O TYM ODCINKU
What happens when losing one way of seeing seems to open another?
In 2021, Jamie Estelle Roth woke up with a dark spot in her left eye. Within months, after a frightening series of medical problems, hospital stays and treatments, she had lost most of her vision.
Her old life changed almost overnight. But Jamie says something else changed, too.
As she adjusted to blindness, the inner voice she now calls her higher self became much harder to ignore. She began noticing stronger intuitions, unexpected messages, synchronicities and unusual visual experiences within what she describes as the “veil” across her remaining vision.
Jamie joins Andy Walker to talk about the terrifying transition from sighted to blind, why she believes losing her vision amplified her intuition and how she learned to distinguish the quieter voice of her higher self from fear and everyday mental noise.
They explore acceptance, surrender, synchronicity and Jamie’s realization that blindness did not end her life — it changed how she experiences it.
Today, Jamie says she can genuinely describe what happened to her as a gift, while also acknowledging that she would still love to see again.
Jamie is the author of Should’ve Seen That Coming: Navigating the In-Between Moments of Acceptance, Surrender, and Resilience and host of the podcast My Higher Self Has Questions.

Woo Skill: Be Present, Breathe Into It, Become That Which IsJamie shares a simple mantra that came to her following one of her vivid dreams:
Be present.
Breathe into it.
Become that which is.
Try it when your mind is racing, you are worrying about what comes next or you find yourself trying to force an answer.
Pause and take a slow breath as you say, “Be present.”
Take another breath and say, “Breathe into it.”
Then allow yourself to stop fighting the moment and say, “Become that which is.”
Jamie visualizes an infinity symbol as she repeats the mantra, bringing her attention back around to presence.
The purpose is not to force an intuitive message to appear. It is to get quiet enough to notice what is already happening — including what your own intuition may be trying to tell you.
Woo Wisdom+ Extended EpisodeThen Jamie turns the microphone around.
In the extended Woo Wisdom+ conversation, Jamie brings the interviewing style of her own podcast, My Higher Self Has Questions, to Woo Wisdom and starts asking Andy the questions.
How did a technology journalist and longtime rational thinker find his way into meditation, spirit guides, synchronicity and consciousness?
Why was Andy initially reluctant to talk publicly about some of the experiences he was having?
The conversation quickly becomes more personal, moving through spiritual experiences, strange coincidences, forgiveness, estrangement, family relationships and the question of whether even some of the hardest people in our lives may have something to teach us.
What begins as a role reversal becomes a conversation about how exploring the woo has changed Andy — and how our relationships, beliefs and sense of ourselves can change as we get older.
