ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Kevin Hines is a leader in suicide prevention. He is a leader because not only is he a survivor, but his perspective is unique and captivating, and you will definitely want to hear his story.
The year is 2000...you had a mission to end your life by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge, and you’re here today to tell about it.
The goal of today’s podcast is to help others to understand the grief and pain one is suffering as they attempt suicide and what we can do if we are suspecting that someone is in that place
and to take it even further...what we can do as a society to prevent it from happening.
The two most significant aspects of Kevin’s story are:
The bus
The tourist
Some questions we address:
1. Who is at risk for suicide?
2. Do people threaten suicide to get attention?
3. If I ask someone about suicide, does that put the idea in their head?
4. What if someone is posting suicidal messaging in social media?
5. What should I do if I am in crisis or someone I know is?
