00:00:01
Speaker 1: Welcome back.
00:00:01
Speaker 2: Australian actor and singer Johnny Ruffo has been farewelled over the weekend in an emotional.
00:00:06
Speaker 3: Memorial Let's Good Tomorial Entertainment Edla Pediforda's with his high pede. It was a beautiful celebration of Johnny's.
00:00:11
Speaker 1: Life by every account it was.
00:00:14
Speaker 4: And three hundred and fifty people there were seating for three hundred and fifty they all got seats. Another three hundred and fifty people stood up and just wanted to be there, So seven hundred people there at Belcata Senior High.
00:00:25
Speaker 1: School for this memorial.
00:00:27
Speaker 4: Bearing her mind, it wasn't a funeral, it was a memorial, so it could afford to be a little bit more upbeat, but of course it's still ultimately can't help but be very sad. And Lynn there, as you see, she did the eulogy and I'm told not a dry eye in the house. She delivered it so beautifully. When we all know her, we know the kind of honest person that she is and wears her heart on her sleeve, and she certainly did that on Saturday, and the family asked her to do it, and she very very happily took that on and his partner Tawney, had been undecided about whether she would speak or not. At the last minute she said, yeah, I'm going to do it. And again not a dry on the house. Beautiful booklet their order of service that they handed out, and it was music and poetry and a beautiful thing.
00:01:12
Speaker 1: But Lynn has gone on to her.
00:01:15
Speaker 4: Instagram and talked about the honor of going and doing that and what it meant to her. That's the cover of the booklet that she put up on our Instagram, and you know, as you can see saying goodbye for now. And the other thing I wanted to make mention of was the family had very specifically requested last week that there'll be no photography or filming inside the venue, even though they were inviting members of the public.
00:01:39
Speaker 1: And I've got to tell you I was wrong.
00:01:40
Speaker 4: I don't say that often, but I was wrong in this case because I said, there's no way knowing they're going to achieve that.
00:01:45
Speaker 1: So I'm so thrilled that seems they did that.
00:01:48
Speaker 4: People did have the decency to respect the family, and there's nothing has emerged from inside the venue itself.
00:01:54
Speaker 2: Yeah, a testament to just how loved I think he was by all, Pete. You've also got an update on Barry Humphrey's state memorial.
00:02:01
Speaker 4: Yes, so we're talking about this last week and the fact that the reports have been that there was this boycott that was taking place by close friends of Barrie's and some family members. Now Emily, one of his daughters, was cited as somebody who was not going to be attending the funeral as a result of Richard Wilkins being appointed as DMC. And as we said last week, you know Richard is a superb MC and you know the event would be in very very good hands. Well, Interestingly, Emily has gone to great lengths to actually contact Richard and say, I have no issue with you whatsoever.
00:02:36
Speaker 1: Other people may I'm not attending.
00:02:38
Speaker 4: It, but only because I have a work commitment in Sri Lanka so I can't get back for it. But she says, my dad would want an event to be bright and sunny, and Richard is absolutely that.
00:02:49
Speaker 1: Ah, that's okay, Pete.
00:02:50
Speaker 3: Now the Fast and Furious movie franchise has been fine?
00:02:54
Speaker 1: Is it?
00:02:54
Speaker 3: Because they were driving up a one way street the wrong way at two hundred and fifty kilometers now through Tokyo.
00:03:00
Speaker 1: Oddly, enough, No, it wasn't. So this is the case of a stunt man.
00:03:04
Speaker 4: So you know, you're working on these movies, you've got to have really good stunt men.
00:03:08
Speaker 1: And a man called Joe Watts had a very severe four eight meters landed on his head.
00:03:13
Speaker 4: It is extraordinary that he was around to even take this legal action against the production company, but he did, and he's now been awarded one point five million Australian dollars. I mean, these were life altering injuries that he's had, which is clearly not good for a stunt man.
00:03:29
Speaker 1: Now, this played out.
00:03:30
Speaker 4: During the filming of the movie Fast and Furious nine, which is being shot in England. It was a hugely successful movie, as they all are. I got to say that Joe unfortunately had to play this out in a British court. Had been in an American court for those severe injuries, I think he would have got a lot more than one point five million dollars. But nonetheless, the production company did admit fault and did pay it out.
00:03:55
Speaker 3: Yeah, and apparently in lighter Fast and Furious news, we understand they're on the way to Australia to film the next show at the Anzac Bridge on ramp.
00:04:03
Speaker 1: A spaghetti junction.
00:04:04
Speaker 2: Yeah, they'll save what's money. They could just use the tragic cams and what we need to come here because there's some pretty fast and furious driving there. Pete Beyonce's done the world. It's been at her premiere of her new Renaissance concert movie What's Happened? Who's Turned Upon?
00:04:20
Speaker 1: Well? Everyone pretty much.
00:04:22
Speaker 4: Yeah, the silver carpet was rolled out and this of course is not just a film version of the concert, but a lot of behind the scenes stuff and yeah, there you can see the Platinum bond has a right Beyonce.
00:04:33
Speaker 1: It seemed to be.
00:04:33
Speaker 4: A silver theme for the whole thing and also a bit of a Destiny's Child reunion as well, because Michelle Williams Kelly Rowland were there on the red carpet as well.
00:04:43
Speaker 1: A whole bunch of.
00:04:44
Speaker 4: The big name music stars of today, including Lizzo, walk the red carpet. So yeah, this is all to do with the hype for the release of the movie on the first December. Later this week they're doing and there's Chris Jenner there and Corey they're doing another one of those later this week in London actually, so no doubt again huge. And the horse Renee is the horse that's used on the tour and Renee was there in the glass cage for the opening as well.
00:05:11
Speaker 1: I don't know who it was.
00:05:12
Speaker 3: There was one Kelly Roland. No one is going up and cuddling Kelly Roland.
00:05:19
Speaker 2: There is a COVID wave again over there to stop anyone getting to look at this.
00:05:26
Speaker 1: It's it's one way to do it. Thank you,
Speaker 1: Welcome back.
