00:00:19
Speaker 2: You're listening to the Best of the Odd Couple.
00:00:25
Speaker 3: They won the battle, but they may have lost the war.
00:00:28
Speaker 4: If you're a Chiefs and you feel good, you came into Las Vegas, you beat a previously unbeaten team, you won it there at the end with some clutch plays on special teams in the running game.
00:00:35
Speaker 3: So that was good.
00:00:36
Speaker 4: They're 4-0 on the season's best team in the AFC. The problem is, as you mentioned, Rob, they are currently down their top two wide receiving options. You know, Xavier Worthy, I know in name, but statistically, Rasheed Rice... And Taequann Thornton have been their number one and number two wide receivers so far this season. Thornton had an ugly don't watch the video ankle dislocation. He's going to be out at least three months.
00:00:59
Speaker 5: Yeah, we'll just say 12 to 16. 12 to 16 weeks.
00:01:03
Speaker 4: Rasheed Rice popped a hammy, and who knows? He could be two weeks, could be four weeks. We don't know, but all we know is he's not going to be there anytime soon. So coincidentally, on Monday morning, we got some news coming down from ESPN's Adam Schefter. that the Kansas City Chiefs have been in contact with Tyreek Hill, current free agent rehabbing a knee injury he suffered last season. And Drew Rosenhaus went on record after the fact and said, yes, we've been in contact with several teams. Expect a decision in being on a new team in the coming days. So all signs pointing to the cheetah coming back to the Chiefs.
00:01:39
Speaker 3: Che-che-che-cheetah.
00:01:41
Speaker 5: Tyreek Hill, this is a public service announcement for you.
00:01:44
Speaker 3: Tyreek Hill, hello. You might have to send it to Instagram. Is this on?
00:01:49
Speaker 1: That's really the only way he communicates.
00:01:52
Speaker 5: I'm not female, but I hope you listen to me, Tyreek Hill. I understand how this goes. Roberta Hill is, I mean, Roberta Parker is crazy. He might listen to me then, you know what I'm saying?
00:02:01
Speaker 3: But my point is, don't go to the Kansas City Chiefs under any circumstance. Do not do it.
00:02:10
Speaker 5: Do not help the people who had no money for you, who said, thank you for helping us win a Super Bowl.
00:02:16
Speaker 3: We'll see you later. Don't do it.
00:02:19
Speaker 5: Under any circumstance, you'd be better off going elsewhere. They did it to Eric Bien-Ami. I guess he had no choice because he had no gig, right? So he had to go and get a job or whatever. They put him out. They didn't give him the opportunity, and then they had to go back to Eric Bien-Ami. And now, as years have gone by, now they need you.
00:02:39
Speaker 3: Now they want you.
00:02:41
Speaker 5: They told the biggest lie in the history of the National Football League that if Patrick Mahomes took a team-friendly decision, salary, and contract, he would be able to keep his guys around and there would be a chance for them to win and win and win some more. Except for when it was time to pay Tyreek Hill. And they said, ah, we're not going to pay you. Thanks for your help, but we're not going to pay you. Players kill me. You already won a Super Bowl.
00:03:12
Speaker 3: With the Chiefs.
00:03:13
Speaker 5: You don't need to go back there to win. And they've won without you. So it ain't like they've never won again, and you're going to go back and prove that if I come back, I'll be— they won without you. I hate to break— hello? They won without you. Andy Weed, thank you, but no thank you. Patrick Mahomes, thank you, but no thank you. There were other opportunities, other situations out there. Listen to somebody else, and I would take more money from a team or a situation— or the same money from another organization.
00:03:49
Speaker 3: Or team rather than go back groveling to.
00:03:52
Speaker 5: The Kansas City Chiefs who discarded you like a slab of undersized ribs with no sauce that fell on the ground.
00:04:01
Speaker 3: Like, that's what they did. Like whose ground, though? Like my own home?
00:04:05
Speaker 6: No.
00:04:05
Speaker 3: Okay.
00:04:06
Speaker 5: Out on the ground with hair and dirt and mouth droppings. That's what the ribs did.
00:04:10
Speaker 3: Okay, you took it too far.
00:04:11
Speaker 5: Okay, I'm just telling you. I do not understand it. Do not give in. It's not all home week. Go call up and talk to OBJ. Go back and talk to OBJ. And now OBJ feels like they pimped him. I didn't see that coming.
00:04:30
Speaker 1: What?
00:04:31
Speaker 5: Did you see that? No, but did you see that? Like, oh, they made money off of me. They sold jerseys and all. That was the reason they brought you back, to sell jerseys and all this and a homecoming, and now he thought that they played him. I didn't see that coming. And that one target I had, three weeks. My whole point is, don't do it. Tyree Kill, tell those guys to take a hike.
00:04:55
Speaker 3: No thank you. I don't agree.
00:04:58
Speaker 1: I get some of your points, especially the money one.
00:05:00
Speaker 3: But I don't fully agree. And listen to me.
00:05:04
Speaker 1: Tyreek Hill, for the last two years since I've been sitting next to you, all he does is flirt with the Chiefs.
00:05:10
Speaker 3: Hey, Boo, how you been?
00:05:12
Speaker 1: Sending him emojis while he was with the Dolphins, even before the injury, sending them memes, putting stuff on Twitter, putting stuff on Instagram. And sometimes, listen, you think you're better off without Boo. Sometimes you want to move on. Sometimes they want to move on. Maybe we can do this thing separately. But sometimes, Daggona Donovan, you have to be what?
00:05:32
Speaker 3: Tell them.
00:05:35
Speaker 1: You know what this is, Rob. Reunited, and it feels so good. That's what the daggone Chiefs and Tyreek Hill are about to be.
00:05:43
Speaker 3: Reunited, and it feels so good. Come back, baby!
00:05:48
Speaker 2: Come back!
00:05:49
Speaker 3: Okay, can you sing an OBJ song? Because he got reunited, too. Well, one of them has something to take. The other don't. The other one's riding on E. They both came back. The other one don't have no battery. It's just an EV vehicle. OBJ has no battery. He is in need of charge.
00:06:05
Speaker 5: Aaron Donald is at a hospital getting his back rubbed down.
00:06:08
Speaker 3: That was a good reunited too. Hold on.
00:06:10
Speaker 1: The rest of the Cleveland Indians you're looking at, not the Browns right now.
00:06:14
Speaker 3: Relax. Let me get back to what I'm saying. Reunited.
00:06:17
Speaker 5: Look at these White Sox, man. They just got a big two-out, two-run hit. Was that a double a right field?
00:06:23
Speaker 3: I looked away.
00:06:24
Speaker 6: Man. Look.
00:06:26
Speaker 1: With Tyreek Hill, we know for a fact how potent that offense was. They were first in yards the first year they had him. He had 1,500 yards and 12 touchdowns. The next year, they were fifth. The next year, they were first again. The next year, they were third. With Tyreek Hill, they go from, oh, a good offense to a special, historic type of offense.
00:06:44
Speaker 3: We haven't heard from Tyree Hill since he left.
00:06:46
Speaker 1: He had a good season the first year with Dolphins, but then it just all got messed up. He started flirting with the Chiefs. He kept putting out the memes and the gifs. He wanted to go back. Then he's injured. Then him and Tua aren't seeing eye to eye. And to me, I'm looking at it as I totally understand what you're saying, but sometimes we're better together. And you know those couples. We all know that for that one couple. He tried to leave her. She tried to leave him. And at the end of the day, we're better together. We work well together. So they got Eric being to be back. Tyreek Hill, come on back. Get that offense, which is already fifth right now. And in third, if you go to yards per game, total yards per game. But having Thornton out, Rasheed Rice out, you need a guy. Like, there's no other way. And they're not playing to just be good, Rob. They're not playing to just make the playoffs. They're one of those teams, and it happens to the Dodgers in baseball and basketball. If you want to go, we don't really have those types of teams right now. But historically, the Lakers, historically, the Celtics, where they're competing for championships. They're chasing, trying to chase Tom Brady and the Patriots. And so they need to win. So I think they're going to excuse all things. All is forgiven. He's going to say all is forgiven. Let's try to get back out here. And they're 4-0. And let's try to keep competing and win games. And I think that's where they are.
00:07:55
Speaker 3: They're on a race.
00:07:57
Speaker 1: To try to do something that, again, the Patriots did, of just winning a bunch of Super Bowls under a certain amount of time. So Tyreek Hill absolutely helps them. He still has some in the tank, unlike OBJ. Are you sure, too?
00:08:09
Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm sure.
00:08:09
Speaker 5: I mean, because you were sure about the Texans' defense being good, too.
00:08:13
Speaker 6: I was.
00:08:14
Speaker 5: Yeah, okay.
00:08:14
Speaker 3: Are they still good? They're still long season.
00:08:16
Speaker 6: Okay.
00:08:16
Speaker 3: No, are they good?
00:08:17
Speaker 7: No.
00:08:17
Speaker 3: Okay, all right. They all right.
00:08:20
Speaker 1: They were historic last year. All he has to have is half of what he has. One-tenth is better than OBJ. OBJ ain't done that in years, and he got one target. So absolutely, to me, if I'm Tyreek Hill, he's been flirting with them, Ron, since I've been sitting next to you. And for them, it only makes sense to go ahead and get them, find some type of deal, bring them back. He has stability there. He knows the playbook. He knows the players. He knows the facility. To me, it's just a match made in heaven. Just go ahead and do it.
00:08:47
Speaker 3: Tyreek, I'm going to give you this warning. Going back.
00:08:52
Speaker 5: And playing for the Chiefs as if this is a reunion would be like people trying to get Milli Vanilli back.
00:08:57
Speaker 1: It's phony.
00:08:58
Speaker 3: Don't do it.
00:08:59
Speaker 5: They're being phony about you. They only want you because they need you.
00:09:03
Speaker 3: Yes, you're right.
00:09:04
Speaker 5: Not because they really wanted you, which they could have talked to you and said, as soon as you're.
00:09:09
Speaker 3: Healthy, we don't care who's on the roster. We're going to bring you back.
00:09:14
Speaker 5: Like, I would never go back because once someone shows you your value to them, seriously, when it's your turn to get paid, I could never go back, never, never, ever.
00:09:24
Speaker 6: Rob G.
00:09:25
Speaker 3: I don't believe it.
00:09:26
Speaker 6: Never.
00:09:27
Speaker 3: I'm telling you. Which C could call him? CBS, NBC?
00:09:30
Speaker 1: Come back on TV. We want to do Sunday night pick the sport with you. You'll be like, oh, look at you. What are you talking about? You'll be right back with Pick a C. NBC, CBS.
00:09:42
Speaker 3: What's another C? ABC, BBD. You'll be back with all of them.
00:09:47
Speaker 5: Another run for the White Sox. Wow.
00:09:49
Speaker 3: Don't try to change the subject right now.
00:09:50
Speaker 1: 4-2.
00:09:51
Speaker 6: All right.
00:09:51
Speaker 3: 877-99 on Fox.
00:09:52
Speaker 2: 877-996-6369.
00:09:52
Speaker 5: I didn't want to do it. I fought him tooth and nail. That's the difference. Look at that.
00:10:02
Speaker 3: They just offered me. I had to do it. I could have been remarried.
00:10:08
Speaker 5: I just want you to know.
00:10:09
Speaker 3: Well, we know that. We do know that.
00:10:11
Speaker 5: And that ship sailed.
00:10:13
Speaker 3: I'll give you that. That ship sailed. I'll give you marriage. I'm not giving you work. That ship sailed. You like work more than marriage.
00:10:19
Speaker 6: No, no, no.
00:10:20
Speaker 5: I'm just telling you. If you don't have any pride or any... He already been begging. If you don't have any pride, man, you're in trouble.
00:10:28
Speaker 1: He's been begging for years. That's why I said I get the sentiment, but he's been begging for years.
00:10:32

00:11:14
Speaker 3: Well, you know who's not doing that right now is the Detroit Lions. Yes. Our Detroit Lions. They all need a hug right now. Oh, my gosh.
00:11:22
Speaker 4: They found a way to go up against a depleted Carolina Panthers team.
00:11:28
Speaker 3: Another one. Depleted.
00:11:29
Speaker 4: Down about eight starters, depending on how you feel about Jalen Coker. Down eight starters, and yet the Detroit Lions did what they always do. They scored right around 30 points. They gave up right around 30 points. They found a way to lose on prime time, 34-30. Oh, you meant 34-30. That's the wrong game. Either way, they found a way to lose. Jared Goff had a chance to win it there at the end. Couldn't quite get it done. Long story short, the Detroit Lions defense lets them down one again.
00:11:59
Speaker 3: They lose 32-26.
00:12:01
Speaker 1: And this is my issue. It's with Brad Holmes. Brad Holmes, you knew this. The general manager... the man who is fully aware because of regular old sports fans, not even Detroit lion fans are fully aware that the Detroit lions defense and specifically the secondary has been thin.
00:12:20
Speaker 3: Where have you been?
00:12:22
Speaker 1: You have two of the better safeties in all of football, pro bowlers and all of that last year.
00:12:29
Speaker 3: They're out.
00:12:31
Speaker 1: And we all knew this. I'm going to be out for a very long time. Devastating injuries. You do nothing. Cornerbacks hurt.
00:12:38
Speaker 3: We knew that.
00:12:39
Speaker 1: Some of them in them streets, acting like he's not an NFL player out here trying to go rob people. You knew these things were happening, and yet you never went to get some help. And it's been two years now of not doing anything to address the secondary or really the defense as a whole. And to me, Rob, that's malpractice when you have to always rely on the offense. Jared Goff has been very good for this team for years now. The offense has been one of the top two, three scoring offense for years now. But can they get some help? We talk about this all the time in sports. Can they have a game? We just talk about this with the Eagles. Can I have a game where I score 12 points and we win? Can we have a game where we score 17 points and win? The Lions shouldn't have to always score 28, 29, 32, 35 points to win, and they did nothing about it.
00:13:26
Speaker 3: And Dan Campbell, hello, I'm going full Rob Parker.
00:13:30
Speaker 1: Is this thing on? Dan Campbell, it's all right to get mad in front of a camera. It's all right to call out some guys. It's all right to start calling out, if you want to call out the defensive coordinator, Kelvin Shepard, I don't believe it's all on him because he doesn't have the ingredients to cook the proper recipe. But it's okay to try to light some fire. And I'm sure he does it in the film room and at practice. I'm not questioning that. But every time I see him at the end of a game, man, gee golly, I'll tell you, look, we're right there, you know, and we just got to keep working. Hey, fire somebody up. And it's disappointing if you're Jared Goff to be sitting here saying, yo, we got an offense that can continue week in, week out to produce. A weekend that you look at, you're down 14, yet all of a sudden they're right back in games, and it's wasted, and they're wasting an opportunity. And the windows in sports is always very, very, it ain't open like that. Very few teams have that thing kicked wide open. And the window is essentially very much almost closed, and you have an offense that's the only reason why it's keeping it open, Rob, and you're not doing anything. And you know what the Cowboys did? We talk about their defense. They went out and got some guys. Now, they still got work to do, but they went out and got some guys. And then even during the season, they went out and got Joey Porter Jr.
00:14:41
Speaker 3: To help solidify the defense. Why didn't the Lions?
00:14:45
Speaker 1: So I genuinely am confused on what they're doing when you know you have an offense that's one of the best in the league and has been for years, and you're not going to assist them. You're not going to help. You're taking advantage of them. You're putting way too much pressure on them, and I don't think that's fair if you're the offensive side of the ball to say, man, if we had a middle-of-the-road ranking, they're 32nd, Rob, in scoring defense. They're at the very bottom of total defense of yards, and they've been like this now for a couple of years.
00:15:15
Speaker 3: So to me, at what point do you address it?
00:15:17
Speaker 1: At what point do you say, I'm going to at least give you an 18th-ranked defense and see if you guys can compete? Because that's what they did a couple of years ago, and they competed. They had a 7th-ranked in 2024. That's why they're 15-2. 2023, they were 19th, and that's why they were 12-5. Go out there and help out this team and help out this offense. I genuinely don't get it, Rob. Sometimes things are glaring. Some teams, you can't figure it out. This is the glaring deficiency of this team, and they need to fix it.
00:15:45
Speaker 3: You were talking.
00:15:45
Speaker 5: About Dan Gamble should fire up people. How about fire people, starting with Kelvin Shepard? Because it's easy for you to say, well, they don't have the players.
00:15:59
Speaker 3: Well, wait a minute.
00:16:02
Speaker 5: If he gets the most out of them, you give him credit and say, look at the job he's done.
00:16:08
Speaker 3: If he doesn't, All the players and everybody, oh, it's not his fault.
00:16:12
Speaker 5: The players aren't. Well, which one is it? Okay, because we do give people credit. How is Aaron Glenn, right? Why is he the head coach of the Jets? Because they thought he did a good job with the.
00:16:22
Speaker 3: Defense, right?
00:16:23
Speaker 5: Not that the players played and he had nothing to do with it. It was about what he did. And so you're saying he doesn't matter? The coach doesn't matter at all? And Dan Campbell has squandered this. Detroit, people know. You know what the Lions, the big picture, the small picture is they don't win any big games anymore, Kelvin, right, on national television.
00:16:48
Speaker 3: They get embarrassed.
00:16:50
Speaker 5: A loss like this, people look and go, what happened to the Lions? And what you're talking about, Kelvin, is trying to get back to respectability. The Lions are trying to get back to respectability, right? They were supposed to be trying to win a Super Bowl. They were supposed to be in the mix for a Super Bowl. Now you're trying to get back to respectability?
00:17:14
Speaker 3: See, that's what we did. It's over. It's over here. It's over.
00:17:19
Speaker 5: You can talk about the top five offense. You're not winning if you can't stop anybody. Kelvin, they've given up more yards than the 0-16 defense.
00:17:29
Speaker 3: That team. No, I know.
00:17:31
Speaker 1: 0-16.
00:17:31
Speaker 3: Can I give you this?
00:17:33
Speaker 5: The Lions have already roughly given up 38% of their passing yards and 35% of their passing touchdowns. Didn't they surrender all last year in the first four games?
00:17:45
Speaker 3: They are on pace to finish the season. You ready?
00:17:48
Speaker 5: Allowing close to 6,000 passing yards and 47 touchdowns.
00:17:53
Speaker 3: That's what they're on pace for. Go ahead. Put a Band-Aid on it. They have cancer. I'm sorry. You're not going to fix this. But that's where I disagree with you. You're not going to fix this.
00:18:10
Speaker 1: What do you mean you can't fix it when it's literally the worst by far? You just told me how historically bad it is. And first of all, to get Brian Branch back, you're talking about a Pro Bowl safety.
00:18:18
Speaker 3: That's huge. No, but you refused to fire a coach or make a change. It ain't working.
00:18:24
Speaker 5: Then I need somebody who can take what we have and make it better. Change the scheme to not let them throw the ball downfield.
00:18:32
Speaker 8: And guys are wide open. You're talking about players making plays? Did you watch? Wide open. Every number one receiver got 175 yards. They have become the get right team.
00:18:45
Speaker 1: Every team circles the Lions and goes, when we play them, I'm going to throw yards I've never thrown before. You got receivers catching 15, 16, 17 receptions. And so I hear you on Kelvin Shepard. I have no problem if he's gone. My point is, Brad Holmes, you knew this. You never acquired– it's two seasons now. You've literally done nothing. Everybody's like, wait, what's the moves? You read all the other guys. This team made this team.
00:19:12
Speaker 3: They're giving in. They're trading here. They're doing this. Kelvin, you picked them to win the division.
00:19:16
Speaker 6: Yes.
00:19:17
Speaker 3: Okay, with the roster. So let me ask you. I'm going to ask you.
00:19:21
Speaker 5: So you didn't say before the season started, there's no way they're going to win the division or make the playoffs because their roster defensively is terrible.
00:19:28
Speaker 1: Yes. You did not say that. I said that's the reason why I don't have them. You said, why aren't they going to the Super Bowl? No, no, but I'm answering your question. But you picked them to win the division. Okay, with a bad defense like this, historically bad with the talent.
00:19:38
Speaker 3: I didn't know it was going to be historically bad.
00:19:39
Speaker 1: Why would you look at the talent is what I'm saying. Right, but I didn't know it would be historically bad. I knew it would be bad. I thought it would be maybe a 20th in that offense keep a minute. You look around now, you're all of a sudden 11-6, 12-5, something like that. You compete for the division. This is horrifically bad. You just mentioned it. If they played a singular quarterback for 17 games, he would have thrown 6,000 yards at them. You can't be the get-right team. You can't be the team. All of a sudden, everybody circles in there like, yeah, can't wait to play them. So I'm just, I'm blown away with that.
00:20:14
Speaker 3: I'm blown away.
00:20:15
Speaker 1: That's the point, Rob. They can be bad defensively. They can be historically bad.
00:20:19
Speaker 3: My gosh. And Breck, please go get somebody. Look at some waivers. Make some trades. Come on.
00:20:27
Speaker 1: You're squandering and wasting one of the best offense for the last four or five years.
00:20:33
Speaker 3: Just wasting it. The team is not good. You can talk about the offense.
00:20:37
Speaker 5: You're not winning anything with a top-five offense when you can't stop anybody. Last year, we saw it. Even last year, J.J. McCarthy, who couldn't even play, beat you at home. We saw over and over. Aaron Rodgers came back against the defense. Don't you remember in that big game in Detroit?
00:20:54
Speaker 3: Another one. Go look in the fourth quarter. No, I'm fully aware. That's my point.
00:21:00
Speaker 1: How are we talking about this last year and nothing was done over the summer?
00:21:03
Speaker 5: But my point is, but you still picked them to win the division despite them not making changes.
00:21:08
Speaker 6: Okay.
00:21:09
Speaker 1: That's what I'm asking. All right, 877-99 on Fox. Get Kirby back, Joseph, at some point. But you got to make some moves, something.
00:21:18

Speaker 1: Former Pro Bowl receiver, co-host of Up On Game on Fox Sports Radio.
00:21:33
Speaker 3: TJ, what up, man?
00:21:35
Speaker 6: What's going on, fellas?
00:21:37
Speaker 3: How are you? A lot of bad football we've been watching. How about that?
00:21:40
Speaker 6: Oh, man. I wouldn't say it's bad, but it's bad to a certain degree, yeah.
00:21:46
Speaker 3: Well, what's up?
00:21:47
Speaker 1: Listen, just to put a button on the conversation we just had. You knew, I knew, Rob knew, everybody knew the Lions defense was going to be terrible this season.
00:21:55
Speaker 5: TJ, you would have 300 yards if you played against the Lions right now.
00:21:58
Speaker 3: I'm talking about right now, not in your prime.
00:22:01
Speaker 6: Hey, you know I picked the Panthers, right? That tells you all you need to know. I picked the Panthers to win the game because the Lions can't stop anybody. And if you can get a few stops a game playing the Detroit Lions, it's going to be hard. I think the problem with the Lions is Calvin Shepard has to be coordinator. He wants to play man-to-man. You don't have man-to-man guys. So you have to adjust now because you see your DVs aren't man-to-man guys. You must adjust. And so he's going to have to adjust the style of play on defense or the Lions would have had a very small window and that window now may be closed.
00:22:43
Speaker 1: Yeah, and we talked about that. I just don't get why they didn't do anything to address that in the offseason. We got some crazy stuff happening in baseball, too. We'll get you in just a second. It was like a fair catch in baseball.
00:22:51
Speaker 5: It hit the roof again, and then the guy in the outfield caught it.
00:22:55
Speaker 3: Yeah, we got to talk about this.
00:22:57
Speaker 6: Y'all know I'm a baseball fan. I'm watching all the games. I'm heading to the— we win this series. I'm heading to about two Dodger games.
00:23:03
Speaker 3: Yes. Oh, my God.
00:23:04
Speaker 5: This is in the Yankees' Rays game, so they're trying to figure it out.
00:23:07
Speaker 3: All right.
00:23:08
Speaker 5: TJ— I do want to ask you about the Rams. They got a gift from the Eagles. Just some terrible 0 for 12 on third down. Like nine players missing. The Rams had to struggle to come back and win that game. Soriani pitched, I mean, coached a terrible game. But what about the Rams? Like they were bad for three quarters. They really looked bad. Stafford had two interceptions. They couldn't get a lot going. They couldn't get anything done.
00:23:36
Speaker 1: 0 for 12 on third down the Eagles were. You think you could capitalize off of that?
00:23:40
Speaker 3: What are you? What do you make from them?
00:23:42
Speaker 6: That's a sign of a good team when you can do all that the Rams said you just– what you just said they did and still win the game on the road against a good team. And so, like, we got to stop this, Rob, of– Always blaming Sirianni when they lose gives everybody else the credit when they win. If we're going to blame Sirianni for all the losses, then we got to give him credit for the wins. We can't just be one-sided.
00:24:11
Speaker 5: I agree with that, but my only issue would be there were a couple situations where you can't get it You're going for it on fourth down.
00:24:19
Speaker 3: You can't get it on third down.
00:24:21
Speaker 5: You're at the first and goal at the goal line. You can't get it in. You don't kick to make it a two-touchdown game instead, right? And I just, I don't know. I looked at that game and thought, there's no way that they should have given that game up. And I thought that his coaching in the fourth quarter was bad.
00:24:38
Speaker 6: I agree. I've seen the numbers. At some point, because.
00:24:46
Speaker 6: When they win, we give Jalen Hurts credit. We get his credit. Jalen Hurts is a top 10 quarterback. He's won a Super Bowl.
00:24:52
Speaker 3: He's MVP.
00:24:54
Speaker 6: When things don't go the way they should go, he has to take the blame because he's getting the credit. Last year was Kevin Petullo. It was Nick Ceriani.
00:25:03
Speaker 3: It was this.
00:25:04
Speaker 6: Who is it this year?
00:25:06
Speaker 3: I mean, and A.J. Brown is gone, too, so, you know. Things are supposed to be better.
00:25:10
Speaker 5: But, T.J., you also got to look at that team, their offensive and defensive line. This is not the team that won the Super Bowl.
00:25:17
Speaker 6: Defensive line is still very good.
00:25:20
Speaker 3: Offensive line is awful.
00:25:21
Speaker 6: Offensive line, Saquon Barkley was out. It's a little different.
00:25:25
Speaker 5: They were missing nine players and still had a 20-10 lead.
00:25:29
Speaker 6: The Rams is missing Miles Garrett. and Aaron Donald, and they still won the game.
00:25:34
Speaker 5: Okay, but they're still 2-2. They're still 2-2. This team was supposed to be undefeated. Where is that team? Matthew Stafford has six interceptions in four games.
00:25:44
Speaker 6: I'm getting the impression from Mr. Rob Parker that he's not in on the Rams. I'm not in.
00:25:49
Speaker 3: No, no, no. Silence of the Lambs. He wasn't in for a jump. He said make him a Euro.
00:25:55
Speaker 6: I promise you, the Rams just have a really good team. To play the way they played, TJ.
00:26:01
Speaker 3: Let's stop. Let's just stop.
00:26:03
Speaker 5: So you got them winning the Super Bowl, TJ? TJ, you got them winning the Super Bowl?
00:26:09
Speaker 6: I have them going to the Super Bowl. No, no, no, no, no.
00:26:11
Speaker 3: Are they winning the Super Bowl, TJ Hushmanzada?
00:26:14
Speaker 6: You want me to pick one out of 32?
00:26:15
Speaker 3: Yes, yes, I do. You played in the National Football League.
00:26:19
Speaker 5: Yes, I want you to go out on a limb.
00:26:21
Speaker 6: The Rams will be a team that is in contention.
00:26:24
Speaker 3: Do they win the Super Bowl?
00:26:26
Speaker 5: Yes or no?
00:26:27
Speaker 6: We're week four. We're week five.
00:26:29
Speaker 5: I don't care.
00:26:30
Speaker 6: If Matthew Stafford gets hurt or Hooker gets hurt.
00:26:34
Speaker 5: Bill Plasky wrote that they were going to go 20-0 and make this to win the Super Bowl.
00:26:39
Speaker 6: If he said 20-0, he knows better than that.
00:26:43
Speaker 3: He did.
00:26:44
Speaker 5: He picked them to go undefeated in the season and to win the Super Bowl.
00:26:47
Speaker 3: You got one more time to be with Bill Plasky. No, because I read that column and I threw up in my mouth.
00:26:52
Speaker 6: But I like the Rams. to represent the NFC barring any major injury in the Super Bowl. I do.
00:26:59
Speaker 1: Yeah, I had them going, but they got to look better than they have through this first quarter of.
00:27:03
Speaker 3: The season for sure. What about the other teams in the division? They're no good. The 49ers, they're no joke.
00:27:09
Speaker 6: The 49ers are good. The Seahawks are good. But when you look at The totality of both teams, I believe the Rams are better on both sides of the ball. Wow.
00:27:18
Speaker 3: I don't see it. Here's T.J.
00:27:19
Speaker 1: Houshmazada on with the iCouple on a Magic City Monday. I want to go to a team. Me and Rob, I brought this up to him. We don't ever talk about. But all they've done is have a great record under their coach, Liam Cohen.
00:27:31
Speaker 3: They just get a big win against the Bengals.
00:27:33
Speaker 1: And they are thinking they've won, what, like one– 10 straight games if you include 10-1, I think it is.
00:27:38
Speaker 6: 11-1.
00:27:39
Speaker 3: 11-1 in their last 12.
00:27:41
Speaker 1: Yeah. Why is nobody talking about the Jags? We just don't buy them. We got to see the postseason. I mean, but yet they keep taking.
00:27:47
Speaker 3: Care of business.
00:27:48
Speaker 6: It's because they're in Jacksonville, and nobody is really a believer in Trevor Lawrence. They're going to have to see more of Liam Cohen. is a very, very good coach. Comes up under McVay, goes to Tampa Bay, does really well with Baker, gets the head coaching job. He just is a great play caller, great designer of plays. The Jacksonville Jaguars are for real. That defense they have is really, they're very good up front. They're good on the back end. They just have a good team.
00:28:22
Speaker 1: Couple picks now for Travis Hunter. Got two picks in the back-to-back weeks.
00:28:26
Speaker 6: Even though the one against the Bengals didn't count for the rough and the passer, I get it. Because that Trevor Lawrence, first pick, gets into the league, he doesn't do much. Right. That's why the Jags aren't getting their credit is because Trevor Lawrence, the way... Even when he signed his contract, everybody's like, wait, wait, wait. They're giving Trevor Lawrence what? And so... Once they put this season, I'm a believer in the Jags. The way they just beat the Bengals, even though Joe kind of gave them a couple picks that, you know, he probably shouldn't have thrown when both top receivers were out. The Jags are a really good team. Really good. And they lost a close one to Denver. I think it was week two, 20-13. That's a close loss.
00:29:08
Speaker 5: All right, what about the Texans 0-4, D'Amico Ryans? There's some issues there. I didn't think I told Kelvin when the year started. I didn't expect the same defense. Everybody just penciled in that they were going to hold people to nine points, and it's just not happening.
00:29:23
Speaker 3: And now they find themselves 0-4.
00:29:24
Speaker 5: And there have been questions about D'Amico Ryans in handling the game at the end, time management, different stuff like that.
00:29:32
Speaker 3: What's going on there?
00:29:34
Speaker 6: I'm shocked. I'm shocked. You're a defensive coach? You return every day. player that mattered from last year's team, and you guys should have gotten a little better through the draft and just more experience. C.J. Stroud is better. The offense is better. Week one, offense takes the lead. Against Buffalo.
00:29:55
Speaker 3: How many touchdowns does C.J. Stroud have in five games?
00:29:57
Speaker 5: I'm just curious.
00:29:58
Speaker 3: What do you think?
00:29:59
Speaker 5: I'm asking.
00:29:59
Speaker 6: I know he has zero interceptions. I know that.
00:30:02
Speaker 3: How many touchdowns?
00:30:04
Speaker 6: I'm a guess. I don't even know. I'll say nine?
00:30:08
Speaker 5: No, five in four games. It's not as people thinking like he's lighting it up. He ain't lighting it up.
00:30:14
Speaker 3: I mean, 1,100 yards, five touchdowns. I'm just saying he's got five touchdowns in four games. That's all.
00:30:20
Speaker 6: That's 280 yards a game, basically.
00:30:22
Speaker 3: I'm just saying.
00:30:23
Speaker 4: That's. No, no, no.
00:30:24
Speaker 6: See, and again, and again, Rob, if I give my defense, that's supposed to be one of the best defenses in the league, a lead.
00:30:33
Speaker 3: No, that was last year, TJ. You're living in last year.
00:30:36
Speaker 2: No, no, no.
00:30:36
Speaker 6: It's not last year.
00:30:37
Speaker 3: Yes, it is. There haven't been good years at all this year.
00:30:41
Speaker 6: Rob Parker, week one, week one.
00:30:44
Speaker 3: C.J.
00:30:45
Speaker 6: Stroud drives down the field, gets his defense to lead against Buffalo. They drop the wide-open interception, and they lose the game.
00:30:51
Speaker 3: Wait a minute. Wait a minute. That happens in games all the time. Now you're going to say that wasn't.
00:30:56
Speaker 6: But it doesn't happen to us.
00:30:57
Speaker 3: But also what you left out is C.J. Stroud in that.
00:31:00
Speaker 5: Very same game had a chance, fumbled when he was sacked.
00:31:05
Speaker 3: He gave up the football. That's what ended the game. How come you don't remember that play?
00:31:10
Speaker 6: How come? When your defense is the strength of your team and the offense scores– The defense just sealed the game. They did not. They let Buffalo drive down the field and beat them. 90-some yards, mind you, and beat them. And then week two, they lost to the Bengals. Offense didn't do anything. That's fine. Week three, and this is all off the top of the head. Week three, you get the lead against the Colts. Defense gets it up again. Game win and field goal. Yesterday, you get the lead against the Cowboys. Defense gives it up again. This is not a C.J. Stroud issue. This is a defense that can't close out games. Okay. Because in three of your four losses, you are on the field with the lead with less than three minutes left, and the defense has– where's all the money? Danil Hunter, big money.
00:31:58
Speaker 3: All right, here we go.
00:31:59
Speaker 6: Singly, big money.
00:32:01
Speaker 3: Are they making the playoffs, yes or no? That's all I want to hear from you.
00:32:05
Speaker 6: Yes or no? They've been down this road before. This is not a road that they're not accustomed to. They make the playoffs. Wow. Okay.
00:32:12
Speaker 3: All right. I don't see it. CJ, man.
00:32:15
Speaker 4: TJ.
00:32:15
Speaker 3: Talking about CJ Stroud. TJ, appreciate you, brother. Thank you, man. We'll do it again next week.
00:32:20
Speaker 6: My dollars. Y'all keep up the great work.
00:32:21
Speaker 3: For sure. Appreciate it.

00:21:18
Speaker 2: Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsportsradio.com. And within the iHeartRadio app, search FSR to listen live.
00:21:30
