge of the sword, and the axe, and the spear.
01:36:48.915 --> 01:36:51.559
[SPEAKER_01]: So that makes it even crazier, because now they're secrecy of all.
01:36:51.580 --> 01:36:56.848
[SPEAKER_01]: They're just, they're not even, so the first step was to isolate them from the vowlar, right?
01:36:57.349 --> 01:36:59.513
[SPEAKER_01]: Now Melkor goes, I'm gonna isolate you from each other.
01:37:02.243 --> 01:37:03.104
[SPEAKER_01]: isolation, dude.
01:37:03.665 --> 01:37:05.749
[SPEAKER_01]: The opposite of holding true to each other.
01:37:07.111 --> 01:37:08.494
[SPEAKER_01]: I told you it had applicability.
01:37:08.714 --> 01:37:09.435
[SPEAKER_01]: I promised you.
01:37:10.477 --> 01:37:11.118
[SPEAKER_01]: It's crazy.
01:37:11.739 --> 01:37:14.604
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, excuse me.
01:37:15.306 --> 01:37:17.890
[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, fan or man a secret forge though, bro.
01:37:18.376 --> 01:37:19.278
[SPEAKER_01]: He's done this before.
01:37:19.298 --> 01:37:20.602
[SPEAKER_01]: He knows how to keep a secret.
01:37:20.642 --> 01:37:21.384
[SPEAKER_01]: He knows how to do it.
01:37:21.644 --> 01:37:22.908
[SPEAKER_01]: Even Melcord doesn't know.
01:37:23.830 --> 01:37:25.294
[SPEAKER_01]: And this is where he goes kind of nuts.
01:37:26.036 --> 01:37:27.479
[SPEAKER_01]: He makes some really nasty swords.
01:37:28.462 --> 01:37:34.056
[SPEAKER_01]: And he's got these wild helmets, tall Helms with plumes of red.
01:37:34.745 --> 01:37:47.323
[SPEAKER_01]: He does such a bang-up job on these, by the way, that Matan rues the day when he taught the husband of Nerdonel, all the lore of metal work that he had learned of our land.
01:37:47.943 --> 01:37:49.105
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he literally laments this.
01:37:49.125 --> 01:37:52.950
[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, gosh, I never should have taught him how to do this stuff.
01:37:52.970 --> 01:37:55.374
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, this is the guy who made the silverals, too, by the way.
01:37:55.394 --> 01:37:56.435
[SPEAKER_01]: I figured that out.
01:37:57.897 --> 01:38:01.242
[SPEAKER_01]: But what he's doing now discounts that.
01:38:02.555 --> 01:38:04.317
[SPEAKER_01]: essentially in meton's eyes.
01:38:05.118 --> 01:38:09.162
[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, it wasn't worth it to have the silverals if this is what's going on now.
01:38:09.542 --> 01:38:10.783
[SPEAKER_01]: Why don't we know more about meton?
01:38:10.823 --> 01:38:11.104
[SPEAKER_01]: Do we?
01:38:12.645 --> 01:38:13.626
[SPEAKER_01]: Do it's interesting.
01:38:13.646 --> 01:38:14.908
[SPEAKER_01]: I would love a story on him.
01:38:17.270 --> 01:38:31.785
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so we've got lies, evil whisperings, false counsel that are now just running a
01:38:31.934 --> 01:38:39.801
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and this is the end of the high days and the enter the the enter now into like the evening.
01:38:41.519 --> 01:38:45.945
[SPEAKER_01]: of, uh, it's their ancient glory.
01:38:46.206 --> 01:38:51.293
[SPEAKER_01]: So, so this is where you start to kind of, I can't remember if it's, I don't think it's literal yet.
01:38:51.393 --> 01:38:58.022
[SPEAKER_01]: There is a literal dimming of the trees for a while, but this is almost kind of just like, uh, yeah, the day is, is waning.
01:38:59.224 --> 01:39:00.225
[SPEAKER_01]: The light is waning.
01:39:00.285 --> 01:39:04.531
[SPEAKER_01]: The shadows are lengthening and growing and it's getting dark.
01:39:05.292 --> 01:39:09.298
[SPEAKER_01]: Getting dark out
01:39:09.498 --> 01:39:09.959
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
01:39:10.980 --> 01:39:13.344
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe we should have kept Melcourt tied up.
01:39:13.624 --> 01:39:13.885
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
01:39:13.905 --> 01:39:17.490
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe we should have tried to think creatively that maybe he's just kind of a bad guy.
01:39:17.510 --> 01:39:19.934
[SPEAKER_01]: He's just a bad dude.
01:39:20.895 --> 01:39:21.176
[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
01:39:21.717 --> 01:39:22.318
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not enough.
01:39:23.760 --> 01:39:25.262
[SPEAKER_01]: Repentance is not in his.
01:39:27.265 --> 01:39:30.510
[SPEAKER_01]: In his vocabulary.
01:39:31.621 --> 01:39:34.127
[SPEAKER_01]: and fan or gets bold to man, this is crazy.
01:39:34.147 --> 01:39:38.096
[SPEAKER_01]: He starts to just talk about rebellion against the Valar.
01:39:39.399 --> 01:39:43.388
[SPEAKER_01]: He cries aloud that he would depart from Valinore back to the world without.
01:39:44.611 --> 01:39:48.581
[SPEAKER_01]: He's going back guys like what and would deliver the Noldore from Thraldom.
01:39:48.601 --> 01:39:49.663
[SPEAKER_01]: Their slaves in his mind.
01:39:51.128 --> 01:39:52.050
[SPEAKER_01]: if they would follow him.
01:39:53.373 --> 01:39:58.806
[SPEAKER_01]: So, there's great unrest, interior, and Finnway is troubled by this.
01:39:58.846 --> 01:40:02.174
[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, man, what is my, what's my favorite son doing?
01:40:03.457 --> 01:40:04.359
[SPEAKER_01]: What is going on?
01:40:06.443 --> 01:40:08.428
[SPEAKER_01]: He summons lords to his council.
01:40:10.315 --> 01:40:15.010
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but if engulf and hastened to his halls, this is where he kind of pleads.
01:40:15.070 --> 01:40:15.471
[SPEAKER_01]: That's right.
01:40:15.511 --> 01:40:16.595
[SPEAKER_01]: He pleads to his father.
01:40:16.615 --> 01:40:20.065
[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, Dad, can you say a word to fan or please?
01:40:20.868 --> 01:40:22.232
[SPEAKER_01]: Can you just talk him down?
01:40:23.866 --> 01:40:25.229
[SPEAKER_01]: like he's talking crazy.
01:40:25.630 --> 01:40:27.574
[SPEAKER_01]: He's talking about going against the vialar.
01:40:28.015 --> 01:40:30.861
[SPEAKER_01]: He's rallying people to leave vialinar vialinar.
01:40:30.901 --> 01:40:33.326
[SPEAKER_01]: Excuse me, vialinar vialinar vialinar.
01:40:34.288 --> 01:40:35.210
[SPEAKER_01]: We got to do something, man.
01:40:35.571 --> 01:40:36.353
[SPEAKER_01]: He listens to you.
01:40:36.393 --> 01:40:36.894
[SPEAKER_01]: He loves you.
01:40:36.934 --> 01:40:37.676
[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't listen to me.
01:40:37.696 --> 01:40:38.177
[SPEAKER_01]: He hates me.
01:40:39.038 --> 01:40:39.680
[SPEAKER_01]: He hates me, dad.
01:40:42.806 --> 01:40:43.528
[SPEAKER_01]: Talk him down.
01:40:44.858 --> 01:40:48.502
[SPEAKER_01]: Speak some sense to him, like help him perceive.
01:40:48.522 --> 01:40:50.685
[SPEAKER_01]: So again, this is another reason that Finn golfing so amazing.
01:40:50.705 --> 01:40:53.268
[SPEAKER_01]: Like he, he's above these lies, I think.
01:40:53.288 --> 01:40:56.732
[SPEAKER_01]: Like he's above these machinations of melcore.
01:40:56.932 --> 01:41:01.858
[SPEAKER_01]: I really think that, I don't know if it's explicitly said and I just missed it, but it's just, that's, that's what's going on dude.
01:41:01.878 --> 01:41:02.379
[SPEAKER_01]: He's above it.
01:41:05.282 --> 01:41:07.805
[SPEAKER_01]: He has a purity, like Montway, again.
01:41:07.886 --> 01:41:09.407
[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe he's the Montway of the L.D.
01:41:10.869 --> 01:41:14.173
[SPEAKER_01]: Fan Or is the, is the melcore.
01:41:15.520 --> 01:41:17.863
[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, thou does not now repent of it.
01:41:18.163 --> 01:41:21.767
[SPEAKER_01]: Two sons at least thou hast to honor thy words.
01:41:22.488 --> 01:41:29.296
[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, he's just saying like, you know, he's got to help him.
01:41:30.097 --> 01:41:32.239
[SPEAKER_01]: Even as Fengolf is talking, though, this is kind of crazy.
01:41:32.259 --> 01:41:35.963
[SPEAKER_01]: It's sort of like a jaw-dropping moment.
01:41:36.544 --> 01:41:42.591
[SPEAKER_01]: He's in there pleading for his dad to
01:41:44.191 --> 01:41:50.847
[SPEAKER_01]: intercede and help fanor, you know, talk some sense into him and fanor walks in.
01:41:51.950 --> 01:41:54.356
[SPEAKER_01]: He lay ah, it's just what I thought.
01:41:54.436 --> 01:41:55.439
[SPEAKER_01]: You come into you, slurred me?
01:41:56.441 --> 01:41:56.922
[SPEAKER_01]: Michael Scott.
01:41:57.905 --> 01:41:58.747
[SPEAKER_01]: Come into you, slurred me?
01:41:59.729 --> 01:42:00.190
[SPEAKER_01]: I knew it.
01:42:01.614 --> 01:42:02.115
[SPEAKER_01]: I knew it.
01:42:02.770 --> 01:42:09.403
[SPEAKER_01]: My half brother would be before me with my father, in this as in all of the matters.
01:42:10.285 --> 01:42:16.337
[SPEAKER_01]: Then turning upon Fengalph and he drew a sword crying, get the gun and take thy due place.
01:42:17.740 --> 01:42:20.425
[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
01:42:21.704 --> 01:42:27.512
[SPEAKER_01]: So draws a sword, right, which I'm I'm kind of guessing this might be the first time this has ever happened in Valinore.
01:42:28.013 --> 01:42:37.086
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe not, but I'm like this might be like a historical event of the first drawing of a sword in the presence of someone that you're kind of pissed off at.
01:42:37.567 --> 01:42:39.730
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe not, but I think it probably is.
01:42:39.710 --> 01:42:44.096
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so if in golf and again, his character is so high, he bows and he leaves.
01:42:45.378 --> 01:42:51.586
[SPEAKER_01]: But fan or goes after him, dude, like he pursues him out of the halls of Fenway.
01:42:52.387 --> 01:42:59.777
[SPEAKER_01]: And he holds his, the point of his bright sword against Feng golfing's breast.
01:43:01.445 --> 01:43:03.368
[SPEAKER_01]: holds him at swordpoint.
01:43:04.370 --> 01:43:05.592
[SPEAKER_01]: See half-brother he said.
01:43:05.632 --> 01:43:07.896
[SPEAKER_01]: This is sharper than thy tongue.
01:43:08.898 --> 01:43:18.374
[SPEAKER_01]: Try but once more to you certain my place and the love of my father and maybe it will rid the Noldore of one who seeks to be the master of thralls.
01:43:19.736 --> 01:43:21.239
[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
01:43:21.259 --> 01:43:22.280
[SPEAKER_01]: A bunch of people hear this.
01:43:22.320 --> 01:43:26.187
[SPEAKER_01]: They're in the great square beneath the minden.
01:43:26.167 --> 01:43:33.628
[SPEAKER_01]: And again, if in golf it doesn't say anything man and their silence and he goes to seek his brother.
01:43:35.060 --> 01:43:52.221
[SPEAKER_01]: Now all this is going on and it's we're kind of like where are the Valar they're seeing all of it They're not stupid But again, there is this this in the same way that they were shown freedom From a roux They value free will as well.
01:43:52.281 --> 01:43:57.688
[SPEAKER_01]: They're not gonna like Manipulate and puppeteer the the Eldar.
01:43:58.069 --> 01:44:01.573
[SPEAKER_01]: That's just not what they're gonna do
01:44:01.553 --> 01:44:04.439
[SPEAKER_01]: because then they truly would be thralls, right?
01:44:04.459 --> 01:44:06.203
[SPEAKER_01]: They would actually would be slaves.
01:44:06.945 --> 01:44:09.290
[SPEAKER_01]: And that gets brought up here, I think, by Mondo's in a minute.
01:44:09.310 --> 01:44:11.454
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, that's not, well, dude, bro, you're wrong.
01:44:12.236 --> 01:44:12.717
[SPEAKER_01]: You're wrong.
01:44:14.801 --> 01:44:17.487
[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, they're aware of all of this.
01:44:17.467 --> 01:44:22.720
[SPEAKER_01]: and a mon ways grieved, but he watches and he says no word, right?
01:44:23.201 --> 01:44:31.982
[SPEAKER_01]: Again, the idea of like maintaining free will and letting people make decisions freely.
01:44:33.532 --> 01:44:38.660
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, they were kind of, they were kind of like upset too because they had invited them.
01:44:39.301 --> 01:44:44.648
[SPEAKER_01]: The elder are too fallen or freely and they could stay or they could leave.
01:44:45.049 --> 01:44:46.631
[SPEAKER_01]: They weren't holding them captive.
01:44:46.651 --> 01:44:47.693
[SPEAKER_01]: They weren't prisoners.
01:44:50.337 --> 01:44:55.665
[SPEAKER_01]: But at this point, like what fan was done, he's gone a little too far, right?
01:44:55.745 --> 01:45:02.695
[SPEAKER_01]: And what he has done can't be left on a dressed.
01:45:04.447 --> 01:45:26.100
[SPEAKER_01]: uh... before mondos in the ring of doom and he's kind of commanded to answer for all of his crap right is that they're they're sort of like you know speak for yourself and account for your your doings and through this it becomes obvious that like okay so melcore was involved
01:45:26.350 --> 01:45:53.927
[SPEAKER_01]: uh... tool cost doesn't need any more you know he doesn't need any more reason to go after melcore i think this is kind of like a looted to and it says talk us he's off uh... and can't wait to get his hands around melcores back like he's just do that love it the straight away to look us left the council to lay hands upon him and bring him again to judgements like he didn't need any more reason didn't need any more instead of
01:45:53.907 --> 01:45:58.833
[SPEAKER_01]: He's melcores great as that of me for sure, dude.
01:46:01.096 --> 01:46:10.006
[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I guess it's kind of good at least that this is sort of cleared up where it's like this didn't come from fan or this came from from melcore, okay?
01:46:10.968 --> 01:46:14.552
[SPEAKER_01]: So now at least we know sort of the origins of it all.
01:46:16.234 --> 01:46:18.497
[SPEAKER_01]: But at the same time fan or it's not guiltless, right?
01:46:18.517 --> 01:46:22.902
[SPEAKER_01]: Like he played into this, he's acclaimed, succumbed, succumbed.
01:46:23.776 --> 01:46:36.835
[SPEAKER_01]: he sucked and yeah the piece was was broken and he's the one like he's the one who decided to like ironically take that hammer as and break the piece.
01:46:38.357 --> 01:46:44.907
[SPEAKER_01]: Drawing his sword upon his
01:46:44.887 --> 01:46:46.610
[SPEAKER_01]: And so Mondos has a little judgment here.
01:46:46.630 --> 01:46:48.714
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to read this because it's pretty crazy.
01:46:49.154 --> 01:46:50.256
[SPEAKER_01]: That'll speak as to throw them.
01:46:51.398 --> 01:46:53.783
[SPEAKER_01]: If throw them at B, that'll cancel not escape it.
01:46:54.464 --> 01:46:56.708
[SPEAKER_01]: For Mondway is King of Arda, right?
01:46:56.728 --> 01:46:59.733
[SPEAKER_01]: So remember your place, and not of Amman only, right?
01:46:59.753 --> 01:47:02.558
[SPEAKER_01]: The whole world, not just where we are now.
01:47:02.538 --> 01:47:04.281
[SPEAKER_01]: Therefore, this doom is now made.
01:47:04.701 --> 01:47:15.137
[SPEAKER_01]: For 12 years, thou shall leave Tyrion where this threat was uttered, which by the way, 12 years, I think for an elf is like, I don't know, five minutes, but still a timeout.
01:47:16.199 --> 01:47:20.225
[SPEAKER_01]: In that time, take counsel with I self, and remember who and what that art.
01:47:20.846 --> 01:47:26.975
[SPEAKER_01]: But after that time, this matter shall be set in peace and held redressed if others will release the.
01:47:27.056 --> 01:47:30.621
[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of think this is almost sort of a fault of the Valar.
01:47:32.103 --> 01:47:43.787
[SPEAKER_01]: I think they think that just like sending people off to think about what they've done is going to solve things and in this case, I don't know if it's going to.
01:47:43.807 --> 01:47:48.036
[SPEAKER_01]: I have a feeling it's probably not going to with melcore.
01:47:48.016 --> 01:47:49.298
[SPEAKER_01]: It definitely did not.
01:47:49.779 --> 01:48:12.471
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, this is obviously a less aggressive and a less restraining or less restrained away of dealing judgment Then then melcore because melcore was literally chained up right like his like prisoner Fanories just essentially banished from Tyrion and has to go somewhere else for a while
01:48:13.598 --> 01:48:18.667
[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't know, I don't know, like, could you have gotten them some counsel?
01:48:19.248 --> 01:48:25.640
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, could you have said, you know, you're going to have to go away and be banished, but you're not going to just have to think on your own thoughts.
01:48:25.660 --> 01:48:29.407
[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to have someone, we're going to pair you with a volunteer, right?
01:48:30.930 --> 01:48:36.400
[SPEAKER_01]: To meet with you weekly and kind of talk about things and maybe help you gain a new perspective.
01:48:37.561 --> 01:48:59.046
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, how can I think of that, but like, a Valar didn't, I don't know, maybe that's just the whole point is you if someone's going to help you come to a moral conclusion, when you've done something this obviously bad, when there was no precedent for it, even like this hasn't happened before did, if you can't figure that out in your own, then you're never going to figure it out, maybe that's the thinking, I don't know.
01:49:02.114 --> 01:49:02.915
[SPEAKER_01]: But again, we see this.
01:49:02.935 --> 01:49:04.597
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, ah, maybe not the best.
01:49:05.257 --> 01:49:07.840
[SPEAKER_01]: Or again, Valorant Perfect, Eldarant Perfect.
01:49:09.021 --> 01:49:10.263
[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe that's the point as well.
01:49:11.944 --> 01:49:19.052
[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, and he kind of says, at that time, this matter shall be set in peace and held redressed if others will release these.
01:49:19.072 --> 01:49:21.274
[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I read that already, but the time about Finn Golfing, right?
01:49:22.255 --> 01:49:26.680
[SPEAKER_01]: And he says straight away, dude, he says, I forgive my brother, I release him.
01:49:28.662 --> 01:49:29.623
[SPEAKER_01]: Right away, dude.
01:49:30.278 --> 01:49:32.300
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, he was almost the first murder, right?
01:49:32.801 --> 01:49:39.249
[SPEAKER_01]: Finn Goffin was almost the first murdered being in all of Arda.
01:49:40.490 --> 01:49:44.174
[SPEAKER_01]: And he says, I, you know, I hold nothing against him.
01:49:45.716 --> 01:49:48.379
[SPEAKER_01]: Gosh, you can see why people love Finn Goffin.
01:49:48.399 --> 01:49:50.782
[SPEAKER_01]: You can see why as has him on a t-shirt, right?
01:49:52.684 --> 01:49:53.245
[SPEAKER_01]: He's incredible.
01:49:53.846 --> 01:49:59.172
[SPEAKER_01]: But Finn or doesn't even say anything.
01:50:00.417 --> 01:50:02.500
[SPEAKER_01]: Full of resentment, he just walks away.
01:50:06.165 --> 01:50:09.711
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, leaves and he leaves Valmar, the council, the ring of doom, he's gone, he's out.
01:50:11.233 --> 01:50:28.298
[SPEAKER_01]: He takes his sons and they go north and they kind of build a new stronghold in forteminals where they lay all these gems up in the hoard and also weapons.
01:50:28.649 --> 01:50:30.232
[SPEAKER_01]: Tolkien's very specific about that.
01:50:30.473 --> 01:50:33.298
[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, you know, they got gems, but they also got weapons.
01:50:33.338 --> 01:50:35.282
[SPEAKER_01]: They're storing up.
01:50:35.302 --> 01:50:39.249
[SPEAKER_01]: And the silverals, of course, are shut in a chamber of iron.
01:50:39.269 --> 01:50:43.738
[SPEAKER_01]: They're locked up like if the Valar thought they'd ever seen before.
01:50:44.528 --> 01:50:55.562
[SPEAKER_01]: They, you know, if they ever thought they would see them again, they're wrong, baby, I'm taking them with me, I'm taking my ball and I'm going home, that kind of thing, right?
01:50:55.622 --> 01:51:02.010
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, we've all been that kid, you lose the game, give me my ball, I'm leaving, I don't care.
01:51:02.490 --> 01:51:04.433
[SPEAKER_01]: That was a foul, but I'm leaving.
01:51:04.753 --> 01:51:07.196
[SPEAKER_01]: You guys can play, but not with my ball.
01:51:07.637 --> 01:51:07.937
[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah.
01:51:09.115 --> 01:51:15.245
[SPEAKER_01]: That's where Fainor kind of ends up, we get a little bit more in a second.
01:51:17.348 --> 01:51:19.151
[SPEAKER_01]: Fain, but also, yeah, this is important.
01:51:19.191 --> 01:51:27.684
[SPEAKER_01]: Fainway goes with him and then he lets Fain golf in, rule the nodal or interior.
01:51:27.965 --> 01:51:29.948
[SPEAKER_01]: So essentially, just, which is kind of ironic, right?
01:51:30.008 --> 01:51:32.592
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that's what made,
01:51:32.572 --> 01:51:34.674
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what made fan or so mad.
01:51:34.714 --> 01:51:44.022
[SPEAKER_01]: I guess because it was a bequeathing, instead of a use Serping, you bequeathed me my lull instead of you slipping me.
01:51:45.123 --> 01:52:01.617
[SPEAKER_01]: That I guess, and I guess, you know, he's banished too, but it's just so funny that it's like, that's what he was afraid of, that his half brothers were gonna use Serp, his father, and take over and rule Tyrion, and that's what ends up happening.
01:52:01.597 --> 01:52:02.458
[SPEAKER_01]: ironic, right?
01:52:03.160 --> 01:52:09.370
[SPEAKER_01]: Again, different circumstances, but, but, you know, I don't know, could melcore foresee this and say, how can I twist this?
01:52:10.371 --> 01:52:12.935
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe not, probably not, because it happened as a result of.
01:52:13.496 --> 01:52:17.783
[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, so, so that's where they kind of end up.
01:52:19.889 --> 01:52:29.703
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but they're still this bitterness, melcores, the ripple effect or the echoing of melcores, actions, and lies, and deceit, and bitterness are there.
01:52:29.763 --> 01:52:32.548
[SPEAKER_01]: They're still there.
01:52:32.588 --> 01:52:36.093
[SPEAKER_01]: They remain, and they're going to have repercussions for sure.
01:52:37.254 --> 01:52:37.695
[SPEAKER_01]: So,
01:52:39.025 --> 01:52:58.806
[SPEAKER_01]: melcore knows that it's been revealed they you know he knows that crap they've I've been found out and this is so cool because I think he was um personified this way before or represented this way before but he passes from place to place as a cloud in the hills and that just might be
01:52:59.933 --> 01:53:02.677
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, that might just be figurative language.
01:53:02.837 --> 01:53:23.528
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if he's actually Probably not but I kind of like this idea of him like like Manifesting into a cloud like he's riding in mon ways space being like you don't even know bro Kind of cool And told us Seeks for him in vain can't find him
01:53:23.508 --> 01:53:25.450
[SPEAKER_01]: can't find them.
01:53:25.491 --> 01:53:26.332
[SPEAKER_01]: And here it is guys.
01:53:26.852 --> 01:53:30.156
[SPEAKER_01]: It seems like the light of the trees dimmed.
01:53:31.698 --> 01:53:36.304
[SPEAKER_01]: And the shadows of everything grow longer, grew longer, and darker at that time.
01:53:36.424 --> 01:53:39.769
[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, we're past the new tide.
01:53:41.711 --> 01:53:43.153
[SPEAKER_01]: Dark times are coming.
01:53:44.129 --> 01:53:54.501
[SPEAKER_01]: And at the end of the chapter, I think we get like a brightening of the trees because of fan or kind of standing up to melcore, essentially, and melcore being like, well, crap, what am I going to do now?
01:53:54.521 --> 01:54:07.656
[SPEAKER_01]: There's like a re-resurgence of the trees, lights, lights, lights, lights, yeah, son of a moon, um, but it's almost like there's a
01:54:09.188 --> 01:54:16.297
[SPEAKER_01]: There's an implied, or like a figurative shadow that remains.
01:54:16.777 --> 01:54:28.852
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's exactly what we just talked about about that those lasting effects of bitterness and distrust being interior, like that's there now.
01:54:29.373 --> 01:54:33.538
[SPEAKER_01]: So even if the light comes back, they're still that cloud, that cloud of mistrust.
01:54:34.820 --> 01:54:38.925
[SPEAKER_01]: And a fear.
01:54:38.905 --> 01:54:40.526
[SPEAKER_01]: holding true to each other.
01:54:41.607 --> 01:54:42.128
[SPEAKER_01]: It's crazy.
01:54:43.649 --> 01:54:51.797
[SPEAKER_01]: So, for a while, Mel Cores not seeing, man, he kind of goes MIA.
01:54:53.659 --> 01:54:54.619
[SPEAKER_01]: He goes MIA.
01:54:55.801 --> 01:54:58.543
[SPEAKER_01]: And there's no even, there's not even a rumor of him.
01:54:59.604 --> 01:55:07.191
[SPEAKER_01]: But then suddenly
01:55:09.500 --> 01:55:10.651
[SPEAKER_01]: He's wanting to be friends.
01:55:12.031 --> 01:55:29.628
[SPEAKER_01]: behold the truth of all that I've spoken and how thou art banished unjustly, but if the heart of fan or is yet free and bold as were his words and tearing in, then I will aid him and bring him far from this narrow hand, for am I not Vala also?
01:55:29.668 --> 01:55:39.878
[SPEAKER_01]: Yay, and more than those who
01:55:41.208 --> 01:55:44.093
[SPEAKER_01]: most skilled and most valiant of the people of Arta think of you.
01:55:44.113 --> 01:55:48.700
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just boasting like just building them up here, fan of the flames being like, you know, you guys are the best.
01:55:49.181 --> 01:55:50.002
[SPEAKER_02]: And think I've always been here.
01:55:50.022 --> 01:55:51.444
[SPEAKER_02]: I taught you how to make weapons, bro.
01:55:52.005 --> 01:55:53.267
[SPEAKER_01]: I told you how the Valar were.
01:55:54.089 --> 01:55:54.910
[SPEAKER_01]: Keep in secrets.
01:55:56.993 --> 01:56:00.339
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I probably even taught you how to make the son rails.
01:56:00.359 --> 01:56:01.120
[SPEAKER_01]: Don't you remember that?
01:56:01.220 --> 01:56:01.781
[SPEAKER_01]: Isn't that what I did?
01:56:01.801 --> 01:56:03.223
[SPEAKER_01]: He's gaslighting like a mother.
01:56:03.464 --> 01:56:04.245
[SPEAKER_01]: It's crazy.
01:56:06.250 --> 01:56:10.314
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I told him says here that Fanor's heart is still better, right?
01:56:10.374 --> 01:56:33.338
[SPEAKER_01]: He was humiliated, uh, he thought he was going to lead this great rebellion, and this great adventure back to middle earth, and it totally backfired on him, you know, as he had trouble with his brother, and then the Valar found out and he got slapped on the wrists and he had to leave his home and take his stones with him, nothing worse than that, right?
01:56:34.516 --> 01:56:50.739
[SPEAKER_01]: So we kind of think about this for a second, he does, and melcoresensis it, and he knows that the cilmerals are there, and this is where he makes his mistake, this is where melcore trips up.
01:56:51.861 --> 01:57:03.477
[SPEAKER_01]: Here's a strong place, and well guarded, but think not that the cilmerals will lie safe in any treasury within the realm of Valar, or in the realm of Valar.
01:57:04.975 --> 01:57:06.358
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're going to find him, dude.
01:57:07.080 --> 01:57:08.323
[SPEAKER_01]: Got to take him.
01:57:08.343 --> 01:57:09.225
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll carry him for you.
01:57:10.989 --> 01:57:11.951
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll carry him fan, or.
01:57:12.151 --> 01:57:12.993
[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, let's go.
01:57:14.517 --> 01:57:17.403
[SPEAKER_01]: And essentially, he just overshot it, man.
01:57:17.864 --> 01:57:18.546
[SPEAKER_01]: He bricked it.
01:57:19.977 --> 01:57:30.279
[SPEAKER_01]: He got too confident in his mastery over the Noldore and he was no match for Fanor in this in this instance.
01:57:31.001 --> 01:57:38.577
[SPEAKER_01]: He knows at that at that remark he knows he's like, you're just coming after the Silmeral Stood.
01:57:40.092 --> 01:57:54.068
[SPEAKER_01]: Hate overcame Fanor's fear, and he cursed Melkor and bade him, begon, away, perceiving there his fierce lust for the Sumerals, get the God from my gate, thou jail crow of Mondos.
01:57:55.490 --> 01:57:56.451
[SPEAKER_01]: Slams the Dorne's face.
01:57:58.393 --> 01:58:00.015
[SPEAKER_01]: All right, wow.
01:58:02.178 --> 01:58:08.445
[SPEAKER_01]: Not only slams the Dorne's face, but slams the door
01:58:11.260 --> 01:58:35.732
[SPEAKER_01]: crazy melcore to parts and shame um yeah this time for revenge is not yet he flees he's pretty I mean scared essentially and uh Finnway scared man he sends messages to
01:58:37.670 --> 01:58:58.391
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, if you're in the length of the shadows, the Valar, sitting council, got once or a May and Tulcus spring up, but even as they set out and pursued, messengers came from Eldemar telling that Melkor had fled through the Calaciria, and from the hill of tuna, the elves had seen him pass and wrath as a thunder cloud.
01:58:58.531 --> 01:59:04.977
[SPEAKER_01]: So always this cloud metaphor, which is really, really cool representation, personification of a cloud, whatever.
01:59:04.957 --> 01:59:14.951
[SPEAKER_01]: And they said that then he turned northward for the Tolerian al-Aquande, had seen his shadow going by their haven towards Araman.
01:59:15.852 --> 01:59:28.129
[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, departs Valenor for a while, melcores out, and this is where the two trees kind of shine again at his departure, the shine unshadowed, and the land was filled with light.
01:59:29.310 --> 01:59:32.635
[SPEAKER_01]: But the Valenor knew, man, they knew.
01:59:34.150 --> 01:59:48.376
[SPEAKER_01]: as a cloud far off that looms ever higher born upon a slow cold wind, a doubt now marred the joy of all the dwellers and I'm on, dreading that they, dreading they knew not what evil yet might come.
01:59:48.396 --> 01:59:49.898
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's kind of the crazy thing.
01:59:49.918 --> 01:59:51.942
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like that was bad, right?
01:59:52.824 --> 01:59:55.328
[SPEAKER_01]: But it might be nothing compared to what's to come.
01:59:57.772 --> 01:59:58.133
[SPEAKER_01]: Crazy.
02:00:00.357 --> 02:00:01.078
[SPEAKER_01]: crazy.
02:00:02.560 --> 02:00:13.614
[SPEAKER_01]: This chapter was definitely, it's short, it's only a few pages, but man is it packed full, it's meaningful, it is, it's a great narrative too.
02:00:13.655 --> 02:00:19.362
[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like we're kind of finally settling into like this story where we're following characters and like,
02:00:19.342 --> 02:00:28.780
[SPEAKER_01]: a plot with foreshadowing and getting to know them, they're no longer just names being referenced and us trying to figure it out.
02:00:29.000 --> 02:00:38.278
[SPEAKER_01]: I know it's going to get even crazier because we've got all the sons involved and they all sound the same, a bunch of names that sound the same about to happen together.
02:00:38.258 --> 02:00:53.787
[SPEAKER_01]: but right now it still feels very navigable like it's it's a great story it's a great story and um gosh it's I love it dude so anyway that was chapter seven guys uh hopefully I wasn't too
02:00:56.399 --> 02:00:57.200
[SPEAKER_01]: wild with it.
02:00:57.381 --> 02:01:00.125
[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully I didn't get to bogged down in anything.
02:01:00.786 --> 02:01:03.129
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I'll let you all be the judge of that.
02:01:03.170 --> 02:01:03.530
[SPEAKER_01]: Who am I?
02:01:03.570 --> 02:01:05.313
[SPEAKER_01]: Can't all let as be the judge of that, really?
02:01:06.254 --> 02:01:06.755
[SPEAKER_01]: Cheesely.
02:01:06.775 --> 02:01:07.737
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, let's screw that up.
02:01:08.718 --> 02:01:09.640
[SPEAKER_01]: Can't take him anywhere.
02:01:10.000 --> 02:01:12.484
[SPEAKER_01]: Can't let him out of his cage.
02:01:12.464 --> 02:01:14.627
[SPEAKER_01]: because he's a bad boy.
02:01:15.128 --> 02:01:16.650
[SPEAKER_01]: Just like Melkor, guys, let's me.
02:01:18.853 --> 02:01:21.076
[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, so anyway, I had a lot of fun.
02:01:21.216 --> 02:01:22.838
[SPEAKER_01]: Again, hopefully that was cool.
02:01:22.978 --> 02:01:26.503
[SPEAKER_01]: If nothing else, just let it drive you to the chapter, go read the chapter, go listen to the chapter.
02:01:26.563 --> 02:01:30.268
[SPEAKER_01]: It's great man.
02:01:30.449 --> 02:01:31.971
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, is dark and it's kind of depressing.
02:01:32.752 --> 02:01:33.913
[SPEAKER_01]: But again, Finn golfing.
02:01:34.013 --> 02:01:35.035
[SPEAKER_01]: He's one who holds true.
02:01:36.997 --> 02:01:38.860
[SPEAKER_01]: Even, even to his brother.
02:01:40.493 --> 02:01:43.397
[SPEAKER_01]: even to his brother fan or he holds true to him.
02:01:43.738 --> 02:01:48.085
[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's again, what would Finn golf and do?
02:01:48.385 --> 02:01:55.055
[SPEAKER_01]: WWE FD, which sounds like you're wrestling, you know, something.
02:01:55.075 --> 02:01:56.758
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, kind of does.
02:01:57.960 --> 02:01:59.362
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, yeah.
02:02:00.964 --> 02:02:02.707
[SPEAKER_01]: Next week, we're going to be in chapter eight.
02:02:02.807 --> 02:02:04.029
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so excited for next week.
02:02:04.189 --> 02:02:05.992
[SPEAKER_01]: Man, it is going to be amazing.
02:02:07.354 --> 02:02:08.155
[SPEAKER_01]: Next week.
02:02:09.755 --> 02:02:13.020
[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be spending the chapter with our brother, Jake Hodgeson.
02:02:14.162 --> 02:02:15.464
[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be unbelievable.
02:02:16.125 --> 02:02:26.942
[SPEAKER_01]: We reached out to him and said, hey, brother, what chapter, you know, would you want to do it a chapter from some really, what, what, what would you want to do?
02:02:27.002 --> 02:02:28.965
[SPEAKER_01]: And he's like, you know, I mean, I think chapter eight.
02:02:29.305 --> 02:02:34.193
[SPEAKER_01]: So he's going to be with us for, gosh, what's it called, the Darkening of Eleanor, I think.
02:02:34.173 --> 02:02:43.379
[SPEAKER_01]: This one I actually kind of know a little bit about, I mean, there's so much artwork about it, we get, I think, as an ungolyent, do we get in this chapter?
02:02:43.439 --> 02:02:45.164
[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to be a volunteer, chapter eight.
02:02:47.009 --> 02:02:49.937
[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, I'm excited about that, it's going to be great to talk to him.
02:02:49.917 --> 02:02:56.425
[SPEAKER_01]: and get his, just to take on the chapter, but then also have him talk about all the, he's a Renaissance man, guys.
02:02:56.485 --> 02:02:57.926
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's just unbelievable.
02:02:58.507 --> 02:03:11.382
[SPEAKER_01]: From barn club to being a dungeon master to writing a novel, to being the master chief editor for concerning Hobbits and acting in it, you know.
02:03:11.563 --> 02:03:19.452
[SPEAKER_01]: And having to deal with me to DJ Lord of the Rings, to his warhammer,
02:03:19.432 --> 02:03:21.735
[SPEAKER_01]: painting and creations.
02:03:21.815 --> 02:03:22.896
[SPEAKER_01]: And he's just a man.
02:03:23.937 --> 02:03:30.245
[SPEAKER_01]: He's just a kind, beautiful human being and I count myself lucky to call him my friend.
02:03:30.485 --> 02:03:35.972
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so as before mentioned, as before mentioned, as before mentioned, yeah, I think I'm going to go with that.
02:03:36.032 --> 02:03:36.633
[SPEAKER_01]: That's a new thing now.
02:03:37.253 --> 02:03:40.377
[SPEAKER_01]: As before mentioned, it's like when people say irregardless.
02:03:43.445 --> 02:03:45.347
[SPEAKER_01]: or I could care less.
02:03:45.908 --> 02:03:49.972
[SPEAKER_01]: I guess that might be an insult, but it's, I couldn't care less.
02:03:49.992 --> 02:03:52.735
[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of people say I could care less.
02:03:52.755 --> 02:03:56.640
[SPEAKER_01]: And if you do say that, I could care less about it.
02:03:57.180 --> 02:04:02.406
[SPEAKER_01]: My favorite one that Sarah hates is, I don't give a care, which was real big in the 90s.
02:04:03.027 --> 02:04:04.749
[SPEAKER_01]: We'd be like, do you know what I'm gonna give a care?
02:04:05.930 --> 02:04:07.151
[SPEAKER_01]: And she hates it for some reason.
02:04:07.412 --> 02:04:13.198
[SPEAKER_01]: And I always loved it, and I love that I've always loved it, and she's always hated it, because I'll bring that back every once in a while.
02:04:13.178 --> 02:04:33.320
[SPEAKER_01]: But as I said before, easier way to say that, I don't have a Tolkien letter ready for buywater post, can't believe I'm mitting that, I can't believe it's happening, I'm an idiot, I'm sorry, the buywater post is snowed under and I just forgot to go, take it out of the PO box, that's my bad.
02:04:34.221 --> 02:04:41.970
[SPEAKER_01]: But I did have a poll this week, I wanted to ask people, if you had to wear a silma real, wear.
02:04:43.064 --> 02:04:43.966
[SPEAKER_01]: And there were four choices.
02:04:44.768 --> 02:04:47.314
[SPEAKER_01]: Round the brow, you know, round your head.
02:04:47.655 --> 02:04:49.258
[SPEAKER_01]: Look, eyes are up here, baby.
02:04:50.902 --> 02:04:58.339
[SPEAKER_01]: On me neck, belt buckle, fool, or some custom shoes, dog.
02:04:58.690 --> 02:05:00.813
[SPEAKER_01]: So this was, this was a cool split, honestly.
02:05:00.833 --> 02:05:03.596
[SPEAKER_01]: 30% said I'm wearing it around the brow.
02:05:04.237 --> 02:05:06.039
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, eyes up here, baby.
02:05:06.059 --> 02:05:09.143
[SPEAKER_01]: 47%, almost half of you.
02:05:09.584 --> 02:05:11.266
[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm wearing all my neck, dog.
02:05:12.668 --> 02:05:13.428
[SPEAKER_01]: Eyes up here, baby.
02:05:14.730 --> 02:05:19.716
[SPEAKER_01]: 15% of you said, I'm making a post malone style belt buckle out of this bad boy.
02:05:20.838 --> 02:05:23.621
[SPEAKER_01]: Randy Travis gonna be going, BANG!
02:05:23.641 --> 02:05:24.242
[SPEAKER_00]: Where'd you get that?
02:05:25.707 --> 02:05:28.871
[SPEAKER_01]: And then, gosh, I can't see it because my phone's freaking out.
02:05:28.891 --> 02:05:31.014
[SPEAKER_01]: Eight percent of you said custom shoes.
02:05:32.116 --> 02:05:36.221
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I can't believe I didn't actually pick custom shoes but I didn't pick custom shoes.
02:05:37.002 --> 02:05:37.923
[SPEAKER_01]: We're gonna go through this though.
02:05:39.485 --> 02:05:44.492
[SPEAKER_01]: And shout some people out and repeat people's names for who picked what?
02:05:45.333 --> 02:05:49.558
[SPEAKER_01]: these are the uppers who said, I'm wearing the silver wheels around the brow.
02:05:50.900 --> 02:05:51.841
[SPEAKER_01]: Abigail Rowland.
02:05:52.201 --> 02:05:52.442
[UNKNOWN]: Wow.
02:05:52.822 --> 02:05:53.403
[SPEAKER_01]: No.
02:05:53.423 --> 02:05:53.924
[SPEAKER_01]: That's wrong.
02:05:54.444 --> 02:05:55.506
[SPEAKER_01]: Abigail Rowland.
02:05:55.526 --> 02:05:55.886
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry.
02:05:55.906 --> 02:05:56.246
[SPEAKER_01]: Abigail.
02:05:56.347 --> 02:05:57.067
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so sorry.
02:05:59.110 --> 02:05:59.551
[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
02:05:59.571 --> 02:06:00.572
[SPEAKER_01]: What is wrong with me?
02:06:01.493 --> 02:06:02.434
[SPEAKER_01]: Stockton Taylor.
02:06:03.575 --> 02:06:04.497
[SPEAKER_01]: Ace of Stevens.
02:06:05.017 --> 02:06:12.927
[SPEAKER_01]: Matthew O'Dell.
02:06:14.408 --> 02:06:14.909
[SPEAKER_01]: Shannon.
02:06:15.950 --> 02:06:18.214
[SPEAKER_01]: No way, is that the Shannon, don't we know?

[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, baby.
02:06:41.965 --> 02:06:42.866
[SPEAKER_01]: Great choice guys.
02:06:42.886 --> 02:06:43.627
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it makes sense.
02:06:44.508 --> 02:06:51.437
[SPEAKER_00]: I like to think it's probably where thinner, fanor, fanor, fanor, or more, more, more stuff.
02:06:51.658 --> 02:06:52.298
[SPEAKER_00]: I got to be done.
02:06:52.499 --> 02:06:53.200
[SPEAKER_01]: I have to be done now.
02:06:53.820 --> 02:06:54.421
[SPEAKER_01]: I can't talk.
02:06:54.982 --> 02:06:58.587
[SPEAKER_00]: Probably what fanor, more, most often was around the brow.
02:06:59.608 --> 02:06:59.808
[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
02:06:59.848 --> 02:07:02.932
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, on me, Nick, these, these are the upper, so we're going to wear the Silmarils.

[SPEAKER_01]: Jake Larabina.
02:07:09.472 --> 02:07:11.755
[SPEAKER_01]: Emily, I think I was in there, right?
02:07:12.495 --> 02:07:13.356
[SPEAKER_01]: Isabel Sorris?
02:07:15.819 --> 02:07:17.561
[SPEAKER_01]: Deborah Dale Lewis?
02:07:18.502 --> 02:07:19.143
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you does that?
02:07:19.163 --> 02:07:20.244
[SPEAKER_04]: Are we looking to Daniel?

[SPEAKER_01]: Daniel Jenkins, Dean Russell, Rachel, Trevor Janowski, Cameron Mon, Umberto Tosi, Jake Hodkin, Sophia, Macy,
02:07:34.396 --> 02:07:55.324

02:07:55.405 --> 02:08:01.992
[SPEAKER_01]: Abigail Hempkay, the holistic homestead, manny and a man to Pollock.
02:08:02.012 --> 02:08:09.479
[SPEAKER_01]: I am having slight trepidation because I know I said Jordan's last name correctly on her bywater post.
02:08:09.499 --> 02:08:24.855
[SPEAKER_01]: Submission, and I can't remember if I just set it there as I did then, I hope, I hope because I hate butchering names, but you guys know you forgive me.
02:08:26.168 --> 02:08:28.934
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just how we are, we're butters.
02:08:30.718 --> 02:08:34.526
[SPEAKER_01]: All right, here's the uppers who are down in that thing on a belt buckle.
02:08:34.847 --> 02:08:37.052
[SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna go to the square, Nonsense.
02:08:37.072 --> 02:08:40.740
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go, bye, be some bling bling around the string and string.
02:08:40.820 --> 02:08:42.664
[SPEAKER_01]: Wow, shouldn't have said that.
02:08:43.285 --> 02:08:46.472

[SPEAKER_01]: Those are my kids, but I don't want to say
02:09:17.553 --> 02:09:19.796
[SPEAKER_01]: mark and David.
02:09:21.218 --> 02:09:22.600
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, guys, I should have joined you on that.
02:09:22.820 --> 02:09:24.522
[SPEAKER_01]: I think the shoes would have been the way to go, honestly.
02:09:24.983 --> 02:09:25.283
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
02:09:26.665 --> 02:09:28.067
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, that's your by-water post.
02:09:29.269 --> 02:09:30.731
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, that was fun.
02:09:31.372 --> 02:09:36.979
[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes I get, I'm like, do I, what I, we have poles and it's in the, in other corners of the middle of the earth and like, do I read?
02:09:38.663 --> 02:09:46.021
[SPEAKER_01]: So that like always get like anxiety over it that was nice to be able to do that for a minute and give you guys shout-outs Thank you for participating in those two.

02:09:49.409 --> 02:09:50.933
[SPEAKER_01]: No 24 hours.
02:09:51.835 --> 02:09:54.040
[SPEAKER_01]: Let me see how many votes
02:09:54.020 --> 02:10:20.770
[SPEAKER_01]: 51 plus 10, 61, 66 people like that's awesome guys like you not only have to see it not only see it in the story pop up but then you're like heck yeah I'll vote and I appreciate that I love that polls go all the way back to the days of Facebook and uh I don't know it's really something I really fun something I really fun boy I'm really losing it guys something I have a lot of fun doing and I really have a lot of fun doing it I do

[SPEAKER_01]: Ace is barking at the moon out here.
02:10:26.443 --> 02:10:27.405
[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's just anyone who walks by.
02:10:27.525 --> 02:10:29.948
[SPEAKER_03]: Ace, Ace, come here, it's okay.
02:10:29.968 --> 02:10:32.432
[SPEAKER_03]: Come here, it's okay, come here.
02:10:35.036 --> 02:10:35.877
[SPEAKER_01]: Must mean it's time to go.
02:10:36.238 --> 02:10:37.520
[SPEAKER_01]: I gotta get him inside honestly.
02:10:38.020 --> 02:10:38.842
[SPEAKER_01]: Ace, come here.
02:10:39.583 --> 02:10:53.423
[SPEAKER_01]: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait

[SPEAKER_01]: I already told you, find a friend, talk Tolkien, find a Tolkien friend and talk not Tolkien whatever you guys should load all the time just by listening you're sharing the load reaching out to us you're sharing the load
02:11:11.543 --> 02:11:20.544
[SPEAKER_01]: You don't need any direction of how to do that your master's Believe it or not it's time for whoa hold on a minute.
02:11:20.684 --> 02:11:28.101
[SPEAKER_01]: I oh my gosh, dude Wow, I almost skipped strawberries with cream Apologies
02:11:28.975 --> 02:11:30.698
[SPEAKER_01]: Wow, and I was so excited about this, too.
02:11:30.718 --> 02:11:34.203
[SPEAKER_01]: I love how we're doing this, because I thought about that.
02:11:34.223 --> 02:11:35.345
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, is this going to have one?
02:11:35.365 --> 02:11:36.347
[SPEAKER_01]: And then I'm going to have to respond.
02:11:36.407 --> 02:11:39.131
[SPEAKER_01]: And then I'm going to make one, and then he's going to respond.
02:11:39.151 --> 02:11:41.255
[SPEAKER_01]: And then he's going to be like a back and forth thing, which is really cool.
02:11:41.395 --> 02:11:45.161
[SPEAKER_01]: So his last one was, if you could have the ring for a day, what would you do?
02:11:45.181 --> 02:11:49.127
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you, if I could have the ring for a day?
02:11:50.660 --> 02:11:53.043
[SPEAKER_01]: And like, I know exactly what I do.
02:11:53.423 --> 02:11:55.706
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, I thought about this already.
02:11:55.887 --> 02:12:02.595
[SPEAKER_01]: When I listened to the last episode, and kind of locked it away, and I almost lost it until I just remembered, where it was, I found the room and opened it.
02:12:02.635 --> 02:12:03.757
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like this in the drawer, there it is.
02:12:04.417 --> 02:12:06.640
[SPEAKER_01]: Not the ring, the, what I'm gonna say now.
02:12:07.261 --> 02:12:09.664
[SPEAKER_01]: I would put that bad boy on and I would just sit and wait.
02:12:11.727 --> 02:12:13.589
[SPEAKER_01]: I would just sit and wait, I'd be like, come on.
02:12:14.029 --> 02:12:14.490
[SPEAKER_01]: Were you at,
02:12:16.006 --> 02:12:31.028
[SPEAKER_01]: I would literally use the rain to draw the dark lord nigh so that I could then take it off and say look him for something and then I would take out my sword which is in the studio and just prepare to.
02:12:31.008 --> 02:12:39.461
[SPEAKER_01]: To do battle and I would die, you know, there's no way I'm coming out of that on top But I think it'd be a great way to go like it'd be it.
02:12:39.661 --> 02:12:42.926
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like You can't go I was stupid.
02:12:42.966 --> 02:12:46.912
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, yeah, well, no, I guess you cook because it is really stupid But you couldn't be like that.
02:12:46.972 --> 02:12:47.613
[SPEAKER_01]: Do one brave.
02:12:48.475 --> 02:12:52.020
[SPEAKER_01]: I would use it to just test and hopefully prove my bravery
02:12:52.928 --> 02:12:54.491
[SPEAKER_01]: So, that's what I would do with the ring.
02:12:54.511 --> 02:12:56.194
[SPEAKER_01]: I put it on and just wait for Sarah on to come.
02:12:57.176 --> 02:12:57.877
[SPEAKER_01]: She's, whoops.
02:12:58.618 --> 02:13:01.984
[SPEAKER_01]: Wait for Sarah on to show up and then just do battle.
02:13:02.545 --> 02:13:07.674
[SPEAKER_01]: And it might literally be two hits, him swinging at me and me hitting the ground.
02:13:08.316 --> 02:13:11.301
[SPEAKER_01]: Or, um, how old how's it go?
02:13:11.321 --> 02:13:14.667
[SPEAKER_01]: Two hits, him hitting me, you hitting me.
02:13:16.250 --> 02:13:16.933
[SPEAKER_01]: me hitting the ground.
02:13:16.973 --> 02:13:17.415
[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's three.
02:13:18.620 --> 02:13:20.266
[SPEAKER_01]: You hitting me, me hitting the ground.
02:13:20.507 --> 02:13:20.788
[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
02:13:21.110 --> 02:13:24.403
[SPEAKER_01]: It might just be those two hits, but worth it, I think.
02:13:26.189 --> 02:13:26.549
[SPEAKER_01]: worth it.
02:13:26.930 --> 02:13:27.630
[SPEAKER_01]: It's hypothetical.
02:13:27.650 --> 02:13:30.533
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's not going to happen, you know, but I think that's what I would do.
02:13:30.793 --> 02:13:33.055
[SPEAKER_01]: And I think it's awesome that as we just creep on me.
02:13:34.476 --> 02:13:36.458
[SPEAKER_01]: It's cute.
02:13:36.478 --> 02:13:44.065
[SPEAKER_01]: It's nice to know that he loves me and that like it goes beyond just the ruse of us being a friend for a podcast.
02:13:44.105 --> 02:13:49.489
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we thought it would have great financial grain grain dingus.
02:13:50.130 --> 02:13:52.112
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so here's this week's strawberries with cream.
02:13:52.292 --> 02:13:55.875
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not very creative
02:13:55.855 --> 02:14:02.564
[SPEAKER_01]: I usually get inspired like wondering what as is going to say, and I knew that wouldn't be the case directly this time.
02:14:02.724 --> 02:14:05.488
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's, again, it's kind of cheap.
02:14:05.508 --> 02:14:09.313
[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of crafting in this chapter and a lot of smithying.
02:14:10.074 --> 02:14:11.396
[SPEAKER_01]: And so I thought it might be kind of interesting.
02:14:11.476 --> 02:14:17.644
[SPEAKER_01]: Like if you could learn to smithy one thing, we're learn how to craft even one thing.
02:14:19.287 --> 02:14:19.727
[SPEAKER_01]: What would it be?
02:14:20.188 --> 02:14:20.648
[SPEAKER_01]: And I have two.
02:14:20.989 --> 02:14:25.575
[SPEAKER_01]: I have two that's kind of like a, you know, basic white boy answer.
02:14:26.872 --> 02:14:27.573
[SPEAKER_01]: This is that one.
02:14:28.494 --> 02:14:31.657
[SPEAKER_01]: I would love to like make swords to learn how to forge swords.
02:14:32.298 --> 02:14:34.340
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that would just be, and to do it well.
02:14:34.760 --> 02:14:37.503
[SPEAKER_01]: Not to just be like, yeah, here's an era of high blade.
02:14:37.823 --> 02:14:40.927
[SPEAKER_01]: It's pretty basic even though those are sick.
02:14:41.387 --> 02:14:51.378
[SPEAKER_01]: That would not be anything to untouch your horn about, but Or not to your horn about, but like to be able to go.
02:14:51.518 --> 02:14:53.740
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm going to make and a real no problem.
02:14:55.829 --> 02:14:57.351
[SPEAKER_01]: and then be actually able to pull it off.
02:14:57.471 --> 02:14:58.473
[SPEAKER_01]: That'd be amazing.
02:14:58.813 --> 02:15:01.998
[SPEAKER_01]: And to have like a four-jot here in Amanda, which is perfect.
02:15:02.198 --> 02:15:09.508
[SPEAKER_01]: I know that Chad and Ez have talked about that in the past, Chad, my cousin, and I could totally see it actually be kind of cool.
02:15:12.713 --> 02:15:14.516
[SPEAKER_01]: But then my other one would be quilting.
02:15:15.617 --> 02:15:25.431
[SPEAKER_01]: I was telling Elena about this and my family all knows that I would love to quilt some day, to learn how to quilt.
02:15:27.132 --> 02:15:27.653
[SPEAKER_01]: Always have.
02:15:28.875 --> 02:15:29.917
[SPEAKER_01]: I've always found it fascinating.
02:15:30.097 --> 02:15:31.941
[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's a like a beautiful art form.
02:15:32.261 --> 02:15:37.030
[SPEAKER_01]: You find a quilt that's like an absolute work of art.
02:15:37.250 --> 02:15:38.332
[SPEAKER_01]: You're like, to what?
02:15:38.993 --> 02:15:39.755
[SPEAKER_01]: How did they do this?
02:15:41.077 --> 02:15:42.259
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe even, you know, I'll go.
02:15:42.319 --> 02:15:44.062
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll do a third to top three.
02:15:44.743 --> 02:15:46.727
[SPEAKER_01]: I would love to be able to make clothes.
02:15:48.327 --> 02:15:49.609
[SPEAKER_01]: I think fashion isn't credible.
02:15:50.069 --> 02:15:50.830
[SPEAKER_01]: I love fashion.
02:15:51.271 --> 02:15:52.372
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying I'm fashionable.
02:15:52.392 --> 02:15:57.319
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what I like, and to be able to craft stuff like that on your own.
02:15:57.379 --> 02:15:59.642
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so here you go.
02:15:59.682 --> 02:16:08.754
[SPEAKER_01]: Mary right now her brother Ron Hook makes his he's like making clothes like designing clothes now and making them and they're sick.
02:16:10.015 --> 02:16:10.636
[SPEAKER_01]: They're beautiful.
02:16:11.918 --> 02:16:15.162
[SPEAKER_01]: I would love to learn how to do that I think.
02:16:15.142 --> 02:16:15.643
[SPEAKER_01]: someday.
02:16:15.723 --> 02:16:17.186
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe in another life, you know.
02:16:17.767 --> 02:16:21.313
[SPEAKER_01]: So as if you could learn how to craft one thing or smithy.
02:16:21.794 --> 02:16:22.956
[SPEAKER_01]: One thing because you're a Smith too.
02:16:23.036 --> 02:16:23.837
[SPEAKER_01]: We've talked about this.
02:16:24.318 --> 02:16:29.567
[SPEAKER_01]: You're actually a pretty, you know, the Smith branch on your family tree isn't that high up.
02:16:29.667 --> 02:16:30.549
[SPEAKER_01]: It's really close to you.
02:16:31.370 --> 02:16:32.192
[SPEAKER_01]: What would you smithy?
02:16:32.372 --> 02:16:33.093
[SPEAKER_01]: What would you craft?
02:16:35.157 --> 02:16:36.880
[SPEAKER_01]: If he says beer, I'm just going to lose it.
02:16:36.944 --> 02:16:39.407
[SPEAKER_00]: on craft craft beer, you little stinker.
02:16:39.968 --> 02:16:48.719
[SPEAKER_01]: So now it's time for fortnight fair wells, which really, I guess we got to rename the segment again weekly well wishes because we're coming at you weekly.
02:16:50.621 --> 02:16:53.264
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we'll see you next time.
02:16:56.028 --> 02:17:05.179
[SPEAKER_01]: When we hang out with Jake Hodgson, the man,
02:17:06.678 --> 02:17:07.479
[SPEAKER_01]: Varanor.
02:17:08.761 --> 02:17:19.277
