speaker-1: You wanna go into the loot with us dude? Do it, dude. Let's get there. Let's get there. I know I look like my eyes are really squinty and I'm just like super vibed out in the loo, just feeling good, but it's actually just because one of my eyes is has an allergic reaction to a cat I saw last night. So that's why I look like I'm like Hello, how's it going? Yeah, so that's fun. Wait, are you allergic to cats? Don't you have like six of ⁓ now? I have three of them. But surprisingly that doesn't actually make you not allergic to all cats and dogs. What does is allergies?
speaker-0: I see. I see. It's bold. It's a bold strategy to have cats while being allergic to cats. I got to give it to you. That's
speaker-1: It's a bullshit. It wasn't your cat that got you Correct. Infe so did you like let some dirty cat rub their butthole against your
speaker-2: More cats.
speaker-0: That's what you get when you start stepping out on your cats with other cats. Why?
speaker-1: I'm not I don't have that pink eye. There's no that far. How dare you I'm gonna do the whole thing like this so you can't see me. I'll be like George. It's fine, you'll never know.
speaker-0: I really want to take this thing video. I really want to focus on video and then comes with cat pink eye on
speaker-1: Yeah, d it's a classic move. Classic move. Yeah. Like really pushing a lot of idiots.
speaker-0: strategy you know we see how this works out for you guys
speaker-1: Strategy cotton. Yeah, we'll see, we'll see, we'll see. I used to have it on ⁓ I think I have it on D V D still. ⁓ I haven't watched it in a while 'cause I don't have a Dv player.
speaker-0: What about you John, how often are you watching dodgeball?
speaker-1: I'm falling asleep to it, man. Yeah, dude, it's playing in my subconscious the whole time.
speaker-0: It's my white noise. That's good, dude.
speaker-2: I thought you meant like the sport, ⁓ like on ESPN site or something legit like
speaker-1: Yeah. Yeah. What we're talking about. Yeah.
speaker-2: What did that seem to be? And it was it was funny. So never basically.
speaker-3: Bye!
speaker-0: Alright.
speaker-1: ⁓ yeah, I've only I I can't say I watch it on any regular cadence. Like
speaker-0: You know, this says a lot about each of you. feel like I learned a lot about each one of you today.
speaker-1: Will doesn't have a D D player.
speaker-0: Yeah, Will doesn't have a DVD player. ⁓ Kelly barely knows of the existence of the movie Dodgeball. I think... We're gonna sleep with Dodgeball. And Kevin's pretty just like Ambovlin.
speaker-1: Yeah. Every time. I I was talking to somebody and I I mentioned ⁓ I was talking to one my managers actually. And I was like, ⁓ yeah, I actually paused Daredevil to come back to the computer to help with this problem. And ⁓ it was late at night. It was one of those things.
speaker-0: But.
speaker-1: He was like, ⁓ the bat the the one from like that long ago? And I was like, with Ben Affleck? No. I'm watching Born Again, like the new Daredevil series. Like, who are you? You didn't know this whole thing's happening. So yeah, it it's it's one of those things. What if
speaker-0: I mean how dare they? How dare they sir? I take my glove. How dare you sir?
speaker-1: Yeah. I challenge you. That was a good bit. I just forgot that like Alan Tudic and Justin Long and Hank Azaria and Chuck Norris are in that movie.
speaker-0: Yeah, and stiller ⁓ What's her name? ⁓ The the girl from hey, dude, ⁓ man Christine yes Thank you. Thank you. Not feel too too old somebody else knew the
speaker-1: What f? Taylor. Hey dude. ⁓
speaker-0: it was definitely a show on Nick. You young whippersnappers wouldn't know anything about how you did it.
speaker-1: I watched a few episodes. You know. Came on late at night, Nick at night, you know, that's cool.
speaker-0: Yeah, I watch syndicated episodes of Hey Dude.
speaker-1: Okay. And Pete and Pete it leaves red freak. That's actually my white noise is hate. What was that show? That's ⁓ shorts. That was mine, yeah. Solution shorts is mine.
speaker-0: Same era, that's same era.
speaker-1: Same area, yeah. Yeah. I think A dude was a little earlier, but
speaker-0: Yeah, but Pete and Pete?
speaker-1: P and P classic, man. I did I did watch that. That one felt a little more adult to me than the other ones did.
speaker-0: It's a little heavier, you know us anyway dodgeball anyway How do you like that transition dude back to dodge ball, you know, and then back to pathfinder to I'll say
speaker-1: Yeah. Wow. Say this, you really dodged that transition. You dodged a good transition. You know what I'm saying? And if you can dodge a wrench. You can dodge a good transition. Well done dude. Well done. Well done.
speaker-0: good times. Good times. Yeah, we're back here after completing the first of two scenarios that we're doing here on Will Strange. ⁓ Both of these scenarios took place during the year of the shattered sanctuaries. That was the third season of Pathfinder IIE society storylines. And we're doing kind of a back to backer here that are connected.
speaker-1: Uh-huh.
speaker-0: And in the first one, you guys went to this lodge that was supposed to have been opened a while ago, but the pathfinders that went there to open it disappeared. You found out that they had been kidnapped by a genie who is under the control of the some evil person. The genie was forced to ask you guys to further disparage the pathfinder name, but she was able to use some of her genie logic. to circumvent some of this and give you guys ulterior motives so that you could accomplish these tasks while actually helping the Pathfinder name. And you guys made a bunch of allies, you burned up a ship, you got a group of party goers that are gonna come to it, you got a storyteller that's gonna come to it, you got an ice method that's gonna come and keep the food chill. You've got a line in on all the best ingredients from the the little urchin in the market, know, market talk, paying off, know. So a lot of things went well for you guys. And it was left with you defeated the genie and she freed your pathfinders. And so then the next few months, we'll say one to two months, actually getting this lodge into functional order, actually getting it functioning and like the, the, all, all the desk and everything, this lodge, turning it into a lodge. There's a grand opening party that's going to be happening. And, but before we get to that, I did want to check in with all of your characters. What were they doing over the two months? Because I know one thing that they were doing at the very least was leveling up. ⁓ so yeah, let's have us a good old fashioned level up interlude app today. What do you
speaker-1: Level up the the classic loop L U I P the E no L U I E P. There it is.
speaker-0: The It's like a layout, but it's a Lua.
speaker-1: It's a it's a lup dude. Yeah. So who wants to start?
speaker-0: Yeah, yeah. Well, you spoke first, John, so you get to go.
speaker-1: Fine, I'll do it, I'll do it. I will tell you a bit about what I what I leveled up as first Amundo. Yeah. The big thing that I took away from level four barb is that there is not as much at level four as you would think.
speaker-0: Good. Yeah.
speaker-1: That's what I took away. ⁓ you get a skill feat and you get ⁓ another feat. But the the feet that you can choose sorry, class feet. Yeah, I'm still still getting used to the two E lingo. but they're not killer. You know what I'm saying? Like they're not like the most amazing thing. I I I took my my skill feet was powerful leap. I already had quick jump, so I'm just hella springy.
speaker-0: Peace. Yeah. That's a Tigger energy, you know.
speaker-1: One hundred percent. One hundred percent. And then, you know, the whole class is getting angry and attacking. And the way I'm I'm finding a lot of these class feats to pan out is you start your specialization early and like there's like one or two feats that work for each one. And there's not one that works for mine specifically as an elemental. but I did take swipe, which allows me to now Attack two adjacent enemies at once and deal the same damage.
speaker-0: That may not seem flashy, but is in fact, incredibly powerful. You know, like fair, fair, because you get to swing through with your full bonus, you know, right, And that's chunky. That's true. We're talking about five points difference.
speaker-1: Yeah yeah yeah. Yeah it's good, it's good. ⁓ so I'm happy about that. And that was kinda it. There's no skill update, there's no spell I need to work on.
speaker-0: Yeah. think everybody with level four, you know, I've been playing this game a little bit now. You know what I mean? ⁓ and it seems to me that level four is kind of for like shoring up any gaps in the early build because level five is a turning point, right? You get, you get your boost, your ability boost increases. So like it's a, it's a power jump. Like level five is kind of a new tier of levels. so level four to me kind of just feels like, all right, we're honing in your bass kit here, you know, before you ramp up for a power shift, you know.
speaker-1: Got it. Okay. That feels right. With that said, I want to go into what Tashi has been up to.
speaker-0: Okay, I do too.
speaker-1: Dude. Sweet man. You wanna join me there? See. I think that that she pretty immediately after that day long of adventure, you know, she is used to like the steady rhythmic like clang clang of the hammer and forge. And I think that the length of the journey to Sedek and the like that immediate full day of adventure is just A lot for her. You know, she only left not too long ago, maybe like t eight to twelve months, did she leave where she was and joined the Pathfinder Society, right? So for her, she is like now starting to work with these like new coworkers and Pathfinders, right? And she's starting to find that the like administrative aspect of her job. She's kinda like found it to be rough, let's say. She doesn't. She's she's also there's probably now some power dynamics I was thinking with the with the new crew that we freed. There's probably some like Well this is what I was doing. ⁓ well that would I you it's and and she's like she's
speaker-0: I just don't want to be behind a desk. If only I could break these chains of my son
speaker-1: I'm gonna re reforge the Pathfinder Society.
speaker-0: Re- I have forgotten my name! I am Tashi Chainbreaker! I need a...
speaker-1: Break the f chain! She is like she is pretty pissed about it. So I think one night after a dinner, after a week or so, she's like, hola, I'll see y'all in a little while. Don't wait up. She's kinda says to nobody. And she starts walking out. I know, it's fine.
speaker-0: That's cool.
speaker-2: No one's even working with you. You're working late into the night burning the banette oil and everyone's like ⁓
speaker-1: She's got it. It's fine. It's cool. No, I I think she's probably getting along well with with folks. J'ins inside. She's just she's feeling the chains. And ⁓ so she I think heads heads off to like one of the the parts of town, you know, she's been out and about doing some market talk and she's figured out where the industrial sections of the town are, right? And she's looking for those like forge fires that just burn all night. And I think I think she finds one. Next to a bunch of larger factories, there's a bit of an older, earlier precursor to that part of town. The the new things that are coming in. There's a little old, smaller village, I think of crafts people that
speaker-0: smelting is still smelting, you know what I mean?
speaker-1: Where the smell of the forge smells just as sh and she loves it, you know? I think I kind of envision it actually as like a common forge, like it's so big that you can like get stalls that you can work in. And I I I think it doesn't take her pretty long to find somebody who like maybe their youth is a little gone and she's a little older, but like th her relative youth can bring all those skills there, right? And I think she starts like moonlighting, making these like simple parts, straightforward things, vehicles, armor, maybe an occasional blade, maul or something, you know? And she loves that feeling. And then I think one night this happens over a couple weeks. One night she's headed home and she starts she's like taking a new way home. And she she hears sort of a different sort of rhythm. There's just like And she is like she kinda follows it like you do like the smell of pie from a window. She's like, What is that? This is a
speaker-0: What Nullify metal is that?
speaker-2: Just left on ⁓ like a Libratude scare.
speaker-0: Dude.
speaker-1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. ⁓ Pepper Le Pew. Yeah, exactly, exactly. ⁓ she I think starts to wander out, just makes her way down a few alleys and wanders out into the cool desert night. The the moon is nearly full, so there's a lot of light. And she sees a little light playing off in the distance behind a dune as she's at the edge of the city a little bit, a couple houses around. She just walks out and
speaker-2: So
speaker-1: She kinda crests the dune and to find the source of music and she sees some light flickering in this kinda little valley of sand. Adam, what does she what does she see?
speaker-0: you ⁓ she sees probably a dwarf, a catfolk human and Let's say another dwarf. Get some brothers. Get some dwarven brothers out there. I like it. And then you had ⁓ the cat folk is a female cat folk. OK. And she's kind of dancing and she has those finger symbols. Yeah. And so she's like adding this really like.
speaker-1: Got some dwarven brothers here. Okay. Yeah.
speaker-0: trancey like top rhythm over the bass booming of the drums that the dwarfs are playing. And the human is playing like a pan flute or ocarina type thing. Nice. Very like hollow, windy sound that's like... Yeah, yeah. You know, you guys seen Gangs of New York?
speaker-1: Right. ⁓ yeah.
speaker-0: So you know the opening sequence in that music that's like gets more and more ramped up as they're walking through the Barons? know, it's like the drums and that whistle just gets more and more like I don't work up intense. Oh, dude, like that is like that scene more than anything from that movie was driven into my head because it's you know, you got Liam Neeson just like walking through this. whatever this building that's halfway constructed and everybody's like getting pumped up for this big fight and these drums and this whistle is just over the top of it just doing this crazy psychotic loop that keeps getting like louder and louder and freakier and then boom they step out the door everything goes silent and you got the two gangs there it's awesome anyway that's what I'm that's
speaker-1: I I think you watch that almost as much as Dodgeball, bro. I think yeah that is that's the movie you followed in New York. I honestly forgot that Liam Nissan was that movie. Yeah. Classic, classic white noise, dude. It's a great Yeah, and then they go out the building and they they take it to those Globo Gym bads, right? Yeah. ⁓
speaker-0: That's what I go to sleep to. What ⁓ Yeah. So but but it's definitely a little bit more positive and festive But I would think I think that kind of intense like they I see crest the hill They're like building on the rhythms, you know, yeah kind of reaching this fever pitch and they're all around a fire and you hear the dwarves just like Laughing and bustling with energy, you know
speaker-1: Yeah.
speaker-0: as they're just pounding these, these tablets, you know?
speaker-1: I think she stands there and and starts to keep trying to say something, but the music changes and so she starts just walking towards closer over towards them. a little hesitant, wants to respect what's going on. Do any of them look up or are they just hanging out?
speaker-0: I maybe, right? Like you think you catch their eye, but they're also so like enraptured in this drum circle that they've created that it's like, they may have noticed you and aren't like you should leave, but aren't breaking their rhythm either. like you slightly acknowledged and it's like you choose what you're gonna do about it.
speaker-1: Is there an extra drum?
speaker-0: there is a broken tambourine.
speaker-1: So Amazing. Amazing. Alright. She I think she she picks up the tambourine and she does her best to hit it on beat with the Just like on the just like on the one, you know?
speaker-0: You See you already f***ed up, shouldn't be on the one, you know this. You know this, supposed to be on the two and four dude. Come on. It's not about me, it's not about me.
speaker-1: It's different.
speaker-2: I'm not going to any of John.
speaker-1: Yeah, that's it. Don't ever listen to my music 'cause I don't know what to do for it.
speaker-0: You heard it here first, John doesn't know how to music.
speaker-1: Don't know what I've got to do. Yeah, you're right. But
speaker-0: Let's get a roll. Let's get a roll. know, I would feel like performance would be the thing, but I don't necessarily know that you're not skilled in that. So I'm willing to entertain some other ideas here. What are your lores?
speaker-1: Ha ha ha Yeah, my lore in ⁓ metalworking, I think it is. Not that, yeah. Make it a tambourine.
speaker-0: Okay. No, there is a rhythm to the pounding that happens on a hand fill. You know, I'm going to set the DC higher than I would for a performance check, but I think you could roll that in like, especially since there's already this connection that you're feeling between your forging in this beat that you're feeling. You're hearing the beat of the forge is what I... and feeling here in the scene that's destroying you too. You have your hammer out already and all that kind of stuff. So you pick up the tambourine, let's get that roll.
speaker-1: get a roll going. I just rolled and I think it's a it's ⁓ it's a thirteen. It's not bad. It's not great. It's middling. Yeah, yeah.
speaker-0: Well, I gotta tell you, Tamar- That's broken. You- So here's the deal, you pick it up, and you're feeling the beat, but this tambourine is broken, and you just hit it a little too hard, and like, it kinda- it kinda breaks all the way, right? And the- It's like a record scratch. Everything stops. Screw it! You know? And they all turn and look at you. And then just look at you, kind of, yeah.
speaker-1: I'm sorry, ⁓ I want to join in. I maybe I can fix it. I I know how to fix a lot of things, right, right? So I can can definitely just ⁓ just take it with me and ⁓ I can bring back tomorrow night. You are you're here tomorrow night? I don't wanna interrupt anything. She likes j i just like stream of consciousness. You know?
speaker-0: I just... One of the one of the dwarfs holds up a thick rocky finger kind of like you know and He reaches behind him and pulls out another small drum And and hands it to you doesn't say anything and just hands it to you and then he starts going ⁓ And he looks at you like you know see what you can do right
speaker-1: Ooh. She's gonna do her best to match it. And this is like when you pretend that you don't know music, because I'd like to think I know music, but as we found out I don't. She tries to like match the beat. So I don't know if you want me to roll again, but
speaker-0: Yeah, I do want you to roll something here again. You can roll that that same skill if you want. ⁓
speaker-1: Coastal role like athletics? Is there like a
speaker-0: think athletics... yeah, we could do that. I'm good. That sounds good. Okay, okay. Let's try it.
speaker-1: So it's an eight for a total of a twenty.
speaker-0: A nice dirty 20.
speaker-1: A dirty twenty, she really starts to f feel like she can just close her eyes and try and listen to the forge, channel that same clangy that she's been getting her bac you know, getting back to.
speaker-0: Yeah, let's see here. Let's check the old DCs by level and see where you're at these days. ⁓ With a dirty 20, you actually do succeed here to match these rhythms. ⁓
speaker-1: Yeah, yeah.
speaker-0: And so that carries on, right? They get a little bit more complex, you start matching them, and then he starts playing counter rhythms to the rhythm that he's helped you build. And once that like locks in, and you know that vibe kind of gets back, he breaks a big smile and he says, ha ha ha, yes, the problem was that you were just playing an instrument far too small for somebody as statured as yourself. And let the rhythm take you.
speaker-4: Right. Right. Right.
speaker-1: And start playing again. Are ⁓ amazing, incredible, incredible. Yeah, no, I I think that was exactly it. It's exactly it.
speaker-0: Yeah, and so like, I think that you get like, kind of carried away in the rhythm and like the heat from the fire, like kind of flickering up against your face, you start sweating, you know, but like it's that type of sweat where you're like, it's almost primal that you're like, that sweat is alive on your skin and you're like, every drop that falls off the crest of your forehead you feel and it like feels good as it's running down your face and you're just beating these drums. and the smoke's in your face but you're not coughing it's almost like intoxicating you know and you believe like at the at the peak of it you're looking up the sky and you almost feel like the rhythms start to project this like image it like the stars start to shift and wiggle and you know you like you can almost see like shapes take form up there but then you know you blink your eyes and you're like, don't know, was that a trick of the smoke? What's the deal? You know, you don't know, but there was this moment that was almost transcendent at the top of the drum circle.
speaker-1: Man, this guy knows music, dude. He knows yeah, it's great. Yeah. I think that's that's what she does. I think we we fade from that scene and that's what she spends the her months doing. It's like working at the forge, relaxing at this drum circle, and I think just trying to be like be in that vibe and just let that drone continue through her continue through her work. So you took a level and barred? No. No, no.
speaker-0: you
speaker-1: yeah. So that's it.
speaker-0: But she did work up the reach of her arms on those drums. I did. I did. And so now she can cleave because she's a drummer.
speaker-1: She starts playing too. That's it. That's it. ⁓
speaker-0: As we all know, bro. That's how it works, you know? Like, I can hit a snare and a cymbal at the same time now. know, like...
speaker-1: Actually at different times, yeah. And a one-two, you know what I'm saying? And a three-four. There it is. That's it. That's it. Yeah.
speaker-0: Yeah. Yeah. at my full beat attack bonus
speaker-1: ⁓ that's it. ⁓
speaker-0: ⁓ Alright, so yeah, you come out of that and what your drummer now is that we try to tell me
speaker-1: That's what I'm trying to tell ya. I I liked to imagine that she either started to play with them so much that they that like she really felt like she was part of their band, or maybe she started to join a different band and she was like looking for that and had that opportunity. But I think
speaker-0: You were talking about starting up a band with those I can't remember if it was the Merman that you talked to or if it was the crew not crew Yeah, they get the captive crew, yeah
speaker-1: Yeah. Yeah. So maybe they come around and if they're there, you know, we just we have a drum start.
speaker-0: They're partiers, but I think maybe you got the idea for the band. You're like, ⁓ maybe I could make this band called, what did you say? Something cosmic shrimp or some something like that.
speaker-1: Did not say cosmic crap, but that's a good I feel like I feel like she would feel something more like forgy, like I think I I had written down a band name with like Fire Tusk or something, you know? Like Yeah yeah yeah, yeah.
speaker-0: So you are doing low-fi metal.
speaker-1: I'm definitely doing love by metal, dude.
speaker-0: Check it
speaker-1: As soon as this hits the webs, dude, AI's gonna pick it up.
speaker-0: to it. That's how we'll know. Wouldn't that be crazy if they like came up and you like fired, Tashi's lament. ⁓
speaker-1: And you're like there's one song, that's it. And it starts with a tambourine breaking. Yeah, that's it.
speaker-0: Yeah. Alright, was that the extent of your interlude?
speaker-1: I yeah, I think so. That that feels like her journey back to her true self, you know. Dude, appreciate you. Thank you. Thank you for
speaker-0: Hero point. For that. who's next? Well we got two visual cues of not it, which leaves Kelly, you're one.
speaker-1: That's right.
speaker-2: You're left. I didn't see though. ⁓ man. ⁓
speaker-1: Okay.
speaker-0: You did it, but too late.
speaker-2: Well, Mirage during this time, what what he's doing is he's trying to get the the ⁓ the lodge building up to you know, up to up to snuff for like upcoming events and stuff. And he wants to make a very positive impression in the community because like four Pathfinders, you know, in order to, you know, just make them like well liked and and received here. ⁓ also being minor nobility as he is, and part of the reason he's out here, is to just become more worldly. ⁓ so that he can lead his small amount of people more effectively in in diplomacy and other things in the future. So what he's doing, ⁓ is he's at immediately around the lodge trying to build it, put it together. So he's enlisting the help of many creatures around there, being a druid. ⁓ he's also ⁓ Trying to resolve disputes because what he's found out, there's a lot of territorial territorial disputes around this lodge. Like these cats arguing with other cats about who can get like, you know, sunlight, you know, spots like the prime times of day and stuff.
speaker-0: Is it like the woodland creatures from South Park that they're actually all demons? I can help you as much as we can, hellsatan! Let's build a house! I think an altar to Asmatis would look wonderful right here, don't you?
speaker-1: The altar.
speaker-2: That's true. Maraji has found that like the local fauna are like definitely leagues more in like dickish than like where he's from for sure. So he's doing that. He's resolving disputes, you know, trying to like, you know, like you know, make everyone get along around here so that this place is undisturbed. and also being a healer in the community and trying to make a good name for for the Pathfinders, he's helping out ⁓ at like the local hospital and stuff. So they call him Doctor Miragi, which is very nice, but the problem is is that
speaker-0: They call him Dr. Mirage and he has the Isle of Dr. Mirage and it's all the critters that he's turning into.
speaker-1: And no one else no one else could call
speaker-2: I don't like
speaker-0: I'm solving critters disputes.
speaker-1: Have you read ⁓ that's a reference to to Island of Dove.
speaker-2: ⁓ man. Yeah.
speaker-0: Dr. Monroe. ⁓ yeah, yeah. Thanks. We need to make sure we spell that out,
speaker-2: CBH, ⁓ like I you know, you were talking earlier about Nickelodeon and stuff. Like I I basically watched cartoons only growing up and I never really so I was a cartoon network kid. I don't know anything about regular movies and stuff, so please tell me references because I don't know.
speaker-0: Alright, well tell them Dr. Marais is about.
speaker-1: It's an evil doctor that like to like ⁓ it was basically Frankenstein creatures together, right? Yeah. Yeah.
speaker-2: ⁓ it's like that one movie from ⁓ Spy Kids, got it. All right, so it's ⁓ Spy Kids too. All right.
speaker-1: So then ⁓
speaker-0: They ripped off Spikey's tooth. I was acting the rest.
speaker-1: ⁓ my god. ⁓
speaker-0: Yeah
speaker-2: so Dr. Miragi's has been very helpful at this hospital, but the problem is is that he doesn't understand common very well, as has kind of been established. So the the idioms are kind of really giving him no and and ⁓ to stress. So people would be like, ⁓ break a leg, Dr. Miragi, and he just like starts sweating because he doesn't know what the hell they're talking about. And he'll they'll be like, ⁓ this this patient's feeling under the weather, and he'll be like, But he
speaker-4: He's inside here.
speaker-2: He's not outside in like all these kinds of things. So it's stressing him out. She's got a heart of gold. And like it's it's stressing him out, but he's getting through it. He's trying to learn like common speak. So this is basically what he's been up to. And ⁓ you know, tapping into his druid stuff, what what we have definitely not seen from Whisk, who is his companion, is that Whisk really hasn't been getting involved in in battle kind of at all. ⁓ but ⁓ He has been training Wisk a lot. So ⁓ speaking of leveling up, Wisk is now a mature animal companion. Which means that Wisk can act on her own. ⁓ and I don't Miragi does not have to spend an action ⁓ to command her to do things.
speaker-0: And she's a medium-sized creature now. She's bigger than... Fib!
speaker-2: Yeah, she's also grown. Yeah, so you know, be nice to raise Yeah. another thing that Mirage has is for his skill feats, he's acquired Ward Medic. ⁓ which is just another useful battle medicine thing, for example, in battle medicine. So you can trul in at this level I can he can heal up to two targets. and yeah. And That's basically what Miragi has been up to. ⁓ he's also ⁓ now an expert level in medicine as well as nature. Nice.
speaker-0: ⁓ way to bury the lead!
speaker-1: Yeah. So
speaker-2: ⁓ sorry.
speaker-0: Dude, X-ray and medicine? Game breaking. Forget about it. Forget about it. Secrets unlocked. No, that's great. I like that from Raji. to, you know, getting like kind of a cultural exchange back and forth through the means of treating people at a hospital. think that's pretty notable. And for that... Please. I'll
speaker-2: ⁓ ahead. No, I wanna know I don't know what's going on. Also, why is my HP forty it's
speaker-1: ⁓ Forty eight. I thought it was forty eight now.
speaker-0: Yeah, so you're getting your point for being a
speaker-2: I got a hero point. Woo. Wait, so ⁓ do I have two or three? 'Cause I had two.
speaker-1: Same with me. I was at two.
speaker-2: ⁓ really? He's saving lives. Are you with me now? Nice. Okay, there's one thing that I probably fed up though. So, like leveling up, I I don't know, but I had an extra spell slot that was just there under second rank. So I thought that maybe I was allowed to add one, but I'm not sure if I can at level four or not. But I added one. If I need to remove it, I'll do it. But I added summon animal, because I like animals. And I just want animals to flood the battleground. it was there, so I filled it in, but double check if I'm allowed.
speaker-0: think that's probably accurate. Okay, Yeah.
speaker-1: Okay. Yeah. Sick.
speaker-0: Very, very nice. all right. Kevin or will. We're rock, we're Rochambeau and folks here we go. Oh, you guys are doing this very- Y'all calm down, guys are out here just pissing yourselves. Pissing yourselves. That escalates.
speaker-1: ⁓ yeah.
speaker-2: Yeah, sure can.
speaker-1: Whoa. Two one shoot. Two one lag.
speaker-2: Still doing phrasing?
speaker-0: We got two papers and two scissors in a row.
speaker-1: One more three two one
speaker-2: Doing this over like video calls.
speaker-1: Ha ha ha ha. Yeah. Dogs stand up and turn around when we shoot. But I think I think we're just gonna I think what it's gonna do is it like the the camera pulls back from ⁓ Dr. Miragi and and ⁓ whisk and it's gonna just kind of like up in the sky and then like come back down into this very busy village of these large rhino folks that are just like wandering around doing whatever people do in the village, you know? Like there's there's the the local shop and there's the the priest and all this other stuff and everything else.
speaker-0: Yeah.
speaker-1: ⁓ and you realize that they're they're not that big as a cat passes by and the cat is, you know, half the size of one of these rhinos. and y that's when Shelly comes walking in to the little village. So you realize the entire village is the camera zooms out just a little bit, just like to real to actually get them in proportion. But ⁓ she's gonna w wander into this this village. it's her tribe, it's it's where she's from. And people recognize her and they say, you know, welcome back, welcome back. Except for they're all doing it psychically. So nobody's saying anything out loud. And and Shelly she's been away from her village for so long that she's kind of loudly saying back, ⁓ hi. and she's she's almost forgotten to talk the way that they do. 'Cause in in the Kashriishi or c is it yeah, Kashriishi ⁓ culture, they they're they're psychically in in tuned. ⁓ and their names are even psychically embedded that they don't they don't
speaker-0: Hey!
speaker-1: Like she took the name Shelly for other cultures for the outside. ⁓ so internally her her we can't even discuss what her name is, you know, but her f her f neighbors all know that. ⁓ and so yeah, she she just returns home for, you know, a couple of weeks and she finds her mom and dad. And I think there's a really beautiful scene where she just walks in and they're happy and they come to hug her, but instead of doing like an open hug like we're used to, I think they all just kind of touch horns.
speaker-0: You
speaker-1: And their their glow kind of sh shimmers in different colors, like but like in unison. she kinda just she spends her her, you know, two weeks
speaker-0: 7 Ink Captain Planet
speaker-1: Right. Yeah. Just visiting her village. And I think one of the things that she learned from that visit was really getting back in touch with her psychic energy. And so she took a psychic dedication of tangible tangible I forget what it's called. I had it up somewhere. Yes, the tangible dream.
speaker-2: Dream.
speaker-0: tangible dream. That's a good band name too.
speaker-1: That is also
speaker-0: ⁓ Okay, well, so you took a psychic dedication instead of another Magus feat, Magus feat, ⁓ which gives you a cantrips.
speaker-1: Yes. And and being her name is Shellback mostly because of the large shield on her back, but ⁓ now she has a psychic ability to psychically amp up the spell shield. ⁓ that's so she's able to use the shield spell, but it actually has three layers, ⁓ so it's very powerful.
speaker-0: Yeah, it lasts longer. It's it can it can take a couple hits. It's all it's all juicy and she can shield an ally with it as well. That's right. ⁓ Yeah. So I mean, I will say that your your family was glad to see you. Right. And whenever you're leaving, let's say your mom is like in your mind, Charlie, why are you leaving?
speaker-1: Well w Mom, well y you know, I I still have a job to do. I am ⁓
speaker-0: Well, isn't your job to stay here and love your mother?
speaker-1: Well of course, Mom, I'll always love you.
speaker-0: I seem like it the way you keep leaving here.
speaker-1: I I still have two more years of conscription.
speaker-0: ⁓ there he is, using those big fancy words.
speaker-1: Mm to go.
speaker-0: Good for us back here at the tribe, huh? Shall we?
speaker-1: I'll I'll be back. My home d my home is where my heart is, mom, and you have my heart.
speaker-0: You're breaking mine.
speaker-1: I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Mom.
speaker-0: Wait, I'm s- no. I'm proud of you, Shelly. I'm sorry. I just- I hate to see you go.
speaker-1: Well I I will I will be back, I promise, mama. I promise big promises. Cross my horn and hope to come back.
speaker-0: Do promise? Paying me on your horn? And hope to sign. And hope to sign. Alright. Your dad doesn't say much, he loves you too, Shelly. He wants you back here too.
speaker-2: Yeah. ⁓
speaker-1: I know mama, I can hear it in my head.
speaker-0: I don't ever stop hearing show don't ever stop
speaker-1: ⁓ love mama. You also your titles on Riverside for Kelly put doctor, expert in medicine, and be a but drummer for Kelly put psychic Rommies Girl.
speaker-0: Alright, yeah, hero! TAKE ME BALL
speaker-2: But I think.
speaker-0: Alright, well that leaves us with you, Will. Yeah.
speaker-1: So Fibbelthrop Dextronius Billiams the Third has been ⁓ hitting the town in search of food. He's sort of like haunted by the aroma of the stew that he missed out on and he's he's been like wanting to taste that or something similar. So he's going to like every shop, every food you know spot, every pub. Doing some crowd work, you know, comedian stuff. and yeah, he's he's working on his skills for for opening up the the lodge and trying to meet, you know, local vendors and getting to know people. And yeah. He's he's just out on the town trying to he's he's being he's embracing his goblin foodie while also embracing his barredness.
speaker-0: Yeah. What do you think is the spiciest thing that he's come across? What's spiciest dish?
speaker-1: I mean there's gotta be like a curried, ⁓ hot flavored stew that he's just like guzzled down. Yeah. Exactly the name, but you know, it could it's I'm sure there's like
speaker-0: Yeah He was like walking through the market one day. for Yeah, just looking for stuff. And there was this vendor there that you hadn't seen in a while. Hey, hey. Let's go. like you can chew on a stick of dynamite. Come on.
speaker-1: For rare chill. ⁓ yeah, I I will definitely chew on that. What what do we got?
speaker-0: going on? think that you are precious? Do you think that you can withstand the challenge of the carnificaree? What? ⁓ Okay, I need you to sign a waiver before I give you this bowl. Is this the fucking...
speaker-1: ⁓ yes. ⁓
speaker-0: Can I roll? You have to find out what's going to happen. But I do need you to sign this waiver. Can I roll? What the f*** is on this waiver? Yeah, mean you can roll a society check.
speaker-1: Roll this wave. And that is how Fib took profession lawyer.
speaker-0: You could also roll a nature check against this. know, find it.
speaker-1: Actions.
speaker-0: That would be skills. The Purple Hand.
speaker-1: The purple hand. Which one am I rolling? Stop.
speaker-0: Let's go with society. Society. Society. Society. Society. Society. Society. ⁓
speaker-1: Recall knowledge What's subsist? it's under recall knowledge?
speaker-0: No, no, no. You are not trained in it, though, that's for sure. ⁓ So it's just gonna be a plot. Yeah. Let's see what happens here.
speaker-1: Yeah, I see it. Plus one. Roll.
speaker-2: Twenty. Twenty is everywhere.
speaker-1: That's twelve.
speaker-0: Yeah, you're looking over this document and I mean it seems like a normal waiver, but it's written in this like, labyrinthine legalese that just kind of glaze over the finer the print gets.
speaker-1: ⁓ man. ⁓ I I really should check with my lawyer before I
speaker-0: Don't bring a lawyer into this, it is fine, is just in case your face falls out
speaker-1: Recall knowledge about this particular Is it like Yeah. Is it anna or a cult?
speaker-0: Yeah, I mean, is our- No, it's- You're not gonna be good at anything. You can roll- We can go with medicine, I think would be your best- best shot here. Okay. Just to see if it's poison, you know? Yeah.
speaker-1: The h here. ⁓ Mm-hmm. Yeah. No.
speaker-0: Roll it, right? ⁓ I mean, you just rolled it, ⁓ secret, which is fine, which is fine. Just makes this more fun. yeah, it's like, you think it makes fine. Yeah. You think that the waiver and this, that you've heard of this dish, you know that people have eaten it before. And know what I mean? Like it's not outlawed, but right. you do have.
speaker-1: Okay.
speaker-0: Yeah, it's like, you know, if you were to go to like a pepper eating contest, they're going to make you sign a waiver. know, that's kind of kind of feels like the level of danger that you're in right now based on the knowledge check that you just rolled that you don't know what
speaker-1: Amazing. Let's do it.
speaker-0: Yes, alright, alright, alright. Everybody, gather round! We are heart-ache contender!
speaker-1: ⁓
speaker-0: Gather, gather, gather, yes, yes, he is about to try the carnivorous curry. It has been months since we have had a challenger. Now, if you can succeed in eating this entire bowl, it is on me. If not, you are alone, ten gold. ho ho ho. Alright, that seems a little, that seems a little spicy. Alright, five gold. And turn this- If you eat it the whole thing about one go I will supply you a more moderate Spiced version of this curry for your party. That's up kind of
speaker-1: Okay. Okay. But we're we're talking like two gold, right? That's correct. Yeah, that's fair.
speaker-0: Do not get it. Yes, he is a wise challenger indeed. Alright, everybody. You will sweat just from watching this. So, pull out your handkerchiefs and your scarves. Pull out your water skins if you have them but do not offer them to the challenger he must endure this with no assistance And he like takes two giant ladles slaps it into this wooden Dip bowl no rice. It's just straight curry All right, I'm gonna need a fortitude save
speaker-1: You see sever s several people turn over their canteens of water and just pour it on the ground. They're like, there's a lot running on this guy's. Yeah, yeah, there is. We for the party, bro. Come on. What's your role? What's your role? What's your role?
speaker-0: It's a good thing. You have a hero point.
speaker-1: Yeah, I'm gonna use that hero point.
speaker-0: Cause I was at 13, folks. At 13. We want FIF- We want FIF to make it into the next scenario, so...
speaker-1: Total. ⁓ And not a little role in her character? Let's see, let's see, let's see. What is that, what is that?
speaker-0: There we go. All right. Yeah. What'd you roll? All right. right. So that is a success. All right.
speaker-1: Funny solid.
speaker-0: I will behind the curtain. I put this at a hard DC. So you were looking at a 22 to hit Wow You almost critically failed it on that first roll You succeed all right you eat the whole bowl, but you are going to take 1d6 of internal fire damage
speaker-1: ⁓ my god.
speaker-0: Ouch. And then we'll check in with you in about six hours, because you'll take another D6 of external fire damage. Alright, so you're take five points of fire damage ⁓ as your gut, like, so you get through the first couple bites, it actually tastes really good, alright, but then the heat starts to build, you know, and your face gets redder than Kevin's is right now, and then redder even still, and you start to feel as if there are tiny little miniature versions of yourself scratching to get out of your esophagus as it's being drowned by Mike.
speaker-1: ⁓ my god.
speaker-0: Your skin feels like it's like doing push-ups off of your skull. You know what I mean? Like, what other terrible metaphors can I come up with here on the jump? You'd rather have a toothpick driven under your toenail than the pain that you are experiencing as this courses through your digestive system. What? It's the carnivorous curry.
speaker-1: Is this bad? But you finished it.
speaker-0: But like he's like And there's like down like to probably the last three bites at this point the crowd is all around just like on bated breath cheering him on You know, there's like side bets going on you can see some people like sweat and like is he gonna make it? Is he not gonna make it? You know, he's all fibs just shaking with these laughs comes gets another bite
speaker-2: That's pretty cool.
speaker-1: Yeah, good chili.
speaker-0: Cheers and booze depending on what you bet it on in the crowd and like that that third to last bite like literally just water just starts pouring out of...Fib's eyes. And like that those tears are so saturated with pepper that it's like burning your cheeks as it goes down you know. It's like if John touched your cat you know. It's pretty similar to John's cat pink eye is what you're experiencing.
speaker-1: Before I Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, thank you.
speaker-0: ⁓ You get to that second last bite and like at this point you'd like your nose is just dripping like get your spoon up to it and starts like dripping onto the thing. You take that last bite again cheers and everything and then let's take look like we're having fun here let's get one more fortitude save for that last bite. Because you're gonna take the last bite but let's see how it goes.
speaker-1: Yeah, I did.
speaker-0: Look at this!
speaker-2: ⁓
speaker-0: 20 a natural 20. That's what it's critical and like That third bite before you scoop it up you like just like I just tell me how you center yourself, you know
speaker-1: I'm I'm s eyeing up the spoon.
speaker-0: I'm gonna... ...tuck everyone around... ...and I go.
speaker-1: Of course it's gonna go down. Come on, cat why why was this even a question? Knock it back.
speaker-0: nice just like and throw this into the ground like drop walk yeah walk away I'll see you at the party
speaker-1: Yeah. I hope you guys all stop by the lodge for the for this puff curry party.
speaker-0: Hell yeah, go and take that. Curry party! Go ahead and that hero point back there, Will.
speaker-1: Amazing. Amazing.
speaker-0: Alright, so our four heroes have done some personal development, personal growth over the last month and a half, ⁓ to varying degrees, ⁓ but they're all a little wiser. up, bro? ⁓ yeah, by the way, you leveled up, so what would happen? How did this pepper stew enhance your powers?
speaker-1: This this peppered gave me the sort of the blistering invective that I need to really put the heat down on on my enemies with my ⁓ blistering sort of words.
speaker-0: You got that directed audience which seems fitting given that you put on a show, you know So you you can burp in a much more controlled emanation
speaker-1: What else should I do? Yeah. Yes, exactly. Yep. so I took yeah, directed audience, ⁓ triumphant boast. Another skill feat that I took. ⁓ so I can demoralize people with like I can tell them tell them about how they're not as spicy as this girl.
speaker-0: Like you took that last You demoralize the merchant who thought for sure he was gonna have another victim to the... and he's like, no! I must make this spice of your heart something I... No! This can't be! How did you do it? Tell me! Your guts must be so fortuitous!
speaker-1: Yeah, I'm an iron gut goblin.
speaker-0: I should have known. Jesus! No, I'm just kidding.
speaker-1: I didn't cheat you that demand.
speaker-0: Alright, well done. guys have this this little interlude this whole time for yourselves, but the grand opening does approach. So, I will say a month and a half has passed and the lodge is like, is put together. It's ready to go. You know, we're 24 hours out from at the start of this party and you guys each, get two letters. Well, you one letter with another letter attached to it. And this is sent to you, Tashi. All right, and I'm going to give you this letter for you to read. If you don't mind.
speaker-1: So one is sent to Tashi.
speaker-0: They're both sent to you. ⁓ One is included with another letter. Like somebody wrote a letter and then sent you a letter. You'll see. You'll see. Let's start with this handout if you would read it.
speaker-1: Mr. Swatney. ⁓ should I read the top versus instructions? Instructions from Venture Captain Karate.
speaker-0: Bye. Reminder for our cast and listeners that is your ⁓ captain of the Pathfinder Society. is who you report to. He's the one who gives you directives and missions.
speaker-1: Got it. Okay. Cool. My friends. I'm afraid there's nothing for it. These negotiations are simply I'm gonna pick a voice for him. These negotiations are simply too time sensitive for me to slip away to Sadek for the week. I must leave the role of host at our new lodge's grand opening in your capable hands. Don't worry, all the arrangements have already been made. All you need to worry about is Is playing nice with the guests when they arrive, tell some good stories, work the crowd, make sure everybody has a good time, and most importantly, make a good impression. Remember, most of this crowd agreed to come so they could judge the medal of the Pathfinder Society with their own two eyes. The friends you win today could make all the difference for our future prospects here. Good luck. Venture Captain Smael Ebine Khan. Karate. PS I forwarded a request from Venture Captain Fola Barun, leader of the Envoys Alliance, who wants you to make some new friends for the society. Please do your best to fulfill her needs. to avoid making mistakes, maybe just be sure to mingle and learn what you can about our guests. Work first, then enjoy the party.
speaker-0: you and included in this envelope is this letter from a fall of our own yes would you like me to do a voice for this one you can do you could do you can do you can do a voice this is just a different person this is full of so what how do you think full of sounds like full like
speaker-1: Alliance. Sure. I'm just gonna go with my gut. Esmail, I hope this letter finds you well. For that matter, I hope it finds you at all. I know how easy it is to mislay things while running hither and yawn the way that you do. I just wanted to remind you of the honored guests that we discussed who are interested in the lodge opening. We burned quite a few favours, getting all of them to agree to an appearance, so let's try and get our fair share of the bargain. Yes? Look there's three in particular who I believe are already inclined to favor us. They just need a little nudge to seal the deal. Kendesh Al Marin's little sibling, Krat, the historian Kasira Bintmeiji, and Sir Agdal Karga, head priest of the shrine of the cleansing flame. We need to dig our roots into the local culture as soon as possible, lest all the The good that we've fostered dry up and just get blown away into the desert. If you find the chance to make a good impression on those three during the party, then take it yours.
speaker-4: Foda.
speaker-1: So we got some.
speaker-0: Yeah, go ahead. Yeah. The, ⁓ what the setup for this next scenario is just that it, you have been tasked with making sure that all of the representatives that come from the different branches of society here in Kadira to the lodge, you make a good impression and get your foot built into the society here by showing these people a good time at your party. And so the world's craziest party is gonna start next time. We'll see ya. That's our gags.
speaker-1: Yes. Yes. Wow dude. Woohoo. Incredible. Thank you, mommy Adam. That was fantastic. You've just entrusted a doctor, a drummer, a a spicy food champion, and a psychic mommy's girl to throw the world's best party.
speaker-0: I like how you guys grow.
speaker-1: Yeah. We are brand new. We are we are we are good to go. That was awesome.
speaker-0: Level 4 looks good on you guys.
speaker-1: Yeah it does.
