O TYM ODCINKU
Remember the friend Rob cut off over a Pokémon card? He showed up. Not a text — a knock on the front door at 10am on a Saturday, having tracked down the address from a months-old screenshot.
What follows is a genuinely surprising redemption, and Rob has to admit maybe RJ was right about giving people the benefit of the doubt. (Rob, for the record, pre-blocked the guy on ChatGPT. RJ blocked him on MySpace just in case.)
From there it's a full sci-fi summit. Robbie's building a digital pizza empire on Roblox — pizza street, virtual trade school, possible digital unemployment. Then the main event: RJ makes his case for Stargate SG-1 (the ancients, the gate network, the Asgard, world-building with more layers than an onion), Rob makes his case for Interstellar, so they make a deal. RJ watches Interstellar again with fresh eyes; Rob watches two episodes of Stargate SG-1, curated by RJ. They'll reconnoiter at a later shift.
Also: John Cena interrogating Tweety Bird, Project Hail Mary, and why RJ has to narrate his own thought process just to understand his own sentences.
In this episode:
- The Pokémon reconciliation nobody saw coming — including the light stalking
- Robbie's Roblox pizza economy and the specter of digital unemployment
- Coyote vs. Acme: John Cena and Looney Tunes
- The Stargate SG-1 pitch: the ancients, the Asgard, and why Earth doesn't just steal alien tech
- Interstellar vs. Stargate SG-1 — the deal, the terms, and the rematch to come

00:00:13.839 --> 00:00:14.880
Welcome everyone.
00:00:15.039 --> 00:00:18.559
It's time to clock in for another swing shift.
00:00:18.640 --> 00:00:22.879
I'm your host, Rob, alongside my brother and co-host RJ.
00:00:23.120 --> 00:00:24.079
What's going on, man?
00:00:24.320 --> 00:00:24.960
Whoopah.
00:00:25.199 --> 00:00:26.320
I just punched in.
00:00:27.440 --> 00:00:28.239
Not a whole lot.
00:00:28.320 --> 00:00:29.440
How are you doing, buddy?
00:00:30.960 --> 00:00:31.600
Good, man.
00:00:31.679 --> 00:00:35.119
I've had a uh quite the week.
00:00:35.200 --> 00:00:36.799
Um, that's interesting.
00:00:36.880 --> 00:00:39.280
Um we can talk about me, though.
00:00:39.600 --> 00:00:40.320
Just kidding.
00:00:40.560 --> 00:00:41.039
What's up?
00:00:41.280 --> 00:00:44.320
Yeah, we did that on the last episode, so you can you can sit back.
00:00:44.399 --> 00:00:45.119
Okay, pal.
00:00:46.079 --> 00:00:52.560
I've actually got some interesting stories and even a more interesting update for you.
00:00:52.880 --> 00:00:54.159
Okay, great.
00:00:56.159 --> 00:00:56.719
All right.
00:00:56.880 --> 00:01:12.560
So if you recall back a couple episodes, we had a discussion about my issue with a friend that I made through Pokemon where I felt like uh I might may have been taken advantage of and decided to cut him off, right?
00:01:14.000 --> 00:01:27.040
So Saturday, this last Saturday, um, I got a random knock at my front door at like 10 o'clock in the morning.
00:01:27.599 --> 00:01:28.879
And it was that dude.
00:01:29.040 --> 00:01:29.519
Whoa.
00:01:30.959 --> 00:01:31.280
Yeah.
00:01:31.680 --> 00:01:32.640
That's fucking weird.
00:01:33.040 --> 00:01:34.480
Like, what the Yeah.
00:01:34.640 --> 00:01:35.920
I was like, what the fuck?
00:01:36.079 --> 00:01:37.359
He's never been to my house.
00:01:37.519 --> 00:01:37.840
Oh.
00:01:38.159 --> 00:01:41.840
Um, he knew about where I live, but not like exactly.
00:01:42.079 --> 00:01:45.200
And I opened the door, I'm like, how the fuck do you know where I live?
00:01:45.359 --> 00:01:50.000
He's like, Oh, you'd sent a screenshot a while ago and it had your address on it.
00:01:50.079 --> 00:01:52.480
I'm like, that's fucking creepy, dude.
00:01:52.640 --> 00:01:52.799
Yeah.
00:01:53.040 --> 00:01:54.239
He's like, Well, are you okay?
00:01:54.319 --> 00:01:55.280
Like, what's going on?
00:01:55.519 --> 00:01:56.799
I'm like, why don't you take a seat?
00:01:56.879 --> 00:01:58.799
Let's let's let's have a chat.
00:02:00.079 --> 00:02:03.359
So she'd take a seat like a like a dad.
00:02:03.519 --> 00:02:04.400
Here, kiddo.
00:02:04.959 --> 00:02:06.000
Here's a lifesaver.
00:02:07.280 --> 00:02:09.360
Pull up a chair and shut the fuck up.
00:02:10.000 --> 00:02:15.599
So um, I laid it out for him, you know, just kind of like exactly how I laid it out for you.
00:02:16.000 --> 00:02:19.120
And he was like, dude, he's like, oh my god.
00:02:19.199 --> 00:02:20.800
He's like, I feel so awful.
00:02:20.960 --> 00:02:22.879
He's like, this is what happened.
00:02:23.039 --> 00:02:35.120
And he's like, so we got the cards from you, and then it motivated us to want to try to complete our master set, and we they had like four cards left to get after I gave them what I gave them.
00:02:35.520 --> 00:02:48.639
And so I guess he had a bunch of sealed product that they opened up, and it was like like an excess of like 50 packs the very next day, and they opened them all and they pulled the same card again.
00:02:48.879 --> 00:02:53.039
And I was like, that's really fucking coincidental that that happened.
00:02:53.120 --> 00:02:56.240
I'm like, what's more coincidental is the fact that you didn't bother to tell me.
00:02:56.319 --> 00:03:04.319
He's like, Well, we because they they post their their stuff online, so they'll record themselves opening the packs and they post it up online.
00:03:04.639 --> 00:03:08.560
And he's like, Well, I was hoping that you would see the video and be like, Oh my god, I can't believe that happened.
00:03:08.800 --> 00:03:11.120
And you're like, Well, I'm not a stalker like you.
00:03:11.599 --> 00:03:12.879
So yeah.
00:03:13.039 --> 00:03:20.560
I was like, Well, I kind of fucking unfollowed you and blocked you on almost every platform I could think of, and you still came knocking on my door.
00:03:20.639 --> 00:03:26.159
So anyway, you're like, I went back and blocked you on MySpace just in case you have that.
00:03:28.479 --> 00:03:30.639
I pre-blocked you on Chat GPT.
00:03:34.719 --> 00:03:38.080
So I uh we we hashed it out.
00:03:38.319 --> 00:03:48.479
I got my I just the the feeling I got from the guy was like he genuinely like was not trying to screw me over and stuff.
00:03:48.719 --> 00:03:57.280
I was like, you know, you probably could have communicated a little bit better, but I think probably the same, not probably, definitely the same could be said of me too.
00:03:57.439 --> 00:04:01.439
Like I I should have reached out and been like, hey dude, like what's going on?
00:04:01.520 --> 00:04:06.000
This kind of kind of bullshit, but instead I just kinda ghosted him.
00:04:06.479 --> 00:04:11.840
And uh, so we talked it out, we made amends, and uh everything's good.
00:04:12.240 --> 00:04:16.879
That's wild, like totally unexpected.
00:04:18.240 --> 00:04:18.879
I know.
00:04:19.120 --> 00:04:22.560
I was like, Ryan's never gonna freaking believe this crap.
00:04:22.639 --> 00:04:23.920
This is wild.
00:04:24.399 --> 00:04:28.160
So um I have to say it's that's really it's really cool.
00:04:28.399 --> 00:04:32.959
Um the the I'm gonna I'm gonna call it light stalkering.
00:04:33.199 --> 00:04:34.959
The light stalking aside.
00:04:35.199 --> 00:04:38.959
Um, I mean like there's two ways to look at that.
00:04:39.040 --> 00:04:43.600
One is like that's a little creepy, the other is like he cared, you know, enough.
00:04:43.839 --> 00:04:45.279
Genuinely cares, yeah.
00:04:45.519 --> 00:04:47.839
Um but no, that's really that's really cool.
00:04:47.920 --> 00:04:49.439
And also, let me just check my notes here.
00:04:49.519 --> 00:04:51.680
Yeah, uh, so are we saying I was right?
00:04:51.839 --> 00:05:00.480
Um, you don't know what have people have going on in their lives, and maybe, maybe yeah, lesson learned, lesson learned.
00:05:00.560 --> 00:05:08.240
It's you know, I need to be more uh more communicative and and more curious, I guess is the way to put it.
00:05:08.399 --> 00:05:11.680
Just like, hey, um what's going on here, you know?
00:05:12.000 --> 00:05:14.639
As opposed to just jumping straight to conclusions.
00:05:14.879 --> 00:05:15.920
Yeah, I mean, maybe.
00:05:16.079 --> 00:05:22.480
I think like we we we got pretty deep into this on that other episode, so we don't need to rehash it.
00:05:22.560 --> 00:05:27.600
But like uh yeah, I mean it's always it's it's always complicated.
00:05:27.839 --> 00:05:31.279
This is one this is a genuinely surprising result.
00:05:31.839 --> 00:05:34.480
Like uh that just doesn't happen that much.
00:05:34.639 --> 00:05:36.480
Um I do have No it doesn't.
00:05:36.639 --> 00:05:45.279
Yeah, I have a question though about because your uh your thing your thing with them was kind of twofold.
00:05:45.600 --> 00:05:50.399
One like well that card, that one card thing was kind of the the straw that broke the camel.
00:05:50.720 --> 00:05:53.279
But there was like also a pattern to address as well.
00:05:53.759 --> 00:05:54.399
Yeah.
00:05:55.279 --> 00:05:56.399
Um a little bit.
00:05:56.560 --> 00:05:57.360
Yeah, I did.
00:05:57.519 --> 00:06:21.040
I did address that, but I also like I think I think I found like a good balance with how I handle things with him going forward, which is basically just kind of keep things even keel, you know, keep things at a a relative distance and not um not overextend myself with generosity, like just try to keep things as yeah, on an even playing field.
00:06:21.279 --> 00:06:22.079
Yeah, yeah.
00:06:22.319 --> 00:06:24.160
So um okay.
00:06:24.399 --> 00:06:46.079
I was well, I was gonna ask if uh you felt like he was genuine, but it's kind of not even a question because he really didn't have I mean any yeah, if if if his if his motives were to to really try to screw me over or you know, whatever, he wouldn't have ever shown up at our door.
00:06:46.319 --> 00:06:49.920
And then when I did answer the door, he was fucking trembling, dude.
00:06:50.000 --> 00:06:52.639
He was genuinely like upset and like worried.
00:06:53.040 --> 00:06:56.399
That's so that's oh that's kind of sweet.
00:06:56.560 --> 00:07:04.399
Um yeah, I was gonna say like he doesn't have any he really didn't have anything to gain by uh you know working you at this point.
00:07:04.560 --> 00:07:09.439
Uh and so yeah, that uh I don't I don't know.
00:07:09.519 --> 00:07:13.519
This is that's a really cool kind of touching story.
00:07:13.680 --> 00:07:16.959
Like uh well, good for you and good for him.
00:07:17.120 --> 00:07:24.639
Um I'm glad you guys you know slapped dicks or whatever and made up uh whatever you guys do.
00:07:25.199 --> 00:07:27.920
Not every and not every apology works that way, bro.
00:07:28.319 --> 00:07:28.560
Sorry.
00:07:28.800 --> 00:07:29.120
Oh.
00:07:29.519 --> 00:07:29.839
Okay.
00:07:30.079 --> 00:07:32.800
Well, I've had different experiences in my life, I guess.
00:07:34.560 --> 00:07:35.680
I know, I know.
00:07:36.480 --> 00:07:45.680
Uh so um another another fun little cute story, I think, just because with how much you understand and love Robbie.
00:07:46.480 --> 00:07:55.600
So we also recently made the decision to start making videos of us opening Pokemon packs, uh, the three of us, right?
00:07:55.920 --> 00:07:59.360
I well, I saw I saw that that was the case.
00:07:59.680 --> 00:08:02.800
I was gonna say I saw it, but I couldn't watch it because it was on TikTok.
00:08:03.120 --> 00:08:04.560
It's on YouTube as well.
00:08:04.800 --> 00:08:06.959
Oh, well, the only thing okay, that's good to know.
00:08:07.040 --> 00:08:08.720
Uh Jamie posted the TikTok link.
00:08:08.800 --> 00:08:10.800
I'll I'll send you the YouTube link so you can check him out.
00:08:11.040 --> 00:08:11.199
Cool.
00:08:11.439 --> 00:08:15.759
And maybe we could post those also to the to the sp to the page.
00:08:16.000 --> 00:08:19.040
Uh which uh awkward.
00:08:19.199 --> 00:08:22.560
Um roles and responsibilities.
00:08:22.720 --> 00:08:24.959
I'm looking at the swing shift handbook here.
00:08:25.199 --> 00:08:29.920
Mark, Mark, I need you to Mark Yeah.
00:08:30.079 --> 00:08:40.879
Um to clarify, to clarify, um, I meant like in the in the description of the podcast uh episode, not like socials.
00:08:41.200 --> 00:08:43.600
We'll we'll we'll figure out socials down the road here.
00:08:44.320 --> 00:08:44.799
Yeah.
00:08:44.960 --> 00:08:51.840
Um just you know, sort of since you're in the biz now, uh it's it's show notes.
00:08:52.000 --> 00:08:53.440
It's show notes, it's not a description.
00:08:53.759 --> 00:08:54.559
Show notes, sorry.
00:08:54.639 --> 00:08:56.240
All right, thank you, thank you for the clarification.
00:08:56.399 --> 00:08:58.559
So anyway, all right, back to the story.
00:08:58.879 --> 00:09:19.519
Um so we we I got the boys on board with it, and um one of the things that I had asked Robbie, because he had put together a couple, you know, YouTube accounts and posted some videos and stuff that he edited himself, and we all kind of noticed he had a pretty good knack for editing.
00:09:19.840 --> 00:09:24.080
So I was like, hey man, it'd be really cool if you could edit the videos for us.
00:09:24.240 --> 00:09:26.720
Um just because it would take a lot off my plate.
00:09:26.799 --> 00:09:27.840
I don't really know what I'm doing.
00:09:27.919 --> 00:09:36.879
You seem to kind of have a knack for it, and you know, you I'll give you kind of carte blanche to do it however you you want, make it your style.
00:09:37.120 --> 00:09:49.039
Um, obviously, I have I have to review it and approve it because it's got to be appropriate and kind of on brand for kind of the you know, the style and messaging that I want to convey.
00:09:49.279 --> 00:09:54.240
But overall, like I want you to take this as an opportunity to try something out.
00:09:54.480 --> 00:09:55.519
He's like, okay.
00:09:55.840 --> 00:10:05.519
So as you know, not the audience, but you do, um, they were in Cottonwood for a good portion of last week while Jamie was recovering from a procedure.
00:10:06.399 --> 00:10:21.759
And um so the plan was I was gonna accumulate some some cards and stuff that I could um have set aside and ready to open as soon as they got back so we could record multiple episodes, right?
00:10:22.320 --> 00:10:28.879
So as soon as they get home, uh well actually, no, let me back up just a tad.
00:10:28.960 --> 00:10:44.480
I pick them up, meet them, meet mom and anthem, pick them up, and I go, hey guys, like you know, it's I don't know how you're feeling if it's been a long day, or you know, if you feel like you have the energy for it, but um, I was thinking when we get home, I've got plenty of cards ready to open.
00:10:44.639 --> 00:10:47.279
Uh, would you guys like to record our first episode?
00:10:47.519 --> 00:10:49.919
And they're like, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that'd be great.
00:10:50.000 --> 00:10:58.720
And then Robbie's like, well, um, I might I I might have to um might have to wait a little bit after we get home, but yeah, I'd be happy to do that.
00:10:58.799 --> 00:11:00.960
I'm like, what do you mean you'd have to wait a little bit?
00:11:01.120 --> 00:11:02.399
He's like, Well, I have a meeting.
00:11:03.679 --> 00:11:07.039
I was like, what kind of what kind of fucking 13-year-old has a fucking meeting?
00:11:07.279 --> 00:11:07.679
Robbie.
00:11:07.840 --> 00:11:08.639
He's like, uh.
00:11:10.720 --> 00:11:22.399
So he's like, um, yeah, I um I g I I I have a meeting that I'm supposed to uh hop on uh Discord with uh with my buddy and some other some other kids.
00:11:22.639 --> 00:11:26.080
I'm like, what can you can you elaborate?
00:11:26.240 --> 00:11:33.360
He's like um well we he my friend he runs a pizza shop and I I help him with it sometimes.
00:11:33.519 --> 00:11:44.799
I'm like what um I was like doesn't have a 401k what kind of benefits are they offering?
00:11:45.440 --> 00:11:47.519
So I was like I was like, wait, hold on.
00:11:47.759 --> 00:11:52.960
Um is this a real pizza shop or is this like a pizza shop in one of your video games?
00:11:53.120 --> 00:11:54.879
He's like, oh it's it it's a video game.
00:11:54.960 --> 00:11:56.480
I'm like, oh okay.
00:11:56.720 --> 00:11:59.519
I'm like, do you so like wait, hold on.
00:11:59.679 --> 00:12:06.480
So you your buddy, your this friend of yours opened this pizza shop in this like virtual reality game, right?
00:12:06.720 --> 00:12:07.360
He's like, yeah.
00:12:07.519 --> 00:12:15.600
And I'm like, and you punch in to help him make pizzas in this virtual reality game.
00:12:15.759 --> 00:12:16.399
He's like, yeah.
00:12:16.480 --> 00:12:18.960
I'm like, do you get paid for this?
00:12:19.039 --> 00:12:19.679
He's like, no.
00:12:19.840 --> 00:12:21.600
I'm like, okay.
00:12:22.159 --> 00:12:25.600
So does the pizza store get paid for the pizza?
00:12:26.000 --> 00:12:26.320
Yeah.
00:12:26.720 --> 00:12:28.080
Like, does yeah, does he make money?
00:12:28.159 --> 00:12:28.879
He's like, I don't know.
00:12:29.360 --> 00:12:30.000
Of course you don't.
00:12:30.159 --> 00:12:31.519
Of course you wouldn't ask those questions.
00:12:31.679 --> 00:12:37.279
So then I'm like, okay, um, how often are you are you making pizza?
00:12:37.519 --> 00:12:38.960
Like, oh, just you know, when he needs help.
00:12:39.039 --> 00:12:41.039
I'm like, okay, that's very informative.
00:12:41.360 --> 00:12:41.519
What?
00:12:41.679 --> 00:12:43.679
And I was like, so what's the fucking point of this meeting?
00:12:43.840 --> 00:12:50.799
He's like, well, um, I I think I think you know, we're we he we need to kind of figure out like when people can take shifts and all this shit.
00:12:50.879 --> 00:12:52.559
I'm like, you gotta be shitting me.
00:12:52.799 --> 00:12:55.519
Yeah, this is the wildest fucking thing in the world, right?
00:12:55.840 --> 00:13:00.960
Like he's making digital fucking pizzas and he's taking that more seriously than anything in reality.
00:13:01.360 --> 00:13:05.120
But anyway, cut to.
00:13:05.840 --> 00:13:09.360
So we run our first video because his meeting got canceled, by the way.
00:13:09.440 --> 00:13:12.480
So you know, dodge that bullet.
00:13:12.720 --> 00:13:19.279
Anyway, record our first video, and then I take the the media files and I send them to him.
00:13:19.440 --> 00:13:21.519
I said, okay, you know, do your thing with them.
00:13:22.000 --> 00:13:28.879
And I figured, you know, Sunday he wouldn't get he wouldn't do anything, or Saturday he wouldn't do anything, Sunday he wouldn't do anything.
00:13:29.039 --> 00:13:33.840
And then, you know, Monday rolls around like, hey man, like I'd really like to get this thing out in the next day or so.
00:13:34.000 --> 00:13:35.279
Like, can you can he get on it?
00:13:35.440 --> 00:13:39.200
He's like, uh I I just I don't have time.
00:13:39.360 --> 00:13:40.799
I really don't have the time to use.
00:13:41.440 --> 00:13:55.679
I was like, you don't have time because you're too busy making digital fucking pizzas while your dad's working a real fucking job, raising a real fucking family, and also you know, trying to put together all these other fucking things going on in real life.
00:13:55.840 --> 00:13:57.919
He's like, I'm sorry, I just I can't I can't do it.
00:13:58.000 --> 00:13:59.919
I'm like, okay, wow, thanks a lot, bro.
00:14:02.720 --> 00:14:03.759
I have a question.
00:14:03.919 --> 00:14:04.799
Uh yeah.
00:14:05.039 --> 00:14:07.200
What's the name of the pizza shop?
00:14:07.919 --> 00:14:10.480
I I didn't fucking bother to ask.
00:14:10.559 --> 00:14:13.440
I was so just I don't know.
00:14:13.840 --> 00:14:18.320
It's like it's like confusing and embarrassing all at the same time.
00:14:19.039 --> 00:14:21.679
I don't want to know anymore that it's it's something.
00:14:21.840 --> 00:14:27.519
Like I that's I mean it's it's cute though.
00:14:27.600 --> 00:14:28.320
Well it's really cute.
00:14:28.399 --> 00:14:31.200
It's fun, it's cute, it's also potentially, and I'm almost proud.
00:14:31.440 --> 00:14:33.840
Yeah, well, I was gonna say it's almost potentially like a good thing.
00:14:33.919 --> 00:14:42.960
I mean, if they're I mean if they're taking it seriously and like actually managing a business, so to speak.
00:14:43.120 --> 00:14:47.759
I mean, at that age, that's I mean, that's that's that could be great.
00:14:47.919 --> 00:14:52.879
Um Yeah, teach them some work ethic and like ownership into something, but here's the problem.
00:14:55.279 --> 00:14:55.759
Yeah, yeah.
00:14:55.840 --> 00:15:00.320
It's like a sim, it sounds like a Sims kind of like a headset virtual reality thing.
00:15:00.559 --> 00:15:01.120
Yeah, yeah.
00:15:01.360 --> 00:15:03.759
So he puts on his headset and makes pizzas.
00:15:04.159 --> 00:15:05.519
Man, goes into his other life.
00:15:05.840 --> 00:15:09.759
Doesn't he have to like the hand gestures?
00:15:09.840 --> 00:15:10.480
I don't know how it works.
00:15:10.559 --> 00:15:11.519
He's like flipping down.
00:15:11.840 --> 00:15:12.240
I don't know.
00:15:12.399 --> 00:15:16.000
You're asking you're asking more questions than I know, I know answers to, okay.
00:15:16.159 --> 00:15:28.720
But here here's the other thing is it sounds like there's some trouble on Pizza Street because apparently this friend of his that started the pizza shop has now uh is now seeking other ventures.
00:15:28.799 --> 00:15:35.840
And I can't remember what it was, but it I would assume that they're starting their own little uh virtual government, and he's probably running for office.
00:15:36.000 --> 00:15:37.120
So naturally.
00:15:37.279 --> 00:15:44.080
Um as one does um once they've conquered the the digital pizza world.
00:15:44.639 --> 00:15:44.879
Yeah.
00:15:45.120 --> 00:15:52.960
As a digital uh small business owner, you obviously have uh so ahead.
00:15:53.360 --> 00:15:54.960
Uh so what's the problem?
00:15:55.120 --> 00:16:03.039
Like he wants to like well, first of all, how many um fake pizza employees does he have at his fake pizza shop?
00:16:03.600 --> 00:16:05.519
Apparently double digits.
00:16:05.759 --> 00:16:06.080
What?
00:16:06.240 --> 00:16:07.360
Yeah, yeah.
00:16:07.600 --> 00:16:08.159
I don't know.
00:16:08.240 --> 00:16:17.360
This kid's like the next freaking uh what's he who's it, serial killer dude from California that got all those chicks to go murder people and steal shit.
00:16:17.519 --> 00:16:18.960
Yeah what was that guy's name?
00:16:19.039 --> 00:16:19.919
I always forget his name.
00:16:20.320 --> 00:16:20.799
Manson?
00:16:21.120 --> 00:16:21.679
Oh, sure.
00:16:21.759 --> 00:16:22.080
I don't know.
00:16:22.240 --> 00:16:22.799
Hanson?
00:16:22.960 --> 00:16:23.120
No.
00:16:23.279 --> 00:16:24.960
Like Manson.
00:16:25.279 --> 00:16:27.360
Oh Charles Manson.
00:16:27.519 --> 00:16:29.200
Yeah, Charles Manson, not Hanson.
00:16:29.440 --> 00:16:35.200
Um the Bob So stab.
00:16:35.679 --> 00:16:47.120
So what's the stab stab?
00:16:47.360 --> 00:16:48.159
Oh my gosh.
00:16:53.759 --> 00:16:57.519
Oh, this might actually be a gift to me because like I let me tell you something.
00:16:57.679 --> 00:17:05.039
Like, uh, I sometimes I really hate my brain and like so I had a song stuck in my head like all day today, right?
00:17:05.119 --> 00:17:10.079
And I I know it is annoying for everybody, but it's like really aggravating for me because it distracts me, right?
00:17:10.160 --> 00:17:11.680
And it's always like, my head.
00:17:11.759 --> 00:17:15.359
And like all day I'm like, go away, go, get out of my head.
00:17:15.599 --> 00:17:18.559
And like it's just driving- just replaced it with another song.
00:17:18.720 --> 00:17:21.680
No, it's even well, hopefully you did, because here's the problem.
00:17:21.920 --> 00:17:24.240
Like, uh, it just drives me crazy.
00:17:24.400 --> 00:17:31.920
And then uh, like about three hours ago or so, it was it went away and it was gone.
00:17:32.079 --> 00:17:36.880
And when I realized it's gone, I was like, oh, thank God, that song's not stuck in my head.
00:17:36.960 --> 00:17:38.400
And then I'm like, what was that song again?
00:17:38.640 --> 00:17:39.039
What was that?
00:17:41.119 --> 00:17:41.920
No, it didn't come back.
00:17:42.240 --> 00:17:44.000
Then I'm like, oh, what's that song?
00:17:44.160 --> 00:17:50.400
So instead of the song being stuck in my head, now in the last three hours, like, ah, that song is stuck in my head.
00:17:50.880 --> 00:17:52.640
Like, I hate myself.
00:17:52.799 --> 00:17:55.599
Uh really you need to keep yourself.
00:17:57.359 --> 00:18:02.640
Have you ever have you ever heard the trick of apparently getting rid of a song that's stuck in your head?
00:18:02.960 --> 00:18:06.480
Um, I what I've heard about it is you need to listen to it.
00:18:06.880 --> 00:18:12.960
No, you you you recollect on the song from start to finish.
00:18:13.119 --> 00:18:18.319
And if you finish or if you're able to finish your song the song in your head, it'll it'll go away.
00:18:18.640 --> 00:18:18.960
Oh.
00:18:19.200 --> 00:18:19.759
Hmm.
00:18:20.000 --> 00:18:20.799
Interesting.
00:18:21.119 --> 00:18:21.440
Okay.
00:18:21.920 --> 00:18:28.799
I I don't actually know the lyrics to it, but maybe I should learn them so I that when I remember what the song is, I can give it out of my head.
00:18:29.039 --> 00:18:30.960
That's my that's my fucking problem too.
00:18:31.039 --> 00:18:39.920
I don't I can't Jamie's got this really crazy talent where she can listen to a song two, maybe three times, and she'll know most of the lyrics.
00:18:40.319 --> 00:18:45.599
I could listen to a song for five fucking years and I'll still know maybe 70%.
00:18:46.400 --> 00:18:47.200
Yeah, yeah.
00:18:47.440 --> 00:18:49.359
I uh I'm kind of the same way.
00:18:49.440 --> 00:18:58.480
Um I don't have a difficulty remembering the lyrics, but what I found is I just tend not to well, yeah, I just tend not to really notice, pay much mind to them.
00:18:58.720 --> 00:19:09.440
Like if there's a song that I like, of course I'll like probably know the chorus, but um I am usually about you know the vocals and the beat and all the kind of like the whole composition.
00:19:09.599 --> 00:19:11.359
Um Crescendo.
00:19:11.519 --> 00:19:12.079
Yeah.
00:19:12.319 --> 00:19:19.759
And uh and then sometimes I'll but if I do, you know, at some point I'm like, I'm gonna listen to the lyrics, then I usually remember them, kind of.
00:19:19.839 --> 00:19:20.480
I don't know.
00:19:20.960 --> 00:19:29.359
But anyway, uh so back to trouble brewing on uh on Pizza Street.
00:19:29.759 --> 00:19:36.640
So the guy is launching his campaign for digital senator I guess.
00:19:37.440 --> 00:19:41.920
Uh so what what's the problem at the Y O pizza shop?
00:19:42.319 --> 00:19:44.400
I guess it's it's up in the air.
00:19:44.480 --> 00:19:48.720
Yeah Robbie may be un digitally unemployed here soon.
00:19:52.000 --> 00:19:55.519
So he might be collecting exactly where he is now.
00:19:56.160 --> 00:20:03.599
Yeah, he might he might be collecting um uh digital welfare unemployment.
00:20:04.240 --> 00:20:06.160
Uh yeah, well, okay.
00:20:06.319 --> 00:20:21.279
I mean yeah, I could I I could see how that's the case, but also like if you have uh if you have a fake pizza empire or you have you know you said double digits, I mean you got 20 some odd people, let's just say like if the guy itself.
00:20:21.839 --> 00:20:26.000
Well uh yeah, but also like what what's the concern?
00:20:26.079 --> 00:20:32.960
Like if the guy wants to go be fake president, like doesn't somebody else just want to run the shop or something?
00:20:33.519 --> 00:20:34.720
I I don't know, man.
00:20:34.880 --> 00:20:35.359
I don't know.
00:20:35.440 --> 00:20:43.119
I think that that's the problem is that Robbie doesn't necessarily know how to grab life by the digital balls and just kind of ask those questions.
00:20:43.519 --> 00:20:48.960
See, this is a good teaching moment is you know, you know, kiddo, here have a lifesaver.
00:20:49.039 --> 00:20:57.680
And let me tell you, um it sometimes these things come up and then it's it's not worth being stressed about.
00:20:59.440 --> 00:21:03.519
The thing that stresses you out, kiddo, is the unknown.
00:21:05.279 --> 00:21:05.920
That was really good.
00:21:06.160 --> 00:21:06.480
Thank you.
00:21:06.799 --> 00:21:13.519
I had the conversation I had with him was more about honestly, it's probably for the best.
00:21:14.079 --> 00:21:24.640
Um that it's a dead end job, and frankly, you know, maybe this is an opportunity for him to focus on going to virtual trade school.
00:21:25.440 --> 00:21:27.759
I don't know how you can say it's a dead-end job.
00:21:27.920 --> 00:21:32.400
This other guy did it, and now he's he's basically vice president.
00:21:34.079 --> 00:21:35.359
Yeah, that's fair.
00:21:35.519 --> 00:21:40.799
I mean, would you rather be the guy making the pizzas or the guy that's fixing the pizza oven?
00:21:40.960 --> 00:21:44.720
I mean, I would there's a lot of pizza ovens that need fixing, yeah.
00:21:45.920 --> 00:21:49.359
Um Well, okay, another question.
00:21:49.599 --> 00:21:53.440
Uh I'm it's really fascinating, this whole business.
00:21:53.599 --> 00:21:58.799
Um I the more you you fucking are asking questions, the more I'm becoming fascinated.
00:21:59.279 --> 00:22:04.720
Well, I mean you Yeah, and that's why I said earlier it may be a a good thing, like a s a good experience thing.
00:22:04.880 --> 00:22:06.960
It just depends on like how how it works.
00:22:07.119 --> 00:22:21.119
Now I'm really curious because if it's just a thing where it's like uh Yeah, I have uh I have N pizza shop, and so if you want to work for me, then you come in and quote make pizzas, which means you sit there and push a button over and over.
00:22:21.519 --> 00:22:33.039
Or is it like, you know, you've got front of the house, back of the house, you've got dishwasher, you've got uh, you know, office manager, you know, like are they ordering supplies?
00:22:33.200 --> 00:22:36.240
Are they doing, you know, like all this stuff?
00:22:36.559 --> 00:22:43.519
Often it's just Robbie happens to be one of the no, it's like how, yeah, how uh how expansive is it?
00:22:43.680 --> 00:22:48.880
And it's like they all just come you know come in and make pizzas, or just like that's what Robbie's doing.
00:22:49.279 --> 00:22:50.319
He's working his way up.
00:22:50.640 --> 00:22:59.920
Maybe maybe what we should do is tight table this conversation and we can ask him these questions um at a later time.
00:23:00.160 --> 00:23:00.799
Yeah.
00:23:03.279 --> 00:23:08.079
My thoughts on that is really gonna eat away at me because I'm really curious, but yeah, that's probably for the best.
00:23:08.400 --> 00:23:11.599
Or I can bring him in here right now and we can pick his brand.
00:23:12.799 --> 00:23:14.640
Uh we can try it, yeah.
00:23:14.880 --> 00:23:16.960
Oh god, okay, by the way.
00:23:17.440 --> 00:23:22.000
Yeah, did you see the trailer for the new um Looney Tunes movie?
00:23:22.960 --> 00:23:23.279
No.
00:23:23.839 --> 00:23:26.640
Yeah, it's called Coyote versus Acme.
00:23:27.119 --> 00:23:27.759
Oh my god.
00:23:28.079 --> 00:23:30.319
Oh, I think I saw like a snippet of it.
00:23:30.400 --> 00:23:30.720
Yeah.
00:23:31.359 --> 00:23:32.079
How does it look?
00:23:32.400 --> 00:23:34.000
It looks fucking awesome.
00:23:34.160 --> 00:23:36.000
Like, oh my god, it looks so good.
00:23:36.319 --> 00:23:39.519
Yeah, um, there's I didn't even really know it was out there.
00:23:39.599 --> 00:23:46.319
I just saw uh there's they just released a clip today, like a uh like a one-minute clip from a scene.
00:23:46.480 --> 00:23:48.880
But I guess there's been trailers out and stuff.
00:23:49.039 --> 00:23:58.240
And you know the idea where you bring in Robbie and it made me think of uh one of the trailers because like it this should just sell it for you at the end of one of the trailers.
00:23:58.400 --> 00:24:01.200
It's uh oh god, what's his name?
00:24:01.519 --> 00:24:02.400
John Cena.
00:24:02.480 --> 00:24:06.000
Is he the big one but the f but who's funny, not like the other one?
00:24:06.880 --> 00:24:07.279
Yeah.
00:24:07.599 --> 00:24:08.640
Who's the other one?
00:24:08.960 --> 00:24:10.720
Uh oh, the rock.
00:24:10.880 --> 00:24:11.599
Which one is good?
00:24:11.839 --> 00:24:12.720
He's pretty funny.
00:24:12.880 --> 00:24:13.200
Okay.
00:24:13.519 --> 00:24:16.079
Which one is am I thinking of?
00:24:16.559 --> 00:24:19.759
Well, one of them's Polynesian, the other one's pretty much white.
00:24:20.000 --> 00:24:20.960
The white one.
00:24:21.519 --> 00:24:22.720
Yeah, John Cena.
00:24:22.799 --> 00:24:22.960
Okay.
00:24:23.039 --> 00:24:24.880
I I'm shocked you could even see him.
00:24:25.119 --> 00:24:26.799
Only wrestling fans would get that joke.
00:24:27.039 --> 00:24:27.200
Okay.
00:24:27.759 --> 00:24:28.559
Uh, I believe it.
00:24:28.640 --> 00:24:30.319
But now they're like at the end of one of the trailers.
00:24:30.400 --> 00:24:35.759
You gotta watch at the end of one of the trailers, it's John Cena interrogating Tweety Bird.
00:24:36.319 --> 00:24:37.359
Oh my god.
00:24:37.519 --> 00:24:38.480
Okay, I'm in.
00:24:38.720 --> 00:24:39.200
I know.
00:24:39.440 --> 00:24:40.079
So in.
00:24:41.519 --> 00:24:42.000
Sold.
00:24:42.559 --> 00:24:45.519
Oh, have you seen speaking of movies?
00:24:45.680 --> 00:24:48.240
Have you seen um Project Hail Mary?
00:24:48.559 --> 00:24:50.079
Fucking yes.
00:24:50.319 --> 00:24:50.880
Whoa.
00:24:51.039 --> 00:24:52.240
Isn't that great?
00:24:52.480 --> 00:24:52.799
Yeah.
00:24:52.960 --> 00:24:54.559
Did you read the book?
00:24:55.200 --> 00:24:56.720
No, I don't read anything.
00:24:56.799 --> 00:25:00.400
I don't even read instructions on freaking hamburger helper, dude.
00:25:00.720 --> 00:25:04.079
According to my notes, you're in the middle of an anger management book.
00:25:04.240 --> 00:25:05.920
So oh yeah, that's right.
00:25:06.160 --> 00:25:07.440
Fuck, you got me on that one.
00:25:07.680 --> 00:25:08.720
No, I've completed it.
00:25:08.799 --> 00:25:09.680
That's the last thing I read.
00:25:09.839 --> 00:25:10.160
Oh, okay.
00:25:10.319 --> 00:25:12.319
Anyway, jokes aside, right?
00:25:12.559 --> 00:25:13.920
I didn't know it was even a book.
00:25:14.160 --> 00:25:14.880
Well, yeah.
00:25:15.599 --> 00:25:20.480
And by all accounts, most accounts, a phenomenal book, by the way.
00:25:20.720 --> 00:25:26.640
Um, and I don't know if you know this, but um, did you see The Martian?
00:25:27.440 --> 00:25:28.480
Yes, love that.
00:25:28.720 --> 00:25:32.079
Okay, so The Martian was based on a book as well.
00:25:32.240 --> 00:25:40.640
The book was written by Andy Weir, and um Project Hail Mary was uh also a book written by Andy Weir.
00:25:41.359 --> 00:25:42.079
Interesting.
00:25:42.160 --> 00:25:42.319
Yeah.
00:25:42.559 --> 00:25:46.720
So the guy's into space, uh really into space.
00:25:47.759 --> 00:26:00.079
Theoretical space uh situations like yeah, so so my my understanding of like what the movie was about was completely misled.
00:26:00.240 --> 00:26:02.480
And I I was misled.
00:26:02.720 --> 00:26:13.039
Um so a lot of people were trying to compare it to like interstellar, and I'm like, okay, this is gonna be you know pretty like deep, um, really like somber drama, right?
00:26:13.200 --> 00:26:17.599
And then get like 10 minutes into it, I'm like, is this supposed to be funny?
00:26:18.079 --> 00:26:22.799
Or am I like unintentionally high, you know, or just you know, slap happy?
00:26:22.880 --> 00:26:39.440
And then it keeps going, I'm like, this is this is fucking funny, and then it gets into the the portion where he's in space and trying to underst observe this uh foreign star, and it's like, oh my god, this is like a cute like family movie.
00:26:40.240 --> 00:26:42.880
It's a very sweet, very sweet movie.
00:26:43.119 --> 00:26:44.160
It's adorable.
00:26:44.319 --> 00:26:44.799
Yeah, it is.
00:26:45.119 --> 00:26:45.759
I loved it.
00:26:46.000 --> 00:26:55.119
Uh I I mean I I had a really high expectation, and by the way, that you hear that noise?
00:26:55.839 --> 00:26:56.319
Yeah.
00:26:56.559 --> 00:27:00.960
Apparently there was a cat hiding out in here this whole time.
00:27:01.359 --> 00:27:05.680
Um flash, like, dude, okay.
00:27:05.839 --> 00:27:08.160
Just so far he's been somewhat good.
00:27:08.559 --> 00:27:13.200
Um yeah, no, Interstellar, like man.
00:27:15.039 --> 00:27:16.319
That was a rough watch.
00:27:16.480 --> 00:27:20.400
I mean, I like the first whatever, two-thirds of it was good, right?
00:27:20.640 --> 00:27:23.200
But I just I don't like that movie.
00:27:23.359 --> 00:27:25.039
It just got too stupid for me.
00:27:25.279 --> 00:27:26.079
What is it like?
00:27:26.400 --> 00:27:26.960
Really?
00:27:27.200 --> 00:27:28.880
Yeah, you liked it?
00:27:29.440 --> 00:27:30.319
I loved it.
00:27:30.559 --> 00:27:30.960
Interesting.
00:27:31.599 --> 00:27:33.440
Like one of my top three favorite movies.
00:27:33.839 --> 00:27:34.160
Whoa.
00:27:34.720 --> 00:27:37.039
I would have never fucking guessed that.
00:27:37.680 --> 00:27:39.119
Okay, well let's talk about it.
00:27:39.279 --> 00:27:42.799
Why do you feel like it's why do you feel like it's so stupid towards the end?
00:27:43.440 --> 00:28:06.880
Well, I don't I don't much care in general for like the sort of in any movie or show, like the sort of I'm gonna call it supernatural, and I know that's not what it is here, but like that sort of ethereal, like, you know, other things at play, what at Invisible 4.
00:28:07.359 --> 00:28:13.759
That sort of like I don't like that I'm gonna say dream sequence also, not what this is.
00:28:14.000 --> 00:28:15.680
I hate dream sequences.
00:28:15.759 --> 00:28:19.759
I hate when I'm watching a movie and there's things happening, and then like the person wakes up.
00:28:19.839 --> 00:28:20.720
I fucking hate that.
00:28:20.880 --> 00:28:42.640
And that was sort of a side note tangent, but no, just the whole like he I'm trying to recall it, um, like he his daughter from the future told him to go, you know, just it was it's like it if for me, it's just like it's a little fucking out there.
00:28:44.400 --> 00:29:12.720
It is, but I guess the thing that you could appreciate, I that I guess that's why it's kind of surprising to me, is just I the the thing that you could appreciate is how well thought out it was as far as adhering to the most current and um uh accepted theories as far as like the space-time continuum and uh and like how space travel and time itself relates to one another.
00:29:13.200 --> 00:29:22.000
It because I mean it was very well done in that regard, especially with like theoretics around different, you know, uh gravitational poles and wavelengths and stuff.
00:29:22.240 --> 00:29:34.319
They also have you have you ever done like any like research into like the amount of time and energy that went in just to creating the black hole image that was in the movie?
00:29:34.720 --> 00:29:37.920
Um I yes and no.
00:29:38.000 --> 00:29:42.319
So I don't know like the stats with regard to how much uh input it took.
00:29:42.480 --> 00:29:55.599
I was gonna actually mention it though, because the one thing I do know, which I and to your point, I do have a lot of respect for all those aspects of it and the production quality of it and the visuals, like all very good.
00:29:55.759 --> 00:29:57.839
Um, but no, the black hole thing.
00:29:58.000 --> 00:30:08.799
What I do know about it is like before that movie, like we had never visually imaged a black hole, right?
00:30:09.119 --> 00:30:09.759
Correct.
00:30:10.000 --> 00:30:18.240
And so they basically they, I don't know who, both very smart people working on this film, they just MT, I believe.
00:30:18.400 --> 00:30:18.880
Oh, really?
00:30:19.039 --> 00:30:19.279
Okay.
00:30:19.920 --> 00:30:35.359
They just dumped a bunch of like all the data they could about black holes and the theories and stuff into some super compute fucking thing, and it's like, what's it, you know, just calculated what would it fucking look like and made that visual.
00:30:35.759 --> 00:30:47.119
And then since that movie, we have, I believe I'm right about this, we have visually like shot, spotted, image, an actual black hole, right?
00:30:47.200 --> 00:30:50.240
And it turns out that that's pretty much the right on the money.
00:30:50.880 --> 00:30:51.119
Yeah.
00:30:51.279 --> 00:30:53.440
See, that's incredibly mind-blowing.
00:30:54.000 --> 00:30:55.359
Yeah, that it is.
00:30:55.440 --> 00:30:57.200
And okay, so I just pulled it up.
00:30:57.440 --> 00:31:00.799
So um, how long did it take to create gargantua?
00:31:00.960 --> 00:31:06.079
The timeline isn't given as a single total number of days, but the sources make the scale clear.
00:31:06.319 --> 00:31:21.519
It was approximately a hundred hours per frame to render the black hole and twenty-four frames per second, meaning approximately 2,400 hours or a hundred days of computing for one second of finished footage.
00:31:23.359 --> 00:31:27.920
The full simulation generated over 800 terabytes of data.
00:31:28.160 --> 00:31:28.720
Yeah.
00:31:28.960 --> 00:31:30.240
That's that's incredible.
00:31:31.119 --> 00:31:32.640
You know what's even more nuts though?
00:31:32.720 --> 00:31:40.400
Is like you're you're just talking about the like the compute, the rendering.
00:31:41.200 --> 00:31:50.000
Like, this this is like these super smart people have done all the math and input all the data and made their assumptions, blah, blah.
00:31:50.240 --> 00:31:54.000
You're just talking about the part after they do all of that and then hit the button.
00:31:54.640 --> 00:31:55.839
Like, that's what's insane.
00:31:56.799 --> 00:32:08.799
Yeah, they were able to, they're so smart, and their our our math over centuries has been so sound, or whatever you want to call it, that they actually they fucking nailed it.
00:32:09.359 --> 00:32:21.039
Yeah, there's probably like uh I just envision, you know, some old uh like Einstein or whatever, you know, up in up in heaven or whatever, and be like, I fucking told you, Bob.
00:32:21.839 --> 00:32:23.759
You owe me 50 bucks, man.
00:32:25.839 --> 00:32:30.000
Well, in in in my defense, I'm a huge Christopher Nolan fan too.
00:32:30.079 --> 00:32:32.319
Like I love a lot of the movies that he put together.
00:32:32.400 --> 00:32:34.960
So Dark Knight is one of my top fives.
00:32:35.200 --> 00:32:46.480
Like, yeah, he's if if he put like I'm really trying to get to go see Odyssey right now because I've been looking forward to it for a long time, ever since the previews came out.
00:32:46.640 --> 00:32:53.519
The only one I'm not like that was I feel like a little overhyped, this may be this may be controversial.
00:32:53.680 --> 00:32:54.480
I don't know.
00:32:54.640 --> 00:32:57.920
But I wasn't a great big fan of Oppenheimer.
00:32:58.559 --> 00:33:00.319
I actually haven't watched it.
00:33:01.440 --> 00:33:04.799
It's good, but it's definitely not like oh man, that's so good.
00:33:05.519 --> 00:33:06.079
Yeah, yeah.
00:33:06.160 --> 00:33:10.640
I've um well, I was gonna say I've heard mixed reviews, but I really haven't.
00:33:10.720 --> 00:33:12.480
It's been pretty universally praised.
00:33:12.880 --> 00:33:19.279
But um the here's the thing about the Odyssey, dude, is like you you need to go see it.
00:33:19.359 --> 00:33:21.759
You need to see it while it's in uh IMAX.
00:33:22.079 --> 00:33:23.359
IMAX, yeah, I know.
00:33:23.599 --> 00:33:31.279
He shot it on 70 millimeter, like, and he's been telling people like go go fucking watch this movie the way it's meant to be seen.
00:33:32.640 --> 00:33:32.960
Okay.
00:33:34.240 --> 00:33:36.160
It's uh just crazy.
00:33:36.319 --> 00:33:43.440
Like, I I actually have not seen a trailer or anything about it because I frankly have no interest in the movie.
00:33:43.599 --> 00:34:02.480
I'll probably watch it at some point, but um, I know about it because excuse me, when uh when it came out and I mean as reviews started coming out, I was like, I think this may be the most universally acclaimed movie I've seen in my lifetime.
00:34:02.720 --> 00:34:07.440
Um it's got a 94% on on Rotten Tomatoes.
00:34:08.800 --> 00:34:13.119
It's got uh 97% on popcorn meter.
00:34:13.280 --> 00:34:19.679
I don't know what that means, but um uh let's see here.
00:34:19.760 --> 00:34:21.280
Okay, let me let me get with you.
00:34:21.519 --> 00:34:34.000
Okay, so the popcorn meter, I so the tomato meter is the the critics on Rotten Tomatoes itself, and then the popcorn meter is fan uh reviews.
00:34:34.320 --> 00:34:34.880
Okay, good.
00:34:35.039 --> 00:34:36.719
Okay, so they finally gave it a name.
00:34:36.800 --> 00:34:38.400
That makes sense because I thought, yeah.
00:34:38.719 --> 00:34:42.000
Um, I mean that's that's pretty fucking high.
00:34:42.239 --> 00:34:43.920
Uh 94, 97.
00:34:44.159 --> 00:34:50.159
But anyway, um the Flash.
00:34:50.480 --> 00:34:52.719
Hold on, I'll say I'll say what I said to Jamie earlier.
00:34:52.880 --> 00:34:54.880
You know we're doing a show right now, right, Flash?
00:34:55.199 --> 00:34:59.840
Um the uh goddamn.
00:34:59.920 --> 00:35:01.039
Oh, Interstellar.
00:35:01.199 --> 00:35:05.599
Yeah, um anyway, back to the original point, really, which is Project Hail Mary.
00:35:05.760 --> 00:35:12.079
Um yeah, like such a cute movie, sweet movie, great family movie.
00:35:12.320 --> 00:35:18.079
Um I some things I really loved about it specifically.
00:35:18.320 --> 00:35:26.880
Um I really like the font they use on like the um the control screens and stuff in the spaceship.
00:35:27.039 --> 00:35:28.239
I thought it was pretty good.
00:35:29.119 --> 00:35:30.960
We would say fucking something like that.
00:35:31.199 --> 00:35:34.000
I know, and it's the worst part is it's true.
00:35:34.159 --> 00:35:37.039
Um yeah, it is it is it is very pleasing.
00:35:37.280 --> 00:35:46.000
Yeah, but but no, for one one thing I really love I really love that uh that what's her face uh character.
00:35:46.320 --> 00:35:47.360
Good old what's her face.
00:35:47.679 --> 00:35:51.119
No, I mean there's like two characters besides Rocky in the whole movie.
00:35:51.280 --> 00:35:55.039
So it's that uh the the the late the German lady.
00:35:55.840 --> 00:35:58.079
Oh what else is she in?
00:35:58.320 --> 00:35:58.639
I don't know.
00:35:58.719 --> 00:36:00.559
I'm talking no, I'm talking about her character.
00:36:01.760 --> 00:36:02.559
Oh, you liked her character.
00:36:02.800 --> 00:36:04.239
I loved that character.
00:36:04.880 --> 00:36:05.519
Why?
00:36:05.920 --> 00:36:09.360
Um it was like uh interesting.
00:36:09.599 --> 00:36:10.400
Well, yeah.
00:36:10.639 --> 00:36:22.960
Uh so sh basically she's for anybody who hasn't seen the movie, she's uh she's a you know, German, I don't say middle-aged, she's probably like in her forties, you know, when the movie stars.
00:36:23.199 --> 00:36:43.280
And she's it's never really said, but it's uh pretty obvious that basically like the world has a world-ending problem, and she has been identified as the person, maybe not the smartest person in the world, but the person to get it done, and she's been empowered with infinite resources and authority to do so, right?
00:36:43.360 --> 00:36:44.239
What do you say that's fair?
00:36:44.480 --> 00:36:48.800
She Yeah, she she's she's the the project manager of that motherfucker.
00:36:49.119 --> 00:36:52.639
Yeah, she yeah, and yeah, the whole fucking thing.
00:36:52.800 --> 00:37:02.639
Um so what what I uh what I liked about her is um her I I guess I would call it like competence porn.
00:37:02.880 --> 00:37:23.199
Like I really love the depiction of like on in film and on TV of like people who are just uh unabashedly competent and good at what they do, and they know it and they don't ex have to explain themselves and they you know they don't take their shit.
00:37:31.440 --> 00:37:38.400
Yeah, what yeah, and exactly, and I'm not I don't know if you're talking about acting, I'm more talking but yeah, either way.
00:37:38.559 --> 00:37:55.280
Um had and that was uh you know, kind of back to my point, I just realized this is like there w there was no explanation needed for why she had the authority and the power that she did once you saw how she was, right?
00:37:55.360 --> 00:37:58.480
It's like yeah, this is definitely the right the right bit for the job.
00:37:58.800 --> 00:38:00.559
I I buy it, I buy it, yeah.
00:38:00.800 --> 00:38:01.440
Yeah.
00:38:01.920 --> 00:38:05.360
Um I yeah, really good movie.
00:38:05.519 --> 00:38:07.920
I'm s I I'm glad you brought it up.
00:38:08.079 --> 00:38:17.760
I'm still surprised on the interstellar thing, honestly, but um really well I it just doesn't seem like it'd be your speed, honestly.
00:38:17.840 --> 00:38:20.960
I mean I get it now that you've explained it, but it just really doesn't.
00:38:21.360 --> 00:38:25.119
What okay, just for curiosity's sake.
00:38:25.840 --> 00:38:28.559
What in your opinion would be my speed of movie?
00:38:28.719 --> 00:38:30.800
Fast 13.
00:38:31.360 --> 00:38:33.199
You motherfucker, I knew it.
00:38:33.519 --> 00:38:35.119
Uh I hate you.
00:38:35.440 --> 00:38:36.800
Oh yeah.
00:38:37.119 --> 00:38:40.400
Um Teletubbies in space.
00:38:44.400 --> 00:38:47.599
Um hey, uh, you know what?
00:38:47.679 --> 00:38:56.480
Is um we've talked about it before, but like now that it now that I've heard this about you know, interst whatever.
00:38:56.639 --> 00:38:58.880
Uh Stargate SG1, man.
00:38:59.760 --> 00:39:03.199
This this show would totally be your fucking jam.
00:39:03.519 --> 00:39:04.000
Hello.
00:39:04.559 --> 00:39:07.760
Although it would be your jam if you're still here, which you're not.
00:39:08.000 --> 00:39:08.800
I can't hear you.
00:39:08.960 --> 00:39:10.320
Yeah, no, can you hear me now?
00:39:10.480 --> 00:39:11.119
Yeah.
00:39:11.440 --> 00:39:12.559
That was weird.
00:39:12.960 --> 00:39:14.960
Um, okay, so I'm gonna jump back.
00:39:15.039 --> 00:39:15.840
I I guess I don't know.
00:39:16.400 --> 00:39:17.440
Stargate SG1.
00:39:17.760 --> 00:39:18.239
Yeah.
00:39:18.480 --> 00:39:20.559
Uh and three, two.
00:39:20.960 --> 00:39:24.079
Um, no, we talked about it before Stargate SG1.
00:39:24.400 --> 00:39:33.519
And uh something uh again I would never have recommended for you because I just like overall it really didn't take you for a sci-fi person at all, is one thing.
00:39:33.679 --> 00:39:49.519
Um, and then uh it's but what I think how we got on that is what you were talking about um uh oh he I think you went on a wormhole one day on YouTube and you're like, uh did you know that like aliens have actually been here forever and like maybe they built the pyramids?
00:39:51.920 --> 00:39:53.679
Right, yeah.
00:39:53.920 --> 00:39:56.960
And I and I'm like they're in Antarctica, by the way.
00:39:57.199 --> 00:40:05.039
Yeah, and as a responsible brother who recognizes that you've gone off on a bender, I was like, oh bro, it's way crazier than that.
00:40:05.199 --> 00:40:05.760
Get this.
00:40:05.920 --> 00:40:07.039
Actually, aliens.
00:40:09.920 --> 00:40:17.519
But no, the um the premise, uh you probably did, it's been a long time, but uh the original Stargate movie.
00:40:19.440 --> 00:40:21.760
Oh, yeah, there's no chance I remember.
00:40:22.079 --> 00:40:28.159
Yeah, so basically, like the the plot of that movie is they find this Stargate, like this big ring, right?
00:40:28.239 --> 00:40:34.159
And buried in ancient well, I guess it would be current Egypt, but uh well, buried in Egypt.
00:40:35.519 --> 00:40:36.880
And hasn't moved.
00:40:37.039 --> 00:40:37.840
Yeah, hasn't moved.
00:40:38.000 --> 00:40:49.760
Yeah, and so they um it it they figure out because it's got higher what they think are hieroglyphs on it, they figure out that it's a device of some kind, as in it can be activated.
00:40:49.840 --> 00:40:51.280
They don't really know much beyond that.
00:40:51.440 --> 00:40:59.199
And then they figure out that it's a portal device, meaning that you activate it and it connects a fucking wormhole to another planet.
00:40:59.360 --> 00:41:00.639
Well, to another stargate.
00:41:01.360 --> 00:41:13.679
Yeah, so that was the movie, and they did that, and they the movie the movie and the the show uh SG1 are like same same baseline premise, but like very different tones.
00:41:13.760 --> 00:41:16.800
The movie was like a Kurt Russell action movie.
00:41:16.960 --> 00:41:20.000
Um SG1 is like sci-fi comedy action.
00:41:20.079 --> 00:41:23.519
It's a it's a much light, lighter, more fun show.
00:41:23.840 --> 00:41:26.800
And it has uh Richard Dean Anderson in it.
00:41:28.320 --> 00:41:28.960
Cool.
00:41:29.519 --> 00:41:30.480
McGyver.
00:41:31.760 --> 00:41:34.000
Okay, we've never watched that.
00:41:34.239 --> 00:41:35.039
Oh, okay.
00:41:35.280 --> 00:41:36.960
Well, uh anyway, yeah.
00:41:37.119 --> 00:41:41.840
He he was a guy who played MacGyver, and he so he's the he's the lead in this show as well as well.
00:41:42.000 --> 00:42:05.440
But like the diff what they did different in so the premise of SG1 is that okay, basically they had they had this Stargate and they had it in uh you know, an underground Air Force complex, and like it was just there, like they'd used it, whatever, and all you know, interstellar war almost broke out when they use it in the movies, so like we probably don't we're not gonna do that in the worse.
00:42:05.599 --> 00:42:28.800
And uh then it then it basically like fires up one day randomly, and come to find out it's not it's a whole network of stargates throughout the whole galaxy that were built by a race of aliens like you know millions of years ago or whatever, um long gone.
00:42:29.360 --> 00:42:29.519
Okay.
00:42:30.079 --> 00:42:30.559
Pause.
00:42:30.719 --> 00:42:31.360
Yeah.
00:42:31.920 --> 00:43:03.199
That you you just buy into, but fucking a dude's daughter building a freaking uh ter uh whatever they call it, the freaking interdimensional woven thing where it was it it basically put it rendered a physical version of this of space and time to where he could go back to communicate to his daughter when she was a kid to walk her through how to fucking solve for gravity.
00:43:03.519 --> 00:43:13.119
That's a pro that's a stretch, but that a fucking, you know, a a huge plethora network of Stargates is yeah, totally acceptable.
00:43:13.199 --> 00:43:14.880
Yeah, aliens did it, got it.
00:43:14.960 --> 00:43:15.360
I'm in.
00:43:15.519 --> 00:43:16.320
Yeah, correct.
00:43:16.559 --> 00:43:18.400
Hypocrite, hypocrite.
00:43:19.360 --> 00:43:21.679
Uh it's so I get your point.
00:43:21.760 --> 00:43:38.320
It's actually it's it's a it's an interesting, um, it's an interesting sort of like whatever nuance to what we're talking about here, which is like the difference for me is like everything you just fucking said about like the daughter and the hamstring and the harpsichord and fucking I don't know.
00:43:38.559 --> 00:43:41.360
Like you even hearing a harps cord.
00:43:41.519 --> 00:43:42.239
I don't even know what it was.
00:43:42.719 --> 00:43:43.199
It was a book.
00:43:43.679 --> 00:43:54.320
It was a string to the it was a string uh that was a physic a physical rendering of of how he could actually manipulate time from the past, right?
00:43:54.480 --> 00:43:59.280
And so he was flicking a string using Moore's code to communicate with her through a watch.
00:43:59.440 --> 00:43:59.679
Like that.
00:44:00.079 --> 00:44:00.960
It's fucking cool.
00:44:01.280 --> 00:44:04.559
It's it's fine.
00:44:04.719 --> 00:44:06.559
I mean, it's interesting, I guess.
00:44:06.800 --> 00:44:14.320
Like, as a creative choice, it's fuck you know, I didn't I felt like I was a little confused about what the whole thing was when I watched the movie.
00:44:14.480 --> 00:44:17.360
I'm more confused after listening to you try to fucking explain it to me.
00:44:17.679 --> 00:44:20.000
Let me tell you what the difference between horrendous.
00:44:20.159 --> 00:44:20.800
That hurts.
00:44:21.039 --> 00:44:32.000
Well, let me tell you though the difference between like uh Interstellar and Stargate, just in terms of this like, you know, suspension of belief thing or what the disbelief.
00:44:33.280 --> 00:44:33.920
What?
00:44:34.880 --> 00:44:37.840
I I I just love how you frame things up.
00:44:38.000 --> 00:44:38.880
Continue, please.
00:44:39.039 --> 00:44:40.800
Don't uh don't let me interrupt you.
00:44:41.119 --> 00:44:42.480
Well now I'm self-conscious.
00:44:42.639 --> 00:44:43.920
Um, it's great.
00:44:44.320 --> 00:44:45.360
What do I do with my hands?
00:44:45.440 --> 00:44:49.119
Uh the core the core drove real good.
00:44:50.480 --> 00:45:40.559
Uh okay, so like the was specifically with regard to Stargate SG1, the um like the what is happening in terms of like the the network of gates and you know connected by that can be connected by wormholes is like it's a it's explained and it's sort of couched in a very mechanical way in that like and here's one thing that ties it to reality for me, is the um the whole network is based on um basically uh coordinates in space, and so like each gate has a gate address, which is a sequence of like um constellations or star cluster or whatever, basically, right?
00:45:41.840 --> 00:45:43.840
Six and why is six important?
00:45:44.239 --> 00:45:51.599
Because if you want to if you want to identify a point in three-dimensional space, imagine a cube, right?
00:45:52.239 --> 00:45:56.639
So you need uh a dot on each face, right?
00:45:57.280 --> 00:45:58.880
Yeah, that's how you get six.
00:45:59.119 --> 00:46:06.000
Ah, but there's seven, there's seven coordinates on a stargate when you dial out.
00:46:06.159 --> 00:46:08.719
Um, and this is what stumped them in the movie, but then Dr.
00:46:08.800 --> 00:46:10.559
Daniel Jackson came and he figured it out.
00:46:10.880 --> 00:46:31.760
The seventh, and this is the part that a lot of people overlook when they're talking about traveling, you know, through space and time, is the seventh is what if you want to travel from here to Abydos, let's say, you need to know where Abydos is, but also you need to know where you're starting from, right?
00:46:32.400 --> 00:46:32.800
Right.
00:46:33.119 --> 00:46:38.159
So the seventh symbol when you dial in a gate address is always the origin.
00:46:39.760 --> 00:46:40.239
Origin.
00:46:40.639 --> 00:46:41.119
Interesting.
00:46:41.280 --> 00:46:41.599
Mm-hmm.
00:46:41.760 --> 00:46:42.719
So Earth has a symbol.
00:46:44.079 --> 00:46:45.519
Like Earth has a symbol, right?
00:46:45.760 --> 00:46:47.599
And so like each whatever.
00:46:47.840 --> 00:46:51.199
Um what's Earth symbol?
00:46:51.440 --> 00:46:55.119
It's uh it's actually a pyramid.
00:46:55.360 --> 00:47:02.000
Um it's a pyramid with a little like circle of so I guess like a sun over it, yeah.
00:47:02.800 --> 00:47:03.599
Oh, okay.
00:47:03.760 --> 00:47:05.760
So like okay, okay.
00:47:06.239 --> 00:47:06.480
All right.
00:47:06.559 --> 00:47:24.079
So like the when when you're dialing in your code at the Stargate, it's kind of like like those what I would imagine like uh a uh super futuristic version of those like those little um uh padlocks that have the roly numbers on it.
00:47:24.880 --> 00:47:37.519
You know, this is uh I'm glad you asked that question because this actually is a great it it sets up even better to uh for me to explain like my thing uh about getting this and not getting interstellar.
00:47:37.679 --> 00:47:39.199
So that's why I'm the host.
00:47:39.360 --> 00:47:40.079
Yeah, yeah.
00:47:41.840 --> 00:47:44.559
You know, we there's there is a fair recruitment process.
00:47:44.639 --> 00:47:46.480
We both went through the interview process and you won.
00:47:46.559 --> 00:47:48.639
And I don't you don't need to like keep bringing it up.
00:47:48.880 --> 00:48:03.360
Um but like uh okay, so yeah, when so in this gate network, wherever there's a stargate, there's there's what what they what the Earth people decide to call a DHD, which is uh a dial home device.
00:48:03.519 --> 00:48:12.559
And it's like uh it's more like um it's kind of like I would say, you know, maybe two feet across in a circle, kind of.
00:48:12.639 --> 00:48:21.679
It's like two circles, two concentric circles, and it's um, you know, got all the symbols, and so you go ching, ching, ching, ching, like you push them down in sequence, right?
00:48:21.840 --> 00:48:22.719
That's how you do it.
00:48:22.960 --> 00:48:25.760
But here's was another really cool thing.
00:48:25.920 --> 00:48:33.599
And what for me kind of ties like grounds it is when they found the original Stargate on Earth, there was no DHD.
00:48:34.559 --> 00:48:41.519
So they like used modern, and at the time, this is mid-90s, right?
00:48:42.000 --> 00:48:55.440
They basically built they basically mechanized, they figured out a way to move the Stargate to specific things as the computer, uh like a 90s computer, punched in uh that.
00:48:55.920 --> 00:49:06.000
So that's how that's how they dialed the Earthgate out, but like just because they didn't have a DHD, but everywhere else there was usually a DHD.
00:49:07.440 --> 00:49:08.159
Interesting.
00:49:08.400 --> 00:49:08.880
Yeah.
00:49:09.119 --> 00:49:25.119
And uh here's the other thing about it, is it's in the hands of the Air Force, and um so you have whereas like Star Trek or something like that, you have sort of this space travel and stuff going on, but it's like with phasers and you know that kind of stuff.
00:49:25.360 --> 00:49:42.000
No, they fucking Stargate SG1 is uh uh a team of four people, and they fucking go shooting through the fucking wormhole across the galaxy to these alien planets with fucking P90s and a beretta.
00:49:44.159 --> 00:49:45.840
I'm I'm so fucking in.
00:49:46.079 --> 00:49:50.880
It's fucking badass, and it has Amanda tapping in it, which she's fantastic.
00:49:51.280 --> 00:49:51.920
I don't know.
00:49:52.159 --> 00:49:56.000
I I fantastic act actress.
00:49:56.320 --> 00:49:58.639
Uh sh she's she's a good actress.
00:49:59.360 --> 00:50:01.119
No, she's just super adorable.
00:50:01.199 --> 00:50:10.800
She's like blonde hair, blue-eyed, um, and just like great smile, you know, just winning personality, but she's the fucking brains.
00:50:11.039 --> 00:50:12.239
Like she's the fucking brains.
00:50:12.480 --> 00:50:13.679
That's what I love about it.
00:50:13.920 --> 00:50:18.880
Like she's the fucking not I guess she's she's not the typecasted blonde.
00:50:19.360 --> 00:50:31.599
No, but but she's looks great doing it, and she's really fun, and like she's the one who like solves all the fucking tech problems, and she's a fucking, you know, colonel in the Air Force, too.
00:50:31.760 --> 00:50:51.199
And so she's out like, you know, sometimes though they're trying to escape or whatever, and the fucking the DHD on whatever planet they're in got blowed up, and so you know, like the team is like putting down suppressive fire to shoot out these aliens, or not aliens, but like people coming at them.
00:50:51.280 --> 00:51:00.639
And meanwhile, she's hot wiring the fucking Stargate, you know, she's like with tinfoil and a paperclip, and then she turned around and pops off a few rounds of the P90, and it's just like I fucking love it.
00:51:00.880 --> 00:51:03.519
It's like hold on, let me unplug it for 30 seconds and plug it back in.
00:51:03.599 --> 00:51:04.880
I think I'm that might fix it.
00:51:05.039 --> 00:51:05.440
Yeah.
00:51:05.760 --> 00:51:06.159
Yeah.
00:51:06.320 --> 00:51:16.559
Um I I'm gonna I'll send you uh I'm I'm a big advocate of like when see now I'm now I'm hearing it.
00:51:16.719 --> 00:51:18.159
Like how I frame things.
00:51:18.559 --> 00:51:19.039
Huh.
00:51:19.440 --> 00:51:20.480
Kind of a douchebag.
00:51:20.719 --> 00:51:25.760
Anyway, um well in one episode you kept saying my beautiful mind.
00:51:25.840 --> 00:51:28.079
So yeah, I think we're past that point.
00:51:28.559 --> 00:51:32.079
Yeah, I I know, and I I realized that too.
00:51:32.159 --> 00:51:35.840
I think on one of the episodes where I said something, and you're like, uh, yeah, no shit.
00:51:35.920 --> 00:51:37.199
And I'm like, you know what?
00:51:37.440 --> 00:51:42.960
Sometimes I I think I just say things for myself, and I think that's fire why I frame things the way I do.
00:51:43.039 --> 00:51:48.400
I'm like, because you know my brain is a is insane insanity sometimes, and it really adds.
00:51:48.559 --> 00:51:56.159
I think sometimes I almost have to do that, you know, like I have to I have to set the framework of the following sentence, otherwise I won't even understand it.
00:51:56.800 --> 00:51:59.119
You need a grounding rod in every conversation.
00:51:59.440 --> 00:51:59.599
Yeah.
00:51:59.840 --> 00:52:08.239
Um, but anyway, like, you know, when I recommend a show like like this, which has got uh 10 C's and you know, it's got a lot to it.
00:52:08.400 --> 00:52:15.360
Um I'm not I'm not I don't think people should start from the first episode usually because you're jumping into a whole thing.
00:52:15.519 --> 00:52:19.360
So I'm gonna send you the episode I think you should start with.
00:52:19.840 --> 00:52:20.159
Okay.
00:52:20.400 --> 00:52:22.880
Which I believe is in like season four.
00:52:23.280 --> 00:52:33.679
Um and yeah, it's so it's at the point where it's a great episode, first of all, but it's the at the point where you know they've gotten their legs on or whatever.
00:52:33.920 --> 00:52:47.280
But yeah, and that was back in the days where they, you know, they did 22 one-hour shows a season, you know, so there's like 215 episodes of this thing, too.
00:52:47.920 --> 00:52:49.280
Jeez, that's crazy.
00:52:49.519 --> 00:52:52.159
Well, okay, so just a quick question.
00:52:52.400 --> 00:52:55.920
You don't have to give up too much, hopefully.
00:52:56.239 --> 00:52:57.519
But like okay.
00:52:58.000 --> 00:53:02.960
They're they spend ten seasons traveling the fucking universe, right?
00:53:03.119 --> 00:53:03.599
I'm assuming.
00:53:04.639 --> 00:53:07.199
And the the galaxy.
00:53:08.400 --> 00:53:09.360
Oh, just the galaxy.
00:53:09.760 --> 00:53:10.239
The Milky Way.
00:53:10.400 --> 00:53:11.360
Just this galaxy.
00:53:11.679 --> 00:53:12.400
Just the Milky Way.
00:53:12.559 --> 00:53:12.719
Yeah.
00:53:12.880 --> 00:53:12.960
Okay.
00:53:13.199 --> 00:53:17.280
Well, except for there's a little bit in the Pegasus galaxy, but anyway, I think that's all beside the point.
00:53:17.360 --> 00:53:18.000
Go ahead.
00:53:18.400 --> 00:53:31.440
The point, the point that I'm driving at is in ten seasons, twenty episodes per season, I would assume twenty different adventures on twenty different planets throughout the galaxy and summon Pegasus or whatever the fuck you just said.
00:53:31.760 --> 00:53:41.360
They never like decided to go, hey, maybe these guns are kind of like, you know, rudimentary compared to the other shit that these aliens are carrying around.
00:53:41.440 --> 00:53:47.199
Maybe we should, you know, reverse engineer with this super brainy chick and bring it back to our planet.
00:53:47.599 --> 00:53:49.280
So here's here's the thing.
00:53:49.360 --> 00:53:51.199
This is a really good question, by the way.
00:53:51.280 --> 00:53:59.599
And it gets to a really interesting aspect of um the Stargate universe, which is if you fucking butterfly affect me right now, Dan, I'm gonna hang up.
00:54:00.639 --> 00:54:02.079
What does that mean?
00:54:02.559 --> 00:54:12.320
Like, if we don't we we never bring technology from another planet back to Earth because it could upset the equilibrium of the galaxy of the universe or whatever the fuck.
00:54:12.559 --> 00:54:12.880
Oh no.
00:54:13.119 --> 00:54:13.840
Am I on the money?
00:54:13.920 --> 00:54:14.000
No.
00:54:14.239 --> 00:54:14.960
Oh fuck, okay.
00:54:15.199 --> 00:54:18.800
They're like on They're like, we want the fucking tech.
00:54:18.960 --> 00:54:21.760
Like, give it gives but here's the thing.
00:54:22.000 --> 00:54:33.039
Um the the call 'em the ancients, which is the long, long gone um uh race that built the Stargate network, right?
00:54:33.280 --> 00:54:35.199
Like they're totally long gone.
00:54:35.440 --> 00:54:53.599
And so the Stargate network had has been uh for thousands of years or whatever, basically um sort of co-opted by uh another race who they're not great guys, um and they have spaceships and stuff and they can do like hyperspace travel.
00:54:54.159 --> 00:55:13.519
But the to answer partially answer your question, on most of the planets that the Stargates are on, um this other race has basically kept the populations low and not advanced and in in in slavery.
00:55:13.679 --> 00:55:21.760
So basically, like uh they have planets where they grow, you know, they do farming and agriculture, and like this is where we get our corn from or whatever.
00:55:22.000 --> 00:55:46.400
Um and so there's that, but then that's what's really interesting is that this race, because they're the bad guys, is kind of like the villain in this thing, and so then they get wind that oh wait, uh now that now that SG1's poking around, they get wind that there's a very highly populated planet called Earth with a stargate.
00:55:46.559 --> 00:55:49.360
Oh untapped resources.
00:55:49.599 --> 00:55:52.159
Yes, and so now they're coming after us.
00:55:53.039 --> 00:56:04.639
So basically almost from the get um the the Air Force and SG1 are they're like they're they're looking for technology to protect themselves from these guys.
00:56:04.880 --> 00:56:19.519
Um and then that being said, there's a there are a few different races, um, and then there's a another race, and this is where the the uh Nordic mythology comes in, which I don't think I mentioned that this time, but when we originally talked about it, I did.
00:56:19.760 --> 00:56:39.679
Um the Asgard, and they're super advanced, and they basically ally with Earth, but they are also very cognizant of the fact that you guys are neophytes when it comes to traveling to stars, right?
00:56:40.559 --> 00:56:45.760
And so they don't just hand over like uh phasers and lasers and shit.
00:56:46.159 --> 00:57:05.360
Like they help us with they help us with hyperdrive and like they're very involved in making sure that when we build our first like hyper drive ship that like uh you guys know what you're doing, and like we're only gonna give you the technology, we're not gonna give you too much to where you can be dangerous to yourselves or other people.
00:57:05.760 --> 00:57:13.360
And then over time though, you know, they they do it so that it it kind of grows.
00:57:13.760 --> 00:57:18.880
Um to where yeah, then eventually they'll they'll give us shields for the shit, you know, that kind of stuff.
00:57:18.960 --> 00:57:31.360
And so yeah, it's uh and and just one of the things about Stargast G1 that I mean I think it's just a really fun it's a really fun show, blah blah blah.
00:57:31.519 --> 00:57:33.920
But it the world building in it is incredible.
00:57:34.079 --> 00:57:44.320
Like I could talk for another two hours about this kind of stuff and just like the plot points and the premise of it and like barely scratch the surface because there's just so many layers to it.
00:57:45.199 --> 00:57:50.719
I don't know if you ever heard of an onion, but it's got like layers.
00:57:51.519 --> 00:57:51.840
Okay.
00:57:52.400 --> 00:58:02.960
So I I hate to do this to you, but um I've seen a lot of parallels between this show and Interstellar because you have these stargates, right?
00:58:03.039 --> 00:58:06.000
Well, what do you think the fucking black hole was in Interstellar?
00:58:06.320 --> 00:58:07.440
It was a black hole.
00:58:08.320 --> 00:58:20.480
No, it was it was created by people from the future to help the people of the present discover another habitable planet to to survive.
00:58:20.800 --> 00:58:26.639
Oh man, you need when's the last time you watched Interstellar?
00:58:26.880 --> 00:58:28.239
I don't know, when did it come out?
00:58:29.280 --> 00:58:34.320
2014 Probably like um ten years.
00:58:35.599 --> 00:58:35.920
Okay.
00:58:36.400 --> 00:58:37.360
Watch it again.
00:58:37.599 --> 00:58:51.920
If if I watch Stargate SG1, you have to watch Interstellar again and actually We'll do kind of like an episode kind of like what you did with Mark, where you'll watch Finding Nemo, but this will actually be a good movie to watch.
00:58:55.199 --> 00:58:59.679
Finding Nemo was pretty universally appra acclaimed as well.
00:59:00.159 --> 00:59:06.079
And I'm really gonna stop myself here because we don't need to go off on an emo tangent on this show, but um, okay.
00:59:06.239 --> 00:59:12.239
Um I'm gonna modify your deal a little bit because an episode of Stargate is only an hour.
00:59:12.480 --> 00:59:14.639
Parentheses, about 40 minutes, right?
00:59:15.199 --> 00:59:19.119
Um I'll watch Interstellar if you watch two episodes of Stargate.
00:59:19.199 --> 00:59:21.119
SU1 curated by me.
00:59:21.920 --> 00:59:22.239
Okay.
00:59:22.480 --> 00:59:25.119
And you give it a fair shake, and I'll give this one a fair shake.
00:59:25.360 --> 00:59:30.400
And we will reconnoiter at uh a later date.
00:59:30.639 --> 00:59:31.760
At a later shift.
00:59:32.000 --> 00:59:33.039
There you go.
00:59:34.079 --> 00:59:36.239
So stay tuned for that, uh, mom.
00:59:38.480 --> 00:59:41.119
Yeah, thank thanks, thanks for listening, mom.
00:59:41.760 --> 00:59:46.239
And uh time to punch out, and we'll see you on the next swing shift.
