O TYM ODCINKU
Christian leaders can do the right thing for the wrong reason. Jonah's story reminds us that outward obedience is not the same as inward surrender—and that God cares not only about what we do, but also about the condition of our hearts while we do it.
Jonah's assignment was clear: go to Nineveh and proclaim God's message. Instead, he ran in the opposite direction. His resistance was not caused by uncertainty about the mission. He simply did not want Nineveh to receive God's mercy. His disobedience revealed a deeper problem—a heart that was out of alignment with God's. Pasted text
Eventually, Jonah obeyed. He went to Nineveh, delivered God's message, and witnessed an extraordinary response. By every visible measure, the mission succeeded. Yet Jonah was angry because the outcome was not the one he wanted. His actions had aligned with God's command, but his heart had not aligned with God's compassion. Pasted text
In this episode, you'll discover:
- Why outward obedience can still hide inward resistance
- How personal bias can distort a leader's response to God's calling
- Why reluctant obedience often produces frustration instead of joy
- How leaders can lose sight of the mission by focusing on personal preferences
- Why faithful leadership requires both willing hands and a willing heart
- How Christian leaders can realign their motives with God's purposes
Jonah's story is especially relevant for leaders in business, ministry, churches, nonprofits, teams, and families. Leaders can fulfill responsibilities, achieve results, and still become disconnected from the purpose behind the work. Resentment can replace compassion. Routine can replace joy. Obligation can replace calling. Pasted text
Biblical leadership is not measured only by completed assignments.
It is also measured by whether our hearts are becoming more like God's along the way.
So the deeper question is not simply:
"Am I doing what God asked me to do?"
It is:
"Is my heart aligned with His while I do it?"
