ABOUT THIS EPISODE
We come back to the mic with a message from 2 Chronicles 20 about King Jehoshaphat facing a battle he cannot win on his own. We lean into a simple pattern for real life faith: seek the Lord, pray with honesty, and praise God before you see the victory.
• Jehoshaphat and Judah facing a massive surprise attack
• why the enemy targets what God has blessed
• choosing prayer and fasting over panic
• faith that includes fear but refuses to stay there
• the most honest prayer we can pray when we are stuck
• “But our eyes are upon thee” as a daily way to refocus
• “The battle is not yours, but God’s” as the turning point
• praising in the middle of the storm as an act of faith
• sending singers first and trusting God’s plan
• God setting ambushments and bringing victory without a fight
• keeping our praise when the battle feels bigger than us
So please, please go read that chapter in 2 Chronicles 20.

And now I can give you your host, the Bible talk, Sister Deb Oz.
00:00:57.119 --> 00:00:57.759
Hallelujah.
00:00:58.240 --> 00:00:59.520
Praise the Lord.
00:00:59.840 --> 00:01:00.640
Praise the Lord.
00:01:00.799 --> 00:01:05.359
Man, it feels so good to be back behind the microphone again.
00:01:05.439 --> 00:01:06.560
It feels so good.
00:01:06.799 --> 00:01:07.680
It's been a while.
00:01:07.840 --> 00:01:09.680
Seems like it's been a long time.
00:01:10.239 --> 00:01:15.920
Uh okay, so I think I've got a really, really good message today.
00:01:16.159 --> 00:01:20.159
Uh I really believe this is gonna go out to somebody.
00:01:20.400 --> 00:01:23.519
I believe this is for someone.
00:01:24.079 --> 00:01:30.719
Uh and like the Lord said, him, he that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
00:01:31.040 --> 00:01:41.519
So anyway, uh I'm talking today out of 2 Chronicles, verse 20, or chapter 20.
00:01:41.920 --> 00:01:44.239
And I want to talk to you about a king.
00:01:45.040 --> 00:01:53.359
A king who made all the right decisions, a king who listened to the Lord, and and everything turned out okay.
00:01:53.519 --> 00:01:57.040
King Jehosaphat, okay, let me go back a little bit.
00:01:57.200 --> 00:02:02.000
So King Jehoshaphat was the king of the tribe of Judah.
00:02:02.159 --> 00:02:08.879
Now we know Judah was a ancestral tribe, a prominent tribe of Israel, one of the twelve, right?
00:02:09.039 --> 00:02:10.960
One of the twelve tribes of Israel.
00:02:11.199 --> 00:02:17.520
And he it the Judah was ex it descended from Jacob's fourth son, Judah, right?
00:02:18.080 --> 00:02:24.800
So uh of course they they became the southern kingdom of Judah.
00:02:25.039 --> 00:02:37.759
You know, when uh when God gave the Israelite nation the promised land, each one of these twelve tribes got their own little piece of land when they got there, right?
00:02:37.919 --> 00:02:42.400
Now, of course, this is in the uh Old Testament, and you guys go and read it and find all that out.
00:02:42.479 --> 00:02:44.639
I'm probably there's probably a lot I'm not even saying.
00:02:44.800 --> 00:02:49.599
There's a lot that I'm not even gonna talk about in this chapter because you know what my motto is?
00:02:49.919 --> 00:02:50.960
Go look it up.
00:02:51.120 --> 00:02:52.319
You know what I'm saying?
00:02:52.639 --> 00:03:03.680
Anyway, so um, so according to so according to Chronicles 20, a very massive attack was being planned against the nation of Judah.
00:03:03.919 --> 00:03:14.159
The neighboring nations, which is Moab, the Moab, the Moabites, Amon, which is the Ammonites, Ammonites, and I probably hope Lord forgive me if I'm not saying those right.
00:03:14.400 --> 00:03:21.520
And then, of course, the the uh uh the nation of Seir, Seir, Mount Seir, something like that.
00:03:21.759 --> 00:03:22.719
Hope I'm saying that right.
00:03:22.879 --> 00:03:30.879
Anyway, so uh they joined forces and they were going to come against Judah in a surprise invasion.
00:03:31.120 --> 00:03:32.639
Now there were several reasons.
00:03:32.800 --> 00:03:39.439
I've read up and I I've read up on this, and there were several reasons why they were going to come against Judah.
00:03:39.759 --> 00:03:42.719
One, they wanted to seize the promised land.
00:03:42.800 --> 00:03:47.199
They they wanted to drive Judah out and they wanted to claim the promised land.
00:03:47.520 --> 00:03:50.879
They they wanted to claim the land there.
00:03:50.960 --> 00:03:59.039
Judah, they also they wanted Judah had grown highly prosperous under King Jehoshaphat's rule.
00:03:59.280 --> 00:04:05.199
And so they also wanted the its vast wealth and its its resources.
00:04:05.840 --> 00:04:21.279
And another thing, the reason they wanted to attack Judah was because at that time, when when when these twelve tribes got into the promised land and they split their little, they split their group up, uh, Judah became weak.
00:04:21.600 --> 00:04:22.800
They were weak.
00:04:23.120 --> 00:04:34.079
And so these these these three places, these three, three neighboring nations here, uh, decided that they were going to have a surprise attack.
00:04:34.240 --> 00:04:38.800
So in Chronicles 20, King Jehoshaphat was facing something that he couldn't fix.
00:04:39.279 --> 00:04:41.680
The army was coming and going to come against him.
00:04:41.839 --> 00:04:48.639
And instead of pretending that everything was going to be okay, that everything was fine, he went straight to God.
00:04:48.959 --> 00:04:54.399
And you know, sometimes after he did that, something really incredible happened.
00:04:54.959 --> 00:04:58.560
God told them that they didn't have to fight this battle themselves.
00:04:58.800 --> 00:05:05.439
In 2 Chronicles 20, verse 15, God said, the battle is not yours, but God's.
00:05:06.000 --> 00:05:13.519
And before they ever saw victory, uh, well, before they ever saw victory, they praised God.
00:05:14.000 --> 00:05:25.279
And see, sometimes people, this is what this is about, is faith, having faith, seeking God, and above any and all, praising his name.
00:05:25.600 --> 00:05:28.879
And so before they even saw victory, they praised God.
00:05:29.040 --> 00:05:32.800
And sometimes you you have to praise God before you get the answer.
00:05:33.120 --> 00:05:37.040
See, praise isn't only for ever when everything's going right.
00:05:38.000 --> 00:05:41.199
Praise isn't when everything's all hunky dory.
00:05:41.439 --> 00:05:43.120
That's not all it is.
00:05:43.680 --> 00:05:46.399
Praise is for the middle of the battle.
00:05:46.879 --> 00:05:48.560
Praise is when you're scared.
00:05:48.800 --> 00:05:50.800
Praise is when you don't understand.
00:05:51.279 --> 00:05:54.240
Praise is when you don't know what tomorrow holds.
00:05:54.879 --> 00:05:58.800
Praise is when the enemy is bigger than you.
00:05:59.839 --> 00:06:03.759
And that's what King Jehosaphat was going through right now.
00:06:04.480 --> 00:06:09.680
He knew the enemy was coming, and he knew there was no way they were going to win that battle.
00:06:10.240 --> 00:06:11.439
So let me ask you this.
00:06:11.680 --> 00:06:12.959
What would you do?
00:06:13.839 --> 00:06:19.680
What do you do when the battle right in front of you is bigger than the strength inside of you?
00:06:20.560 --> 00:06:24.959
What do you do when you've prayed uh but but you still don't see the answer?
00:06:25.120 --> 00:06:30.079
What do you do when you've cried until you don't have any tears left?
00:06:30.319 --> 00:06:31.600
What do you do?
00:06:32.480 --> 00:06:36.720
Well, I'm going to tell you today, people, I'm going to tell you what the Bible says, too.
00:06:37.519 --> 00:06:39.439
Just praise his name.
00:06:40.319 --> 00:06:44.879
So in 2 Chronicles 20, Joseph gets word that this multitude's coming.
00:06:45.120 --> 00:06:47.040
And he was scared.
00:06:47.199 --> 00:06:51.839
You know, the the word of God tells us in verse 3 that he was scared.
00:06:52.000 --> 00:06:53.600
The Bible tells us he was afraid.
00:06:53.759 --> 00:06:55.040
He was afraid, but you know what?
00:06:55.120 --> 00:06:56.399
He still sought the Lord.
00:06:56.480 --> 00:06:57.680
And that's very important.
00:06:57.759 --> 00:07:03.040
That you see, faith doesn't mean that you never get afraid.
00:07:04.560 --> 00:07:09.680
Faith means that you know where to go when you do get afraid.
00:07:10.319 --> 00:07:12.560
Joseph wasn't imagining things.
00:07:12.639 --> 00:07:13.759
The enemy was coming.
00:07:14.000 --> 00:07:16.560
The enemy was coming, and it was going to be a problem.
00:07:17.040 --> 00:07:19.839
This wasn't a little problem, this was a big problem.
00:07:20.480 --> 00:07:27.839
And his first response wasn't to panic, it was to pray and seek God.
00:07:29.680 --> 00:07:34.639
So, friends, ask yourself today, what what is it that you're doing when your battle is bigger than you are?
00:07:35.839 --> 00:07:43.040
What is it that you do when you look at the situation in front of you and you think, wow, there's no way that I am going to win this battle?
00:07:44.800 --> 00:07:49.439
Maybe some of you listening right now know exactly what I'm thinking, what I'm talking about.
00:07:49.680 --> 00:07:54.800
Maybe you're facing a battle in your family, or or maybe you're facing fear or loneliness.
00:07:54.959 --> 00:07:57.120
Maybe you're waiting on an answer from God.
00:07:58.000 --> 00:08:00.399
Maybe you're worrying about a diagnosis.
00:08:01.360 --> 00:08:03.519
And you're wondering what to do.
00:08:05.199 --> 00:08:11.519
Well, see, King Jehosaphat found himself facing a battle that he knew he couldn't win.
00:08:12.560 --> 00:08:19.519
And God didn't tell him to gather a bigger army, or God didn't say come up with a bigger strategy.
00:08:20.399 --> 00:08:22.399
God didn't tell him to panic.
00:08:23.439 --> 00:08:27.360
God told him to stand still and trust him.
00:08:28.480 --> 00:08:34.799
Now, like I said, verse 3 tells us that Jehoshaphat feared, and I love it that the word of God tells us that.
00:08:35.039 --> 00:08:38.559
I love it that the word of God was honest and told us about that.
00:08:38.639 --> 00:08:40.159
He was a big mighty man.
00:08:40.240 --> 00:08:41.360
He he was a good man.
00:08:41.440 --> 00:08:43.759
He he you know he made Judah prosper.
00:08:43.919 --> 00:08:45.759
But the Bible says he feared.
00:08:45.919 --> 00:08:52.639
And it said it's set, the Bible says, and he set himself to speak, to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast all throughout Judah.
00:08:55.039 --> 00:08:57.519
You know, they seeked the Lord.
00:08:57.759 --> 00:09:00.080
And I love it that the word tells us this.
00:09:00.240 --> 00:09:04.399
Because sometimes we think that having faith means that we're never afraid.
00:09:04.559 --> 00:09:05.679
I believe that.
00:09:06.320 --> 00:09:08.000
But gee, listen to me.
00:09:08.799 --> 00:09:10.799
Jehoshaphat was afraid.
00:09:11.759 --> 00:09:14.080
But he was still a man of faith.
00:09:15.440 --> 00:09:16.080
You know.
00:09:16.559 --> 00:09:19.440
Being afraid doesn't mean that you don't trust God.
00:09:20.799 --> 00:09:21.840
That's not what it means.
00:09:22.000 --> 00:09:24.879
Being afraid doesn't mean that you don't trust God.
00:09:25.039 --> 00:09:27.840
Being afraid, it means that you're human.
00:09:28.639 --> 00:09:30.639
And God knows that He made you.
00:09:31.120 --> 00:09:38.480
And so the first lesson that I hope you've understood in this part is seeking God with your faith.
00:09:39.679 --> 00:09:43.039
When the battle comes and you see the battle coming, seek God.
00:09:43.519 --> 00:09:45.759
The whole nation, they fasted and they prayed.
00:09:45.919 --> 00:09:47.200
Every one of them.
00:09:47.600 --> 00:09:50.639
When you don't understand what's happening, seek God.
00:09:50.960 --> 00:09:54.879
When you have that fear and you become afraid, seek God.
00:09:56.559 --> 00:10:00.240
And the Bible says King Jehosaphat stood before his people and he prayed.
00:10:00.399 --> 00:10:04.000
And apparently he was it was a very powerful prayer.
00:10:05.200 --> 00:10:07.200
And it's right there in verse chapter 20.
00:10:07.279 --> 00:10:08.240
I hope you go read it.
00:10:08.399 --> 00:10:15.360
He basically said, You know what, God, you are our God, and you are powerful, and you rule over everything.
00:10:15.759 --> 00:10:19.919
And he said, You have delivered your people before.
00:10:20.559 --> 00:10:23.919
That's precisely pretty much what he's saying.
00:10:24.639 --> 00:10:34.240
And then Jehosaphat said, We have no might against this great company that cometh against us.
00:10:35.279 --> 00:10:38.399
Neither know we what to do.
00:10:38.879 --> 00:10:41.679
That's what Jehoshaphat said to the Lord.
00:10:42.399 --> 00:10:44.559
And I'm sure you guys have been there before, right?
00:10:44.639 --> 00:10:45.279
I know I have.
00:10:45.679 --> 00:10:46.240
Have you been there?
00:10:46.320 --> 00:10:47.679
You know, saying, God, you know what?
00:10:47.759 --> 00:10:49.200
I don't know what to do.
00:10:49.440 --> 00:10:54.399
And this is probably the most honest prayer that any of us could ever pray in our lives.
00:10:54.559 --> 00:10:58.399
You you don't always have to come before God with fancy words, right?
00:11:00.480 --> 00:11:07.519
You just sometimes you have to come in prayer and you just say, Lord, I don't know what to do.
00:11:08.000 --> 00:11:16.000
I'm gonna I'm gonna hold here for just a second because I want to tell you about a prayer that I found on, I found it somewhere and I wrote it down.
00:11:16.080 --> 00:11:19.200
It's on a piece of paper in my Bible.
00:11:19.759 --> 00:11:22.399
And it was labeled called the I don't know prayer.
00:11:22.960 --> 00:11:24.080
And it said, you know what?
00:11:24.159 --> 00:11:28.879
It said that you go before the Lord and you tell the Lord, I don't know, Lord, what tomorrow holds.
00:11:29.039 --> 00:11:32.639
I don't know what decision to make, I don't know which way to turn.
00:11:32.879 --> 00:11:36.559
I don't know how to do with all these emotions, all these feelings that I'm having.
00:11:36.639 --> 00:11:38.720
I don't know what to do with all of that.
00:11:40.000 --> 00:11:42.000
You tell the Lord, I don't know.
00:11:42.320 --> 00:11:44.639
Because that's covering a lot of things.
00:11:45.279 --> 00:11:49.600
But you tell the Lord, I don't know what tomorrow holds.
00:11:50.320 --> 00:12:00.960
And then with every bit of faith that you can muster in yourself, you go into your prayer closet or your prayer spot or wherever you go to do, you're praying and talking to the Lord, and you say, Lord, I don't know.
00:12:01.840 --> 00:12:05.840
But I know you do, and I know you.
00:12:06.240 --> 00:12:08.240
And you give it to the Lord.
00:12:10.000 --> 00:12:14.480
Sometimes the best prayer to ever pray is, I don't know.
00:12:15.519 --> 00:12:17.200
Because he knows your heart.
00:12:19.440 --> 00:12:28.720
And then listen, Jehoshaphat said what I believe is the greatest declaration of faith in this whole chapter.
00:12:29.679 --> 00:12:38.080
Jehoshaphat said, He said, But our eyes are upon thee.
00:12:39.200 --> 00:12:40.240
That's faith.
00:12:41.519 --> 00:12:45.600
He says, I don't know what to do, but my eyes are upon you.
00:12:45.840 --> 00:12:50.720
I don't know how it's gonna work out, but my eyes are upon you.
00:12:51.519 --> 00:12:53.679
And people, that's what we gotta do.
00:12:54.159 --> 00:12:58.720
Maybe we don't see a way, but my eyes are upon you.
00:12:58.960 --> 00:13:04.960
And that's what Jehosaphat and the whole kingdom of Judah was saying to God.
00:13:05.919 --> 00:13:07.440
And that's faith.
00:13:08.320 --> 00:13:12.159
And then when you go on and read on over in there, let me tell you what God says.
00:13:12.320 --> 00:13:13.360
Check this out.
00:13:13.519 --> 00:13:15.679
Listen to what God said back to them.
00:13:16.000 --> 00:13:24.799
God said, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God's.
00:13:25.360 --> 00:13:26.720
Man, I gotta praise the Lord.
00:13:26.799 --> 00:13:28.080
I gotta say that again.
00:13:28.320 --> 00:13:34.639
God said, Be not afraid, nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude.
00:13:35.279 --> 00:13:40.480
For the battle is not yours, but God's.
00:13:56.960 --> 00:14:01.919
You're trying to fix things that only God can fix, and he's saying today, give it to me.
00:14:02.480 --> 00:14:05.759
Just like he told Jehoshaphat, give it to me.
00:14:06.799 --> 00:14:12.159
God told Judah, you shall not need to fight in this battle.
00:14:13.120 --> 00:14:14.320
Friends, listen to me.
00:14:14.399 --> 00:14:15.440
Can you imagine that?
00:14:15.679 --> 00:14:17.840
Can you imagine that there's an army coming?
00:14:18.080 --> 00:14:23.440
You're outnumbered, you're afraid, you know they're coming from every side, three different nations, three different groups.
00:14:23.600 --> 00:14:25.039
They're gonna come from every side.
00:14:25.200 --> 00:14:27.759
You're gonna be afraid, you're gonna be outnumbered.
00:14:28.000 --> 00:14:32.879
And God says, Woo, praise the Lord, you don't have to fight this one.
00:14:34.720 --> 00:14:41.840
And then God said, Stand ye still and see the salvation of the Lord.
00:14:42.159 --> 00:14:42.799
Amen.
00:14:44.399 --> 00:14:47.840
See, you don't have to be doing something every second.
00:14:48.399 --> 00:14:50.000
God said, Stand still.
00:14:50.799 --> 00:14:52.399
See the salvation of the Lord.
00:14:52.559 --> 00:14:53.679
Stop worrying.
00:14:54.320 --> 00:14:56.480
God said, Be still and trust me.
00:14:56.720 --> 00:14:57.679
Watch me.
00:14:58.720 --> 00:15:02.080
I used to have old saying years ago, I used to say, hide and watch.
00:15:02.559 --> 00:15:03.840
Hide and watch.
00:15:04.879 --> 00:15:10.879
God's telling you to stop and be still and watch.
00:15:11.679 --> 00:15:13.519
And that's what he's saying today.
00:15:13.840 --> 00:15:15.759
And somebody needs to hear that.
00:15:16.159 --> 00:15:24.639
And if you're carrying around a load that God never meant for you to carry alone, step back and watch.
00:15:25.919 --> 00:15:28.720
And then this is my favorite part of the whole story.
00:15:29.279 --> 00:15:32.720
My favorite part of the whole story.
00:15:33.279 --> 00:15:39.519
Jehoshaphat didn't wait until the vic after the victory to praise God.
00:15:41.919 --> 00:15:45.919
He bowed his head and the people worshiped.
00:15:46.639 --> 00:15:55.440
And then he did something, listen to this, he did something very, very uh very, very awesome.
00:15:56.639 --> 00:15:59.600
Jehoshaphat appointed singers.
00:16:01.519 --> 00:16:02.639
He appointed singers.
00:16:02.799 --> 00:16:06.000
Not soldiers, not his great army of people.
00:16:06.879 --> 00:16:15.679
When they were getting ready to go to battle, before they went to battle, because like I said, he knew there was no way they were going to win that battle.
00:16:16.559 --> 00:16:19.200
But he appointed soldiers or singers.
00:16:19.440 --> 00:16:20.639
He appointed singers.
00:16:20.720 --> 00:16:22.960
And these singers, he appointed his worship team.
00:16:23.120 --> 00:16:25.440
He sent his praise team in first.
00:16:25.919 --> 00:16:27.600
And they went before the army.
00:16:27.759 --> 00:16:33.120
Not soldiers, not the frontline men, not the ones with the with with all the weapons.
00:16:34.159 --> 00:16:35.840
The worship team.
00:16:36.399 --> 00:16:37.679
Think about that, people.
00:16:37.840 --> 00:16:38.480
Think about that.
00:16:38.559 --> 00:16:43.440
If you're preparing for a battle, now I might put my strongest soldiers in front.
00:16:43.519 --> 00:16:45.679
I uh that would probably be what I would do.
00:16:47.519 --> 00:16:50.879
I'd put but but put the praisers in front.
00:16:51.759 --> 00:16:53.919
He put the praisers in front.
00:16:54.080 --> 00:16:55.360
And God had a different plan.
00:16:55.519 --> 00:16:57.360
He put the praisers in front.
00:16:57.600 --> 00:17:01.200
And they went before the army singing and praying, praising God.
00:17:01.360 --> 00:17:02.559
And this is what they were singing.
00:17:02.639 --> 00:17:08.240
They were singing, praise the Lord for his mercy endureth forever.
00:17:09.359 --> 00:17:10.960
Praise the Lord.
00:17:12.160 --> 00:17:13.759
Praise the Lord.
00:17:14.160 --> 00:17:15.680
Praise His name, people.
00:17:15.920 --> 00:17:18.240
They were praising God for who he was.
00:17:21.359 --> 00:17:22.000
You know what?
00:17:22.079 --> 00:17:26.079
They praised God before they even saw the victory.
00:17:26.720 --> 00:17:28.000
Think about that.
00:17:28.799 --> 00:17:29.680
Think about this.
00:17:29.920 --> 00:17:33.200
Anybody can, anybody can praise God after the healing.
00:17:33.440 --> 00:17:38.720
Anybody can throw their hands up in the air and jump up and down and praise God after their prayers are answered.
00:17:39.680 --> 00:17:41.519
But what about before?
00:17:42.079 --> 00:17:44.880
What about when you're still standing right in the middle of your storm?
00:17:45.039 --> 00:17:47.839
What about when you don't know what tomorrow's going to bring?
00:17:48.000 --> 00:17:51.839
What about, can you still throw your hands up and say, God, I praise you?
00:17:52.400 --> 00:17:54.480
Can you praise him while you're waiting?
00:17:54.720 --> 00:17:56.240
While you're hurting?
00:17:56.799 --> 00:17:59.200
When you don't understand things, when you have questions?
00:17:59.440 --> 00:18:02.960
Can you praise him when you haven't seen the answer yet?
00:18:04.720 --> 00:18:10.960
Because trust me, people, praise isn't something you give God after he blesses you.
00:18:11.680 --> 00:18:13.440
Praise is an act of faith.
00:18:13.680 --> 00:18:15.839
Listen to me, praise is an act of faith.
00:18:16.000 --> 00:18:22.079
When you praise God in the middle of this battle, it's like you're saying, God, I don't know what you're doing, but I know who you are.
00:18:22.480 --> 00:18:25.599
I don't may not know what you're doing, but I know what you're getting ready to do.
00:18:25.759 --> 00:18:27.839
You're getting ready to pull me out of this battle.
00:18:28.079 --> 00:18:28.960
That's what you're doing.
00:18:29.039 --> 00:18:32.480
When you go and you praise God, that's an act of faith.
00:18:34.480 --> 00:18:39.519
But let me pause and make something really clear here, though, before we go any further.
00:18:40.319 --> 00:18:44.000
Praise doesn't mean that the battle isn't real.
00:18:45.759 --> 00:18:49.599
Praise doesn't mean that you pretend everything's okay.
00:18:50.240 --> 00:18:53.920
It doesn't mean that you don't cry, that you don't hurt.
00:18:54.640 --> 00:18:58.319
It doesn't mean that you don't get discouraged or have questions.
00:18:58.960 --> 00:19:00.400
Jehoshaphat was afraid.
00:19:00.480 --> 00:19:02.000
The word of God said so.
00:19:03.039 --> 00:19:04.480
He was afraid, but you know what?
00:19:04.559 --> 00:19:05.440
The battle was real.
00:19:05.599 --> 00:19:08.880
The enemy was real, and they were coming at them, and they were going to come at them hard.
00:19:09.039 --> 00:19:10.480
Their battle was real.
00:19:11.359 --> 00:19:13.119
Friends, your battle today is real.
00:19:13.279 --> 00:19:14.240
My battle is real.
00:19:14.400 --> 00:19:17.200
Our battle is real today, but tell you what, listen to me.
00:19:17.440 --> 00:19:20.160
Our God was more real.
00:19:20.640 --> 00:19:22.400
Their God was more real.
00:19:22.640 --> 00:19:23.200
Amen.
00:19:23.440 --> 00:19:24.880
That's the difference.
00:19:25.440 --> 00:19:29.599
Our God is real, way more real than what our battles are.
00:19:29.920 --> 00:19:31.680
And that's the difference.
00:19:32.240 --> 00:19:35.440
And that's what King Jehoshaphat saw that day.
00:19:36.160 --> 00:19:38.880
See, praise doesn't deny the battle.
00:19:39.359 --> 00:19:42.240
Praise declares that the battle doesn't have the final word.
00:19:42.799 --> 00:19:44.480
That's what it does.
00:19:45.359 --> 00:19:48.799
You can cry and praise, you can hurt and praise.
00:19:49.039 --> 00:19:50.640
You can be afraid and praise.
00:19:50.799 --> 00:19:54.559
I do a lot, I do these quite often, be it, trust me, all three of them.
00:19:54.720 --> 00:19:56.160
Sitting right in my home.
00:19:56.400 --> 00:20:00.319
I do all of them, but I still praise his name.
00:20:01.279 --> 00:20:04.480
Because you can't look up to the Lord and say, you know what, Lord, that hurts.
00:20:04.640 --> 00:20:07.200
This hurts, but I will still praise you.
00:20:07.920 --> 00:20:10.559
And you can look up to the Lord and say, Lord, maybe I don't understand.
00:20:10.720 --> 00:20:13.440
Maybe I have questions, but I still trust you.
00:20:14.559 --> 00:20:23.519
You can look at the Lord and say, you know what, maybe I don't see the answer to this or a way out of it, but Lord, I will still praise your name.
00:20:27.039 --> 00:20:31.759
Let's go back to 2 Chronicles 20, verse 22.
00:20:32.720 --> 00:20:34.720
And watch what God done.
00:20:35.039 --> 00:20:36.240
Just watch.
00:20:36.960 --> 00:20:48.079
And the Bible says, and when they began to sing him to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, which were to come against Judah.
00:20:48.240 --> 00:20:50.000
And listen at this, people, listen at this.
00:20:50.160 --> 00:21:04.640
When the ch for the children of Amon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Sire, utterly to slay and destroy them, and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Sire, each one helped to destroy the other.
00:21:05.440 --> 00:21:06.079
Amen.
00:21:07.200 --> 00:21:07.920
Who else?
00:21:08.079 --> 00:21:15.519
Who else could made these three, these three nations, who else could have made these three groups of people turn on one another and kill one another?
00:21:15.839 --> 00:21:16.720
Only God.
00:21:18.160 --> 00:21:19.920
Only the God of Israel.
00:21:20.240 --> 00:21:20.880
Amen.
00:21:22.799 --> 00:21:24.079
Did you see that?
00:21:24.559 --> 00:21:26.319
Did you understand what he did here?
00:21:27.920 --> 00:21:30.559
They began to sing and praise and God moved.
00:21:31.039 --> 00:21:32.960
They praised and God fought.
00:21:33.119 --> 00:21:35.200
They worshiped and God worked.
00:21:35.759 --> 00:21:39.039
They trusted and God delivered.
00:21:39.759 --> 00:21:42.319
The enemy that they knew they couldn't defeat.
00:21:42.640 --> 00:21:44.400
God took care of it.
00:21:46.160 --> 00:21:53.599
To the point of when Judah arrived at the place where the battle was going to be, they found that God had already taken care of the enemy.
00:21:53.839 --> 00:21:55.599
They didn't even have to fight.
00:21:57.200 --> 00:21:59.039
But they gathered the spoil.
00:22:00.960 --> 00:22:16.319
Listen to me, verse 25 says, And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away.
00:22:16.559 --> 00:22:20.559
They they were three days in gathering of the spoil.
00:22:20.720 --> 00:22:21.920
It was so much.
00:22:22.079 --> 00:22:23.680
Look at what God done.
00:22:23.839 --> 00:22:25.839
Praise the Lord, look at what he done.
00:22:26.079 --> 00:22:35.680
Not only fought the battle, not only made them all turn around and kill one another, but now God supplied them with the riches and precious jewels.
00:22:36.079 --> 00:22:38.559
So much that it took them three days to carry it.
00:22:38.880 --> 00:22:39.519
Wow.
00:22:40.720 --> 00:22:41.279
Wow.
00:22:41.519 --> 00:22:49.039
People, can you imagine walking into a battle that you thought you were going to have to fight and finding out that God had already taken care of it?
00:22:49.599 --> 00:22:51.279
Praise the Lord.
00:22:53.279 --> 00:22:55.519
My friends, listen to me today.
00:22:56.000 --> 00:22:58.400
What battles are you facing today?
00:22:59.039 --> 00:23:01.039
Maybe you got something going on in your mind.
00:23:01.200 --> 00:23:04.160
Maybe you're fighting fear about your future.
00:23:04.319 --> 00:23:08.640
Maybe you're carrying grief, or maybe you're worried about a loved one.
00:23:08.880 --> 00:23:13.920
Maybe you're worrying about a child of marriage, or maybe you're just waiting on the door to open.
00:23:15.519 --> 00:23:20.160
Are you facing a situation and you honestly don't know what to do?
00:23:22.000 --> 00:23:23.839
And people listen to me today.
00:23:24.079 --> 00:23:30.799
Brothers and sisters, I want you to remember King Jehoshaphat's words.
00:23:32.160 --> 00:23:39.440
We have no might, neither know we what to do, but our eyes are upon thee.
00:23:41.680 --> 00:23:45.279
My friends, today, keep your eyes on Jesus.
00:23:45.759 --> 00:23:49.839
You may not see an answer, but keep your eyes on him.
00:23:51.519 --> 00:23:52.799
No matter what.
00:23:54.000 --> 00:23:57.279
Don't let the battle steal your praise.
00:23:58.880 --> 00:24:03.519
See the enemy the enemy would like nothing no better.
00:24:05.119 --> 00:24:11.519
Nothing more than to make you so focused on that battle that you forget your God.
00:24:13.039 --> 00:24:14.960
Because he is still God.
00:24:15.759 --> 00:24:17.279
He is faithful.
00:24:17.680 --> 00:24:19.119
He's worthy.
00:24:19.599 --> 00:24:22.400
He is still on the throne.
00:24:23.599 --> 00:24:28.559
And friends, he is still deserving of your praise.
00:24:28.880 --> 00:24:30.240
Every praise.
00:24:31.119 --> 00:24:32.799
Every praise is to her God.
00:24:32.960 --> 00:24:34.000
I love that song.
00:24:35.200 --> 00:24:39.920
And maybe, maybe you can't praise him, but maybe you're thinking about your circumstances right now.
00:24:40.079 --> 00:24:40.559
I don't know.
00:24:40.640 --> 00:24:41.359
But you know what?
00:24:41.519 --> 00:24:43.200
Praise him for who he is.
00:24:44.160 --> 00:24:45.839
Friends, he's holy.
00:24:46.400 --> 00:24:47.839
He forgave you.
00:24:48.400 --> 00:24:50.079
He never left you.
00:24:50.880 --> 00:24:53.200
He was there when nobody else was.
00:24:54.400 --> 00:24:58.240
And he made a way when you couldn't see a way.
00:24:59.200 --> 00:25:01.039
Just praise his name.
00:25:02.720 --> 00:25:04.240
Think about Judah.
00:25:04.480 --> 00:25:07.039
They praised before they saw the victory.
00:25:07.920 --> 00:25:09.599
And let me ask you this.
00:25:10.559 --> 00:25:16.559
What if your praise today is preparing your heart for what God's going to do tomorrow?
00:25:18.079 --> 00:25:19.279
Think about that.
00:25:20.559 --> 00:25:30.079
What if instead of spending the night worrying about something you can't control, you spent that time praising the one who can't?
00:25:34.480 --> 00:25:36.400
Friends, listen to me.
00:25:39.119 --> 00:25:45.519
There's somebody out there today who maybe listen to me right now, who is standing in the middle of a battle.
00:25:46.079 --> 00:25:49.279
And you don't know what to do, you don't know where to turn.
00:25:49.519 --> 00:25:53.440
Maybe you've prayed and you've cried and you've asked God for an answer.
00:25:54.000 --> 00:25:56.720
Maybe today you're just tired and discouraged.
00:25:57.519 --> 00:26:01.119
Maybe you're probably wondering if God even hears you.
00:26:01.680 --> 00:26:04.960
Trust me, friends, I assure you He does.
00:26:06.400 --> 00:26:12.559
But what I want you to remember again is King Jehoshaphat's words.
00:26:13.440 --> 00:26:15.039
We have no might.
00:26:15.680 --> 00:26:21.279
Neither do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon thee.
00:26:23.039 --> 00:26:26.319
See, you may not know what to do, but you keep your eyes upon him.
00:26:26.640 --> 00:26:30.799
You may not understand his plan, but keep your eyes on him.
00:26:31.279 --> 00:26:36.319
You may not know or see a way out, but keep your eyes on him.
00:26:37.200 --> 00:26:41.680
And above any and all, people, praise his name.
00:26:42.720 --> 00:26:44.079
Praise him in the morning.
00:26:44.240 --> 00:26:46.079
Praise him in the midnight hour.
00:26:46.319 --> 00:26:48.480
Praise him while you're waiting on the answer.
00:26:48.720 --> 00:26:51.119
Praise him when you get the answer.
00:26:51.359 --> 00:26:53.440
Praise him on the mountain in the valley.
00:26:53.599 --> 00:26:56.000
Praise him when you understand and when you don't understand.
00:26:56.160 --> 00:26:57.680
He's worthy of all praise.
00:26:57.759 --> 00:27:00.000
Just praise his name.
00:27:00.799 --> 00:27:02.799
Just praise his name.
00:27:03.759 --> 00:27:06.799
See, the enemy may be coming, but God's already there.
00:27:07.279 --> 00:27:10.799
Your battle may be big, but your God is bigger.
00:27:11.680 --> 00:27:14.799
The mountain may be high, but your God is higher.
00:27:16.160 --> 00:27:21.279
You lift up your lift up your head and you straighten your shoulders and you say, Lord, I don't know what you're doing.
00:27:21.519 --> 00:27:23.920
I don't know what you're doing, but I trust you.
00:27:24.400 --> 00:27:28.160
You tell the Lord, I don't know how you're gonna get to this.
00:27:28.240 --> 00:27:30.960
I don't know how you're gonna what you're gonna do with it.
00:27:33.279 --> 00:27:35.440
But you tell him, I believe you can.
00:27:37.279 --> 00:27:40.799
You tell him, I don't know when the victory is coming.
00:27:42.160 --> 00:27:44.720
But I'm gonna praise you while I wait.
00:27:46.240 --> 00:27:47.759
Because people listen to me.
00:27:47.920 --> 00:27:58.799
Sometimes the greatest act of faith is simply just standing still, lifting your hands, and just praising his name.
00:28:01.839 --> 00:28:03.680
Just praising his name.
00:28:04.880 --> 00:28:06.799
That's all he asks you to do.
00:28:07.680 --> 00:28:09.119
Praise his name.
00:28:11.759 --> 00:28:13.440
Morning, noon, and night.
00:28:14.240 --> 00:28:15.839
Just praise his name.
00:28:19.359 --> 00:28:21.279
Friends, that's all I have on this.
00:28:21.359 --> 00:28:28.480
And I hope and pray that this has blessed you as much as it's blessed me to bring it to you.
00:28:28.799 --> 00:28:34.240
I hope uh I hope you understand and see where I was going with this.
00:28:34.480 --> 00:28:35.759
I really hope you do.
00:28:35.920 --> 00:28:41.680
Uh, you know, uh, he's worthy of all of our praise.
00:28:42.640 --> 00:28:43.759
All of our praise.
00:28:43.920 --> 00:28:45.680
Morning, noon, and night.
00:28:46.000 --> 00:28:47.359
Every day.
00:28:47.839 --> 00:28:49.279
He's worthy.
00:28:50.319 --> 00:28:55.519
So please, please go read that chapter in 2 Chronicles 20.
00:28:55.680 --> 00:28:57.039
It's a beautiful, awesome story.
00:28:57.119 --> 00:28:58.079
I love it.
00:28:58.400 --> 00:29:00.799
I believe it'll open up your eyes.
00:29:01.119 --> 00:29:03.759
Anyway, thank you so much for listening.
00:29:04.079 --> 00:29:05.200
God bless everybody.
00:29:05.359 --> 00:29:07.279
And I'm going to end with a prayer.
00:29:08.960 --> 00:29:13.680
Lord our Father, God in heaven, we come to you today with hearts that need you.
00:29:14.319 --> 00:29:19.039
Because I know someone listening right now is carrying a battle.
00:29:19.359 --> 00:29:21.200
They're carrying a battle that feels too big for them.
00:29:21.279 --> 00:29:22.400
I know it, I feel it.
00:29:22.720 --> 00:29:25.440
They don't know where to go or what to do or where to turn.
00:29:26.880 --> 00:29:32.799
But Jesus, the Father, just like Jehoshaphat said, our eyes are upon you.
00:29:33.920 --> 00:29:35.039
Lord, please help these people.
00:29:35.119 --> 00:29:39.440
Help me, all these people, help us to stop trying to fight the battle that belongs to you.
00:29:39.599 --> 00:29:41.920
Help us to trust you when we can't see the answer.
00:29:42.079 --> 00:29:44.720
Help us to praise you before the victory.
00:29:46.240 --> 00:29:50.319
Let us never forget that you to give you all the glory.
00:29:51.759 --> 00:29:56.960
Lord, please help us, everybody, to understand that maybe they don't know what tomorrow holds.
00:29:58.240 --> 00:30:00.160
But they know who holds tomorrow.
00:30:01.680 --> 00:30:07.359
We thank you for these words and I ask you to let these words go, Lord, toward the hearts that need to hear it.
00:30:07.519 --> 00:30:13.200
And the people that need to grasp it and need to listen to it and need to let it get into their hearts and penetrate.
00:30:13.519 --> 00:30:15.119
Lord, bless all these people.
00:30:15.359 --> 00:30:18.240
Because you said your word won't come back, board, and we believe that.
00:30:18.799 --> 00:30:20.480
We thank you for everything.
00:30:20.720 --> 00:30:22.000
We praise you and honor you.
00:30:22.079 --> 00:30:24.319
We praise you and honor you today.
00:30:24.400 --> 00:30:26.240
In Jesus' holy name.
00:30:26.559 --> 00:30:26.880
Amen.
00:30:27.440 --> 00:30:27.680
Thank you.
00:30:30.799 --> 00:30:34.000
Stay on Jesus.
