00:00:01.360 --> 00:00:16.320
If you felt lonely, isolated, disconnected, with an empty feeling inside and just yearning for more, knowing something is missing, then this podcast is for you.
00:00:16.559 --> 00:00:20.239
So here's your host, Joe Mittigan.
00:00:27.600 --> 00:00:30.719
Hello and welcome to We.
00:00:32.719 --> 00:00:37.359
There have been so many times in my life when I've doubted myself.
00:00:37.840 --> 00:00:39.679
Not because I wasn't trying.
00:00:40.240 --> 00:00:42.880
Not because I didn't want my life to get better.
00:00:43.520 --> 00:00:48.880
But because quite honestly, change for me can be really scary.
00:00:49.600 --> 00:00:59.439
And sometimes, just when I think I'm beginning to understand who I am and where my life is going, something changes again.
00:00:59.840 --> 00:01:08.239
A relationship changes, my work changes, my dreams change, the people around me change, the world changes.
00:01:08.480 --> 00:01:12.239
And sometimes I have to change too.
00:01:13.040 --> 00:01:21.280
For most of my life, I thought something was really wrong with me when I felt afraid during those moments.
00:01:22.239 --> 00:01:31.760
I actually thought, you know, maybe if I was just stronger, more confident, or more spiritually connected, I wouldn't doubt myself so much.
00:01:32.560 --> 00:01:36.319
But I'm beginning to understand something very different.
00:01:37.120 --> 00:01:39.280
Maybe, just maybe.
00:01:39.599 --> 00:01:44.319
Self-doubt doesn't always mean I'm going in the wrong direction.
00:01:45.359 --> 00:01:52.959
Sometimes I doubt myself because I'm being asked to become someone I've never been before.
00:01:53.359 --> 00:01:56.400
And quite honestly, that's scary.
00:01:57.120 --> 00:02:02.159
Because the person I used to be knew how to live the life I used to have.
00:02:02.879 --> 00:02:09.280
But that person doesn't always know how to live the life that is unfolding in front of me right now.
00:02:09.840 --> 00:02:14.000
That requires growth, it requires courage.
00:02:14.319 --> 00:02:19.439
And for me, quite honestly, it requires a tremendous amount of faith.
00:02:20.080 --> 00:02:25.599
Today, instead of asking myself, why does my life keep changing?
00:02:25.840 --> 00:02:33.599
I'm learning to ask, who is my higher power guiding me to become through this change?
00:02:34.879 --> 00:02:38.800
The question has begun to change everything for me.
00:02:39.520 --> 00:02:44.719
Because maybe I don't have to know exactly where my life is going.
00:02:45.520 --> 00:02:49.039
Maybe I don't have to have every answer.
00:02:49.599 --> 00:02:55.599
Maybe I don't have to feel completely confident before I take the next step.
00:02:56.400 --> 00:02:58.400
Maybe, just maybe.
00:02:58.560 --> 00:03:02.560
I simply need to have enough faith to keep moving forward.
00:03:03.360 --> 00:03:12.639
Because every time my life has changed, I've eventually discovered something about myself that I couldn't see before.
00:03:13.439 --> 00:03:16.879
I discover strength I didn't know I had.
00:03:17.280 --> 00:03:20.719
I discover courage beneath all my fear.
00:03:21.280 --> 00:03:26.000
I discovered dreams I didn't know I was capable of pursuing.
00:03:26.639 --> 00:03:37.759
And most importantly, I began discovering that an abundant life isn't necessarily a life where nothing changes.
00:03:38.479 --> 00:03:47.199
Maybe an abundant life is a life where I learn to trust myself while everything is changing.
00:03:47.520 --> 00:03:52.800
A life where I stop allowing fear to decide who I can become.
00:03:53.120 --> 00:04:02.159
A life where I trust that my higher power may see possibilities for me that I still can't see for myself.
00:04:02.560 --> 00:04:05.360
Today we're going to talk about self-doubt.
00:04:05.520 --> 00:04:09.360
We're going to talk about why change can feel so frightening.
00:04:09.599 --> 00:04:19.279
And we're going to talk about why becoming someone new can make us question ourselves, even when our lives are actually moving forward.
00:04:19.839 --> 00:04:41.519
We're going to talk about how emotional and spiritual transformation can help us stop being afraid of who we're becoming, begin feeling, believing in ourselves, and trust that there may be an abundant life waiting on the other side of the changes we're so afraid to make.
00:04:42.000 --> 00:04:49.680
Because maybe, just maybe, the question isn't how do I stop my life from changing?
00:04:50.319 --> 00:05:02.959
Maybe the question is, can I trust my higher power, believe in myself, and keep becoming the person I was created to be, even when I'm scared?
00:05:03.199 --> 00:05:06.879
My name is Joe Mittigga, and this is We.
00:05:08.399 --> 00:05:10.160
Welcome to We, everybody.
00:05:10.399 --> 00:05:13.839
It is an amazing night here in Atlanta, Georgia.
00:05:14.079 --> 00:05:16.000
It's kind of an exciting time of year.
00:05:16.319 --> 00:05:17.279
Super hot here.
00:05:17.439 --> 00:05:20.319
I mean, I don't know, 100 degrees or something like that.
00:05:20.560 --> 00:05:22.240
But it's football season.
00:05:22.399 --> 00:05:29.439
And even though I'm not really a big sports fan, my son is, so we connect through sports all the time.
00:05:29.600 --> 00:05:35.600
And you know, today or yesterday, or I think this weekend, it's Labor Day here in the U.S.
00:05:35.920 --> 00:05:39.439
I believe this was the opening weekend for college football.
00:05:39.680 --> 00:05:40.800
So it's kind of fun.
00:05:40.879 --> 00:05:45.920
You know, the whole world of college sports is is exciting.
00:05:46.079 --> 00:05:47.439
And it's new in our world.
00:05:47.519 --> 00:05:53.040
My oldest son, as a lot of you know, if you've been around for a while, is a collegiate athlete.
00:05:53.199 --> 00:05:57.519
He's in his first year playing college baseball, and he's having a great time with it.
00:05:57.680 --> 00:06:00.319
And, you know, life just continues to unfold.
00:06:00.480 --> 00:06:01.360
It really does.
00:06:01.680 --> 00:06:08.639
This is the you know, a perfect topic, this self-doubt thing associated with change.
00:06:08.800 --> 00:06:15.680
And I have to tell you, we're gonna get into dive deep into a lot of my changes over the over the years.
00:06:15.839 --> 00:06:27.439
It's so interesting because everything I'm doing now, this this podcast for sure, is a huge change in my life that literally started about a year ago, right now, about 11 months ago.
00:06:27.519 --> 00:06:38.480
We launched our first episode in November of 2025, but you know, the whole process started while I was watching uh a Wisconsin football game.
00:06:38.639 --> 00:06:47.040
And I'll tell that story here a little bit later, but it's interesting how it's all full circle and you know the doubts still happen, and we're all human.
00:06:47.120 --> 00:06:48.160
And I'm gonna talk about that.
00:06:48.240 --> 00:06:49.680
I'm gonna talk about what do we do.
00:06:49.839 --> 00:07:02.240
I'm gonna talk about how do we address the doubts, the fears, the concerns, and be able to move forward anyways, because the whole I can't move forward isn't true.
00:07:02.800 --> 00:07:11.439
It's created because you don't have the techniques necessary to find the voices, the guidance system that helps you move forward.
00:07:11.680 --> 00:07:19.920
And you know, we live in a world where so many people just say, go get them, tiger, do it anyway, get at get off the couch and go do it.
00:07:20.160 --> 00:07:27.680
Well, they don't help you identify why you're stuck on the couch, and we're gonna talk about that today.
00:07:28.000 --> 00:07:33.279
Because fear and doubt and self-doubt, it's a human experience, folks.
00:07:33.439 --> 00:07:34.399
It just is.
00:07:34.639 --> 00:07:41.920
And I can tell you, depending on where your life is, if you're going through massive changes, there's gonna be a bunch of it.
00:07:42.079 --> 00:07:45.120
If you're in the depths of the dark, there's gonna be a bunch of it.
00:07:45.360 --> 00:07:52.800
If you're in a really challenging, emotional, I can't breathe type of pain, there's going to be a lot of self-doubt.
00:07:52.959 --> 00:07:53.759
There is.
00:07:54.399 --> 00:07:59.600
And I'm gonna give you techniques throughout this episode to keep moving forward, anyways.
00:07:59.759 --> 00:08:11.759
And if you're on the other side of life where everything's great and your world's wonderful, and you've got more money than month, and your partnership actually is working and everything's great, but you know there's something else that needs to happen.
00:08:12.000 --> 00:08:18.800
There's not near the fear, there's not near the the torturous fear, but it can still be scary.
00:08:18.959 --> 00:08:23.439
It can still be anytime we do something new, a lot of times, they're scary, it's scary.
00:08:23.680 --> 00:08:25.199
So we're gonna talk about that today.
00:08:25.360 --> 00:08:32.399
We really are, and I'm gonna I'm gonna bring the human element into fear and just kind of talk you through it.
00:08:32.559 --> 00:08:39.360
Tell you what I did, tell you what some other people have done, and you know, just keep having conversations.
00:08:39.519 --> 00:08:42.000
So I want to welcome everybody from around the world.
00:08:42.240 --> 00:08:46.320
I still am kind of in shock, quite honestly.
00:08:46.559 --> 00:08:51.440
It's kind of an awe to me how the Wii podcast is literally exploding.
00:08:51.600 --> 00:08:54.559
My son, every once in a while, asks me, So, Dad, how's it going?
00:08:54.799 --> 00:08:57.360
I said, Well, bud, you know, it's doing really good.
00:08:57.519 --> 00:09:11.200
And he says, he listens, but he said he can't listen to my voice, so he double times the speed and he kind of listens to it in the background, and he'll ask me questions because you know he hears me on both sides, and it's kind of cool that he's listening.
00:09:11.440 --> 00:09:13.919
It can be a little uncomfortable, obviously.
00:09:14.080 --> 00:09:28.559
You know, I'm here to be as open and as honest and as intimate as I can, and knowing my kids are hearing all my dirty laundry, it's fine, you know, they're old enough, and it's it's a humbling experience, I have to tell you.
00:09:28.720 --> 00:09:43.679
And I want to welcome people around the world: Norway, United Kingdom, Canada, Kenya, Malaysia, Germany, South Korea, to name a few, Australia, New Zealand, Oman, Jamaica.
00:09:43.919 --> 00:09:46.000
I mean, it's just bizarre.
00:09:46.320 --> 00:09:54.240
And it's kind of interesting because as this whole process unfolds, I've never really been able to see my download numbers.
00:09:54.399 --> 00:09:57.600
I don't really know how many people are actually listening.
00:09:57.759 --> 00:10:01.039
I see rate, I see ratings, rankings, right?
00:10:01.279 --> 00:10:11.679
So naturally, if you're in the top global rankings, which the Wii Podcast has been in the top 200 for a couple months, top 100 for the past month, it means a bunch of people are listening.
00:10:11.759 --> 00:10:13.039
And why does that important?
00:10:13.120 --> 00:10:16.639
It's because if people are listening, then it's working.
00:10:16.720 --> 00:10:18.080
And what is the working?
00:10:18.320 --> 00:10:20.720
What I'm doing here, why am I here?
00:10:20.960 --> 00:10:31.679
Is to honor back an awareness, a spiritual awakening, and the growth that's happening on the planet to everybody on the planet.
00:10:32.000 --> 00:10:37.919
And, you know, I've been on a path for a really long time, 1990.
00:10:38.399 --> 00:10:41.440
And well, I remember that day as if it was yesterday.
00:10:41.600 --> 00:10:42.960
I didn't remember the date.
00:10:43.039 --> 00:10:45.440
I found my notes, February 16th.
00:10:45.519 --> 00:11:00.159
That's kind of a day that will last in infamy for me, 1990, February 16th, because that was the first day I sought help, needed therapy, started my emotional growth journey.
00:11:00.320 --> 00:11:02.240
And that's what the We Podcast is.
00:11:02.320 --> 00:11:10.639
The We Podcast is the number one how to grow podcast, emotional growth podcast.
00:11:10.879 --> 00:11:16.799
And as a consequence of emotional growth, there's naturally human transformation, truly.
00:11:16.960 --> 00:11:24.559
And the human transformation is the changing of your life, you're becoming a different you as you emotionally grow.
00:11:24.799 --> 00:11:32.799
And I talk about it all the time where the generation of change, and there's always so many new people that that join on a weekly basis.
00:11:32.879 --> 00:11:37.200
I always want to kind of recap a little bit about Joe.
00:11:37.360 --> 00:11:48.320
And I always have to start by saying, I am not a therapist, I am not a researcher, I'm not an educator, I'm not a teacher, I'm a guy, just like you.
00:11:48.480 --> 00:11:50.960
I've been an entrepreneur my whole life.
00:11:51.120 --> 00:12:03.279
You know, I basically went to college in the Midwest and I learned two things out of Purdue University, and that was I learned how to play chess, and myself and a boss would probably never get along.
00:12:03.440 --> 00:12:17.440
And that I always say it like that because basically what I'm saying is I was an arrogant, egotistical, massive personality, entrepreneur with my hair on fire and willing to go to any length to make money and build a business.
00:12:17.679 --> 00:12:21.200
That was my personality in my 20s, and I did.
00:12:21.519 --> 00:12:34.320
The challenge with those 20s is that I drank, drugged, marijuana, sexed, worked out, you know, did anything and everything you would do that wasn't healthy.
00:12:34.559 --> 00:12:37.360
It wasn't good, it just wasn't.
00:12:37.600 --> 00:12:42.240
And in those era of time, I didn't know I was doing it to hide wounds and all that.
00:12:42.320 --> 00:12:43.360
I was just a guy.
00:12:43.519 --> 00:12:46.240
I was just out there doing my stuff.
00:12:46.480 --> 00:13:04.240
Well, as the path continued and different awakenings happened, and you know, I came across an experience where a guy made mention of people telling him to stop drinking for 90 days, and I made fun of the people asking him to stop drinking.
00:13:04.399 --> 00:13:11.279
And in the me making fun of a non-drinker, right before my 31st birthday, I heard myself.
00:13:11.440 --> 00:13:14.799
And that's one of my first conscious thoughts that I can remember.
00:13:15.039 --> 00:13:20.320
This is in 1994, it was the conscious thought about drinking.
00:13:20.639 --> 00:13:37.919
And I say that because in therapy and all of that, the years, all those years going forward, you know, you have awakenings, you have awarenesses, but the big epiphanies, like, oh my gosh, I never thought of that ever.
00:13:38.399 --> 00:13:40.080
Drinking was huge.
00:13:40.240 --> 00:13:43.519
It was February 13th, 1994.
00:13:43.759 --> 00:13:46.960
And that's why I've been sober 32 years.
00:13:47.039 --> 00:13:49.759
In other words, I haven't drank or drugged in over 32 years.
00:13:49.840 --> 00:13:52.720
And that's why a lot of times on this podcast, I challenge back.
00:13:52.879 --> 00:13:55.840
I want to be that voice that asks you the question.
00:13:56.000 --> 00:13:58.000
When was the last time you went 30 days?
00:13:58.159 --> 00:14:02.000
When was the last time you went 90 days with no drugs, no alcohol?
00:14:02.399 --> 00:14:02.799
Period.
00:14:02.960 --> 00:14:04.159
When was the last time?
00:14:04.399 --> 00:14:09.600
If no one's ever asked you, if you're listening, now you can say someone's asking you.
00:14:10.960 --> 00:14:16.159
And since I was asked by myself and I did it, I get the challenge back.
00:14:16.240 --> 00:14:18.799
And those are kind of the things I do here.
00:14:19.440 --> 00:14:25.919
My whole message is I can I challenge the human norms.
00:14:26.080 --> 00:14:26.639
I do.
00:14:26.879 --> 00:14:30.000
I challenge it with religious belief systems all the time.
00:14:30.159 --> 00:14:34.320
I challenge it with the old perspectives of personal growth.
00:14:34.480 --> 00:14:35.759
I challenge it all the time.
00:14:35.919 --> 00:14:38.480
And I'm not here to tell anybody what to do.
00:14:38.639 --> 00:14:40.000
I'm telling you what I do.
00:14:40.159 --> 00:14:44.080
And I have to tell you, the result of what I do, I've got a very cool life.
00:14:44.159 --> 00:14:45.039
I really do.
00:14:45.279 --> 00:14:49.519
And I honor if whatever you're doing is working, please keep doing it.
00:14:49.679 --> 00:14:50.480
Really do.
00:14:50.879 --> 00:14:53.759
And I don't disrespect anybody.
00:14:54.000 --> 00:14:59.360
I can completely disagree with things and love you, anyways.
00:14:59.440 --> 00:15:01.759
And I hope it's the same back.
00:15:01.840 --> 00:15:02.799
I really do.
00:15:03.600 --> 00:15:25.279
So as this podcast continues to grow, and my message, my ultimate message is if I can, you can, and the I can you can message comes from anything from personal and emotional growth to addiction satiation to spiritual growth to challenging the human norms of society.
00:15:25.600 --> 00:15:27.360
And why do I do all of that?
00:15:27.519 --> 00:15:30.399
Because we are truly the generation of change.
00:15:30.799 --> 00:15:42.559
There's never been a generation in this state where we are right now that is going through the human transformation, the waking up process spiritually.
00:15:42.799 --> 00:15:47.440
Consciousness is changing on a daily basis at a rate that it's never done before.
00:15:47.679 --> 00:15:53.279
I always give the example of 200 years ago owning a human was perfectly fine.
00:15:53.519 --> 00:16:06.320
A couple, two or three episodes, I gave an example of a man, a writer around the turn of the century, 1900s, who used his wife for as a prostitute to make money, right in the middle of a little German community.
00:16:06.480 --> 00:16:08.399
No one did or said anything.
00:16:08.639 --> 00:16:15.039
And that was a that was an episode where I talked about how was a pedophile created.
00:16:15.279 --> 00:16:21.840
Well, the little boy of the dad, a six-year-old, seven-year-old, 10-year-old, whatever, was always curious.
00:16:22.080 --> 00:16:30.000
And numerous times he would walk in, mom doing things to men that a little boy should never have to see.
00:16:30.240 --> 00:16:39.679
And I make that, I make those comments because the era of time, the consciousness of the era was just so closed down.
00:16:39.919 --> 00:16:46.639
Fast forward to the 60s and 70s, where most of us on this podcast were raised, some of us 50s.
00:16:47.120 --> 00:17:01.919
The whole idea of emotionally supporting somebody, empowering somebody, personal growth, honoring your feeling, letting you feel and safe, all of that, it didn't exist in the consciousness when we were kids.
00:17:02.399 --> 00:17:05.200
So today it does.
00:17:05.759 --> 00:17:12.720
So we, the people on a podcast like this, we are the ones changing, growing, shifting.
00:17:12.960 --> 00:17:15.920
We're the ones waking up more and more.
00:17:16.079 --> 00:17:19.279
The feminine side of humanity is waking up.
00:17:19.440 --> 00:17:20.079
It is.
00:17:20.400 --> 00:17:24.160
And I could give you hundreds and hundreds of examples, but I don't have to.
00:17:24.400 --> 00:17:25.920
You're on this podcast.
00:17:26.079 --> 00:17:34.000
And if you weren't, if you weren't spiritually waking up, if you weren't emotionally seeking a different type of growth, you wouldn't be here.
00:17:34.240 --> 00:17:38.559
You certainly wouldn't listen to some of my episodes that are close to two hours long.
00:17:38.720 --> 00:17:40.960
You'd click it off in the first seconds.
00:17:41.200 --> 00:17:42.559
Well, but you don't.
00:17:42.720 --> 00:17:44.319
And what does that tell me?
00:17:44.480 --> 00:17:47.440
And it tells me it's happening around the globe.
00:17:47.680 --> 00:17:50.559
It tells me that we are all spiritual warriors.
00:17:50.799 --> 00:17:56.400
The higher power in me, the divinity in me who does these podcasts, who speaks through the mic.
00:17:56.559 --> 00:18:00.000
It's not the man, it's the divinity through the man.
00:18:00.240 --> 00:18:08.160
Yes, I have to click the button as the human, but it's my divinity speaking, and it's your divinity listening.
00:18:08.319 --> 00:18:10.960
And that's why the we is a we.
00:18:11.519 --> 00:18:17.920
And that's why the we podcast is literally growing at rates that Apple Podcast hasn't seen.
00:18:18.079 --> 00:18:18.720
Truly.
00:18:18.960 --> 00:18:22.480
We're getting ready to launch a campaign, Man in the microphone.
00:18:22.799 --> 00:18:23.440
Why?
00:18:23.759 --> 00:18:27.920
Because what we're doing here together is very unusual.
00:18:28.000 --> 00:18:31.839
And I'm honored to be the voice, but I'm not the reason it's growing.
00:18:31.920 --> 00:18:33.839
All of you are the reason it's growing.
00:18:34.000 --> 00:18:41.359
And I am thrilled to know, because people keep coming back, that whatever I'm saying is helping.
00:18:41.920 --> 00:18:53.440
You know, back to my original story for the new people, I went through a seven-year period of time after having memories of being, you know, pretty severely abused as a kid by a couple of teenage boys.
00:18:53.599 --> 00:18:57.759
I went through a seven-year period of just absolute darkness.
00:18:58.079 --> 00:19:03.440
And darkness meaning no money, minimal support.
00:19:04.160 --> 00:19:07.599
I was just committed to heal.
00:19:07.759 --> 00:19:09.279
And it took me seven years.
00:19:09.519 --> 00:19:14.000
Now, the length of time was all based on the era of time, too.
00:19:14.079 --> 00:19:20.960
We're talking the 90s pre-internet, pre-cell phone, pre-texting, pre-scrolling, pre-talking, pre-everything.
00:19:21.119 --> 00:19:28.000
I lived in a warehouse where at certain points in time, at night, there wouldn't be anybody within three miles of me.
00:19:28.160 --> 00:19:29.599
That was just my path.
00:19:29.759 --> 00:19:40.480
But now, fast forward all these years later, why do I have such a passion for creating an emotional growth, an emotional healing, a support mechanism like this?
00:19:40.799 --> 00:19:49.440
Because if I can help one person in their darkest times, if my voice can keep you company, because now we have technology.
00:19:49.680 --> 00:19:52.720
I didn't have technology back then, but now we do.
00:19:52.960 --> 00:20:01.119
So if my voice can keep you company during your dark times, then my seven years is worth it to me.
00:20:01.279 --> 00:20:03.200
If I can just help one person.
00:20:03.359 --> 00:20:06.960
And I always say the one person because you know who you are.
00:20:07.119 --> 00:20:08.559
You're listening now.
00:20:08.880 --> 00:20:13.279
I tell, I make the comment over and over what I'm doing with the Wii podcast.
00:20:13.359 --> 00:20:17.359
This is our 54th episode, but we've got 53 episodes.
00:20:17.519 --> 00:20:18.960
It's like a library.
00:20:19.200 --> 00:20:25.359
If you go through and you know, wherever you feel like you are, if you feel like you're scared, listen to number 40.
00:20:25.519 --> 00:20:30.000
If you feel like your world's overwhelmed, listen to X, you know, number 43.
00:20:30.319 --> 00:20:36.799
One of my most challenging ones was an episode that says I can't let go.
00:20:37.200 --> 00:20:43.599
And that was a story about uh a month ago when I had to put my dog Zeus to sleep.
00:20:43.839 --> 00:20:46.400
It's very emotional for me, very hard.
00:20:46.559 --> 00:20:53.119
And I'm gonna talk about that particular experience, but I'm just so grateful you're here.
00:20:53.279 --> 00:20:54.000
I really am.
00:20:54.160 --> 00:21:16.480
And I have to tell you, it was September the 20th, 2022, was the first time I came across somebody else that I could literally feel they were spiritually connected to their heart in such a way to where their communion allowed me to expand to kind of equal where they were a little bit.
00:21:16.559 --> 00:21:18.480
And I'd never had that before.
00:21:18.720 --> 00:21:32.960
Well, now, fast forward four years, this podcast and my role in it and sharing the way I'm sharing, it tells me, it shows me that the world is waking up, that I'm not the only one.
00:21:33.279 --> 00:21:40.559
And for years and years and years, I always always knew I wasn't, but there was no literal actual evidence that I wasn't.
00:21:40.799 --> 00:21:43.440
Well, now there is, and it's because of all you.
00:21:43.680 --> 00:21:44.480
So thank you.
00:21:44.640 --> 00:21:45.920
Thank you for being here.
00:21:46.079 --> 00:21:47.839
Thank you for being my friends.
00:21:48.000 --> 00:21:49.680
I look forward, you know.
00:21:49.839 --> 00:21:55.200
I'm gonna be talking about the doubts and the fears and the shifting and the growing and everything.
00:21:55.279 --> 00:21:57.119
I'm going through it now, literally.
00:21:57.279 --> 00:21:59.440
I can't really say fears.
00:22:00.240 --> 00:22:08.079
That really isn't fair to say that I have many fears, but I certainly have doubts sometimes because I don't know what I'm doing here.
00:22:08.240 --> 00:22:09.119
I don't.
00:22:09.440 --> 00:22:13.440
Miss Wendy said push play and talk.
00:22:13.680 --> 00:22:14.960
And that's what I've been doing.
00:22:15.200 --> 00:22:16.799
Push, play, and talk.
00:22:17.119 --> 00:22:21.119
So as that continues, I'm learning as I go.
00:22:21.440 --> 00:22:23.839
So I'm glad you're here.
00:22:24.000 --> 00:22:26.640
I'm glad we're doing this together.
00:22:26.880 --> 00:22:35.119
You know, I like to keep you updated on some things, some of my past episodes, the episode a month ago, you know, it was launched.
00:22:35.279 --> 00:22:40.480
My dog Zeus died on August the 5th.
00:22:40.720 --> 00:22:41.680
It was really hard.
00:22:41.839 --> 00:22:43.359
I mean, I grieved hard.
00:22:43.519 --> 00:22:44.319
I still miss him.
00:22:44.480 --> 00:22:45.440
I mean, I really do.
00:22:45.599 --> 00:22:53.279
It's just bizarre how any of you that have had a pet, you know, they're part of the family, like literally.
00:22:53.519 --> 00:22:56.079
And Zeus was definitely part of the family for me.
00:22:56.240 --> 00:22:57.039
He really was.
00:22:57.200 --> 00:23:00.880
I've been a single dad with two boys, but basically with three boys.
00:23:01.119 --> 00:23:06.079
My oldest son Joseph, my youngest son Ryan, and our dog Zeus, who's with us the whole time.
00:23:06.160 --> 00:23:10.480
We bought Zeus when he was 10 weeks old and you know, 10 pounds.
00:23:10.799 --> 00:23:14.799
Zeus passed away at almost 12 years old and 110 pounds.
00:23:15.119 --> 00:23:24.559
And not that we go through that story, but listen to that story August 11th, is when I did that episode, sharing how I did it.
00:23:24.720 --> 00:23:32.640
And I wanted, I purposely wanted to share with the world in the depths of my grief because I want everybody to know that we are emotional beings.
00:23:33.119 --> 00:23:38.559
The feminine side of us is where our emotions are and our spirituality is.
00:23:38.720 --> 00:23:41.440
That part of us is waking up more and more.
00:23:41.599 --> 00:23:47.119
And this whole big boys don't cry concept, it doesn't work anymore.
00:23:47.279 --> 00:23:48.480
It just doesn't.
00:23:48.799 --> 00:23:57.119
And I'm telling people all the time this whole idea of men taking their rage out on women, that has to stop.
00:23:57.680 --> 00:23:58.559
Give the example.
00:23:58.720 --> 00:24:00.079
How do you make it stop?
00:24:00.319 --> 00:24:02.880
Take 15 minutes once a week.
00:24:03.039 --> 00:24:09.519
Get a plastic bat, get pictures of people you don't like, go to your buddy's house before the football game this weekend.
00:24:09.599 --> 00:24:10.720
Hopefully you did it.
00:24:10.880 --> 00:24:15.119
I wish, you know, I would get some emails as people telling me that they started.
00:24:15.519 --> 00:24:16.079
Why?
00:24:16.319 --> 00:24:18.240
Because you just have to start.
00:24:18.480 --> 00:24:24.559
And as you start, you'll get the anger out, and then you're gonna see there's grief underneath it.
00:24:24.880 --> 00:24:33.839
And that grief is where when we actually understand it's okay to grieve, men and women alike.
00:24:34.000 --> 00:24:37.759
It's okay to be angry, men and women alike.
00:24:38.000 --> 00:24:49.759
It's not okay to take it out on somebody, but it is okay to feel it, to experience it, to get it out in a healthy way, to have this have the safety you need, to have the support you need to get it out.
00:24:50.079 --> 00:24:51.759
And why is it in there?
00:24:52.079 --> 00:24:57.920
Because we grew up in an era of time where we weren't emotionally supported.
00:24:58.079 --> 00:25:00.000
Our parents did not know.
00:25:00.720 --> 00:25:04.160
We are learning how to do that now to ourselves.
00:25:04.400 --> 00:25:16.880
It's called inner child work, dual hand journaling, write questions with your dominant hand, answer with your non-dominant hand, and give a voice to your darkest parts.
00:25:17.119 --> 00:25:18.559
That's how we heal.
00:25:18.720 --> 00:25:22.799
That's the how-to, the healing of the depths of yourself.
00:25:23.119 --> 00:25:31.759
100% of the crazy voices in your head, the source of the voice is in the hurt in your heart, and that's how you get it out.
00:25:32.000 --> 00:25:46.160
Well, I can tell you with Zeus, when Zeus passed, it was a powerful spiritual experience for me because I didn't know how I was going to make the decision.
00:25:46.400 --> 00:25:49.039
I'm the one that had to make the decision.
00:25:49.200 --> 00:25:50.319
I'm the dad.
00:25:50.480 --> 00:25:53.200
And I don't have any personal person in my life.
00:25:53.279 --> 00:25:56.880
I don't have a feminine partner to talk things through with.
00:25:56.960 --> 00:25:58.559
So I had to do it with myself.
00:25:58.720 --> 00:26:01.119
And I kept asking a higher power.
00:26:01.359 --> 00:26:02.720
Dear God, guide me.
00:26:02.880 --> 00:26:04.000
How will I know?
00:26:04.240 --> 00:26:07.920
And in my silence, I heard Zeus will tell you.
00:26:08.400 --> 00:26:10.000
And he did.
00:26:10.400 --> 00:26:17.200
August the 5th, Zeus had a sore on his stomach that eventually reached a place I could not stop the bleeding.
00:26:17.359 --> 00:26:19.839
And that was his day, August the 5th.
00:26:20.079 --> 00:26:22.000
The grief was enormous.
00:26:22.319 --> 00:26:24.559
The pain was off the charts.
00:26:24.799 --> 00:26:26.960
The loss was intense.
00:26:27.599 --> 00:26:32.240
And no remorse, no regret, no fears, no regret.
00:26:32.559 --> 00:26:33.759
Pain, yes.
00:26:34.000 --> 00:26:36.319
And I've missed my friend.
00:26:36.559 --> 00:26:38.000
Zeus was my friend.
00:26:38.319 --> 00:26:39.759
Zeus was always here.
00:26:40.079 --> 00:26:45.039
The other day I woke up and it's like, God, I miss him.
00:26:45.440 --> 00:26:47.119
And it's a month.
00:26:47.920 --> 00:26:50.000
And I just let myself be sad for a while.
00:26:50.079 --> 00:26:50.799
I miss him.
00:26:50.960 --> 00:26:53.279
You know, I miss that big smile of his.
00:26:53.440 --> 00:26:55.759
I miss that, those big innocent eyes of his.
00:26:55.839 --> 00:26:58.559
He was big, 110-pound German shepherd.
00:26:58.880 --> 00:27:02.160
And he was ferocious, but he was innocent.
00:27:02.400 --> 00:27:04.559
His eyes was innocent.
00:27:04.799 --> 00:27:06.160
He was just pure love.
00:27:06.319 --> 00:27:10.079
And when he was ferocious, he was protecting because he was loving.
00:27:10.400 --> 00:27:19.599
And in that experience, I had such a powerful emotional support by the technicians.
00:27:19.759 --> 00:27:37.039
And that's why I believe the most powerful healing community out there are the people in the support roles, in the community roles, you know, the dental hygienists of the world, the people that support the doctors out there.
00:27:37.200 --> 00:27:43.519
There's a loving community of billions of you, that it's your hearts that make a real difference.
00:27:43.680 --> 00:27:51.839
And I will never, when I reached out and said to the lady, can you help me?
00:27:52.400 --> 00:27:53.839
She was so kind.
00:27:54.000 --> 00:27:55.440
I was talking to God.
00:27:55.519 --> 00:27:59.839
And this is the receptionist at the dental or at the veterinary clinic.
00:28:00.000 --> 00:28:08.160
And then when I was done, I took Sears there and I asked, Do I have to stay in the room while you do the procedure?
00:28:08.400 --> 00:28:09.920
And the woman said, No, Mr.
00:28:10.160 --> 00:28:14.319
Mittig, I promise you I will take care of it.
00:28:14.559 --> 00:28:19.279
And I grieved and I walked, and I was really sad.
00:28:19.920 --> 00:28:21.839
I'm sad now thinking about it.
00:28:22.079 --> 00:28:27.119
And then the same day I wake up and just missing my friend Zeus.
00:28:27.200 --> 00:28:29.200
So just a month later and grieving.
00:28:29.279 --> 00:28:32.160
It's okay to grieve, it hurts, but it's okay.
00:28:32.720 --> 00:28:38.160
I get a card with sympathy from the vet saying, Dear Mr.
00:28:38.400 --> 00:28:43.039
Mitigger, Zeus was certainly a gentle giant amongst dogs.
00:28:43.359 --> 00:28:45.599
Take comfort in the memories you shared.
00:28:46.559 --> 00:28:48.400
In sympathy, Dr.
00:28:48.559 --> 00:28:49.200
Reese.
00:28:50.160 --> 00:28:53.359
I mean that's just kind.
00:28:54.240 --> 00:28:55.440
I mean, I can't.
00:28:57.680 --> 00:29:01.920
The simplest acts of kindness is what heals humanity.
00:29:02.400 --> 00:29:10.799
And that's what the Wii Podcast is about on the back side, the human transformation side, the giving back side.
00:29:11.200 --> 00:29:17.599
As we heal on the front side, we have more overflow to give back on the other side.
00:29:17.920 --> 00:29:20.480
That's both sides of the Wii Podcast.
00:29:20.720 --> 00:29:23.759
Emotional growth, human transformation.
00:29:24.000 --> 00:29:28.079
How and why do I have such a passion to heal humanity?
00:29:28.960 --> 00:29:31.680
Because we are the generation of change.
00:29:32.000 --> 00:29:34.400
That's my goal, heal humanity.
00:29:34.559 --> 00:29:35.920
How do I plan to do it?
00:29:36.160 --> 00:29:49.279
I plan to build an audience here with the Wii Podcast with all of your help to be in all 168 countries around the planet, to be on every continent around the planet, and to have 100 million downloads a month.
00:29:49.519 --> 00:30:03.839
Because I believe we have 100 million downloads a month, and I can help 100 million people understand that you can heal your own hurt by giving a voice to your darkest parts through the dual-hand journaling.
00:30:04.079 --> 00:30:18.720
And the I teach people it's okay to feel, it's okay to emote that the emotion that's stuck inside of you, suppressed because you grew up in an unconscious environment, is the source of all the voices in your head.
00:30:19.039 --> 00:30:27.119
You want to have serenity, you want to live peace, you want to live in a place where life is really calm.
00:30:27.680 --> 00:30:30.400
Heal the reason you have the voices in your head.
00:30:30.640 --> 00:30:32.559
It's your voices, you hear it all over.
00:30:32.720 --> 00:30:35.599
It's your voices in your head that cause your torment.
00:30:36.000 --> 00:30:44.480
Well, you can't change the mind of a voice, you can't, because the source of the voice is not in your head, it's in your heart.
00:30:44.720 --> 00:30:46.319
How do we heal your heart?
00:30:46.480 --> 00:30:48.079
Dual-hand journaling.
00:30:49.200 --> 00:30:50.720
And that's how you do it.
00:30:51.039 --> 00:31:06.240
Well, the challenge, what happens then, is as we start healing, and as we have these conscious awakenings, and as we start shifting, and as we start growing, and as we start changing, then our life changes.
00:31:06.559 --> 00:31:09.599
And you know, I've got a keynote that I'm going to be doing.
00:31:09.680 --> 00:31:19.519
It's all part of the man on the microphone, where my story goes from homeless to global podcaster and everything in between.
00:31:19.839 --> 00:31:28.079
Homeless in my world was I lived in an unfinished basement on a two-inch path, a two-inch piece of foam and didn't think anything of it.
00:31:28.240 --> 00:31:30.799
That's my definition of homeless.
00:31:31.119 --> 00:31:38.559
And that's back when I was drinking all the time and drugging, drugging all the time and functioning, but never really making any money.
00:31:38.720 --> 00:31:48.559
Well, the challenge is there's multiple different things that end up happening as a consequence of emotional growth.
00:31:48.880 --> 00:31:56.400
The discovery associated with it, emotional awareness, is when you become aware that you've got a hurt inside.
00:31:56.880 --> 00:32:06.160
Then as you start journaling it and letting that part of you, whatever age that is, as that part gets a voice and you're working with a therapist or however you're working, right?
00:32:06.640 --> 00:32:16.880
Then over time, as you grow, as you emote, as you release, then your external world catches up with the new communion of your internal world.
00:32:17.119 --> 00:32:35.200
If you really understand that your external world is a mirror of your internal world, so if there's something going on in your external world that you don't like or doesn't feel right, or whatever, the source of why it's there is inside.
00:32:35.279 --> 00:32:37.119
It's a reflection inside.
00:32:37.440 --> 00:32:49.599
And the more we go inside to heal and change, and we start realizing that our external behaviors are need to change, that means our world changes.
00:32:49.839 --> 00:33:00.799
Literally, relationships change, work changes, where we live changes, every every it changes, things change, and that's all part of the human transformation, the change part.
00:33:01.359 --> 00:33:03.839
But the question is, how do you do it?
00:33:04.400 --> 00:33:14.000
And understanding first off that when you're being asked to externally change and you feel fear, no, but that's okay.
00:33:14.400 --> 00:33:18.160
Fear is normal, fear is a human experience.
00:33:18.400 --> 00:33:23.759
Now, it's not okay to be paralyzed by your fear.
00:33:24.000 --> 00:33:34.079
And I'm gonna tell you and show you how the techniques to do so that you can be afraid and take action steps, anyways.
00:33:34.240 --> 00:33:40.400
So I'm gonna kind of tell you some of my stories, you know, about myself, give you some updates on some stories.
00:33:40.640 --> 00:33:51.920
You know, a couple two or three months ago, I was supporting a couple out of Connecticut, and the man relapsed, then he was taking his rage out on his partner, and I told her to get safe.
00:33:52.240 --> 00:34:05.200
And then I basically told her we started helping her stay on her couch and grieve and get, you know, see her codependence, her neediness, which was a little girl who needed her.
00:34:05.279 --> 00:34:08.079
She kept acting out on her husband, and she did.
00:34:08.239 --> 00:34:13.039
She grieved, and she's out there, you know, doing really well right now.
00:34:13.199 --> 00:34:20.719
She went through a tremendous amount of pain, but she connected on a deep level with some emotional stuff.
00:34:20.880 --> 00:34:40.880
And on the other side, as that inner emotional her felt better, because your spiritual sense of self, your God sense is on your emotional side of self, the feminine side of self, as her emotional sense of self felt better because I helped her give a voice to that part, she grieved.
00:34:41.119 --> 00:34:46.800
A 16-year-old to begin with, and an eight-year-old later, you know, three or four days each part.
00:34:47.039 --> 00:34:51.360
And now, two or three months later, she's literally a public speaker.
00:34:51.679 --> 00:35:00.480
And she, like she says, I feel more connected to the God to God, she's a Christian, to Jesus and to God, more than I ever have.
00:35:00.639 --> 00:35:02.159
It's like, how is that?
00:35:02.320 --> 00:35:03.119
Can that be?
00:35:03.360 --> 00:35:12.400
And I said to her, I said, honey, your communion inside with a God of your understanding is through the emotional side of yourself.
00:35:12.559 --> 00:35:13.039
Why?
00:35:13.280 --> 00:35:15.280
What's the word that describes God?
00:35:15.440 --> 00:35:16.559
It's called love.
00:35:16.800 --> 00:35:17.679
What's love?
00:35:17.840 --> 00:35:19.280
It's an emotion.
00:35:19.599 --> 00:35:27.440
So if you've got sadness and anger and fear stuffed in, it clamps off the emotion of love.
00:35:27.599 --> 00:35:28.800
It just does.
00:35:29.119 --> 00:35:37.599
Well, her fear was her codependence, her anger was not getting her needs from her partner, her husband in this case.
00:35:37.760 --> 00:35:45.440
Her grief was not getting emotionally supported by her parents 30 years ago.
00:35:45.679 --> 00:35:51.840
Well, she helped that part feel better, and as she did, she's more connected.
00:35:52.159 --> 00:36:00.320
Her husband, because she didn't rescue him out of the depths of his pain, literally felt a bottom.
00:36:00.559 --> 00:36:05.440
He's the man I said, stop praying like a Christian and start praying like a warrior.
00:36:05.599 --> 00:36:07.119
You're in battle here.
00:36:07.760 --> 00:36:10.079
And I call him John, it's not his name.
00:36:10.239 --> 00:36:14.079
John, you got to pray like a warrior because you're gonna need it.
00:36:14.239 --> 00:36:15.840
And sure enough, he did.
00:36:16.239 --> 00:36:18.159
My book, Filling the Void.
00:36:18.639 --> 00:36:20.960
I share all my story in that.
00:36:21.119 --> 00:36:25.119
Visit my website, joemitica.com, filling the void.
00:36:25.199 --> 00:36:26.400
We're creating book clubs.
00:36:26.480 --> 00:36:27.920
You're gonna be able to get the book for free.
00:36:28.079 --> 00:36:31.119
I just found out that we're creating an audio for it.
00:36:31.199 --> 00:36:32.159
That's the delay.
00:36:32.400 --> 00:36:36.000
If you've been visiting my site, joemitiga.com, keep going back.
00:36:36.079 --> 00:36:37.199
Eventually it'll be done.
00:36:37.360 --> 00:36:48.719
We're gonna we're having it an audio book for every language, instantaneously, every language on the planet will be able to hear my book in your own language, which to me is just absolutely freaking awesome.
00:36:49.039 --> 00:36:53.440
And my book tells the depths of my story, the depths of my seven years.
00:36:53.599 --> 00:36:54.880
Well, John made it.
00:36:55.119 --> 00:36:55.760
He did.
00:36:56.079 --> 00:36:58.159
Hard, yes, miserable, yes.
00:36:58.320 --> 00:37:01.119
Did he literally feel like devil devil was him?
00:37:01.360 --> 00:37:01.679
Yes.
00:37:01.920 --> 00:37:03.360
I said, but you know what, John?
00:37:03.440 --> 00:37:05.599
You can use that BS excuse all the time.
00:37:05.679 --> 00:37:07.119
That's not the devil, dude.
00:37:07.280 --> 00:37:08.320
That's you.
00:37:08.960 --> 00:37:14.639
That's your self-hate, that's your self-loathing, that's your self-rage, John.
00:37:14.880 --> 00:37:16.320
It ain't no devil, dude.
00:37:16.400 --> 00:37:17.360
That's you.
00:37:18.159 --> 00:37:21.840
Well, he didn't like that at first, but eventually he got it.
00:37:22.079 --> 00:37:25.840
Got a bunch of anger out, and then went back into the program.
00:37:26.079 --> 00:37:29.199
So that particular group, she's doing great.
00:37:29.360 --> 00:37:30.559
He's back in a program.
00:37:30.639 --> 00:37:33.039
It's working, it's been a couple months.
00:37:33.440 --> 00:37:36.800
And I say that because we're all growing.
00:37:37.039 --> 00:37:38.960
Now I've got other people.
00:37:39.519 --> 00:37:44.960
Same stuff, different day, same drunk, still drinking, still taking his rage out.
00:37:45.119 --> 00:37:50.719
And I'm gonna tell that story about the woman who's walking literally out of codependence in my Thursday episode.
00:37:50.880 --> 00:37:53.920
She's doing just amazing things, truly.
00:37:54.400 --> 00:38:06.400
And for myself, as I started walking out of the seven years, and you know, I was spiritually, I had a burning bush experience.
00:38:06.480 --> 00:38:06.880
I did.
00:38:07.119 --> 00:38:17.760
February the 20th, 1994, raised my hands and said, God, if I'm not supposed to drink and drug, need your help, rush of energy, tear down my left side, compulsion's gone.
00:38:17.920 --> 00:38:18.480
Just was.
00:38:18.719 --> 00:38:22.400
Now, folks, I've been in the program 30 years, around it for 32 years.
00:38:22.480 --> 00:38:24.320
I'd never heard my story before.
00:38:24.559 --> 00:38:29.679
And quite honestly, everybody else got to commiserate on their stories.
00:38:29.840 --> 00:38:33.440
Everybody else got a comfort level because they could hear their own stories somewhere else.
00:38:33.599 --> 00:38:35.440
I never got that benefit from the program.
00:38:35.519 --> 00:38:38.719
I didn't, because mine was different, it was unique.
00:38:39.039 --> 00:38:50.639
And I walk into a program 15 months after being dry, and I start learning that the 12-step program is about becoming closer to God, if you're understanding.
00:38:51.119 --> 00:38:59.360
And what's challenging, and I'm going to start where I started and walk through the different phases of my life.
00:38:59.599 --> 00:39:08.079
And by the time I get to the last phase where I'm at right now of changes, I think I'll cover just about everybody that's on this podcast.
00:39:08.239 --> 00:39:18.239
So I started with minimal money, drinking and drugging every day, completely crazy, and full of rage, emotionally closed down.
00:39:18.320 --> 00:39:19.519
That's where I started.
00:39:19.840 --> 00:39:27.760
Well, as I then walked through in that era of time, I owned a roofing company.
00:39:28.079 --> 00:39:36.320
When I a grandmother died, took me two bottles of Jack Daniels a night sitting in the middle of a 10,000 square foot warehouse to feel anything.
00:39:36.480 --> 00:39:37.760
That's where I started.
00:39:37.920 --> 00:39:38.800
I really did.
00:39:39.840 --> 00:39:46.960
So I was completely, I call myself an F you God guy.
00:39:47.119 --> 00:39:51.440
I wasn't atheist, but I wanted nothing to do with this God thing.
00:39:51.599 --> 00:39:52.159
Nothing.
00:39:52.320 --> 00:39:53.679
That's where I started.
00:39:54.000 --> 00:39:58.400
So anywhere you are in there, that's where I started.
00:39:58.559 --> 00:40:09.679
So what happened was as life continued, and then the compulsions were removed, and I stopped drinking, then talk about lost.
00:40:10.000 --> 00:40:16.480
That was the first time in my life where the old guidance system, why do we have doubt?
00:40:16.639 --> 00:40:18.480
And how do we change?
00:40:18.719 --> 00:40:25.679
What we're really changing is the part of us inside who is guiding us.
00:40:26.239 --> 00:40:28.960
People always think the change is outside.
00:40:29.280 --> 00:40:32.880
No, I'm not saying people don't leave and jobs don't and all that.
00:40:32.960 --> 00:40:43.199
Yes, but the real change, how you're spiritually growing, is as you have an awakening, then you live the new awakening.
00:40:43.360 --> 00:40:45.039
What was my awakening?
00:40:45.280 --> 00:40:46.559
Alcohol removed.
00:40:46.719 --> 00:40:52.960
Well, now I then I had to learn how to live a life alcohol-free and drug-free.
00:40:53.199 --> 00:40:55.599
That was living the awakening.
00:40:55.760 --> 00:40:59.119
The awakening was removing of alcohol.
00:40:59.440 --> 00:41:05.199
The awareness was I had never gone 90 days, I was 14.
00:41:05.440 --> 00:41:07.360
And now I was 31, 15.
00:41:07.440 --> 00:41:08.960
Now I was almost 31.
00:41:09.119 --> 00:41:14.639
So I'm asking you right here, folks, when was the last time you went 30 days without alcohol?
00:41:14.880 --> 00:41:18.000
When was the last time you went 90 days without alcohol?
00:41:18.239 --> 00:41:22.320
Right now it's Saturday, Sunday, Monday, wherever you are on the globe.
00:41:22.800 --> 00:41:23.519
I get it.
00:41:23.679 --> 00:41:24.960
It was football.
00:41:25.280 --> 00:41:26.079
So what?
00:41:26.320 --> 00:41:28.559
When was the last time you went 90 days?
00:41:28.800 --> 00:41:33.280
And if you can't honestly answer that easily, it's time to look at it.
00:41:33.519 --> 00:41:34.480
It's time.
00:41:34.800 --> 00:41:35.440
Why?
00:41:35.679 --> 00:41:39.119
Because you're the generation of change, truly.
00:41:39.360 --> 00:41:42.400
And there's not one benefit alcohol is bringing into your life.
00:41:42.559 --> 00:41:43.039
None.
00:41:43.280 --> 00:41:44.639
It's time to change.
00:41:44.960 --> 00:41:48.079
If you can't, get support.
00:41:49.119 --> 00:41:52.000
Soon, I'm interviewing people right now.
00:41:52.400 --> 00:42:00.960
I'm gonna have a place, an online support for all sorts of emotional challenges and alcohol and all that, that I'll be able to point you to.
00:42:01.199 --> 00:42:04.000
I share about this place called Divorce Post online.
00:42:04.320 --> 00:42:05.519
Don't know these people.
00:42:05.679 --> 00:42:08.239
I keep them affirmed that I'm talking about them.
00:42:08.320 --> 00:42:10.400
I'm not affiliated with them at all.
00:42:10.639 --> 00:42:12.559
But people are growing all the time.
00:42:12.719 --> 00:42:15.360
Relationships are either growing or they're going.
00:42:15.679 --> 00:42:25.760
If I would have had a support like divorce post 10 years ago, 12 years ago, now with my divorce, when my past wife walks in and said, I divorced you and I don't love you anymore.
00:42:26.079 --> 00:42:32.159
The pain of the I don't love you anymore was so piercing that I just left.
00:42:32.559 --> 00:42:34.000
Stuff in my front seat.
00:42:34.159 --> 00:42:35.599
All I wanted was my kids.
00:42:35.760 --> 00:42:37.039
I got what I wanted.
00:42:37.199 --> 00:42:40.159
And if I had had sport, life would have been different.
00:42:40.320 --> 00:42:43.519
That's why I'm passionate about this website, divorce post.
00:42:44.079 --> 00:42:46.960
Well, soon I'm gonna have a couple other websites.
00:42:47.199 --> 00:42:51.039
I consider the We podcast an awareness podcast.
00:42:51.199 --> 00:42:54.239
And I'm gonna have solutions to point you to.
00:42:54.480 --> 00:42:58.639
Not gonna name names yet, but I'm gonna have solutions to point you to.
00:42:59.119 --> 00:43:04.800
And if you haven't gone 90 days in your adult life without drinking, give it a shot.
00:43:04.960 --> 00:43:07.440
If you can't stop, get some help.
00:43:07.599 --> 00:43:07.920
Why?
00:43:08.079 --> 00:43:09.039
Because you're better than that.
00:43:09.199 --> 00:43:11.920
And it's time, you're the generation of change, truly.
00:43:12.159 --> 00:43:17.599
When I did it, then I didn't know about a God and how to be guided.
00:43:17.679 --> 00:43:19.119
It was, I was just lost.
00:43:19.360 --> 00:43:22.480
So what was the internal guidance system then?
00:43:22.719 --> 00:43:29.199
Basically, what I would do is I would say, if in the past I'd turn right, I'd turn left.
00:43:29.440 --> 00:43:34.719
I would just always try to do the different thing, whatever the it was.
00:43:34.880 --> 00:43:38.000
And I was really lost for a really long time.
00:43:38.239 --> 00:43:41.519
Had no support, had no help, all of that.
00:43:42.159 --> 00:43:46.800
So the internal sense of doubt was massive.
00:43:47.039 --> 00:43:49.039
I was afraid every day.
00:43:49.199 --> 00:43:50.239
I didn't know.
00:43:50.400 --> 00:43:52.639
I had no money, blah, blah, blah.
00:43:52.960 --> 00:43:55.760
So you can't even say doubt.
00:43:55.920 --> 00:43:58.800
I was in fear all the time.
00:43:59.119 --> 00:44:17.119
So if you're To this process, and you're giving up a massive thing like alcohol or drugs, or you just you know got out of a relationship, the big life changes, then of course there's going to be doubt, of course, there's going to be fear.
00:44:17.599 --> 00:44:19.679
And how do we move forward with that?
00:44:19.920 --> 00:44:28.800
The very first thing you do, of course, when you're hearing the voices that are causing it to be scary, we have to write those voices down.
00:44:29.039 --> 00:44:31.440
The I can't do it, the I'm lost.
00:44:31.519 --> 00:44:33.840
In my world, it would have been way back when.
00:44:34.000 --> 00:44:35.599
Well, I don't know where to go.
00:44:35.840 --> 00:44:39.760
I used to go to the bar, I want to go shoot pool, I miss my friends.
00:44:39.920 --> 00:44:42.400
I'd write down all of the old voices.
00:44:42.559 --> 00:44:57.199
And as you write down all the old voices, then you start seeing a clarity between the old voices that used to guide you every day, and it'll give space for a new set of voices to guide you into your tomorrow.
00:44:57.360 --> 00:45:04.960
And what you're looking for, what you're wanting to hear, is the new set of voices are going to be more encouraging voices.
00:45:05.119 --> 00:45:11.599
They're going to be more all-inclusive voices, they're going to be more loving voices, they're going to be more natural and caring voices.
00:45:11.920 --> 00:45:25.840
For me, I went from always going to the bars and shooting pool and being around crazy, to my voices guided me to Stone Mountain, guided me to the woods, guided me into nature.
00:45:26.000 --> 00:45:27.840
That's just how I was guided.
00:45:28.000 --> 00:45:32.719
Well, that took me a while to do, but that's the difference.
00:45:33.760 --> 00:45:35.920
Where do we hear those new voices?
00:45:36.159 --> 00:45:37.440
Is in silence.
00:45:39.599 --> 00:45:47.280
If you're new, I'm asking everybody to start the practice of being silent five minutes a day.
00:45:47.519 --> 00:45:49.679
And silence is not meditation.
00:45:49.760 --> 00:45:51.679
We're not trying to calm the voices.
00:45:51.920 --> 00:45:56.960
We're just trying to sit and not have external stimulus.
00:45:57.280 --> 00:46:00.400
I say this whole podcast, if I can, you can.
00:46:00.559 --> 00:46:02.639
That's my overarching message.
00:46:02.960 --> 00:46:09.599
I, about a month plus ago, right before Zeus passed, was guided back into silence, which I've been doing.
00:46:09.920 --> 00:46:12.559
I silence does not mean no motion.
00:46:12.719 --> 00:46:15.280
Silence means no external stimulus.
00:46:15.519 --> 00:46:18.079
So in my silence, I work puzzles.
00:46:18.239 --> 00:46:26.719
I did an 18,000-piece puzzle several years ago as I was grieving my past marriage and all of that.
00:46:26.800 --> 00:46:28.719
I did an 18,000-piece puzzle.
00:46:28.880 --> 00:46:29.920
I always tell the story.
00:46:30.079 --> 00:46:31.199
There's four big bags.
00:46:31.360 --> 00:46:34.559
I didn't know those big bags were each a portion of the puzzle.
00:46:34.719 --> 00:46:38.880
I tear open all four bags, mix them together, and then sort.
00:46:39.039 --> 00:46:41.599
Well, now I've got a 40,000-piece puzzle.
00:46:41.840 --> 00:46:45.360
It's basically 10 4,000-piece puzzles.
00:46:45.519 --> 00:46:49.280
And believe it or not, I'm almost done with the first one.
00:46:49.519 --> 00:46:52.079
Probably got 3,000 pieces done of four.
00:46:52.239 --> 00:46:53.280
And why do I say that?
00:46:53.440 --> 00:46:57.920
Because I say all the time, if I can do five or six hours a day, you can do five or six minutes.
00:46:58.000 --> 00:47:00.719
And why is it important to do the five or six minutes?
00:47:00.960 --> 00:47:11.760
Because the more you get practiced at doing that action step, the how-to, the add to your world, getting in silence, you're going to hear all the crazy big voices.
00:47:12.000 --> 00:47:17.360
If you hear hateful, hurtful, unloving voices, keep a pad of paper next to you and write them down.
00:47:17.599 --> 00:47:28.159
But eventually you're going to hear the quiet voices, the softer voices, the all-inclusive voices, and the quieter voices is the voice of your higher power.
00:47:28.400 --> 00:47:34.719
And that's the voice you want to learn to hear and then learn how to follow.
00:47:34.880 --> 00:47:36.960
Now, could I do any of that in the beginning?
00:47:37.199 --> 00:47:38.480
No, not at all.
00:47:38.719 --> 00:47:40.159
Nada zero.
00:47:40.960 --> 00:47:47.039
As my world continued, then I had the memories, and then because roofing, I was still drinking and drugging.
00:47:47.440 --> 00:47:50.639
And then I went into my seven years.
00:47:50.880 --> 00:47:54.159
And in the seven years, I would cut grass, five bucks an hour.
00:47:54.320 --> 00:47:57.039
I lived on$300 a month.
00:47:57.199 --> 00:48:05.119
And it was in that period of time where two years in, where the book, Your Inner Child Has Rights To, was channeled through me.
00:48:05.199 --> 00:48:12.159
It's now called Filling the Void, A Common Man's Quest to Become One with God, the book that's on my website, joemitica.com.
00:48:12.559 --> 00:48:19.199
That book was a higher power voice, literally channeling, channeled through me.
00:48:19.360 --> 00:48:21.440
Now, did I know that at the time?
00:48:21.760 --> 00:48:22.639
Kind of.
00:48:22.960 --> 00:48:25.280
Did I believe it was really that?
00:48:25.920 --> 00:48:26.719
Kind of.
00:48:26.960 --> 00:48:28.880
But what did I say to myself?
00:48:29.119 --> 00:48:29.920
You're nuts.
00:48:30.079 --> 00:48:31.119
No one will listen to you.
00:48:31.199 --> 00:48:32.159
You're not a God guy.
00:48:32.320 --> 00:48:32.639
Oh, yeah.
00:48:32.719 --> 00:48:35.760
Now you're going to tell people God channeled or God's talking to you.
00:48:35.840 --> 00:48:36.719
All the BS.
00:48:36.880 --> 00:48:39.679
And at that point, I didn't know to write all those voices down.
00:48:39.840 --> 00:48:42.320
But those voices used to traumatize me.
00:48:42.559 --> 00:48:46.400
And 22 months, 106,800 and some odd words.
00:48:46.559 --> 00:48:52.320
I hand wrote it all out on yellow pieces of paper, on legal side pads of paper.
00:48:52.480 --> 00:48:55.039
That's the book, filling the void.
00:48:55.119 --> 00:48:55.679
Go get it.
00:48:55.840 --> 00:48:56.559
It's there.
00:48:56.800 --> 00:49:04.159
Well, eventually, that voice, it didn't really guide me that I knew it was guiding me.
00:49:04.400 --> 00:49:19.599
I didn't know that's what was guiding me, but I just saw myself being guided more to isolation and nature than chaos and crazy.
00:49:20.079 --> 00:49:22.559
A different guidance system, truly.
00:49:22.719 --> 00:49:25.119
So I don't know what your guidance system is.
00:49:25.440 --> 00:49:34.880
I will tell you back in the day, it was uncomfortable for me to say, my name's Joe, and I'm an alcoholic.
00:49:35.440 --> 00:49:36.960
Hi, Joe, how are you?
00:49:37.840 --> 00:49:39.599
I hated that part of the meeting.
00:49:39.920 --> 00:49:42.559
I didn't like calling myself an alcoholic.
00:49:42.639 --> 00:49:43.119
I did it.
00:49:43.679 --> 00:49:44.320
Hard.
00:49:45.039 --> 00:49:49.679
And you know, that's okay.
00:49:50.079 --> 00:49:50.800
Period.
00:49:50.960 --> 00:49:52.000
That is hard.
00:49:52.159 --> 00:49:59.199
And the truth of the matter is, if you're in that place and you're realizing you're having a challenge with alcohol, it's okay.
00:49:59.280 --> 00:50:00.480
You don't have to tell anybody else.
00:50:00.559 --> 00:50:01.840
It's no one's business.
00:50:02.079 --> 00:50:06.559
And if you're feeling shame and guilt and grief around that, that's okay.
00:50:06.800 --> 00:50:08.639
It's all part of the process.
00:50:08.880 --> 00:50:12.079
A lot of people go through the shame and the guilt.
00:50:12.239 --> 00:50:24.320
You know, there's different types of, and I don't know the terms, but I know there's different types of sexually transmitted diseases, you know, whatever they are, that people have.
00:50:24.559 --> 00:50:28.239
And it can be paralyzing because of shame.
00:50:28.400 --> 00:50:32.639
Oh, there's something deeply wrong with me because I have this disease.
00:50:33.199 --> 00:50:37.199
And no, there's nothing wrong with you if that happened.
00:50:37.360 --> 00:50:38.159
Nothing.
00:50:38.559 --> 00:50:48.639
And how we work through it is truly if the shame is paralyzing you, you need to get some help because you need to talk it through.
00:50:48.880 --> 00:50:59.199
I just heard a story of a young woman who was about eight or nine months sober, and she wasn't prepared to be around her friends who are going on a bachelorette party.
00:50:59.440 --> 00:51:01.119
She wasn't prepared.
00:51:01.360 --> 00:51:05.760
She hadn't told anybody that she's an alcoholic and she stopped drinking.
00:51:05.920 --> 00:51:07.440
So she wasn't prepared.
00:51:07.679 --> 00:51:14.079
Well, if I would have talked to her, I would have told her it's no one's business if you're an alcoholic or not.
00:51:14.320 --> 00:51:19.920
But say out loud to somebody ahead of time who can be your advocate.
00:51:20.159 --> 00:51:22.320
I've stopped drinking.
00:51:23.119 --> 00:51:27.360
Please help me stay on my course of not drinking.
00:51:27.599 --> 00:51:29.199
Find an advocate.
00:51:29.440 --> 00:51:38.079
And I can promise you, if your friends are anything like mine, they loved it if Joe wasn't drinking, because that just meant there was more for them.
00:51:38.320 --> 00:51:38.960
Period.
00:51:39.199 --> 00:51:42.239
There's so many voices that say, well, if I don't drink, they won't like me.
00:51:42.400 --> 00:51:43.599
They won't melt me around.
00:51:43.679 --> 00:51:44.320
I can't be fun.
00:51:44.400 --> 00:51:45.199
I won't be fun.
00:51:45.920 --> 00:51:50.159
All of those voices are all first step voices.
00:51:50.480 --> 00:52:02.800
If all of the voices you have, when you're changing an unloving pattern and now having to function out into the life, not living the unloving pattern, listen to the voices.
00:52:03.280 --> 00:52:04.559
Listen to them.
00:52:05.199 --> 00:52:12.480
In my world, I didn't have to go through a lot of that because I just went into isolation and I wasn't missed.
00:52:12.719 --> 00:52:22.239
I'm literally talking to a gentleman who was a pro basketball player, wife, massive career, massive everything.
00:52:22.480 --> 00:52:24.000
Millions of people knew him.
00:52:24.159 --> 00:52:31.280
And I thought about it, you know, I thought my it was hard for me, but basically I just went away and no one missed me.
00:52:31.519 --> 00:52:40.960
I think about how hard that would be for somebody that has a normal life, that has, you know, they go to church every day, a normal functioning life.
00:52:41.119 --> 00:52:42.159
My life wasn't.
00:52:42.320 --> 00:52:50.320
So I have real empathy for people who are, and I'm not even talking the pro-athlete type of this guy is a pro-athlete.
00:52:50.400 --> 00:53:01.280
Now he's been sober 20 years, but for people that are changing a pattern and then having to live out into the world as that changed pattern.
00:53:01.519 --> 00:53:10.719
And all the voices you're going to hear in your head, we have to address the voices before you get back into the old environment.
00:53:11.039 --> 00:53:12.960
First, that's the how-to.
00:53:13.599 --> 00:53:21.039
So let's just say it's drinking and you're getting ready to go to a family gathering where you've drank every year for the past 20 years at Christmas.
00:53:21.199 --> 00:53:23.039
Well, it's September.
00:53:23.679 --> 00:53:28.320
Find somebody in your family and tell them straight up, I've stopped drinking.
00:53:28.400 --> 00:53:31.280
Please help me let everybody know I'm not drinking.
00:53:31.519 --> 00:53:32.800
They don't have to know why.
00:53:32.960 --> 00:53:34.000
They don't have to.
00:53:34.159 --> 00:53:36.559
And then you have to listen to your voices.
00:53:36.800 --> 00:53:39.840
Voices like, well, if I don't drink, I won't be fun.
00:53:40.079 --> 00:53:42.239
If I don't drink, people won't want to be around me.
00:53:42.400 --> 00:53:44.719
If I don't drink, people are going to think I'm selfish.
00:53:44.880 --> 00:53:46.239
If I don't drink, whatever.
00:53:46.400 --> 00:53:47.519
And it can be anything.
00:53:47.599 --> 00:53:48.880
I'm using drinking.
00:53:49.039 --> 00:53:56.239
It could be drugs, it could be working out, it could be a job, it could be whatever the it is that you that's unloving and you're changing.
00:53:56.800 --> 00:54:09.119
We have to heat, we have to listen to the voices that are making stuff up about me, yourself, so that they don't paralyze you when you're in a moment.
00:54:09.199 --> 00:54:20.000
Literally, you do that ahead of time, you'll be much more prepared to live the new you in your current environment.
00:54:20.239 --> 00:54:22.320
Now, for me, I just left.
00:54:22.400 --> 00:54:26.239
And when I came back, I was six or seven years sober.
00:54:26.480 --> 00:54:28.000
So it was very different.
00:54:28.320 --> 00:54:37.679
I know there's a type of there's a type of herpes that you can literally get it if you kiss somebody who has it on their lips.
00:54:37.760 --> 00:54:38.960
I don't know what it's called.
00:54:39.119 --> 00:54:40.639
I was just talking to a woman.
00:54:40.880 --> 00:54:49.519
For six years, she was like paralyzed in her own shame, like she was dirty, like she was ugly, like she was something wrong with her.
00:54:49.679 --> 00:54:51.199
She's afraid to be around anyone.
00:54:51.280 --> 00:54:56.480
She went celebrate for six or seven years because she got herpes by kissing somebody.
00:54:57.679 --> 00:55:00.239
And then she finally worked it through.
00:55:00.480 --> 00:55:03.599
Well, folks, if that's you, get help.
00:55:04.480 --> 00:55:05.519
Talk it through.
00:55:05.760 --> 00:55:09.199
We are only as sick as our secrets.
00:55:09.519 --> 00:55:13.679
And it's the secrets that create the voices.
00:55:14.159 --> 00:55:18.079
And when you tell somebody, they can help you walk through it.
00:55:18.239 --> 00:55:34.000
And you, especially on big things like that, a therapist if needed, a good friend, somebody in a 12-step program, somebody to then support the process of sharing with your world the new you.
00:55:35.039 --> 00:55:37.920
And the new you in the beginning is very, very fragile.
00:55:38.079 --> 00:55:39.280
And you know what?
00:55:39.760 --> 00:55:49.360
If you're new, you might have to call in sick and not go to the Christmas party for the first time in 25 years.
00:55:49.679 --> 00:55:52.480
Because if you're too vulnerable, don't go.
00:55:52.639 --> 00:55:54.239
It's not worth it.
00:55:54.480 --> 00:55:56.000
Go next year.
00:55:57.199 --> 00:56:00.320
And that's all part of the growth.
00:56:00.480 --> 00:56:04.159
There's a tremendous amount of the change.
00:56:04.400 --> 00:56:18.960
When we change from the inside out, when we heal from the inside out, there's a sometimes there's a lot of external change that has to happen because the external world of your old doesn't mirror the internal world of your new.
00:56:19.280 --> 00:56:20.800
Hear what I just said.
00:56:21.440 --> 00:56:42.239
When you're growing inside, when you discover something in you, when you start healing a deeper you, and you come out and you start living the new you, a lot of times there are components of your external world, your old external world that do not mirror your new internal world.
00:56:42.480 --> 00:56:46.400
That's where I say all the time relationships have to grow or they go.
00:56:46.960 --> 00:57:02.960
That's why divorce posts and my my I have such a passion for that particular website, because there are going to be people waking up every day around partnerships, marriages, long-term relationships that just aren't going to work anymore.
00:57:03.119 --> 00:57:08.639
Because your partner, if you're growing and they're not, it's not going to work eventually.
00:57:08.800 --> 00:57:12.400
The unequally yoked will catch up sooner or later.
00:57:12.559 --> 00:57:15.280
Visit divorce post, let them help.
00:57:16.079 --> 00:57:19.199
And it also happens in work.
00:57:20.159 --> 00:57:21.119
Perfect example.
00:57:21.280 --> 00:57:26.239
You're trying to get sober and you're the manager of a bar, you're going to have to quit your job.
00:57:26.400 --> 00:57:26.800
Period.
00:57:26.880 --> 00:57:27.920
Is that going to be easy?
00:57:28.159 --> 00:57:28.480
No.
00:57:28.880 --> 00:57:30.400
Is sobriety worth it?
00:57:30.639 --> 00:57:31.280
Yes.
00:57:31.599 --> 00:57:37.440
If you're challenged with food, you're going to probably have to get out of the food industry.
00:57:37.679 --> 00:57:38.239
Yes.
00:57:38.480 --> 00:57:49.119
If you're in a relationship, if your home life is going crazy because you're never around, you might have to leave that job that takes you traveling all the time.
00:57:49.360 --> 00:57:50.000
Yes.
00:57:50.559 --> 00:57:55.440
And the priorities of your internal world are going to naturally change your external world.
00:57:55.519 --> 00:57:56.880
And it is going to be scary.
00:57:56.960 --> 00:57:58.400
And you are going to feel doubt.
00:57:58.559 --> 00:57:59.119
You are.
00:57:59.360 --> 00:58:04.559
And that's why when you're changing your external world, it's okay to be afraid.
00:58:05.039 --> 00:58:11.360
And write the voices down, the how to get through it anyway.
00:58:11.840 --> 00:58:13.119
Write them down.
00:58:13.679 --> 00:58:20.000
And then figure out whatever the action step is you need to take, even though you're afraid.
00:58:20.960 --> 00:58:25.360
The illusion is I can't take action steps because I'm afraid.
00:58:29.920 --> 00:58:31.280
That's false.
00:58:31.760 --> 00:58:33.199
Your gut knows.
00:58:33.679 --> 00:58:39.519
And as you're growing inside, your external world will naturally change.
00:58:40.239 --> 00:58:44.559
As my world continued, I came back out after my seven years.
00:58:44.880 --> 00:58:49.519
I met a woman, we got married, I started a business, a networking group.
00:58:49.679 --> 00:58:53.599
So now I'm dealing with small business entrepreneurs.
00:58:53.840 --> 00:59:05.119
I went from blue collar 80 hours a week on the roof as a roofer, owned my own company as an entrepreneur, to a lawn care five bucks an hour.
00:59:05.199 --> 00:59:06.880
I was the grant of the grant.
00:59:07.039 --> 00:59:09.679
To now I'm working with small business owners.
00:59:10.000 --> 00:59:11.119
Can you say doubt?
00:59:11.599 --> 00:59:13.199
Can you say I had no esteem?
00:59:13.360 --> 00:59:15.519
I was barely making enough money to live.
00:59:15.679 --> 00:59:21.199
I was terrified all the time because I had to make money because now I have a wife and a baby, my son Joseph.
00:59:21.440 --> 00:59:22.400
And it was scary.
00:59:22.559 --> 00:59:23.599
Of course it was.
00:59:23.840 --> 00:59:25.280
So what did I do?
00:59:25.519 --> 00:59:30.400
You know, I literally back then I started using the cliches of the program.
00:59:30.960 --> 00:59:35.440
First things first, one step at a time, start moving forward.
00:59:35.679 --> 00:59:40.320
It was I was in a Waffle House before my Leeds Club business was starting.
00:59:40.400 --> 00:59:45.039
I'm in a Waffle House and I'm terrified because I couldn't go back.
00:59:45.280 --> 00:59:51.360
If it was just me, I could go back to living in the woods on 40 bucks a month.
00:59:51.599 --> 00:59:53.039
But it wasn't just me anymore.
00:59:53.119 --> 00:59:54.559
I had a wife and a baby.
00:59:54.800 --> 01:00:02.320
It was in that moment in time in that Waffle House where in this deep angst I couldn't breathe.
01:00:02.800 --> 01:00:05.840
For years when I'm in pain, I asked for strength and courage.
01:00:05.920 --> 01:00:11.199
But it was in that moment I realized I can ask God a higher power.
01:00:11.440 --> 01:00:14.880
Back then I called higher my higher power great spirit or spirit.
01:00:15.039 --> 01:00:18.239
I can ask great spirit first for guidance.
01:00:19.039 --> 01:00:26.719
So the how to keep moving forward is you ask for guidance.
01:00:27.440 --> 01:00:34.159
Ask your higher power to guide you, to tell you, to show you, to help you.
01:00:34.480 --> 01:00:35.119
Ask.
01:00:35.519 --> 01:00:39.440
It's as simple as, dear God, guide me.
01:00:39.760 --> 01:00:41.119
And I'm not kidding.
01:00:41.280 --> 01:00:45.199
And then when you're in your silence, listen for the guidance.
01:00:45.440 --> 01:00:47.119
Listen for the answer.
01:00:47.360 --> 01:00:50.960
You're going to hear all the I can't voices.
01:00:51.199 --> 01:00:55.280
The I can't voices need to be written down on a piece of paper.
01:00:55.519 --> 01:00:59.679
The guidance voices also need to be written down on a piece of paper.
01:00:59.920 --> 01:01:05.440
The I can't voices need to be told to somebody so they don't paralyze you.
01:01:05.679 --> 01:01:11.199
When they're out of you and told to somebody else, their power cuts in half.
01:01:11.519 --> 01:01:16.000
Keeping those voices silent in you are your secrets.
01:01:16.159 --> 01:01:18.079
We're only as sick as our secrets.
01:01:19.039 --> 01:01:21.199
We're only as stuck as our secrets.
01:01:21.360 --> 01:01:24.000
The secrets are the glass empty voices.
01:01:24.159 --> 01:01:26.800
Write them down, tell somebody.
01:01:27.119 --> 01:01:33.199
The glass full, all possibility, the maybe voices, the I hopeful voices.
01:01:33.360 --> 01:01:34.320
Maybe we can do it.
01:01:34.480 --> 01:01:35.280
I think we can.
01:01:35.440 --> 01:01:36.639
We should move this direct.
01:01:36.800 --> 01:01:39.599
All of those voices also need to be written down.
01:01:39.920 --> 01:01:44.239
And if you have the conscious capacity to move forward with that on your own, great.
01:01:44.480 --> 01:01:58.480
But there's a whole world of life coaches and coaches out there and mentors out there that will help you support you in the how-to with your new inspirational voices.
01:01:58.639 --> 01:01:59.280
Literally.
01:01:59.440 --> 01:02:03.280
I've had a counselor my whole life, my entire adult life.
01:02:03.599 --> 01:02:11.519
And now for me personally, the entrepreneurial prowess in me, the entrepreneur in me has just always been huge.
01:02:11.679 --> 01:02:15.679
So I never really needed support from the entrepreneurial side.
01:02:15.840 --> 01:02:16.559
I didn't.
01:02:16.719 --> 01:02:19.360
I just would go bulldoze through and make it happen.
01:02:19.440 --> 01:02:21.280
And that's what happened in that business.
01:02:21.599 --> 01:02:24.400
And I came up with that whole Leeds Club thing.
01:02:24.480 --> 01:02:29.840
And then I came up with because I was doing, I was doing the Leeds Club thing.
01:02:29.920 --> 01:02:33.920
And the Leeds Club business was start to start kind of go away a little bit.
01:02:34.079 --> 01:02:36.480
The recession hit of 2008.
01:02:36.960 --> 01:02:39.360
And this is now 2010.
01:02:39.519 --> 01:02:46.239
And that's where with my Leeds Club business, I was doubt because my self-esteem was so low.
01:02:46.320 --> 01:02:50.719
And I'm around these powerful, successful small business owners.
01:02:51.039 --> 01:03:08.719
And when I the story I'm talking about with the Waffle House, it's like that business is slowing down because I had groups of entrepreneurs, but because of the recession and the 2008, 2009, that whole world here in the States, a lot of those small business owners were going away.
01:03:08.800 --> 01:03:09.760
They couldn't make it.
01:03:09.920 --> 01:03:12.320
So my business is getting smaller and smaller.
01:03:12.400 --> 01:03:17.599
And I'm in fear, literal, because I'm being asked to change again.
01:03:17.920 --> 01:03:20.239
My work world is changing.
01:03:20.559 --> 01:03:24.320
And that's where the Waffle House experience comes in.
01:03:24.639 --> 01:03:31.440
And two days later, I ask, right there, I ask two days later, a guy says, You need to start your own business, Joe.
01:03:31.599 --> 01:03:32.480
Jerry Mazone.
01:03:32.800 --> 01:03:34.719
I said, My own business doing what?
01:03:34.880 --> 01:03:37.760
That's where Avion Energy was started, 2010.
01:03:37.920 --> 01:03:40.320
Now Avion Energy is a much bigger business.
01:03:40.480 --> 01:03:42.480
I was dealing with global accounts.
01:03:42.639 --> 01:03:47.519
I was the guy who called billion-dollar organizations to get contracts with them.
01:03:47.599 --> 01:03:49.920
And that's where that whole business started.
01:03:50.239 --> 01:03:59.039
But the transition between small business owner and big business, bigger business, there was a tremendous amount of doubt.
01:03:59.199 --> 01:04:00.719
A tremendous amount of fear.
01:04:00.880 --> 01:04:04.320
A tremendous amount of concern because I didn't know what I was doing.
01:04:04.559 --> 01:04:11.360
And of course, I'm one of these guys that basically says, I'll call until somebody cusses me out and tells me to stop calling.
01:04:11.519 --> 01:04:12.880
Well, no one cussed me out.
01:04:12.960 --> 01:04:14.400
So I figured it out.
01:04:14.559 --> 01:04:15.679
But was there doubt?
01:04:15.840 --> 01:04:16.159
Yes.
01:04:16.400 --> 01:04:17.199
Was there fear?
01:04:17.440 --> 01:04:17.679
Yes.
01:04:17.920 --> 01:04:19.039
Was there concerns?
01:04:19.360 --> 01:04:19.920
Yes.
01:04:20.239 --> 01:04:21.679
All of the above.
01:04:22.079 --> 01:04:24.880
And I kept moving forward, anyways.
01:04:25.199 --> 01:04:35.280
So if you're in the middle of a big change, if you're in the middle of a job change, if you're in the middle of a relationship change, understand there's going to be doubt.
01:04:35.360 --> 01:04:36.639
That's part of human.
01:04:36.719 --> 01:04:43.280
It has nothing to do with your stability or your spirituality or none of that.
01:04:43.440 --> 01:04:45.280
It's called being human.
01:04:45.599 --> 01:04:53.440
And in that process, what eventually happens, sometimes you can charge through because it's familiar.
01:04:53.679 --> 01:05:00.960
Other times you wake up on a Tuesday morning just trying to figure out what's the next best step.
01:05:01.440 --> 01:05:08.960
And as you figure out what the next best step is, that's the moving forward process, literally.
01:05:10.000 --> 01:05:14.880
How we keep ourselves from doubt paralyzing us, write the voices down.
01:05:15.119 --> 01:05:21.039
As you hear the softer voices because you're practicing silence, write those voices down.
01:05:21.199 --> 01:05:30.079
And then collectively we start building whatever those voices are, whatever the inspirations are, and you start moving that forward.
01:05:30.239 --> 01:05:41.760
I have an entire podcast on that, the dream big dreams and move into dreams into imagination, imagination into inspiration, inspiration into creation, creation into manifestation.
01:05:42.000 --> 01:05:49.920
So that whole thing, if it's a big, it's gonna, if it's a big dream, it's gonna take some time.
01:05:50.159 --> 01:05:59.760
If it's looking for a new job and a new industry, you can go through that whole, that whole phrase, that whole phase right there in two days and go look in the newspaper.
01:06:00.320 --> 01:06:01.599
In a different section.
01:06:01.840 --> 01:06:03.440
And are there going to be doubts?
01:06:03.679 --> 01:06:04.320
Yes.
01:06:04.719 --> 01:06:11.679
Supporting somebody right now who was who's been in the sales side of the world forever.
01:06:11.840 --> 01:06:15.280
Well, she went back to school, got a new degree.
01:06:15.519 --> 01:06:20.719
With this new degree, now when she's out there looking for new jobs, she has a new title.
01:06:20.880 --> 01:06:22.880
So she's looking for a new thing.
01:06:23.199 --> 01:06:31.039
As she's in there now looking in a totally different section of the potential jobs, she's scared to death.
01:06:31.199 --> 01:06:32.320
Of course she is.
01:06:32.639 --> 01:06:33.280
Why?
01:06:33.519 --> 01:06:36.480
Because she's looking in an area she's never looked at.
01:06:36.800 --> 01:06:41.360
And the fear doesn't mean she's looking in the wrong place.
01:06:41.519 --> 01:06:44.639
The fear means she's looking in the exact right place.
01:06:45.199 --> 01:06:47.840
It's fear because of unfamiliar.
01:06:48.079 --> 01:06:51.760
Not fear because wrong, fear because it's unfamiliar.
01:06:51.920 --> 01:06:59.280
And that's where you ask for strength and courage to keep moving forward during the unfamiliar.
01:07:00.400 --> 01:07:02.800
Keep moving forward in my world, right?
01:07:03.760 --> 01:07:05.039
September 20th.
01:07:05.119 --> 01:07:08.639
My my business avion is a it's a very successful business.
01:07:08.800 --> 01:07:09.840
I live a good life.
01:07:09.920 --> 01:07:11.920
You know, my boys now are grown.
01:07:12.079 --> 01:07:14.880
I've been a single dad for 10 years, 11 years.
01:07:15.199 --> 01:07:22.000
And so September 20th, 2022, hear the voice.
01:07:22.400 --> 01:07:24.480
Two new books start channeling through me.
01:07:24.559 --> 01:07:33.760
I do a live stream, and a year ago, right now, I start, I get the idea of meet Miss Wendy with the podcast.
01:07:34.079 --> 01:07:39.199
So the We podcast is literally, can you say I have no freaking idea what I'm doing here?
01:07:39.360 --> 01:07:40.639
I'm not kidding.
01:07:40.960 --> 01:07:43.119
So I I've said it numerous times.
01:07:43.280 --> 01:07:45.360
Thank you all for being patient with me.
01:07:45.519 --> 01:07:53.119
If you hear stuff in my background, if you hear the technology not the greatest, if I I get it, you know, I'm learning all this as I go.
01:07:53.199 --> 01:07:59.440
I'm not trying, I'm doing the best I can with it, but I don't have a staff of people helping.
01:07:59.599 --> 01:08:01.199
I don't even know what the next steps are.
01:08:01.360 --> 01:08:03.920
Miss Wendy said to me, You'd be great.
01:08:04.159 --> 01:08:05.280
Great at what?
01:08:05.599 --> 01:08:06.960
At a podcast show.
01:08:07.199 --> 01:08:09.679
Say, Wendy, I don't know anything about doing a podcast.
01:08:09.840 --> 01:08:10.800
She says, that's fine.
01:08:10.880 --> 01:08:14.239
You push play, you talk, push end, I'll do the rest.
01:08:14.320 --> 01:08:16.159
And that's literally how it started.
01:08:16.479 --> 01:08:20.399
Well, you know, we launched November 11th.
01:08:21.039 --> 01:08:26.239
January the 8th, we hit the top 100 charts in society and culture for the very first time.
01:08:26.399 --> 01:08:28.880
Now, fast forward 54 episodes.
01:08:29.039 --> 01:08:30.640
This is the 54th episode.
01:08:30.800 --> 01:08:32.560
We're globally ranked.
01:08:32.800 --> 01:08:35.680
We're on charts across the globe because of all you.
01:08:35.760 --> 01:08:36.800
I share all that, right?
01:08:36.960 --> 01:08:40.000
So you would naturally think, oh, everything's going great, everything's wonderful.
01:08:40.079 --> 01:08:42.880
Every no, no, that's not it.
01:08:43.119 --> 01:08:46.399
I still wake up on a daily basis saying, what the hell am I doing here?
01:08:46.479 --> 01:08:47.039
What's next?
01:08:47.199 --> 01:08:48.079
What am I supposed to do?
01:08:48.159 --> 01:08:50.159
What else is supposed to be going on with my world?
01:08:50.319 --> 01:08:52.720
You know, like what do I do next?
01:08:52.960 --> 01:08:55.199
And literally in my silence, right?
01:08:55.760 --> 01:08:58.000
And I'm guided back into silence.
01:08:58.079 --> 01:09:02.479
And I share this because I equated silence with solitude and I resisted.
01:09:02.800 --> 01:09:05.760
I rarely resist, I did my higher power.
01:09:05.920 --> 01:09:08.399
I've gone through so much over the years.
01:09:08.560 --> 01:09:10.720
I don't really have all the other voices anymore.
01:09:10.880 --> 01:09:11.520
I don't.
01:09:11.760 --> 01:09:18.159
So when I was guided back into silence, you know, my higher power was basically wanting me to take the headphones off.
01:09:18.319 --> 01:09:24.239
And now five or six hours a day, I just most of the time I hear nothing.
01:09:24.399 --> 01:09:25.520
I'm working a puzzle.
01:09:25.600 --> 01:09:26.640
I don't hear anything.
01:09:26.800 --> 01:09:30.079
But literally, this is all brand new for me.
01:09:30.239 --> 01:09:39.439
The whole podcasting world, the whole getting ready to be out on stages, sharing my message to the globe on stages, you know, as a public speaker.
01:09:39.600 --> 01:09:41.199
That's it, that's a passion for me.
01:09:41.359 --> 01:09:43.600
I've got three books already written.
01:09:43.760 --> 01:09:46.000
The first book, Filling the Void.
01:09:46.239 --> 01:09:48.000
Go to joemitica.com.
01:09:48.079 --> 01:09:50.079
Over this next year, there'll be three different books there.
01:09:50.159 --> 01:09:51.600
You'll get them all for free.
01:09:51.920 --> 01:09:56.960
All of this, it might look beautiful and wonderful from the outside.
01:09:57.119 --> 01:09:59.840
Oh gosh, I don't know what the hell I'm doing.
01:10:00.000 --> 01:10:02.720
I don't, but I just keep doing the right next thing.
01:10:02.800 --> 01:10:06.560
I just keep doing the right next step, and it continues to unfold.
01:10:06.800 --> 01:10:16.000
Well, literally, my 54th podcast, and a couple days ago, I start hearing a voice in my head.
01:10:16.239 --> 01:10:21.359
And I kind of hear it, and I don't pay attention to it at all because I don't hear voices often.
01:10:21.600 --> 01:10:23.760
And here's what the voices started saying to me.
01:10:23.920 --> 01:10:28.239
Now you have to understand the We podcast has exploded around the globe.
01:10:28.399 --> 01:10:32.479
We're probably close to a half a million downloads in less than eight or nine months.
01:10:32.720 --> 01:10:35.039
Extraordinary because of all of you.
01:10:35.199 --> 01:10:36.319
We're connecting.
01:10:36.479 --> 01:10:37.520
I say it all the time.
01:10:37.680 --> 01:10:38.640
I'm just a guy.
01:10:38.880 --> 01:10:42.640
If you met me, I'm the guy sitting next to you at church.
01:10:42.800 --> 01:10:43.520
I'm the guy.
01:10:43.680 --> 01:10:47.119
Look across the way at the Kroger, wherever you shop for food.
01:10:47.279 --> 01:10:48.640
I'm that guy.
01:10:48.960 --> 01:10:50.560
Look at a baseball field.
01:10:50.720 --> 01:10:57.439
If you're in the Southeast, you saw me at a baseball field over the past 10 years, because that's where I was.
01:10:57.680 --> 01:11:00.319
Come to Georgia Highlands, where my son plays baseball.
01:11:00.399 --> 01:11:01.039
You'll see me.
01:11:01.199 --> 01:11:02.159
I'm that guy.
01:11:02.239 --> 01:11:02.960
I am nothing.
01:11:03.039 --> 01:11:04.079
I'm that guy.
01:11:04.399 --> 01:11:06.880
Well, but I don't have the voices.
01:11:07.119 --> 01:11:07.520
Why?
01:11:07.760 --> 01:11:10.079
Because I did what I teach here.
01:11:10.319 --> 01:11:14.479
So when I hear voices, I can hear them pretty clearly.
01:11:14.880 --> 01:11:19.680
And literally, I'm hearing voices that are having doubt.
01:11:19.920 --> 01:11:24.640
I'm hearing a doubt voice about the We podcast.
01:11:24.960 --> 01:11:30.880
The voice will say something like, I wonder what if I don't have something to say next week?
01:11:31.359 --> 01:11:32.640
One of the voices.
01:11:33.279 --> 01:11:35.199
What if people stop listening?
01:11:35.439 --> 01:11:36.720
Another voice.
01:11:37.199 --> 01:11:39.520
What if my stuff gets boring to people?
01:11:39.920 --> 01:11:40.800
Another voice.
01:11:41.359 --> 01:11:43.279
What if I don't know what to say?
01:11:43.840 --> 01:11:45.119
Another voice.
01:11:45.760 --> 01:11:47.039
And there were a couple other.
01:11:47.359 --> 01:11:49.520
What if it stops ranking and everybody goes away?
01:11:50.079 --> 01:11:50.720
Voices.
01:11:51.279 --> 01:11:53.119
Well, do I believe the voices?
01:11:53.359 --> 01:11:53.680
No.
01:11:54.000 --> 01:11:55.760
What do you think I did with the voices?
01:11:55.920 --> 01:11:56.880
Oh, that's right.
01:11:57.119 --> 01:11:58.399
I write them down.
01:11:59.039 --> 01:12:02.800
And I just told a million people my voices.
01:12:03.119 --> 01:12:07.520
I literally just did the exercise I tell people to do all the time.
01:12:07.680 --> 01:12:13.760
I wrote the voices down and then tell someone, well, I just told a million people my voices.
01:12:14.000 --> 01:12:25.279
Now, after, luckily in my world, because I'm practiced at it, after I hear a voice saying, Joe, we podcast isn't about you.
01:12:26.479 --> 01:12:30.239
Joe, God has given you something to say for 30 years.
01:12:30.560 --> 01:12:33.439
Joe, it has nothing to, you know, you're the messenger.
01:12:33.520 --> 01:12:35.680
You're not the you're not the source of the message.
01:12:35.920 --> 01:12:39.119
So I have the glass full voices almost immediately.
01:12:39.279 --> 01:12:40.880
I do, literally.
01:12:41.600 --> 01:12:44.560
But I don't dismiss the doubt voices.
01:12:44.720 --> 01:12:45.199
I don't.
01:12:45.359 --> 01:12:46.640
I write them down.
01:12:47.199 --> 01:12:54.079
And if I have an inner wound, like a little kid wound that has to come up, I wait and I listen.
01:12:54.159 --> 01:12:56.560
And I've been having some of that come up lately.
01:12:56.720 --> 01:12:57.279
I have.
01:12:57.439 --> 01:13:00.720
I've been having a what about me voice come up.
01:13:00.880 --> 01:13:02.640
Now you have to understand.
01:13:03.359 --> 01:13:06.720
My oldest is launched, my youngest is doing his thing.
01:13:06.800 --> 01:13:07.840
He's elite.
01:13:08.079 --> 01:13:10.560
My best friend, my dog Zeus, is gone.
01:13:10.720 --> 01:13:14.640
I spend a tremendous amount of time with just myself.
01:13:14.800 --> 01:13:18.479
I haven't had a female partnership in 12 years.
01:13:18.640 --> 01:13:21.520
So every once in a while, I'll have a what about me?
01:13:21.840 --> 01:13:25.279
Like I give to the world every day.
01:13:25.439 --> 01:13:28.079
I give of myself all the time.
01:13:28.880 --> 01:13:34.000
When will there be somebody that chooses to share their overflow with me?
01:13:34.159 --> 01:13:35.520
I have that voice.
01:13:35.680 --> 01:13:38.800
And that pushes a deep neglect button in me.
01:13:39.039 --> 01:13:42.079
That pushes an adult man button in me.
01:13:42.239 --> 01:13:45.039
You know, I might not ever have a female partnership.
01:13:45.199 --> 01:13:46.159
I hope I do sometime.
01:13:46.239 --> 01:13:47.359
It'd be a lot of fun.
01:13:47.520 --> 01:13:51.600
I have a tremendous amount of glory and joy to share with somebody.
01:13:51.760 --> 01:13:52.960
But right now I don't have it.
01:13:53.119 --> 01:13:54.319
I don't have it in my life.
01:13:54.479 --> 01:13:55.279
I don't.
01:13:55.760 --> 01:13:59.840
And sometimes I don't really have a fear of not having a partner.
01:13:59.920 --> 01:14:09.119
I don't have that fear, but sometimes I feel the sadness of not having anybody, not having a person that holds my head.
01:14:09.279 --> 01:14:15.520
I mean, I was really missing my dog Zeus today, the past couple days, and I don't have anybody to share it with.
01:14:15.600 --> 01:14:17.279
I'm sharing it with all of you.
01:14:17.840 --> 01:14:25.600
But it'd be nice someday to, you know, to have a female partner say, Jesus, Joe, I'm sorry, and just give me a hug.
01:14:26.000 --> 01:14:35.760
So I want you to hear, it doesn't matter where your world is, we are emotional beings, and we're going to be going through our emotional stuff.
01:14:36.399 --> 01:14:41.840
You write down your voices, the massive big ones or the quiet small ones.
01:14:42.079 --> 01:14:43.039
You write them down.
01:14:43.119 --> 01:14:44.159
That's the how-to.
01:14:44.720 --> 01:14:46.640
You write the voices down.
01:14:47.279 --> 01:14:51.840
And trust me, if you've never written them down, go on Amazon.
01:14:52.000 --> 01:14:57.119
You can buy a pad of the legal size papers for like 26 bucks.
01:14:57.359 --> 01:14:58.640
Because you're going to need it.
01:14:58.800 --> 01:15:00.159
You got a ton of them.
01:15:00.399 --> 01:15:07.199
If you're stuck on the couch and you can't move, I can promise you there's 500 voices in your head.
01:15:07.600 --> 01:15:20.000
And in two or three different, in two or three different settings, you write them down and tell somebody, you'll be amazed at how free you become of the voices.
01:15:20.159 --> 01:15:25.279
Not the hurt in the belly that's causing the voices, but free from the voices themselves.
01:15:25.520 --> 01:15:29.439
And of course, when you feel that hurt belly, you dual hand journal.
01:15:29.600 --> 01:15:32.800
Write with the right your dominant hand, answer with the non-dominant.
01:15:32.960 --> 01:15:34.560
Emote the feelings.
01:15:34.800 --> 01:15:39.279
Fellas, get that wiffle ball bat, get a bunch of pictures of people you don't like.
01:15:39.439 --> 01:15:40.960
Stick a couple of your wife in there.
01:15:41.039 --> 01:15:42.079
I know she pisses you off.
01:15:42.239 --> 01:15:43.199
Of course she does.
01:15:43.359 --> 01:15:45.840
She's in your world to push your buttons.
01:15:46.159 --> 01:15:46.880
Period.
01:15:47.119 --> 01:15:50.159
She's not in your world to take your rage out on her.
01:15:50.479 --> 01:15:51.600
But it's okay to put her.
01:15:52.880 --> 01:15:53.600
Tell her, Mr.
01:15:53.840 --> 01:15:54.479
Tell her, Mr.
01:15:54.560 --> 01:15:57.520
Joe said, I am supposed to put a picture of you in my pile.
01:15:57.600 --> 01:16:04.720
I guarantee you, she'll give you 10 pictures of her to put in the pile if you promise to beat the bat and not take your anger out on her.
01:16:04.880 --> 01:16:07.199
And then, of course, make sure you have your headphones.
01:16:07.520 --> 01:16:10.000
Five minutes of grief a week, fellas.
01:16:10.319 --> 01:16:11.680
Just this past couple days.
01:16:11.760 --> 01:16:13.680
I was sad again, pretty, pretty hard.
01:16:13.920 --> 01:16:19.680
Good hour or two about missing my dog Zeus, missing his innocence, missing his energy.
01:16:19.840 --> 01:16:24.159
I'm not now not only in silence, I'm in stillness because Zeus isn't around.
01:16:24.239 --> 01:16:25.840
And it's a different thing.
01:16:26.159 --> 01:16:29.600
And I do exactly what I tell y'all to do.
01:16:29.760 --> 01:16:31.840
I do the exact same things.
01:16:32.239 --> 01:16:41.279
Through that whole process, coming out the other side, I'm walking in faith every day with the We podcast.
01:16:41.439 --> 01:16:44.000
I do not know where this goes.
01:16:44.159 --> 01:16:52.640
I don't really, I don't have an attachment to where it goes, but every day I wake up and I ask, dear God, guide me.
01:16:53.039 --> 01:16:58.079
Literally, as I was getting ready to do this podcast today, I've got one page.
01:16:58.399 --> 01:17:01.600
I really didn't know exactly what I was going to say.
01:17:01.760 --> 01:17:07.039
I just start talking, and here it is, an hour and 17 minutes later.
01:17:07.359 --> 01:17:09.039
And we're all here together.
01:17:09.199 --> 01:17:10.159
It's working.
01:17:10.319 --> 01:17:18.000
I'm a living example of if you do the things that I share here, you can have a very cool life.
01:17:18.239 --> 01:17:23.840
And whatever your thing is making a difference, Dr.
01:17:24.079 --> 01:17:37.840
Reese made a difference in my life because she sent the sympathy card on the exact day I got it, the exact day I was really missing my friend Zeus.
01:17:38.399 --> 01:17:41.920
She made a difference in my life, and I will never forget that.
01:17:42.079 --> 01:17:45.439
You can make a difference in somebody's life today.
01:17:45.680 --> 01:17:55.920
I shared a story of a couple of weeks ago about how there's this teenage female that her parents are cloaking her behaviors in 12 steps.
01:17:56.079 --> 01:17:57.840
Well, I decided what I can do?
01:17:58.000 --> 01:18:00.720
I can send her a text a couple times a day saying Mr.
01:18:00.800 --> 01:18:01.920
Joe loves you and Mr.
01:18:02.000 --> 01:18:03.039
Joe's really proud of you.
01:18:03.199 --> 01:18:04.239
And you know what?
01:18:04.560 --> 01:18:11.039
After doing it every day for about eight or nine days, I finally got an I love you back.
01:18:11.359 --> 01:18:12.960
For her, what does that mean?
01:18:13.119 --> 01:18:16.000
It means as teenagers opening up a little bit.
01:18:16.319 --> 01:18:18.079
That's all people need, folks.
01:18:18.319 --> 01:18:20.720
Be the giver every once in a while.
01:18:21.039 --> 01:18:24.159
Be the person, be the supporter every once in a while.
01:18:24.319 --> 01:18:27.600
You know somebody that's going through a divorce, be the supporter.
01:18:27.760 --> 01:18:29.359
Send them to divorce post.
01:18:29.680 --> 01:18:33.119
If you're the one going through a divorce, go to divorce post.
01:18:33.359 --> 01:18:34.880
Get your self-help.
01:18:35.119 --> 01:18:39.279
Soon I'm gonna have a place, a couple more places I'll send you there.
01:18:39.600 --> 01:18:42.159
Because together we're healing.
01:18:42.479 --> 01:18:44.880
Together, we're moving forward.
01:18:45.039 --> 01:18:49.359
Together, we're becoming aware that it's okay to be afraid.
01:18:50.000 --> 01:18:52.800
And you can move forward, anyways.
01:18:53.119 --> 01:19:00.399
We ask for support, we ask for guidance, we move forward, and as we continue to move forward, we heal.
01:19:00.800 --> 01:19:03.039
As we heal, we feel better.
01:19:03.279 --> 01:19:05.279
As we feel better, we fill.
01:19:05.520 --> 01:19:08.960
As we give our fullness back to the world, that's called overflow.
01:19:09.119 --> 01:19:16.800
And it's in that unconditional overflow that you heal yourself, and together we heal humanity.
01:19:17.359 --> 01:19:18.880
Folks, thanks for being here.
01:19:19.039 --> 01:19:20.960
I really appreciate your support.
01:19:21.119 --> 01:19:26.239
It's been an amazing journey, and together we are truly making a difference.
01:19:26.479 --> 01:19:28.560
One smile at a time.
01:19:28.720 --> 01:19:33.680

00:00:16.559 --> 00:00:20.239
So here's your host, Joe Mittigan.
00:00:27.600 --> 00:00:30.719
Hello and welcome to We.
00:00:32.719 --> 00:00:37.359
There have been so many times in my life when I've doubted myself.
00:00:37.840 --> 00:00:39.679
Not because I wasn't trying.
00:00:40.240 --> 00:00:42.880
Not because I didn't want my life to get better.
00:00:43.520 --> 00:00:48.880
But because quite honestly, change for me can be really scary.
00:00:49.600 --> 00:00:59.439
And sometimes, just when I think I'm beginning to understand who I am and where my life is going, something changes again.
00:00:59.840 --> 00:01:08.239
A relationship changes, my work changes, my dreams change, the people around me change, the world changes.
00:01:08.480 --> 00:01:12.239
And sometimes I have to change too.
00:01:13.040 --> 00:01:21.280
For most of my life, I thought something was really wrong with me when I felt afraid during those moments.
00:01:22.239 --> 00:01:31.760
I actually thought, you know, maybe if I was just stronger, more confident, or more spiritually connected, I wouldn't doubt myself so much.
00:01:32.560 --> 00:01:36.319
But I'm beginning to understand something very different.
00:01:37.120 --> 00:01:39.280
Maybe, just maybe.
00:01:39.599 --> 00:01:44.319
Self-doubt doesn't always mean I'm going in the wrong direction.
00:01:45.359 --> 00:01:52.959
Sometimes I doubt myself because I'm being asked to become someone I've never been before.
00:01:53.359 --> 00:01:56.400
And quite honestly, that's scary.
00:01:57.120 --> 00:02:02.159
Because the person I used to be knew how to live the life I used to have.
00:02:02.879 --> 00:02:09.280
But that person doesn't always know how to live the life that is unfolding in front of me right now.
00:02:09.840 --> 00:02:14.000
That requires growth, it requires courage.
00:02:14.319 --> 00:02:19.439
And for me, quite honestly, it requires a tremendous amount of faith.
00:02:20.080 --> 00:02:25.599
Today, instead of asking myself, why does my life keep changing?
00:02:25.840 --> 00:02:33.599
I'm learning to ask, who is my higher power guiding me to become through this change?
00:02:34.879 --> 00:02:38.800
The question has begun to change everything for me.
00:02:39.520 --> 00:02:44.719
Because maybe I don't have to know exactly where my life is going.
00:02:45.520 --> 00:02:49.039
Maybe I don't have to have every answer.
00:02:49.599 --> 00:02:55.599
Maybe I don't have to feel completely confident before I take the next step.
00:02:56.400 --> 00:02:58.400
Maybe, just maybe.
00:02:58.560 --> 00:03:02.560
I simply need to have enough faith to keep moving forward.
00:03:03.360 --> 00:03:12.639
Because every time my life has changed, I've eventually discovered something about myself that I couldn't see before.
00:03:13.439 --> 00:03:16.879
I discover strength I didn't know I had.
00:03:17.280 --> 00:03:20.719
I discover courage beneath all my fear.
00:03:21.280 --> 00:03:26.000
I discovered dreams I didn't know I was capable of pursuing.
00:03:26.639 --> 00:03:37.759
And most importantly, I began discovering that an abundant life isn't necessarily a life where nothing changes.
00:03:38.479 --> 00:03:47.199
Maybe an abundant life is a life where I learn to trust myself while everything is changing.
00:03:47.520 --> 00:03:52.800
A life where I stop allowing fear to decide who I can become.
00:03:53.120 --> 00:04:02.159
A life where I trust that my higher power may see possibilities for me that I still can't see for myself.
00:04:02.560 --> 00:04:05.360
Today we're going to talk about self-doubt.
00:04:05.520 --> 00:04:09.360
We're going to talk about why change can feel so frightening.
00:04:09.599 --> 00:04:19.279
And we're going to talk about why becoming someone new can make us question ourselves, even when our lives are actually moving forward.
00:04:19.839 --> 00:04:41.519
We're going to talk about how emotional and spiritual transformation can help us stop being afraid of who we're becoming, begin feeling, believing in ourselves, and trust that there may be an abundant life waiting on the other side of the changes we're so afraid to make.
00:04:42.000 --> 00:04:49.680
Because maybe, just maybe, the question isn't how do I stop my life from changing?
00:04:50.319 --> 00:05:02.959
Maybe the question is, can I trust my higher power, believe in myself, and keep becoming the person I was created to be, even when I'm scared?
00:05:03.199 --> 00:05:06.879
My name is Joe Mittigga, and this is We.
00:05:08.399 --> 00:05:10.160
Welcome to We, everybody.
00:05:10.399 --> 00:05:13.839
It is an amazing night here in Atlanta, Georgia.
00:05:14.079 --> 00:05:16.000
It's kind of an exciting time of year.
00:05:16.319 --> 00:05:17.279
Super hot here.
00:05:17.439 --> 00:05:20.319
I mean, I don't know, 100 degrees or something like that.
00:05:20.560 --> 00:05:22.240
But it's football season.
00:05:22.399 --> 00:05:29.439
And even though I'm not really a big sports fan, my son is, so we connect through sports all the time.
00:05:29.600 --> 00:05:35.600
And you know, today or yesterday, or I think this weekend, it's Labor Day here in the U.S.
00:05:35.920 --> 00:05:39.439
I believe this was the opening weekend for college football.
00:05:39.680 --> 00:05:40.800
So it's kind of fun.
00:05:40.879 --> 00:05:45.920
You know, the whole world of college sports is is exciting.
00:05:46.079 --> 00:05:47.439
And it's new in our world.
00:05:47.519 --> 00:05:53.040
My oldest son, as a lot of you know, if you've been around for a while, is a collegiate athlete.
00:05:53.199 --> 00:05:57.519
He's in his first year playing college baseball, and he's having a great time with it.
00:05:57.680 --> 00:06:00.319
And, you know, life just continues to unfold.
00:06:00.480 --> 00:06:01.360
It really does.
00:06:01.680 --> 00:06:08.639
This is the you know, a perfect topic, this self-doubt thing associated with change.
00:06:08.800 --> 00:06:15.680
And I have to tell you, we're gonna get into dive deep into a lot of my changes over the over the years.
00:06:15.839 --> 00:06:27.439
It's so interesting because everything I'm doing now, this this podcast for sure, is a huge change in my life that literally started about a year ago, right now, about 11 months ago.
00:06:27.519 --> 00:06:38.480
We launched our first episode in November of 2025, but you know, the whole process started while I was watching uh a Wisconsin football game.
00:06:38.639 --> 00:06:47.040
And I'll tell that story here a little bit later, but it's interesting how it's all full circle and you know the doubts still happen, and we're all human.
00:06:47.120 --> 00:06:48.160
And I'm gonna talk about that.
00:06:48.240 --> 00:06:49.680
I'm gonna talk about what do we do.
00:06:49.839 --> 00:07:02.240
I'm gonna talk about how do we address the doubts, the fears, the concerns, and be able to move forward anyways, because the whole I can't move forward isn't true.
00:07:02.800 --> 00:07:11.439
It's created because you don't have the techniques necessary to find the voices, the guidance system that helps you move forward.
00:07:11.680 --> 00:07:19.920
And you know, we live in a world where so many people just say, go get them, tiger, do it anyway, get at get off the couch and go do it.
00:07:20.160 --> 00:07:27.680
Well, they don't help you identify why you're stuck on the couch, and we're gonna talk about that today.
00:07:28.000 --> 00:07:33.279
Because fear and doubt and self-doubt, it's a human experience, folks.
00:07:33.439 --> 00:07:34.399
It just is.
00:07:34.639 --> 00:07:41.920
And I can tell you, depending on where your life is, if you're going through massive changes, there's gonna be a bunch of it.
00:07:42.079 --> 00:07:45.120
If you're in the depths of the dark, there's gonna be a bunch of it.
00:07:45.360 --> 00:07:52.800
If you're in a really challenging, emotional, I can't breathe type of pain, there's going to be a lot of self-doubt.
00:07:52.959 --> 00:07:53.759
There is.
00:07:54.399 --> 00:07:59.600
And I'm gonna give you techniques throughout this episode to keep moving forward, anyways.
00:07:59.759 --> 00:08:11.759
And if you're on the other side of life where everything's great and your world's wonderful, and you've got more money than month, and your partnership actually is working and everything's great, but you know there's something else that needs to happen.
00:08:12.000 --> 00:08:18.800
There's not near the fear, there's not near the the torturous fear, but it can still be scary.
00:08:18.959 --> 00:08:23.439
It can still be anytime we do something new, a lot of times, they're scary, it's scary.
00:08:23.680 --> 00:08:25.199
So we're gonna talk about that today.
00:08:25.360 --> 00:08:32.399
We really are, and I'm gonna I'm gonna bring the human element into fear and just kind of talk you through it.
00:08:32.559 --> 00:08:39.360
Tell you what I did, tell you what some other people have done, and you know, just keep having conversations.
00:08:39.519 --> 00:08:42.000
So I want to welcome everybody from around the world.
00:08:42.240 --> 00:08:46.320
I still am kind of in shock, quite honestly.
00:08:46.559 --> 00:08:51.440
It's kind of an awe to me how the Wii podcast is literally exploding.
00:08:51.600 --> 00:08:54.559
My son, every once in a while, asks me, So, Dad, how's it going?
00:08:54.799 --> 00:08:57.360
I said, Well, bud, you know, it's doing really good.
00:08:57.519 --> 00:09:11.200
And he says, he listens, but he said he can't listen to my voice, so he double times the speed and he kind of listens to it in the background, and he'll ask me questions because you know he hears me on both sides, and it's kind of cool that he's listening.
00:09:11.440 --> 00:09:13.919
It can be a little uncomfortable, obviously.
00:09:14.080 --> 00:09:28.559
You know, I'm here to be as open and as honest and as intimate as I can, and knowing my kids are hearing all my dirty laundry, it's fine, you know, they're old enough, and it's it's a humbling experience, I have to tell you.
00:09:28.720 --> 00:09:43.679
And I want to welcome people around the world: Norway, United Kingdom, Canada, Kenya, Malaysia, Germany, South Korea, to name a few, Australia, New Zealand, Oman, Jamaica.
00:09:43.919 --> 00:09:46.000
I mean, it's just bizarre.
00:09:46.320 --> 00:09:54.240
And it's kind of interesting because as this whole process unfolds, I've never really been able to see my download numbers.
00:09:54.399 --> 00:09:57.600
I don't really know how many people are actually listening.
00:09:57.759 --> 00:10:01.039
I see rate, I see ratings, rankings, right?
00:10:01.279 --> 00:10:11.679
So naturally, if you're in the top global rankings, which the Wii Podcast has been in the top 200 for a couple months, top 100 for the past month, it means a bunch of people are listening.
00:10:11.759 --> 00:10:13.039
And why does that important?
00:10:13.120 --> 00:10:16.639
It's because if people are listening, then it's working.
00:10:16.720 --> 00:10:18.080
And what is the working?
00:10:18.320 --> 00:10:20.720
What I'm doing here, why am I here?
00:10:20.960 --> 00:10:31.679
Is to honor back an awareness, a spiritual awakening, and the growth that's happening on the planet to everybody on the planet.
00:10:32.000 --> 00:10:37.919
And, you know, I've been on a path for a really long time, 1990.
00:10:38.399 --> 00:10:41.440
And well, I remember that day as if it was yesterday.
00:10:41.600 --> 00:10:42.960
I didn't remember the date.
00:10:43.039 --> 00:10:45.440
I found my notes, February 16th.
00:10:45.519 --> 00:11:00.159
That's kind of a day that will last in infamy for me, 1990, February 16th, because that was the first day I sought help, needed therapy, started my emotional growth journey.
00:11:00.320 --> 00:11:02.240
And that's what the We Podcast is.
00:11:02.320 --> 00:11:10.639
The We Podcast is the number one how to grow podcast, emotional growth podcast.
00:11:10.879 --> 00:11:16.799
And as a consequence of emotional growth, there's naturally human transformation, truly.
00:11:16.960 --> 00:11:24.559
And the human transformation is the changing of your life, you're becoming a different you as you emotionally grow.
00:11:24.799 --> 00:11:32.799
And I talk about it all the time where the generation of change, and there's always so many new people that that join on a weekly basis.
00:11:32.879 --> 00:11:37.200
I always want to kind of recap a little bit about Joe.
00:11:37.360 --> 00:11:48.320
And I always have to start by saying, I am not a therapist, I am not a researcher, I'm not an educator, I'm not a teacher, I'm a guy, just like you.
00:11:48.480 --> 00:11:50.960
I've been an entrepreneur my whole life.
00:11:51.120 --> 00:12:03.279
You know, I basically went to college in the Midwest and I learned two things out of Purdue University, and that was I learned how to play chess, and myself and a boss would probably never get along.
00:12:03.440 --> 00:12:17.440
And that I always say it like that because basically what I'm saying is I was an arrogant, egotistical, massive personality, entrepreneur with my hair on fire and willing to go to any length to make money and build a business.
00:12:17.679 --> 00:12:21.200
That was my personality in my 20s, and I did.
00:12:21.519 --> 00:12:34.320
The challenge with those 20s is that I drank, drugged, marijuana, sexed, worked out, you know, did anything and everything you would do that wasn't healthy.
00:12:34.559 --> 00:12:37.360
It wasn't good, it just wasn't.
00:12:37.600 --> 00:12:42.240
And in those era of time, I didn't know I was doing it to hide wounds and all that.
00:12:42.320 --> 00:12:43.360
I was just a guy.
00:12:43.519 --> 00:12:46.240
I was just out there doing my stuff.
00:12:46.480 --> 00:13:04.240
Well, as the path continued and different awakenings happened, and you know, I came across an experience where a guy made mention of people telling him to stop drinking for 90 days, and I made fun of the people asking him to stop drinking.
00:13:04.399 --> 00:13:11.279
And in the me making fun of a non-drinker, right before my 31st birthday, I heard myself.
00:13:11.440 --> 00:13:14.799
And that's one of my first conscious thoughts that I can remember.
00:13:15.039 --> 00:13:20.320
This is in 1994, it was the conscious thought about drinking.
00:13:20.639 --> 00:13:37.919
And I say that because in therapy and all of that, the years, all those years going forward, you know, you have awakenings, you have awarenesses, but the big epiphanies, like, oh my gosh, I never thought of that ever.
00:13:38.399 --> 00:13:40.080
Drinking was huge.
00:13:40.240 --> 00:13:43.519
It was February 13th, 1994.
00:13:43.759 --> 00:13:46.960
And that's why I've been sober 32 years.
00:13:47.039 --> 00:13:49.759
In other words, I haven't drank or drugged in over 32 years.
00:13:49.840 --> 00:13:52.720
And that's why a lot of times on this podcast, I challenge back.
00:13:52.879 --> 00:13:55.840
I want to be that voice that asks you the question.
00:13:56.000 --> 00:13:58.000
When was the last time you went 30 days?
00:13:58.159 --> 00:14:02.000
When was the last time you went 90 days with no drugs, no alcohol?
00:14:02.399 --> 00:14:02.799
Period.
00:14:02.960 --> 00:14:04.159
When was the last time?
00:14:04.399 --> 00:14:09.600
If no one's ever asked you, if you're listening, now you can say someone's asking you.
00:14:10.960 --> 00:14:16.159
And since I was asked by myself and I did it, I get the challenge back.
00:14:16.240 --> 00:14:18.799
And those are kind of the things I do here.
00:14:19.440 --> 00:14:25.919
My whole message is I can I challenge the human norms.
00:14:26.080 --> 00:14:26.639
I do.
00:14:26.879 --> 00:14:30.000
I challenge it with religious belief systems all the time.
00:14:30.159 --> 00:14:34.320
I challenge it with the old perspectives of personal growth.
00:14:34.480 --> 00:14:35.759
I challenge it all the time.
00:14:35.919 --> 00:14:38.480
And I'm not here to tell anybody what to do.
00:14:38.639 --> 00:14:40.000
I'm telling you what I do.
00:14:40.159 --> 00:14:44.080
And I have to tell you, the result of what I do, I've got a very cool life.
00:14:44.159 --> 00:14:45.039
I really do.
00:14:45.279 --> 00:14:49.519
And I honor if whatever you're doing is working, please keep doing it.
00:14:49.679 --> 00:14:50.480
Really do.
00:14:50.879 --> 00:14:53.759
And I don't disrespect anybody.
00:14:54.000 --> 00:14:59.360
I can completely disagree with things and love you, anyways.
00:14:59.440 --> 00:15:01.759
And I hope it's the same back.
00:15:01.840 --> 00:15:02.799
I really do.
00:15:03.600 --> 00:15:25.279
So as this podcast continues to grow, and my message, my ultimate message is if I can, you can, and the I can you can message comes from anything from personal and emotional growth to addiction satiation to spiritual growth to challenging the human norms of society.
00:15:25.600 --> 00:15:27.360
And why do I do all of that?
00:15:27.519 --> 00:15:30.399
Because we are truly the generation of change.
00:15:30.799 --> 00:15:42.559
There's never been a generation in this state where we are right now that is going through the human transformation, the waking up process spiritually.
00:15:42.799 --> 00:15:47.440
Consciousness is changing on a daily basis at a rate that it's never done before.
00:15:47.679 --> 00:15:53.279
I always give the example of 200 years ago owning a human was perfectly fine.
00:15:53.519 --> 00:16:06.320
A couple, two or three episodes, I gave an example of a man, a writer around the turn of the century, 1900s, who used his wife for as a prostitute to make money, right in the middle of a little German community.
00:16:06.480 --> 00:16:08.399
No one did or said anything.
00:16:08.639 --> 00:16:15.039
And that was a that was an episode where I talked about how was a pedophile created.
00:16:15.279 --> 00:16:21.840
Well, the little boy of the dad, a six-year-old, seven-year-old, 10-year-old, whatever, was always curious.
00:16:22.080 --> 00:16:30.000
And numerous times he would walk in, mom doing things to men that a little boy should never have to see.
00:16:30.240 --> 00:16:39.679
And I make that, I make those comments because the era of time, the consciousness of the era was just so closed down.
00:16:39.919 --> 00:16:46.639
Fast forward to the 60s and 70s, where most of us on this podcast were raised, some of us 50s.
00:16:47.120 --> 00:17:01.919
The whole idea of emotionally supporting somebody, empowering somebody, personal growth, honoring your feeling, letting you feel and safe, all of that, it didn't exist in the consciousness when we were kids.
00:17:02.399 --> 00:17:05.200
So today it does.
00:17:05.759 --> 00:17:12.720
So we, the people on a podcast like this, we are the ones changing, growing, shifting.
00:17:12.960 --> 00:17:15.920
We're the ones waking up more and more.
00:17:16.079 --> 00:17:19.279
The feminine side of humanity is waking up.
00:17:19.440 --> 00:17:20.079
It is.
00:17:20.400 --> 00:17:24.160
And I could give you hundreds and hundreds of examples, but I don't have to.
00:17:24.400 --> 00:17:25.920
You're on this podcast.
00:17:26.079 --> 00:17:34.000
And if you weren't, if you weren't spiritually waking up, if you weren't emotionally seeking a different type of growth, you wouldn't be here.
00:17:34.240 --> 00:17:38.559
You certainly wouldn't listen to some of my episodes that are close to two hours long.
00:17:38.720 --> 00:17:40.960
You'd click it off in the first seconds.
00:17:41.200 --> 00:17:42.559
Well, but you don't.
00:17:42.720 --> 00:17:44.319
And what does that tell me?
00:17:44.480 --> 00:17:47.440
And it tells me it's happening around the globe.
00:17:47.680 --> 00:17:50.559
It tells me that we are all spiritual warriors.
00:17:50.799 --> 00:17:56.400
The higher power in me, the divinity in me who does these podcasts, who speaks through the mic.
00:17:56.559 --> 00:18:00.000
It's not the man, it's the divinity through the man.
00:18:00.240 --> 00:18:08.160
Yes, I have to click the button as the human, but it's my divinity speaking, and it's your divinity listening.
00:18:08.319 --> 00:18:10.960
And that's why the we is a we.
00:18:11.519 --> 00:18:17.920
And that's why the we podcast is literally growing at rates that Apple Podcast hasn't seen.
00:18:18.079 --> 00:18:18.720
Truly.
00:18:18.960 --> 00:18:22.480
We're getting ready to launch a campaign, Man in the microphone.
00:18:22.799 --> 00:18:23.440
Why?
00:18:23.759 --> 00:18:27.920
Because what we're doing here together is very unusual.
00:18:28.000 --> 00:18:31.839
And I'm honored to be the voice, but I'm not the reason it's growing.
00:18:31.920 --> 00:18:33.839
All of you are the reason it's growing.
00:18:34.000 --> 00:18:41.359
And I am thrilled to know, because people keep coming back, that whatever I'm saying is helping.
00:18:41.920 --> 00:18:53.440
You know, back to my original story for the new people, I went through a seven-year period of time after having memories of being, you know, pretty severely abused as a kid by a couple of teenage boys.
00:18:53.599 --> 00:18:57.759
I went through a seven-year period of just absolute darkness.
00:18:58.079 --> 00:19:03.440
And darkness meaning no money, minimal support.
00:19:04.160 --> 00:19:07.599
I was just committed to heal.
00:19:07.759 --> 00:19:09.279
And it took me seven years.
00:19:09.519 --> 00:19:14.000
Now, the length of time was all based on the era of time, too.
00:19:14.079 --> 00:19:20.960
We're talking the 90s pre-internet, pre-cell phone, pre-texting, pre-scrolling, pre-talking, pre-everything.
00:19:21.119 --> 00:19:28.000
I lived in a warehouse where at certain points in time, at night, there wouldn't be anybody within three miles of me.
00:19:28.160 --> 00:19:29.599
That was just my path.
00:19:29.759 --> 00:19:40.480
But now, fast forward all these years later, why do I have such a passion for creating an emotional growth, an emotional healing, a support mechanism like this?
00:19:40.799 --> 00:19:49.440
Because if I can help one person in their darkest times, if my voice can keep you company, because now we have technology.
00:19:49.680 --> 00:19:52.720
I didn't have technology back then, but now we do.
00:19:52.960 --> 00:20:01.119
So if my voice can keep you company during your dark times, then my seven years is worth it to me.
00:20:01.279 --> 00:20:03.200
If I can just help one person.
00:20:03.359 --> 00:20:06.960
And I always say the one person because you know who you are.
00:20:07.119 --> 00:20:08.559
You're listening now.
00:20:08.880 --> 00:20:13.279
I tell, I make the comment over and over what I'm doing with the Wii podcast.
00:20:13.359 --> 00:20:17.359
This is our 54th episode, but we've got 53 episodes.
00:20:17.519 --> 00:20:18.960
It's like a library.
00:20:19.200 --> 00:20:25.359
If you go through and you know, wherever you feel like you are, if you feel like you're scared, listen to number 40.
00:20:25.519 --> 00:20:30.000
If you feel like your world's overwhelmed, listen to X, you know, number 43.
00:20:30.319 --> 00:20:36.799
One of my most challenging ones was an episode that says I can't let go.
00:20:37.200 --> 00:20:43.599
And that was a story about uh a month ago when I had to put my dog Zeus to sleep.
00:20:43.839 --> 00:20:46.400
It's very emotional for me, very hard.
00:20:46.559 --> 00:20:53.119
And I'm gonna talk about that particular experience, but I'm just so grateful you're here.
00:20:53.279 --> 00:20:54.000
I really am.
00:20:54.160 --> 00:21:16.480
And I have to tell you, it was September the 20th, 2022, was the first time I came across somebody else that I could literally feel they were spiritually connected to their heart in such a way to where their communion allowed me to expand to kind of equal where they were a little bit.
00:21:16.559 --> 00:21:18.480
And I'd never had that before.
00:21:18.720 --> 00:21:32.960
Well, now, fast forward four years, this podcast and my role in it and sharing the way I'm sharing, it tells me, it shows me that the world is waking up, that I'm not the only one.
00:21:33.279 --> 00:21:40.559
And for years and years and years, I always always knew I wasn't, but there was no literal actual evidence that I wasn't.
00:21:40.799 --> 00:21:43.440
Well, now there is, and it's because of all you.
00:21:43.680 --> 00:21:44.480
So thank you.
00:21:44.640 --> 00:21:45.920
Thank you for being here.
00:21:46.079 --> 00:21:47.839
Thank you for being my friends.
00:21:48.000 --> 00:21:49.680
I look forward, you know.
00:21:49.839 --> 00:21:55.200
I'm gonna be talking about the doubts and the fears and the shifting and the growing and everything.
00:21:55.279 --> 00:21:57.119
I'm going through it now, literally.
00:21:57.279 --> 00:21:59.440
I can't really say fears.
00:22:00.240 --> 00:22:08.079
That really isn't fair to say that I have many fears, but I certainly have doubts sometimes because I don't know what I'm doing here.
00:22:08.240 --> 00:22:09.119
I don't.
00:22:09.440 --> 00:22:13.440
Miss Wendy said push play and talk.
00:22:13.680 --> 00:22:14.960
And that's what I've been doing.
00:22:15.200 --> 00:22:16.799
Push, play, and talk.
00:22:17.119 --> 00:22:21.119
So as that continues, I'm learning as I go.
00:22:21.440 --> 00:22:23.839
So I'm glad you're here.
00:22:24.000 --> 00:22:26.640
I'm glad we're doing this together.
00:22:26.880 --> 00:22:35.119
You know, I like to keep you updated on some things, some of my past episodes, the episode a month ago, you know, it was launched.
00:22:35.279 --> 00:22:40.480
My dog Zeus died on August the 5th.
00:22:40.720 --> 00:22:41.680
It was really hard.
00:22:41.839 --> 00:22:43.359
I mean, I grieved hard.
00:22:43.519 --> 00:22:44.319
I still miss him.
00:22:44.480 --> 00:22:45.440
I mean, I really do.
00:22:45.599 --> 00:22:53.279
It's just bizarre how any of you that have had a pet, you know, they're part of the family, like literally.
00:22:53.519 --> 00:22:56.079
And Zeus was definitely part of the family for me.
00:22:56.240 --> 00:22:57.039
He really was.
00:22:57.200 --> 00:23:00.880
I've been a single dad with two boys, but basically with three boys.
00:23:01.119 --> 00:23:06.079
My oldest son Joseph, my youngest son Ryan, and our dog Zeus, who's with us the whole time.
00:23:06.160 --> 00:23:10.480
We bought Zeus when he was 10 weeks old and you know, 10 pounds.
00:23:10.799 --> 00:23:14.799
Zeus passed away at almost 12 years old and 110 pounds.
00:23:15.119 --> 00:23:24.559
And not that we go through that story, but listen to that story August 11th, is when I did that episode, sharing how I did it.
00:23:24.720 --> 00:23:32.640
And I wanted, I purposely wanted to share with the world in the depths of my grief because I want everybody to know that we are emotional beings.
00:23:33.119 --> 00:23:38.559
The feminine side of us is where our emotions are and our spirituality is.
00:23:38.720 --> 00:23:41.440
That part of us is waking up more and more.
00:23:41.599 --> 00:23:47.119
And this whole big boys don't cry concept, it doesn't work anymore.
00:23:47.279 --> 00:23:48.480
It just doesn't.
00:23:48.799 --> 00:23:57.119
And I'm telling people all the time this whole idea of men taking their rage out on women, that has to stop.
00:23:57.680 --> 00:23:58.559
Give the example.
00:23:58.720 --> 00:24:00.079
How do you make it stop?
00:24:00.319 --> 00:24:02.880
Take 15 minutes once a week.
00:24:03.039 --> 00:24:09.519
Get a plastic bat, get pictures of people you don't like, go to your buddy's house before the football game this weekend.
00:24:09.599 --> 00:24:10.720
Hopefully you did it.
00:24:10.880 --> 00:24:15.119
I wish, you know, I would get some emails as people telling me that they started.
00:24:15.519 --> 00:24:16.079
Why?
00:24:16.319 --> 00:24:18.240
Because you just have to start.
00:24:18.480 --> 00:24:24.559
And as you start, you'll get the anger out, and then you're gonna see there's grief underneath it.
00:24:24.880 --> 00:24:33.839
And that grief is where when we actually understand it's okay to grieve, men and women alike.
00:24:34.000 --> 00:24:37.759
It's okay to be angry, men and women alike.
00:24:38.000 --> 00:24:49.759
It's not okay to take it out on somebody, but it is okay to feel it, to experience it, to get it out in a healthy way, to have this have the safety you need, to have the support you need to get it out.
00:24:50.079 --> 00:24:51.759
And why is it in there?
00:24:52.079 --> 00:24:57.920
Because we grew up in an era of time where we weren't emotionally supported.
00:24:58.079 --> 00:25:00.000
Our parents did not know.
00:25:00.720 --> 00:25:04.160
We are learning how to do that now to ourselves.
00:25:04.400 --> 00:25:16.880
It's called inner child work, dual hand journaling, write questions with your dominant hand, answer with your non-dominant hand, and give a voice to your darkest parts.
00:25:17.119 --> 00:25:18.559
That's how we heal.
00:25:18.720 --> 00:25:22.799
That's the how-to, the healing of the depths of yourself.
00:25:23.119 --> 00:25:31.759
100% of the crazy voices in your head, the source of the voice is in the hurt in your heart, and that's how you get it out.
00:25:32.000 --> 00:25:46.160
Well, I can tell you with Zeus, when Zeus passed, it was a powerful spiritual experience for me because I didn't know how I was going to make the decision.
00:25:46.400 --> 00:25:49.039
I'm the one that had to make the decision.
00:25:49.200 --> 00:25:50.319
I'm the dad.
00:25:50.480 --> 00:25:53.200
And I don't have any personal person in my life.
00:25:53.279 --> 00:25:56.880
I don't have a feminine partner to talk things through with.
00:25:56.960 --> 00:25:58.559
So I had to do it with myself.
00:25:58.720 --> 00:26:01.119
And I kept asking a higher power.
00:26:01.359 --> 00:26:02.720
Dear God, guide me.
00:26:02.880 --> 00:26:04.000
How will I know?
00:26:04.240 --> 00:26:07.920
And in my silence, I heard Zeus will tell you.
00:26:08.400 --> 00:26:10.000
And he did.
00:26:10.400 --> 00:26:17.200
August the 5th, Zeus had a sore on his stomach that eventually reached a place I could not stop the bleeding.
00:26:17.359 --> 00:26:19.839
And that was his day, August the 5th.
00:26:20.079 --> 00:26:22.000
The grief was enormous.
00:26:22.319 --> 00:26:24.559
The pain was off the charts.
00:26:24.799 --> 00:26:26.960
The loss was intense.
00:26:27.599 --> 00:26:32.240
And no remorse, no regret, no fears, no regret.
00:26:32.559 --> 00:26:33.759
Pain, yes.
00:26:34.000 --> 00:26:36.319
And I've missed my friend.
00:26:36.559 --> 00:26:38.000
Zeus was my friend.
00:26:38.319 --> 00:26:39.759
Zeus was always here.
00:26:40.079 --> 00:26:45.039
The other day I woke up and it's like, God, I miss him.
00:26:45.440 --> 00:26:47.119
And it's a month.
00:26:47.920 --> 00:26:50.000
And I just let myself be sad for a while.
00:26:50.079 --> 00:26:50.799
I miss him.
00:26:50.960 --> 00:26:53.279
You know, I miss that big smile of his.
00:26:53.440 --> 00:26:55.759
I miss that, those big innocent eyes of his.
00:26:55.839 --> 00:26:58.559
He was big, 110-pound German shepherd.
00:26:58.880 --> 00:27:02.160
And he was ferocious, but he was innocent.
00:27:02.400 --> 00:27:04.559
His eyes was innocent.
00:27:04.799 --> 00:27:06.160
He was just pure love.
00:27:06.319 --> 00:27:10.079
And when he was ferocious, he was protecting because he was loving.
00:27:10.400 --> 00:27:19.599
And in that experience, I had such a powerful emotional support by the technicians.
00:27:19.759 --> 00:27:37.039
And that's why I believe the most powerful healing community out there are the people in the support roles, in the community roles, you know, the dental hygienists of the world, the people that support the doctors out there.
00:27:37.200 --> 00:27:43.519
There's a loving community of billions of you, that it's your hearts that make a real difference.
00:27:43.680 --> 00:27:51.839
And I will never, when I reached out and said to the lady, can you help me?
00:27:52.400 --> 00:27:53.839
She was so kind.
00:27:54.000 --> 00:27:55.440
I was talking to God.
00:27:55.519 --> 00:27:59.839
And this is the receptionist at the dental or at the veterinary clinic.
00:28:00.000 --> 00:28:08.160
And then when I was done, I took Sears there and I asked, Do I have to stay in the room while you do the procedure?
00:28:08.400 --> 00:28:09.920
And the woman said, No, Mr.
00:28:10.160 --> 00:28:14.319
Mittig, I promise you I will take care of it.
00:28:14.559 --> 00:28:19.279
And I grieved and I walked, and I was really sad.
00:28:19.920 --> 00:28:21.839
I'm sad now thinking about it.
00:28:22.079 --> 00:28:27.119
And then the same day I wake up and just missing my friend Zeus.
00:28:27.200 --> 00:28:29.200
So just a month later and grieving.
00:28:29.279 --> 00:28:32.160
It's okay to grieve, it hurts, but it's okay.
00:28:32.720 --> 00:28:38.160
I get a card with sympathy from the vet saying, Dear Mr.
00:28:38.400 --> 00:28:43.039
Mitigger, Zeus was certainly a gentle giant amongst dogs.
00:28:43.359 --> 00:28:45.599
Take comfort in the memories you shared.
00:28:46.559 --> 00:28:48.400
In sympathy, Dr.
00:28:48.559 --> 00:28:49.200
Reese.
00:28:50.160 --> 00:28:53.359
I mean that's just kind.
00:28:54.240 --> 00:28:55.440
I mean, I can't.
00:28:57.680 --> 00:29:01.920
The simplest acts of kindness is what heals humanity.
00:29:02.400 --> 00:29:10.799
And that's what the Wii Podcast is about on the back side, the human transformation side, the giving back side.
00:29:11.200 --> 00:29:17.599
As we heal on the front side, we have more overflow to give back on the other side.
00:29:17.920 --> 00:29:20.480
That's both sides of the Wii Podcast.
00:29:20.720 --> 00:29:23.759
Emotional growth, human transformation.
00:29:24.000 --> 00:29:28.079
How and why do I have such a passion to heal humanity?
00:29:28.960 --> 00:29:31.680
Because we are the generation of change.
00:29:32.000 --> 00:29:34.400
That's my goal, heal humanity.
00:29:34.559 --> 00:29:35.920
How do I plan to do it?
00:29:36.160 --> 00:29:49.279
I plan to build an audience here with the Wii Podcast with all of your help to be in all 168 countries around the planet, to be on every continent around the planet, and to have 100 million downloads a month.
00:29:49.519 --> 00:30:03.839
Because I believe we have 100 million downloads a month, and I can help 100 million people understand that you can heal your own hurt by giving a voice to your darkest parts through the dual-hand journaling.
00:30:04.079 --> 00:30:18.720
And the I teach people it's okay to feel, it's okay to emote that the emotion that's stuck inside of you, suppressed because you grew up in an unconscious environment, is the source of all the voices in your head.
00:30:19.039 --> 00:30:27.119
You want to have serenity, you want to live peace, you want to live in a place where life is really calm.
00:30:27.680 --> 00:30:30.400
Heal the reason you have the voices in your head.
00:30:30.640 --> 00:30:32.559
It's your voices, you hear it all over.
00:30:32.720 --> 00:30:35.599
It's your voices in your head that cause your torment.
00:30:36.000 --> 00:30:44.480
Well, you can't change the mind of a voice, you can't, because the source of the voice is not in your head, it's in your heart.
00:30:44.720 --> 00:30:46.319
How do we heal your heart?
00:30:46.480 --> 00:30:48.079
Dual-hand journaling.
00:30:49.200 --> 00:30:50.720
And that's how you do it.
00:30:51.039 --> 00:31:06.240
Well, the challenge, what happens then, is as we start healing, and as we have these conscious awakenings, and as we start shifting, and as we start growing, and as we start changing, then our life changes.
00:31:06.559 --> 00:31:09.599
And you know, I've got a keynote that I'm going to be doing.
00:31:09.680 --> 00:31:19.519
It's all part of the man on the microphone, where my story goes from homeless to global podcaster and everything in between.
00:31:19.839 --> 00:31:28.079
Homeless in my world was I lived in an unfinished basement on a two-inch path, a two-inch piece of foam and didn't think anything of it.
00:31:28.240 --> 00:31:30.799
That's my definition of homeless.
00:31:31.119 --> 00:31:38.559
And that's back when I was drinking all the time and drugging, drugging all the time and functioning, but never really making any money.
00:31:38.720 --> 00:31:48.559
Well, the challenge is there's multiple different things that end up happening as a consequence of emotional growth.
00:31:48.880 --> 00:31:56.400
The discovery associated with it, emotional awareness, is when you become aware that you've got a hurt inside.
00:31:56.880 --> 00:32:06.160
Then as you start journaling it and letting that part of you, whatever age that is, as that part gets a voice and you're working with a therapist or however you're working, right?
00:32:06.640 --> 00:32:16.880
Then over time, as you grow, as you emote, as you release, then your external world catches up with the new communion of your internal world.
00:32:17.119 --> 00:32:35.200
If you really understand that your external world is a mirror of your internal world, so if there's something going on in your external world that you don't like or doesn't feel right, or whatever, the source of why it's there is inside.
00:32:35.279 --> 00:32:37.119
It's a reflection inside.
00:32:37.440 --> 00:32:49.599
And the more we go inside to heal and change, and we start realizing that our external behaviors are need to change, that means our world changes.
00:32:49.839 --> 00:33:00.799
Literally, relationships change, work changes, where we live changes, every every it changes, things change, and that's all part of the human transformation, the change part.
00:33:01.359 --> 00:33:03.839
But the question is, how do you do it?
00:33:04.400 --> 00:33:14.000
And understanding first off that when you're being asked to externally change and you feel fear, no, but that's okay.
00:33:14.400 --> 00:33:18.160
Fear is normal, fear is a human experience.
00:33:18.400 --> 00:33:23.759
Now, it's not okay to be paralyzed by your fear.
00:33:24.000 --> 00:33:34.079
And I'm gonna tell you and show you how the techniques to do so that you can be afraid and take action steps, anyways.
00:33:34.240 --> 00:33:40.400
So I'm gonna kind of tell you some of my stories, you know, about myself, give you some updates on some stories.
00:33:40.640 --> 00:33:51.920
You know, a couple two or three months ago, I was supporting a couple out of Connecticut, and the man relapsed, then he was taking his rage out on his partner, and I told her to get safe.
00:33:52.240 --> 00:34:05.200
And then I basically told her we started helping her stay on her couch and grieve and get, you know, see her codependence, her neediness, which was a little girl who needed her.
00:34:05.279 --> 00:34:08.079
She kept acting out on her husband, and she did.
00:34:08.239 --> 00:34:13.039
She grieved, and she's out there, you know, doing really well right now.
00:34:13.199 --> 00:34:20.719
She went through a tremendous amount of pain, but she connected on a deep level with some emotional stuff.
00:34:20.880 --> 00:34:40.880
And on the other side, as that inner emotional her felt better, because your spiritual sense of self, your God sense is on your emotional side of self, the feminine side of self, as her emotional sense of self felt better because I helped her give a voice to that part, she grieved.
00:34:41.119 --> 00:34:46.800
A 16-year-old to begin with, and an eight-year-old later, you know, three or four days each part.
00:34:47.039 --> 00:34:51.360
And now, two or three months later, she's literally a public speaker.
00:34:51.679 --> 00:35:00.480
And she, like she says, I feel more connected to the God to God, she's a Christian, to Jesus and to God, more than I ever have.
00:35:00.639 --> 00:35:02.159
It's like, how is that?
00:35:02.320 --> 00:35:03.119
Can that be?
00:35:03.360 --> 00:35:12.400
And I said to her, I said, honey, your communion inside with a God of your understanding is through the emotional side of yourself.
00:35:12.559 --> 00:35:13.039
Why?
00:35:13.280 --> 00:35:15.280
What's the word that describes God?
00:35:15.440 --> 00:35:16.559
It's called love.
00:35:16.800 --> 00:35:17.679
What's love?
00:35:17.840 --> 00:35:19.280
It's an emotion.
00:35:19.599 --> 00:35:27.440
So if you've got sadness and anger and fear stuffed in, it clamps off the emotion of love.
00:35:27.599 --> 00:35:28.800
It just does.
00:35:29.119 --> 00:35:37.599
Well, her fear was her codependence, her anger was not getting her needs from her partner, her husband in this case.
00:35:37.760 --> 00:35:45.440
Her grief was not getting emotionally supported by her parents 30 years ago.
00:35:45.679 --> 00:35:51.840
Well, she helped that part feel better, and as she did, she's more connected.
00:35:52.159 --> 00:36:00.320
Her husband, because she didn't rescue him out of the depths of his pain, literally felt a bottom.
00:36:00.559 --> 00:36:05.440
He's the man I said, stop praying like a Christian and start praying like a warrior.
00:36:05.599 --> 00:36:07.119
You're in battle here.
00:36:07.760 --> 00:36:10.079
And I call him John, it's not his name.
00:36:10.239 --> 00:36:14.079
John, you got to pray like a warrior because you're gonna need it.
00:36:14.239 --> 00:36:15.840
And sure enough, he did.
00:36:16.239 --> 00:36:18.159
My book, Filling the Void.
00:36:18.639 --> 00:36:20.960
I share all my story in that.
00:36:21.119 --> 00:36:25.119
Visit my website, joemitica.com, filling the void.
00:36:25.199 --> 00:36:26.400
We're creating book clubs.
00:36:26.480 --> 00:36:27.920
You're gonna be able to get the book for free.
00:36:28.079 --> 00:36:31.119
I just found out that we're creating an audio for it.
00:36:31.199 --> 00:36:32.159
That's the delay.
00:36:32.400 --> 00:36:36.000
If you've been visiting my site, joemitiga.com, keep going back.
00:36:36.079 --> 00:36:37.199
Eventually it'll be done.
00:36:37.360 --> 00:36:48.719
We're gonna we're having it an audio book for every language, instantaneously, every language on the planet will be able to hear my book in your own language, which to me is just absolutely freaking awesome.
00:36:49.039 --> 00:36:53.440
And my book tells the depths of my story, the depths of my seven years.
00:36:53.599 --> 00:36:54.880
Well, John made it.
00:36:55.119 --> 00:36:55.760
He did.
00:36:56.079 --> 00:36:58.159
Hard, yes, miserable, yes.
00:36:58.320 --> 00:37:01.119
Did he literally feel like devil devil was him?
00:37:01.360 --> 00:37:01.679
Yes.
00:37:01.920 --> 00:37:03.360
I said, but you know what, John?
00:37:03.440 --> 00:37:05.599
You can use that BS excuse all the time.
00:37:05.679 --> 00:37:07.119
That's not the devil, dude.
00:37:07.280 --> 00:37:08.320
That's you.
00:37:08.960 --> 00:37:14.639
That's your self-hate, that's your self-loathing, that's your self-rage, John.
00:37:14.880 --> 00:37:16.320
It ain't no devil, dude.
00:37:16.400 --> 00:37:17.360
That's you.
00:37:18.159 --> 00:37:21.840
Well, he didn't like that at first, but eventually he got it.
00:37:22.079 --> 00:37:25.840
Got a bunch of anger out, and then went back into the program.
00:37:26.079 --> 00:37:29.199
So that particular group, she's doing great.
00:37:29.360 --> 00:37:30.559
He's back in a program.
00:37:30.639 --> 00:37:33.039
It's working, it's been a couple months.
00:37:33.440 --> 00:37:36.800
And I say that because we're all growing.
00:37:37.039 --> 00:37:38.960
Now I've got other people.
00:37:39.519 --> 00:37:44.960
Same stuff, different day, same drunk, still drinking, still taking his rage out.
00:37:45.119 --> 00:37:50.719
And I'm gonna tell that story about the woman who's walking literally out of codependence in my Thursday episode.
00:37:50.880 --> 00:37:53.920
She's doing just amazing things, truly.
00:37:54.400 --> 00:38:06.400
And for myself, as I started walking out of the seven years, and you know, I was spiritually, I had a burning bush experience.
00:38:06.480 --> 00:38:06.880
I did.
00:38:07.119 --> 00:38:17.760
February the 20th, 1994, raised my hands and said, God, if I'm not supposed to drink and drug, need your help, rush of energy, tear down my left side, compulsion's gone.
00:38:17.920 --> 00:38:18.480
Just was.
00:38:18.719 --> 00:38:22.400
Now, folks, I've been in the program 30 years, around it for 32 years.
00:38:22.480 --> 00:38:24.320
I'd never heard my story before.
00:38:24.559 --> 00:38:29.679
And quite honestly, everybody else got to commiserate on their stories.
00:38:29.840 --> 00:38:33.440
Everybody else got a comfort level because they could hear their own stories somewhere else.
00:38:33.599 --> 00:38:35.440
I never got that benefit from the program.
00:38:35.519 --> 00:38:38.719
I didn't, because mine was different, it was unique.
00:38:39.039 --> 00:38:50.639
And I walk into a program 15 months after being dry, and I start learning that the 12-step program is about becoming closer to God, if you're understanding.
00:38:51.119 --> 00:38:59.360
And what's challenging, and I'm going to start where I started and walk through the different phases of my life.
00:38:59.599 --> 00:39:08.079
And by the time I get to the last phase where I'm at right now of changes, I think I'll cover just about everybody that's on this podcast.
00:39:08.239 --> 00:39:18.239
So I started with minimal money, drinking and drugging every day, completely crazy, and full of rage, emotionally closed down.
00:39:18.320 --> 00:39:19.519
That's where I started.
00:39:19.840 --> 00:39:27.760
Well, as I then walked through in that era of time, I owned a roofing company.
00:39:28.079 --> 00:39:36.320
When I a grandmother died, took me two bottles of Jack Daniels a night sitting in the middle of a 10,000 square foot warehouse to feel anything.
00:39:36.480 --> 00:39:37.760
That's where I started.
00:39:37.920 --> 00:39:38.800
I really did.
00:39:39.840 --> 00:39:46.960
So I was completely, I call myself an F you God guy.
00:39:47.119 --> 00:39:51.440
I wasn't atheist, but I wanted nothing to do with this God thing.
00:39:51.599 --> 00:39:52.159
Nothing.
00:39:52.320 --> 00:39:53.679
That's where I started.
00:39:54.000 --> 00:39:58.400
So anywhere you are in there, that's where I started.
00:39:58.559 --> 00:40:09.679
So what happened was as life continued, and then the compulsions were removed, and I stopped drinking, then talk about lost.
00:40:10.000 --> 00:40:16.480
That was the first time in my life where the old guidance system, why do we have doubt?
00:40:16.639 --> 00:40:18.480
And how do we change?
00:40:18.719 --> 00:40:25.679
What we're really changing is the part of us inside who is guiding us.
00:40:26.239 --> 00:40:28.960
People always think the change is outside.
00:40:29.280 --> 00:40:32.880
No, I'm not saying people don't leave and jobs don't and all that.
00:40:32.960 --> 00:40:43.199
Yes, but the real change, how you're spiritually growing, is as you have an awakening, then you live the new awakening.
00:40:43.360 --> 00:40:45.039
What was my awakening?
00:40:45.280 --> 00:40:46.559
Alcohol removed.
00:40:46.719 --> 00:40:52.960
Well, now I then I had to learn how to live a life alcohol-free and drug-free.
00:40:53.199 --> 00:40:55.599
That was living the awakening.
00:40:55.760 --> 00:40:59.119
The awakening was removing of alcohol.
00:40:59.440 --> 00:41:05.199
The awareness was I had never gone 90 days, I was 14.
00:41:05.440 --> 00:41:07.360
And now I was 31, 15.
00:41:07.440 --> 00:41:08.960
Now I was almost 31.
00:41:09.119 --> 00:41:14.639
So I'm asking you right here, folks, when was the last time you went 30 days without alcohol?
00:41:14.880 --> 00:41:18.000
When was the last time you went 90 days without alcohol?
00:41:18.239 --> 00:41:22.320
Right now it's Saturday, Sunday, Monday, wherever you are on the globe.
00:41:22.800 --> 00:41:23.519
I get it.
00:41:23.679 --> 00:41:24.960
It was football.
00:41:25.280 --> 00:41:26.079
So what?
00:41:26.320 --> 00:41:28.559
When was the last time you went 90 days?
00:41:28.800 --> 00:41:33.280
And if you can't honestly answer that easily, it's time to look at it.
00:41:33.519 --> 00:41:34.480
It's time.
00:41:34.800 --> 00:41:35.440
Why?
00:41:35.679 --> 00:41:39.119
Because you're the generation of change, truly.
00:41:39.360 --> 00:41:42.400
And there's not one benefit alcohol is bringing into your life.
00:41:42.559 --> 00:41:43.039
None.
00:41:43.280 --> 00:41:44.639
It's time to change.
00:41:44.960 --> 00:41:48.079
If you can't, get support.
00:41:49.119 --> 00:41:52.000
Soon, I'm interviewing people right now.
00:41:52.400 --> 00:42:00.960
I'm gonna have a place, an online support for all sorts of emotional challenges and alcohol and all that, that I'll be able to point you to.
00:42:01.199 --> 00:42:04.000
I share about this place called Divorce Post online.
00:42:04.320 --> 00:42:05.519
Don't know these people.
00:42:05.679 --> 00:42:08.239
I keep them affirmed that I'm talking about them.
00:42:08.320 --> 00:42:10.400
I'm not affiliated with them at all.
00:42:10.639 --> 00:42:12.559
But people are growing all the time.
00:42:12.719 --> 00:42:15.360
Relationships are either growing or they're going.
00:42:15.679 --> 00:42:25.760
If I would have had a support like divorce post 10 years ago, 12 years ago, now with my divorce, when my past wife walks in and said, I divorced you and I don't love you anymore.
00:42:26.079 --> 00:42:32.159
The pain of the I don't love you anymore was so piercing that I just left.
00:42:32.559 --> 00:42:34.000
Stuff in my front seat.
00:42:34.159 --> 00:42:35.599
All I wanted was my kids.
00:42:35.760 --> 00:42:37.039
I got what I wanted.
00:42:37.199 --> 00:42:40.159
And if I had had sport, life would have been different.
00:42:40.320 --> 00:42:43.519
That's why I'm passionate about this website, divorce post.
00:42:44.079 --> 00:42:46.960
Well, soon I'm gonna have a couple other websites.
00:42:47.199 --> 00:42:51.039
I consider the We podcast an awareness podcast.
00:42:51.199 --> 00:42:54.239
And I'm gonna have solutions to point you to.
00:42:54.480 --> 00:42:58.639
Not gonna name names yet, but I'm gonna have solutions to point you to.
00:42:59.119 --> 00:43:04.800
And if you haven't gone 90 days in your adult life without drinking, give it a shot.
00:43:04.960 --> 00:43:07.440
If you can't stop, get some help.
00:43:07.599 --> 00:43:07.920
Why?
00:43:08.079 --> 00:43:09.039
Because you're better than that.
00:43:09.199 --> 00:43:11.920
And it's time, you're the generation of change, truly.
00:43:12.159 --> 00:43:17.599
When I did it, then I didn't know about a God and how to be guided.
00:43:17.679 --> 00:43:19.119
It was, I was just lost.
00:43:19.360 --> 00:43:22.480
So what was the internal guidance system then?
00:43:22.719 --> 00:43:29.199
Basically, what I would do is I would say, if in the past I'd turn right, I'd turn left.
00:43:29.440 --> 00:43:34.719
I would just always try to do the different thing, whatever the it was.
00:43:34.880 --> 00:43:38.000
And I was really lost for a really long time.
00:43:38.239 --> 00:43:41.519
Had no support, had no help, all of that.
00:43:42.159 --> 00:43:46.800
So the internal sense of doubt was massive.
00:43:47.039 --> 00:43:49.039
I was afraid every day.
00:43:49.199 --> 00:43:50.239
I didn't know.
00:43:50.400 --> 00:43:52.639
I had no money, blah, blah, blah.
00:43:52.960 --> 00:43:55.760
So you can't even say doubt.
00:43:55.920 --> 00:43:58.800
I was in fear all the time.
00:43:59.119 --> 00:44:17.119
So if you're To this process, and you're giving up a massive thing like alcohol or drugs, or you just you know got out of a relationship, the big life changes, then of course there's going to be doubt, of course, there's going to be fear.
00:44:17.599 --> 00:44:19.679
And how do we move forward with that?
00:44:19.920 --> 00:44:28.800
The very first thing you do, of course, when you're hearing the voices that are causing it to be scary, we have to write those voices down.
00:44:29.039 --> 00:44:31.440
The I can't do it, the I'm lost.
00:44:31.519 --> 00:44:33.840
In my world, it would have been way back when.
00:44:34.000 --> 00:44:35.599
Well, I don't know where to go.
00:44:35.840 --> 00:44:39.760
I used to go to the bar, I want to go shoot pool, I miss my friends.
00:44:39.920 --> 00:44:42.400
I'd write down all of the old voices.
00:44:42.559 --> 00:44:57.199
And as you write down all the old voices, then you start seeing a clarity between the old voices that used to guide you every day, and it'll give space for a new set of voices to guide you into your tomorrow.
00:44:57.360 --> 00:45:04.960
And what you're looking for, what you're wanting to hear, is the new set of voices are going to be more encouraging voices.
00:45:05.119 --> 00:45:11.599
They're going to be more all-inclusive voices, they're going to be more loving voices, they're going to be more natural and caring voices.
00:45:11.920 --> 00:45:25.840
For me, I went from always going to the bars and shooting pool and being around crazy, to my voices guided me to Stone Mountain, guided me to the woods, guided me into nature.
00:45:26.000 --> 00:45:27.840
That's just how I was guided.
00:45:28.000 --> 00:45:32.719
Well, that took me a while to do, but that's the difference.
00:45:33.760 --> 00:45:35.920
Where do we hear those new voices?
00:45:36.159 --> 00:45:37.440
Is in silence.
00:45:39.599 --> 00:45:47.280
If you're new, I'm asking everybody to start the practice of being silent five minutes a day.
00:45:47.519 --> 00:45:49.679
And silence is not meditation.
00:45:49.760 --> 00:45:51.679
We're not trying to calm the voices.
00:45:51.920 --> 00:45:56.960
We're just trying to sit and not have external stimulus.
00:45:57.280 --> 00:46:00.400
I say this whole podcast, if I can, you can.
00:46:00.559 --> 00:46:02.639
That's my overarching message.
00:46:02.960 --> 00:46:09.599
I, about a month plus ago, right before Zeus passed, was guided back into silence, which I've been doing.
00:46:09.920 --> 00:46:12.559
I silence does not mean no motion.
00:46:12.719 --> 00:46:15.280
Silence means no external stimulus.
00:46:15.519 --> 00:46:18.079
So in my silence, I work puzzles.
00:46:18.239 --> 00:46:26.719
I did an 18,000-piece puzzle several years ago as I was grieving my past marriage and all of that.
00:46:26.800 --> 00:46:28.719
I did an 18,000-piece puzzle.
00:46:28.880 --> 00:46:29.920
I always tell the story.
00:46:30.079 --> 00:46:31.199
There's four big bags.
00:46:31.360 --> 00:46:34.559
I didn't know those big bags were each a portion of the puzzle.
00:46:34.719 --> 00:46:38.880
I tear open all four bags, mix them together, and then sort.
00:46:39.039 --> 00:46:41.599
Well, now I've got a 40,000-piece puzzle.
00:46:41.840 --> 00:46:45.360
It's basically 10 4,000-piece puzzles.
00:46:45.519 --> 00:46:49.280
And believe it or not, I'm almost done with the first one.
00:46:49.519 --> 00:46:52.079
Probably got 3,000 pieces done of four.
00:46:52.239 --> 00:46:53.280
And why do I say that?
00:46:53.440 --> 00:46:57.920
Because I say all the time, if I can do five or six hours a day, you can do five or six minutes.
00:46:58.000 --> 00:47:00.719
And why is it important to do the five or six minutes?
00:47:00.960 --> 00:47:11.760
Because the more you get practiced at doing that action step, the how-to, the add to your world, getting in silence, you're going to hear all the crazy big voices.
00:47:12.000 --> 00:47:17.360
If you hear hateful, hurtful, unloving voices, keep a pad of paper next to you and write them down.
00:47:17.599 --> 00:47:28.159
But eventually you're going to hear the quiet voices, the softer voices, the all-inclusive voices, and the quieter voices is the voice of your higher power.
00:47:28.400 --> 00:47:34.719
And that's the voice you want to learn to hear and then learn how to follow.
00:47:34.880 --> 00:47:36.960
Now, could I do any of that in the beginning?
00:47:37.199 --> 00:47:38.480
No, not at all.
00:47:38.719 --> 00:47:40.159
Nada zero.
00:47:40.960 --> 00:47:47.039
As my world continued, then I had the memories, and then because roofing, I was still drinking and drugging.
00:47:47.440 --> 00:47:50.639
And then I went into my seven years.
00:47:50.880 --> 00:47:54.159
And in the seven years, I would cut grass, five bucks an hour.
00:47:54.320 --> 00:47:57.039
I lived on$300 a month.
00:47:57.199 --> 00:48:05.119
And it was in that period of time where two years in, where the book, Your Inner Child Has Rights To, was channeled through me.
00:48:05.199 --> 00:48:12.159
It's now called Filling the Void, A Common Man's Quest to Become One with God, the book that's on my website, joemitica.com.
00:48:12.559 --> 00:48:19.199
That book was a higher power voice, literally channeling, channeled through me.
00:48:19.360 --> 00:48:21.440
Now, did I know that at the time?
00:48:21.760 --> 00:48:22.639
Kind of.
00:48:22.960 --> 00:48:25.280
Did I believe it was really that?
00:48:25.920 --> 00:48:26.719
Kind of.
00:48:26.960 --> 00:48:28.880
But what did I say to myself?
00:48:29.119 --> 00:48:29.920
You're nuts.
00:48:30.079 --> 00:48:31.119
No one will listen to you.
00:48:31.199 --> 00:48:32.159
You're not a God guy.
00:48:32.320 --> 00:48:32.639
Oh, yeah.
00:48:32.719 --> 00:48:35.760
Now you're going to tell people God channeled or God's talking to you.
00:48:35.840 --> 00:48:36.719
All the BS.
00:48:36.880 --> 00:48:39.679
And at that point, I didn't know to write all those voices down.
00:48:39.840 --> 00:48:42.320
But those voices used to traumatize me.
00:48:42.559 --> 00:48:46.400
And 22 months, 106,800 and some odd words.
00:48:46.559 --> 00:48:52.320
I hand wrote it all out on yellow pieces of paper, on legal side pads of paper.
00:48:52.480 --> 00:48:55.039
That's the book, filling the void.
00:48:55.119 --> 00:48:55.679
Go get it.
00:48:55.840 --> 00:48:56.559
It's there.
00:48:56.800 --> 00:49:04.159
Well, eventually, that voice, it didn't really guide me that I knew it was guiding me.
00:49:04.400 --> 00:49:19.599
I didn't know that's what was guiding me, but I just saw myself being guided more to isolation and nature than chaos and crazy.
00:49:20.079 --> 00:49:22.559
A different guidance system, truly.
00:49:22.719 --> 00:49:25.119
So I don't know what your guidance system is.
00:49:25.440 --> 00:49:34.880
I will tell you back in the day, it was uncomfortable for me to say, my name's Joe, and I'm an alcoholic.
00:49:35.440 --> 00:49:36.960
Hi, Joe, how are you?
00:49:37.840 --> 00:49:39.599
I hated that part of the meeting.
00:49:39.920 --> 00:49:42.559
I didn't like calling myself an alcoholic.
00:49:42.639 --> 00:49:43.119
I did it.
00:49:43.679 --> 00:49:44.320
Hard.
00:49:45.039 --> 00:49:49.679
And you know, that's okay.
00:49:50.079 --> 00:49:50.800
Period.
00:49:50.960 --> 00:49:52.000
That is hard.
00:49:52.159 --> 00:49:59.199
And the truth of the matter is, if you're in that place and you're realizing you're having a challenge with alcohol, it's okay.
00:49:59.280 --> 00:50:00.480
You don't have to tell anybody else.
00:50:00.559 --> 00:50:01.840
It's no one's business.
00:50:02.079 --> 00:50:06.559
And if you're feeling shame and guilt and grief around that, that's okay.
00:50:06.800 --> 00:50:08.639
It's all part of the process.
00:50:08.880 --> 00:50:12.079
A lot of people go through the shame and the guilt.
00:50:12.239 --> 00:50:24.320
You know, there's different types of, and I don't know the terms, but I know there's different types of sexually transmitted diseases, you know, whatever they are, that people have.
00:50:24.559 --> 00:50:28.239
And it can be paralyzing because of shame.
00:50:28.400 --> 00:50:32.639
Oh, there's something deeply wrong with me because I have this disease.
00:50:33.199 --> 00:50:37.199
And no, there's nothing wrong with you if that happened.
00:50:37.360 --> 00:50:38.159
Nothing.
00:50:38.559 --> 00:50:48.639
And how we work through it is truly if the shame is paralyzing you, you need to get some help because you need to talk it through.
00:50:48.880 --> 00:50:59.199
I just heard a story of a young woman who was about eight or nine months sober, and she wasn't prepared to be around her friends who are going on a bachelorette party.
00:50:59.440 --> 00:51:01.119
She wasn't prepared.
00:51:01.360 --> 00:51:05.760
She hadn't told anybody that she's an alcoholic and she stopped drinking.
00:51:05.920 --> 00:51:07.440
So she wasn't prepared.
00:51:07.679 --> 00:51:14.079
Well, if I would have talked to her, I would have told her it's no one's business if you're an alcoholic or not.
00:51:14.320 --> 00:51:19.920
But say out loud to somebody ahead of time who can be your advocate.
00:51:20.159 --> 00:51:22.320
I've stopped drinking.
00:51:23.119 --> 00:51:27.360
Please help me stay on my course of not drinking.
00:51:27.599 --> 00:51:29.199
Find an advocate.
00:51:29.440 --> 00:51:38.079
And I can promise you, if your friends are anything like mine, they loved it if Joe wasn't drinking, because that just meant there was more for them.
00:51:38.320 --> 00:51:38.960
Period.
00:51:39.199 --> 00:51:42.239
There's so many voices that say, well, if I don't drink, they won't like me.
00:51:42.400 --> 00:51:43.599
They won't melt me around.
00:51:43.679 --> 00:51:44.320
I can't be fun.
00:51:44.400 --> 00:51:45.199
I won't be fun.
00:51:45.920 --> 00:51:50.159
All of those voices are all first step voices.
00:51:50.480 --> 00:52:02.800
If all of the voices you have, when you're changing an unloving pattern and now having to function out into the life, not living the unloving pattern, listen to the voices.
00:52:03.280 --> 00:52:04.559
Listen to them.
00:52:05.199 --> 00:52:12.480
In my world, I didn't have to go through a lot of that because I just went into isolation and I wasn't missed.
00:52:12.719 --> 00:52:22.239
I'm literally talking to a gentleman who was a pro basketball player, wife, massive career, massive everything.
00:52:22.480 --> 00:52:24.000
Millions of people knew him.
00:52:24.159 --> 00:52:31.280
And I thought about it, you know, I thought my it was hard for me, but basically I just went away and no one missed me.
00:52:31.519 --> 00:52:40.960
I think about how hard that would be for somebody that has a normal life, that has, you know, they go to church every day, a normal functioning life.
00:52:41.119 --> 00:52:42.159
My life wasn't.
00:52:42.320 --> 00:52:50.320
So I have real empathy for people who are, and I'm not even talking the pro-athlete type of this guy is a pro-athlete.
00:52:50.400 --> 00:53:01.280
Now he's been sober 20 years, but for people that are changing a pattern and then having to live out into the world as that changed pattern.
00:53:01.519 --> 00:53:10.719
And all the voices you're going to hear in your head, we have to address the voices before you get back into the old environment.
00:53:11.039 --> 00:53:12.960
First, that's the how-to.
00:53:13.599 --> 00:53:21.039
So let's just say it's drinking and you're getting ready to go to a family gathering where you've drank every year for the past 20 years at Christmas.
00:53:21.199 --> 00:53:23.039
Well, it's September.
00:53:23.679 --> 00:53:28.320
Find somebody in your family and tell them straight up, I've stopped drinking.
00:53:28.400 --> 00:53:31.280
Please help me let everybody know I'm not drinking.
00:53:31.519 --> 00:53:32.800
They don't have to know why.
00:53:32.960 --> 00:53:34.000
They don't have to.
00:53:34.159 --> 00:53:36.559
And then you have to listen to your voices.
00:53:36.800 --> 00:53:39.840
Voices like, well, if I don't drink, I won't be fun.
00:53:40.079 --> 00:53:42.239
If I don't drink, people won't want to be around me.
00:53:42.400 --> 00:53:44.719
If I don't drink, people are going to think I'm selfish.
00:53:44.880 --> 00:53:46.239
If I don't drink, whatever.
00:53:46.400 --> 00:53:47.519
And it can be anything.
00:53:47.599 --> 00:53:48.880
I'm using drinking.
00:53:49.039 --> 00:53:56.239
It could be drugs, it could be working out, it could be a job, it could be whatever the it is that you that's unloving and you're changing.
00:53:56.800 --> 00:54:09.119
We have to heat, we have to listen to the voices that are making stuff up about me, yourself, so that they don't paralyze you when you're in a moment.
00:54:09.199 --> 00:54:20.000
Literally, you do that ahead of time, you'll be much more prepared to live the new you in your current environment.
00:54:20.239 --> 00:54:22.320
Now, for me, I just left.
00:54:22.400 --> 00:54:26.239
And when I came back, I was six or seven years sober.
00:54:26.480 --> 00:54:28.000
So it was very different.
00:54:28.320 --> 00:54:37.679
I know there's a type of there's a type of herpes that you can literally get it if you kiss somebody who has it on their lips.
00:54:37.760 --> 00:54:38.960
I don't know what it's called.
00:54:39.119 --> 00:54:40.639
I was just talking to a woman.
00:54:40.880 --> 00:54:49.519
For six years, she was like paralyzed in her own shame, like she was dirty, like she was ugly, like she was something wrong with her.
00:54:49.679 --> 00:54:51.199
She's afraid to be around anyone.
00:54:51.280 --> 00:54:56.480
She went celebrate for six or seven years because she got herpes by kissing somebody.
00:54:57.679 --> 00:55:00.239
And then she finally worked it through.
00:55:00.480 --> 00:55:03.599
Well, folks, if that's you, get help.
00:55:04.480 --> 00:55:05.519
Talk it through.
00:55:05.760 --> 00:55:09.199
We are only as sick as our secrets.
00:55:09.519 --> 00:55:13.679
And it's the secrets that create the voices.
00:55:14.159 --> 00:55:18.079
And when you tell somebody, they can help you walk through it.
00:55:18.239 --> 00:55:34.000
And you, especially on big things like that, a therapist if needed, a good friend, somebody in a 12-step program, somebody to then support the process of sharing with your world the new you.
00:55:35.039 --> 00:55:37.920
And the new you in the beginning is very, very fragile.
00:55:38.079 --> 00:55:39.280
And you know what?
00:55:39.760 --> 00:55:49.360
If you're new, you might have to call in sick and not go to the Christmas party for the first time in 25 years.
00:55:49.679 --> 00:55:52.480
Because if you're too vulnerable, don't go.
00:55:52.639 --> 00:55:54.239
It's not worth it.
00:55:54.480 --> 00:55:56.000
Go next year.
00:55:57.199 --> 00:56:00.320
And that's all part of the growth.
00:56:00.480 --> 00:56:04.159
There's a tremendous amount of the change.
00:56:04.400 --> 00:56:18.960
When we change from the inside out, when we heal from the inside out, there's a sometimes there's a lot of external change that has to happen because the external world of your old doesn't mirror the internal world of your new.
00:56:19.280 --> 00:56:20.800
Hear what I just said.
00:56:21.440 --> 00:56:42.239
When you're growing inside, when you discover something in you, when you start healing a deeper you, and you come out and you start living the new you, a lot of times there are components of your external world, your old external world that do not mirror your new internal world.
00:56:42.480 --> 00:56:46.400
That's where I say all the time relationships have to grow or they go.
00:56:46.960 --> 00:57:02.960
That's why divorce posts and my my I have such a passion for that particular website, because there are going to be people waking up every day around partnerships, marriages, long-term relationships that just aren't going to work anymore.
00:57:03.119 --> 00:57:08.639
Because your partner, if you're growing and they're not, it's not going to work eventually.
00:57:08.800 --> 00:57:12.400
The unequally yoked will catch up sooner or later.
00:57:12.559 --> 00:57:15.280
Visit divorce post, let them help.
00:57:16.079 --> 00:57:19.199
And it also happens in work.
00:57:20.159 --> 00:57:21.119
Perfect example.
00:57:21.280 --> 00:57:26.239
You're trying to get sober and you're the manager of a bar, you're going to have to quit your job.
00:57:26.400 --> 00:57:26.800
Period.
00:57:26.880 --> 00:57:27.920
Is that going to be easy?
00:57:28.159 --> 00:57:28.480
No.
00:57:28.880 --> 00:57:30.400
Is sobriety worth it?
00:57:30.639 --> 00:57:31.280
Yes.
00:57:31.599 --> 00:57:37.440
If you're challenged with food, you're going to probably have to get out of the food industry.
00:57:37.679 --> 00:57:38.239
Yes.
00:57:38.480 --> 00:57:49.119
If you're in a relationship, if your home life is going crazy because you're never around, you might have to leave that job that takes you traveling all the time.
00:57:49.360 --> 00:57:50.000
Yes.
00:57:50.559 --> 00:57:55.440
And the priorities of your internal world are going to naturally change your external world.
00:57:55.519 --> 00:57:56.880
And it is going to be scary.
00:57:56.960 --> 00:57:58.400
And you are going to feel doubt.
00:57:58.559 --> 00:57:59.119
You are.
00:57:59.360 --> 00:58:04.559
And that's why when you're changing your external world, it's okay to be afraid.
00:58:05.039 --> 00:58:11.360
And write the voices down, the how to get through it anyway.
00:58:11.840 --> 00:58:13.119
Write them down.
00:58:13.679 --> 00:58:20.000
And then figure out whatever the action step is you need to take, even though you're afraid.
00:58:20.960 --> 00:58:25.360
The illusion is I can't take action steps because I'm afraid.
00:58:29.920 --> 00:58:31.280
That's false.
00:58:31.760 --> 00:58:33.199
Your gut knows.
00:58:33.679 --> 00:58:39.519
And as you're growing inside, your external world will naturally change.
00:58:40.239 --> 00:58:44.559
As my world continued, I came back out after my seven years.
00:58:44.880 --> 00:58:49.519
I met a woman, we got married, I started a business, a networking group.
00:58:49.679 --> 00:58:53.599
So now I'm dealing with small business entrepreneurs.
00:58:53.840 --> 00:59:05.119
I went from blue collar 80 hours a week on the roof as a roofer, owned my own company as an entrepreneur, to a lawn care five bucks an hour.
00:59:05.199 --> 00:59:06.880
I was the grant of the grant.
00:59:07.039 --> 00:59:09.679
To now I'm working with small business owners.
00:59:10.000 --> 00:59:11.119
Can you say doubt?
00:59:11.599 --> 00:59:13.199
Can you say I had no esteem?
00:59:13.360 --> 00:59:15.519
I was barely making enough money to live.
00:59:15.679 --> 00:59:21.199
I was terrified all the time because I had to make money because now I have a wife and a baby, my son Joseph.
00:59:21.440 --> 00:59:22.400
And it was scary.
00:59:22.559 --> 00:59:23.599
Of course it was.
00:59:23.840 --> 00:59:25.280
So what did I do?
00:59:25.519 --> 00:59:30.400
You know, I literally back then I started using the cliches of the program.
00:59:30.960 --> 00:59:35.440
First things first, one step at a time, start moving forward.
00:59:35.679 --> 00:59:40.320
It was I was in a Waffle House before my Leeds Club business was starting.
00:59:40.400 --> 00:59:45.039
I'm in a Waffle House and I'm terrified because I couldn't go back.
00:59:45.280 --> 00:59:51.360
If it was just me, I could go back to living in the woods on 40 bucks a month.
00:59:51.599 --> 00:59:53.039
But it wasn't just me anymore.
00:59:53.119 --> 00:59:54.559
I had a wife and a baby.
00:59:54.800 --> 01:00:02.320
It was in that moment in time in that Waffle House where in this deep angst I couldn't breathe.
01:00:02.800 --> 01:00:05.840
For years when I'm in pain, I asked for strength and courage.
01:00:05.920 --> 01:00:11.199
But it was in that moment I realized I can ask God a higher power.
01:00:11.440 --> 01:00:14.880
Back then I called higher my higher power great spirit or spirit.
01:00:15.039 --> 01:00:18.239
I can ask great spirit first for guidance.
01:00:19.039 --> 01:00:26.719
So the how to keep moving forward is you ask for guidance.
01:00:27.440 --> 01:00:34.159
Ask your higher power to guide you, to tell you, to show you, to help you.
01:00:34.480 --> 01:00:35.119
Ask.
01:00:35.519 --> 01:00:39.440
It's as simple as, dear God, guide me.
01:00:39.760 --> 01:00:41.119
And I'm not kidding.
01:00:41.280 --> 01:00:45.199
And then when you're in your silence, listen for the guidance.
01:00:45.440 --> 01:00:47.119
Listen for the answer.
01:00:47.360 --> 01:00:50.960
You're going to hear all the I can't voices.
01:00:51.199 --> 01:00:55.280
The I can't voices need to be written down on a piece of paper.
01:00:55.519 --> 01:00:59.679
The guidance voices also need to be written down on a piece of paper.
01:00:59.920 --> 01:01:05.440
The I can't voices need to be told to somebody so they don't paralyze you.
01:01:05.679 --> 01:01:11.199
When they're out of you and told to somebody else, their power cuts in half.
01:01:11.519 --> 01:01:16.000
Keeping those voices silent in you are your secrets.
01:01:16.159 --> 01:01:18.079
We're only as sick as our secrets.
01:01:19.039 --> 01:01:21.199
We're only as stuck as our secrets.
01:01:21.360 --> 01:01:24.000
The secrets are the glass empty voices.
01:01:24.159 --> 01:01:26.800
Write them down, tell somebody.
01:01:27.119 --> 01:01:33.199
The glass full, all possibility, the maybe voices, the I hopeful voices.
01:01:33.360 --> 01:01:34.320
Maybe we can do it.
01:01:34.480 --> 01:01:35.280
I think we can.
01:01:35.440 --> 01:01:36.639
We should move this direct.
01:01:36.800 --> 01:01:39.599
All of those voices also need to be written down.
01:01:39.920 --> 01:01:44.239
And if you have the conscious capacity to move forward with that on your own, great.
01:01:44.480 --> 01:01:58.480
But there's a whole world of life coaches and coaches out there and mentors out there that will help you support you in the how-to with your new inspirational voices.
01:01:58.639 --> 01:01:59.280
Literally.
01:01:59.440 --> 01:02:03.280
I've had a counselor my whole life, my entire adult life.
01:02:03.599 --> 01:02:11.519
And now for me personally, the entrepreneurial prowess in me, the entrepreneur in me has just always been huge.
01:02:11.679 --> 01:02:15.679
So I never really needed support from the entrepreneurial side.
01:02:15.840 --> 01:02:16.559
I didn't.
01:02:16.719 --> 01:02:19.360
I just would go bulldoze through and make it happen.
01:02:19.440 --> 01:02:21.280
And that's what happened in that business.
01:02:21.599 --> 01:02:24.400
And I came up with that whole Leeds Club thing.
01:02:24.480 --> 01:02:29.840
And then I came up with because I was doing, I was doing the Leeds Club thing.
01:02:29.920 --> 01:02:33.920
And the Leeds Club business was start to start kind of go away a little bit.
01:02:34.079 --> 01:02:36.480
The recession hit of 2008.
01:02:36.960 --> 01:02:39.360
And this is now 2010.
01:02:39.519 --> 01:02:46.239
And that's where with my Leeds Club business, I was doubt because my self-esteem was so low.
01:02:46.320 --> 01:02:50.719
And I'm around these powerful, successful small business owners.
01:02:51.039 --> 01:03:08.719
And when I the story I'm talking about with the Waffle House, it's like that business is slowing down because I had groups of entrepreneurs, but because of the recession and the 2008, 2009, that whole world here in the States, a lot of those small business owners were going away.
01:03:08.800 --> 01:03:09.760
They couldn't make it.
01:03:09.920 --> 01:03:12.320
So my business is getting smaller and smaller.
01:03:12.400 --> 01:03:17.599
And I'm in fear, literal, because I'm being asked to change again.
01:03:17.920 --> 01:03:20.239
My work world is changing.
01:03:20.559 --> 01:03:24.320
And that's where the Waffle House experience comes in.
01:03:24.639 --> 01:03:31.440
And two days later, I ask, right there, I ask two days later, a guy says, You need to start your own business, Joe.
01:03:31.599 --> 01:03:32.480
Jerry Mazone.
01:03:32.800 --> 01:03:34.719
I said, My own business doing what?
01:03:34.880 --> 01:03:37.760
That's where Avion Energy was started, 2010.
01:03:37.920 --> 01:03:40.320
Now Avion Energy is a much bigger business.
01:03:40.480 --> 01:03:42.480
I was dealing with global accounts.
01:03:42.639 --> 01:03:47.519
I was the guy who called billion-dollar organizations to get contracts with them.
01:03:47.599 --> 01:03:49.920
And that's where that whole business started.
01:03:50.239 --> 01:03:59.039
But the transition between small business owner and big business, bigger business, there was a tremendous amount of doubt.
01:03:59.199 --> 01:04:00.719
A tremendous amount of fear.
01:04:00.880 --> 01:04:04.320
A tremendous amount of concern because I didn't know what I was doing.
01:04:04.559 --> 01:04:11.360
And of course, I'm one of these guys that basically says, I'll call until somebody cusses me out and tells me to stop calling.
01:04:11.519 --> 01:04:12.880
Well, no one cussed me out.
01:04:12.960 --> 01:04:14.400
So I figured it out.
01:04:14.559 --> 01:04:15.679
But was there doubt?
01:04:15.840 --> 01:04:16.159
Yes.
01:04:16.400 --> 01:04:17.199
Was there fear?
01:04:17.440 --> 01:04:17.679
Yes.
01:04:17.920 --> 01:04:19.039
Was there concerns?
01:04:19.360 --> 01:04:19.920
Yes.
01:04:20.239 --> 01:04:21.679
All of the above.
01:04:22.079 --> 01:04:24.880
And I kept moving forward, anyways.
01:04:25.199 --> 01:04:35.280
So if you're in the middle of a big change, if you're in the middle of a job change, if you're in the middle of a relationship change, understand there's going to be doubt.
01:04:35.360 --> 01:04:36.639
That's part of human.
01:04:36.719 --> 01:04:43.280
It has nothing to do with your stability or your spirituality or none of that.
01:04:43.440 --> 01:04:45.280
It's called being human.
01:04:45.599 --> 01:04:53.440
And in that process, what eventually happens, sometimes you can charge through because it's familiar.
01:04:53.679 --> 01:05:00.960
Other times you wake up on a Tuesday morning just trying to figure out what's the next best step.
01:05:01.440 --> 01:05:08.960
And as you figure out what the next best step is, that's the moving forward process, literally.
01:05:10.000 --> 01:05:14.880
How we keep ourselves from doubt paralyzing us, write the voices down.
01:05:15.119 --> 01:05:21.039
As you hear the softer voices because you're practicing silence, write those voices down.
01:05:21.199 --> 01:05:30.079
And then collectively we start building whatever those voices are, whatever the inspirations are, and you start moving that forward.
01:05:30.239 --> 01:05:41.760
I have an entire podcast on that, the dream big dreams and move into dreams into imagination, imagination into inspiration, inspiration into creation, creation into manifestation.
01:05:42.000 --> 01:05:49.920
So that whole thing, if it's a big, it's gonna, if it's a big dream, it's gonna take some time.
01:05:50.159 --> 01:05:59.760
If it's looking for a new job and a new industry, you can go through that whole, that whole phrase, that whole phase right there in two days and go look in the newspaper.
01:06:00.320 --> 01:06:01.599
In a different section.
01:06:01.840 --> 01:06:03.440
And are there going to be doubts?
01:06:03.679 --> 01:06:04.320
Yes.
01:06:04.719 --> 01:06:11.679
Supporting somebody right now who was who's been in the sales side of the world forever.
01:06:11.840 --> 01:06:15.280
Well, she went back to school, got a new degree.
01:06:15.519 --> 01:06:20.719
With this new degree, now when she's out there looking for new jobs, she has a new title.
01:06:20.880 --> 01:06:22.880
So she's looking for a new thing.
01:06:23.199 --> 01:06:31.039
As she's in there now looking in a totally different section of the potential jobs, she's scared to death.
01:06:31.199 --> 01:06:32.320
Of course she is.
01:06:32.639 --> 01:06:33.280
Why?
01:06:33.519 --> 01:06:36.480
Because she's looking in an area she's never looked at.
01:06:36.800 --> 01:06:41.360
And the fear doesn't mean she's looking in the wrong place.
01:06:41.519 --> 01:06:44.639
The fear means she's looking in the exact right place.
01:06:45.199 --> 01:06:47.840
It's fear because of unfamiliar.
01:06:48.079 --> 01:06:51.760
Not fear because wrong, fear because it's unfamiliar.
01:06:51.920 --> 01:06:59.280
And that's where you ask for strength and courage to keep moving forward during the unfamiliar.
01:07:00.400 --> 01:07:02.800
Keep moving forward in my world, right?
01:07:03.760 --> 01:07:05.039
September 20th.
01:07:05.119 --> 01:07:08.639
My my business avion is a it's a very successful business.
01:07:08.800 --> 01:07:09.840
I live a good life.
01:07:09.920 --> 01:07:11.920
You know, my boys now are grown.
01:07:12.079 --> 01:07:14.880
I've been a single dad for 10 years, 11 years.
01:07:15.199 --> 01:07:22.000
And so September 20th, 2022, hear the voice.
01:07:22.400 --> 01:07:24.480
Two new books start channeling through me.
01:07:24.559 --> 01:07:33.760
I do a live stream, and a year ago, right now, I start, I get the idea of meet Miss Wendy with the podcast.
01:07:34.079 --> 01:07:39.199
So the We podcast is literally, can you say I have no freaking idea what I'm doing here?
01:07:39.360 --> 01:07:40.639
I'm not kidding.
01:07:40.960 --> 01:07:43.119
So I I've said it numerous times.
01:07:43.280 --> 01:07:45.360
Thank you all for being patient with me.
01:07:45.519 --> 01:07:53.119
If you hear stuff in my background, if you hear the technology not the greatest, if I I get it, you know, I'm learning all this as I go.
01:07:53.199 --> 01:07:59.440
I'm not trying, I'm doing the best I can with it, but I don't have a staff of people helping.
01:07:59.599 --> 01:08:01.199
I don't even know what the next steps are.
01:08:01.360 --> 01:08:03.920
Miss Wendy said to me, You'd be great.
01:08:04.159 --> 01:08:05.280
Great at what?
01:08:05.599 --> 01:08:06.960
At a podcast show.
01:08:07.199 --> 01:08:09.679
Say, Wendy, I don't know anything about doing a podcast.
01:08:09.840 --> 01:08:10.800
She says, that's fine.
01:08:10.880 --> 01:08:14.239
You push play, you talk, push end, I'll do the rest.
01:08:14.320 --> 01:08:16.159
And that's literally how it started.
01:08:16.479 --> 01:08:20.399
Well, you know, we launched November 11th.
01:08:21.039 --> 01:08:26.239
January the 8th, we hit the top 100 charts in society and culture for the very first time.
01:08:26.399 --> 01:08:28.880
Now, fast forward 54 episodes.
01:08:29.039 --> 01:08:30.640
This is the 54th episode.
01:08:30.800 --> 01:08:32.560
We're globally ranked.
01:08:32.800 --> 01:08:35.680
We're on charts across the globe because of all you.
01:08:35.760 --> 01:08:36.800
I share all that, right?
01:08:36.960 --> 01:08:40.000
So you would naturally think, oh, everything's going great, everything's wonderful.
01:08:40.079 --> 01:08:42.880
Every no, no, that's not it.
01:08:43.119 --> 01:08:46.399
I still wake up on a daily basis saying, what the hell am I doing here?
01:08:46.479 --> 01:08:47.039
What's next?
01:08:47.199 --> 01:08:48.079
What am I supposed to do?
01:08:48.159 --> 01:08:50.159
What else is supposed to be going on with my world?
01:08:50.319 --> 01:08:52.720
You know, like what do I do next?
01:08:52.960 --> 01:08:55.199
And literally in my silence, right?
01:08:55.760 --> 01:08:58.000
And I'm guided back into silence.
01:08:58.079 --> 01:09:02.479
And I share this because I equated silence with solitude and I resisted.
01:09:02.800 --> 01:09:05.760
I rarely resist, I did my higher power.
01:09:05.920 --> 01:09:08.399
I've gone through so much over the years.
01:09:08.560 --> 01:09:10.720
I don't really have all the other voices anymore.
01:09:10.880 --> 01:09:11.520
I don't.
01:09:11.760 --> 01:09:18.159
So when I was guided back into silence, you know, my higher power was basically wanting me to take the headphones off.
01:09:18.319 --> 01:09:24.239
And now five or six hours a day, I just most of the time I hear nothing.
01:09:24.399 --> 01:09:25.520
I'm working a puzzle.
01:09:25.600 --> 01:09:26.640
I don't hear anything.
01:09:26.800 --> 01:09:30.079
But literally, this is all brand new for me.
01:09:30.239 --> 01:09:39.439
The whole podcasting world, the whole getting ready to be out on stages, sharing my message to the globe on stages, you know, as a public speaker.
01:09:39.600 --> 01:09:41.199
That's it, that's a passion for me.
01:09:41.359 --> 01:09:43.600
I've got three books already written.
01:09:43.760 --> 01:09:46.000
The first book, Filling the Void.
01:09:46.239 --> 01:09:48.000
Go to joemitica.com.
01:09:48.079 --> 01:09:50.079
Over this next year, there'll be three different books there.
01:09:50.159 --> 01:09:51.600
You'll get them all for free.
01:09:51.920 --> 01:09:56.960
All of this, it might look beautiful and wonderful from the outside.
01:09:57.119 --> 01:09:59.840
Oh gosh, I don't know what the hell I'm doing.
01:10:00.000 --> 01:10:02.720
I don't, but I just keep doing the right next thing.
01:10:02.800 --> 01:10:06.560
I just keep doing the right next step, and it continues to unfold.
01:10:06.800 --> 01:10:16.000
Well, literally, my 54th podcast, and a couple days ago, I start hearing a voice in my head.
01:10:16.239 --> 01:10:21.359
And I kind of hear it, and I don't pay attention to it at all because I don't hear voices often.
01:10:21.600 --> 01:10:23.760
And here's what the voices started saying to me.
01:10:23.920 --> 01:10:28.239
Now you have to understand the We podcast has exploded around the globe.
01:10:28.399 --> 01:10:32.479
We're probably close to a half a million downloads in less than eight or nine months.
01:10:32.720 --> 01:10:35.039
Extraordinary because of all of you.
01:10:35.199 --> 01:10:36.319
We're connecting.
01:10:36.479 --> 01:10:37.520
I say it all the time.
01:10:37.680 --> 01:10:38.640
I'm just a guy.
01:10:38.880 --> 01:10:42.640
If you met me, I'm the guy sitting next to you at church.
01:10:42.800 --> 01:10:43.520
I'm the guy.
01:10:43.680 --> 01:10:47.119
Look across the way at the Kroger, wherever you shop for food.
01:10:47.279 --> 01:10:48.640
I'm that guy.
01:10:48.960 --> 01:10:50.560
Look at a baseball field.
01:10:50.720 --> 01:10:57.439
If you're in the Southeast, you saw me at a baseball field over the past 10 years, because that's where I was.
01:10:57.680 --> 01:11:00.319
Come to Georgia Highlands, where my son plays baseball.
01:11:00.399 --> 01:11:01.039
You'll see me.
01:11:01.199 --> 01:11:02.159
I'm that guy.
01:11:02.239 --> 01:11:02.960
I am nothing.
01:11:03.039 --> 01:11:04.079
I'm that guy.
01:11:04.399 --> 01:11:06.880
Well, but I don't have the voices.
01:11:07.119 --> 01:11:07.520
Why?
01:11:07.760 --> 01:11:10.079
Because I did what I teach here.
01:11:10.319 --> 01:11:14.479
So when I hear voices, I can hear them pretty clearly.
01:11:14.880 --> 01:11:19.680
And literally, I'm hearing voices that are having doubt.
01:11:19.920 --> 01:11:24.640
I'm hearing a doubt voice about the We podcast.
01:11:24.960 --> 01:11:30.880
The voice will say something like, I wonder what if I don't have something to say next week?
01:11:31.359 --> 01:11:32.640
One of the voices.
01:11:33.279 --> 01:11:35.199
What if people stop listening?
01:11:35.439 --> 01:11:36.720
Another voice.
01:11:37.199 --> 01:11:39.520
What if my stuff gets boring to people?
01:11:39.920 --> 01:11:40.800
Another voice.
01:11:41.359 --> 01:11:43.279
What if I don't know what to say?
01:11:43.840 --> 01:11:45.119
Another voice.
01:11:45.760 --> 01:11:47.039
And there were a couple other.
01:11:47.359 --> 01:11:49.520
What if it stops ranking and everybody goes away?
01:11:50.079 --> 01:11:50.720
Voices.
01:11:51.279 --> 01:11:53.119
Well, do I believe the voices?
01:11:53.359 --> 01:11:53.680
No.
01:11:54.000 --> 01:11:55.760
What do you think I did with the voices?
01:11:55.920 --> 01:11:56.880
Oh, that's right.
01:11:57.119 --> 01:11:58.399
I write them down.
01:11:59.039 --> 01:12:02.800
And I just told a million people my voices.
01:12:03.119 --> 01:12:07.520
I literally just did the exercise I tell people to do all the time.
01:12:07.680 --> 01:12:13.760
I wrote the voices down and then tell someone, well, I just told a million people my voices.
01:12:14.000 --> 01:12:25.279
Now, after, luckily in my world, because I'm practiced at it, after I hear a voice saying, Joe, we podcast isn't about you.
01:12:26.479 --> 01:12:30.239
Joe, God has given you something to say for 30 years.
01:12:30.560 --> 01:12:33.439
Joe, it has nothing to, you know, you're the messenger.
01:12:33.520 --> 01:12:35.680
You're not the you're not the source of the message.
01:12:35.920 --> 01:12:39.119
So I have the glass full voices almost immediately.
01:12:39.279 --> 01:12:40.880
I do, literally.
01:12:41.600 --> 01:12:44.560
But I don't dismiss the doubt voices.
01:12:44.720 --> 01:12:45.199
I don't.
01:12:45.359 --> 01:12:46.640
I write them down.
01:12:47.199 --> 01:12:54.079
And if I have an inner wound, like a little kid wound that has to come up, I wait and I listen.
01:12:54.159 --> 01:12:56.560
And I've been having some of that come up lately.
01:12:56.720 --> 01:12:57.279
I have.
01:12:57.439 --> 01:13:00.720
I've been having a what about me voice come up.
01:13:00.880 --> 01:13:02.640
Now you have to understand.
01:13:03.359 --> 01:13:06.720
My oldest is launched, my youngest is doing his thing.
01:13:06.800 --> 01:13:07.840
He's elite.
01:13:08.079 --> 01:13:10.560
My best friend, my dog Zeus, is gone.
01:13:10.720 --> 01:13:14.640
I spend a tremendous amount of time with just myself.
01:13:14.800 --> 01:13:18.479
I haven't had a female partnership in 12 years.
01:13:18.640 --> 01:13:21.520
So every once in a while, I'll have a what about me?
01:13:21.840 --> 01:13:25.279
Like I give to the world every day.
01:13:25.439 --> 01:13:28.079
I give of myself all the time.
01:13:28.880 --> 01:13:34.000
When will there be somebody that chooses to share their overflow with me?
01:13:34.159 --> 01:13:35.520
I have that voice.
01:13:35.680 --> 01:13:38.800
And that pushes a deep neglect button in me.
01:13:39.039 --> 01:13:42.079
That pushes an adult man button in me.
01:13:42.239 --> 01:13:45.039
You know, I might not ever have a female partnership.
01:13:45.199 --> 01:13:46.159
I hope I do sometime.
01:13:46.239 --> 01:13:47.359
It'd be a lot of fun.
01:13:47.520 --> 01:13:51.600
I have a tremendous amount of glory and joy to share with somebody.
01:13:51.760 --> 01:13:52.960
But right now I don't have it.
01:13:53.119 --> 01:13:54.319
I don't have it in my life.
01:13:54.479 --> 01:13:55.279
I don't.
01:13:55.760 --> 01:13:59.840
And sometimes I don't really have a fear of not having a partner.
01:13:59.920 --> 01:14:09.119
I don't have that fear, but sometimes I feel the sadness of not having anybody, not having a person that holds my head.
01:14:09.279 --> 01:14:15.520
I mean, I was really missing my dog Zeus today, the past couple days, and I don't have anybody to share it with.
01:14:15.600 --> 01:14:17.279
I'm sharing it with all of you.
01:14:17.840 --> 01:14:25.600
But it'd be nice someday to, you know, to have a female partner say, Jesus, Joe, I'm sorry, and just give me a hug.
01:14:26.000 --> 01:14:35.760
So I want you to hear, it doesn't matter where your world is, we are emotional beings, and we're going to be going through our emotional stuff.
01:14:36.399 --> 01:14:41.840
You write down your voices, the massive big ones or the quiet small ones.
01:14:42.079 --> 01:14:43.039
You write them down.
01:14:43.119 --> 01:14:44.159
That's the how-to.
01:14:44.720 --> 01:14:46.640
You write the voices down.
01:14:47.279 --> 01:14:51.840
And trust me, if you've never written them down, go on Amazon.
01:14:52.000 --> 01:14:57.119
You can buy a pad of the legal size papers for like 26 bucks.
01:14:57.359 --> 01:14:58.640
Because you're going to need it.
01:14:58.800 --> 01:15:00.159
You got a ton of them.
01:15:00.399 --> 01:15:07.199
If you're stuck on the couch and you can't move, I can promise you there's 500 voices in your head.
01:15:07.600 --> 01:15:20.000
And in two or three different, in two or three different settings, you write them down and tell somebody, you'll be amazed at how free you become of the voices.
01:15:20.159 --> 01:15:25.279
Not the hurt in the belly that's causing the voices, but free from the voices themselves.
01:15:25.520 --> 01:15:29.439
And of course, when you feel that hurt belly, you dual hand journal.
01:15:29.600 --> 01:15:32.800
Write with the right your dominant hand, answer with the non-dominant.
01:15:32.960 --> 01:15:34.560
Emote the feelings.
01:15:34.800 --> 01:15:39.279
Fellas, get that wiffle ball bat, get a bunch of pictures of people you don't like.
01:15:39.439 --> 01:15:40.960
Stick a couple of your wife in there.
01:15:41.039 --> 01:15:42.079
I know she pisses you off.
01:15:42.239 --> 01:15:43.199
Of course she does.
01:15:43.359 --> 01:15:45.840
She's in your world to push your buttons.
01:15:46.159 --> 01:15:46.880
Period.
01:15:47.119 --> 01:15:50.159
She's not in your world to take your rage out on her.
01:15:50.479 --> 01:15:51.600
But it's okay to put her.
01:15:52.880 --> 01:15:53.600
Tell her, Mr.
01:15:53.840 --> 01:15:54.479
Tell her, Mr.
01:15:54.560 --> 01:15:57.520
Joe said, I am supposed to put a picture of you in my pile.
01:15:57.600 --> 01:16:04.720
I guarantee you, she'll give you 10 pictures of her to put in the pile if you promise to beat the bat and not take your anger out on her.
01:16:04.880 --> 01:16:07.199
And then, of course, make sure you have your headphones.
01:16:07.520 --> 01:16:10.000
Five minutes of grief a week, fellas.
01:16:10.319 --> 01:16:11.680
Just this past couple days.
01:16:11.760 --> 01:16:13.680
I was sad again, pretty, pretty hard.
01:16:13.920 --> 01:16:19.680
Good hour or two about missing my dog Zeus, missing his innocence, missing his energy.
01:16:19.840 --> 01:16:24.159
I'm not now not only in silence, I'm in stillness because Zeus isn't around.
01:16:24.239 --> 01:16:25.840
And it's a different thing.
01:16:26.159 --> 01:16:29.600
And I do exactly what I tell y'all to do.
01:16:29.760 --> 01:16:31.840
I do the exact same things.
01:16:32.239 --> 01:16:41.279
Through that whole process, coming out the other side, I'm walking in faith every day with the We podcast.
01:16:41.439 --> 01:16:44.000
I do not know where this goes.
01:16:44.159 --> 01:16:52.640
I don't really, I don't have an attachment to where it goes, but every day I wake up and I ask, dear God, guide me.
01:16:53.039 --> 01:16:58.079
Literally, as I was getting ready to do this podcast today, I've got one page.
01:16:58.399 --> 01:17:01.600
I really didn't know exactly what I was going to say.
01:17:01.760 --> 01:17:07.039
I just start talking, and here it is, an hour and 17 minutes later.
01:17:07.359 --> 01:17:09.039
And we're all here together.
01:17:09.199 --> 01:17:10.159
It's working.
01:17:10.319 --> 01:17:18.000
I'm a living example of if you do the things that I share here, you can have a very cool life.
01:17:18.239 --> 01:17:23.840
And whatever your thing is making a difference, Dr.
01:17:24.079 --> 01:17:37.840
Reese made a difference in my life because she sent the sympathy card on the exact day I got it, the exact day I was really missing my friend Zeus.
01:17:38.399 --> 01:17:41.920
She made a difference in my life, and I will never forget that.
01:17:42.079 --> 01:17:45.439
You can make a difference in somebody's life today.
01:17:45.680 --> 01:17:55.920
I shared a story of a couple of weeks ago about how there's this teenage female that her parents are cloaking her behaviors in 12 steps.
01:17:56.079 --> 01:17:57.840
Well, I decided what I can do?
01:17:58.000 --> 01:18:00.720
I can send her a text a couple times a day saying Mr.
01:18:00.800 --> 01:18:01.920
Joe loves you and Mr.
01:18:02.000 --> 01:18:03.039
Joe's really proud of you.
01:18:03.199 --> 01:18:04.239
And you know what?
01:18:04.560 --> 01:18:11.039
After doing it every day for about eight or nine days, I finally got an I love you back.
01:18:11.359 --> 01:18:12.960
For her, what does that mean?
01:18:13.119 --> 01:18:16.000
It means as teenagers opening up a little bit.
01:18:16.319 --> 01:18:18.079
That's all people need, folks.
01:18:18.319 --> 01:18:20.720
Be the giver every once in a while.
01:18:21.039 --> 01:18:24.159
Be the person, be the supporter every once in a while.
01:18:24.319 --> 01:18:27.600
You know somebody that's going through a divorce, be the supporter.
01:18:27.760 --> 01:18:29.359
Send them to divorce post.
01:18:29.680 --> 01:18:33.119
If you're the one going through a divorce, go to divorce post.
01:18:33.359 --> 01:18:34.880
Get your self-help.
01:18:35.119 --> 01:18:39.279
Soon I'm gonna have a place, a couple more places I'll send you there.
01:18:39.600 --> 01:18:42.159
Because together we're healing.
01:18:42.479 --> 01:18:44.880
Together, we're moving forward.
01:18:45.039 --> 01:18:49.359
Together, we're becoming aware that it's okay to be afraid.
01:18:50.000 --> 01:18:52.800
And you can move forward, anyways.
01:18:53.119 --> 01:19:00.399
We ask for support, we ask for guidance, we move forward, and as we continue to move forward, we heal.
01:19:00.800 --> 01:19:03.039
As we heal, we feel better.
01:19:03.279 --> 01:19:05.279
As we feel better, we fill.
01:19:05.520 --> 01:19:08.960
As we give our fullness back to the world, that's called overflow.
01:19:09.119 --> 01:19:16.800
And it's in that unconditional overflow that you heal yourself, and together we heal humanity.
01:19:17.359 --> 01:19:18.880
Folks, thanks for being here.
01:19:19.039 --> 01:19:20.960
I really appreciate your support.
01:19:21.119 --> 01:19:26.239
It's been an amazing journey, and together we are truly making a difference.
01:19:26.479 --> 01:19:28.560
One smile at a time.
01:19:28.720 --> 01:19:33.680
