Aliana Ziva: Yeah.
Laura West: recorded almost three years ago. so I'm sure a lot has changed for you, or maybe not. I don't know. Maybe things have evolved.
Aliana Ziva: Yeah.
Laura West: I'm curious to hear how it's been for you, we'll talk about, signs from animals 'cause, you connect with the animals, and everything like that. So I'm very excited.
Aliana Ziva: It's just so good to see you. By the way, I love your sweater. I know that you love this season.
Laura West: Thank you. I know I got the ghosts. I love it. Well, this episode's airing in October too, so I'm like, it's perfect
Aliana Ziva: Yeah. I love it. And I listened to all of your solo episodes. I do feel we have a shared passion about this season and how it can really support us in this transition.
Laura West: Yeah. you're in Sweden, right? Denmark, sorry, Denmark.
Aliana Ziva: Denmark. Denmark.
Laura West: how is fall and Halloween? do they do Halloween?
Aliana Ziva: say I didn't grow up with Halloween. I lived in England, like southern part of England when I was eighteen and you know, then it was a thing and I had never seen it before. I had only seen it in like the horror movies from the eighties. that was the only
Laura West: It's very different. You're like, my God, Halloween's coming. I'm so scared. Ha
Aliana Ziva: I didn't grow up with that, but my daughter, she is about to turn thirteen and like her generation, they have seen Halloween here in Denmark and made it their own funny thing and they go trick or treat in the streets.
Laura West: They do why probably like social media and everything like that just connects them.
Aliana Ziva: It's yeah, it has just been over the years, I feel that some of the traditions, you know, we in Europe they adapt some of the American traditions.
Laura West: Hopefully the fun ones.
Aliana Ziva: But there's something about them just dressing up, you know. There's a Danish tradition, but it's in February and it has kind of like faded away, but that was kind of like the same thing. It's another like religion and faith based tradition, but you dress up and you just as a kid go out and have fun and go and knock on people's doors. So I feel that it's just something with you know, the kids here in Denmark. I I feel it's all about them dressing up and just going out there and having fun in the street.
Laura West: Any excuse they can have. what is that holiday called in February?
Aliana Ziva: in Danish it's called festilaun. but it's faith, based and it tradition and it's just been something that I feel that in Denmark there's more like a laid back religion when people have followed some traditions, but still I'm from eighty four and I feel that some of the traditions, over the years They kind of just faded away because it takes a collective for some traditions to just continue. So that's why I
Laura West: yeah.
Aliana Ziva: love listening to your solo episodes because I'm all about following like the seasons of the year and not only the seasons around me, but also follow those seasons that is within me where I feel it's more my true nature that speaks to me and the nature around me that speaks to me. And then we can go out and tag along when some traditions are to follow in a certain way. But we're actually traveling, my family and I, to California here by the end of October. So we will get to experience Halloween in your country.
Laura West: Yay
Aliana Ziva: I believe we will be in Santa Barbara at those days, so we're kinda like Very open to all good ideas about where to go.
Laura West: Okay, so Santa Barbara listeners, please reach out to Aliana, tell her where to go. Yeah. Unfortunately I'm not close enough. Santa Barbara for me is about a three, three and a half hour drive, depending on LA traffic. But it's beautiful.
Aliana Ziva: Yeah, yeah.
Laura West: So when you say like seasons, do you find that the outside season correlates with your internal seasons? So like how you know how fall, right, is sort of starting to wind down, be a little bit more maybe introspective. Not quite like winter, but do you find that you start to follow that as well?
Aliana Ziva: Yeah, I feel that it's not something that I was fully aware of when I was younger, but in my life I do readings on myself all the time and then I bring in my spirit guides and just allow their messages to support me in my seasons, but it's like I cannot escape I felt like saying what is natural to me. So I do feel that there's been a transition for me, like this is me personally, but also checking in on myself and I'm quite the nerd when it comes to having clarity on the way that I feel and my health, like physical health and my mental health. And that's also something that I feel I always lean into when it comes to like the animals wisdom. No matter whether it's animals that is here or in spirit, I always feel that that clarity that I'm being given that it's supposed to really follow not only the way that I feel within myself but also what is going on around me, where I physically am, because Denmark is a country where you will get to experience like the four seasons of the year. And it's it's always about following something I feel that is right outside the door. And when I follow that and pay attention To like every little sign and notch and message that I'm being given. Then I also feel that I can support myself in a lifestyle where I maintain a balance and a centered energy and a grounded energy. And then I just feel that like my mind is always more on board, I felt like saying, when it comes to who I am and the things that I want to do in life. So I don't get like sidetracked when I was younger my mind would take all of these detours, that would be my way of putting it. But I feel that when I follow what is around me and when I follow what is within me, then then there's more alignment of who I am and the way that I feel.
Laura West: Yeah. Now I remember the
Aliana Ziva: Yeah.
Laura West: last time you and I spoke, I think we talked about, tips and how you would recommend to somebody to like do readings for themselves and like how to be introspective. has your practice changed since then?
Aliana Ziva: I will say I've been more attracting people now only with the animals because it's just, you know, what you put out there is what you attract, right? So since we met up the last time I created a community where it's like an ongoing library where people they hang out with me on videos three times a week, you know, I had so much energy in me a few years ago and I really just had to follow that. I felt that there was always a message, always something to be shared and and I've been really doing my teachings now since I met you the last time. I've been hosting so many workshops like online but also physically here in Denmark with horse people but also just a mix of pet parents. So it's It's been some years now just bringing my teachings and it's creating my ongoing library. It's something simple. I needed for myself so I could just put it out there instead of always feeling that it would be like a frustration if I didn't get it out. I guess
Laura West: Builds up inside.
Aliana Ziva: Yeah. so it's just been a lot of teaching. I still do readings, you know, animal readings where I help people. communicate with their animals here and in spirit, but I've really been bringing my own method over the past few years because it's just a calling and it's something that I just had to follow. I would I would a couple of years ago just be like like a wave just there going back and forth. How can I do this? I already created my own method, but I feel that There's so many shifts all the time. And I'm not so into taking master classes and courses myself. I'm listening to podcasts. Like you know, like that's my thing. And being a guest on podcasts, that's also my thing. Like it's nurturing to me to have that in my life where I can always like tap into the energy that I feel is relevant to me in the present moment. So I feel that's what I created in my community that I'd could always just share something that was just present and in the moment, like following also collective energy of what the animals want to share as a collective as well.
Laura West: Yeah, I love that. I did take some classes, but I'm like, I'm not spending thousands of dollars on this, right?
Aliana Ziva: Mm-hmm.
Laura West: because I I don't know. I I feel like there's a lot of good good teachings out there that don't require you to to spend an arm and a leg to learn how to communicate. And I like that you've learned your own method. I think that's important because not everybody's gonna read or do this work the same.
Aliana Ziva: that's also why I wanted something simple to be available for people because when I started to bring my teachings in that format, it can always shift. It's just for me it was just all about having something that is simple where I feel I can pick up my phone and it doesn't require that much of me where I can just share everything that I'm called to share and people they can just listen to me for five minutes in their kitchen. Because it's like shorter videos that is just always bringing people something where it's like having something on repeat and for me it's just all about really inviting fellow animal mediums into my community because I I I just am a firm believer that people when they come and hang out with me, that they're already a medium, an animal medium themselves. So for me it's not about taking a class, this is not about studying, but it's just To discover more of what's already there and have the confidence to at least practice this with your own animals, whether they're here and spirit. So I just saw the younger version of myself, I'm forty two now, so it was like the woman in her mid twenties that went out there and spent this amount of money on every education and every
Laura West: Yep, yep.
Aliana Ziva: class, and whether it was online or, four days in Copenhagen here in Denmark, I spent all of the money that I earned in the beginning when I started, my own business in my mid twenties. I've had my own business for fifteen years this year. So I feel that that experience that you just invest in yourself and then you know, I followed an old way of thinking when I started my business because I didn't have any in my you know community here that had their own business I only had an uncle that has had his own company since he was young as well so that was kind of like the only one I grew up with that I allowed myself to be inspired by so I feel that today we can just have so many people that can just start you know just from day one. practicing this with their own animals and then within a few weeks they can start even getting paid from talking to a friend's dog. I want it to be that simple.
Laura West: Well, I th I think of everyone appreciates simplicity. okay, so I I wanna ask you about some stories that you can share. But before we do, you know, you're talking about creating videos and things. How can people connect with you to see those videos, to catch up with you, to follow you and stay connected with you?
Aliana Ziva: They can just go to my website, Aliana the Medium, and in there they can also read more about what the community is about and what you can expect. So for me it's more about just having a place that is sacred. I show up through the videos, but for me I'm just all about that people can check in and be there for one month, and if one month is just what they needed. Then that's it. You know, like that's just what I love that it's a space where people can always check in and check out. It doesn't require anything of you just implementing a few simple practices I will be the annoying one that will show up and say, Hey, did you do this since last week? so for me it's like reminding people of really practicing something on a daily basis, on a weekly basis, and the more that People they do this, then they trust their animals, they trust what they receive. So that's all on my website. Yeah. Yeah.
Laura West: I agree. It's the practice. Cause you can study theory all day long and study about other people's experiences. But until you actually sit in the power and connect with, you know, spirit, whether it's animal or person or whatever, that's where the true learning is, is the practice.
Aliana Ziva: Yeah,
Laura West: so I wanna dive in, Aliana, and share if you have stories of some pretty profound connections that you've had for your clients and their animals, whether in physical or in spirit, some good validating stories that they are communicating with us, that they're fully aware of what's happening with us, again, whether in physical or spirit.
Aliana Ziva: say if we can just go back over summer because that is like fresh in my memory i've been
Laura West: Yeah.
Aliana Ziva: you know i've been like helping people on zoom video calls if it's you here with me then i just need the name of your dog you know and then there's a conversation that we can dive into i love that there's always something that is relevant for our animals that is physically in our life There's always something that is on top of their list that they want us to know, something that they are just already sharing with us on a daily basis. But like over summer here, it always has a way of coming to me when it comes to those animals where the vet has already been there, you know, and there's already been a plan coming from the vet. But there's still something that is off. I have seen so many horses, so many dogs over this summer I've been like the last pit stop, you know, before making a decision whether you wanna go all in and try to invest more time and energy in a healing journey or if it's meant to Take place in another path where it's all about making a transition into the afterlife. And I've really seen that a lot over, summer. That's just to say that I've really seen quite a lot where it's all about a healing journey or about making a transition into the afterlife. there's so many animals in spirit these days that are asking for a light to be lit. I'm bringing him no, I'm just I gotta find my words here. Because I
Laura West: Yeah.
Aliana Ziva: I know that it's very important. And when you ask a question like that, I feel all of them, all of those that I've met over summer. Tell my story, But the one horse that is like really standing
Laura West: You're like, tell my story, tell my story.
Aliana Ziva: out, she knew that she had experienced everything here on earth. And her human already knew that this was something that she had shared with her. And when she came to me, she wanted to make sure that she was making the right decisions. And now she is a horse that is with us in spirit. And that is just something that is natural in my everyday life as an animal medium. But then there's like the other animals, a dog that I met over summer as well, he had a tendon injury on one of his hind legs. and it had already been confirmed on a scan and they did x-rays and he had been on medicine. the chiropractor had been there and they work with homeopathy. Like this is a dog that is being used like in in the shows where he's you know being yeah he's being showed for yeah
Laura West: They invest a lot into him, yes.
Aliana Ziva: they really do you know and but he was like limping on his right hind leg and in moments like that even though a dog mom has invested all of this time and all of this money and they could see that this tendon was injured and they had dealt with that and you know brought him all of these modalities when it comes to healing, then he was still limping, you know, like there was still a problem, even though they took this journey because they also believed that he will heal from this. And a dog like him, and that's what I love about those animals, especially meeting a dog like him, is that he's so strong. You know, he is very aware that he will heal from this. But his main reason was not the tendon because the tendon was healing. You know, they could see that on the scans that it was improving with everything that they were doing. But he was having like an impingement of a nerve running from his third and fourth vertebrae, like in his spine, in the lumbar part of the spine. And it's and it's like a tension there. And every time he would, you know, move his right hind leg forward, then there was a pain. And that was causing him to do that limping. And sometimes when he was running you couldn't really see it, but then when he would slow down, you could see it. So even something like that, some people they would just give up and say we tried everything. But his dog mom really believed in his full recovery. And now they could go back, and get more chiropractors and they've been using acupuncture, you know, going to see a vet that is allowed to practice that here in Denmark. right now he's doing better and there's still some tension, but he's not limping anymore. So that's just some of the stories of like yeah this summer there's more but I feel that what is validating in this is that yes there's an injury but there's still something that we see. There's still like a a problem that we are observing when a dog is moving. And so for me it's like bringing in those messages coming from the animals that is relevant to their overall well being if that makes sense. And then we follow that path that feels right for them and in this case like the dog mom or the horse mom over here. Yeah.
Laura West: Wait, so the dog was able to tell you about the back? my
Aliana Ziva: Yeah. Yeah.
Laura West: gosh. And that specific? wow. Did
Aliana Ziva: Yeah. Yeah.
Laura West: she then go to the vet with that information?
Aliana Ziva: Yes, she did. the the
Laura West: did they find anything?
Aliana Ziva: Yeah, the vet is also the one doing like the chiropractics. you cannot see this on a scan, but here in Denmark it's also the vets that are allowed to do the acupuncture. So with that combined, you know, the chiropractics and also the acupuncture, like that combined. fixed it because it showed up, they had not seen the chiropractor that many times, but they just followed like several times combining acupuncture and then seeing the chiropractor. And then yeah, in a few weeks times it improved and he could go back and he's not showing right now, but he is, you know, walking and they're doing, all of this training at home as well. My client has plenty of space. and he can run free. But it's still like there was this big tension there that he was just showing me and saying that it's like a nerve that runs out. So it was like a big problem in in the muscle that also happened when he got injured. So it's kinda like, you know, it it goes back to to the injury that already happened, but it was like another problem that also occurred after, the tendon. injury. So it's
Laura West: Yeah.
Aliana Ziva: so it's like sometimes we can go into details, but I can still be surprised how much insight that they have about how they feel, their health and
Laura West: Yeah.
Aliana Ziva: even how an injury happened and what's the problem now if we already did all of these things for him to feel better.
Laura West: Yeah. So I I did acupuncture on our last dog, Cody, our last black lab, because he became paralyzed in his hind legs. And
Aliana Ziva: Yeah.
Laura West: I took him to the vet and they were like, you know, probably best to put him down. I'm like, no, I didn't feel that way. I feel like we could do more.
Aliana Ziva: Yeah. Yeah.
Laura West: and so we did. We took him to like a one of those alternative therapy places where he did get the acupuncture. He got like the electrolysis treatment where we put like pulses through his spine and he did water therapy and everything and he started walking again. So I know like this acupuncture and everything does work on animals
Aliana Ziva: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Laura West: as well.
Aliana Ziva: And then it you also follow what felt right because there's
Laura West: Yes.
Aliana Ziva: when we follow something that feels right, often it is because our animals they already shared with us that they need something to recover, but but it's always my experience that they do know if they will recover if they will feel
Laura West: Yeah.
Aliana Ziva: better. To some extent, because also my experience communicating with dogs is that like they will know that they can heal to some extent. Because sometimes they will feel very content with an injury that all of the sudden is healed. Let's say there's still some some scar tissue and you know the dog needed a surgery. Like there's such a great knowing when it comes from them in in them knowing exactly how much that they can recover and how much they can heal. So I feel
Laura West: Mm-hmm.
Aliana Ziva: like sometimes it's a just like a natural stop in their healing journey. And a dog is so good at just like adapting and accepting that this is my reality now. If they know that they have really healed in the way that they can.
Laura West: so when you say that, as the owner of our pets, we can pick up on if we feel like this is something they can recover from or not. And then you have clients that go to you for validation that they're making the right choice, whether it's continue with treatment or, you know, help them cross over. So with that said, are there maybe some words that you can give to the owners who, you know, maybe don't have a means to connect with a medium to help them make that decision more specifically with pets crossing over. I've had to cross over a few in my life. And I know it can be really hard when you're like, am I doing the right thing? And then there could be regrets afterwards, like, did I do enough before we made that decision? so if you can share from your experience working with those animals and those clients, whether it's you know, some commonalities that you find amongst them that other people can take with them when they're having to make those decisions or reflect back on those decisions that they made. and just maybe some comfort in that area.
Aliana Ziva: Yeah, because my experience is that when it's animal that is about to make a transition into the afterlife, like they know that they're being called home for. Like it's just something that is very direct and honest when you communicate with animals that are experiencing that pull. And every animal has a certain way of explaining this in in words but also it comes with an energy that we can relate to. so natural that all of these questions they appear and they show up. But the animals they know in that defining moment that they know that it's time, then they don't have any questions. It's a path that they just feel like in their instincts that they are about to take. and it doesn't matter whether it's like I meet horses and dogs and cats every week. and that is like the majority of the animals that I communicate with on a weekly basis. And it doesn't matter whether it's a cat or a dog or a horse that I've met, like when they're being called home for, they know. So right now I'm talking about those animals where it's, you know, illness, where it's their senior years. Or all of a sudden they've been exposed to trauma to some extent, you know, where there's still time for us to be connected to them and and have that timing, whether it's three weeks or a few days, to feel and you will check in on ourselves whether it's the right decision and we can still have that time to communicate with them because sometimes you know it can also happen and it goes just quickly. When I'm being brought in, it's always when there's still time to feel whether you are making the right choice or not. But what people can always do themselves is that if they feel this within themselves and they're still experiencing all of these questions that show up, then I will say, you don't have to hire a medium to be in those moments with your animals. You can Create a list with all of your questions. And there will be a few questions that will really just stand out. I feel I have to share this with people because during a release with all of your questions and you go with the questions that you feel drawn to the most, then you can really bring out your pen and ask your animals just one. question at a time. Just focus on the name of your animal and choose to really spend time with them where you know you have an hour or two to just be with them and hang out with them. Because when something is going on, then there's extra time that we have to spend with them often and there's extra care when we know that eventually it will go down this road. But those moments so So people can feel a bit more ready. We can never be 100% ready to make the decision. You know, the never. That's my own experience as well. But we can take those moments and really ask them those questions that are on the top of our mind, top on our list, because they will respond to us in that moment. And my experience is no matter how much pain that they're in, they will still speak from their heart of who they really are and bring us that clarity so we can feel more alignment in making a choice. So that is something everyone can do because when they eventually have crossed over and made this transition into spirit, then they will show up in a new way. And there will be no more instincts present. Then it will be only 100% a conversation that is coming from a place of love. And then the clarity can come in a new way where we receive everything that we need to hear. Whereas before they cross over, then it's more honoring the last moments that we get to spend with them. And we get that defining clarity that we need so we can continue to move forward just feeling a little lighter in making a decision,
Laura West: In your practice, have you ever come across pets that have reincarnated into the same family?
Aliana Ziva: Yeah, that's my own experience with my own animals. Yeah.
Laura West: Really? Ha.
Aliana Ziva: in a year and a half we said goodbye to two horses and a golden retriever, our three boys. And that was
Laura West: A lot of
Aliana Ziva: yeah, it was. It was back in nineteen and and twenty and all three of them they told me that it was time. Like two of our horses, they were seniors. and came into our life, when they were seniors already.
Laura West: Mm.
Aliana Ziva: so there were the years that they had here with us. there was extra TLC all the time, with what they had been going through in their life and with what they were facing when they came into our life. Our dog was young, he was just five. He got cancer and he told us that and it was like a quick process over two months where I knew that we shouldn't do any treatments. And the vet wanted to do a new scan like four months later. But but he knew like this was his last time. And he just wanted the last time here on earth for him to just be together with us and just receive the healing that I was able to give him. And it was the same with our two horses. they told me what was wrong and they told me what they wanted, the last month of their life. The one horse got cancer as well and the pony that we had, he had a heart that just got more and more weak. and it was all planned. Like my two horses, they planned how they wanted to leave. They said everything that they wanted and we got to create that space for them and and just follow them until they took their last breath. But I will say that the horses, I felt I had time and I had seen it coming and I felt that when you take in seniors in your life you value like every moment. With my dog, emotionally I feel that I was, robbed from all those years that that I felt
Laura West: Yeah.
Aliana Ziva: that we you know that we were to spend together. And when I came home that day after he crossed over, I was just screaming on the floor, laying in his bed that you like you gotta come back because as soon as he crossed over, I could see him as a light standing on the floor and with my own animals I can hear the voices as soon as they cross over. And with him I said, you gotta come back. I cannot Like the three of you leaving in such a short time, like I I I gotta at least have you come back. that's what I said to Vegas, that was his name in my golden retreat. And in nine months time I communicated with him, I saw him, dealt with my grief through journaling, like writing down all of our conversations. I started to listen to his purpose with me, but I I just I put it out there all the time that I need you to come back. And then in nine months he got quiet. He stopped showing up, stopped talking, and I couldn't reach him anymore. And a few weeks later I went out to help a woman with her horses and she was fostering some kittens. And as soon as I saw a little kitten there and on the kitchen floor, I picked her up. That was back in twenty twenty. Picked her up, fell down on my knees and Just received the same
Laura West: Dejo.
Aliana Ziva: love, same voice, like that was him coming back and then your mind is doing tricks on you in that moment. But within my heart I just knew I just knew that it was him that came back in the in the form of a grey kitten called Rosa.
Laura West: Well, I love that you share that story for several reasons. One, even though you're a medium, you still grieve, right? We still grieve the loss of those in the physical. I think that that's huge. and two, you show that you can still communicate, but how do you keep your emotions from sort of blocking or keeping you clear?
Aliana Ziva: Yeah. I always feel that I've kinda like been in my own
Laura West: Mm.
Aliana Ziva: book camp because I I remember when Leo, my horse, when he passed away, he was like first we had to say goodbye to our pony and then Leo, my horse, he was a quarter horse. he was my soulmate in that way where I will never be able to explain that relationship that I had with him for six years he was like in my life and I saw him on a picture in a sales ad I was looking for a horse and when I saw that picture of him when he came into my life he spoke to me through the picture and I'm just like going back I just my previous life like that was just him entering my life with such a strong presence and he helped me to remember so many things, you know, that I needed to remember. And he was always the one that would carry me. I could explore everything, you know, in life with him by my side. So when he crossed over, I feel like I had this piece of my heart that was just ripped. You know, it was just ripped apart and thrown away. And for months I would just share my emotions here at home with my husband and my daughter, but there was so much grief within me, within my heart, within my chest, within my throat. Like I I didn't know how to express myself. I didn't know how to process all of this. So that's where I started journaling and like documenting all of my conversations with Leo. And I remember within the first year. of journaling and really just throwing all of our conversations into my journal. Then I saw this circle where women and men they would gather and you would be guided with the drums and there was like a fire and this was like an a circle that took place over 12 hours. And I just knew that I had to attend that circle and go into the meditation and listen to the drums. And that day when I was laying there, he stepped forward and I saw him fully around the fire, like in the beginning of the circle. And when we walked away from the circle, we were meant to take a walk around the forest just on our own and then come back, and then there would be singing around the fire in the woods. I didn't know these people, but it felt like a tribe that I was meant to meet that day, but we brought some things and we could put it in the fire if we felt like it and I did bring some of his hair and I had brought some of his things and I had written down a little note where I really felt I had to express my gratitude towards him. That day I dropped to my knees and allowed myself to really cry it out. in front of all of these women and men that were standing up and singing in a circle and they just placed a hand on my shoulders and just allowed me to just have that moment and really cry it all out because I felt like I could scream. You know, all those months I felt I could scream but but I couldn't get it out. And I do live here in the open meadow in the countryside. So I can go outside and scream and no one will hear it. Like I have that space where I am But it was in that moment together with other people that I didn't know where I needed that moment to just cry it all out because I felt it was also a a cry for him to come back. And ever since he's just been my strongest spirit guide in my life, since that moment.
Laura West: that's that is beautiful. Yeah, I remember when my two dogs passed. it was rough, even though I felt like it was the right thing to do what we were doing, you know, with
Aliana Ziva: Yeah.
Laura West: with helping them cross over and everything. But I think I shared a post about that, that even though, we're mediums and we, connect for other people all the time and have vivid visitations from our own loved ones, it doesn't take that pain away of the physical crossing. Even to have that understanding that they're still there, it's just different, but it's the different that's hard.
Aliana Ziva: Yeah, it is for me. I can still get overwhelmed. I will say the past two years, since summer of twenty four, that's where I felt that our relationship, especially the one that I have with Leo in spirit, that it shifted. And he said to me that you should know that me and everyone else that we have a purpose with you. I already knew that, but the summer of twenty-four, I was ready to receive his purpose with me. Like the other years I was still dealing with my own grief. And I was still like allowing them to be present in spirit in my life. For me, it's not when it's my own animals or family members, you know, that that passed away. they are allowed to be here and they are allowed. To share everything that they want to share with me. Like they're always coming from a place of love. So I do know when they do show up and I see them and they sometimes make funny things around the house and and when I really pay attention and listen to their voices, because that's my number one. That is to hear voices. You know, it's always something that is coming from outside of my mind when I hear their voices. But it wasn't until like summer of twenty-four that I was fully ready to receive that purpose and And since then it it has become like a a more fun relationship that I share with them, especially Leo, because he has taught me over the past two years, and this is actually not something that I've helped clients with, because it's something that has just been my sacred thing to do. But I have really received not only his purpose, but I've also received like life lessons and he's Bringing in messages about everything in my life, even certain dates to be aware of. And he's sharing with me that from this date until this date, then this is your life lesson and you should use this in everything in life. So it's like I feel that our relationship, you know, it has gotten deeper, and I still explore my relationship with him like when he was here, because I discover more magic in this life if I embrace everything that he he shares with me.
Laura West: So for somebody who maybe doesn't have that ability yet to have of such a communicative relationship with their past animals or living animals, what are some other signs or ways that our animals communicate with us, maybe for more of the everyday person?
Aliana Ziva: I will say over the years I've really shared with many of my clients that writing down the messages that they want to share with us on a weekly basis is really something that is helping people to connect in a very simple way. And I've just over the years invited so many people to just write down their name. and share the mantra, my heart is open to you, I am open to receive. And when we do that, then there is a message in that moment that we need to hear. that is one thing that we can do, but asking the questions is where I feel that we get validation, you know, in another way. And I feel that when we ask the question, like, how do you show up? Like how do you reveal yourself to me? How will I know that it's you? How do you look like now? Is there something that you shared with me over the past two days? Was that you the other day that threw that leaf into my kitchen and it was right there on the floor when I went to buy the coffee the other day there was this big leaf inside the bakery. Was that you? You can hear how Leo shows up in my life as well. He's the leaf in my life. That single leaf that has a way of showing up in all the most funny places. Like, how did that leaf get in here? So
Laura West: Yeah. My grandma does leaves for me. Yeah. Yeah. Random.
Aliana Ziva: it's just she does. Yeah. Yeah. I even got a tattoo from a woman. in San Diego actually that was in Copenhagen and she does
Laura West: No way.
Aliana Ziva: yeah, she does tattoos of animals and pets, I got my horse further up here as well, but there's a leaf here on my arm now and then I I feel I can always place my hand there and then I know that we are connected still. But asking those questions is really something that is so simple because we are all different in the way that we receive. So like writing down a message is something everybody can do. my experience is if people at least do this for seven days, then you get curious about what you will receive the next day. It's kinda like having, the best post-its, you know, like stickers on your fridge and If you do that for seven days, then you become more curious of hey, what will she or he, you know, share with me the next time? But if we ask those direct questions, just like me hanging out here with you being Laura and I'm Aliana, it can be in that same space, like hey Laura, Where are you getting your pumpkin spice in the States? Because I know that you love that as well. So we can communicate
Laura West: Ha
Aliana Ziva: with our animals and spirit on the same level and and know that that it will only be you that is aware of how they show up. But then the more clarity we get to some of those questions, then more will just be discovered with our relationship with them. And I feel that now it can be fun. Like now I can hang out with my animals that passed away and actually have fun in life with them when they bring me also very specific things, also in the material world. Like they bring me things.
Laura West: So I was wondering, Aliana, now of course if it doesn't resonate, it's totally fine. But I've got Thor here and I've got two labs in spirit. I was
Aliana Ziva: Yeah. Yeah.
Laura West: wondering if any of them had a message,
Aliana Ziva: can we speak to Thor first? he he wants to speak first. And
Laura West: Not surprised.
Aliana Ziva: and and he would love for me to like greet him for the king that he is. And and he r really wants me to acknowledge you for being who you are. And everything that you do for people. He sees that side of you. Like this is Thor being connected to his emotions. And when it's his emotions, then he's just showing me like a full picture of his physical body. And I see his heart, I see his stomach, and I see his spleen. Like all on the left side of his body. This is just something that he wants me to share because he also knows that this is a space. where people are all into he doesn't know what spirituality is, but he knows that this is a space where there is room for emotions. And and he sees that in people because what he is experiencing within himself, he's like showing me when there is like a connection from the heart to the stomach to the spleen, then you are like very connected to your own emotions. Then you feel safe, you feel balanced. And you feel like the essence of who you are. And he knows that you invite in people into this space where emotions are being shared. What he wants you to know, because this is just very important. I feel like I'm raising my finger here. This is very important. But
Laura West: Ha
Aliana Ziva: sometimes you invite in people here that are not completely balanced within their hearts and their stomachs and their spleens. Because he sees that in people as well. So when there is an anxiety, when there is a fear, when there is a stress, then he's just showing me if it's people that is like physically in your home, then he can relate to this. It's just very important for him to share this with you. Because when there is guests coming over and there can be the smell of stress, there can be the smell of anxiety it can be built up in a room, you know, if there's people there and two of them had a bad day. Like that's something that he would smell, and then people they can talk like from that place within themselves. But that is still something that he can relate to because it's present and it's something that he just smells on people. In his world, it's not a problem when people they are there. But when you and I we sit here, I feel that there's no distance between you and I. I don't feel that there's any oceans between you and I. But when it comes to Thor, then he feels when you sit here with people on this screen, then when there is fear and stress and to some extent that anxiety present, then he doesn't know how to deal with it. And that
Laura West: Mm.
Aliana Ziva: is something that sometimes he feels a worry within himself and then it becomes like an emotional, not physically, but an emotional reaction within himself because he wants to do something. He wants to show up and do a sit and look up at people and tilt his head a little to the left because he knows when he does that, even to you tilting his head. That's his way of showing affection. That's his way of saying, I see you, like I see that in you. Let's go outside, let's take a walk. And when we go out and we hang out in nature with that beautiful frequency, because he feels the frequency in nature of where you are. And then when you come back, then in his world, it's fixed, it's balanced.
Laura West: Mm.
Aliana Ziva: But when it's people that is in this space, he wants to do that. He wants to sit there. He wants to raise his head, tilt his head, and say, Hey, I see you. I I know that it's there. But when it's something that is between you and someone else, and he's not like fully in on the conversation, then sometimes he feels that he takes on that energy. And it drains in him a bit. So when it's like late afternoon, and if you've had conversations here on the screen, he can feel a bit tired. But it's not himself, it's because of people that is hanging out with you here on screen. So in his world, it's not a problem, but it's something that he picks up on. So what he would love from you is that every time before you Turn on the screen here and you start a conversation with someone, it doesn't matter who it is, but you just start a conversation before you do that. Then you just look at him and say that this space it's fully protected. This space it's just like the nature on our walks. And then he says that it will put up an energy that is so protective of you and him. And then he can just rest and not really be bothered about what is going on here because then it's more on the human level.
Laura West: Good. Yeah, I don't want it to affect him.
Aliana Ziva: but that's like the emotional side of him. Really
Laura West: Yeah.
Aliana Ziva: the emotional side of him. Because then there's also him being him with his personality. if he could just have you to himself and you could be outdoors, like I I felt like saying at least like 67% of the time and not inside. Then, like, that's his whole world. And being together with you and the entire family. He loves when all of you are together. Like, that's his everything. that's just his everything. All of you, like all in the family. we all have to be included. and then he's just like very protective of children as well. Like, that is just something that. Not to get into details, but he just wants you to know that hey, I'm like he's like an uncle too. Like I'm always watching over children and I'm I'm always having my way of just laying down and looking at them, he says. And just by looking at them, then I'm always protecting them.
Laura West: That's so sweet. I can validate a lot of that. So the being outdoors. Okay. So he does get walks just about every day. But I can tell that he just wants even if it's five minutes of play, like keep away, he likes chase. He's not really big into fetching or retrieving as a retriever, which is funny. but he loves keep away, chase, tug. and I just had that thought yesterday when I was walking him actually that gosh, I really should just give him at least five minutes in the morning. Cause that's really when he has a lot of that energy and wants to play. But, you know, I I do the carpool, I get the kids ready for school, and then I log into work. And so it's kind of like, you know, just stuff that I need to do. and so he has to get Really patient, but I know that he would love that. So I just had that thought yesterday. and then
Aliana Ziva: Yeah.
Laura West: we always say too, we always say, like, Thor is content because the pack is back together, the whole family's here. We always say that. Cause we can
Aliana Ziva: Yeah.
Laura West: like sense it in him. Like he's so happy because the pack is back together. So when you said that, that was very validating.
Aliana Ziva: Yeah, because he has a way of reaching out to you all the time. And sometimes, you know, he's not always connecting with you in the way that he wants to, but the way of doing the sit, he says, and then just looking at you, not tilting the head, because tilting the head is more like I see you, like I know that there's something bothering you. Like that's more him confirming that he already noticed what you noticed as well.
Laura West: Mm-hmm.
Aliana Ziva: But when he just does the sit and he's looking straight up to you and not tilting his head, that is where often he wants something from you, and he wants to do something with you. So that's his way, he says, of using body language, of letting you know that, hey mom, now it's me time, now I You to communicate with me and talk about what I want. But when he's tilting his head, then it's more him validating, confirming that there's something that you noticed that he noticed too. and that can also be something with a neighbor coming over. You know, it doesn't really matter what it is, but if there's something that you noticed and he is noticing something as well, because he's really a dog where he says, You gotta trust what. I see, and when there's something that is not meant to be here, I would love to see that it walks out of the house. but he has a gentle way of of showing it. So
Laura West: Yeah.
Aliana Ziva: so if I'm just not that annoying neighbors, they come to the house, but but it's just he's just really showing me that he can pick up on those energies from people, you know, that that even if it's just like someone that had a bad day or someone that is in a hurry, like it doesn't really belong in in his world. Like he would just
Laura West: Sure,
Aliana Ziva: I'm more happy over here with the way things are. So if someone was
Laura West: I'd be the same.
Aliana Ziva: Yeah, it's always just like someone was walking by with you know, with their chest up and busy heads shaking from side to side. I'm just like if I'm Thor I'm like I just wanna look the other way. I don't want that I don't want that
Laura West: Ha ha ha
Aliana Ziva: entering my home.
Laura West: Yeah, he definitely does that stare when he wants something, for sure. I say
Aliana Ziva: Yeah. Yeah.
Laura West: he's okay, he's looking into my soul because it's like the stare is so deep.
Aliana Ziva: Yeah.
Laura West: Usually it's because it's about mealtime. But he does
Aliana Ziva: Yeah. Yeah.
Laura West: he does want something. So that's validating.
Aliana Ziva: Yeah.
Laura West: I yeah. I appreciate that, Aliana. Thank you so much for doing that for for me. I'm sure Thor's thankful too.
Aliana Ziva: Yeah. he's the dog he says that what he loves to be asked the most is just what do you want? that's just one of the questions that he loves that all of you is asking him. Because then it will be different from you and it will be different from the kids. but it's all the same question, you know. He loves when he's being asked that question because then it's just in the moment and yes, there will be times where I'll just look at you, tilt the head, and then it can also mean that I'm good with us just being here hanging out on the couch because that that feeling of I kinda see like a TV that is turned on, you know, and the entire family is there. If I'm Thor, That's my vibe. Like I just dig that. I just best feeling ever. Because then then
Laura West: Yeah.
Aliana Ziva: then I know that they're there, you know, and then I can scoot over and they can rub me on like like if you can just rub me like between my shoulder blades and right ear, but especially between my shoulder blades and just on the neck and down there and if I scoot more over then you just continue. So I'm just
Laura West: Mm.
Aliana Ziva: like I felt like saying just over autumn here, just watch some T V because like that's that's that's that's just the reality of having you all together.
Laura West: That's what yeah, so like at the end of the day we'll all be like watching a movie or something. That's when he will pop up on the couch and like lay on our laps and just finally relax. So yes, you're right. I love it. I love it, Thor. Good job communicating.
Aliana Ziva: Yeah. Yeah. And he knows I love his name as well. Very Scandinavian name. Yeah.
Laura West: Yeah. It was between that or Loki, but I didn't want to set that tone. I'm like, I don't
Aliana Ziva: Okay.
Laura West: want a god of chaos.
Aliana Ziva: I feel like this is like direct and strong energy Thor. Like
Laura West: Yeah.
Aliana Ziva: very direct. Like there's I w I felt like saying with with Thor in your life, then there's no room for bullshit. I just felt like saying that because
Laura West: Yeah.
Aliana Ziva: that's how I would feel if I was like hanging out with you and your dog when you are walking around with him, there's no room for bullshit. Like you only get to see the most beautiful frequency cold beauty when you're walking around with him.
Laura West: yeah. And he's he's really good with walking. Loves to sniff, which I mean every dog does, but he's a very
Aliana Ziva: Yeah.
Laura West: good boy. So we take him out. He goes on car rides. We try to take him on vacations. He's part of the family. So, you know, he's
Aliana Ziva: Yeah, yeah.
Laura West: always with us. And I'm always home with him because I work from home. So there's always
Aliana Ziva: Yeah. Yeah.
Laura West: somebody, just about always somebody with him. So he's
Aliana Ziva: Yeah.
Laura West: very much loved. I hope he I hope he knows that.
Aliana Ziva: and that's why he wanted to talk about the emotions as well, because he he loved that he's also a part of what you do, you know, and that he has a role in in what you do and and his purpose when you bring in other people, I I felt like just saying in in an online meeting, then he still feels to some extent that he has a role in this because he wants to make sure that as soon as the camera is on and someone else shows up here in his world, you know, it's it's a voice that shows up here. He can hear the voices that shows up here when you're in a meeting. But he just loves that that when you take care of that energy before you press record or you say hi to someone, then he's in in the way that he's present with his calmness. And then he's just showing me that simply by Us hanging out with him, then he is that energy that makes sure that the emotions of the heart, stomach, and spleen, when you hang out with Thor, you feel better, like you feel the energy within yourself. Like there's just peace within your heart, there's peace within your stomach, there's peace within your spleen. I feel it like I sweat just by speaking to him here. Like you get so much warmth. by just speaking to him, but when he's still just resting there in the background, he's still bringing that energy and that's something that he loves, that you know that he brings that energy.
Laura West: Yeah. that's wonderful. Thank you so much. I appreciate that reading for me. I really do.
Aliana Ziva: Just one message from one of your dogs and spirits. I feel like that's
Laura West: please.
Aliana Ziva: I have to highlight that I listened to all of your solo episodes here on your podcast. Like I really enjoyed listening to your solo podcast because you said something that I needed and you said something that I needed to be reminded of. and I know that. Sitting here with you is something that I could do every week and feel so much joy and peace in having conversations with a woman like you because I admire you from who you are and all the work that you do. I really do. I want you to know that. But listening to your solo episodes and you talked about how this season is to you, and you talked about how we can Do some simple things in our everyday life. I was listening to your episodes, over the weeks that they came out while I was just making a meal in the kitchen and my animals in spirit, like they showed up more. Because listening to your solo episode, I really slowed down and I could really feel that. That energy that you bring, you know, I've listened to you and your guests before, but there was something about listening just to your voice and what it is that you do, and how these simple habits can help us to connect to that calmness within ourselves, feel the season that we are in, and then do something simple for us to connect with, let's say, because that's what you said on one of the episodes, that we can connect with our loved ones. And just allow that love to be present and show up in the way that it resonates to us. And that's where I felt like it for me it clicked in the best way and that's my personal experience that I feel that you brought an energy and knowing that your dogs in spirit are with you and guiding you. That is something that they always do and they know that you are aware of that. But the one message is that these solo episodes that you did, that one of your dogs in spirit guided you to do this. Because when you really sat down and recorded these solo episodes, then something shifted within you as well, they said, and you got reminded of this is what he says, of what is most important to you. and I feel that that is his main message is that when you do what is most important to you, then there is something out there that all of us we need to hear, especially when it comes from you and now your dog in spirit as well. But what is most important? Because what is most important now will guide us through this season, this autumn of twenty six, so we can feel I feel like saying got a new handbag in our life now where there's room for more, you know, where what
Laura West: Mm.
Aliana Ziva: is important is something that he will continue to remind you of and then the rest of us can just lean into the energy of that message and move forward with that as well.
Laura West: I appreciate that it's so funny because to me, like that was like a a thought that I was just having. And then you're connecting it to my pups on the other side. I that's like so heartwarming. But you know, sometimes when you've been doing a a show of some sort for so long, you know, maybe you start to feel like the message just kind of starts to sound the same every time. And
Aliana Ziva: Yeah. Yeah.
Laura West: so you start to think like What direction do I want to take the show where I still feel excited to have these conversations, excited to share, you know, whether it's solo or with guests. So lately I have been having those ideas of what do I like? What do I care about? What gets me excited? and so, you know, as you said, I love the seasons. I love fall and I love the the -ber months. And so
Aliana Ziva: Yeah.
Laura West: I had some space. between guests. I was like, I want to record a topic that gets me excited. And so that's where that inspiration came from. So that validates.
Aliana Ziva: Yeah. Yeah. And and I'm I love I'm like when when is the part two of this? But it was just
Laura West: Ha ha ha
Aliana Ziva: for me and I just I wanna talk about my own personal experience just to sum it up that that's what I needed as well. You know, I I needed some solo time and in my solo time I listened to your solos and I'm just like this is what it's all about. and just again sometimes I need that too to just be reminded of how simple things can be in your everyday life and you still get to feel that the beauty is within and the beauty is around us, but shit there's more beauty in this upcoming season. So that yeah it was a reminder that yes it's simple
Laura West: Yeah.
Aliana Ziva: and there's luck.
Laura West: You
Aliana Ziva: all the women out there like you that is experiencing
Laura West: Yeah.
Aliana Ziva: that it can be that simple as well.
Laura West: You're giving me inspiration for another solo episode so thank you. Cause I relate to that too. Cheers to solo time. it's like the best. anyway, Aliana, I want to
Aliana Ziva: Yeah. She has to say all the time. Yeah.
Laura West: thank you so much for your time and for sharing about your amazing story, sharing your energy with listener, and just For the work that you've been doing. I really just want to thank you so much and for being one of my amazing friends. So thank you.
Aliana Ziva: Thank you. I really enjoyed this conversation.
