O TYM ODCINKU
On Saturday, May 10, 1986, forty-year-old Frankie Lyvonne "Bonnie" Duvall stepped out of the Loco Café in Loco, Oklahoma, to take a routine, short walk home for dinner supplies. Her personal car remained parked outside, her keys left on the counter. She reached her residence, where she was last seen alive by her husband—and then, she vanished without a trace into the empty expanse of the Oklahoma prairie.
In this episode, we dismantle a forty-year cold case paralyzed not just by a lack of physical evidence, but by a brutal, irreconcilable war of words. Through firsthand media statements from Bonnie’s children and her niece, Meghan Davis, we explore two entirely separate, mutually exclusive realities that split a family tree down the absolute center. Was Bonnie a mother who chose to walk away into a new lifestyle, or was she the victim of a dark domestic tragedy hidden behind a three-day delay and a small-town wall of silence?
We trace the investigation from the volatile field party the night before her disappearance to the high-stakes 2017 OSBI forensic excavation of a collapsed backyard root cellar. Finally, we step back to analyze the case through a professional, trauma-informed social work perspective—unpacking how childhood memory fragments under crisis, the complex psychology of protective caregiver attachment, and the profound tragedy of generational grief alienation.
