“Are you gay? No? Then f**k off! This is my culture!” George Michael, 2007, to the paparazzi when he was ambushed cruising on Hampstead Heath.
Years later, Hampstead Heath remains one of the world’s most famous cruising areas, but faces some resistance from the locals who claim ‘Sex is legal nowadays take it inside’.
In this interview I sit down with the founder of ‘This Is My Culture Party’, activist, and cruiser Dan Glass to uncover the history of gay cruising and why it still holds cultural importance for many gay and bi men.
Followed by a YouTube exclusive mini-doc where I visit the @thisismycultureparty and hear from attendees, as well as speak to the people who occasionally like to take it outside.
