00:02:04
Speaker 4: The lakes.
00:02:05
Speaker 2: The late Jimmy Buffett, I know, I know, heard that news over the weekend.
00:02:10
Speaker 1: Well we boy, we took the music industry this weekend and we knocked out three. We knocked out three. Uh so, Jimmy Buffett to me, probably the most well known by the most people. Gary Wright, well known in some circles. We played Gary Wright. Love is a live dream weaver here on the program. He went on in smash Mouth. The singer's name is haw Yeah. And it's interesting that I did not know he had died until at the reception. I watched everybody singing smash Mouth you and Austar, and they went nuts at the you know, the DJ had that spinning, and I was watching all my adult kids singing that together at each other and jumping around, and then all of a sudden, I guess the next day and he's death. So so we we had three celebrity days over the weekend, all in the music industry. But again the Jimmy Buffett being the most well known by the most people. And that's what a legend. What a legend, what what a legend? And he had to do with cancer, but it was some kind of skinks.
00:03:15
Speaker 2: Uh, seventy seventy six, A lot of sun seventy six, A lot of sun, a lot of sun.
00:03:21
Speaker 1: But Marry Rott was eighty. Yeah, and now they he was full blown what Parkinson, Marmia and all that, Okay, and then I don't know, and then liver failure on the smash correction at fifty six, right, yes, very very young young fellow. So well, guys, a lot has happened since the last time we were together. We got we got plenty today, we got plenty. A lot going on in the sports world. Uh, you know, a lot of that we were wondering going into the week. You come back in the college football world and you know a lot of people you thought, you know, there was a lot of talk about national championships and all that, and they, I guess I can still find a way. But we had a couple of marquee teams get knocked off. We had, of course, the debut of the dion Era at Colorado. That's a lot with that. We'll cover all that today. I'll certainly recap. I've been to the city city. I haven't been to the city since twenty sixteen. I think Sherry and I were trying to figure. I come away with the same feeling I always have when I go to the city is that is a different world this? How how is this island not sinking? How is all this on this island and not sinking? That's a lot? How is this not underwater? Okay? And a lot on it? Right? And if and if you're you know, if you're in the city and a and a driver, if you try to cross when you've got the hand saying stop and you don't have the right to cross, they will run you over. Okay. So if if you start thinking I think I can make it, don't expect them to see you and tap the brakes. They thank you have violated the rue and they have a right to run over, and they will try to look another way. Yeah, And it's interesting how only after you know I was there Saturday, Sunday and part of Monday, and even in two and a half days before I knew it, I'm.
00:05:19
Speaker 4: Like, hey, once where you're going over there? Don't get out of here, you two.
00:05:25
Speaker 1: And you know, so before you know it, I'm in it. Yeah, yeah, we're walking over here. And so.
00:05:34
Speaker 4: You play on Summing anyone today.
00:05:37
Speaker 1: And uh, and I'm like, what if I become I mean, it's uh.
00:05:41
Speaker 4: The Jets still suck, you know, And.
00:05:44
Speaker 1: So I just out, yeah, I got into that with somebody. Really. Well, look if the drivers a Giants fan, don't talk about the hop around the Jets, I'll tell you that. Just keep that. Damn. I tried to figure out that thing you and I tried to figure out too with one driver. Do they all connect on all the teams.
00:06:00
Speaker 2: Like Yankees, Yankees, Giants and is it Rangers? I can't remember what?
00:06:06
Speaker 1: Well, what I found out is usually it is if you are if you are Jihnts, your Yankees, your Nicks, Nick not the Nance. And I believe you're right you're Rangers. But but I was told by wondering I'm not not anymore, not anymore. You can bounce it around if you're okay, all right, you gonna get your own statement, like really, we can't have on stadium. Kid got to go to Jersey for this.
00:06:35
Speaker 2: So the chance the Mets. Who else who's in the nets?
00:06:41
Speaker 5: The nets?
00:06:42
Speaker 2: The Brooklyn nets?
00:06:43
Speaker 1: So you get Mets, Jants nets right, all of them or teams. It's not the ranger, correct. I used to be for the next But then what what is there? I mean, if you can't win it with you and you're not gonna win one, they just set you up to disappoint you. That's what they do. I just got tired of it. I said, I can't do the next anymore. I'm over the nets Brooklyn. Okay, this is a real conversation I was having.
00:07:11
Speaker 6: Yeah, watch that pedestrian.
00:07:14
Speaker 1: Oh yeah, no, No, you don't want to do the one over there on one hundred and eighty fus. Now you never get In's what there's another one over there and Park Avenue. That's what you need to be. Okay, thank you, he was right.
00:07:26
Speaker 5: By the way.
00:07:28
Speaker 1: Fifty minute wake at the other one. Walk right in over at Park Avenue. Really no, if you're going to say a bashi, go over there. The ladies would like it. You probably not so much. Okay, thank you every time?
00:07:39
Speaker 2: I park. Every time I hear Park Avenue, think green Ache.
00:07:46
Speaker 1: We sang that, Yeah, we did. Matter of fact, we were coming out of the restaurant screaming, give me Park Avenue. By the way, we found out from Cameron. She didn't know what that was. No, it wasn't her, it was Brody. We let Brody down, Brod He said, what are y'all singing? Camera goes you don't know green Acres. Y'all didn't teach him Greenek. I'm not familar you ever tell me anything. By the way, the biggest y'all won't tell me anything happens when this trip ever. Oh yeah, golly, I couldn't believe it. All right, So we'll unpack that too, But we'll start with looking back. You want to, we'll push that. I got to send a few more pictures to Adler and all that, so if you can see pictures from the wedding, though, I did get some of those up on the on the Instagram, so you can see that. But when we do the recap, I'll send him some pictures that I took to some other stuff. But beautiful day, beautiful weekend. I can't believe I'm back. It's good to be back. More ricking Bubba coming up right after.
00:08:36
Speaker 3: This ricking Bubba, ricking Bubba, big big response to bank on yourself.
00:08:44
Speaker 1: I actually had a conversation with someone about this last week, and uh, you know, there's nothing that I can really do about the things that I've already you know, as far as the retirement plans that were you know, uh that I was talked into doing that were kind of you know, the old traditional stuff and uh, but as far as what I'm going to do going forward, I'm talking to the folks that bank on yourself as well, because I want to I want to have money that that is for my my future that I actually control, because right now, with an IRA and a four oh one K, you're not we're not controlling that.
00:09:19
Speaker 7: Uh.
00:09:20
Speaker 1: We're in the old Wall Street casino game. Uh. And studies are showing that most Americans who follow the old advice of the IRA and the four oh one K, most of us are outliving that money by ten years on average. So you know, the the gurus on Wall Street right now tell you to max out your four oh one K and RA, but uh, uh, that's who invented the four O one K and H and the guy who invented this as it was a failed experiment uh and should be destroyed. So there's some problems that are happening, and Bank on Yourself is a better way to grow and protect your hard earned money. It's an alternative that has never had a losing year in one hundred and sixty years. Guaranteed predictable growth and retirement income. Your principal and growth are locked in no matter what happens to the market. The retirement income is tax free. You get access to your money for any purpose with no questions asked, without government penalties or restrictions or how much income you take or when you take it. Try doing that with the four, one K and the RA you'll find yourself quite frustrated. Built in inflation protection, the money is guaranteed to grow by a larger dollar amount every single year in both good and bad times. And you know the minimum guaranteed value of your retirement savings on the day that you plan to tap into them. And at every point along the way, do you want guaranteed predictable annual growth, control of your money and tax free retirement income whether then go to bank on yourself dot com slash RBS will send you a free report with the proven retirement plan alternative that banks in Wall Street are desperately hoping you never hear about. Just go to bank on yourself dot com slash RBS and get that free report right now. Obviously see any of this. I did see an uncomfortable moment when a guy who actually was at Auburn with Blake, my oldest son, who got married this weekend. He's sitting at the table at the rehearsal dinner and he's looking down at his phone watching Auburn's debut with Hugh Freese, and he looks at me and he goes and you realize, I'll never forgive your son for having a fall wedding. And I said, no, I know, I know this is an issue, but it is interesting that somebody that he went to Auburn with found his way into New York City and they actually live in the same community and actually worked together on different shows and stuff like. That's crazy. Yeah, it's crazy, but anyway, so let's talk a little bit about it. I know what happened, because you know, you can certainly get back and look at scores, and I saw some of the team Rick and Bubba, the excitement of Bubba and the Dion story. We were all very intrigued with the Dion's story. Even when I realized the way the flights and everything were going to work, that I was going to see this, I was disappointed. I really wanted to see the debut of the Sanders era at Colorado. He proved he could be very successful, you know, with at Jackson State. Could he take the next step to a division a larger Division one program you know that really had fallen off, that was not doing that was doing terribly, And can can all that and can you go and coach the way he coaches and get away with it at that level? Which really I was telling above earlier. He probably couldn't get away from it, get away with it if he was white. But the fact that he's able to go old school and say things and not let players do certain things. They have to dress a certain way, and they have to earn numbers. He can get away with that because he's Dion, Sandra. So really, because you're Dion, you can get away with something that we know will work. But but but a lot of coaches aren't allowed to do that anymore, or they would like to do it. They just can't get away with it, and he can. And it does show that some of this old school discipline, I got to tell you, apparently it always has and always will work if you're just allowed to do it and tell everybody to get over themselves.
00:13:08
Speaker 2: So anyway, and there's something about you know, we rick not that we would hot dog ever, but you know we were kind of taked that you didn't hot dog. But when you've got somebody who is hot dogging or running their mouth and they can back it up, it is it's phenomenal.
00:13:29
Speaker 1: Right, Well, what he's doing is he knows how to bring attention to a program. He knows how to bring to make money for your program. He knows how to get a good team on the field. Now we'll see about longevity, but what happened over the weekend, let's not do it that for him to take as.
00:13:44
Speaker 2: One and eleven team and to go in to TCU that played for the national championship last year, go to their stadium a twenty plus point underdog, and to win the way he did in a very good game, by the way, very outing to watch. That's impressive. I don't care who you.
00:14:02
Speaker 1: Are here's Dion and his pregame speech. So here it is. And whenever we're getting ready to go on the field, he said.
00:14:08
Speaker 8: God, give me a word long before this, but he's been holding it because it's not about them. This is about us. It's had nothing to do with the team that's opposing us. This is about us. This ain't got nothing to do with Then they say us the unbeliever, us to hate us, the doubters.
00:14:30
Speaker 2: This is about us.
00:14:32
Speaker 8: When we started this journey, we told you it was gonna be trying, it was gonna be tough, but you end it because it's about us. That man next to you is americle. That man next to you is a believer. That man next to you is a go get That man next to you is a dog. That man next to you somebody who won't this thing. That man next to you, somebody who believes. That man next to you, somebody that gods to have it.
00:14:54
Speaker 4: Today.
00:14:56
Speaker 8: We ain't got tomorrow, we got now.
00:15:01
Speaker 1: We ain't got next state, we got no, we.
00:15:06
Speaker 8: Ain't coming no more.
00:15:16
Speaker 9: Don't know him?
00:15:18
Speaker 4: Give me my theme music?
00:15:23
Speaker 1: So they went out. What was the final forty five forty two? Yeah, uh, Dion's sun at quarterback went crazy.
00:15:32
Speaker 2: Yeah, real deal, I was I was not sold that he could compete at the D one level and he went out there and lit it up to five hundred plus yards.
00:15:43
Speaker 1: Yeah. So so the game, I'm sure where Jackson State is D one? Right? Well, I mean yeah right, you power five? Yeah I knew what you meant.
00:15:54
Speaker 2: A whole different level.
00:15:55
Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, a whole different level, you're right. So so anyway, so after the game was over, this is him on the field. All right, so here we go.
00:16:05
Speaker 10: Oh, it's coach Pride, coach Prime.
00:16:07
Speaker 11: It doesn't get much better than this.
00:16:09
Speaker 12: You said all along, we come in, this team.
00:16:12
Speaker 1: Is here, and why did you impress?
00:16:14
Speaker 2: How proud are you?
00:16:15
Speaker 11: Thank you Jesus, I'm so thankful right now. I'm my son, man, my part right, my son, my love a son. Whoa man, I'm loving these kids, Rick George are giving me this opportunity. Man, this is a blessing. Everybody, both nations who supported us in all the hood that had my back. I thank y'all God, this is good.
00:16:35
Speaker 1: Who well, can you tell me about your defense and the way they came up huge with that stop.
00:16:40
Speaker 10: To get this one?
00:16:41
Speaker 11: They used to run us a big plays throughout the game, and we all we've kept teaching was is we knew one stuff, one.
00:16:46
Speaker 1: Stuff, But what about the offense? How did they respond? How did these guys respond?
00:16:50
Speaker 11: I don't know how many snaps he played, but we're gonna put a hot tub on the plane for him to make sure he's straight. Hey, we're excited because we are heading to visit your home next week, fulsome Field, What is your mess sends to the fans of what we can expect from Colorado.
00:17:02
Speaker 10: We told you we come, We told you we come.
00:17:05
Speaker 5: You thought we were joking.
00:17:06
Speaker 1: And guess what we keep receiving?
00:17:08
Speaker 2: Godless your America.
00:17:09
Speaker 1: Oof, God is good. We can't receive now. I know we got about a minute left for the him with the reporter after it was over.
00:17:18
Speaker 10: Uh and is this all?
00:17:20
Speaker 1: Is this all of them put together? The last one? Yeah, yes, it's about a minute and a half way all right, So we don't have time. So we'll come back and do that. Because I know that you know there there is this feeling, especially if you're the personality of Dion. If you do what you keep telling everybody that that that you're you're going to do, and you can do and everybody's like, well, you know, I understand how you're hyping us up, and good for y'all and if y'all play well and all that, and then you actually win it, and they've been dogging and saying that, you know, it's a step out, and then and then you get your chance to sit there with them and ask him, uh, do you also feel differently now?
00:17:55
Speaker 2: And Rick, the player he's referring to as being his other son there was the Hunter.
00:18:01
Speaker 10: It is his last name, Hunter, Travis Hunter.
00:18:04
Speaker 2: Travis Hunter. He played, did I hear? Did I read that right? One hundred snaps? Because he played offense.
00:18:10
Speaker 1: And he's still playing both ways for Colorado. Yeah, because I know he did a Jackson show.
00:18:14
Speaker 6: I know, yes, he didn't hardly come off the field, right, Okay, he's still playing both ways.
00:18:18
Speaker 1: He made a pick at the goal line that was unreal, right, and the guy was open.
00:18:22
Speaker 2: And he's the guy that was the number one recruit that Dion talked to go into Jackson State. That's correct that everybody was kind of shocked that he was able to land that he followed him to Colorado. And he's a real deal. I me a real deal.
00:18:35
Speaker 1: Well, I was wonderingf he was gonna play both ways at Colorado. I guess that's answered.
00:18:39
Speaker 2: He said he was gonna put a hot tab for him on the fly.
00:18:42
Speaker 1: All right, we'll come back, we'll get Dion's post game, then we'll get some of your phone calls about some of the football over the weekend, and then we'll recap the trip to New York coming up next hour. More Ricking Bubba coming up right after this, Ricking Bubba.
00:18:57
Speaker 5: Ricking Bubba.
00:19:00
Speaker 1: So, looking back, we talked about the big win the Sanders era at Colorado. Now you know, going forward, they're gonna have to deal with something they really didn't have to deal with too much going in, and that was everybody thought that if they just looked better, that would be a success. Now they've gone and beat TCU in the first game, so now you know expectations. Now he's got to teach them how to handle that. But you know, it's easy to motivate when everybody thinks you can't do it and you keep telling everybody that and all that.
00:19:28
Speaker 2: Then I was Rocky one, Yeah, yeah, right, and then when you get to Rocky three, it's a different challenge.
00:19:33
Speaker 1: It's a different challenge.
00:19:34
Speaker 9: Yeah.
00:19:34
Speaker 1: So anyway, here is coach Sanders now dealing with the press after the game, especially those that apparently have been writing things that they didn't believe that they were going to pull this off. So here we go.
00:19:48
Speaker 9: For real, Shador Sanders from v.
00:19:52
Speaker 8: The one that played at Jackson last year, the one that you asked me, why would I give.
00:19:56
Speaker 4: Them the starting job? And that's not you. I got receipts, I know where they are hurt.
00:20:02
Speaker 13: We're gonna continuously be questioned because we do things that has never been done.
00:20:07
Speaker 9: That's the way our life has presented themselves.
00:20:09
Speaker 11: We do things that have never been done, and that makes people uncomfortable.
00:20:13
Speaker 8: When you see a confident black man sitting up there talking and talk, walking his walk, coaching seventy five percent African Americans in the locker room.
00:20:21
Speaker 4: That's kind of threatened me. Oh, they don't like that.
00:20:25
Speaker 1: We guess what we.
00:20:25
Speaker 13: Gonna consistently do what we do because I'm here and ain't going nowhere, and I'm about to get comfortable in a minute, and just what we accomplished out there today, ain't none of y'all believe that maybe a company y'all that knew men know how I get down.
00:20:37
Speaker 1: They know I'm a winner. Were gonna end up winning, ain't None of y'all thought you was gonna be sitting up here.
00:20:42
Speaker 8: You supposed to be on the other side, you know, interview on that or coming asking me, or what happened?
00:20:48
Speaker 4: You said this, and you said that?
00:20:50
Speaker 9: Yeah? Now what?
00:20:52
Speaker 14: Now?
00:20:52
Speaker 7: What?
00:20:53
Speaker 4: Everybody quiet?
00:20:54
Speaker 7: Now?
00:20:55
Speaker 15: Now?
00:20:55
Speaker 4: What what's up?
00:20:57
Speaker 2: All you believe?
00:20:58
Speaker 4: Now you will hold on?
00:21:01
Speaker 9: Oh no, do you believe that?
00:21:03
Speaker 5: Huh?
00:21:04
Speaker 4: Oh no, no, no, I read through that little junk you wrote down. I read through that. I sipped it through all that. Oh no, come on, question do you believe?
00:21:16
Speaker 1: You don't leave?
00:21:19
Speaker 4: You didn't answer it. You don't believe?
00:21:21
Speaker 1: Next question? Uh, you know it comes with the package.
00:21:30
Speaker 2: Oh it does, Yeah, it does.
00:21:32
Speaker 1: But you know, I know, I know.
00:21:34
Speaker 2: The somebody who suggested hiring Dion looks like a genius right now.
00:21:39
Speaker 1: By the way, Yeah, well, and it goes back to this, you know, we and hopefully everything will go well. And I respect the way he runs his program as far as what he requires of his players and all that. So there's not a whole lot you have to deal with other than just the hot dogging and the trash talking and and all of that. But think about it. If he wins, all that is a lot of fun. If he starts losing, then all that starts getting on everybodys and you know, and that's just the way it is. Yeah, that's that's just life. And that applies to everything. You know, we say, you've got you've got to be more fine than you are. Crazy. They got they have their own They have.
00:22:14
Speaker 6: Their home opener this weekend against Nebraska. They'll host them eleven am on Fox.
00:22:18
Speaker 1: Then they.
00:22:21
Speaker 6: Then then they coast host Colorado State, and then they're at Oregon. So well, uh, I think what Oregon? Didn't they They were put about two hundred up. We again, Yeah, so we'll see. They could be three and o going to Oregon or you never know. You know, Nerabraska has improved as well. They lost to Minnesota, but they're improved as well.
00:22:42
Speaker 2: You know, Nebraska, we've talked about what what a program they had when we were growing up, how dominant they were, and they were always number you know, just one or two in the country, seems like all the time. And if you're trying to get your act together, which they they have been trying to do, and now they've got to go into a Colorado that's going to you know, that place is going to becoming unhinged because it's been such.
00:23:05
Speaker 1: A draft there. So looking over yeah, absolutely, looking over the rest of the weekend. Uh, you know some interesting Utah did beat Florida handily.
00:23:14
Speaker 2: You know, that was another one that I'm just I'm kind of shocked that Florida did not look any better than they did.
00:23:22
Speaker 1: Well.
00:23:22
Speaker 2: I mean, I thought that.
00:23:24
Speaker 1: If Utah had had their quarterback, I really thought Utah was the favorite in that game. But when they y'all told me the quarterback wouldn't play, and I kind of thought, okay, wall But you remember it.
00:23:34
Speaker 2: Was just a few years ago, uh you know, probably eight or nine now that Utah was everybody's kick off them in the sec they were spinning around and everybody was beating them up pretty bad. And of course they played Auburn into overtime. You know one year were Utah.
00:23:48
Speaker 1: State was that Utah State? Yeah, that's Utah State. Okay, different one, Yeah, Utah State is is is it? That's different on your schedule than when Utah was on there. You might remember Utah beating Alabama in the trip that's where came.
00:24:03
Speaker 2: From right and they were coming up.
00:24:05
Speaker 1: But Utah even last year it was a really good football they were and uh, but in.
00:24:09
Speaker 2: Florida, they've come along one. Yeah, and Florida is that is not that good right now, so I thought. But I thought they were going to be good this year.
00:24:16
Speaker 16: Well you taw Gona. They were a top fifteen teams ranked in the country.
00:24:20
Speaker 1: Was not ranked correct, But I thought when they lost their quarterback, I thought, No.
00:24:24
Speaker 16: I agree with that.
00:24:25
Speaker 1: I agree with that. I guess them winning is not an upset. I always feel like Florida has enough athletes. They ought to be played with. Anybody, right you talk can be a pesky little team. I mean they can meet they can on any given day, they can be.
00:24:38
Speaker 6: But yeah's point, this definitely was an upset. But I did think Florida would look better competitive.
00:24:43
Speaker 1: You would think they'd been competitive, but they weren't. No, I didn't see it, so they were never even never in it. I got to see the last coming I got back from U A. B's game and got and got to see that like maybe the last seven eight minutes, and but I was really more intrigued with the Nebraska Minnesota game that was going on. Around, you know, I didn't. Sherry and I were trying to remember the last time we had been, you know, Bubba, you know, those of us that have been multiple times, we referred to it as the city the last time we have been to it, and boy, it doesn't by the way, So we I think the last time that Cherry and I were in the city, and I feel pretty accurate with this was twenty sixteen when Sherry's book released and she was on Fox and Friends. I think that was the last time that Sherry and I were in the city. So we haven't been there in a while, in the city, and so we have you know, we have adult children that live everywhere. We have one that lives in Philadelphia, one that lives in New York City, one that lives in Atlanta, and then one that lives in Birmingham. So so we we were all kind of wondering, you know, when our oldest son, Blake, when he let us know that he was going to marry Priscilla Curtis. Uh and uh uh. The Curtis family just wonderful, wonderful people. As a matter of fact, through this this engagement and now marriage. Uh. The Stephanie Curtis uh, you know, Blake's mother in law has become a huge Rick and Bubba fan. Really yeah, Hey, she and don and and Stephanie live in Atlanta. And she said, so, so I kind of want to know about this family that my daughter was, you know, gonna be married into and they're still okay with it. Well, you know, and I said, and I said, and I bet you were great. She goes, You know, I thought to myself the beginning, what in the world we got ourselves in? And so she has gotten in the loop and like knows all the different backstories and and all of that. So that's been a lot of fun. And they're just wonderful, wonderful people. And as Sherry and I have got to know them, we just have been it's just been They're just such pleasant people. And they've got lots of kids. Uh and this is this is their baby. Uh and so so uh we we were we all they left. They live in Atlanta, and then we all they left Atlanta, we left the Birmingham area, and people and people from all over all came to New York Washington Heights to be very specific about where the wedding took place in this beautiful park of course here I'm now trying to remember the name of it Fort Fort something park, and I can't remember the name. Washington Yeah, no it was was it trying something like that, But anyway, very very beautiful park there in Washington Heights where the wedding took place. And then so everybody traveling with me was Brooks, Big Love Burgess, Young Broaderick and his fiance because you know, now we moved to marriage too now, which is happening in thirty days, okay, and so and so fantastic the fall of marriage. Also was invited to the wedding and was going with young Broderick, and she had never been to the city. So so we were trying to make this turn this into a and there's the whole gang right there. So you've got Brandy Brooks, Blake Brody, then you've got Cameron, and then you got Priscilla. So there they all are. So you know, you re us are rare when your kids are adult you get them all in one place. So so we were able to do that and everybody was there, and you know, Blake is just he said, just the whole thing of wondering, you know, Okay, one family a right there. I got them here on Friday. Okay, while there's there's the dad's got his bunch here. You know, we're on the ground. Okay, well there'd okay, Brandy's here. She's from Philly. So so everybody was arriving. But you know what was kind of cool is you kind of you know when you're when your kids are adults. Blake's thirty three, thirty two, thirty two, Blake's thirty two, and so you know he's a grown man, and and you get there and you realize that he lives in this world with all these other adult friends and and the big shocker for Blake and he really could not get past it is he had not seen me since the weight loss. Oh, and so I showed up. He goes, I got to ask a terrible question and I dread this, how much do you weigh? And I said, how about two twenty four? He goes, oh, my gosh, that's what I weigh. I said, well, I guess we.
00:29:13
Speaker 4: Were then, and uh. I said, well, I guess.
00:29:16
Speaker 1: I could be an actor. Yes, I could do some modeling and uh and he's like, Dad, you're almost look strange. And I said, I said, no, what's bad. Is I mean, listen, let's ask the question. Am I thin? Are you a little heavy?
00:29:28
Speaker 4: Oh?
00:29:28
Speaker 1: I mean? And and he was like no, he goes, I can, I said, you can see youself to be a good show. Well, I guess we wait the same, well regular last time that happens. When is that Auburn? You wait too? Eighty five? That's what I said, And then he looked at it. He goes, but Dad, I gave you all my two eighty five two ninety Auburn stuff. I said, I can't wear it anymore, and neither can. I say, I tell you what I'm I can wear your jersey now. Uh, so I ain't look at this bubble. You missed the sadi. This is a view right here from the Empire State Building. Because we want to be sure that cam Tastic got to go see some sights, so so you know, and and and so we we got to do that. We also there was a little bit of pressure.
00:30:04
Speaker 9: Uh.
00:30:04
Speaker 1: You know, Cameron had never seen a Broadway play and uh and so we were like, okay, Cherry got some tickets, and you had to kind of go with whatever you could get a show for that would work with the rehearsal dinner and fitted in and so we found an eight pm Josh Grobin and Sweeney Todd. Now now Sweeney Todd is it's a it's a dark comedy and uh, and we were a little bit concerned about it, and almost and then we started to realize that this version of it, they didn't really go gross it was it was not near as gory as is like say that when, of course Tim Burton did the movie, which I understand was, I mean, it's very dark and whatever with the Johnny Depp and all that. But anyway, this was the Broadway play which was a little more, a little more comedic and little and a little less dark. And of course hearing Josh Grobin in a theater scene is just like that. There were times that like he would belt out and and like all the all the actors are ready to do their next line, and the standing ovation in theater went on so long that it all stood there and looked at each other, and then they would go and now or no, and let me tell you something. And I know, Bubba, I've talked about it. When you think of Rick and Bubba, you don't think of appreciation for Broadway. You really don't. And it's not really our thing, but we both and have talked about it on the air, are blown away by the talent. I mean, the talent of these productions is mind blowing. I mean it is mind blowing. And you know, and camera was like, wow, this is I mean not just not just the people on the stage that's a given, the precision at once. They knocked that out show after show. I'm talking about the lighting guy never misses a mark, the sound guy never misses, the orchestra never misses, the actors never miss and you know they of course Grobin you know how good he can sing, but everybody in the in the cast could sing almost as good. And the little kid from Stranger Things was in it. Uh, the one that has those kind of weird it's got kind of a weird look. Oh yeah, got the curt yeah yeah yeah, whatever that kids yeah ye yes, yeah, you know he has kind of an odd look to me. Yeah, and he.
00:32:12
Speaker 6: Are we complimenting him while saying trying to be a talented little fellow.
00:32:16
Speaker 1: But but he played a kid in the show because of the way he looks, you know, because he's light I mean, yeah, but he played a kid, and and and and he was fantastic and he did a tremendous job. Is all I know him is the kid from Strangers. That guy, Uh yeah, that's him. Yeah, that's him. So uh what is his name? Gatton? I think yeah, he was in and and and so that that was really good. Yeah, that's him. Yeah. And let me say that girl right there in the middle, she's the one that does all the comedy stuff and she's some famous Broadway actress, but I wasn't familiar with her, but she is absolutely hilarious and and and very very talented. The whole the whole, the whole cast was but you know, but but you're but you're in the city, and so while we're down there that close, we're like, well, Cameron, you have to see Times Square might have been a Time Square lately. That changes everybody been a Times Square lately. It is a freak show and signaked caboy. I did not because it was at night, and I'm talking about you couldn't turn, you couldn't look one way. I mean, they were so many people packed into that square. I mean, and I was looking at Cameron and she was kind of like, yeah, this is overwhelming. I said, let's let's just stand here and look for a minute and let me tell you something. When you're good with this, I am ready to have that. And and so we got a good look at that. But we'll we'll come back and we'll we'll kind of talk about the ceremony was was beautiful. What happened at the end. You know, you think we're trying to get eye this relatively unscathed and uh, I had an insign with an uber driver. Uh. And then there was something at the end that I just if you would have told me that was going to happen, I don't went. There's no way that we'll be right.
00:34:03
Speaker 5: Aback ricking, Bubba, ricking Bubba.
00:34:08
Speaker 1: Wedding in New York City as we are back, so Blake and now married to his bride, Priscilla. It all went beautiful. It was wonderful. So glad to be there. You know, we were talking about one of the things, and you know how we love stuff like this, Bubba. You know there's things like this you and I love when someone comes up with a good idea. So when you go to the Empire State Building, and I had not been there in a long time, and a lot of things have been upgraded since I was there. I mean they really it's a much bigger experience, all the way to the observa observatory. Now you know all the famous movies that have been shot there. They show you all that going in and whatever. Of course one of the most famous what is King Kong. Yeah, and so let me tell you what's hilarious. They have it set up.
00:34:48
Speaker 11: Now.
00:34:48
Speaker 1: Look where you walk in this room and it looks like King Kong is reaching in and let me tell you where where I'm at. Think about how Cameron looks with the blonde hair and all that. And I said, Cameron in there and let King Kon have you in his hands, and I want you to throw it like your screaming. And she would not do it. And I was like Cameron, and then I told Cherry, you do it. You know you're a little blonde. Go get in there and let's have King Kong grab you. And I finally had take pitch your two kids. I know who they are. I couldn't get anybody to do it.
00:35:17
Speaker 2: You couldn't get the blonde to get it.
00:35:19
Speaker 1: I said, we got to have a blonde in there and let me have a shot of it. And they wouldn't do it. But look at that said, that's they make it look like he's actually reached through the building and and that kind of cool.
00:35:30
Speaker 16: All right.
00:35:31
Speaker 1: So so anyway, so we the only incident that you know, because you have to take on a New York attitude when you get in New York because if you don't, I mean they'll just still the city will each you live. And so you got to watch out for things. So we we were, of course in the mode of we had we had a driver that was waiting. We flew private. There was no way I was gonna fly this commercial. And we couldn't have done it, not with this crew. Because here's the deal. Like, for instance, think about all the dress clothes you have to carry with you. Well, the women are not gonna have their gowns folded up in some suitcase, and you know, so you got to have those and they're all hanging and stuff. Now here's what I love. I've got all my suits. By the way, the suits went fine. I picked them up, they were all they're all, they fit, everything was good. So here was the problem. So I've got a bag with all my suits in it because I got to have a suit for the rehearsal dinner than a suit for the wedding. And then Sherry's got her dress and she was just as beautiful as she could be, Cameron beautiful, and they had all their their stuff, their dresses. You know the drama that goes with that. And so all of a sudden, coming from Atlanta is Brooks, big love birdes to the plane and I'm looking and he has nothing in his zip bag. He's just carrying clothes he grabbed out of the closet, all on hangers, and I'm like, son, do you not have that in something? No, sru I mean I just know that this stuff I'm supposed to wear right, And I'm like, you just you just grab stuff out of your closet on the hangers. I mean, you're just walking up with clothing. And I said, out and out of the cloth. I said, how are we gonna get the We're gon we're gonna lay your close And I said, do you are you familiar with zip bags and where you get those? And I said, wait a minute, is your idea that you're hanging clothes You're just gonna bring them from the closet to the plane to the car. Yes, sir, I mean, I got them this. This is a suit store. I'm supposed to have I know some but you don't have it anything. It's not in anything. You're just walking around like like you're like, where do what if it rained? Do you think we're gonna find a closet everywhere you go where we And then the pilots look at me, and I said, I guess, I guess you just lay it flat and the nose of the plane just just just lay it on top of what's in there. And and that became that the whole time. And then we're trying to leave and he's coming out and closed or falling on the sidewalk. Yeah, and I'm like, son, and uh so he thought he was doing so good. Well, you know, the thing is when everybody's adult, is there any more anxiety with when your kids are adults, You're like, we're all meet somewhere and they're all coming from their worlds. I don't know, and uh and and so so anyway, so but anyway, that the thing that you me and the and that was the only time I elevated the entire trip is you have y'all know all this. I'm not talking like you don't know it. But when you have a party of five, you got to go uber Excel because you have to let him know. I gotta have a vehicle. It's got to have five people. And so all of a sudden, this guy pulls up and we had order ordered Excel and we're standing on the corner trying to get out of Times square to what we're doing, and and uh and I look and and he's just in a regular car. I said, hey, man, did you not see that we ordered Excel? Yes, Uh, there's five of us and your car only only holds four. And he looks at me and he goes, I'm five. I said, you counted yourself. I said, no, you're a given because somebody has to drive. I said, you don't count in the number?
00:38:45
Speaker 10: Did you count?
00:38:46
Speaker 1: And then he goes, well, I can let me take you for I said, I'd like to know this, and shares that Rick, No, no, I got to know this. What would you propose we do with the fifth person here? Did we just leave them here on the are we putting him on it? I can't believe you've count. You don't count yourself. And also my accents start changing. You tell me you count yourself as five? You get what are you kidding me? You're goofles, you know, and you're going to New York. And I said, I gotta know what are you thinking? And I said do you think? I said, how do you think this is gonna work? There's no way you counted yourself? You're a given. Sherry told me, she goes, by the way, you're a given. Two times is all you need to say that she because you gave him five, you're a given. I think he understood that he was a given. And I said, well, you just got to go and we have to wait, and so then we had to get another one, so so that that he didn't count hisself. No, I mean you you count yourself as five? Are you kidding me? And he was like, I was like, you're given? And uh, you're probably.
00:39:42
Speaker 4: A Jets fan. Rogers is never going to work out.
00:39:45
Speaker 1: I don't know. I became a Giants fan all of a sudden, but anyway, so so so that seemed to go pretty smooth, and but then there's the the daunting is is everybody gonna get ready and you know how you had to do this like a game is I'm just like, if we can just get through the rehearsal dinner, you know, because that's our responsibility, is the groom family.
00:40:03
Speaker 2: How far do you have to travel to this too? Because of New York?
00:40:06
Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean here was the good news. Now I do love and we all know this. If you have any family members, and all of you know this are friends that have officially lived there long enough that they've become New Yorkers. Never let them tell you something's not far. Don't buy into that. Oh no, you can walk that. Don't listen to that. So, first of all, they're not taking into account that all the women are wearing their heels. Okay, you're in dress shoes. Our feet are so blistered. Everybody's feet are blistered. Okay, what you're just gonna get met up there at the Puckye. You can walk it from here. No, it was a mile, okay, and so that that is short. I'll give you that, but not walking in formal clothing. And so now if we all want to put the shorts on and we want to get a workout in somehow, I don't think the wedding party and headbands is going to be great. And so now you can walk that. No, no, we can't. Now, we can't. We're from Alabama. We need a ride and don't count yourself. So uh so. So anyway, so it was the the rehearsal dinner was in the hotel where we were staying. So that's a big win. Okay, oh yeah, that's that's a huge big And the theme of the restaurant was Dominican. So we literally sat down in ate for three hours. They fed us for three solid hours. A first one, I saw, why are we doing the rehearsal three to six? I realize now because the Dominican food that comes out in different stages and you all, it was it was absolutely delicious and the food just kept coming and and everybody sat around and visited and we got to talk and you know, you get up and you you you welcome everybody, and you're excited about the families and you get to meet all the all the friends. And I got to hanging out with some guys down on my end of the table that you know, that was I got some interesting conversation down there, got that had an Eagles fan kind of get into it a little bit with some of the New York fans. Uh. That didn't go well, but but it was it was a it really went off without a hitch. So when we come back, well will hit the actual rehearsal, you know, we're checking that got that done. But now we got to get everybody to the wedding the next day. At this part that you could walk it, you can't walk it, which means now what wedding people all fighting over the same ubers.
00:42:25
Speaker 5: Yeah, because you got to get there ricking bubba, ricking bubba.
00:42:31
Speaker 1: Flashing back to the wedding in New York. And uh, and it was just a wonderful, wonderful weekend.
00:42:40
Speaker 2: You know.
00:42:41
Speaker 1: One of the things that you know, we were we were talking about, you know, Blake, the oldest son is six three and a half, so he's he's a tall fellow. And and his bride she's every bit of six foot. I mean she's she's tall as well. And and what was hilarious, you know because uh, you know, Sherry is is so so tiny, and and to watch Sherry talking to them, it was so funny. And uh, you know, and the and and they did at the at the reception, we did the you know, they did the son and mother dance and Sherry dancing with Blake and please look. I mean, and that was the you know what, the dance to Josh Grobn and so that that all kind of tied together. And uh, but it's so funny to watch and look, young brod say somebody video Young Brodrick got hired out by and it's so funny. Way it's like Brody was like, you know, I don't even know what Blake hasn't really communicated me what he am. I'm the official videographer of this whole thing, or am I shooting this stuff? But say look and then this is I do want to say that the wedding pictures were showing you see Jeremy Varner over here to the right, one of Blake's friends. Outstanding photographer, that's all. When you see the professional shots, not the stuff that Sherry and I shot on our offphones, but the professionals, Uh, that's him doing that. So when you're in the entertainment world and he's got access to great photographers, he's got access to videographers, and there's sound people, there's DJs. Oh we had you think you think our guitar player wouldn't phenomena. I mean he was fantastic and quite the dancer uh, but so so anyway, so the the service. Uh, the first thing I realized and Sherry was all in on this is we got to get out ahead of the rest of the wedding party because there's going to be a rush on our hotel. And listen, you talked about sometimes you think about things and you go, is this almost on the nose? So when Blake and Priscilla were trying to figure out where they would house the family, the hotel we'd stay in, where we do the rehearsal, dinner and all that. Can you believe? They found a hotel in Washington Heights called the Radio Hotel. No it, and it really meant radio like the guy who who who his company or whatever he owned a lot of radio stations all over the world or whatever, and and they named Radio Hotel and there was like a radio theme. Can you believe that? Yah? Yeah, I thought that was kind of kind of interesting. But anyway, it's the hotel. Yeah, Radio Hotel in Washington Heights. It's a so and Sherry said, I'm not remembering the park. It's try and try On Park there in Washington Heights is where the ceremony was, and and uh, try On So uh so, and God was so good and answered so many prayers. The weather we couldn't we could not have got better weather for an outdoor wedding. You know, you always swept to sweat that. It wasn't too hot. Uh, it wasn't too cold. There was no rain in the forecast, and and so all all that was was beautiful. But we got out ahead of everybody. I said, we need to get we need to get out there, and we need to go. Well, in a little bit of anxiety, even though it was a cool thing, it was wonderful that that that Blake did. This was he wanted his brothers to come where he was and be with him as he's getting ready to get married. He said, I wanted this to kind of be a special time with the brothers and all that. Well, that's good, but but then there's the bad side. I've now lost control of the brothers. Okay, they're all arriving together. They're not with us now now now we're now, and now I've been left with two women. I've got Cameron and Sherry all getting ready and I've got to get them, you know, and and you know, how about this, is there any is there any anxiety, Hire, Gregor, you've been through it twice, Okay. Is there any anxiety higher than your wife trying to get ready for a wedding involving the son or the dogars? I mean, if anything goes wrong, and you know, and Sherry's dress kind of had a train on it, and I stepped on it a couple of times, and I I gotta get I just do it. I don't want to. I want to luck that we don't know that you if I get too close, I could step on If I'm not close enough, it looks like I'm being you know, distant. I don't know what to do. Uh. But anyway, that was a sweet moment too. That was when they get their picture made and talking to Sherry Blake. But anyway, so, so there was some sweating of that, I don't know how you are you want to leave it at exact time? Yeah, well, Cherry was all that time. No, Sherry, you have her credit. Sherry didn't want any anxiety at all, okay. And we also didn't want there to be any uber problem because there was gonna be rush on ubers okay, and and so and you know, and you're dealing with the entertainment types too when you get into the friends, so you know they're all gonna drag in, you know, and and so so so I we we were kind of like, let's even if we're at the park early. And of course, again you're dealing with entertainers, so nothing's in stone. We literally went in twelve hours from pictures or at four forty five to all of a sudden, like nothing at at four thirty. Hey, pictures are five, you know. So it's like you're trying to get that thing dialed in, and you're like, and everybody's a little la fare I about five, you know what, I'm like, got weading for forty five. And of course, as as young Broderick knows in the study of me, he goes, and this is driving you crazy, simply, yeah, this is this thing's gotta we gotta, we need more structure, you know. And he said, Dad, this is just a little too loosey goosey to do it. And I said, yeah, this, we need some structure here. I gotta I gotta have some hard breaks here. So, uh, how long did you stand in the park way?
00:48:20
Speaker 10: Oh?
00:48:20
Speaker 1: So long, so long, and uh and so and at one point you tried to sit down on the bench and say, let's just enjoy this, you know, even though we're all informal wear and it's still about ninety you.
00:48:30
Speaker 10: Know, try not to swear.
00:48:31
Speaker 1: Yeah, don't start don't start up there it goes uh so uh, daddy's sweating and suit. Sweating and suit. But anyway, the pictures and everything went smooth. The boys got there. At one time, there was has anybody got a is any anybody got a brook? Some Brody sighting?
00:48:48
Speaker 3: Uh?
00:48:49
Speaker 1: You know, yes, Uh, the last time I saw and then there was that that kind of anxious moment we can document Brody. We're not sure where Big Love is, you know what I mean, he's looking for it. Hang right now. I'm like, this is just close, little hangars.
00:49:02
Speaker 16: Uh.
00:49:03
Speaker 1: He dropped the shirt out on the street when you saw him, When you saw him, did it appear to be a suit that we brought with us? Is? Did it looked like? You know? And so into his credit he looked great. Everybody did. And so the wedding was just it was beautiful. It was it was great. It was it was you know, it was it was quite the celebration. So we and then then there came this, this, this was, this was They're the Curtis Is right there there there with their daughter, Priscilla. She she was just a as y'all all can see clearly, just a beautiful, beautiful bride. And uh everything was just so so well done. And so we were already thinking about the reception. I'm like, no, I'll, I'll no, I'm not walking because I got New York again. Now, Dad, we can all we want to walk all as a wedding party, even still taking pictures stuff. As we walked to the reception. We're walking. It's not far New York, New York, people said, not far. And and I'm looking down and of course at this point, you know, blessed your's little heart, because we'd already been told something wasn't far before. And their little toes are blistered and some we got band aids on the toes and uh and so so so we can put you know, our perfect shoes back on and uh so we all walk to the reception, and as as usual, it was, it was further than we all thought. And uh and but we by golly, we did it. And uh and and and we and we got there and uh and and uh we we had a It was just a great celebration. The playlist was incredible, watching them all dance and sing and have fun together, and the food was.
00:50:41
Speaker 2: Some pretty good dancers in the group.
00:50:42
Speaker 1: Let me tell you something once again, some people there, this is what they do for a living and they can bring Let me tell you something. That dancing was impressive. The dancing, the singing, I mean everybody, everybody, everywhere you turned, everybody was like incredibly talented. It was. It was fun just to sit and watch you get out there and bust to Move. I did, bust a move. Let me tell you what. I got mad at everybody. So I get up. I'm in the I'm in the bathroom, and all of a sudden I hear young MC bust to Move.
00:51:14
Speaker 4: I come the bathroom.
00:51:16
Speaker 1: Uh, and I go on to the table. I said, guys, what are we doing? We and I sit here during bust to Move, And everybody said, bust to move? Dad, what is what is bust to move? See what are y'all talking about? We're playing? But why are we sitting here? I'm busting to move? And so so I did and uh and yeah, sharing I got out there and we we danced and and everybody danced and danced really hard, okay hard, and then I realized and I started getting scolded. I see, this is my first time to have any of my kids get married, so I'd never been part of being, you know, part and I'm kind of like, I'm like, I'm good and you can't leave? And then young Bribery charts. He goes, you don't vapor here and I said, I'm not at the junction, said said. I said, how long am I here? And she says, till they leave? You's the you're at the.
00:52:12
Speaker 10: Groom's dad, you are going.
00:52:16
Speaker 1: I was like, hey, I'm goody, I'm enjoying. I'm getting sleepy.
00:52:20
Speaker 4: I'm sleepy.
00:52:23
Speaker 1: Up. Can't we hug them? Can't we just hug it out? I'll have a great trip. And she goes, the curtises are hanging, and I belive you, I said, dom struggle.
00:52:31
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, you ever go over? He how long?
00:52:35
Speaker 15: Yeah?
00:52:35
Speaker 1: Well I watched them. I said, look when the curtis is going, I'm gone, and uh we will leave. Yeah. Hey, I'm good. I think we've been great. We've had that sweet little dance you have that was I loved it. We busted to move the boys can stay, you know, because I know they're going to stay in the party till there's no more party left. And I said, damn out and and and then she was like, let me just include not leaving. We will not leave to it's over. So we did. We stayed too. It was struggling, thought so sleepy then and then sherer it was some way. We went back to the room and sure he wants to recap the day she goes, So you're not no way, I said, I'm sorry. I said, my time was it by there? I guess we got back to our room, getting eleven forty five. Oh yeah, something like that.
00:53:21
Speaker 2: Yeah, I wouldn't have been able to make your sin.
00:53:23
Speaker 3: Yeah.
00:53:23
Speaker 1: I heard somebody call. I heard somebody called two am, and I said, I don't do tom. I said. Somebody said, now we're going. We might have an after party now and after. I ain't never seen that in the wedding book. Yeah, here it's out. I could not believe in what I'm doing. I said, you know, because we've done all the things. You know, the first dance, we've done the mother mother son dance. We did the father daughter dance. Yeah yeah, And I was like good and She's like, no, no, you don't get to leave. We can't leave. You're here till till they walked through us and everything and make a big deal. And I thought to myself, I would have eaten differently if I don't I have this kind of time. Yeah, I would have spread it out a little. Look there's all the boys out there. They're all singing and dancing and going crazy. Oh that's great. It was great. So we come back just when I thought we were leaving drama free. What I think to myself, Hey, we've done it. And I made the mistake of thinking I won't really have any big time story other than the little quirky things we've enjoyed.
00:54:24
Speaker 4: No, we got a biggie right before we leave.
00:54:27
Speaker 3: Ricking bubba, ricking bubba.
00:54:31
Speaker 1: Okay, So everything went great. It was wonderful. It was so good to get together and visit and spend time. It's so hard to spend time with adult children. And we got caught up and celebrated the marriage. We're so excited and we're looking forward to the next one. Here in thirty days, we're all having the celebratory brunch at the hotel. We're gonna leave there go downtown one more time. Let Cametastic go to the Empire State Building.
00:54:56
Speaker 2: This is after the Web.
00:54:59
Speaker 1: Everything. We couldn't have been happier. I mean, we're just selling blisters, we're celebrating, we're all loving it. There's I mean, we're we're laughing, having hearty laughs. And so we're standing there and all of a sudden, these two gentlemen approach our table at the brunch, and all of a sudden they look and said, all right, which one of you is? Alex? And uh, we kind of looked around. I thought, is this some kind of joke or something or whatever? Alex and I said, no, sir, no, nobody hey, And they look at Brody. They said you need to come with us. What And I said, what brother is, sir? And he starts looking around and you know, these things happened to Brody all the time. Look, look, can I tell you what's funny and what happened next? You're not gonna believe what happens next. Of all the people you picked that now, you're not gonna believe what happens next, Alex. So so he said, you got some idea on you and your brother's like, uh, and he starts looking around, and so we all start cracking jokes, thinking this is something.
00:55:55
Speaker 10: Put them on.
00:55:56
Speaker 1: So you know, the burgesses, we're going to try to out one line each other. Yeah, and the one liners. And let me tell you what'll stop one liners. The f B I what. They turned around and said, hey, we're with the FBI. And at that point it's like everybody went look, basically, you know what the guy says. Everybody's joking doing one and here's what he they said, and that's all with the one liners. Yeah, and we were like, okay, well serious, this is serious and that's a great So now you're now your mind. Now your mind begins to race, why does the FBI want Brody? And you start thinking you're.
00:56:27
Speaker 2: In a town with actors. See I'm yes, I do too.
00:56:33
Speaker 1: And then all of a sudden, but your mind starts going crazy. And for some reason, the first thought, which Brooks would going to be offended by? What's Brooks done?
00:56:42
Speaker 10: And January?
00:56:44
Speaker 1: Then everybody say what and then you know what? You know we got in my mind? You know, your mind's just racing. Brody is always ordering equipment from everywhere, the cameras and lenses, and I thought, oh, there's some kind of something's happened with yeah, something, and I thought they have come all the way to New York and they they've been and we've been. They've been, we've been, they've been. There's been surveillance on us this whole week looking for and so he says, and he says, he said, yeah, he said, you said you're not Alex, and Bruce's I am not Alex. And so they get the looking at his ID like that and they look, they look at us, they look at his ID, and he goes, okay, and he goes, I just want to show y'all just so you know, I forget exact exact words, but he showed. So there was a missing persons and there's a kid missing and he looks just like Brodie I'm talking about. They show us the pictures and I'm like, oh, okay, he goes, so, y'all can see where we thought this was him. Somebody saw him and called us and said, hey, the kids, the kids at the radio hotel, look and look, and I was and we listen. We're like the FBI shows up and tries to take Brody with him. At the very end, it's some kid Alex and and and and in Brody's face, he stayed relatively calm. He was like, I said, were you he goes. I was a nervous Ragains, And I thought to myself, I know I'm not Alex he goes. You start thinking to yourself, if the FBI decides I'm Alex, it's over, you know, and we're and we're just like, what were you doing? I was, well, I was one lining because I didn't know this was serious, and basically everybody.
00:58:14
Speaker 2: Would have been together kidnapped.
00:58:16
Speaker 1: Listen, everybody, everybody laughed really hard. How they shut down the one because everybody and every one liner, every comedian said, and that's the end of myself serious business. I got no more one liners.
00:58:31
Speaker 8: WHOA.
00:58:33
Speaker 2: Immediately, I think they're after me because I supported Trumps.
00:58:39
Speaker 1: I thought to myself, Biden is known, we're here, he sent there together. Alabama's finally come to New York. But but for what we kind of put together. And then they said, sorry to disrupt y'alls deal. You know you asked for a picture. Yeah, anyway, we get a picture. I didn't know what to do at that point. I said, we need this for the wedding photo. YEA for our photo album, but have a picture of all. But but you know what, they showed it to me. I should, but I don't know they would have let me hand. We could have held with the radio show to find him. But anyway, so y'all know what happened. They've got they've got an a an a and they put it out there the picture.
00:59:14
Speaker 16: Everywhere it's Jason Board, Jason Bourne. When they said it's Jason Bourd, they were all looking at there.
00:59:20
Speaker 1: He is right there, right, Yeah, what happened? Somebody somber alert. Somebody saw our wedding party and called deaf Beyonce.
00:59:26
Speaker 16: He's we see got him.
00:59:28
Speaker 1: The kid got out the kid. But what y'all don't understand is this is a little known fact fact about Brody. He is probably the calmest, most well behaved of the entire clan. But he's for some reason, has run ends with law enforcement. He finds. You heard that time they accused him of still in Blake's car. Yeah, and he had the great line when when he was in his brother's car and his brother, of course had not updeateated his tag and not updetted his insurance, and he asked Brodie to drive his car, so I wouldn't just sit while he was on tour and Brody the great line he had. He was surrounded by least because they thought he'd stole the car, and the guy says, well, tell you one thing. You like, you didn't steal them, but you shore are acting nervous. He goes, well, let me tell you why I'm acting nervous. And he says, it's this nervous thing is He gets in trouble because he said, I get nervous. So I start doing one liners, I start, I start rippling. He goes, I'll tell you why I'm acting a little nervous. I'm seventeen. You just accused me of still an automobile. How to get your blood pressure? He goes, so that's kind of you. It makes you a little bit nervous. And it's the same thing you sure you know. I'm sorry. I didn't know the FB I was going to come after me to I dont understand. There's nobody to prepare for that. It's like, Brody, you're doing it again. But he has more run ins with the law than anybody, and even camera said that. She goes some reason, like if he gets pulled over the law, heays, gets mad at it, and she and I said why, I said, he's the most non criminal one we have. Yeah, and she says it's cause he gets nervous. He starts doing one liners, and so, well, how is the table when the FBI agents, let me tell you that, they looked at me and they said, well, the content gods have been good to you. They have so other than Brody Nearly when arrested by the FBI. Was great week, all right, it went good.
01:01:01
Speaker 16: At the top of the.
01:01:02
Speaker 5: Hour, ricking bubba, ricking bubba.
01:01:06
Speaker 1: And we've had lots of recaps, we've updated you. We thank you for being with us, and we'll get more of your phone calls and we'll we'll get more more stories from the long weekend. Hopefully you enjoyed the best of the show with Helmsey on Friday and the replay on on Monday, And hope you had a good weekend. All right. So uh, here we go.
01:01:27
Speaker 3: Uh.
01:01:27
Speaker 1: There's nothing we love more uh than a frustrated Nick Saban uh. And one thing he really really hates his hypotheticals. And reporters love hypotheticals. They love it, and so anytime he can be asked to hypothetical by a reporter. We're gonna we we love every second of that. Now, is this a current rant? Yeah?
01:01:48
Speaker 6: Yeah, this is This is the current runt about a player and what he thinks of their future and how they'll play and perform.
01:01:54
Speaker 1: And it's it's it's fun. Okay, well, moving forwards next week?
01:02:01
Speaker 9: And who is that? So you're asking me to speculate?
01:02:10
Speaker 17: And I asked to answer a hypothetical question about how some guys are going to perform in the future.
01:02:16
Speaker 9: I don't really know. I mean, I love him. I think he's doing well.
01:02:21
Speaker 17: I know he's working hard to try to improve. He's a good competitor, he'll do everything he can to play his best. But I don't I don't have This is a coke bottle, it's not a crystal ball.
01:02:36
Speaker 9: How do you think of play? Do you know? Do you have any idea? Hard to know.
01:02:44
Speaker 17: It's what we all strive for, though, I mean, we want everybody to play well, and we're going to try to prepare him the best way we can. But that's why you play the games that.
01:02:56
Speaker 2: Straightforward?
01:02:58
Speaker 1: When he goes back on them, how do you think?
01:03:00
Speaker 13: Right?
01:03:01
Speaker 1: That's that that and and it's really right. I mean, you know, you wish the kid well and maybe he will, but there's really no way to know. Uh So, So anyway, that's that that that's always fun with Saban. Uh The another thing we were just discussing about the Lee Corso thing, because I know that I can't let it go and I can't stop unpacking it. I don't understand while we're doing it and and when things like that happened to me, because I'm kind of a logical person and I'm thinking to myself, what gain does College Game Day have of keeping Corso? Certainly understand he's a trademark and he's had good years, but I almost start getting offended over what's happening with Biden, what's happening with Corso? On the fact that people allow this to continue, what's happening Mitch McConnell, fine Stein or whatever last name is the fat Do the people who supposedly love them care about them? And and I'm offended that the people who are doing the programming do y'all not understand that most of us that want to watch something and we're not trying to be insensitive, but we I don't want to I don't think I have to apologize. I don't think any of us have to apologize that. If I'm trying to watch something that is lighthearted as football, I'm in the mode of entertainment and relaxation and enjoyment. And I honestly think that I'm not unreasonable to be to say that. I don't really want to be made uncomfortable. Why do I have to struggle with this guy? Why are y'all putting this burden on me? I mean, and as you said in the break Hamsy, I thought the same thing. So David Pollock's out, but Corso's in. Yeah, it's crazy. Who made that decision?
01:04:47
Speaker 3: Crazy?
01:04:48
Speaker 18: And that's nothing against Corso, that's just the fact. No, No, I'm not what you're talking about. Corso the person.
01:04:52
Speaker 1: Who wasn't struggling with his with his cognitive skills. It was a lot of fun and I enjoyed that, which also makes this worse because now you're messing with the memories, your your case and the Sunshine band now and y'all want y'all won't leave Corso behind the keyboards. Y'all have him out here dancing.
01:05:10
Speaker 18: And I don't see there's there was moments where you could tell he forgot what segment he was in, like, hey, we're not supposed to do that right now, Lee, we do that. Later on there was He's doing this thing that Biden does where he becomes disinterested in what he's actually saying and he just finished.
01:05:28
Speaker 16: Just doesn't finish it. You know, you know, I don't.
01:05:31
Speaker 18: I don't agree with his tast tactics on Dion and that.
01:05:36
Speaker 16: It just stages kind of trails out with no words. It was.
01:05:39
Speaker 1: It was awful to see, don't and everybody we all love the coach, but but goodness, but I'm the person in charge. Okay, do I not have enough the wherewithal to go? I think the Corso train has come into the station, I think, I mean, why do I keep putting him out there? Why do I keep signing him? Do I talk to him prior and come away and go? He can't continue to do this well, I think ruining Kirk Kurbstreeg's life.
01:06:08
Speaker 18: Well, And he was as uncomfortable as any anybody because he usually does a really good job of handling him and he couldn't. He was just speedy made the point. And I think to some extent, all of us, for different reasons have moved away from ESPN to some extent because of their politics, and they're continuous that woke whatever. You know, there's certain things in ball games we can't control. This's all we're gonna watch, okay, But I found myself watching other pregame shows this weekend because of its speedy to too, and I think that's a national thought right now.
01:06:42
Speaker 2: For example, I was pulling up some information on that. There's a story from twenty seventeen, twenty seventeen, thank you, how far that was back pre covid okay, and it's entitled Lee Corso still going on game Day with a little help from his friends, and the whole thing is about him being eighty two at the time.
01:07:03
Speaker 1: What are we doing?
01:07:04
Speaker 2: And that was seventeen, What do we do now?
01:07:09
Speaker 1: And apparently one of our opportunities to do a story today and involves this title Porter Potty Brawl in Pittsburgh at Morgan Walling Country. So did did we get upset about the line at the porter partty? We're just fighting around the porta partty. It's in it. It fills out onto the ground now it starts in the porter. Are you being serious? Yes? I thought you were making a joke. No, okay, it wasn't a flight, but it was, right, Are you being serious?
01:07:41
Speaker 14: Yeah?
01:07:41
Speaker 1: Watch it? Okay?
01:07:42
Speaker 5: All right?
01:07:42
Speaker 19: So so yeah, it's uh wow, I don't think I can use the there's females women. Yeah, the porter throw something down here, there's like a drink thrown at and then it's like, all right, that's it.
01:07:56
Speaker 10: Throw the drink and straw down and then there and then it goes and then it just happens.
01:07:59
Speaker 1: Guy, all right.
01:08:00
Speaker 19: So they're shoving, talking, pushing.
01:08:07
Speaker 1: Cow girls coming out, look coming out that good night.
01:08:14
Speaker 2: Here we got in there.
01:08:17
Speaker 20: And then her friend shows up. Hey blondie means business girl. Oh let me tell you what. The blonde bomber with the cowboy boots. Somebody's down.
01:08:34
Speaker 1: Watch out look, that one just has to go.
01:08:38
Speaker 4: She's going to close it.
01:08:39
Speaker 1: Hit occupied. Oh guys to get her phone out of Oh wow, you talking about catfire? I know who I know.
01:08:49
Speaker 6: The play by play for radio was all over the place, so please set that. So we got a line of poor partties and the fight starts outside. Then the door swings open and the girls in in the in there.
01:08:59
Speaker 2: Using he gets in it.
01:09:01
Speaker 1: Yeah, what happens is these two get into some kind of disagreement outside the porter partties, like speed saying. And then when the fight breaks out, a woman unfortunately makes that moment to walk out of the porter partty or finishing her business. But that opens the door and they go into the port porter partty fighting. I don't know if it's attempt to put one of his head in that toilet. But see now this breaks out. Everything's outside the porter partty until right now. Now now, cowgirls, she's then the fight goes in. Now, hope, there's a hold my drink. And this girl is not very effective. But when the blonde bomber shows up here she comes. Now she's effective. She is effective. She means business. I mean ponytail, not even flinching, cowboy boots, kicking, punching, grabbing and slamming the door and then the slamming of the door. And then, let me tell you something, somebody's got to go there easy. That girl just blue it up up and let right, let me tell you what. When the blonde bombers showed up, she meant business.
01:10:06
Speaker 10: She really did.
01:10:06
Speaker 1: I don't know whose team she's on, but she went crazy.
01:10:09
Speaker 10: You want her on your team?
01:10:10
Speaker 1: She was a game changer.
01:10:11
Speaker 10: She was really was.
01:10:12
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, you wouldn't want to roll with her aggressive?
01:10:15
Speaker 3: You know what?
01:10:15
Speaker 1: I you know what we found out these particular cowboy boots, they were more than just stylish. They were functional. M Yeah, I've heard they were made for walking. These are made for kicking, These are made for These boots are made for kicking. The wow, did you say the porter partty fell over? He was just saying that the fight fell in back out. I was hoping it would fell over for you. No, let me tell you something that right there that I love. Hold my drink? Yeah, yeah, big girls out and I about pink boots, said, what in the world's going on? I'll tell you though, the first girl world I can't figure who against Yeah, the first girl when she says hold my drink, though she doesn't really accomplish much. She goes in there and and uh and advisor couldn't. I mean, I just don't help. That's what you're gonna do.
01:11:12
Speaker 10: Not helpful. Just get out there, sir.
01:11:14
Speaker 16: That was not helpful.
01:11:15
Speaker 1: Here's what I'm with you. Is the blonde bomber is she just taking this on saying this is a battle royal, It's me against everybody. She's with her right there. Yeah, a girl right there, the one that's hollering.
01:11:28
Speaker 10: She rescues her friend.
01:11:30
Speaker 1: Yes, the one that's wearing a dully.
01:11:32
Speaker 21: Yes.
01:11:33
Speaker 10: Is that what that is?
01:11:34
Speaker 2: It looks like grandmother's table.
01:11:37
Speaker 10: Yes.
01:11:38
Speaker 6: She sees her friend being attacked by two people and she comes in.
01:11:42
Speaker 1: It's kind of like that night when I thought y'all were getting attacked. Big misunderstanding. Yeah, uh the uh so okay, so all.
01:11:50
Speaker 19: Right, Wow, they're in the port just fighting. I've heard of fighting in a phone booth, but this is different.
01:11:56
Speaker 1: I will say the blonde bomber she got two people out by the hair.
01:11:59
Speaker 16: She really did, and at one.
01:12:01
Speaker 1: Times three people's kick right here has got and these boots are made for a kick egg. Yeah, how about she's done girls right in the face. And I will have to say this. There's one thing I can't get out of my mind. What song were they missing?
01:12:16
Speaker 11: Yeah?
01:12:16
Speaker 1: I wish you didn't have so much cussin And I hear it.
01:12:18
Speaker 16: Yeah, thank you?
01:12:20
Speaker 10: So there, Oh the girl's not the song?
01:12:23
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's what I'm talking about.
01:12:25
Speaker 6: Yeah, we couldn't play that our language.
01:12:28
Speaker 16: I'm thinking of Morgan cust take right.
01:12:30
Speaker 9: I'm thinking at.
01:12:30
Speaker 18: Least his songs off in the background we can know. But I was looking girls were really this could be titled about twenty of his difference.
01:12:37
Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know. I want to show this to you too. Communally, new thing is now for some reason five and six that have become seven and eight. But the uh I've noticed that you like said they'll all get active in five and six. All just sit there. Do you think these people want to talk about Morgan Walling? Yeah, all these people, because it blew up when we start talking about the fight. Either we're off the air somewhere or somebody's cousins are in this fight. But goes, I've never seen so much in them explode over over a fight video Answer one. You want you want to see what's going on? Who do you think you think somebody in Alabama or Shelby.
01:13:09
Speaker 16: I'd like to hear them tell us their favorite Morgan.
01:13:11
Speaker 1: So I'm gonna go to Shebbyville, Tennessee. I think they for some reason, I think they may know more. Hello, Hello, person, person and ship, Shebbyville, Tennessee. What what what are you bringing to the table? What's going on?
01:13:25
Speaker 3: Well?
01:13:25
Speaker 19: I was going to tell you the Roper Stomper girls, that's her mother.
01:13:29
Speaker 1: She saving her mother. I've just seen the text here.
01:13:31
Speaker 10: Yes, that's the daughter.
01:13:35
Speaker 1: So the blonde bomber is the daughter of the other woman that is in the fight.
01:13:40
Speaker 10: Yes, a girl that eight.
01:13:43
Speaker 1: There's already Halloween costumes going around for the roper Stomper.
01:13:47
Speaker 16: Is that what we're going with?
01:13:48
Speaker 1: I like blonde bomber, but you're saying roper Stumper is whatever is good? Are these boots? You matrix rhymes?
01:13:55
Speaker 10: So these are That's a mother and daughter right there.

Speaker 1: There's not there's nothing that says a mother daughter out in quite out in quite lot mama and shorty shorts.
01:14:19

01:14:40
Speaker 1: Okay, so back at work, back at work on Tuesday. Back and work on Tay. So you and your daughter went to the Morgan? Was that fun? Shall have a good time? We sure did.
01:14:50
Speaker 10: Don't open your phone, yeah you'll see it.
01:14:55
Speaker 1: Apparently, friend, you haven't been around social media this weekend?
01:14:59
Speaker 4: Did you have a good.
01:15:08
Speaker 16: Daughter?
01:15:08
Speaker 3: Really?
01:15:09
Speaker 16: I'm impressed with the daughter.
01:15:10
Speaker 4: Well, how about this.
01:15:10
Speaker 1: If you're beating at my mama, that's why you gotta know if mama started it, I don't know how to started.
01:15:16
Speaker 10: You go to the rescue, You go next level on that.
01:15:18
Speaker 2: Somebody three their hat down and there here we go.
01:15:23
Speaker 1: Yeah, you know there's this girl, she's on social media.
01:15:25
Speaker 4: That's my daughter.
01:15:27
Speaker 1: So it was you gonna get to catch up a little bit. We slammed a few people on the ground, our stories on the way homeward and almost got flushed. She's got to go. Yeah. So and then then then now let's go to the daughter at work. Did you get to go with your mom and the boy tomorrow?
01:15:45
Speaker 2: And we had a ball?
01:15:46
Speaker 21: I did.
01:15:46
Speaker 1: What happened? Well, well, what moment was beating up in porter party and I came.
01:15:50
Speaker 2: To the rescue. That's so sweet.
01:15:51
Speaker 1: I bet she appreciated that. I feel so bad for her see five.
01:16:00
Speaker 6: So I don't know, but oh my goodness, so alright, So I just I just searched. Okay, I don't know if it's a thing or not, but that's the costume right there. I just searched the Roper Stomper costume.
01:16:12
Speaker 1: Really is there? So is this a really old video? How can that already be out?
01:16:15
Speaker 10: I don't know, it's not that.
01:16:16
Speaker 16: It's not that old.
01:16:17
Speaker 10: Okay, And she's out doing interviews with like Barstool and stuff, the Stompers.
01:16:23
Speaker 1: Oh I bet that should be Yeah, there you go, so see you go get famous like cash me outside. I think the UFC is talking about the word I keep thinking I was classic. Yeah, are you famous?
01:16:34
Speaker 21: Mor Well?
01:16:34
Speaker 1: Me and my mom got a brawl in Portland and Morgan walling content. We'll take your phone calls and X we'll be right back.
01:16:40
Speaker 5: No ricking bubba, ricking bubba.
01:16:48
Speaker 1: The two weddings now done, and of course Sherry and I both have some pictures on our social media. If you want to see some of that too, you can if you are interested. And now we move on to wedding number two coming up in uh October. So all right, a couple of things when we are working our way back. Let's start first. You know, the whole thing about politicians and disasters. You know, they always use these as a platform to get up and to use their agenda. You know, if somebody gets shot, then of course it's always Now that I've got your attention, let me tell you why guns are evil. And of course, now the climate change cult, the climate emerging now. Now, now how they're tying power lines falling and being still live onto areas where no one's cut fire breaks and causing fires to climate is still a bit of a reach to me. Uh But anyway, here is the president always pushing it, and on Fox News, a Fox News host just snaps on the air saying, I just can't.
01:17:53
Speaker 6: Take this anymore, right, Yeah, And now he's the hurricane that went through Florida. He's he's landed in Maui and ranted, and now he's doing it again.
01:18:02
Speaker 21: Okay, two and a half years I've flown over more land burned to the ground as a consequence of wildfires than occupy the state or the entire land of the state of Maryland from down in New Mexico and Alabama, all of it in Montana, and around.
01:18:18
Speaker 1: It's been devastating this part.
01:18:20
Speaker 23: Now we can get into the stats, we could actually talk about the effects of natural disasters, their frequency, and their severity, and actually put it into historical context and give you actual intelligence on whether or not this is an increasing problem in the United States. But that's not The point that I think is important to make in this moment is that I'm sick and tired of politicians standing on the graves of dead children in the case of school children, school shootings, or natural disasters where towns are burnt to the ground or destroyed by hurricane, and using it as a moment to google and pimp for their politics. It's beyond grotesque to land into a disaster zone where people have been destroyed and to say, you.
01:18:56
Speaker 5: Know what should be the solution here?
01:18:57
Speaker 16: You know what the problem is.
01:18:58
Speaker 23: You haven't given me enough power.
01:19:00
Speaker 2: I'm at science.
01:19:01
Speaker 12: No, your climate change chicken little has turned into a religion. Is not to say there's not science and some of these elements for us to discuss, but you've turned it into a religion. And you are the same people that can't sound an alarm in Lahina, and you're asking us to give you the power and money to turn over to you the global thermostat. I'm sorry, but you don't have the competency to run anything, much less to stand in these moments of destruction and say, the real problem here is you haven't given me enough power preach I.
01:19:31
Speaker 16: Had, I mean I.
01:19:36
Speaker 1: So, yeah, he makes a point that we made, and I remember the late Walter E. Williams would make the point about you probably don't you know, you don't give the job of putting out fires to the arsoniste And that was back when we were going to hand off all of our health care to the government. And I really have never heard this point too. So we're going to hand the planet's thermist that to these incompetent routes. What have they what has the government ever shown us on the resume? You go, you know what, let's give them that job of anything, of any job, and they want to handle the climate and using these.
01:20:16
Speaker 2: Is again, you know, pretty limiting documents we have here about the federal government what they can and can't do, and we cover what they can do. Everything else left of the states.
01:20:26
Speaker 1: Unfortunately, sorry, yeah, unfortunately, because of I don't know how we've let it happen again. Anthony Fauci is slowly but surely making his way back into the light. Yeah.
01:20:37
Speaker 2: Can I say one more point on this? If we truly have a climate emergency, the first place we could cut down is the number of vacations bidens one. Right, He's been on vacation forty percent of his presidency. Correct, And you know he's he's preaching about it. He's got more power to stop it, and hey, put everything on the government. Tell him to pull it over and get out of the car. If he really believes that he can make the biggest change of anybody immediately, and he's not willing.
01:21:06
Speaker 5: To do it.
01:21:06
Speaker 2: So is it really true?
01:21:10
Speaker 1: We we're going to put these people in charge of the comment the adult stand up, give me more power. I need to work on the climate, all right. So I don't know why we let Fauci say anything. Let's go to three B first.
01:21:25
Speaker 2: Oh, we're prosecuting him.
01:21:26
Speaker 1: Yeah, So Fauci is now going to do what has been bizarre and you know politicians and people like him have always done. He's going to say he did not recommend shutting the country down in twenty twenty two. He's going to say that. But then we're gonna flash back to twenty twenty when he said he did.
01:21:41
Speaker 2: So this is where we have tape. Yeah, this is why we this got ones and zero.
01:21:46
Speaker 1: This is why we have a hard time following fouts. You know, when you we didn't know who you were. We used to pay attention to your press conferences. Now you've almost become a comedy bit now, so here he is disagreeing with himself.
01:21:57
Speaker 7: First of all, I didn't recommend locking anything down. The record will show Neil that we didn't recommend shutting everything down. I recommended to the President that we shut the country down, and that was very difficult decision because I knew it would have serious economic consequences, which it did.
01:22:18
Speaker 2: Still trying to get out from until so was The first two clips were from twenty twenty three to twenty twenty two, and then October of twenty twenties when he recommended shutting the government down. According to his interview, I didn't realize it in his own work.
01:22:33
Speaker 1: I didn't realize it would be so oh.
01:22:34
Speaker 2: I did tell you I thought it might be a little more of a gray area. I didn't know it would be so direct. So now work that we need to play that like once a day right after the National Landage, right.
01:22:44
Speaker 1: So now, and we're not gonna play the whole thing. But he why are we caring what he says about masks because you know some places are doing mass mandates. I'll tell you that. I'm going to have time for it here. I want to get into this. But I was surprised because I went to probably one of the most liberal places on the planet and they're not They're not freaking out in New York City like they did in the past. So if you can't get New York City to freak out over this variant, whatever, where we are now that they're even realizing you we're not doing that again. I saw very few masks in your city, which was surprising.
01:23:17
Speaker 2: Let's go back to the pandemic. The people who really come out of this thing looking like clowns. Okay, Fauci is one of them. The governor of New York Cuomo. Remember, he even wrote a book on how well he had managed the situation before he had he was removed from office. Yeah, I mean, what you're talking about clown award that has to be number one.
01:23:37
Speaker 1: I tell you it got me on Quotemo, Well got me on quotmo is, Hey, I led to the death of lots of old people. I will give you a pass on that. Yeah, I've been inappropriate one with women.
01:23:47
Speaker 2: You got to go.
01:23:48
Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean both of those are bad. How about both of those are bad? How about how about leading to the unnecessary death of older people?
01:23:55
Speaker 2: It is bad to the worst case scenario would be to send COVID patients to a nursing home.
01:24:01
Speaker 1: And that's what he did. If you look at our numbers of deaths, Cuomo added some that shouldn't be on there. No, those people shouldn't he put them in a bond. I mean that was we all kind of knew in the beginning that people.
01:24:15
Speaker 2: It was an American crosses all right, you got that right?
01:24:17
Speaker 1: Do you remember this when like some of the celebs were like kind of falling in love with him, wanting to marry him and all that.
01:24:22
Speaker 2: Oh, his daily update? I remember it was such. I mean, I don't know how his arm stayed in joint patting himself on the battle.
01:24:28
Speaker 1: You know, man, I will come back eight six six, We be big as the number. What a clown, I know, So surely we're not listening to faut you again.
01:24:38
Speaker 14: Are we.
01:24:38
Speaker 1: It didn't like me, anybody was.
01:24:40
Speaker 9: I was.
01:24:41
Speaker 1: I was pleasantly surprised that New York City was kind of like, yeah, if you look.
01:24:46
Speaker 2: Behind him, Ran Paul's right there behind.
01:24:48
Speaker 1: Him somewhere, you know, making sure he's kind of become the nemesis, hadn't it.
01:24:53
Speaker 5: We'll be right back ricking bubba, ricking bubba, and it he's.
01:25:00
Speaker 1: Seeing in Finally ask him the science of the mask that it. You know, I told you guys this early early on that that I had some friends or have friends that are pharmacists and one of former pharmacists, and in the very beginning they were saying, these people are talking about mask as if you're dealing with bacteria or pollen, and you're not. You're dealing with a virus that is so tiny I can't even give a description of its tininess. And uh and and Adler showed you the size difference from a piece of pollen all the way down to this virus. And these these pharmacists are saying, these masks will not protect you from that. It's it's it's it's it's lunacy. Yeah. Now when it comes to bacteria and pollen, yeah, yeah, so so anyway.
01:25:49
Speaker 2: One size fits all in the old microbial.
01:25:52
Speaker 1: World, right, and uh and so. But but Fauci appears that he's never letting go of the mask. He will not let go that they are not very effective. Now, first of all, like you said, let's say that you think the storebaught masks would do the job. I mean, you're just convinced of it. You still have to wear them, right, You have to wear them, correct, any mask, you have to wear it, right. Yeah, So anyway, here comes to CNN, who it's almost like CNN is tired of the mask, which you know that we'd ever see that. So here we go.
01:26:19
Speaker 14: I would hope that if in fact we get to the point where the volume of cases as such and organizations like the CDC recommend CDC doesn't mandate anything, I mean recommends that people wear masks, I would hope that they abide by the recommendation and take into account the risk to themselves and to their families. And again we're not talking there forcing anybody to do anything.
01:26:45
Speaker 15: Totally understood, there is a perception out there by many how many I don't know, that they don't work, and that the data concludes that they didn't work. In the first go round respond to that on masks.
01:26:59
Speaker 10: Yeah, well that's not so.
01:27:00
Speaker 14: I mean when you're talking about at the population level, that the data are less strong than knowing that if you look on a situation as an individual protecting themselves or protecting them from spreading it, there's no doubt that masks work. Different studies give different percentages of advantage of wearing studies, but there's no doubt that the weight of the studies, and there have been many studies indicate the benefit.
01:27:26
Speaker 2: Of wearing masks.
01:27:28
Speaker 15: I'm going to refer to one of them. You've heard about it before. I heard about it from a number of radio callers. Brett Stevens in The Times talked about Cochrane put that on the screen. The most rigorous and comprehensive analysis of scientific studies conducted on the efficacy of masks for reducing the spread of respiratory illness, including COVID nineteen, was published last month. Its conclusions, said Tom Jefferson, the Oxford epidemiologist who is the lead author, were unambiguous. There is just no evidence that they masks make any difference, he told the journalist Demasi full stop. But wait, hold on, what about the N ninety five masks as opposed to the lower quality surgical or cloth masks, makes no difference, none of it. He said, Well, what about the studies that initially persuaded policymakers to impose mask mandates. They were convinced by non randomized studies, flawed observational studies. How do we get beyond that finding of that particular review.
01:28:26
Speaker 14: Yeah, but there are other studies, Michael, that show at an individual level, for individual, when you're talking about the effect total on the epidemic or the pandemic as a whole, the data are less strong. But when you talk about as an individual basis of someone protecting themselves, for protecting themselves from spreading it to others, there's no doubt that there are many studies that show that there is an advantage. When you took at the broad population level, like the Cockman study, the data are less firm with regard to the effect on the overall endemic, But we're not talking about that.
01:29:02
Speaker 1: We're talking about.
01:29:03
Speaker 14: An individual's effect on their own safety. That's a bit different than the broad population level.
01:29:10
Speaker 1: That's that Fauci double talk the world.
01:29:12
Speaker 2: That's the same thing that he said in front of Congress when he said we were not doing gain a function. We were just taking these viruses and moving them ahead six steps. But it wasn't gain a function because some criteria was missing. You know, you know what I'm saying. He's he's he's given you the old Fauci double talk on and what the guys got him dead to ride on the study and it was a big study and it was done and it and that was the evidence. He can't admit he was wrong.
01:29:40
Speaker 10: If it doesn't work in the population, it doesn't.
01:29:44
Speaker 19: Work in the individual. If it doesn't work in the individuals, it doesn't work in the popul He's.
01:29:48
Speaker 2: Like saying, we add numbers together and the numbers are are right, but the total is wrong. You can't you can't say that. I just text you following that size.
01:29:57
Speaker 1: I just text you a picture. Let me know when you have it. So somebody has text me and they saw this in Washington, d C. And see when Fauci won't help, Okay, and he's not going to because that means you have todmit he was wrong. Right, and uh but see, I think.
01:30:12
Speaker 2: If if all of the scins Fauci.
01:30:14
Speaker 1: I think if pharmacists who know the size difference of tiny viruses versus palling in the bacteria. If they know that, shouldn't fauci and I think all this was, all of this was under the I want to look like I'm doing something. I want to look like I'm giving you something that's gonna save your life if you'll just follow this. And and what happened, though, what happened is if you didn't, if you were leery about the vaccine, you were calling an anti vaxer, which that's not an antibacterer, somebody who doesn't think that you should have any vaccine ever.
01:30:42
Speaker 9: Uh.
01:30:42
Speaker 1: And then if you weren't wear the mask, you were mean you didn't care about other people, the pandemic you were if you didn't those two things. Of course, now scientifically we now know that none of those were true. Uh, but look at this, This is what it spawns. Somebody saw this in Washington, d C. At the hotel. Someone is swimming in a mass That's funny, swimming in a mask, I mean swimming.
01:31:08
Speaker 2: I mean, look, maybe they have maybe they have some other issues. I hope it's not.
01:31:14
Speaker 1: Maybe we got some other issue, by the way, Maybe that's true. Maybe they're allergic to chlorine, and I don't know how big chlorine is. All right, so so let me let me say this. We just had Fauci say that they that you're right. It shows it didn't really work on the mass population as far as the pandemic and its life. But it helped individuals. But the population is all of you have said it's made up of individuals. I mean, I mean, how that number happens is.
01:31:47
Speaker 2: If it's you helped individuals, but it didn't help the big.
01:31:50
Speaker 1: Pegu Well, Rick and Bubba, you're made up of Rick and Bubba both wore masks. Bubba it was effective. For Rick, it was well, they got the same mass.
01:32:00
Speaker 2: Come, I mean that does even that means there's something else in the equation.
01:32:05
Speaker 1: Wow wow wow.
01:32:06
Speaker 10: Plus we were told mask to help other people.
01:32:09
Speaker 19: And so now when I go to a place where if somebody's wearing a mask and I'm not, now I feel like a jerk.
01:32:15
Speaker 10: And and that's it's all. It's all fake. Well, but I feel like I'm like the bad.
01:32:19
Speaker 1: Person or something. But this has gotten to this has gotten to the point. Okay, this has gotten to the point. It's just called getting sick. We we don't. We don't.
01:32:29
Speaker 2: We haven't cured the common cold.
01:32:31
Speaker 9: We don't.
01:32:31
Speaker 1: We don't cater the whole wide world. When a stomach virus is running rampid through the school, or when the flu is running rampid through a community or through a school, they as individuals make adjustments here and there, and you you work on it, you get on treatments and and and all this kind of stuff. We we are, we are no longer in the We don't know what this is. Oh my gosh, it's the end of time. And and and every other day you get to call off somebody you knew is on a ventilator and to pretend that we're still there. It's just not true. And uh and and you know, and and I mean, it's it's gonna be around. It's always gonna be around, like we said. And and I will. I'm kind of thankful because, like I said, if I can go to New York City and not see pandemonium, and I'll even talked to some of the New Yorkers and they say, yeah, we got a lot of cases here in the city, but there's also eight million of us, right, so so what I mean, No, we're not having any kind of overrun of hospitals or anything like that. And and I even heard from them they're not going back, which that's about as liberal as you can get, you know. And and and I'll tell you what they don't like, Ima taine, what's broke a lot of New Yorkers of this. They don't like losing their jobs. Yeah, they don't like not being able to buy food because because they all got to stay in doors wear. Yeah, that'll that'll wake you up from it. Yeah, we'll be back last seven one of this hour, eight six six. We be big as the number will also look I love this headline, faut you can sermply won't comply if asking recommendation returned, you know why, because they won't. You're correct they won't. So don't even bring that up. We'll be right back.
01:34:12
Speaker 5: Ricking bubba, ricking bubba.
01:34:17
Speaker 1: This run this burning man thing. You know, I think if we want to break down the burning man thing, it's really no more complicated, not that it's not creepy, but it's no more complicated. Then we've got a bunch of people that they're bringing back paganism. I mean, these are this is like pagan religions. You know, worshiping the sun. Complete decadence. Uh, there's always a real strong sexual deviancy to it. All that's been around since every pagan religion. You gotta have that, and it's all about anything goes. It's all flesh and decadence and worship of of whatever you want to worship, and paganism run wild. But it does seem that the Burning Man gathering that, even though God has not wiped it off the face of the planet, he seems to hassle them a little bit.
01:35:11
Speaker 2: Every you had sandstorm and all that kind of stuff. This year it was floods.
01:35:16
Speaker 1: I don't know if you saw that, what seventy three thousand people stranded and pouring monsoon type rains.
01:35:24
Speaker 2: They couldn't they couldn't get out to begin with. Some of them broke out and tried to get out anyway, got stuck. They're still getting out today, I guess.
01:35:32
Speaker 6: So it's so they lifted the bands and now they're letting people try to travel out.
01:35:36
Speaker 1: I guess they were. So you just had to stay out there and weather the rain pretty much mud.
01:35:42
Speaker 2: Yeah, like an RV plowing through mud.
01:35:45
Speaker 1: Is you know that the burning Man thing we call it on the Ricky Mubbys Show. There's certain events and stories that we called head tilters. We just kind of tilt our head and go, well, how about that, Well, how about that? How about your little how about a bunch of pagans gather? They are out in the desert, and.
01:36:03
Speaker 2: How do they do they do they lease that land or who owns I mean, sayut in the desert. I know it's probably not real bad.
01:36:10
Speaker 10: The government owns it. It's US government land.
01:36:12
Speaker 1: So so what do they get? Buy a permit for it?
01:36:15
Speaker 19: They get a permit and the whole thing is nothing, leave nothing behind. So they supposedly are supposed to leave an empty desert behind them.
01:36:24
Speaker 1: But there's stuff they build. How do they leave it?
01:36:27
Speaker 10: Right, They're supposed to bring it. They're supposed to take it all back out.
01:36:29
Speaker 1: Now. I know you stopped going out there once you got married, right, but I mean done my burning man, It's uh. We just saw footage like Chris Rock was there or something, and he had had to be loaded up. Now we can't play with You've.
01:36:45
Speaker 19: Got You've got tons of celebrities going, you got venture capitalists. It's really people pretending to be bohemian from from the most part. From what I can see, it's expensive to get there. You have to pay for everything, uh when you're there, But there's it's supposed to be, you know, no money. But this whole thing is built on money and it has to be. But of course it's such a farce. But I don't understand why people go. It seems miserably dusty or miserably muddy or hot.
01:37:13
Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it's extreme weather.
01:37:16
Speaker 1: It's almost like sometimes you don't really know what you're looking. Is this a neck in and afraid marathon?
01:37:23
Speaker 3: You know?
01:37:23
Speaker 1: But then you realize, oh no, no, this is naked and unafraid. This is just like Greg said, who wants to be go nasty? I mean, I don't like to be I don't like to be uncomfortably. I don't like my hygiene to be in question for any period. Yeah, I can't imagine that. But sometimes worshiping pagan gods and all that's kind of down it is.
01:37:49
Speaker 2: But Speedy, I'm not with you. With all these weird looking mechanical things they ride around on. How indy world do they get that in and out that doesn't fit in an r V?
01:38:00
Speaker 19: Where do you get people taking trailers out? Look at my art exposition, whatever it is.
01:38:05
Speaker 2: Yeah, most of them i've seen are not showing off a something else.
01:38:10
Speaker 1: Yes, I mean if they I mean, but it seems like to me because you could get away with the same type stuff. I know, it's not as pleasant now, so maybe that that would be the turn off. Couldn't you take this same celebration like the San Francisco and you go much nicer weather, much much nicer in the desert? Yeah, I just I don't. I don't see that. But anyway, so apparently a mine soon hit them this year and it led to a lot of stuff. Yeah, don't they lie opal on fire?

01:40:08
Speaker 1: It seems like the same kind of It's exactly where my mind is. It seems like the same marketing a mountain to climb didn't it. Look, I think I'd rather try to market that. Oh my goodness. What in the world who wants to do that? We know, you know how we love traffic jams. It's almost like they choose seven hour traffic jams trying to get out.
01:40:27
Speaker 7: You know.
01:40:27
Speaker 1: It's almost like we're fearing that our whole economy and society will turn into this, and they're choosing to.
01:40:33
Speaker 2: Do Yeah, I know, I know, now, Rick, keep in mind, they don't buy or sell anything. Everything during this event is bordered. Sure, it's either trade or a gift.

01:13:56
Speaker 22: Wow, So that's the mom, don't is the mom blonde bomber or what is it the daughter? That's the that's the classy mom and daughter right there there, that's the mom hollering.

Speaker 1: There's not there's nothing that says a mother daughter out in quite out in quite lot mama and shorty shorts.
01:14:19
Speaker 10: Right, you know what I mean?
01:14:20

Speaker 1: Good that's mama ready for the Morgan. Granted there's not.
01:14:33
Speaker 4: Stumper the we.
01:14:35
Speaker 10: Go and so yeah, the mom just I guess started arguing with with pink top.
01:38:38
Speaker 10: Get around it.
01:38:39
Speaker 1: It's not called lighting, old pal but that all right?
01:38:44
Speaker 16: So also like a good fire, like a good fire, show up just for that part.
01:38:50
Speaker 8: You know.
01:38:51
Speaker 2: The thing it's always been curious to me is how they get their You know, they're organized in a circle if you see it from above, I mean, but it looks like it's actually laid out, you know, in some kind of organized way.
01:39:03
Speaker 1: But wow, it's weird looking. Illuminais involved, sure, yeah, all over? How do they I mean, do they have food trucks? I mean, what what's should you know?
01:39:13
Speaker 9: That.
01:39:13
Speaker 1: It's like they're saying that, like it was this old arts, it is commercialized now.
01:39:17
Speaker 19: People making money, right, yes, selling VIP packages for twenty grand, and it's just I'm here, I took the picture, I went and let me tell you about it.
01:39:26
Speaker 1: My favorite is people who make lots of money off convincing people that they're coming to protest lots of money. Yes, I past you for finding video we can play.
01:39:37
Speaker 10: It's really hard today.
01:39:38
Speaker 1: You want to come out there and you want to be anti capitalism, I too it for twenty grand. We'll make it happen.
01:39:43
Speaker 10: I mean, it is a mess though, it's a it's a traffic jam of r vs.
01:39:46
Speaker 16: It'll get that.
01:39:48
Speaker 1: You wouldn't even like to v there.
01:39:50
Speaker 10: Keep me away from that.
01:39:52
Speaker 1: What is the draw to this? Gos? How'd you go into car wash after that?
01:39:57
Speaker 2: You got plenty of food?
01:39:58
Speaker 9: You know?
01:39:59
Speaker 1: Yeah, I get it's the same people that have to market this. Maybe this is who they hired to keep putting corso on the Yeah, we're already tracking with.
01:40:07
Speaker 16: I was tracking with.
01:40:43
Speaker 1: Well, I've seen the outfit. I've seen the outfits.
01:40:46
Speaker 2: I know what they're Yeah, I think we know.
01:40:49
Speaker 1: I know how you got that sandwich, ma'am. I hope, I hope they havels were have not money.
01:41:01
Speaker 10: There is money though people. It's really it's so fake. Yes, absolutely, my goodness.
01:41:08
Speaker 1: I tell you what, imagine want this sandwich?
01:41:16
Speaker 2: Well you.
01:41:18
Speaker 1: Not that, not that much. H We're showing footage now, like people being stuck and just you come out in.
01:41:25
Speaker 16: The middle of nowhere.
01:41:27
Speaker 1: An extra day and let everybody get out of that. Yeah, I mean, if you want to, if you want to go, and you know what, if you need somebody to.
01:41:33
Speaker 2: Help pull you out though. Everybody's going, Hey, wait a minute.
01:41:36
Speaker 1: Do they not find it funny that they get up and worship the sun and the monsoon comes? Yeah? Yeah, it's like the sun God didn't hear them.
01:41:43
Speaker 10: It's like God's real or something.
01:41:45
