Practical Growth is Evolving Into Something New...

WEBVTT
00:00:01.441 --> 00:00:39.878
Welcome to Newscar.
00:00:39.878 --> 00:00:44.259
Hello, hello, hello everybody.
00:00:44.259 --> 00:00:54.189
I bet this is a voice that you never thought that you would hear again, but lo and behold, Hello friends, I am back.
00:00:54.189 --> 00:00:56.292
It has been a while.
00:00:56.292 --> 00:01:05.051
If you've been subscribed for some time, you will probably remember this as the Practical Growth Podcast with EB Johnson.
00:01:05.051 --> 00:01:12.126
It's been over a year since the last episode I released, I think, and a lot has changed.
00:01:12.126 --> 00:01:23.453
A lot has changed since then, both in my life and in my work and in with what I want to share with you, especially as it comes to this podcast.
00:01:24.019 --> 00:01:31.460
Now, whoa, whoa, whoa I can already hear some of you kind of you know screaming at the phone or wherever you're listening to this podcast.
00:01:31.460 --> 00:01:33.605
Are you changing the podcast?
00:01:33.605 --> 00:01:34.805
Yes and no.
00:01:34.805 --> 00:01:45.753
Practical growth is going to become Nooska, which is my newest project, and I know a lot of you probably wonder why that change.
00:01:45.753 --> 00:01:48.927
It's just come to that point.
00:01:49.489 --> 00:01:58.201
When I started Practical Growth, it was about personal development, it was about coaching and it was about mental health, especially where trauma was concerned.
00:01:58.201 --> 00:02:14.961
Right, and while those things are still important to me, I've realized that I want to create something bigger and something that reflects all of me, not just that one-sided kind of experience of who I am and the work that I do, you know.
00:02:14.961 --> 00:02:16.043
I want to show you the rest.
00:02:16.043 --> 00:02:24.610
I want to show you EB the writer, EB the artist, EB the storyteller and, most importantly, I want to be able to share your stories as well.
00:02:24.610 --> 00:02:36.218
So I'll be reintroducing this podcast under the new name Nusca Illuminating the Darkness.
00:02:36.218 --> 00:02:39.707
Now, that name is really important to me for a couple of different reasons.
00:02:39.707 --> 00:02:44.787
For those who know me well, you'll know my passion for history, especially ancient history, and Nusca happens to be the god of illumination.
00:02:44.787 --> 00:02:46.191
In ancient Mesopotamia.
00:02:46.191 --> 00:02:51.981
He was the god that held the lantern against the darkness, and that's kind of what I want this podcast to be.
00:02:51.981 --> 00:02:53.604
That's certainly what it represents to me.
00:02:53.604 --> 00:03:13.603
It's kind of an island, a beacon of something brighter, something better in a world that has more or less become really, really chaotic, and I ultimately hope that, you know, going from practical growth and trauma and these fraught relationships to Nooska, I hope it will be that illumination for you.
00:03:13.603 --> 00:03:20.561
So, from here on out, practical growth will become Nooska, and Nooska is going to be a space for storytelling.
00:03:20.621 --> 00:03:39.497
Both fiction, history, myth and the unexpected will cover some current events, will cover some strange stories, some strange tales, and all of them are going to have one thing in common they're going to carry a thread of hope or a thread of optimism, or maybe a thread of dissociation.
00:03:39.497 --> 00:03:46.200
If the need comes to it, gums to it.
00:03:46.200 --> 00:03:58.312
Some episodes will share real tales from the past, others might dive into fiction or poetry, or who knows where the road goes, and I'll also be weaving in some of my art and personal reflections, giving you a more creative, honest and expansive experience than I ever have before.
00:03:58.312 --> 00:04:01.144
Just wait, you're going to be excited about this one.
00:04:01.144 --> 00:04:09.884
I want you to think of this new version of this of my work as kind of like gathering around a fire.
00:04:09.884 --> 00:04:16.869
Sometimes we're going to laugh, sometimes we might cry, but we're always going to leave with a little more light than we came in.
00:04:17.329 --> 00:04:34.244
This is also the official relaunch of my Patreon, which is going to give you many different ways to both support me, to interact with the podcast and to get a behind the scenes look at everything that's been going on in my life and with this new project.
00:04:34.244 --> 00:04:42.677
If you'd like to be a part of that community, you can head to patreoncom, slash nooska, and there you'll find more of my writing.
00:04:42.677 --> 00:04:43.579
You'll find poetry.
00:04:43.579 --> 00:04:50.012
I'm going to be sharing my in progress novels and providing some ARC copies for some of my followers.
00:04:50.012 --> 00:04:53.084
There's all kinds of good stuff paintings behind the scenes.
00:04:53.766 --> 00:04:55.269
It's going to be a really, really fun time.
00:04:55.269 --> 00:05:09.726
So if you want some conversations you're not going to hear anywhere else and you want to get to know more about me and the Nooska podcast, head over to patreoncom, slash Nooska and for everyone else, welcome, or welcome back.
00:05:09.726 --> 00:05:12.535
I'm so glad that you're here for this new chapter.
00:05:12.535 --> 00:05:19.872
The next episode will be the first official story under the Nooska banner and I cannot wait to share it with you.
00:05:19.872 --> 00:05:25.031
This has been a labor of love long in the making and I think you're really going to enjoy it.
00:05:25.031 --> 00:05:28.880
So here's to illuminating the darkness together.
00:05:28.880 --> 00:05:39.324
You.
