O TYM ODCINKU
What if writing isn’t simply about creating stories, but about learning how to listen to life?
In this episode of HUMAN ENOUGH, I sit down with Nancy Jasin Ensley, an author, legal nurse, hospice specialist, teacher, coding specialist, and supervisor whose life has been shaped by service, family, faith, and an enduring commitment to understanding the human experience.
Nancy has written across an extraordinary range of genres, including memoir, literature, fiction, science fiction, mystery, thriller, action and adventure, and children’s literature. But beneath those different genres is a consistent thread: a desire to explore resilience, compassion, family, faith, perseverance, and the choices that shape us.
Her professional life has also brought her into some of life’s most vulnerable moments. Through nursing, hospice, legal nursing, teaching, and caregiving, she has spent decades listening, observing, and learning from people navigating difficult seasons.
We talk about how those experiences find their way into her writing, how she moves between genres without losing her voice, the relationship between memory and storytelling, and what it means to turn a life of service into stories that invite people to reflect on their own lives.
Because sometimes, writing isn’t just about telling a story.
Sometimes, it’s about remembering what mattered.
